Review: I will start off by saying I do not remember the first two books in this series so at first I was lost when I began reading. This is not the first time this has happened to me when reading a series.

The story begins with Adrien in a time stream with Nico and given a choice. Now I knew he would choose not to stay there so I did not get why he waited. Nico going with him surprised me though.

The only question I kept asking myself until near the end was why Adrien did not go back to before Nicholas was taken to begin with. That was where I would have began myself in his shoes. But then again he would not have succeeded as he was not as strong then with his powers.

Great ending with intense battles. The different timestreams added the extra bonus of seeing what could happen if things were left as they were. I really enjoyed this story and will some time in the future re-read to get the full story.

Great read.

Review: I really wanted to love this story. It had all the right aspects to it in a vampire story for me. The thing that kept me from loving was all the POV’s in it. It threw me for a loop that almost all the main characters good and bad had one. The mystery was completely gone as we knew what was going to happen before Danny did.

I prefer to guess at what is to come not be told but aside from that it was a really good story of Danny being attacked one night and going to his ex Kier, a vampire, for help. After finding out Kier was a vampire Danny left him so now he owns up to his mistake and asks for help.

I loved both characters and how they come to grips with each other. The baddies in this story had their own agendas depending on the group. There was no shortage of dangerous situations Danny and Kier find themselves in.

Good read.

Blurb: Meet me in St. Louis, Louis, bite me at the Fair!

Hot dogs and ice cream cones and electricity—oh my! The 1904 World’s Fair has it all!

The world’s spotlight is firmly fixed on St. Louis, Missouri—gateway to the West and host of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Visitors have come from all points of the globe: to gape, to taste, to explore, and to enjoy the marvels which the World’s Fair has to offer.

William Deming is an ambitious young reporter from Utah. He sees a chance not only to visit the fair, but to make a name for himself by reporting on it. He takes a room in a boarding house close on Lindell Boulevard, close to the Fair itself. What he doesn’t count on is meeting Misha—a young and handsome Russian, whose aunt owns the boarding house.

Misha is something William has never encountered before—a vampire! Before he can wrap his head around Misha’s revelation, a man is discovered murdered at the Fair, and William wonders if his Misha is involved. The evidence is especially damning as there seems to have been a connection between the vampire and the victim. Will an old flame cause new problems for William and Misha? Will they find love at the World’s Fair? Or will theirs be doomed to be a fatal attraction?

Purchase Link: eXtasy Books | Amazon US | Amazon UK

Review: Misha lives his life as quietly as he can with the help of his aunt when a new boarder catches his eye. William has been sent to do a story on the first World Fair when his eye is caught by Misha and he decides that maybe he can do the story and still have some fun.

This is a well thought out story that has a good outline and plot. Misha has a somewhat lonely existence and he begins to long for something different. William is just covering the World Fair and falls into a dalliance with Misha. These two men seem to be a good fit for each other and fell for each other quickly and they were quite passionate towards each other.

I liked the slight mystery and the danger, but I thought that things fell into place too easily. The start of the book was a bit hard to get into but as it progressed it seemed less stiff.  It seemed contrived at times and there was one point that I really found hard to believe. I mean out of all those thousands of people they just decided it was Misha…for no reason at all.

I will recommend this to those who love historical, vampires, gentle sex and angst.

My Heart is Within You. Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

Kristair is an ancient vampire looking for a body for his heart to inhabit before he deteriorates. He hears voices though he’s not sure they are real. He sees Jacob at a football game and becomes immediately entranced with the young man. He takes to learning everything he can about him. Jacob knows someone has been following him. When he finally meets the man he has dreamed of the attraction is instant. When he learns of who Kristair is is he worried? Of course, but that does stop him from wanting him? No.

I loved this story. It flowed seamlessly and wrapped the reader in a layer of mystery. I am assuming the story will continue in the next book as there are questions that were not answered in this one. Nevertheless I loved it.

Haunted by Your Soul. Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

A lot went on in this powerful continuation. Kristair has been killed. But before he was he transferred a piece of his soul and all his memories to Jacob. Jacob wants revenge on the poor hungry vampires for the torment the put Kristair through but Kristair’s memories force him to see reason. The syndicate is after Jacob so Jacob finds an ally in Tony who came back from the collective and then killed again.

It’s a fascinating story that takes you deeper into the vampires world. I thought the collective was a brilliant addition. I loved that the theory is that souls are around each other not just drifting aimlessly. This is where Kristair ended up while trying to get back to Jacob.

Our Sacred Balance. Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

This book was vastly different from the first two. The main thing being Kristair is human in this one. So he is adjusting to what humans can and cannot do after spending thousands of years as a vampire. While it might seem simple, it was not. I much preferred him as a vampire myself. Along with that change comes the fact that someone is killing vampires and Kristair feels he must look into it despite no longer being paranormal himself.

There were tense scenes and hot ones but I felt the book was seriously lacking as opposed to the first two in the series.

0verall:

All in all this bundle was a great read with plenty of hot action, mystery, suspense that takes the reader on a roller coaster ride of two people’s lives and what they must endure to be together.

Review: I love this riveting series so much. This book continues from the last as Eli reels from the events that took place. He struggles to move forward as secrets are revealed and characters that were mentioned are brought to a brighter spotlight. As per usual this addition is spellbinding and jaw dropping.

It was interesting to see that even though Eli is in all the books we really did not know who he truly was. I was glad to see questions I had throughout the series were answered in startlingly clarity. This is truly a wonderful gripping book.

Filled with twists and turns that you gasping and others that leave tears in your eyes this story packs a punch. I loved the history and timeline even though it was an ugly period it was still fascinating to see it all play out in the authors writing.

I will give no spoilers only say that to read the book. Highly recommended.

Review: There sure is a lot of action packed into this short novella! Snipers, hot lovers, angst, and tragedy all combine to form a great fast-paced read. I was hooked into the plot immediately, and was cheering for Hal all the way through. Hal or Kingfisher as he’s otherwise known is one badass vamp with a sensitive side and I always enjoy that combination in a main character. My only complaint, which really is a compliment, is that I want more. The author plants many seeds of interest in the other characters so I can’t wait for the next installment in this series.

Review: I’m usually all on board for a vampire romance, and ménage can be hot, but there’s just not enough room in this little book for the details that paint a paranormal world into something I can sink my teeth into. It’s pretty much all about the erotica, but the scenes maybe could use a bit more detail, and transitioning.

Blurb: A young vampire learns that being a psychic may be a rarity, but possessing magic abilities as well is truly a game changer.

Eight year fledgling vampire Malachi Faust is living his new life clumsily. He’s thankful to his maker, though he doesn’t know who that is, but he wants to party every night away, not caring about anything in the world—including coven life and other kin.

That is until he meets older vampire Dante, who tells him he’s not only a psychic vampire, requiring sexual energy as well as blood, but he’s also the grandson of a witch. These two gifts make him a wanted man by the most powerful clan leader in the city, who’s set to capture him and introduce him to coven life.

Malachi’s sceptical, though it does somehow explain his strangeness to need sex when he feeds, but he’s also unable to stop from getting caught up in Dante’s promises and passions. In order to survive the coven life, he must follow Dante through a world that he didn’t know existed while fighting his own lustful needs.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of violence, one MMM ménage scene and a scene of foreskin play, commonly referred to as ‘cock docking’.

Review: As I finished reading this book, I was left with questions, too many of them. Usually I’m pretty good a seeing the plot when reading a book, but this time I failed to see a point of what was happening for at least half of it and the other half simply made me think that the entire story is pretty much a chaotic jumble of carelessly thrown together thoughts.

Malachi is a new vampire, created and left alone in the world by his sire. He doesn’t mind it though, as he’s having a blast of a time; partying every night, feeding on blood and sex and freedom. However, out of nowhere Dante shows up, with his sophisticated mannerism (I didn’t quite see it) and his charm and offers Malachi himself as a mentor in order to escape people who want him – in not a necessarily good way either – and also offers to tell Malachi about who he is, and what makes him so damn special (I didn’t saw this either).

Now, here come my many, many questions. When Dante showed up Malachi was in the middle of his “hunt.” He had spotted his prey, but Dante prevented him from pursuing it. Nothing odd about this except the fact that that particular prey that was eyeing Malachi and vice versa was Raphael, the leader of the coven that ruled the city aka the guy who has been hunting Malachi down. So… why did Raphael let Malachi go with Dante…?

Moving on Dante and Malachi are trying to escape their pursuers that followed them from the club, because Dante is supposed to do just that, help Malachi escape. Yet, we learn in just a little bit that, Raphael had “hired” Dante to get, seduce, and deliver Malachi to him and along with us that information is passed onto Malachi as well. So… why is Malachi still trusting Dante, and why would Raphael let Dante go from the club with Malachi in first place since Malachi was obviously under Raphael’s thrall to begin with? See nothing so far made sense for me.

Moving on, the guy that finally found and captured them is Xavier, Raphael’s second in command. Later in the story we learn that besides being extremely strong, Xavier has also another powerful ability, that of seduction. And another thing, being the person who commands the troops that deal with rogues and drifters, Xavier is the guy that should be after Malachi in first place. It would be a piece of cake for him to get Malachi “home.”

Other questions that troubled me concern the basic story-line. Why are rogues not allowed to be? Why must everyone belong to a coven? What is the cove’s logic and dynamics? Why did Raphael (since he wanted Malachi so badly) let him go with Aurora? Why, since he forbids Xavier having fun with Malachi, did he allow Dante be with him and in the course of action another new vampire join them two in a sexual game? I mean the leader was scary, but not everybody feared him. In fact, the people defied him more often than I care to count and so on and so on. And what on earth is Malachi’s real power and what does it do? I mean the title says “The Rogue’s Power” but that one thing is left so very vague I’m found it frustrating.

Of course there is the romantic side of the story as well that had lots of staring and not making sense at all. The love thing not only came with a lightning speed, but it came out of nowhere. No reason to love there at all. I still don’t know why, why did Malachi fell in love with Dante? Or how even.

So when a book leaves me with more concerns and questions than happy feelings and entertainment I’m not so fond of it. In this case, I simply didn’t get it. For me this was a badly written book, one I wouldn’t recommend unless you don’t mind the plot and simply want to enjoy the “immortals going at it.”

Blurb:  Will Kris’s sire assist him in saving a pack of wolves from an Ancient one, or will Kris find himself abandoned again when he needs his sire most?

Kris has been fine, even happy, while living in the territory of wolves, giving help when needed, but when the wolves start dying and Kris is asked for help, the only one he can think to turn to is his sire. While Kris might fear being abandoned again by the one he holds most dear, he’ll do anything to save those who welcomed him when he was broken, even if it means seeking out the man who left him broken in the first place.

Reviewer:   Pammie

Review:  When members of his adopted pack are killed, Kris seeks help from his sire, willing to face the one who hurt and abandoned him for the sake of his adopted family. When they meet the attraction between them flares hot and strong, but Will stills sends Kris away.

Disregarding his sire’s advice not to pursue the rogue vampire, known as Tiger, Kris instead sets himself up as a decoy to draw him out and protect his pack. The ploy works too well. Tiger is far stronger than Kris. However, Will arrives and defeats Tiger, and his desire for Kris explodes into life.

Kris races, with Will at his heels; to the one place they both feel safe. Once inside, Will confesses he sent Kris away out of fear; fear of losing him, and fear of admitting the power of his love for Kris. They claim one another in a night of passion.

When Kris wakes, he has physical reminders of their passion, and the mental link to Will denoting their relationship, but before he can luxuriate, he is transported before Gaia.  Gaia had warned Will against fighting Tiger, and threatened to take Kris from Will. The entity kidnapped Kris as Will’s punishment. However Kris is quickly returned to Will.

Although I liked this story, it felt a little rushed. The werewolves and their leader, John, are barely in the story, except as a reason for Kris to seek out Will, and the end felt very rushed. But, if you like vampires and are looking for a short, sexy read this is for you.

Blurb:  Sent undercover in New Orleans’ steamy French Quarter in hopes of cracking a suspected case of rampaging Moneli demons, Gem and his partner find the case harder to crack than they ever imagined. Between the disappearance of Gem’s partner and a growing fear that Taskforce I.D.I.O.T. has a dangerous information leak Gem is desperate. He finds himself forced to team up with an intriguing “gifted” human named Angel. If Angel’s gifts can keep Gem from literally losing his head and Gem can get Angel to see past his initial misconceptions, the two may find more than the missing Vampire… they may find a love powerful enough to take on all the demons in hell.

Reviewer:   Pammie

Review:  This story has magic, witches, vampires, demons, and feisty humans.

In this world, the best a human can be to a vampire is a pet. Unless said vampire wants to be shunned. But, when his partner Don is kidnapped, and Gem is in danger, his instincts are to take the intriguing human, Angel, as a mate. And Angel is as protective of the big vampire as any true-mate would be.

To rescue Don, Gem and Angel have to be bound. Once bound, Angel can be Gem’s anchor in the human world, while Gem goes into the hellmouth to bring back Don.

Years have passed in that world while only just over a day in the mortal world. Gem succeeds in the rescue, but Don is literally a shadow of his former self, and he, too has a human mate, Carter.

When their boss, the witch Saskie, arrives, Gem is stunned to find that Don, Carter and Saskie are mates. Don then reveals that the rise in gifted humans is due to so many being vampire true-mates, but that vampire ‘purists’ are selling them to be fodder for the demon realm.

Saskie immediately advises Gem and Don they are in charge of the New Orleans branch of the taskforce, and new agents will be sent as they’re deemed cleared.

Let the Revolution begin.

This was an interesting twist on vampires, and a world where preternaturals walk openly. Gem and Angel make a great pair. The time difference in human world and demon world is one I’ve read in other stories, but hours in the one to years in the other felt extreme. That aside, it’s a great story.

If you like all things paranormal, and a hot couple, this is for you.

Blurb: Twilight meets The Sopranos in this vampire M/M gangster tale.

Anton Pagano, at a glance looks and sounds just like any other twenty-something. He lives in northern New Jersey with his mom and dad, and he’s never had to worry about anything other than his wardrobe, his latest new car, and the secret love affair he’s been having for years. However, Anton has more than just the love affair to hide: he belongs to a Sicilian vampire mobster clan that migrated to New Jersey in the late 1800s.

When Anton’s dad, the head of their clan, decides it’s time for Anton and his vampire cousin Digger to get into the “family business,” Anton’s not all that excited about it. Until he meets a sweet, young human named Leo on his first night at work. They wind up spending the rest of the night together, but things get even more complicated when they bring Anton’s secret vampire lover into the picture a few weeks later.

After a bloody battle with werewolves, and the beginning of what Anton predicts will be an all-out war between two vampire mob clans in New Jersey, Anton and his secret vampire lover decide it’s time to consider turning Leo into a vampire so all three of them can be together for eternity. But thanks to fate, nothing is as simple as it looks, and they wind up doing the one thing they ever wanted to do to Leo as a last resort.

Warning: This book contains consensual sexual violence.

Review: Anton lives with his mom and dad and younger brother (who he has a hate/hate relationship with). He is having a secret love affair, that if discovered could get him sent to Sicily, and he is about to be inducted into the ‘family business’ New Jersey mob. Oh, and he’s a vampire. Working in a mob owned nightclub brings Leo into his sights and getting to know the sweet human is the first thing he wants to do. Becoming involved with Leo could be tricky, but Anton can’t resist. Having his forbidden lover come into the relationship is exciting and brings out a side of Leo, Anton hasn’t seen before. Now after an ambush by werewolves who were acting on the orders of a rival mob boss, Anton knows that an all-out war is heading their way. Just as Anton and his secret love decide to tell the truth about their nature to Leo, they are placed in a position of doing something they never wanted to do.

This story combines Italian mobsters with vampires, creating an interesting read. Anton belongs to a vampire clan who are also Sicilian mobsters. They control part of New Jersey and Anton’s dad, Angelo, decides it is time for Anton and his cousin Digger to come into the ‘family business’. Anton also embarks on a new relationship, which his secret lover becomes jealous of, until he gets to know Leo. Problems arise from a rival mob and Anton has to make a choice for Leo, which Leo might not like. I loved the mobster vampires and loved how they came to life. They infused the book with color with their expressive mannerisms and language.

The characters in this story bring to mind larger than life Italian mobsters. Angelo is a slight enigma with his fascination of deer. Anton’s brother is a stuck up homophobe. Digger acts like a spoiled brat and has many temper tantrums and Anton is slightly more sophisticated and calm headed than the rest. Leo is a very sweet gentle soul, who has a strong moral code. Together they make a good story, and I was really enjoying the story until I got just over half way through and then it went downhill as far as I was concerned. I enjoy BDSM and erotica as much as the next reader, but what I don’t like is consensual abuse and there was no warning at all in any of the sites that I visited concerning this book.

I will be honest in my dislike of Digger. He is the type of man who if you met him once, then you would go out of your way to avoid him. He was spoiled, self-centered and prone to violence at the slightest thing. Anton is a very likeable man and Leo really was very sweet, but he changed as well, later in the book and he didn’t much resemble the Leo I first met. Some people will really enjoy this story, but for me the lack of warning ruined my enjoyment. I wasn’t prepared for the level of violence during the sex. Consensual violence isn’t for everyone. Whips and floggers are far apart from punches and kicks and while I love whips and floggers, punches and kicks make me feel ill.

I will recommend this to those who love paranormal, mobsters, backstabbing rivals, colorful characters, consensual violence and a happy for now ending.

Blurb: Set in ninth century Ireland, when Haakon’s son, the finest warrior in the village, dies in his bed and so is excluded from Valhalla, a blood oath is made. Nobody but the village witch, the Gytha, can foresee the catastrophic consequences. Even she is not sure how they will resolve it.

Review: Ivar, the village Chief Haakon’s son, was struck down by sickness. Haakon fears Ivar will never enter Valhalla and swears a blood oath. Gytha, the village witch, knows it will be a terrible curse, but bows to Haakon’s wishes and with the help of Ivar’s childhood friend, Thorkell, sets about bringing Ivar back.

Okkaayy, this is far from a nice sweet read. In fact, it is pretty brutal, bloody and dismal. Although, it has a happy-ish ending it isn’t happily ever after in the romance *snort ‘romance’* stakes. Thorkell desires men. A desire that will get him killed and that desire is pointed at his best friend, Ivar.  So when Ivar dies, Thorkell offers his love and devotion on the chance it will bring him back. But, Ivar is not the same and although Thorkell strikes a deal with Ivar, Ivar is just too wrong to let live.

This is a great little short if you are looking for something that is to the point and brutal and a touch monstrous, with a hint of dread and despair. I really felt like this was more like a horror story with a bit of redemption thrown in at the end. It’s well written and sends a couple of tendrils of dread down your spine as you see what has returned from the dead. Especially when poor Thorkell has sworn to deal with what Ivar has become. If you read this expecting a happy sexual love-fest between Thorkell and Ivar, then you will be surprised when it is brutal and to the point and the happiness comes when they return to just friends.

I will recommend this to those who want true love that’s twisted, a touch of horror, despair, and dread, very rough sex and an ending that is happy for Thorkell in his acceptance.

Review:  BDB and True Blood fans rejoice! In a reality where vampire’s are accepted, brothers Aeden and Lyall MacKay are fighting an ancient evil that is hell-bent on destroying mankind.  I really loved the storyline between these two.  I don’t think I’ve ever read gay vampire brothers before. They are fierce fighters that are fiercely loyal to each other and their fellow brothers in arms as well as their mortal lovers.

Alistair MacFarlane is the policeman that is head over heels in love with Aeden. When all hell breaks loose he is more than willing to accept the brothers help in the investigation and ultimately the fight between the vampires and humans against the ancients. Aeden is not quite as open about his feelings for the enigmatic cop, he fights the mutual attraction.

When Aberglen is brutally attacked and Alistair is almost killed, will Aeden finally admit how he feels? Or will his reluctance to make the mortal man his, prove stronger than what he feels in his heart.

There is a little bit of everything in this book. Love, lust, action, suspense and some HOT as HELL guy on guy action! I was screaming at my kindle when I got to the end. I don’t know how long I have to wait for a sequel, but I hope it’s not very long. Bowie definitely leaves you wanting more, wanting to know what will happen next for Aeden and Alistair.

Blurb: When an irresistible man offers Christian a job that sounds too good to be true, he finds out the proposal comes with sharp teeth and the loss of his immortal soul.

Christian thought he had a handle on life. He wasn’t rich, but he had a decent job bartending at a local gay bar. That is until one night when Theron walked into the bar and turned his world upside down. Theron, a mesmerizing stranger with the ability to turn Christian on with a single look, makes Christian an offer he can’t refuse, but in hindsight, probably should have – a job at Theron’s ultra trendy club. The problem? The position is for life, and in the underworld of vampire sex slaves, that can be a very, very long time, indeed.

Review: Ah, an excellent read from Kiernan Kelly.  One I truly enjoyed reading.

As it is often the occasion with short stories and novelettes, they are under-developed and lacking a proper story. Well that was certainly NOT the case with Theron’s Boys.

Here we find a solid plot and the story of a greedy Vampire, who sires slaves to keep his stock full. The boys learn fairly quickly after their change, that they are no more worth than cattle and their sole existence is to make Theron money.

One of those boys is Christian. With no family to care for him and no friends around it was easy for Christian to fall under Theron’s spell. Of course, Theron didn’t mention that Christian would be losing everything, when he offered him immortality. So the novelty of being stronger, faster and immortal quickly wore off when the reality of being Theron’s rent-boy hit. The worst part of all now is that Christian is falling for his roommate David, yet he cannot have a future with him because he’s being sold…

A lovely, lovely read. The characters were brilliant. Theron’s greed and arrogance was perfect and the desperation of the vampires under his rule was nearly palpable. If this read had a slightly longer length it would have been perfect, yet even in its current state it lacks nothing.  Hot characters, an action plot and perfectly balanced sexual scenes that fit so good.  It only made me wish and hope for a sequel. Totally recommended to those who love a good vampire story.

Very well done, indeed.

Review: I was very excited reading this book and it was absolutely fascinating. The whole idea was so invigorating it made it quite a joy for me to read. In the end though, I wavered between three or four hearts.

This book starts with a powerful kick.  A troubled ex-con trying to make it in a world where there aren’t many opportunities for him left. A bit his circumstances in life, a bit the wrong choices, a bit the fact that there aren’t many choices to begin with and Aiden is to his last crossroad. He has to take the hard path and keep himself clean or get lost in that abyss of nothingness forever and simply await his death. It’s his last chance, but damn it hard when you have no dreams and no expectations.

That is until he meets the new security guard at work. Luka is…well, hot. No better word for him. Luka is sexy.  Luka takes one look at Aiden and he practically devours him without asking anything back. But, Luka is a living mystery. He has secrets he can’t share, but that doesn’t keep Aiden from falling for his sexy co-worker.  Even if he has no expectation that a guy like Luka will stay with him in the long-term.

So the story up until 80% of this book was plain amazing. The characters both were unique.  But, as we read this book from Aiden’s PoV we get to know him much better, his fears, his feelings, and his inner monster. Everything about this character screams “help me”, yet he must help himself. I loved Aiden, really, truly loved him. I loved the fact that the author chose a “flawed” character for her protagonist. It’s hard not to feel at least compassion for him and well, let’s say that his whole bad-ass description has its allure, too.

The interactions between the men are also very charming. They start with a hot scene in the break room and slowly take those steps toward dating and having something more solid. In the meanwhile, Lukas helps Aiden stand on his feet by simply being by him, giving him incentive to stay strong. And when they fall in love, it’s done beautifully in a smooth way that doesn’t grate.

As I said awesome book up until 80%.

However, Lukas’ exposure somehow threw me. His “alter ego” did not fascinate me as much. The information about his “other” life was somehow vague and the very end felt a bit rushed, abrupt. As if the book suddenly exceeded the word count and had to end. That last 20% of the book nearly killed me. I was so enthralled with my read that it somehow came as a shock. Hence, my wavering between three and four hearts.

But thing is, I did love this book ending notwithstanding. I found it remarkable and a fresh breath in the choice of character.  Not to mention very nice execution and writing. So, I’ll not hesitate to recommend this to those who love strong protagonists who go through the hard way in life and still don’t give up.  Those who love a good romance.  And those who want a bit of vamp and blood in their reads.

Have fun, I sure did.
