Blurb: Last Christmas, Tyler Lang accidentally accepted David Griffith’s invitation for dinner. Yes, it was an accident. See, hipster (don’t call him that!) Tyler doesn’t date guys, and even if he did, he certainly doesn’t date jocks. A rude and hasty exit right when the date was getting good left things awkward between them.

David Griffith isn’t really a jock. Well, he’s a former athlete who loves sports, but “jock” has a certain connotation that doesn’t quite fit the intelligent, hardworking store owner. A jock wouldn’t have given Tyler Lang the time of day. But even after that little, ahem, stunt with the fire escape, David can’t stop thinking about the hipster a year later. Which would be fine if fate didn’t keep butting her nose into their business, making it impossible for the jock and the hipster to avoid each other this Christmas.

A hilarious holiday romp, set to the music of the Winter Sounds.

Review: In this sequel to Bowl Full of Cherries Tyler Lang learns not to judge a book by its cover, sometimes there is more there than meets the eye. A year ago Tyler accepts a date with David. But leaves via the fire escape shortly after arriving and explaining he is not interested. Now a year later the two meet again via his twin Rell and a party. What follows is a heart-warming tale of learning about one’s self and a whole lot of drama as the two progress the ups and downs of a relationship.

This story is actually about two couples. Tyler and David, and Rell and Crowley from the first book. Well written with some funny scenes that had me laughing. As well as some soul searching on Tyler’s part as to what he really wants. The side characters were a hoot and added an extra layer to the book.

I enjoyed reading about Tyler and his eye opening moments as he struggles with his feelings for David. David is consistent in his feelings for Tyler as waits Tyler out. This is a really good emotional read that grabs at the heart strings.

This story is a great addition to the series.

Mistakes were made, that’s for sure. But was it the night of passion? Or walking away afterward?

That’s the question Seamus Williams must face when he gets a late night phone call from someone he never expects to hear from again.

“I miss you, Shay.”

Chancey Bo Clearwater is a cowboy through and through. He spends his days finding work on whatever ranch will take him and his nights at the pool hall. He’s always done what needed doing and never thought much about what he wanted. ’Til that drunken night with Seamus.

A world of problems now stand between Seamus and Chancey exploring what might have been, the least of which being the Atlantic Ocean. On one side there’s Chancey’s daughter who mood swings from angel to demon in two seconds flat; on the other there’s the new lodger, hogging Shay’s telly and his cornflakes, and making private Skype time hard to come by.

Is this relationship doomed before it ever begins? Or can a surprise announcement from Seamus’s brother be enough to help the two find their second chance?

Where the Grass is Greener features Seamus Williams – the older brother of Patrick from Leaving Flowers.

Blurb: Beau Bell is a former Olympic hopeful, left paralyzed from the waist down after a car accident. He has every reason in the world to be pissed off and miserable, yet he’s training for the Paralympics Men’s 100m—S6 division. The chair? Just a part of who he is now. Beau’s attitude is golden. If only he could contend with this one little issue: errant erections and no way to relieve them!

Nikša Meríc is a lonely scientist and really bad poet living underneath the old building where he does his research. Every night he watches his neighbor through his basement window as he undresses in his wheelchair. Although there is no apparent reason for Nikša to be unhappy, he’s struggled with depression his whole life and has tried to kill himself on multiple occasions.

When Beau proposes that his “voyeur” come over and help him experiment with the erections he can’t actually feel, the relationship they build is a sexual one. But the relationship they need is one that will heal each other’s heart as well.

Review: All That Shimmers is from the anthology (collection) PieceUsBackTogetherLGPiece Us Back Together. These stories can all be read separate and standalone beautifully

All That Shimmers is a very riveting story about an Olympic swimmer that is now a paraplegic. Beau is strong and even though he is paralyzed from the waist down, he never gave up on his dream. He does have a deeper issue to deal with that we never would think of. Though he is paralyzed he feels the need for orgasm. He knows he gets aroused and can get hard on, but cannot ever come.

Niksa has deep mental issues. He has attempted suicide several times, but failed. He is all alone, from another country and has no real friends. Can these two men heal each other?

This is a beautiful, angsty story of two broken men, one physically the other mentally. It shows us challenges and needs we would never consider in people’s lives. Simple needs such as orgasm for a man with spinal paralysis and the simple need of family of friends. Being alone in a strange land with no one.

I loved the strength in Beau that he never gave up on his dreams even though he lost the use of his legs. He is sort of an ass relationship wise, but once you read the story you do see why and cannot really blame him. I still found him likeable.

Niksa, Niksa, Niksa! What I would give to see his full story. (Hint, hint). My heart went out to him. (Tissue alert). The way Niksa and Beau meet is a bit creepy, but I loved this story so much.

Leaving Flowers

by

Debbie McGowan and Raine O’Tierney

Shy and awkward since childhood, Aidan Degas is now a man lost. His twin—Aidan’s other half, Nadia—died tragically young, leaving him with nothing to get him through his days but his job at the prestigious Grand Heights Luxury Apartments and the flowers he lays upon her grave. When Aidan is assaulted on the job by a tenant, it’s the graveyard he turns to for strength and solace.

Patrick loves being assistant groundskeeper at the sprawling cemetery where he tends graves and offers a bit of comfort to mourners. When he sees a sad young man lingering over an old grave, his curiosity is strangely piqued for reasons he doesn’t understand. He’s never done this—struck up a friendship with a mourner. But soon that friendship blossoms into a romance.

It’s not going to be easy for the pair. Aidan is so damaged, like petals crushed in an angry fist, and even with Patrick’s warm heart and Irish charm, it might not be enough to bring him back from the edge.

Porker, Fatty, Tons-of-Fun: Crowley Fredericks has heard it all. He’s dropped a lot of weight since his high school days, but he’s still a big guy, and the painful words and bullying follow him. Rejected—again—because of his size, Crowley is starting to think that maybe love just isn’t meant for huskier men.

Averell Lang and his twin are so different they might as well not even be related. Nerdy, fascinating, attractive, Crowley. Rell never expected to look at a man this way, and what he sees in Crowley Fredericks is something he didn’t even know he was looking for. If both men can overcome their hang-ups, they might unwrap more than presents this holiday season.

Review: Crowley Fredericks is sent a text message from his mother telling him not to bother coming home for the holidays, as no one will be there to pick him up from the airport. Upon hearing this his roommate and best friend, Tyler, immediately tells him he’s coming home with him for the holidays but he has to take a different flight as his is booked up. When Crowley meets Rell, Tyler’s twin brother, there is an immediate attraction.

Crowley seemed very shy and insecure about himself as a result of being bullied by an older guy. I really felt for him and didn’t understand why people are so cruel. Along the way and with the help of Tyler’s family he slowly begins to have more confidence in himself.

Rell seemed like a caring individual who didn’t yet know what he wanted to do with life. He’s never dated a guy before but is deeply attracted to Crowley. He tries his best to comfort Crowley when things become too much for him.

I really liked the way that Crowley and Rell helped each other overcome the things holding them back. It was a long journey full of drama and sad stories but also full of love and understanding. Although I didn’t like Tyler trying to keep them apart, I did understand why he felt the need to do so.

Review: This is a pretty damn good book as well. I loved how the author incorporated the character’s backgrounds, feelings, and surroundings into how things turned out. I found it so adorable how the characters volunteered into something and ended up closer than ever before. The book was downright amazing to me. Showed me that no matter what, no matter how bad, thing should always work out.

I found myself siding with both Jem and Bailey through it all. I found the characters very three-dimensional, the story solid, and the plot downright great. It made me wanna learn more and more about Jem and Bailey. I hope Raine plans to write more about Jem and Bailey. They are a rather interesting couple.

I highly recommend this story.
