Blurb: Sometimes Fae love stories aren’t what you expect.

The Marfach—devourer of magick, long-imprisoned mortal enemy of the Fae race—is free of its Antarctic prison.

The Demesne of Purgatory—Fae, humans, a Fade-hound puppy, a Gille Dubh, and a darag—is all that stands between the monster and the power it needs to destroy both the Fae Realm and the human world.

The only clue they have as to how to kill the unkillable is a cryptic note from the Loremasters:
“Osclór, Nartú; Tobar, Soladán; Nidantór, Breathea; Glanadorh, Coromór, Farthor; Scian-omprór, Nachangalte; Crangaol, Síofra; Gastiór, Laoc, Caomhnór; Fánadh, Ngarradh.”
Opener, Strength; Wellspring, Channel; Unmaker, Judge; Cleanser, Equalizer, Sentry; Blade-bearer, Unbound; Tree-kin, Changeling; Binder, Warrior, Guardian; Wanderer, Sundered.

As they rebuild Purgatory from the rubble the Marfach left behind, they have to stand together, using everything they know—everything they are to their partners, lovers, husbands. Everything SoulSharing has made them.

And not everyone who enters the final battle will leave it.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order.

The Fae and their SoulShares know that they have a huge challenge ahead; they have to finally kill the Marfach and destroy the Pattern if they want to save the Fae realm and Earth. Which considering they have no idea how to do either, the Marfach is unkillable and the Pattern has been sealed by the Loremasters from their side.

This is a fantastic conclusion to the SoulShares series; it’s got love, danger, action, mystery and a huge twist. I was gripped by this story and the way it played out.

We rejoin the guys as they try to figure out how they are going to move forward in their plans, and as typical Fae are wont to be their planning is more of a bragging of their skills and how they will all single handedly tear the Marfach to pieces. The SoulsShares all know the risks they are facing, and when a cryptic message arrives from the Loremasters they know the only way forward is for them to all work together.

Kevin is terrified though, he is haunted by a dream and when the dream comes true his world is shattered.

We get to enjoy brief snatches of each of the couples & throuple from the first eight books, but this books focuses on the final battle with the Marfach and the aftermath. I really don’t want to give anything away so that’s all I can say about the storyline.

Rory Ni Coileain has wrapped this series up nicely; the writing is superb and grips you from the start. The entire storyline is wrapped up perfectly although I was hoping for a glimpse of reunion between all eight couples at the very end (you’ll understand when you read it 😉 )

I have to say that I was extremely satisfied with how the series ended, there was nothing left hanging or left open. This series truly has ended and while I am sad to say goodbye to the guys, I’m pleased with how it all finished.

I recommend this to those who Fae, danger, a long reaching plot, hope, great characters, an interesting storyline, and a great ending.

A Summer’s Day: Shakespearean Anthology with a Twist

by

Rory Ni Coileain, Louise Lyons, Asta Idonea, Nephy Heart, Charlie Cochrane, Dianne Hartsock, Kathy Griffith, Rian Durant, Phetra H. Novak, J.L. Merrow, M. LeAnne Phoenix, Rebecca Cohen

We’re celebrating Shakespeare’s legacy with this collection of 12 stories based on his works and the way they are often woven into our lives. The twist is that all stories are MM. There are modern retellings of some plays, interpretations of others and one of the sonnets, and delightful referencing of anything Shakespeare.

There is gentle YA romance next to hot sexy stories and all kinds of relationships – first love, May/December, interracial, second chances, happy endings and even a tragic one.

We’re traveling from Ancient Rome through Renaissance England to modern day UK, Venice Beach and other places in USA, Vancouver and Havana.

There’s fun, drama, tears, angst, joy and, above all, lots of true love.

DEEPER THAN DID EVER PLUMMET SOUND
Rory Ni Coileain

Clarence Limont is a slowly fading star of the London stage; convinced his great performances are all behind him, he nevertheless agrees to play Prospero in an off-off-Broadway production of The Tempest helmed by an old friend.

Jaymes Stafford is the production’s starry-eyed Ariel, waking feelings Clarence had thought long dead and buried.

But the poisonous jealousy of other members of the cast may steal the stars from Jaymes’ eyes, and even put paid to Clarence’s illustrious career.
(“The Tempest”)

A FINE LINE BETWEEN
Louise Lyons

When Romeo runs into Julian on the beach, he’s the last person he wants to see as he’s grown up hating him due to his parents’ aversion to Julian’s dad.

When simple lust becomes something more, the pair ignore their parents’ anger, but family fights drive the lovers away from home – into a horrifying incident. Will it make the Montgomerys and the Caplins rethink their feud?
(“Romeo and Juliet”)

THE DEVIL AND THE LION
Asta Idonea

Caius Martius and Tullus Aufidius have long been enemies.

Then Martius arrives on Aufidius’ doorstep, seeking a military alliance. Aufidius accepts; however, he wishes their partnership to extend from the battlefield to the bedchamber.

His lust for Martius is one of the reasons he spares his life, but his jealousy will soon have terrible consequences.
(“Coriolanus”)

KISS ME, KADE
Nephy Heart

Kade is in trouble, negotiating a dangerous path between an authoritarian father and wayward sister.

Then Pete storms into his life and tries to take over.

It can only end in disaster.
(“Taming of The Shrew”)

IF MUSIC BE…
Charlie Cochrane

Rick Cowley finds himself taking up am-dram once more, thinking it’ll help him get over the death of his partner.

He’d never anticipated it would mean an encounter with an old flame and the sort of emotional complications the Bard would have reveled in.

Still, old Will had the right word for every situation, didn’t he?
(“Twelfth Night”)

TWO GUYS FROM VANCOUVER
Dianne Hartsock

Valentine has been watching Preston date man after man with never more than a brotherly hug for him.

Finally, despairing that Preston will ever love him in return, Val moves away to college, where he meets the glorious Silver, a man with problems of his own, who just might be his answer.

Torn between his attraction to Preston and his growing desire for Silver, Val wonders if he’ll ever find love or will his life become as tragic as any of the Shakespearean plays he loves so well.
(“The Two Gentlemen of Verona”)

WHEN I LOVE THEE NOT
Rian Durant

Desmond, the heir of a business owner is outed in the media after a hot night with his lover, Olvin, who also happens to be the company’s best negotiation expert.

This is only the first step in Ian’s plan to get back at Olvin for choosing Michel Caswell as a main assistant for the latest merger instead of him, a plan in which he’s moving everybody around like pawns on a chessboard, bending the rules.

Will Ian drive a wedge between Desmond and Olvin and get the position he wants or will he realize that there’s something more important that stops the world from turning into chaos?
(“Othello”)

THE MERCHANT OF VENICE BEACH

When Koray asks Winter out on a date, Winter takes center stage in his very own tragedy, determined to end his play for today with a happily ever after.

Screwing his courage to the sticking place, Winter sets his sights on the future and Koray… but when the horrors of yesterday resurface, will he crest the waves of fear and despair, or will he be heard no more?
(“Macbeth”)

MUCH ADO ABOUT LADY MACBETH
Rebecca Cohen

Competition for roles is always high when the King’s Men put on a play, but David seems to come up against Jacob time and time again, no matter what part he is auditioning for.

But now they both want to be Lady Macbeth and it’s more than simple rivalry that causes the sparks to fly.
(Shakespeare’s Theatre)

And as all the world’s a stage we do hope that one day very soon all the world will be a place for everybody to love whomever they want to love and feel safe.

Review:  Wolf, Becoming is a wonderful novella by Rory Ni Coiliean. It is wonderful in the way that it is a dark and gritty view in the world of the paranormal. It is wonderful in the way that it looks at wolf shifters in a very unique and interesting way. It is wonderful in the way that it is purely about survival.

We first meet Volyk, a wolf shifter which are known as oboroten’. When tragedy strikes, a human killed his father, Volyk is left to protect his pregnant mother though he is still a child. That is when they meet a pack of real wolves. However, when it is revealed he is gay, Volyk is rejected by the pack and left to wonder as a lone wolf. I find it difficult to form an appropriate and brief explanation of oboroten’ vs real wolves – this isn’t quite the same as other shape shifter stories. Here, it is more like that the oboroten’ have a human skin beneath their wolf skin, rather than the other way around. The oboroten’ communicate telepathically, something they need to hide from normal wolves, which communicate via body language. This is definitely one of the main reasons that I find the story exciting to read.

Then there is Ilya. We meet him as a child and it is immediately obvious that he is more tender-hearted than his father and brothers. Then years later when it is discovered he is gay, his brothers plot to get rid of him. Ilya is a real sweetheart and the guys have real chemistry. This is where Ilya and Volyk’s worlds clash. Volyk goes to save Ilya and in the end the only way to do so is to turn him into a werewolf.

From there, it is about making sure Ilya can live as a werewolf. Then there is danger from the old pack who do not want Volyk anywhere near their territory. There are some surprises along the way, which in the end lifts some of the darkness from the book. This is, ultimately, a story of survival. Anyone who loves to read about shape shifters should enjoy this darker twist on the genre.

by

Rory Ni Coileain

Tiernan Guaire was exiled from the Fae Realm a century and a half ago for his brother’s murder. His soul torn in half, he lives by his vows—never to trust, never to love. And if he can only be whole by finding and loving the human with the other half of his soul? He’s content to live broken and half-souled.

Kevin Almstead’s future, the career he’s worked for as long as he can remember, has been taken away by a vote of the partners at his law firm. Chance brings him to Purgatory, the hottest all-male nightclub in Washington, D.C., to a meeting with a Fae, with long blond hair, ice-blue eyes, and a smile promising pleasures he’s never dreamed of. But there’s no such thing as chance.

But Tiernan isn’t the only one to find Kevin in Purgatory. The most ancient enemy of the Fae race sees in the handsome lawyer a way to destroy the world from which it, too, was exiled. And only the strength of a true SoulShare bond can keep it from what it seeks.

20th May:
Rory Ni Coileain - Soulshare series Gale Force Final

Gale Force

(SoulShare 02)

Conall Dary is the mightiest mage born to the Fae race in more than two thousand years, ever since the Sundering of the Fae and human worlds. But that power condemns him to an untouched, virginal life—sex calls to power, and his power is enough to drain the magick, the life, from his entire world. Exiled from the Realm for refusing to turn his talent to service a Noble’s petty revenge fantasies, his soul is torn in two and his magickal gifts blocked.

Josh LaFontaine is a gifted tattoo artist with a heart of gold. While doing a good turn for an ex-boyfriend, he’s stunned when a gorgeous red-haired twink appears out of nowhere at his feet during New York City’s Pride march.

The Marfach was thwarted in its first attempt to capture a Fae. But when a terrible accident separates Conall and Josh before they bond, it’s a race to see who finds the mage first, the monster who will use him as a weapon to destroy his race, or his SoulShare.

Deep Plunge

(SoulShare 03)

More than two thousand years ago, the healer Lochlann Doran was the first Fae to leave the Realm after the Sundering of the Fae and human worlds. After centuries of wandering the human world, seeking his SoulShare, he has spent all his magick, and lost all his hope.

Garrett Templar is the star pole dancer at Purgatory, the hottest gay nightclub in Washington, D.C. If his past hadn’t taught him the futility of hope, his present surely would; HIV-positive since age 18, his illness has suddenly and inexplicably mutated into drug-impervious AIDS.

A SoulShare bond with Garrett may give Lochlann back his magick, his gift of healing. But it also might kill him. And if he survives the return of his magick, the Marfach and its host are waiting to use the dancer as bait in a deadly trap. Only an impossible love can save them both.

And everyone knows Fae don’t love….

Firestorm

(SoulShare 04)

Rian Sheridan is a foundling, a Falls Road corner boy, whose world went up in flames beside an Orangemen’s bonfire of hatred last July the Twelfth. A pain he barely remembers is a siren’s call, taunting him, daring him to find its source and lose himself to it. And he searches in the only place he knows, the S&M underground of Belfast.

Cuinn an Dearmad is the last surviving Fae Loremaster. He’s just seen the beginning of the death of the Realm, the home of the Fae race and their haven from the twisted evil of the Marfach. The only hope of saving the Realm starts with finding the Prince Royal of Fire he himself stole from the cradle, sent through the Pattern, and lost in the human world, many years ago. He has a few guesses about where that hope ends, none of which bode well for him.

Rian and Cuinn are an impossible pairing, two SoulShared Fae. Any two Fae strike sparks, but these two Fae are an explosive combination. Drawn into an escalating series of sexual collisions, their passion will save—or destroy—two worlds.

Ilya, the youngest son of a Moscow oligarch, is so deep in the closet he’d find Narnia if that weren’t a decadent Western story. On Christmas Eve, his brothers lure him into the forest, intending to murder him and erase the shame he inflicts on their family by existing. Blurb: Magick is reawakening after a sleep of thousands of years—and passion is not far behind. Darach is the first reborn of his race, a tree spirit living within an ancient oak on the shore of a remote loch.

Trevor knows nothing of magick or passion. He’s escaping an oppressive family and a lonely life. One breath of freedom, he thinks, before his stark, loveless reality swallows him up. The last thing he expects from his vacation to the Isle of Skye is to spend his first night being thoroughly ravished against a tree by a naked man who speaks in the sounds of leaves and wind.

Darach never believed he’d have his heart stolen by any man, let alone one so different from any human he remembers. Freedom is intoxicating and the potential for sensual play limitless. But can what was built in a night of scorching desire survive both men’s fear?

Purchase Link: http://www.ellorascave.com/heart-of-the-oak.html

Review: Trevor is visiting the Isle of Skye as a way to find peace from his oppressive and homophobic family, his lonely life is wearing him down and he is looking for a connection in the land that his family left many years before. A night under an old oak tree gives Trevor a glimpse of true happiness but before he can find true peace, he has to throw off the concerns of what other people think. Darach has been sleeping for centuries, with the return of the magick Darach and his darag awaken to a new time and a man who manages to steal Darach’s heart. But can they both put aside their fears to bask in their scorching desire and love?

This is a wonderful whimsical feeling story that is infused with passion with a twist of angst. Trevor is returning to his family roots to visit distant family and to get away from his oppressive life, a life where he has to hide his true self. Beneath an oak tree, he discovers a mysterious man who gives him a night of passion and a longing for so much more. Darach has just awoken from a long sleep and the human under his tree calls to him, Darach discovers that Trevor has done something that no one, human or otherwise, has ever done before, he has forged a connection that Darach has never experienced before.

We fall into a story that has longing, yearning, want and need, it drags us into a world that is whimsical yet passionate and has two men who find what they have always wanted, but who have insecurities that could tear them apart. Trevor is a man who longs for what he wants but doesn’t think he will get it and when he does, he becomes scared because the man he falls for isn’t a man from his world. Darach is a tree spirit tied to the magick of his oak tree, Trevor becomes his dream so very easily and Darach begins to feel things he has never felt before and it has Darach believing himself a fool when Trevor runs from his fears.

This was a very easy story to be enraptured with. I was pulled along by the whimsical feel and mysterious dreamlike quality of the story. Both characters made me want to know more about them and what they had been through in the past, when they came together for the first time it was passionate and explosive and had me wanting more from them. The writing is wonderful, giving you the whole incredible story without being too whimsical or too angsty, but giving you plenty of passion and longing.

I recommend this to those who love paranormal based on the old world tales, characters who have longings for something more, incredible passionate sex, some angst, forgiveness and finding a place to call home.

Blurb: For the last six hundred years or so, the only things reminding Lochlann Doran he’s a Fae have been his faceted aquamarine eyes and the fact that he can’t die. He’s been a wanderer for so long in the human world – over two thousand years – that he’s lost his magick, including the gift of healing that goes along with being a Fae of the Demesne of Water. Finding his SoulShare might get it back for him. But it might kill him, too. Garrett Templar has been living on borrowed time, in a sense, since he was eighteen, when one of the johns he entertained to pay the bills while he danced at Purgatory infected him with HIV. It was always supposed to be a “manageable” disease, though, at least until a cure was found. Except he’s just found out that the virus in his system has inexplicably mutated into full-blown AIDS, and no known drug cocktail can even slow it down. And when Lochlann and Garrett find each other at last, on Purgatory’s dance floor, the only thing as urgent as their need for one another is the hunger of an ancient evil to do whatever is necessary to possess Lochlann’s magick…

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Lochlann was the first through the Pattern, the guinea pig, and has been wandering Earth for over two thousand years; he lost his magic six hundred years ago during the Black Plague and now, he has finally met his SoulShare. Garrett has had bad news, his HIV has mutated into full-blown AIDS, when he meets Lochlann he is still reeling from the shock and tries to push the Fae away. Lochlann needs his magic back to heal Garrett, and to get his magic back he has to complete the SoulShare with Garrett, but Garrett is scared to put Lochlann in danger and neither know if Lochlann would survive after so many years. Janek and the Marfach are still desperate for the power and they will do anything to possess it.

This is a brilliant addition to the SoulShare series, we discover more about the Loremaster’s and the creation of the Pattern, and we see a new pairing of Fae and human and the difficulties they face. Lochlann has roamed Earth for over two thousand years and never seen another Fae, but the night he discovers his SoulShare Garrett he meets another Fae and discovers that his ex-friend Cuinn is still floating around and boy does Lochlann have a bone to pick with him. Garrett knows he will never have a real intimate relationship again and that his health is seriously depleted, but although he tries to push away the sexy Fae, he can’t help but have that touch of hope. But danger is heading their way, as the Marfach is getting impatient for magic.

I loved this installment of the series and the new developments that was revealed. Lochlann and Garrett have a terrible journey ahead of them as they come together; their budding joining is nearly torn apart not only by the Marfach but also by death. We see the characters from previous stories Tiernan and Kevin (Hard as Stone) and Conall and Josh (Gale Force) and Cuinn as Lochlann and Garrett face challenges to be together. Although there were, some trying times in the previous books, this story has the most harrowing as Janek and the Marfach take extreme measures to try to get what they want.

I recommend this to those that love Fae, danger, a long reaching plot, hope, great characters, more maneuvering of the Loremasters, an interesting storyline and a great ending.

Blurb:  But Josh will need to find him before the ancient evil of the Marfach does or everything they have – and more – will be lost.Conall Dary is the most powerful mage born to the Fae race since the Realm was parted from the human world, over two thousand years ago. But that very power condemns him to a lifetime of celibacy, because sex calls to power, and he has power enough to drain a world. When he refuses to use his talents for a Noble lady’s petty revenge, he finds himself shanghaied to the human world, his soul torn in half and his magick blocked. Josh LaFontaine is the beautifully inked owner of Raging Art-On, a Washington, D.C. tattoo and piercing parlor. While taking part in New York City’s Pride march with a former lover’s dance company, his world changes forever when the man of his dreams materializes out of nowhere at his feet . Josh’s sensual and loving touch, the first Conall has ever known, may be enough to give him back the magick he’s lost. But before they can complete their Soulshare, a terrible accident leaves Conall bodiless, lost, and invisible, to everyone except – maybe – the human with whom he shares a soul.

Review: This story is part of a series which must be read in order. Conall is the most powerful mage since the sundering. Unfortunately, he is so powerful that he could drain the Realm.  So he has a tight control over his powers and he can’t ever let go which means a celibate life. When he refuses to do the bidding of a noble lady, he finds himself cast out on Earth, his soul ripped in two and his magic broken and he lands at the feet of a tattoo artist. Josh owns the tattoo parlor above Purgatory and is currently visiting friends, helping in a Pride march when he nearly falls over an injured man. Drawn to helping the man Josh takes him home. But, the Marfach is on the prowl and before long both Josh and Conall are in danger and an accident leaves Conall in an uncertain predicament.

This is a brilliant continuation of the Soulshares series. Josh is drawn to Conall and doesn’t understand wh., Conall understands that Josh must be his Soulshare, but his magic was damaged when his soul was torn in two and arousal causes him pain.  But, being separated from Josh is also painful. Separated when Josh’s workplace is broken into, Conall finds the pain unbearable and has an accident that renders him bodiless. Josh is the only one who can bring him back, but with the Marfach hunting for Conall and trying to find a way to the nexus, both Josh and Conall face a danger that could well destroy them.

This is a brilliant imaginative story that reveals more about the Loremasters and their plans and their involvement in the banishings, and also continues the Marfach’s hunting of the Fae and the nexus. Both, Conall and Josh are great characters. Conall has lived a lonely life because of his powerful magic, while Josh hasn’t been able to really settle for a man before. The two of them together are something special. The sex that they do have is really hot and the difficulties they face are definitely unique and dangerous. We see Tiernan and Kevin from Hard as Stone and we discover more about Cuinn and his involvement in what is happening.  Marfach and its human host Janek are more involved in this story and it is far from pretty.

I love the way that this story is heading and the characters we are meeting.  There is something refreshing in this world we are being drawn into with these banished Fae. Even though the Fae firmly believe that they can’t love they are doing a very good job with their Soulshares and the storyline is fantastic with the story details becoming clearer and it makes us wonder just what the Loremasters are up to. Rory Ni Coileain gives us some descriptions that make us glad that we aren’t Janek. I can’t wait for the next story Deep Waters and what will be unveiled then.

I will recommend this to those who love broken Fae, uniting Soulshares, avoiding death, Urban Fantasy, hot sex, an imaginative storyline and a happy ending for Conall and Josh with the promise of more to come.

Blurb: Tiernan Guaire is a Fae in exile. Forced from the Realm into the human world for the unimaginable crime of a brother’s murder, he lives by a century-old vow, to trust no one, and never to allow himself to love or be loved.

Kevin Almstead has just lost his future, to a vote of the partners at his law firm. Trying to escape for an evening, he ventures into Purgatory, the hottest all-male nightclub in Washington, D.C., where he allows himself to be seduced by a stranger with long blond hair and ice-blue eyes.

Drawn into a Soulshare bond with his intended one-night stand, Tiernan soon learns that the most ancient and evil enemy of the Fae still walks the human world, and it will stop at nothing – certainly not Kevin Almstead – to possess the magick of a Noble Fae.

Review: Tiernan was exiled from the Fae Realm 165 years ago for the unforgivable act of killing his brother. The Pattern tearing his soul in two and leaving him to roam the human Realm, only half the Fae he was. Tiernan chances upon his Soulshare completely by chance in a club and doesn’t realize it till to late. But, how can he accept his Soulshare when he can’t love? Kevin is unhappy; he has just been turned down for partner again and decides to drink his sorrows away in an impulsive act. Meeting Tiernan rocks his world more than he could ever realize, and he ends up facing his greatest fear that Tiernan will never love him.

This is an excellent Urban Fantasy story that catches you from the beginning and keeps pulling you along as more of the plot teases your interest. Tiernan committed the most horrific crime of the Fae Realm that of Kinslayer.  The punishment is severe and he ends up on the human realm with only half of his soul, meeting Kevin throws him completely and he tries to run and hide in alcohol and sex. But, he is drawn back to the man who is the other half of his soul. Kevin doesn’t know what to do when he finds himself thinking and missing Tiernan after just one night with him, but he has other things to think of when he discovers something hinky going on at work. But, when Tiernan comes back, Kevin discovers things that he never dreamed of and both man and Fae get drawn into a fight for their lives.

Tiernan and Kevin are a very interesting fit, because they are basically one soul so what one lacks the other more than makes up for. But, because of that, Tiernan is in the firm belief that he will never love and Kevin has all the love for both of them. The storyline that we get pulled into is at times brutal.  The thing that hunts them is nasty and evil and the stuff of nightmares, we also have the shady practices that Kevin uncovers at work and the complex relationship that Tiernan and Kevin share.

This is a very nice twist on exiled Fae and it has a lot of passionate sex between Tiernan and Kevin, an interesting baddie or two, gruesome descriptions, some violence, loads more hot sex, and a very sweet and happy ending that has a visitor who makes it clear that nothing is over yet and it is just beginning.

I have to recommend this if you love Urban Fantasy, fantasy, Fae, hot sex, great characters, horrid baddies and a very happy ending.
