Review: Felix Cotter, a mixed shifter, works for Englemann Insurance. He is on the case of stolen jewelry. It was a fascinating story reading how Felix connected all the dots to find out who the culprits were and why they did it.

Tyler Panterone, a white panther shifter, was a sweet kind man who was forced into the situation he found himself in. I was furious at those that took advantage of him for their own gains. The way Felix and Tyler met was intense. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. Though both Felix and Tyler’s past were sad Tyler’s broke my heart. I could actually feel his loneliness and pain as recounted what happened to his family.

This was a story that keeps your attention from start to finish. With well written scenes that seemed to flow smoothly throughout. The only thing I did not understand was why Felix had no contact with Tyler for eighteen months. I thought he would have called, visited or something. I also wished it had been longer especially at the end. With the way it ended I hope there will be another book.

Other than those things I loved it.

It was a great read with some hot sex to add spice to the story.

He rarely thinks about the time, fourteen years ago, when a boy he loved—Wheeler Ridley—left him behind. Maury Landrum, one of Tory’s employees, is a tempting morsel, but Tory can’t seem to bring himself to take the next step, even though he knows Maury would be more than willing. Something keeps holding Tory back, and then that something literally shows up on his doorstep with a reservation for the weekend.

For Tory, the past comes rushing back with a vengeance, and to make things worse, Wheeler doesn’t even recognize him. Review: I’ve read a number of JD Walker’s novellas/shorts and so I’m not afraid to say that I am a fan of both the writing style and the fun that I’ve come to expect. In fact, when I saw this book it was like a knee jerk reaction when I decided that I was going to read it.

This is about Tory, who owns a motel in a small town. He’s still hung-up on his high school crush. Then enter his high school crush… the story is simple and the outcome was charming and a lot better than I had expected. Its fun, it’s sexy and there is all manner of sexual tension, attraction and even possibly what could be classed as a love triangle.

The best part for me is that it’s named after a song! I am a firm believer that all stories have a sound track so not only was the author a draw, but the fact that music is involved was the thing that sealed it for me. I will admit that you don’t need to know anything about the Beatles to read this, the song just lends to the book’s name. However, for anyone who knows the song I guarantee, like me, you will have “Love Me Do” in your head.

Fun, sweet and charming. What more could you want, especially in a short story that is filled with plenty of action. Unfortunately, I just realised that the blurb gives away more of the plot than I think is completely necessary.

Review: Laramie has gone to Woodstock for a life experience. He never dreamed he may find more there than just a great memory or two.

This is a predictable, but sweet romance. It was kind of like being told all about Woodstock from what you see as being there as to the bands playing. I found it beautiful and nostalgic.

If you like love at first sight, nostalgic stories, 60’s history, music, short and sweet romance and a little hot man-sex this is for you.

Life has been good to both men, and though at first glance it may seem that they’re too different to make things work, the computer geek and the appliance store worker have become quite the hot pair. Review: Crank Me Down is the sequel to JD Walker’s Crank Me Up. You definitely need to go back to Crank Me Up if you haven’t already read it or else there will be some confusion and I imagine some unsatisfied readers. However, being that I’ve read and reviewed the first book, it was nice to revisit some familiar characters and see where they ended up.

This time around, the story is from the POV of grumpy computer guy, Xavier, who has been with his boyfriend, Marius, for one year. With the guys is Marius’s daughter, Sherie, and Xavier’s niece Tonya. It’s all very happy family and while the girls aren’t front and centre of the action, they are a fantastic addition.

As to the actual story line, it’s more of a HEA/summary of the guys; something which I had felt was missing from Crank Me Up. I love both Xavier and Marius. These guys are down to earth and completely likable. And when there is reference to Star Trek: TNG (well, Michael Dorn who played Worf) and a Marvel Comics character (Silver Surfer) the nerd in me was happy from the first page.

So I’m going to end with this: both stories work real nicely together. I think if I were to read them together as though they were two acts/parts of a book it would complete the experience, as one could say.

Reviewer: Tams

Review: An innocent trip to a local shop to buy batteries will change Terry’s life, again, but this time for the better. When Terry was in high school, he witnessed a seemingly brutal gay bashing. In shock, Terry was unable to move, much less respond to what was happening. Now several years later, life brings the victim of that unwarranted attack back into Terry’s life.

Ishmael has never forgotten what happened that day, or the fact that Terry just stood there and did nothing to stop the attack, or get him any help after. But the hatred he has harbored quickly evaporates when he learns that he and Terry weren’t and aren’t so different after all. Both men have struggled with life since that fateful day and finally have a chance at happiness, together.

This was a super short story about life coming full circle. It reads as an insta-love story, but if you actually pay attention to the words, a lot of time passes as Terry and Ishmael become familiar with each other over lunches in the park. You definitely need to be able to read between the lines to appreciate this love story as it grows. And while

I would love to read a longer story for these two, I thought the author did a good job of setting the stage, telling the story, and conveying the characters thoughts and needs.
If you are looking for a fast read with a decent plot and some cute romance then this is the perfect novella for you.

Review: I always wondered if men really did what they did in this book. You know screw anything that walked as long as they were young and gorgeous. Then I look around and say hell yes they do. I can see myself looking at the rest of J.D.’s books.

Trev is a forty-two year old man who slept with any young twenty something man. He was in fact pretty much a walking sex addict it would seem. Even with those around him telling him that he is in need of someone his age to stick by him for life. He wasn’t too sure but there was one that kept him looking longer.

Grant wanted to be that man for Trev, now all he had to do is to get Trev to figure it out.

This was a blast to read and I would recommend it. It has its sad parts but ended up happily ever after, or so I hope. I would love for it to be longer, because I would love to see where they go from this. It feels like I am just left hanging because I really want to know more about their future. It was a cute little story and you have got to read it.

Gorgeous men, hot sex, a little excitement and some growing up is offered in this story.

Review: This was a cute story that had a lesson in it. I had a blast reading it, although it went way too fast for my taste. I would have loved for a longer story with more about them from the very beginning to the end. However it didn’t change my opinion on the book.

Adrian and Brandon had been together for a while, that is until Brandon cheated on him. At first the normal reactions were there, then Adrian understood that part of what happened was on him also. He was a controlling jerk and needed to fix the way he treated others. If he wanted the man he truly loved back in his life, he had to fix what was wrong.

Although I didn’t agree with Brandon cheating on him, because to me there is no way in hell I would let him back, I could see part of why he did it. Although I would have just left Adrian and started over by myself and let Adrian work at fixing it. It was a cute story and I did enjoy reading it.

I would recommend reading it. It is like what would happen in normal life, so you kind of feel like you are right there with them through it all.

5 of hearts logo red on black smallReview: This is a very sweet and very cute story about the start of a relationship. I also felt that it was realistic. Barry has some major baggage from a past relationship that kept him broken-hearted and in a great deal of debt. He is the unassuming and probably very naive, he’s works as a pet groomer, taking great pride in his work, and he also volunteers at his local animal shelter every Saturday. Isn’t that sweet?? Barry is completely adorable!

Sheldon is the owner of the animal shelter. He’s had a career change and has always loved animals. He is mostly opposite to Barry. He is quiet but he knows when he must take control. He’s probably also more than a little stubborn. Sheldon has been attracted to Barry for a while now, but the timing is now right for him to make a move. Despite all of Barry’s baggage, he now works through things in his mind. Sheldon is also a sweetheart, taking the lead but going at Barry’s speed.

There are a couple minor characters too. In particular, Barry’s little sister, Trixie, is a whirlwind of energy and has only the best intentions when it comes to her big brother. The interaction between her and her husband and her and Barry is amusing to read. Again, the sibling relationship feels so natural.

If only this could be long, I absolutely adored this story!

Blurb: Carl Neilson, a forty-seven-year-old counselor at Baden Community College, meets his match in Benjamin “Ben” Brooker, an alluring artist with questionable fashion sense and a garish, multi-colored hairstyle.

Ben calls things as he sees them, including the way Carl uses his college-aged son Chester as a reason not to make changes in his life, or even to cut his hair. The truth is hard to take, but it forces Carl to look at himself in a new way, and maybe get rid of his sideburns, too.

And in the end, a haircut, a Polo shirt, and willingness to find love in unexpected places might be just enough to bring two very dissimilar men together, in spite of it all.

Review: A cute, short and sweet reawakening for an aging hippie whose bird is leaving the nest, and leaving himself to reexamine who his is and what he wants for the future.

The trouble making, and matchmaking son, Chester, sees that his dad, Carl, is not living life for himself, but holding on, maybe a bit too tightly to his son, and Chester feels the guilt and weight of that.

So….he tries to set his dad up, and boy howdy does he! Ben is rather blunt, but he achieves the job of waking Chester’s Dad up to living life for himself for once. Stepping out of his comfort zone, changing his appearance, his social life, and his love life are all things that Ben will spark Carl to do.

The Hippie Whisperer is a cute story, with a hot scene here and there, which put a smile on my face.

But taciturn, clueless nerds have never been Marius’s thing, despite their attractiveness. So, no matter how hot he may find “Uncle Cranky,” Marius leaves well enough alone.

One evening, Marius picks up Sherie from her play date with Tonya, and Xavier opens his mouth long enough to insult Marius about his parenting skills. Then later, Xavier turns up at Marius’ workplace and, instead of apologizing, further offends Marius by disparaging his work ethic.

When Xavier finally apologizes and invites Marius and Sherie to dinner, Marius, on the advice of friends and family, decides to give his nerdy neighbor another chance. Thankfully, dinner becomes a fun affair as both men get to know each other better.

But when Marius challenges Xavier to a night away from computers by going to a nightclub, both men get a whole lot more than they bargained for…and perhaps a chance at something even better…

Review: This is a nice, sweet story narrated by Marius, who lives with daughter and doesn’t have much more human company in his life. Marius’s daughter and her BFF, Tonya from across the way, make the story even cuter. Tonya is being raised by her uncle, Xavier, who lacks enough human contact that he’s become the stereotypical hermit IT sort.

Marius and Xavier don’t get along, but when they finally do, the fireworks fairly much explode. There is one particularly long sex scene (for a story of this length) which should make most readers happy, despite the fact that there is no definite conclusion at the end of the story. It felt to me as if we were cut off right before the beginning. To me this was an excellent start to a grand or whirlwind romance.

I’m a fairly new reader to JD Walker’s work and I have to say none of it disappoints.
