Review: Well, this book definitely takes a different route. It was really good, but too short. I wished that there had more background and just more story.

Grath and Zlade were twins and from a different world. They wanted mates and their mates were on Earth. James and Adam were also twins who it turned out were Grath and Zlade’s mates. Grath comes off gruff and all alpha and even a dominate, where as Zlade was alpha but not as dominate as his brother. James and Adam hated the life they had not even able to come out as gay. So when the opportunity knocks they answered.

There is only one sexual scene in this story but that one time will knock your socks off. It was a truly hot experience. There are a bit of twists and turns to this story, but it will make you wish for more. Its main plot was to get mates together, but as with most short stories, it doesn’t really have a major plot, but is a very fast-paced story. Unfortunately, it just doesn’t come off as real to me, it left me hanging.

Blurb: Elian Glinkobia is the youngest son of his family. Born on the planet, Kardalusia, he is the only breeder, the only coração, born to a family full of Kartusian warriors and soldiers. He was born with no other purpose than to be the coração of a marriage group, there to serve them in every manner that they needed. Or so he thinks. Attending his final marriage soiree, Elian believes that he will not be picked by any marriage group and is destined to live his life alone, or as a prostitute. He is beyond shocked to find out that he was chosen by the royal marriage group the year before. He is to be the coração, the heart, of the three kings, Nevin, Corbin, and Gaige.
However, things are not always as easy as they seem. Before Elian can even settle into his position as The Royal Coração, someone attempts to murder him. Placed under lock and key in the palace by his husbands, Elian begins to discover that the gods of the Kartusians gifted him with a lot more than he could have ever expected.
Will Elian’s special gifts come in handy when he needs those to save his husbands and their people, or was everyone right about his worthlessness?

Review: Well I must admit that there has been quite some imagination put in this story. The author has created a world, a planet called Kardalusia that is inhabited only by men. They society is different from what we’ve seen so far as the Kartusians are meant to form Marriage Groups of four, one would represent the body of the family, another the mind, the third the soul and the last would represent the heart that keeps them all together; the coração. As the God Andalusia has said, the heart will be the most important and cherished of them all, for he is to be the breeder, the one to bind them all. However, with the passing of millennia, things are bound to change and what was once cherished now is looked down upon and somehow scorned. The God in his know it all has given the prophecy that one day, one special coração will come to change it all, not only the status of all coraçãos in the planet, but the planet itself. But as we all know, when one good prophecy is made, a dark one rises to overthrow it.

In all honesty, I kind of liked the idea of this world, and let’s face it; I’m a sucker when it comes to ménage or foursomes. So a world created only for men, not two or three but four, it was fun. A man though being the breeder and having babies, now that was something to cringe about yet that was explained somehow by the magical nature of the Kartusians, as each and every one of them has some level of magic given by the Great Andalusia himself.

However, the story or plot if you will didn’t manage to keep that level of interest for long. I suppose when you create a world you need some space to stretch things out and time to make things stick. There were many mistakes made throughout the story that not only gave way to too much but also in some places contradicted what had previously been told.

When the story starts Elian comes off as a very insecure being. He feels scorned for being only a coração, especially since he has no other attribute that would give him some more purpose. He also has yet to find a Marriage Core and if he doesn’t by the end of the night, he’ll be faced turn himself to prostitution or remain a spinster and care for others. It is like this that we see how awful a coração’s life could be if left unclaimed, since he doesn’t have the choice to choose or keep searching for however long he wants.

But then the impossible happens and he is claimed by the Royal Marriage Core and in a blink of an eye his entire life changes and he becomes King. We also notice some kind of spirit there since he stands up for himself and doesn’t let people step on him just because he’s a coração. However this comes and goes and Elian is at some point intimidating and secure and the next incapable to even speak. He is possessed by the God himself, has been told over and again by the God that he is special, he has powers, he can do whatever he wants in the sphere of magic, but he fails to make use on them except twice and to be honest both those times were not so significant comparing to the life-threatening event in the end which we totally missed because he fainted, hence we don’t know how or why he was saved.

We are also being told in the very beginning that the Marriage Group of the special one would be special. They would be strong enough to help and protect their coração. Again, that got lost during the play of the story. Beside the fact that the marriage group was the royal one there was no real display of strength or powers. I was somehow disappointed by Nevin, he was supposed to be the head King coming from the royal bloodline and the strong one, the leader, but somehow we never saw him leading. In addition, his domineering nature was poorly displayed and in my opinion, the only BDSM-y scene involved was completely lost and unnecessary. Perhaps it was to display the trust Elian had in him, but as I said, it failed to do so. Corbin was the man in between that I never fully understood his purpose or his specialty and last there was Gaige. Now Gaige has the potential to be majestic due to his Zevinxian heritage. He had magic cursing in his blood from the very beginning and the ability to shift. Did we get to see that? No. All that potential lost and in frankly I don’t understand why. What was the point of having this incredible world and not take full advantage of. I know my imagination went wild and I was definitely expecting the powers implied to come crashing in an epic of battles, so I was really disappointed when that didn’t happen.

As for the villain of the story I don’t understand what happened there, Gaige was supposed to have revealed his identity two months prior the main scene when Elian gave birth to the triplets, I expected that they would be onto him by that point so when all chaos broke the only thing that surprised me was the fact that while in previous chapter the Kings talked about it, in the “chaos” chapter it came as new information.

Anyway, as I said previously the story had great potential that was left unexploited. The plot many holes that didn’t help the books case. The bad guy and the final ending scene were almost ludicrous. The giving birth thing was something that had me cringing and my insides churning no matter how much it was justified by magic, it simply didn’t appeal to me. I did love the intimate scenes, well most of them, but in the end I felt like this book needed more time and more work for as it is, it’s lacking.

Review: This story picks up where His Guardian Angel 03 – Angel Kin ended, with Levi, Erik and Marius getting married and will run parallel with some overlap. Marius is overjoyed to be marrying his Nephilim, but a spanner gets thrown in the works by his new fathers-in-law, and now he has to contend with four Elite guardians. Eric and Levi have both realized that the four Elite will be more to them than just guardians, but they know it will be hard on Marius to accept them and try to ease him into having them around. Axis, Brax, Ker and Jade know that the two Nephilim and the fallen angel are their mates, and they know that they will have to take it slow and ease them into a relationship especially Marius but they get unexpected help from Uriel.

This is a well written novella that shows us more of the Angelic aspects and the redemption of Marius. Marius, Levi and Erik are really happy, they are in love and are getting married but when they are presented with four Elite guardians, and Marius knows that his Nephilim will never be able to resist the pull of sex. Levi and Eric fight the pull hard but Marius discovers that all seven of them are meant to be, but that doesn’t stop the doubts or the fears they harbor. The four Elite know that they have to slot into an already established relationship and they know it won’t be easy, but that doesn’t mean that they aren’t chaffing themselves to create the bond between all seven of them.

You know, I started this book really excited. I was going to get to know Marius, Erik and Levi better after meeting them all in The Guardian Angel Series and see what would happen with the Elite guards they were given, *sigh* I am glad I got to know Marius and Erik better and got the chance to meet Axis, Brax, Keer and Jade, but, Levi I wish I had never met. Jesus. what a manipulative little shit and how proud he was of himself for wrapping the men round his little finger and such a whiny brat. I can’t remember the last time I disliked a character so much. WHAT happened? I can’t remember Levi being like this before!! Anyway, I am ignoring him. Erik and Marius are really good characters and I wish we could have spent much more time getting to know their backgrounds better, and what made them both tick more. the same for the four Elite Axis, Brax, Keer and Jade, we did get to know them slightly, but not as well as we could have hoped for. Hopefully, we will get to know them better in the future books.

I am looking forward to the future books and seeing how Marius handles going from Fallen to Elite with that special little power that he has developed. I want more from Erik as he is a spit-fire and I want to see a more solid development of the extended group and I want Levi to grow up and act like a man. Now, the sex in this is very hot and plentiful with quite a bit of verity. the storyline is good and you really do hope that they all work it out. the only thing that niggled for me was that it felt that Marius was forced into a situation that should have happened naturally.

I am going to recommend this one to those who love angels, fallen angels, nephilim, hot sex, a slightly awkward relationship and an eventually happy ending.

From the Publisher: Rook, Knight and Bishop have been searching for a fourth man to join their threesome for quite a while when Knight meets Jason, the live model in the art class he’s auditing. He thinks that Jason is the perfect man for them and his lovers Rook and Bishop quickly agree. The trick will be convincing Jason…

About the Author:  Often referred to as “Space Cowboy” and “Gangsta of Love” while still striving for the moniker of “Maurice,” Sean Michael spends his days surfing, smutting, organizing his immense gourd collection and fantasizing about one day retiring on a small secluded island peopled entirely by horseshoe crabs. While collecting vast amounts of vintage gay pulp novels and mood rings, Sean whiles away the hours between dropping the f-bomb and pursuing the Kama sutra by channeling the long lost spirit of John Wayne and singing along with the soundtrack to “Chicago”.

A long-time writer of complicated haiku, currently Sean is attempting to learn the advanced arts of plate spinning and soap carving sex toys.

Barring any of that? He’ll stick with writing his stories, thanks, and rubbing pretty bodies together to see if they spark.

My Review:  I wasn’t really sure how a book with 4 male characters was going to play out, but I was really impressed with this story. I can see why the author uses the game of chess as a comparison. The strategy and give and take in the relationships is similar to the moves each piece must take in a game of chess.

Bishop, Knight and Rook are looking for someone to join their threesome. They want someone who they can ‘play with’ (as they call it) for a year and Jason is their choice of playmates. Problem is, Jason insists that he is straight and not all that interested in sex. Unfortunately, Jason is also broke, about to be evicted from his apartment and lose his job so he tries to be a little bit more open-minded about the proposition. When Rook offers to introduce him to the pleasures of a M/M relationship, his world is turned quite upside down when he realizes he might not be as straight as he thought!

Each of these characters is completely distinct with their own voice, personality, and character traits. Bishop is, without question, the dominant force in this relationship. He is forceful, but caring and clearly loves both Knight and Rook in very different ways. Knight is a tortured artist, ex drug addict and very intense. He needs Bishop to dominate him and keep him in line and there is some light BDSM in their relationship. Rook is a sweetie and it is hinted at a couple of times in the story that one of the reasons they are looking for a fourth for their group is so that he has someone he can take care of and bond with. Bishop and Knight have a very dark and intense need for one another and while they both love Rook, he needs someone a little gentler and Jason seems to be working out fine!

I love that they author created such unique characters with their own personalities. It really helped, at the beginning, when I was first starting to get to know them all. This book is made up of a whole lot of sex, interspersed with joking and lighthearted bickering and a little bit of angst. If you are looking for lots of plot and mystery…this isn’t the book for you. However, if you are looking for well written characters with good personalities and fun dialogue that have lots of sexy fun, this is a great choice!

If I could have changed anything about this book, I would have added a little bit more back story. I really want to go back to the beginning of this threesome and see how the whole thing got started! With this being the first book in the series, I am looking forward to seeing how Jason’s part in this whole thing works out. He is a sweetheart and seems to be enjoying his introduction into the world of M/M sex.

Review: Spencer and the gang are sleeping when they are awakened by an intruder. Spencer reacts violently and forces a choice on Dallas, fuck or die. With the only choice besides death, being he has to sleep with the man, Dallas has no choice but to become a shifter. With a new addition to the household, Spencer, Ryder, Ethan, Dean and Luc have some adjustments to make, pasts to face, insecurities to acknowledge and flaws to accept or their relationships will begin to crumble.

This novella is the last in the Wolf Harem series and continues from just before the end of Dying Assassin and is filled with hot sex, jealousy and angst. Spencer screws up by biting an intruder, especially when he learns that the assassin was sent with false information, now he has to turn the man to save his life. Dallas is deep in the closet and now he has to have sex with a man to save his life. All the men, together, have to work through their problems and jealousy to come together as a real family.

I am going to be honest and say that I am in two minds as to this story.  Why? Well, it’s simple really.  Spencer and Dean got right up my nose with their attitudes towards Dallas. And, also the fact that they were all determined to force Dallas to admit he was gay. Spencer got on my nerves with his childish behavior concerning Ryder as well. It also amazed me that any of them got any work done with the amount of sex going on. On the other end of the scale, we have the abused men who are shown compassion and understanding and are offered love and support as they get the help they need. Dallas has amazing insight into Ethan and helps the little guy to admit the truth to everyone. And the love that all the men feel does shine through. So. that’s why I am in two minds.

This story is well written and it is entertaining. it has a lot of angst, frustration, anger, love, hot sex, resolution, healing and a happy ever after for the guys… but what it doesn’t have is a face to face resolution with Payton. We get told what will happen to him, but we don’t see it. So, I recommend this to those who like any of the above and also a special visit from two of our favorite authors.
