Title: Bruised, 2nd Edition Series: N/A Author: Sean Michael Genre: Contemporary Length: Novella (108 pages) Publisher: Totally Bound Publishing (October 17th 2014) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Blurb: Johnson and Billy come from different parts of the country, different backgrounds, and different places in their lives. Maybe different is exactly what they both need.
Johnson figures it’s got to be a sign when cowboy Billy shows up at his garage after hours, just as he’s about to go find someone to spend the night with. He’s horny enough that a lot of guys would look good, but Billy seems special somehow.
Billy thinks Johnson’s the hottest ticket he’s seen since he moved to California from Texas, and after a good meal and some good fun, he takes Johnson home. They both find out they’re getting more than they bargained for. Can Johnson and Billy figure out why they feel so connected and can they make it last once reality sets back in?
Publisher’s Note: This book was previously released by another publisher. It has been revised and re-edited for release with Totally Bound Publishing.
Review: Billy meets Johnson when he needs his truck fixed. Billy is a lawyer who spends more time working than on having a life outside of work. As soon as Billy sees Johnson, he thinks spending some time with him would be a good thing. Johnson sees a hot cowboy walk into his garage and wants him. He wants to have no hold barred sex with him. Along the way, the two discover they have a unique kink in common. Johnson likes to mark and leave bruises on Billy, and Billy loves to be marked and bruised by Johnson.
What follows are snippets of the daily life between Billy and Johnson. They start out as a hook up and quickly become something more. Billy needs Johnson to pick him back up after he has run himself into the ground working. Johnson needs to take care of Billy and give him what he needs. I loved that Billy never turns Johnson’s care away. Billy knows he needs Johnson, and vice versa.
This was a quick and very hot read. It gives a look into the life of a loving couple who have lots and lots of hot sex and some kink thrown in. There is no real angst or drama. The plot is simple and easy to follow. It is just a really good read for someone looking for light and super hot.

Title: The Biker’s Pup Series: N/A Author: Sean Michael Genre: Contemporary Length: Novella (74 pages) Publisher: Totally Bound Publishing (January 9th 2015) Available for early download December 12th, 2014 Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4.5 Hearts Blurb:Whip came to the Gay Riders Carnival fundraiser weekend looking for a good time, but what he found was infinitely better.
Whip always has a good time at the Gay Riders Carnival, and this year he’s hoping to meet up with some studs and top last year’s festivities. The last thing he expects when he walks into his cabin is to be nearly bowled over by a skinny lad with a bruised jaw.
Nick came to the Carnival with his so-called Master Dirk, but instead of having a good time, things moved quickly from bad to worse and Dirk responded to his safeword with a punch. Running away and hiding was Nick’s only option.
Broke, alone and not entirely sure how he’s going to get home, Nick thinks Whip is a dream come to life and he’s just waiting for the other shoe to drop. For his part, Whip is drawn to the sweet pup and falls hard for Nick over the course of the long weekend.
But what’s going to happen when the weekend is over?
Review: I really liked Whip and Nicky. Whip is this big bruiser type guy with a soft touch. And poor Nicky is just lost and scared. The two of them together give off plenty of heat.
There are mild BDSM themes, but nothing extreme. The sex is well written and hot. But I liked the relationship between Whip and Nicky. Nicky has known nothing about the good side of having a Dom.
The last dumbass he was with was abusive and was not a real Dom. Nicky has learned to be afraid. Whip changes all that. He is kindhearted and patient with Nicky. He shows Nicky how a Dom should be with a sub. Over the course of the weekend, the two get to know each other and find something they both need.
This was a sweet read with plenty of heat to make it even better.

The demands made on him have left him little time for himself. When he reads a letter from on old high school friend inviting him to stay at his place in the middle of nowhere Drake jumps on the chance. Scott is a painter who has loved Drake forever, not that he ever told Drake that.
The first order of business for Scott is to take care of Drake and make him comfortable, and make the bags under Drake’s eye disappear. As the two get closer and spend time together, feelings develop for both of them. Drake has been hiding he was gay forever, especially since he was in the spotlight. With Scott, he is finally free to be who he really is.
This was a sweet little story. I loved both MCs. They were easily likable. There was no drama or angst. Just two men falling in love with each other. Also throw in some steamy sex and it was the perfect short.

Gage is a Texan boy who has been in Australia for a month. The two hit it off right away and decide to spend Christmas together. What follows is pretty hot.

When a nasty accident leaves Braxton unable to skate for at least six weeks, he becomes Isaiah’s biggest supporter. But more than that, the accident also opens their eyes as to how they really feel about each other, and just maybe it’ll give them more than it takes away…
Review: Isaiah and Braxton are best friends who love to play pranks on each other. They are also friends with benefits. But it isn’t until Braxton gets hurt that they truly realize what they mean to each other. I loved Isaiah and Braxton. They were very cute together. They may have been rivals, but instead of tension, it just made them push each other to be better. They are always in each other’s corner and had the others back.
This was a fast-paced read with some very sexy moments. It was also an interesting glimpse at speed skating. The pranks they pulled were really funny and a little evil. The injury Braxton had pulled them together and made them admit their love for one another. This is well worth a read.

Blurb: There’s nothing like a wedding to make things interesting, for the grooms, the wedding party, the family, the friends, and even the caterer!
Sean Michael’s Hammer Club favorites Billy and Montana are back in “Put a Ring On It”, a tale that begins with the celebration of their best friends’ first anniversary. In “Building Us,” by Lynn Townsend, Eric and Temple discover that, for want of a nail, a ring is lost. In “Hold Your Peace” by Lazuli Jones, Terrence’s best friend (and best man) Michael makes a confession hours before Terrence’s wedding. In “Tony’s Tiara” by Berengaria Brown, Tony’s sister’s wedding is a never-ending saga of disasters, but Josh is there to support Tony through them all.
In “Having His Cake” by Genna Donaghy, Matty Strauss is about to cater the biggest wedding in his career, but the last thing he expects is for the groom to be his former one nightstand. In “Always a Groomsman” by M. Durango, best men Doug and Garth have to keep a wedding-day disaster at bay. In “Lake Effect” by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese, Kyle and Daniel return to their hometown to get married only to find themselves facing an obstacle course of family drama and small-town misadventure in their quest to make it down the aisle.
Review: Overall—This was a very enjoyable story. There were many that I absolutely loved. All of them were worth the read. The stories range from hot, steamy to mild, and sweet. There is something for everyone.
Put a Ring on It by Sean Michaels ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts Billy is hoping that his boy Montana wants to step up and get married like his friends have. He brings it up at the anniversary party but Montana doesn’t seem as interested as Billy had hoped.
This was a hot and sexy romp with a bit of D’s relationship and some worry between two men that have been together for a long time. I liked the fact that it showed both the emotional angst of taking the next step. My only problem with the story was that to me the dialogue seemed to be a bit juvenile at times, but having said that it was a hot and sexy story and I loved the end! A very creative and unique engagement ring.

Building Us by Lynn Townsend ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Eric has a surprise for his lover Temple. He has finished building the dream home for Temple that both are supposed to be moving into together starting a new life for themselves. He is having Temple go on the top of the roof to drive the last nail in as a symbol of their new life together and has a surprise for him while there.
This was such a lovely story. I loved the surprise and then them losing something on top of the roof. I also liked having such a complete conclusion. The only thing is at first it seemed as if this may be part of a series and I wanted to read their story of how they met, but then again it went on and went several years in the future with the conclusion so I am not sure if it was part of a series. Whether it is or not this is a very good story. It is easy to follow and left me smiling and content.

He has been in love with Terrence since high school and has decided to take one last chance to win Terrence away from Brandon. Will Terrence join Michael in his car and drive away or will he go through with the wedding?
This was awesome! I sat on the edge of my seat waiting for Terrence’s decision! I loved the characters and the tension inn this story I will definitely be looking for more from Lazuli Jones!

Tony’s Tiara by Berengaria Brown ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Tony is helping his sister with her wedding and it’s a living nightmare. She makes Bridezillas look tame. His lover Josh is helping him handle the stress the best he can. He also would like to marry Tony but isn’t sure if Tony will want to after this wild event.
I really liked this story. I loved Tony and Josh and how they handled the nightmare of Tony’s sister’s wedding. There was a bit of twist, but it all worked out in the end. I would love to see more of Tony and Josh, though I will say I am not sure I saw the significance of the Tiara, to me that sort of went over my head, unless we knew more about Tony.

Having His Cake by Genna Donaghy ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Matty is happy to have landed the contract for a very upscale and public wedding. Though with the Grooms father being a senator against gay rights other gays have been turning them down. Matty is taking a chance with his peers but wants to better his business and the bride is very sweet and pleasant to work with. Things really seem to be looking up when at the club he has a hook-up with a sexy man that is until he meets the groom.
I loved this story. It was sweet and charming with a bit of a twist. It’s hot and sexy too. A great story and I loved Matty!

Always a Groomsman by M. Durango ♥♥♥3 Hearts Doug and Garth are groomsmen at their best friend’s weddings. It seems as if they have been doing this for a while and they have forged a very good friendship. Everything is going good then the flowers don’t show up throwing one of the grooms into a panic Garth tries to console his friend while Doug finds out the problem.
This story was short and sweet. I will have to say I kept expecting more. The main focus was on the wedding and I felt the thing with Doug and Garth was thrown in as an afterthought. I would have loved to seen more with them.

Lake Effect by Erin McRae and Racheline Maltese ♥♥♥3 Hearts Daniel and Kyle have returned home to get married. Kyle’s parents aren’t happy at all about this. Not only because Kyle is gay but that Daniel is 9 years older.
This story was about the conflict between Kyle and his family and a little about Daniel and his. To me it seemed like it was a part of a series so I had a hard time relating to any of the characters. I will say I would really like to see Daniel and Kyle’s story and how they got here. I love older men/younger men relationships.

Leaving Boston and his ex-boyfriend in a cloud of dust, he heads west. Finding himself with nowhere to stay on a cold Rocky Mountain night, Watson takes a chance on a traveler’s rest, an old-fashioned place to just hang his hat until morning.
Bandy was a traveler once, too, until a desperate bout with disaster changed his life. He takes Watson in and shows the man that it’s worth picking up the pieces of a shattered life. But can he convince Watson they can make a home for both of them?
Review: Watson left Boston due to a truly crappy breakup. One night he decides to stop at a local lodge and meets Bandy. The two of them have instant attraction to each other. I liked the chemistry the two had. Both have been hurt by prior relationships, but are willing to try to find love again. And have steamy sex along the way.
This was a cute fun read. It’s about two men alone in the world finding another person to share their life with. It was well written and enjoyable.

Blurb: Together for more than six years, lovers Jason and Bryan rarely see each other anymore. Their jobs are running them ragged and keeping them apart. It’s gotten so they barely even communicate.
But a trip to a winter cabin for a long weekend, a last-ditch effort to rekindle their romance, reveals a side to the two men the other never knew existed, and their weekend suddenly includes power-play games.
Is this new aspect of their relationship doomed to fail, or will it help them find what they both need to make their lives work again?
Review: This story is part of the Winter Games AmberPax Collection and they can be read as a standalone. There are many of us out there that love the idea of our men getting spanked, tied up, and sometimes blindfolded. This story has that for you. It is a really hot little story about how two men deeply in love but letting life overpower them. They let success get in the way and they were about to lose each other to it.
Jason and Bryan had made the decision to go away for a few days to rebuild what they were slowly loosing due to the jobs that they each held. However, Bryan had a bit of trouble letting it go. They had held a secret from each other that might help them rekindle what was being lost. Jason was a Dom and Bryan was a sub.
It wasn’t until Jason had threatened to tie Bryan up that showed Jason what they really needed. A way to release the pressures of life and give them their releases that was desperately needed and desired.
I loved this little story and look forward to hearing more about Bryan and Jason. I hope that there is going to be a longer story of these two sexy men. I never really thought about stress the way that many do. I also never knew that there was a way to get release with just a hint of pain. It was fascinating to read it and learn a little more each time I do.
I would recommend reading this story especially if you love two very gorgeous men, the BDSM scene, excitement, tender stories, love so deep that you wish for more and a way to show their love. It gave me that and so much more.
Title: Joel Series: Shibari Auction House, #8 Author: Sean Michael Genre: Gay Erotic Romance/ BDSM/ Contemporary Length: Short Story (42 Pages) ISBN: 06996-02253 Publisher: Changeling Press (August 1, 2014) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥4Hearts Reviewer: Lisa
Blurb: Untried and virginal, Joel still knows that he’s looking to be pushed. He wants to give up control, but he wants to fight it as well. Auctioning himself up for six months of no holds barred subbing is the only solution he can come up with to getting what he wants.
Master Brent is immediately taken with Joel and makes sure he’s the top bidder. He believes he’s the only man for the job of giving Joel the experience of a lifetime. Can he be exactly what Joel wants? Or will Master Brent actually give Joel what he needs?
Review: This is book eight in this series and they can be read as a standalone. However, they can also be read in order. It will give you a little insight into their world. A world that is amazing and a bit strange but very good. I love the way these men can just tell what the other one needs. Although the idea that they sell themselves is a bit hard to understand.
Joel is a sweet virgin but seems to want what comes from the BDSM scene. The bonding, binding, flogging, spankings and so much more. He was a photographer but he wanted what a master can give him. He sells himself for six months of no holds barred subbing. He just needs what a Dom can give him.
Brent takes one look at Joel and knows that only he can give Joel what he truly wants and needs. He soon finds out that he is also getting what he needs.
This is a cute little story and hopefully will soon become a longer story with more about Joel and Brent. I want to know more about them and where they are headed. I hope that they end up staying together because they are hot. The story captured my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it there all the way to the end. I can only say that these two men were hot and full of passion. In fact, it made my entire day heated up.
I would recommend reading this story especially if you love BDSM, two very sexy men, virgins learning about sex, excitement and a bit of suspense for Joel.

Review: I found this shifter book to be very hot. Hot enough to singe my fingertips. I loved how he wrote this book. Grio and Phoenix are amazing couple and know how to stick through things no matter what. Grio is rather stubborn but that is what makes him a good character. Both of them come across as surprisingly real for a short story. But Sean Michael shows off his strong suit when it comes to this shifter story.
The way it is written, the story comes across so amazing. So addicting to read. I simply loved it. Loved how it flowed, loved how hot the sex was and loved how no matter what there was heart to the story. And that is what does it for me. Some heart and a good strong storyline.
I would highly recommend this story for anyone that loves to read shifters and a hot couple.

Blurb: Having both recently left Doms who just weren’t right for them, twins Christopher and Robin get together at a coffee house to commiserate. They can’t help but wish out loud for the men they’re looking for. These ideal men are as different as the twins are alike, though, and they lament ever finding two Doms to fit the bill.
When barista Core asks Robin to go to dinner with him after hearing his wish list, Christopher can’t help but be jealous of his twin. That soon changes, however, when Darren approaches his table with a few wishes of his own.
Can Christopher and Robin really both find exactly what they’re looking for on the same night? Or is it too big a coincidence to be real?
Review: This title is part of the Vive La Difference AmberPax Collection. It is not available in paperback.
This story is really cute. I absolutely loved Robin and Christopher. They are gorgeous and surprisingly twins. There are so many things about them that are identical but what they want in their Doms. When one goes through something it would seem that the other goes through the same thing or close. It had been a while since they had seen each other, so they were overjoyed when they got together at the coffee shop.
Christopher and Robin were down in the dumps. The Doms that they had been with were not right for them and they just needed to talk about it together. Christopher was a pushy little bottom who needed strict discipline and a firm hand. He responds really well to punishment and praise. Robin is a sassy pain who needs daily beatings and hourly play times. He loves spankings and is a size queen.
They just never expected anyone to ever want them and figured that to could be down together. What they had not expected was to be over heard. Core owns the coffee shop where Robin and Christopher are having the best conversation. Or so Core thinks, he has wanted the cute man for a long time so when he over hears him. Well, time to hook up. He is going to get Robin.
Now Christopher is feeling lower than ever now that his brother is off and playing. That is till a sexy man just comes up to him and lets him know that he not only heard but he was going to be Christopher’s boy. Darren could not believe that this sexy little man wanted the same thing he wanted. Things are going to heat up.
I have not really been into the hard-core BDSM scene, but Sean always knows how to write the stories that I can fall in love with. Although I would love to read more about these four. Or at least see what their futures like but I love these stories he gives. It has sexy men, twins, spankings, discipline, and sassy subs. I cannot wait to read another book by Sean.
Title: Recipe for Love, 2nd edition Series: Spice it up Author: Sean Michael Genre: Contemporary Length: Novella (59 pages) ISBN: 978-1-61124-596-7 Publisher: Amber Allure, Amber Quill Press LLC, (May 4th, 2014) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Reviewer: Eric Blurb: Jack’s life is already on a downward spiral when his teenage daughter, Rache, shows up on his doorstep, and she’s pregnant. When he takes her to confront Billy, the boy who knocked her up on her last visit, he discovers the boy’s uncle, Dan, who is not just a fine baker, but also a real stud.
Much to Jack’s surprise, it looks like Billy is going to step up and assume his responsibilities with Rache. And for Jack, now that he’s met Daniel, could it be that the rest of his life is also looking up? Of course, there’s the small matter of Daniel not knowing that Jack is actually gay…
Review: I found this story to be amazing, intriguing, and pretty hot. But I also found myself wondering what else was going on. But Sean Michael answered all my questions. One of my only problems was the fact the author didn’t take the time to bring me into the story. It seemed more like a random scene popped into the author’s head and he went from there. And as far as I can tell, he did pretty well with it.
Jack’s life is somewhat enriched but I couldn’t help but wonder if the story could have explained how he had a daughter in the first place. If he was straight, married, for a while or what.
But the more I read, the more I found myself getting to know the daughter and her situation. And then Dan stepped into the picture. Dan and Jack are living breathing characters that show their true colors no matter what. They are as real as you and me and they are awesome people. Responsible as well.
And as I read about the characters, I found myself immersed into the story unable to stop until it was done. The plot was resolved, but I found myself wishing the story would have gone longer. I felt somewhat disappointed, but still enjoyed it. I would recommend it to those that want to read a good story about a simple life experience and some fun.
Title: In Sickness and In Health Series: A Jarhead Story Author: Sean Michael Genre: Erotic Romance/Contemporary Length: Novella (80 Pages) ISBN: 978-1-61040-747-2 Publisher: Torquere Books (April 29th, 2014) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥3Hearts Reviewer: Lisa Blurb: The Jarheads back in a new adventure–a journey through sickness and health with Rock, Rig, and Dick, who stand by their man, come what may, no matter what they come down with. Colds and flu are no match for the Jarheads, who know that cold medicine’s great in its place, but the one sure cure for what ails them is good old sexual healing
Review:This is one of the Jarhead stories and they should be read in order. It would be easier to figure out who everyone is. It is a delightful story with lots of sex. It involves three very hot and sexy men.
Dick and Rock are two very hot marines and Rig is one sexy doctor. You can tell with the first paragraph exactly what type of story this is. Majorly hot is just one word for it.
Rig comes home to find his two hot and sexy men sick with the flu. After working hard at the hospital with sick patients, he comes home to take care of his very sexy men. He is really good at taking care of them, but what happens when the doc himself gets sick. As most of you know doc’s make the worst patients. This book shows how three men love one another and take care of each other. They show that they would do anything to keep each other safe and happy.
It is a pretty good book and I love the humorous parts to it. However, there wasn’t really much of a story line other than the fact that they stand by each other when they get sick. It shows how three men can make a true relationship work. It also has its kinky factor that always makes for an interesting twist.

Damon loves his life—his bar, his employees and his beer. He especially loves Thursdays. That’s when the mysterious little redhead dances into his bar, drinks two honey wheat brews, and flits right back out.
Toby’s comfortable. He has a good job, great friends, and he is paid to do what he loves—sculpt. His life is great, if a little predictable. And if he secretly wears a plug to Corner Pub every Thursday, well…that’s nobody’s business but his.
But when Toby meets Damon, his predictable little life flies right out the window. Damon shows him the big, wide world of the Dom/sub lifestyle, plugs and piercings, and teaches him that maybe, unpredictable is exactly what Toby needed all along. Sean Michael is not afraid to go there and bring you into the worlds he writes. I love his work.
Damon knows how to get under people’s skin and into their minds. He runs and owns the Pub. And as works his job, he keeps an eye on Toby a regular. Toby is one of those regular people who has almost nothing special going on for him. But when he meets Damon, he cannot help the range of emotions that flow through him.
Hot sexy and erotic, I love everything about this book. The story is hot and solid. The way Damon and Toby interact makes me want to know them more. And just when I think I know nothing about these two, I find out it is in a series. I cannot wait to start reading the next book. It is so worth the read.

Publisher’s Note: This story has been previously released as part of the Stand to Attention anthology by Totally Bound Publishing.
Review: Sean Michael has a new follower. This story was amazing and so very heart touching. Soldiers give their all and sometimes way too much. For someone to come home from being injured while fighting for our country, only to have their parents disown them because they are gay just makes me even more mad than normal.
Lane had been injured by a mine, but he did manage to save everyone else in his unit. Feeling like he was a looser all broken, he ends his relationship with Hammer, who was also his Sarge. He had lost both of his legs and his face was scared but to Hammer he was a hero. Now two years later, Hammer musters out and finds his lover. Knowing he should have put up more of a fight, Hammer knows that the fight is getting ready to hit the fan now that he was back in Lane’s life.
I would recommend this story to anyone who loves military men, sacrifice, arguments, heart filled confessions, and true love. I loved this story and will definitely be checking out the rest of Sean’s stories.

Review: This is a BDSM story, but a lighter fare than most.
Two couples, the Doms, and their boys meet for a night out at The Hammer, their BDSM club. While all intentions are for the boys to have a scene and play with each other, the two subs are feeling rather bratty and rather full of the plugs and edging torture their masters are subjecting them to. By the end of the evening, it turns out each pair finishes of their sexual encounter with a more intimate pleasure, between Dom and sub.
Nothing tremendously deep here, the writing is lacking layers and depth, but that isn’t really, what one reads this series for anyhow is it? It’s a quick kink-fest, and I do so enjoy a whimpering boy.
Blurb: New to town, werewolf Dark can’t believe there’s a restaurant called The Vegan Werewolf. Even harder to swallow is the fact that the place smells amazing. The food, however, is easy going down, it’s some of the best he’s ever had. And that’s saying a lot as it’s, unbelievably, vegan. What’s also not hard to swallow is Erik, the restaurant’s sweet chef, and Dark picks him up after the place closes.
Erik’s got a secret, though, one he keeps hidden deep down inside, and Dark threatens to bring all the things Erik has buried to the surface.
Can Dark convince Erik that there’s more to life than being a vegan? And that, just maybe, wolves mate for life?

Review: This book was definitely a surprise and I fell in love with it. Sean has such a way with words.
Dark is walking in town and comes across something that made him laugh his ass off. A restaurant named The Vegan Werewolf. Seeing as how he is a werewolf and everyone knows that wolves eat meat, he just couldn’t wrap his head around it. What was even more shocking was the owner was a werewolf.
Erik had not turned into a wolf in over ten years and never ate meat after realizing he had killed a bunny. He is a very funny character, one you will fall in love with and maybe smack him upside the head at the same time. He is just so quirky and just can’t figure out what to do with Dark. They are mates, but Erik doesn’t want to be a werewolf, however he is falling for his mate surprisingly fast.
I would definitely recommend this story to anyone who loves sexy men, hot sex, and the paranormal. I have found another amazing author who has made it to my favorite list. The only thing I really didn’t care for was the fact that it was too short of a story. I want to know where Dark came from, to learn more about Erik, and to see how they became werewolves. I want to know more about their future also.
I hope that there are going to be more books like this one.
Blurb: Allen Jameson had it all—the perfect house, the perfect partner, the perfect life—until his partner, Gary, died suddenly, leaving him alone in the real world, where life isn’t so pretty and people make mistakes. Now Allen is the owner of Sweet ‘n’ Sassy Cupcake Shop, a cute boutique downtown, where he invents delicious flavors like strawberry and French meringue. Between working long hours and making special orders, Allen barely has time to think.
Then a hunky contractor walks into his shop looking for a treat. Allen and Byron Bannigan are total opposites, but they’re perfect together—salty and sweet like Allen’s signature peanut butter and chocolate ganache cupcakes. But as Allen struggles to juggle his business and his boyfriend, he learns he can only handle so much. He may have to choose between the cupcakes in his store and the cupcake in his bed.
Review: I found myself in love with this novel from the start. It was amazing, sexy, and dynamite. The more I read it, the more I loved it. I found myself like Allen—who remained insecure when things got bad. I found it great how the two of them remained together despite the faults they faced.
The characters were perfect. Three-dimensional in my eyes. As for the plot, solid. I loved it so much. I would highly recommend it.
Blurb: Will’s a widower with three little girls, including six-month-old twins, to look after. Most days it’s all Will can do just to get home from his advertising job in time for goodnight kisses, but now his mother-in-law is leaving the country with her new boyfriend and Will needs the help of a professional nanny.
Benji loves being a nanny; looking after other people’s kids is the next best thing to having his own, and as a gay man, he figures it’s as close as he’s going to get. He’s between jobs and is thrilled when he gets the call from Mannies Incorporated to interview with Will’s family.
He falls in love with the girls right away, but also finds himself attracted to their father. Benji knows he shouldn’t moon over his boss, especially when Will desperately really needs his services as a nanny, but he can’t help but wonder what it would be like to have a family of his own.
Review: Will is a perfectly nice, overworked, undervalued, sexy, grieving widower who is rescued by an equally sexy male nanny who will step into his life, take care of him, his home, and his children. Benji, sexy male nanny will magically bring Will back to life and the two men will walk off happily into the sunset.
There is nothing new or original about this story. In fact, this story has been written many many times before. Often when reading a plotline that you’ve read before, the reader is hoping for a subtle twist, a character quirk or something that will make THIS story stand out. Truth be told, none of that is here. There is a rather quirky trait in the book in which one of the daughters’ features very heavily as a main character. It appears that the idea was to see the growth of Will as a father through the eyes of his eldest daughter who is turning three. The problem with this, however, is that the story degenerates into way too many graphic descriptions of both Will’s and Benji’s interactions with a precocious three-year old. It’s a clever idea and it works well the first few times it was done, however, after that it became very distracting to the story of the two men.
Summary: Perfectly ordinary story with nothing remarkable about either of the men or the plot. But, somewhat sweet. 🙂
