Blurb: When a new group of Assassins arrives at the Coalition, it’s up to Shane and his Assassins to test and train them. Even though the Coalition has a treaty with their normal enemies in place, there still is the problem of the pretty birds with rotted cores. After evaluating the new group, Shane isn’t sure what’s going to happen with them. To say their skills are a disaster is putting it mildly. Good thing Shane excels at disasters.
Review: This series is branched off from several other stories including Lost Shifters and Wayne County Wolves. I would start with book one in the Lost Shifters series.
Shane needs more assassins to help them fight the dino-birds but he doesn’t expect the ragtag group that came in. What idiot trained their assassin’s on just one weapon, a dead one that is for sure. Their enemy was beautiful but deadly. They needed all the help they could get, but damn these guys were in some desperate need of training.
I had almost given up on this series continuing. Shane is the top assassin with quite a bit of quirks and I have a blast reading them. This is one of those series that will be read more than once.
Blurb: Baily learned to distrust other shifters through their treatment of him. As a Housecat shifter, he’s not exactly the strongest shifter. To compensate, he’s become one of best soldiers for the Coalition. He’s made a place for himself with friends but he doesn’t truly believe they won’t turn on him. Caden learned to distrust other shifters from birth. His grandfather taught him and his brother to avoid all Packs, Clowders, and Coalitions no matter what. All those lessons will be challenged when a stray cat claims a spot in his bar and maybe his heart. Together, Baily and Caden, must re-learn the lessons of their lives. That not all shifters are against them. A trip with the leadership of the Coalition to a secret cabin might be the turning point. That maybe they can believe in other shifters, each other, and love.
Review: Each book in the Lost Shifters collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Housecats are so shifty, sneaky and they don’t trust many. Which makes them a favorite of mine. Baily is one cutie in his cat form but he is also deadly in his own way. Which is a kick for him since he feels that many see him as weak. However he is a soldier for the Coalition and has found a home. When captured he escapes and seeks refuge in a bar full of shifters, but here is the problem. He can’t shift back to his human form.
Caden and his brother own a very nice bar that has quite a bit of sifters coming him but not many know they are shifters. When a stray finds his way in and seems to want to stay, well you can imagine Caden’s expression. Imagine his expression when he finds out that the cat he is starting to care for is actually a shifter.
There were some small problems that I found in the story, however it didn’t take the story away from me. It does need some good proofreading and editing, but I know which direction the story was going so I still had a blast reading it. Talk about snarky shifters, these guys have it in spades. Exciting and danger filled is just a bit of what I got in this book and so much more. I love this world and was quite surprised when this book came out. I had thought for sure that the series had stopped for awhile. I was glad that I was wrong.
I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to read the next book. I can guarantee that this will be one of those stories that will be read many times over.
Blurb: Every time Tomin turns around, one of the leaders of the Assassin’s Loyalty is telling him how to do every little thing. How can he think anything but that he’s the screw up of the group? Maybe his master was correct, and he wasn’t good for anything.
Remus might be a sugar glider but he’s anything but sweet. That was beaten out of him at an early age along with caring for anyone other than his twin. Keeping to himself is the best for him since one day he’ll just disappear from the Loyalty.
When the threat of Tomin’s former master rears, the only thing that Remus can think of protecting Tomin at all costs. Can Remus overcome his walls to help Tomin get the best revenge? Proving to himself that he’s worth so much more than he ever realized.
Review: Each book in the Assassin’s Loyalty collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This is a branch off of the Lost Shifter series and Wayne County Wolves.
Stephani is one hell of an author. Her stories have amazing depth to them and the characters are drool worthy. The worlds she creates are one that I would love to live in. They just grab your attention and keep it there till the very end. She also gives you characters that have strength but not just physical. Some of her characters have been through hell and deserve the ending they get.
Tomin is a tiger shifter and an assassin. He is also one of the youngest so he has to deal with the leaders driving him nuts. He thinks that he is not worth anything but always ready to crack a joke. However his past always keeps stuck in his head. And now it looks like his past might be coming back to get him.
Remus is a sugar glider and a twin. He learned early on how to block certain things from his brother and one of them was the way he had been treated by their family. Or I should say one certain family member who wanted to teach them to be assassin’s. He feels like certain parts have been beaten out of him, and his emotions are one of them.
You put these two together and things are going to get real interesting. Now all they have to do is to stop the danger coming for Tomin and to get their hearts to realize that they are perfect for each other.
I think Tomin is one of the best characters that I have read for this particular series. There is just something about him, that even though he is an assassin he still has a big heart. He was taken down but got himself right back up. I enjoyed reading this book and can not wait to get my hands on the next book. Way to go Stephani, another hit with me.
Blurb: Former sex slave and current rent boy, Pagan is on the run from almost every shifter in Michigan. He has a huge bounty on his head and now he’s worth more dead than alive. But, what he doesn’t know is that he has some powerful allies who want to save him and they want him found immediately. But, he so busy running from the bad guys that he’s not making it easy for the good ones to locate him.
When the members of the Assassin’s Loyalty agree to help locate the errant missing Jaguar, the last thing Brian expects is to find himself attracted to Pagan. But that’s exactly what happens. But evil forces continue to hunt for Pagan and they refuse to back down. Will Brian be able to protect Pagan or will he be lost just when he’s finally been found?
Review: Each book in the Assassin’s Loyalty collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This story is a branch off of Lost Shifters, WAyne County Wolves, Coalition Training Academy and Shane’s Chronicles. I would start with book one in the Lost Shifter series.
Pagan had spent most of his life as a sex slave until his best friend got him out. However with no money it meant he had to survive by selling his body. It placed him in danger pretty much each time and many took advantage of him. He wasn’t exactly squeaky clean but he was still a sweet young man. However those he had been around were dead and someone wanted him to follow. He has to trust someone.
Brian was an assassin and was one of the good guys. When he was sent to find Pagain, he knew that he was the man for him. There were some pretty big surprises and one of them was who Pagan truly was. To bad Pagan had no clue.
What a fascinating tale and I loved the twists this story gave. It was a pretty big surprise to find out who Pagan was. The story gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. It gave me excitement, adventure, action, danger and some pretty sweet sex. I loved the characters and how protective Brian was with his mate.
I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book. I will also admit that this is one of those stories that will be read more than once and I would guarantee that you will fall in love with these stories as well.
Blurb: Fox shifter, Kacey, always has the knack for finding trouble. But, he gets more than he bargained for when he hacks in the feline Coalition’s computers and gets caught. He’s used to his cruel Alpha and is expecting the worst to happen him. Instead, Mitchell invites him to join the Academy. Kacey is excited about the new turn his life has taken, but scared, too. He thinks he’s going to be the only Fox among a sea of felines.
As soon as Jax meets Kacey, he likes him. Jax knows how it is to be alone and scared. Jax and his friends take Kacey under their wing and show him what true friendship is about. But, Kacey is in more danger than Jax ever believed. Will Jax be able to save his new friend? Or will Kacey’s past ruin his bright future?
Review: This series is branched off from the Lost Shifters, Wayne County Wolves, Assassin’s Loyalty and Shane’s Chronicles. So I would suggest reading those books first.
Kacey has big problems, one of them is going against Carson. He thought it would be cool to screw around with the coalition, but in the end they were the ones to catch him. With his new friends, he is about to find out more about his old pack.
As usual Stephani Hecht has given us a great read, but there are some problems with the story. Mainly it is misspelled words that should have been caught early on. Other than that it is a fun story that caught my attention from the start. I get a kick out of the kids and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Blurb: Nightmares, panic attacks, and studying, oh my! Jax’s life hasn’t found its new normal yet. Things have quieted some since the Assassin attack, but Jax and Alvus are still feeling the effects. Sleepless nights can lead to stupid mistakes. But going to the movies one weekend with his friends requires an armed guard – what is he, the president now? That isn’t a mistake, and if he overlooks the soldiers, it’s an amazing time. Finding out his family history starts to make Jax question who he really is until a few of the adults around him remind him that it’s not blood that counts. It’s decisions and heart.
Review: Jax is having panic attacks after what his father had done and the assassin’s attacking. He just wants to get back to normal, but then again if it did Alvus wouldn’t be sleeping with him. He had like Alvus but never expected the shifter to like him back. Boy is he in for a surprise.
I actually thought this series would focus on other characters but so far Jax is it. I am not really sure if I like it or not. This is more of a young adult type read with no sex in it. Stephani sure does have a way with her stories that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Even though there is no sex, there are some cuddle sessions and lots of kisses, not to mention danger involved.
I can’t really say I like this story or the series, I seem to have read it out of order and got a bit distracted. It just seems a bit dry and no I am not talking about sexy time. It is just hard to connect with the kids and their story. I guess we will have to wait to see what other future stories will come out with.
Blurb: Jax defies his father and joins with the Coalition’s Academy to train as a future soldier. But, that isn’t the only obstacle in the young Lion’s way. He is small, a dork, and the furthest thing from fighting material. He is determined to not let that get in his way. He vows to prove his father wrong and become an asset to the Coalition.
But, as his world changes, Jax begins to doubt his decision. He’s worthless when it comes to fighting. He has to adjust to life away from home, and his only friend is Ava. Will Jax’s self-doubt be his downfall, or will he be able to overcome it to become the shifter he always dreamed of?
Review: Each book in the Coalition Training Academy collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This is a branch off of the Lost Shifter series and is a young adult type of book. Which means pretty much no sex, because they are kids.
I have read the Lost Shifters series as well as the Wayne County Wolves and Assassin’s Loyalty series, which are branch offs as well. So when I saw this I knew I had to grab it, however I did not take into consideration that the soldiers were just kids, so there was no juicy sex in it. However Stephani does not let her reader’s down.
Jax’s parents are not easy to get along with. They are shifters but his father hates that part of them. He is a mean asshat who makes Jax’s life hell. Now it is time to decide a human college or the academy. He wants to be a soldier and will do everything he can to get it. He is a surprise though, even as a lion shifter he is on the small side.
As with most kids when they make a decision, whether it is right or wrong, their hearts take on a bit. He fears that he will let the coalition down because he is small and can’t fight. However he is going to be very surprised and so will you.
I get a kick out of the characters in these stories; they are entertaining to say the least. Take Shane, he is small with an angel face, and is a skilled assassin. Never let size determine you future. I loved this story although I wished the kids were not kids, but hey cannot get everything we want. I just hope to hear about them in the future when they find their mates.
I had a lot of fun with this and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. I would definitely recommend this story and the previous series as well.
Blurb: It’s holiday season, and the students at the Coalition Academy are excited about the upcoming break—all of them, that is, but Jax. Since the Lion shifter’s parents disowned him, Jax has no home to call his own. While his best friend Ava invited him to come home with her, Jax worries he will just be an unwanted addition to her family.
Shane, Trevor, and Ava are determined to prove Jax is anything but unwanted. They think of him as one of the family and love him. But can Jax let go of his doubts to believe that, or is he going to have a very unhappy holiday?
Review: Each book in the Coalition Training Academy collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This is a branch off of the Lost Shifter series and is a young adult type of book. Which means pretty much no sex, because they are kids.
Ever since Jax’s family disowned him, things have been up and down for him. He needed new clothes since he has grown a bit more and Christmas was coming up. Jax knows his best friend wants him there with her and her fathers, but he is still not to sure. He also wants the boy he loves with him. So our very own fierce assassin and his family are determined to show Jax that he is not only wanted but very much loved.
This is a very cute story and a bonus was added in the end. So two short little stories to give you an added bounce to your step. Stephani has always amazed me at the worlds she creates and the characters she gives you to fall in love with. It is entertaining and very exciting, with just a hint of what could be going on behind the scenes. With a kiss there and a hug here, makes you just wish they were ready for that stage. I have always loved these books and this was no different.
I had a lot of fun with it and can guarantee that you will also.
Blurb: As Corey and Flip just find their way back together a grave danger threatens to tear them apart.
Nearly a year ago, Flip and Corey shared a passionate encounter. Or at least, Corey thought it was passionate. Since, Flip walked away, without even so much a glance back, he never could be for sure. All Corey did know for certain was he has a strong attachment to the Beta which can’t be denied.
Flip yearned for Corey ever since they’d been together. But, Flip dare not act on his feelings. Flip has a secret. One so, dark, explosive and terrifying it threatens not only Flip but every Dire Wolf in the world.
Review: Each book in the Dire Pack Reborn collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Flip’s past is coming to get him. He found something to show his uncle, only for his uncle to betray him. Should have known the man was no good, but he trusted his uncle not to do what he was going to do. He took the item and ran, hoping for some kind of luck to find him. What he found was a Dire Pack that took him in. To bad his lies were about to come back to bite him in the ass.
Corey was a beta wolf for his pack and one night of passion with Flip made him want for more. Then things heat up between them, the truth comes out. He doesn’t know which way to turn and his relationship with Flip might just not survive.
I came across Stephani Hecht when she wrote her first book in the series Lost Shifters. From that point on I knew that she would become a favorite of mine, and I was right. The worlds she created for the Dire wolves is amazing, terrifying, dangerous and exciting. The characters are fully developed and damn they are hot. With Flip I could see why he did what he did both times and why he didn’t want anyone to know. His heart is big and you can see his fear.
I enjoyed reading the story and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. It is a fascinating series that will catch your attention and keep it there till the end. I had a lot of fun and would definitely recommend this book.
Blurb: Omega, the name has always been associated to the weakest in the pack, the lesser than, the ones who were the least desired. But, what if all that isn’t true? Enter the world of the Omega Wars, where Omegas not only save the day, but can one day rule the world.
For the past two years, Coyote shifter Elijah’s life has been hell. His father, the pack Alpha is embarrassed by his son’s status as an Omega and locks him in his room. The ruler says he doesn’t want his Omega son, who is also gay, to infect the rest of the pack members. Elijah learns to accept his fate and to live the rest of his life in isolation. Until, the local Bear Clan makes a treaty with the Coyotes in order to fight a common enemy. There is just one catch, the Clan’s leader, Kayden is to be mated with Elijah.
Kayden knows finding an Omega will help solidify his Clan. As a new Alpha, Kayden sometimes flounders and needs the extra help. What Kayden doesn’t expect is to find himself drawn to the timid, standoffish Omega. Yet, as hard as Kayden tries, he can’t crack through Elijah’s shields. Time is running out, though, as Elijah struggles to grasp that he may hold a great power that can change the tide of the war and their happiness.
Will Elijah learn to trust and open his heart to Kayden? And will Elijah be able to accept what power a true Omega has? Or will they fall to the enemy and be lost forever?
Review: I came across this author a few years ago when she wrote the first book in The Lost Shifter series and knew that she would become a favorite author of mine. I have not been let down yet, at least with the paranormal romance stories.
There is nothing better than a good romance that involves the paranormal world. This story is quite unique, different from wolves and feline shifters. You have a group of coyotes, bears, wolverines and even foxes. My attention was captured with the first line and kept all the way to the end. The story is strong and fierce, just as the characters are.
Elijah was caught kissing another boy, and his father went crazy. Pip was whipped and sent away to die, but Elijah was held hostage in his room. Elijah is an omega as was his mother, and omega’s are thought to be weak and should be dead, according to his father. He believed it after hearing it for so long. Then his father decided to give him to a bear clan as a peace treaty.
Kayden was fascinated with the little omega ever since he saw his picture. This was to keep peace between the two groups, but once he finds out exactly what had happened to his little mate, lets just say he would love to see some blood. There are a few more twists to this story that is going to make the story rock even more.
The characters were a blast to read, and I am glad that they were paired off. They seem to just make it work, now if only Elijah’s father and brothers would disappear. I had a lot of fun reading this and can not wait to get my hands on the next book.
Blurb: As an Assassin, Luke has learned to trust only a limited number of shifters – his fellow Assassin’s Loyalty members. When he makes a promise to one of his few friends’ new mate, Conner, to find the Mountain Lion that saved him, Luke had no idea that his world is about to change. Calvin knew he couldn’t let the slavers capture his friend Conner – a rare Koala shifter – so he sacrificed himself so Conner could escape. After he killed his first master, he ends up on the auction block losing what little dignity he had left. He didn’t think things could get any worse until he’s purchased by an Assassin! Both Luke and Calvin quickly find out that the other changed his world for the better – however there is a pesky problem of a bounty on Calvin’s head and why would Mitchell from the Coalition be visiting the mansion to speak only to Calvin?
Review: Each book in the Assassin’s Loyalty collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. In fact I would suggest starting with Lost Shifters and Wayne County Wolves. This series is in fact a branch off from those.
Every once in awhile you find an author that can give you a world that would be perfect to live in. I came across Stephani Hecht awhile back when she had written the first book to one of the original series that leads into this story. I knew from that moment that she was going to be one of my favorite authors of all time, if not the top one. There is something about the way that she writes that not only draw you in but keeps you there. She gives you hot sex, lots of love and tenderness, mixed in with excitement, adventure and lots of dangerous situations. Any where from bigots to evil scientist bent on experimenting on shifters. They are not only the perfect length for me, but they are so full of detail that it feels like you are right there with them. They not only entertain you but captivates you throughout the whole story. For me once I start reading I can’t move until I find out how they end. Her characters are also very fascinating and unique to me.
The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. To me there is nothing better than a good romance, but when it is a paranormal then it hits higher marks to me. I love them especially when there are some gorgeous men in some kinky situations.
Conner had been saved by his mate and desperately wanted his best friend to be found. So when a clue came in Luke decided he was going to save Calvin. He saw that picture and knew he wanted that man for himself.
Now I would have thought a mountain lion would be hard to keep control over, and I guess Calvin’s last master found that out. Now he was going to be sold again, and this time to an assassin. He was about to find out he was in for big surprises along the way. There are so many surprises I was even left with my mouth open.
I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series that you can’t put down and have to read more than once. It is the perfect story for me and gave me all that I needed. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. I had a blast reading it and I can’t wait to read the next story.
Blurb: Being apart from the one you love is the hardest thing to do, until you get them back to find they’ve changed…
PJ Ross Ervin is part of an elite force of rescue men from the Air Force. Only the best of the best make it through the program and get to wear the maroon beret. As such, he is proud of what he does and is happy to serve his country. The one drawback is that it takes him away from his long-time lover, Aden. Thankfully Ross’ deployment is over and he’s coming home.
Aden is excited to see Ross. But he can’t help but notice that his partner is having trouble adjusting back into the civilian world. Plus, there is the looming danger that Ross could be deployed again at any time. Will Ross have to leave to serve his county once more? And if so, can the pair survive the separation yet again?
Review: This book has been previously published by Pride Publishing as part of the Aim High anthology.
I really wished that this was longer, because all it did was wet my appetite and left me wanting more. I am normally not one that really likes short stories, but there is just something about it that had me loving it. I mean I do wish that it was longer and with a happily ever after ending, but there is hope.
Aden and Ross are a couple, truly in love. Aden is a paramedic and Ross is a PJ. Now that Ross is home from his tour, he is having some difficulties adjusting. Aden just doesn’t know how to help him.
Now for many of us who know a bit about the military, then they get sent out more than once. In horrible places and lots of danger. I felt for them both but more for Aden because he feels that he can’t help his lover. However Ross can make your heart hurt also. I can tell you that other than the fact that it is short, it comes off as a strong story. I had a lot of fun reading this and look forward to reading more by Stephanie. She never does disappoint when she writes.
Blurb: Sometimes, to save another, you have to look at your own weaknesses first.
Ever since Nicholas saw the small Dragon in chains in the scrying bowl, he knew that he had to save him. For some reason Nicholas is drawn to the other man and he won’t rest until he knows he’s safe.
Tommy has been a captive from the day he was born. When he is rescued by Nicholas he feels an instant connection to him. But Tommy is afraid to let his guard down and let anybody get close to him.
Can Tommy overcome his abusive past? Or will it doom him and Nicholas from finding love?
Review: Each book in the Dragon’s Soul collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Over the years you come to cherish and love certain authors more than many others. It is the way they tell a story that will have you wishing you were right there with them. And sometimes you wished you were the one falling in love. This author has moved up the line to be one of my top favorite authors and from the way her stories are told, she will probably stay there.
Her characters are quirky as hell; protective to the point of, well, you can guess that answer. I still have my ultimate favorite ones but many start to work their way into my heart. Her stories also are full of action, suspense and danger plus some hot sexy time for our guys. They catch my attention the moment I start reading and keep it all the way to the very last word. This story gave me everything I could ask for in a story and so much more.
Tommy is a beautiful dragon, whose mother sold him into slavery. For dragons that is punishable with death. Nicholas knew from the moment he saw him in the scrying bowl that this man was for him. Now he just has to get Tommy to believe and trust.
This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break or when you just need the sun to shine for you. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.
I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story.
Blurb: From the Lost Shifter World comes an exciting new series, Assassin’s Loyalty.

Once, he was rid of his master, Raider, along with some of his Assassin friends started their own free-lance group that works out of Flint. That still doesn’t mean that Raider sees himself as anything more than a hardened murderer and he feels as if he is an emotionless shell.
Koala shifter, Conner, just barely escaped when slavers attacked his family home. Betrayed by his brother and with his parents dead, he is on his own. That is until Raider finds him. Conner feels an instant attraction to the Assassin, but Raider keeps pulling away. Conner, also, has a secret. One that is so big, it will shake the entire shifter community. Can Raider overcome his reservations and give in to his feelings? Or will he and Conner have to pay the ultimate price?

Conner is a rare koala bear shifter who has lost his home, family and everything he has. The problem is his own brother was the one who sold them. His one way to fight back was to prove what was going on by taking pictures. Too bad it got him caught in the end. However his luck is about to change. Raider is one hell of a sexy tiger shifter who just happens to be an assassin. His group lives close to Shane’s but separate. They do free-lance work that doesn’t take the lives of innocent. However on one of his jobs, he just happens to find his mate. Wow now his life is about to get just a bit more exciting.

When Dixon and Carson meet during a hurricane, neither imagined that moment would be the beginning of a new relationship.
Dixon White owns Billy’s Diner in Brevard County, Florida—right down the road from Patrick Air Force Base. He serves a lot of the servicemen and their families who live and work on the base and does it in honor of his brother who served as a SEAL until a motorcycle accident ended his life. When Dixon finds himself stuck in a broken down car just as a hurricane hits the area, he’s not sure how’s he going to get home.
Master Chief Sergeant Carson LaSalle is headed to the base when he drives by Billy’s Diner. He sees Dixon’s car there and stops, checking to see if everything is okay. He takes Dixon home, but can’t stop thinking about him.
After the hurricane blows through, both men meet again and the sparks fly. Possibilities open up for them to have a chance at finding love. They just have to be willing to try.
Tams ♥♥♥♥4 Heart review:
Carson LaSalle has had his eye on Dixon White since the day he got stationed at Patrick Air Force Base. When a storm hits and Dixon’s car breaks down, Carson finally has a reason to not only spend some time with Dixon, but to finally ask him out on a date. The two hit it off and soon sparks fly.
There was a lot of meat to this short story. Chase gives the reader a brief glimpse into Dixon’s life, his past, and why he owns the diner and makes it his mission to take care of others. Carson was just the perfect addition for him, a man who would be proud to stand by his side.
I would read a full length story for these two, would be nice to get a glimpse into Carson’s background.

Tams ♥♥♥3 Heart review:
Ross and Aden have been together long enough that Aden knows what to expect from Ross’s career as a military man. When Ross comes home on leave, they use their time wisely to get reacquainted with one another. But this time Aden notices that Ross is having trouble leaving the job at the door. With another deployment looming, Aden worries for Ross more than ever, but supports his man regardless.
My favorite things about this short story were the yellow ribbons first off. As a former military wife and a military brat, I can appreciate that little addition. When Ross opened the cabinet and found the spools of ribbon, I smiled, that was perfect. And then Aden finally being accepted to the Wives group, which needs a new name by the way with the influx of same-sex military couplings.
Cute story though.
‘Venetian Skies’ by Morticia Knight
No one wants to lose a love that’s meant to be. Air Force test pilot, Chris Pierce, returns to Italy to discover that second chances are the sweetest.
They had a love that was the real thing, but Chris, an Air Force test pilot, returns to Aviano Air Base in Italy to discover that the only man he’s ever loved is still there. Yet wasn’t that why artist Brandon had dumped him? Because he didn’t want to be tied down to one place or one person?
Brandon made a huge mistake. It wasn’t until Chris transferred out of the local military base that he realizes what they had together was the real thing. Even though he’s never settled in one place for very long, he couldn’t bear to leave the town of Aviano where he and Chris were so happy together.
Chris unexpectedly returns and Brandon is devastated when Chris rejects him out of anger. Can’t Chris see how much Brandon has changed in the two years they’ve been apart?
Second chances are the sweetest and love that’s meant to be doesn’t die. But when a MiG fighter jet gone rogue shoots Chris down, will their second chance be taken away forever?
Tams ♥♥♥♥♥5 Heart review:
Chris is an Air Force pilot returning to the base he left when his former lover broke his heart. Since Brandon was such a free spirit that refused to be tied down, Chris is certain his ex is long gone from Aviano. His first night out at their old favorite haunt, Chris runs into Brandon. Well, more like Brandon is searching for Chris. With the pain of the past still fresh in Chris’s heart, can Brandon convince him he was wrong, to give them another shot at happiness?
Okay, I need a full novel for this one. I would love to see where Chris and Brandon started, where everything went wrong and then beyond this short story to the chaotic future I’m certain they have. What Knight delivered with Venetian Skies was a synopsis of a story that only made me thirsty for more.
Short, Sexy and Steamy!
‘Search and Rescue’ by Jenna Byrnes
Two parajumpers freefall into a stealthy relationship before considering how quickly it might come crashing to an end.
Airman First Class Matthew Billings has almost completed a grueling two-year training program on his way to becoming a Pararescueman in the Air Force Special Operations Unit. On a mission to rescue a child lost in the Pecos Wilderness of New Mexico, he meets Master Sergeant Drake Bogart, a man who is as infuriating as he is handsome.
When Matt spots the child and Drake gets the credit, sparks fly, in more ways than one. But with graduation just a few days away, is their fledgling relationship over before it even gets started?
Tams ♥♥♥3 Heart review:
This short story has potential to be an enemies to lovers type of story. Matthew Billings is climbing the ranks as a Pararescueman and holding his own, to spite Drake Bogart taking all the credit.
When Drake goes against Matthew’s preconceived notions and not only admits his attraction to the Matthew, he takes him home and seduces him, it looks like the perfect friends with benefits relationship might be forming. Until Drake says something stupid again.
This story had potential, but I had trouble liking Drake. He came across as cocky and arrogant and even when he apologized, I just never warmed to the character. There were some sexy times and I liked that Matthew stood his ground with the more dominant Sergeant.
I think this one definitely needs to be a full story so things can be elaborated and expanded on.
‘Live for the Day’ by Sarah Masters
Loving your best friend is easy. Telling him you do…well, that’s the hard part.
Michael and Steven grew up together—just them, no girls allowed. They’d always planned to join the military, but when it came time to sign up, Michael couldn’t do it. For years, Michael has worried every time Steven is out in the desert, risking his life to serve and protect. He dreads the day Steven won’t come home.
Steven has been through a dreadful ordeal on duty, and while in the hospital, he’s had time to think about what’s important in life. He misses Michael—needs to get back home to be with him—and he has something he wishes to say, something he’s held inside as far back as he can remember…
When the two men reunite, revelations are the name of the game. There is no question they’ve always loved each other, but now that they have the chance to express that love, will they?
Tams ♥♥♥♥♥5 Heart review:
The way this particular story started reminded me of old Hollywood love stories. Seemingly unrequited love. Seeing your love coming toward you, certain it’s a dream or a mirage, and yet, he is real.
Michael is sitting in his favorite café missing his best friend Steven something fierce, wishing he were there so Michael could finally be honest with him about how he feels when suddenly, and Steven is there. Between the long absences that are driving Michael insane with worry, and Steven being hurt during his last deployment, both men are done dancing around the truth.
Oh but I love this story the best of them all. I could see Michael sitting in the café, staring out the window, longing for Steven to ride in on a white horse, and then they could ride off into the sunset together. Though it was far removed from that that was the feel of the story. Once these two were finally honest about their feelings, things got a little steamy.
This is another one I’d love to read going back and giving more details of their friendship and the years of them growing closer even if they were apart, then go forward and show their happy life together.
Le Sigh.

Sometimes the best laid plans are meant to be thrown way off course.
Hunter planned his life very well. He’s got his position in the Air National Guard, the family he’s always wanted and a life most people would love to have. Except he’s not happy. His friends all know his truths, but them knowing about his sexuality and him admitting it are two different things. Thankfully Ryder—his best friend—has always got his back.
Ryder has loved Hunter since they were in school. He wants to have more than Hunter’s back—he wants everything. Forcing his Guardsman to come out as a gay man wasn’t on his agenda, but Ryder isn’t above a bit of gentle nudging.
Will the things Hunter can’t control be his undoing, or will he accept who he is as well as the love he’s craved all of his life?
Tams ♥♥♥3 Hearts review:
This one was a little odd for me. Ryder and Hunter have been best friends forever, and that is about how long Ryder has been in love with Hunter. He is respectful and keeps his distance, hiding his true feelings while Hunter tries to convince everyone, including himself, that he is straight. When they finally face their feelings, it seems like a HEA is in the works. Not so fast… both men teeter back and forth to the extent that I almost got whiplash.
I liked that Hunter was adamant that he remain true to the commitment he made to those two little girls, but the I love you too, wait… I have to take care of the girls. I want you too… wait, I can’t come out. Ryder understands and doesn’t push. Then when Hunter changes his mind and wants to come out and be true, Ryder starts pushing Hunter away.
There was potential here, and a little bit of angst would have been fine, just too angsty for my taste.

Title: The Wolf Whisperer Series: Wayne County Wolves, #14 Author: Stephani Hecht Genre: Paranormal/Shapeshifters/ Werewolves Length: Novella (58 Pages) Publisher: Extasy Books (August 15, 2015) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts Blurb: Sometimes fighting ones destiny can lead us to our future.
To Go Feral. It is what every Wolf fears becoming and what every Wolf fears seeing. Feral Wolves are chained up, ostracized, feared or just plain out murdered. So, when Chris has one of his best Wolves, Burt, go feral on him, he is distraught. On his last wits he calls in a mystic healer, a Wolf Whisperer.
Knowing from near infancy that he was to walk the lands as a Wolf Whisperer, Cree has led a lonely life. Then he meets Burt. As he slowly brings the Wolf back to life, he finds himself attracted to Burt like no other. But theirs is forbidden romance.
Will Cree and Burt be doomed from the start? Or will love find a way?
Review: Each book in the Wayne County Wolves collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
The very first book in this series was the first book that I had read by this amazing author. I was impressed then and I am still impressed. There is just something about her characters, story and the way they mix with each other. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their family and friends with their entire lives.
Burt was a great friend, even though his life was a bit hard with his family. His father was an ass, and he was hurt for it. He was a great friend to the alpha and many of the others, so when he went feral they were shocked. Throughout it, almost ferals are killed or at least imprisoned, but Chris knew he had to find a way around it. So he brought in Cree.
The thing with Cree is that he has the hots for Burt.
Cree has always been a whisperer and knew he could help Burt. He just hadn’t expected to fall for the guy. In his life he was told he could never mate, but with Burt’s help he finds out that not everything is the way it should be.
This is a very fast paced story. The only thing I find repetitive is the war with Rand. It just gets to be a bit old although the ending is a bit different. Even with that, the story was pretty much what I wanted. I was amazed with this story and look forward to reading more by Stephani. It has a touch of humor in a story that has a serious tone to it.
I would definitely recommend this book and the ones before it. It was amazing and I had so much fun reading it.

Title: Catnip and Hockey Sticks Series: Stray House Hustle, #1 Author: Stephani Hecht Genre: Erotic Romance/Shapeshifter/ Paranormal Length: Novella (57 pages) Publisher: Extasy Books (January 1st, 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥4 ½ Hearts Blurb: The most painful thing of all is to have what you want the most to be within you grasp, yet you are forbidden to touch it.
When the council names Hansen the Alpha of his Stray pack of Cat shifters, at first he is reluctant. His father, the former Alpha, hadn’t exactly been a good example, so Hansen feels as if he doesn’t have a clue. But to his surprise, he finds that he is actually good at the job, and he soon has a thriving pack.
One of Hansen’s steadfast rules is that he never favors one member of the pack over the other. They are all treated as equals, and that plan works out perfectly, until Hansen finds a homeless runt who needs a home. One who is sexy, alluring and draws Hansen in—Nevel.
Nevel didn’t even know he was a Cat shifter until he first transformed into his animal form. Kicked out of his home, he drifts around until Hansen takes him home and gives him sanctuary. Before long, Nevel finds himself in love with the Alpha, but no matter how hard Nevel, tries Hansen won’t give Nevel the time of day.
Will Hansen ever take Nevel as his mate? Or will Nevel be destined to live the rest of his days with a broken heart?
Review: Hansen, alpha of stray cats, thinks treating his mate like he would anyone else in the pack is a good idea. Nevel, Hansen’s mate, has other ideas. It broke my heart to see Hansen deny Nevel over and over again.
I think Hansen was wrong in treating Nevel the way he did at first. There was a chance Nevel would’ve left after getting fed up with it. Loved the details of the story.
Fantastic read. Highly recommended.

ISBN: 978-1-78430-326-6 Product Link: https://www.totallybound.com/passion-under-fire Reviewer: Lisa Review: This is book three of the Unconventional Chicago series and I have to tell you that it was one hell of a great read. These books can be read as a standalone story.
I was amazed with this story even though it had me tasting for more. It left me wanting to know more about what was going on and wanting to know if Georgio and Tito make it out alive. It left me hanging with that. The characters were not only beautifully written but there was so much strength in them all.
Tito needed money to keep his brother safe and healthy. His brother needed a doctor and soon. He knew the only way to get that kind of money was to become a runner for a mob boss. What he had not expected was Georgio. Georgio was one of the brothers who ran the mob business.
However, he was not a bit like them. He wanted a way out and he knew he wanted Tito with him. Talk about surprises when Tito and his brother go to the resistance and find Georgio there along with his best friend. They had a plan to get out, now if only they could stay alive to do it.
I couldn’t believe that there are people out there that actually go through this, but you know there is. I loved how Georgio tried to keep his people safe, even if it meant betraying his brothers.
I loved this story. It gave me the perfect amount of angst, danger, pain, love, and fear. It gave me everything I could want in a story and in fact, it gave me even more.
I would recommend reading this book, you won’t be disappointed. My attention was caught with the first sentence and kept it there all the way to the end.

Blurb: Sometimes it hurts to give up a past love to embrace a new one, no matter how good you know it is for you.
Tate has always liked to stick to his living quarters and mind his own business. But when his friend, Zaid, comes to him asking for help to find Walsh, Zaid’s drug-addicted friend, Tate feels like he has no choice but to say yes. They eventually find Walsh—filthy, stinky, emaciated, and at death’s door. Zaid puts him in rehab and hopes for the best.
Six months later, Walsh comes back. Not only has he cleaned up his act, but also he has cleaned up his looks. Tate can’t help but be drawn to this new version of Walsh. But he also can’t help but worry that it’s too soon for Walsh to start a new relationship. Will Tate and Walsh find a way to be together? Or are they doomed to forever be apart? Purchase Link: http://www.extasybooks.com/touching-tate/ Review: This is book eleven in this series and they need to be read in order. It not only lets you know who everyone is but an awesome series all the way around. I love the way the characters come together.
Walsh was a ferret shifter and a drug addict. He was slowly dying from the drug tar. He used to keep the pain away, not only the physical pain but also the memories of his past. He had been kicked out by his grandfather when he had found out that his grandson was gay. Taken in by Zaid he had gotten mixed up with the wrong group and gotten addicted. It had gotten to the point that Zaid and Tate had tracked him down and put him in a rehab center for shifters with addictions.
Six months later Walsh was back with the pack. When he comes across Tate again, he has found another reason to stay safe. The other was he wanted to fight for his pack to keep everyone alive. He took a true look at Tate and saw something in him that made him want to believe again and to keep his word of not relapsing. It is a hard road to follow but Tate knew Walsh could do it.
Tate knew the second time he saw Walsh that he wanted this man for his mate. He believed in him and would stand by him no matter what. When they had went and talked to their alpha, Chris had agreed to let Walsh become a soldier. It took a few days but Walsh proved to be an ace. He turned out to be one of the best warriors they had. That surprised Walsh but not as much as the fact that this very sexy man wanted him as a mate.
Stephani always gives me a great story to lose myself into. I was not disappointed in this book. It is the perfect length also. I loved the fact that two sexy men fall in love, and despite their troubles, they seem to overcome all odds. It has the right amount of love, danger, and excitement. It catches your attention from the start and will keep it all the way to the end. I love the paranormal world but when you add in romance, I am a sure sell. I loved this book and cannot wait to read the next book in this amazing series.
