Blurb: Ajax Fairchildā€™s online alter ego has caused him trouble before, but never like this. After multiple death threats, his loaded parents decide he needs an enforced digital vacation and the best bodyguard money can buy.

That would be Dmytro Kolisnychenko, former soldier, former hired muscle for the Ukrainian mobā€”until he lost his happy home life to an enemy with a homemade bomb. Now he wants only two things: to spend every precious second he can with his daughters, and to provide for them by protecting people who canā€™t protect themselvesā€”even entitled little asshats like Ajax Fairchild.

But Ajax doesnā€™t fit into the spoiled little rich kid box as neatly as Dmytro would like. Dmytro doesnā€™t have time for a romantic dalliance, and Ajax is a client, albeit one with unexpected depths. With one coincidence after another driving them to the sleepy seaside town of St. Nachoā€™s and away from their planned safe house, they grow to trust each other and find that love follows trust. Now they must learn where the threat to Ajax is coming from and neutralize itā€¦ before itā€™s too late for their happily ever after.

Review: Three Night Vlog, by ZA Maxfield, is the third book in the series Plummet to Soar. I didnā€™t really know what to expect. Iā€™ve read books by Maxfield in the past but nothing really came to mind when I was reading the blurb other than ā€œthis looks like a fun book with a dash of dangerā€.

Three Night Vlog works fine as a standalone book. I knew it was part of a series when I picked it up but it wasnā€™t until about five minutes ago that I realised that itā€™s the third book in the series. Regardless, I am now curious about the preceding two books.

In the present story we are introduced to Ajax Fairchild. Heā€™s a rich kid ā€“ young adult ā€“ in need of a bodyguard. But he isnā€™t your run of the mill rich kid with too much time and money on his hands, instead Ajax is something of a social warrior. After deciding that he didnā€™t need to put up an act on his blog as his internet vlogger alter ego, he announces that he is gay ā€“ in a stunning, drunken YouTube video ā€“ Ajaxā€™s parent hire a bodyguard and force him to stay away from the internet. He finds himself in the beautiful seaside town of St Nachoā€™s after more death threats force the plan off script.

Dmytro Kolisnychenko is a former soldier, single father and the bodyguard hired to protect Ajax Fairchild. Dmytro accepts that he has a fluid sexuality, yet he cannot act on any attraction to Ajax, simply because the man is his client, and he has shied away from any sort of romance since a bomb killed his wife and destroyed his happy home. He spends as much time with his two cute daughters, but it is the events of the past that make him want to protect people that cannot protect themselves, which is a way for Dmytro to find peace and salvation. But as the threats escalate and the attraction grows, both Dmytro and Ajax need to keep their eyes on the current situation as well as work through their feelings and the emotional baggage of the past.

As I said earlier, this is a fun book with a dash of danger. Dmytro and Ajax have a sizzling attraction, although they both go on quite a journey before they can be anything real to each other. For those that like their romance with a bit of action, sexy eastern European bodyguards and a quirky leading man, this is a great book to get into.

Healey Holly is battered, depressed, and looking to go to ground in his childhood home. He wants to rent the garage apartment, but itā€™s Diego Luzā€™s place now, and the last thing Diego wants is to share it.

Diego is recovering tooā€”from the accident that put him in a wheelchair and the death of his mother shortly after. The garage apartment is where heā€™s keeping his motherā€™s things, and as long as theyā€™re up those stairs and heā€™s down on the ground, thereā€™s no way he can deal with his loss.Ā  And thatā€™s just how he likes it.

Healey believes in science. Diego believes in luck. It will take a blend of both, and some prayer thrown in besides, for these two to learn that itā€™s the journey and the destination that matters.

Blurb: Heā€™ll give up everything for his immortal loverā€¦except his humanity.

Leave a note and slip away to Paris alone, Adin thought. Itā€™ll prove to his vampire lover he doesnā€™t need 24/7 supervision, Adin thought. Instead, Adin lands in a surreal situation that isnā€™t going to endear him to Donte. At. All.

As he awaits an old foe, Ned Harwiche III, for a prearranged meeting, Adin is head butted, tossed into the back of a carā€¦then gets the chance to acquire an artifact Harwiche had been bidding on.

Adin jumps at it, if only as payback for all the dirty tricks Harwiche has pulled over the years. To his horror, the ā€œartifactā€ turns out to be an adolescent boy named Bran.

Sickened, Adin vows to help the boy out, but like Donteā€”like a lot of the world Adin never knew existedā€”Bran isnā€™t at all what he seems to be.

While Donte and Adin negotiate the meaning of the word ā€œforeverā€, Bran is running out of time. Especially when tragedy and betrayal pit Adinā€™s long-cherished beliefs against Donteā€™s love.

This book has been previously published.

Review: A good addition to this series. Loved the new character Bran and the mystery that surrounded him throughout. Aiden’s character was funny and sarcastic at times but I felt he took too much unnecessary crap from Donte.

Donte seemed a little cruel with his words at times and sometimes I grew aggravated with him during the story. There is more history about Edward and Aiden which added to the story as it progressed. A lot of things going on as the mystery continued about Bran and his abilities.

This sequel is full of surprising reveals that keep the reader intrigued to find out what happened. The ending was a surprise I never saw coming.

Good and entertaining read.

Anthology - Lights, Camera, Cupid 400x600

Ā Lights, Camera, Cupid!

Ā (A Bluewater Bay Valentine’s Day Anthology)
by

L.A. Witt, Z.A. Maxfield, Anne Tenino, S.E. Jakes, Amy Lane

Cupid is visiting Bluewater Bay, and heā€™s leaving chaos in his wake.

Nothingā€™s been the same in this sleepy little logging town since Hollywood came to shoot the hit TV showĀ Wolfā€™s Landingā€”especially Valentineā€™s Day.

In L.A. Wittā€™sĀ Just Another Day, beloved actors Levi Pritchard and Carter Samuels have an announcement for their fans, while in Z.A. Maxfieldā€™sĀ Iā€™ll Be There, actor Spencer Kepler and his boyfriend Nash Holly brave a blizzard and a fan convention to spend their first February the 14th together.

Of course, itā€™s not just TV stars celebrating the day. In Anne Teninoā€™sĀ Helping Hand, an aspiring artist eager to escape Bluewater Bay decides he just might have a reason to stay: lust-inspiring logger Gabriel Savage. In S.E. Jakesā€™sĀ No Easy Way, a local teacher reconnects with an old lover working security on the film set. And in Amy Laneā€™sĀ Nascha, a Bluewater Bay elder recalls how his own unconventional family used to celebrate the holiday.

Real life may be nothing like TV, but when Cupid comes to town, thereā€™s plenty of romance and drama to go around.

Blurb: Thereā€™s no leverage like seductionā€¦until love takes a bite of his plans.

As the Indiana Jones of historical erotica, there is no document existingā€”or just rumored to existā€”Adin Tredeger canā€™t unearth. Why he would risk the biggest coup of his career to join the mile-high club is beyond him. But the disarming, dark-eyed man who somehow enters Adinā€™s locked airplane washroom has him completely nude and coming apart. All without a whimper of protest.

From that moment, Adin and Donte Fedelta engage in an international battle of wit and cunning. The prizeā€”a priceless, 500-year-old journal with illustrations so erotic it could make the Marquis de Sade blush.

Yet Donteā€™s desire for the journal goes far beyond simple possession. The undead nobleman wrote it. And heā€™s not above using every trick in his otherworldly arsenalā€”including seductionā€”to get it back.

Chemistry draws them together even as fortune tugs them apart. But when a third-party joins the chase, they must unite to fight an enemy with a deadly goalā€”to erase Donte from history.

This book is a rerelease of a previously published book, with substantial rewrites.

Review: Intense at times this book takes you on a journey following Adin as he reads parts of a 500-year-old manuscript, meets a sexy vampire, and has said manuscript stolen from him by an unknown party only to be continuously threatened by others who believe he still has it. I loved the parts of the manuscript he read they seemed to show just how much Donte loved his lover even though he couldn’t be with him.

The chemistry between Donte and Adin was smoldering and the passion even hotter. While it was a very well written book, I found it hard to believe that after meeting Donte and learning he was a vampire that Adin was shocked when he came face to face with another vampire. Did he honestly believe that Donte, 500 years old and the writer and illustrator of the manuscript, was the only vampire?

I thought it was sweet how Donte wanted to protect Adin from harm even though at the beginning he told Adin he had no humanity after being turned. Good read.

Blurb: Dare Buckley has come homeā€”or at least, heā€™s come back to Palladian, the small town he left as a teenager. After a major lapse in judgment forced him to resign from the Seattle PD, Palladian is the only place thatā€™ll hire him. Thereā€™s one benefit to hitting rock bottom, though: the chance to investigate the mystery of his fatherā€™s suicide.

Dare also gets to reacquaint himself with Finn Fowler, whose childhood hero worship ended in uncomfortable silence when Dare moved away. But Finn isnā€™t the same little kid Dare once protected. Heā€™s grown into an attractive, enigmatic stranger who neither wants nor needs what Dare has to offer.

In fact, Dare soon realizes that Finnā€™s keeping secretsā€”his own and the townā€™s. And he doesnā€™t seem to care that Dare needs answers. The atmosphere in Palladian, like its namesake river, appears placid, but dark currents churn underneath. When danger closes in, Dare must pit his ingenuity against his heart, and find his way home the hard way.

Review: I swear this book should begin with the phrase, ā€œA dark and stormy nightā€¦ā€ The whole image, feel, and plot of this story had a dark, malevolent feel to it. Much like the wastewater in the river, the townspeople were toxic. The question is why, and what will wash away the evil that is lurking in the shadows on those dark and stormy nights?
From the beginning, the author makes us feel some kind of dark threat in Finn, from his lurking behavior in the parking lot, to his quite connectedness to Bill the bully.

We know that Finn is hiding something, from the reason behind his limp, to what his side work may be. But what is the big secret? I admit to thinking even darker nefarious thoughts about Finnā€™s connection to Dareā€™s fatherā€™s death, glad that wasnā€™t the case, but the end was still surprising.

The writing was smooth, though my favorite aspect was that the environment in the story reflected the emotional and behavioral state of the main characters. I like those layers in a good mystery, and Maxfield slips them in as more people get involved in the plot and Dareā€™s attachment to Finn grows stronger even though it could ruin him the same way his career was destroyed in Seattle.

All in all a dark tale, a mystery that kept me on the hook until the end, and a sizzling sexual heat between Dare and Finn that kept me on my toes the whole time. A great read, Iā€™d definitely recommend!

Eddie has not failed to notice that his friend has a serious drinking problem, and heā€™s determined to help Jimmy kick the booze cold turkey.Ā

Taking him up to a snowbound cabin to detox, Eddie is confronted with Jimmyā€™s fierce denial. But the pains of withdrawal are nothing for Jimmy compared with the heartache of denying his true feelings and his deep longingā€¦for the one man who cares for him more than anyone else on earth

Review: Iā€™m going to admit I read the first chapter after finishing the first book My Cowboy Heart.Ā  I was hooked from the get go. I was also in shock when I saw who the book was about. Very pleasantly shocked since I hadĀ  thought I caughtĀ  hintsĀ  from Eddie and I will sayĀ  when Eddie took Jimmy to detox him, I thought to myselfĀ  how much Iā€™d like to see what went on there. As if the author read my mind, here it was. Jimmy and Eddieā€™s story.Ā  I was ecstatic. You do not have to read the first book to enjoy this one. I do suggest you do since it was awesome too and once you read the excerpt in the back Iā€™m sure you will rush to get it.

A quick rundown: Jimmy has been having some issues and Eddie has taken it upon himself to dry Jimmy out.Ā  Jimmy had always been a heavy drinker, but lately as things changed around the Jbar he had gotten worse and the timing was terrible.Ā

The story started out with a bang. Literally. The first line had me.Ā  And dam was it hotā€¦ and made me have a few questions about Jimmy. I love the first person view and that itā€™s from Jimmy as he goes through his forced detox.Ā  The story is very well written with lots of heart, emotion and a touch of humour. When Eddieā€™s friend is introduced, I have to say my heart plummeted. I was like oh no, not another one of those mĆ©nages.Ā  Well it wasnā€™t.Ā  This was like no rollercoaster ride.Ā  Not a lot of ups and downs, just curve after curve. I promise you itā€™s not predictable.Ā  At least for me it wasnā€™t. Sure, there were a few things I saw coming but I wanted them to come and at times, it was snapped out of my grasp.Ā  Did I get the ending I wanted?Ā  Iā€™m not gonna tell you. You will have to get the book and see for yourself!

I highly recommend this book if you like cowboys, older characters, men with problems, alcoholics, threesomes, hot mansex and a very good heartfelt story with lots of action, emotion and humour. Did I mention the hot mansex and cowboys?

Blurb:A cowboy’s heart has room for anythingā€¦

J-Bar ranch foreman Malloy pretty much keeps to himselfā€”slinking around the edges of everybody else like an old coyote, doing his job and staying private. That is until Crispin Carrasco shows up.Ā

Lean, muscular, and with a motor mouth that wonā€™t quit, Crispin sparks something in Malloyā€”something the foreman didnā€™t know was there. But how does a lone coyote approach the warmth of a fire? And more important, what would happen if that fire burned?

Purchase Link: http://www.amazon.com/My-Cowboy-Heart-Intermix-ebook/dp/B00AMOODZM/ref=pd_ybh_1

Review: Malloy has been Foreman of the J-bar for a long time, but more than that, he was raised since he was fourteen by Crandall Jenkins and his wife Emma.Ā  J bar was more than a job it was home.Ā Ā  Mr Jenkins has a way of helping out people and he left Malloy in charge of the ranch as usual when he and Emma go off to Florida, to spend the winter and holidays with the girls. This year however he had another request. To watch out for Emmaā€™s friends nephew Crispin Malloy, whom Crandall had given a job for the winter.

Crispin was unlike any other man Malloy had ever met. Not only was Crispin out and proud, but also compassionate and having a way with animals as well as people.Ā  Malloy had no idea just how much Crispin would change his life and turn things at the ranch upside down doing so.

His book was amazing! Awesome isnā€™t even close to describing how good.Ā  I love a good character driven story but this had both characters and an intriguing storyline.Ā  All the characters even the sub characters had so much personality. I wonā€™t call the men broken since though each one has had a bad past that left them broken. The Jenkins had taken them in, giving them jobs, home and love, mending them a little.Ā  Letā€™s start with Malloy.Ā  He is the typical, quiet cowboy, with his cowboy charm and drawl a loner and man of few words.Ā  He likes his privacy and to stay on the outside looking in.Ā  Crispin… he is a character all right; talkative, creative, caring, compassionate and empathetic. There is nothing he wouldnā€™t do for man or beast. And he is gay and proud of it.

This story is written with such wit and charm that you canā€™t put it down. There were places I laughed until I thought Iā€™d die and a place or two I nearly cried.Ā  The names alone are enough to put a smile on your face.

If you like, cowboys, ranch hands, three-legged dogs, lots of laughs and some tears, family drama and some smoking hot mansex this is for you

Blurb: The Brothers Grime is Jack Masterson’s way of helping people in crisis after disability ends his career as a firefighter. Jack’s people get to a scene long after the physical trauma ends. They work together to clean the scene and despite the situation, heat flares between them.

Jack is keeping a painful secret and fighting his attraction to Nick’s lookalike cousin, Ryan. Ryan calls himself a magnet for lost causes and worries Jack might be the next in a long line of losers. Despite his misgivings, despite the past and the mistakes they’ve both made, Jack gives Ryan something to look forward to, and Ryan gives Jack a reason to stop looking back, inĀ Grime And Punishment.

Review: When Jackā€™s career as a firefighter comes to a crashing halt, he makes a new career as a crime scene clean-up technician, he might not be in the thick of the action helping people anymore, but he can still help the victims after the event. When he hears that his ex-lover Nick committed suicide he offers his services to Nickā€™s cousin Ryan, but it is a way for Jack to put his ghosts behind him. Ryan was trying to give his down on his luck cousin a hand and took him in, now he is facing the devastating clean up of his suicide, being a nurse doesnā€™t prepare him for clean up after a loved one and Ryan is grateful for Jackā€™s help. Ryan thought he knew what had happened between Nick and Jack all those years before, and has no qualms of embarking on a hopeful relationship. Jackā€™s secret comes out and Ryan doesnā€™t know how to handle it, Jack doesnā€™t want to look to the past anymore and Ryan doesnā€™t want to harbor any more lost causes. Can the two men help each other look forward or will they always look to the past.Ā

This is a great book that takes you to the grim side of life, to the people left behind by tragedy and the mess that is left to clear up. When Ryan and Jack meet the ice quickly thaws between them, Ryan remembers what his cousin, Nick, did to Jack although he doesnā€™t know the whole story. Jack and Ryan act on their attraction but then Jack is left wondering if he should confess what his real relationship with Nick was, his friends warn him again and again to come clean or to leave Ryan alone. Both Ryan and Jack have to face how Nick has affected them and Ryan has to work out how he feels about the truth.

I enjoyed this story with its crime scene clean-up theme, I liked it for showing such a strong character as Jack, and I liked it for the conflicted emotions it shows. Ryan is just a typical character who is working through a loss; his getting together with Jack doesnā€™t faze him until he learns the truth from a third-party. Jack doesnā€™t want to tell another personā€™s secret, but it is more his secret as well, does he really want to admit that he was hoodwinked and used for years before being betrayed to Ryan or anyone else? No, he would rather protect his heart by placing it in a steel box, encasing it in concrete, and then wrapping it in razor wire.

The storyline is good and the characters are interesting, the romance is rocky because Jack doesnā€™t come clean but the sex fantastic. I was a bit unsure at first about this story because Jack had an arrangement with his friend, the closeted detective Dave, that was friends with benefits and at times Dave seems to care more than you would expect, but we discover that what Nick did all those years ago scarred more than just Jack. I also found that while Jack thought he was being loyal to his first love he was, in reality, still hiding the truth from himself, facing the truth is hard but letting Nick get away with what he did and not enacting on a little revenge by yelling the truth from the rooftops is just hard to fathom.

So I will recommend this to those that love budding romances, secrets emerging, great supportive family and friends, hot sex and a happy ending.

Ā Blurb: Fitz Gaffney finally has some breathing room. His motherā€™s out of town, his piano teachers have backed off, and he gets to spend time at a school where he only has to be adequate for an entire year before all his responsibilities comes crashing back in again. With this freedom comes the realization that heā€™s lonely, but his first attempt at dating goes horribly awry.

Fitzā€™s new — but possibly imaginary — friends, Julian and Serge, want to help him find happiness. His used-to-be-stepbrother Ari Scheffield wants to help him gain confidence and a little much-needed cool. His housekeeper Marguerite wants to keep fowl in the back yard for butchering because duck confit is expensive and she has pillows to re-stuff. And his possible new boyfriend Garrett wants to prove he didnā€™t mean for their first date to end with Fitz lying unconscious in a dumpster.

All Fitz wants is someone who cares about him, and suddenly there seems to be a glut. Howā€™s a shy guy to know whatā€™s real when heā€™s confronted by crazy ghosts, a less than truthful boyfriend, and relatives with hidden motives? It’s a Rhapsody For Piano And Ghost.

Review: I absolutely adored this story which really surprised me because I have put off reading this book mainly because of the title. Ā  Yeah, I know childish, but itā€™s been in my ā€˜to be readā€™ file for months. Ā  So today I gritted my teeth and opened it up and wished Iā€™d opened it ages ago.

Fitz Gaffney may be a musical genius but when it comes to interacting with others heā€™s a dud.Ā  Ari Scheffield was Fitzā€™s step-brother (for 3 months) and has sworn to keep an eye on him for Fitzā€™s mother.Ā  Garrett Fender is a student at Fitzā€™s school and is interested in being more.

Fitz is a man who is sweet, innocent and gullible who has been cocooned by his mother from the outside world. Ā  He snatches at the first friendship that comes along and it embarks him on a journey of discovery and true love. Ari feels more for Fitz than brotherly love but he knows that his chances are slim especially when Fitz gets a boyfriend.Ā  The relationship between Fitz and Ari is deeper than we first think and I liked being able to understand their relationship and see its progression.Ā  Even when they were at each otherā€™sĀ throats. Fitz learns that you can’t trust everyone and that it’s okay to rely on others for support sometimes.

Okay this book is brilliant and funny and I loved most of the characters to death. The story is written beautifully and is extremely smooth; the characters are wonderful whose interaction is great. I loved Julian and Serge, they made me laugh and they made me want to cry. The story is rock solid and the danger was a surprise and very well done.

So I recommend this book to anyone who hasnā€™t already got it because itā€™s incredible good.
