Blurb:   When love is on the line, crossing it is the only path to take.

Eaton Franks has had his eye on Marty, the leader of the hawks, for a long time. After he rescues the bad boy, things take a tragic turn and it looks as if the gang leader might never fly again. When Eaton has the chance to use a sorcerer to fix the love of his life, little does he know it will lead to his own abduction.

Marty is beside himself when his eagle shifter is stolen. He knows they are mates and he’s willing to do anything to get him back. However, now he has to decide if he is willing to give up his hawk half in order to save his eagle. Sometimes love makes a man do crazy things.

Review: Eaton has had a crush on Marty for a long time. when the leader of the hawks is badly injured, Eaton will do anything to have him healed, even make a deal with a sorcerer. Marty is horrified when Eaton is taken because of him. The eagle shifter is his mate and he will do anything to get him back. Marty and Eaton’s friends are willing to go to war to get Eaton back, but with a sorcerer casting his spell will Eaton want to come back?

I love a good light-hearted story of friends pulling together to rescue one of their own and that’s what Amber Kell has created with her wonderful Banded Brothers series. a group of friends as close as brothers sticking together through thick and thin and finding love along the way. This is Eaton’s story, the quite, studious eagle shifter who has the hots for bad boy biker, Marty. With Marty so injured that he might lose his hawk, Eaton puts his trust in the sorcerer, Gallen, and discovers Gallen has his own plans. Marty has come to the point in his life when he wants to settle down and finally claim Eaton. Being injured and learning he might lose his hawk is a hard blow, but Eaton persuades him to trust Gallen. When Marty discovers the trust is misplaced, it is too late and there is nothing he can do, turning to Eaton’s friends they mount a rescue, but are it too late?

This is a really great little story that gives us that spark of excitement that we have come to expect from Banded Brothers. The fierce loyalty, the guns, the explosions and the idiots who think they can take on the friends. The writing is great, showing us not just the strong bonds that hold these friends together but the devotion that each friend finds in their mates. Does that confuse you? Me complementing the entire group? Well, Amber Kell doesn’t forget the exceptional bonds just because a character already has their story, and they are still there even if it is more in the background.

Eaton and Marty are sweet together and both will do anything for the other, they are very easy-going with their relationship with no recriminations from Eaton when he discovers Marty knew they were mates. Marty’s helplessness with the situation screams at you, but Eaton’s cunning is impressive. Although you sneer at Gallen’s behavior, by the end of the story you find a little pity for him. The new people you meet makes you wonder what will be coming after Harris’s story, and I really can’t help hoping for a story for Aden, he is soooo perfect for a clash with an Alpha male.

I will recommend this to those that love shifters, paranormals, magic, hot sex, great characters, a great storyline that leaves threads for the next book and a very happy ending.

Blurb: Doug Heavy Runner left the life of an openly gay Miami police officer and returned to his home on the Salish-Kootenai Indian Reservation when his mother got sick. In the two years since she passed, he’s carved out an empty life as a small-town deputy, relying on out-of-town one-night stands to keep him sane. Then he meets Detective Christopher Hayes, and they share a wild night so incredible Doug breaks his own rule and allows a one-night stand to grow into a weekend of amazing sex.

When Christopher travels from San Diego to Montana to deal with his abusive brother’s suicide, he doesn’t expect to find the man he spent the weekend with to be handling his brother’s case. He certainly doesn’t mind spending more time with Doug—but then an arsonist destroys the house Christopher inherited from his brother, and Christopher and Doug discover they are the primary suspects.

As they investigate, they discover Christopher’s dead brother has set them on the trail of a psychotic pedophile who will stop at nothing to silence his last victim. However, the search for the victim goes horribly wrong, leaving Doug hospitalized and Christopher at the mercy of the killer….

Review: Doug left Miami and returned to the town of Elkin and the Salish-Kootenai Indian Reservation when his mother fell ill. Now, he is a deeply closeted gay deputy at the sheriff’s department snatching stolen nights with men out-of-town. One such night leads to an amazing weekend with Christopher Hayes and the hope of future stolen weekends with the detective. Christopher was shot in the line of duty, recovery isn’t looking promising, but all that gets pushed to the side when he has to travel to Montana to deal with his older brother’s (Peter) suicide. It also gives him the opportunity to spend more time with Doug, when he discovers Doug is the one handling the case. But things start to go wrong when his brother’s house burns down and the FBI gets involved. Christopher realizes Peter has given him clues to follow and it is a dangerous path for both Christopher and Doug when a dangerous psychotic pedophile turns his sights on them.

Wow! Just wow. This story is absolutely fantastic. A brilliant mystery, and with a suspense that keeps you guessing. Doug is a brilliant character. He isn’t perfect. He has his hang ups with his background, he’s closeted and a vegan. When he meets Christopher the attraction is sudden and the sex mind-blowing and it’s something he wants more of. Christopher’s character has its own hang-ups that have haunted him from the past; he is strong-willed and is out of the closet. Meeting Doug and having a fling with him helps him put his feelings for his work partner, Ray, into perspective, but Christopher is still conflicted over what to do next.

I am very surprised that this is a debut novel. The writing is brilliant, and the storyline absolutely ace and it switches nicely between the relationship between Christopher and Doug and the suspense of just what is going on in Elkin. The mystery that Peter leaves for his brother Christopher to solve is disturbing. Especially as Christopher and Doug dig and make new discoveries which will shock the town. Doug and Christopher’s romance is tricky as they hide it from the town, but they also have the knowledge that Christopher will be returning to California. We are also treated to Ray, Christopher’s work partner and best friend, and the conflicting feelings the pair of them have. Ray is a great character and I truly hope we get a story for him and also maybe for FBI agent Elliot Belkamp.

So what more to say? Well, the sex is really hot and Doug has to work through some of his fears. Hmmm, the characters are great and really work well together. Doug and Ray are just excellent as rivals. What else? Oh, the storyline leads you through horrific discoveries well, but it is all surface details so there are no really horrific scenes played out on page.

So, I have no choice but to recommend that everyone gives this book a read. but especially those who love mystery, suspense, danger, digging into dangerous secrets, great relationships, hot sex and an ending that gives us great promise for Doug’s and Christopher’s relationship.

Review: Seven lives by his wits on the streets of London’s Blackside, dodging the men that hunt him since his escape from the factory that cost him his family. Seven keeps in the shadows taking odd jobs where he can and an odd figure of Mr. Kettlebent catches his eye. When Seven is approached to do a job for criminal mastermind Jack Midnight, Seven is pulled into a world of intrigue, danger and a mysterious old civilization. To save the children of London they have to save the Queen from a manipulating wizard, but keeping an old foe at bay is becoming difficult and joining an underground revolution is just the beginning.

Steampunk fascinates me to no end and Beau Schemery has created a wonderful Steampunk world. Seven is a great character. He is only about fifteen, but he survives on his own wits and refuses to give up. He has survived hell and although he feels guilt he is strong in mind and spirit. The other characters in this book are incredibly written and as we get to meet them they each become special to you. I must admit that out of all of them Jack Midnight is my favorite. He is a complete psychopath, but he is such an endearing psychopath that you can’t help like him. Tesla is a genius ten-year old, Annie is a young prostitute, Rat is a young messenger, Waverly works in a pub, Silas is a young revolutionary and all these are characters who make this story great.

The setting for this story is wonderful, London is split in two. Fairside where the well-to-do and the aristocracy lives, Darkside is like the slums and the air is foul, steam power is all the rage and Queen Victoria is being controlled by the wizard Fairgate. There’s a secret revolution being built beneath the streets of London in a long forgotten underground city and these are the things that Seven discovers when he is hired to steal the wizard’s journal. There is a slow love story in this book and it is between Seven and Silas. They somehow manage to fall in love while chaos ensues around them. This story is jam-packed with action, adventure, danger and hope glimmering through all the loss and devastation.

There are some scenes where there is torture and it is nasty. The person responsible, Fervis, has hunted for Seven for years, but you know the saying ‘what goes around comes around’? Well, Fervis gets his *evil cackle*. The ages of the characters vary, you have many young characters but there are also a select few adults who are trusted. I know some people may have concerns about young characters being portrayed as prostitutes and having relationships at such a young age, but the setting is 1865 when the age of consent was twelve. There is never any on page sexual content except one or two kisses shared by Seven and Silas.

I will recommend this to those who love Steampunk, Young Adult, rewritten history, spunky characters, a sweet love, an inventive storyline and a fantastic ending.

Blurb: Devonn has lived his entire life in Darkness and chained to the will of another for centuries. When the chance to become free arrives in the form of an ancient soul, Devonn grabs it and runs. But taking the soul and keeping it are two different things. Hunted by demons and a stubborn soul that tests his sanity, Devonn seeks sanctuary with a group of survivors, but he doesn’t expect to find himself drawn to the surly ironsmith thwarting his charms.

Since the world fell into Darkness and unleashed the monsters that prowl the Earth, Mitch Banos has seen more than his fair share of death. With people dying and dangers closing in around the group from all sides, Mitch is sure that attachment to people is a bad idea. Devonn’s persistence pays off, but with the fae woods closing in around the group’s tiny sanctuary and traitors in their midst, Mitch finds himself betrayed and trapped among the fae.

Devonn rushes to find Mitch, which leaves the survivors vulnerable to the traitor within. With the soul tugging at Devonn’s sanity, finding Mitch may become far more difficult than Devonn had expected. With so many things pulling at him, it’ll be a miracle if they all survive…

Advisory: This book contains graphic violence, hardcore bondage and punishment, torture and blood play. May not be suitable for the more sensitive reader.

Purchase Link: http://www.amberquill.com/AmberAllure/InHeartDarkness.html

Review: Since the Darkness came, the world has fallen to paranormals. Monsters prey on humans and no one is safe. Devonn is scavenging for food in an abandoned store when Mitch and his group of survivors burst in and disturb a banshee. After fighting for their lives, Devonn joins their group. Mitch isn’t sure what to make of the new arrival when the man keeps flirting with him. Holding Devonn at arm’s-length seems to be the best idea, but Devonn slowly works his charm. The situation for the group begins to become dire as the fae woods are creeping closer to their church every day and a traitor is causing dissent in the group. Mitch is betrayed and finds himself trapped by the fae. Devonn rushes to rescue Mitch, but to save Mitch’s life he has to reveal his own dark secret and it nearly drives them apart. The traitor finally turns on the survivors at the church and it just might kill Mitch and Devonn to rescue the few who escape the traitors clutches.

First things first, the warning is not nearly strong enough. This is a paranormal horror story first and foremost and everything else falls in around that. The violence is bloody and horrific and snaps out of nowhere. The torture is disgusting and if I ever see a rat again I will run screaming in the other direction. C.M. Torrens has a disturbing imagination which gives James Herbert and Stephen King a run for their money. There are many, many things that happen in this book that are horrific and gut churning, so a cast iron stomach is a must.

The storyline is brilliant. The Darkness came out of nowhere and now the paranormals and monsters run amok. Human survivors band together as much as possible, but the outlook is bleak; especially when some of the monsters can look human. Devonn managed to escape his captivity by taking a soul into him, if he loses that soul he will be back in chains. Taking a chance with Mitch gives him brief happiness, but Devonn knows his time is running short. Mitch has kept people from getting too close for two reasons; because of his scars and because there is little chance of happiness in this new world. Together they make an interesting relationship and are good together, but in a paranormal horror story anything can happen.

I have to recommend this to those who love paranormal horror, dark fantasy, nasty BDSM and torture, a brief glimpse of happiness and developing love, great characters and an ending that leaves you chomping at the bit for more.

Will doesn’t intend to let Takoda go quite so easily and makes that perfectly clear when he invites Takoda to his home for dinner, with his father. With Takoda’s help Will tries to discover the root cause of his father’s hatred of the Sioux. When Will learns the truth not only about his father’s deep seeded anger, but secrets of his own past, will it be more than he can handle?

I love this series. The research Grey has put into all the characters from all three books is spectacular and it is conveyed well in the writing. Will, Takoda and Kevin are all multi-faceted characters with realistic issues and complicated lives. The concept behind the ranch and the land and why it’s sacred to the Sioux was intriguing. Mix that with the various storylines individually as well as intertwined and you have a fantastic read.

I would highly recommend this book, this series, any Andrew Grey book! His ability to capture human emotion and put it to pen and paper is uncanny and downright sexy as hell!

Review:  Short, Sexy and Steamy… my three favorite colors! When Detective Trevor Stanton takes a fly ball to the head at his sister’s softball game, he wakes up in the ER in the capable hands of an extremely attractive male nurse, Skylar. Both men are recently single, Trevor’s ex cheated on him, leaving him slightly jaded. Skylar’s ex is a doctor at the hospital who conveniently forgot to mention he was married, to a woman.

Sparks fly immediately and Skylar makes his move, only to be turned down flat. But as luck would have it, detective Stanton has a knack for head injuries, and he ends up back in the ER under Skylar’s care, once again. This time they seem to have gotten their chance and plans are made for a date. Chemistry cannot be denied though, and they end up in bed before they even make it out the door!

When Skylar is called home indefinitely for a family emergency it would seem that three strikes and your out is the outcome for this relationship. Will they let love slip away? Or try to find a balance in order to be together.

At only thirty pages, this is a pretty intense novella. I could definitely see a full length novel with these characters. If you are in the mood for something short with a good storyline and some oh so hot, steamy sex between two oh so hot mens, I suggest you grab yourself a copy of this one!

Review: This story is part of a series and is best read in order. Jonathon is just trying to get to the office when he rescues Kai from a ‘hit and run’. The man is hot and Jonathan wants to get to know him better. When more attempts on Kai’s life happen, Jonathan decides that there is only one person who can protect him and that’s himself. Kai is instantly attracted to the man who saved him from a car and has plans to get to know him better. But, someone is out to kill him and he has no idea who, having Jonathan guard his body is a major perk. But, discovering who wants him dead is harder than they thought.

This is a great addition to the Mercenary Lovers series. Jonathan finds a man to love and the mystery of who the would-be killer is was great. Jonathon is feeling lonely, spending time with his bosses and their partners has him feeling jealous and he wants to find a man to love. But, Jonathon feels like he has baggage. He still has nightmares of when he was in the military, but when he meets Kai he has hopes that he might have found the man for him. Kai has concentrated on building up his company and hasn’t had much time to build a relationship; he is blown away when he meets Jonathon and hopes to get to know him better. When there is a blatant attempt on Kai’s life he is left completely confused as to who wants him dead and Jonathon jumps to protect him. Together they find love and are both shocked and surprised by the would-be killer.

So another mercenary bites the love bug and does it in spectacular fashion. Jonathon is a great character and even now still feels a little guilt over how he first treated Callum (Tempting Sin), Jonathon is still struggling with life out of the military and I think Amber Kell put it across well. and I loved that there was that slight heart to heart between Jonathon and Sin. Kai is a businessman and really does seem the perfect match for Jonathon. Even with all his money, he is down to earth, although he does try to impress Jonathon at first. The mystery of who wants Kai dead is intriguing because everything points to Kai’s sister but it just doesn’t feel right, and when we do discover who it is, holy moly, we are smacked with a twist.

I recommend this to those who love private security bodyguards, hot-shot businessmen, steamy sex, a mysterious killer, a great twist and a very happy loving ending.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Kieran, Jubilee, Sean and Nicholas team up again tackling case with the US Marshals. A serial killer is traveling to Mexico to kill prostitutes, but the case is far from simple. Protecting a witness proves harder than it should and transporting a criminal is filled with danger as he becomes a target for murder. On the home front tensions are high when Juan’s adoption comes to a screeching halt and someone sets out to take Juan away from Kieran and Jubilee.

This is a great story as tensions run high and friendships are tested and relationships are strained. Kieran and Jubilee are put through the wringer as their hope of adopting Juan is crushed. They have to deal with the pressure of work and choices have to be made as their relationship is tested by stress. Sean and Nicholas are progressing nicely with their relationship although there are a couple of tense moments. Sean is still dealing with the emotional distress of being kidnapped and poisoned (Autumn Breeze) and Nicholas faces mutilation when he is caught in a trap.

This story has personal conflicts and trust is bruised. There are exciting cases and the revelation of yet another mole in the Marshal Service. These guys just can’t win can they? I really enjoyed this story because it actually caused me to feel conflicted about my favorite US Marshals. On one hand, I felt sympathy, but, I also felt that they over-reacted and I felt so sorry for the one who was caught in the middle when he was torn between his family and his friends. Oh, was that vague? *snigger*.

Nicholas and Sean are the main focus again with Kieran and Jubilee more in the background. We have so much scorching sex from Sean and Nicholas that I was beginning to think I was reading porn *wipes brow*. The Marshal Service comes into its own as we spend more time with the guys at the office, but don’t think there are less cases or action because we still get plenty of both with daring escapes and near misses that we have come to know these guys for. There is a quandary coming up though and I am sad to think we might lose some of the hot Marshals. Let us hope Texas pulls its head out of its arse and quickly approves gay adoption.

I have to recommend this to those who love great series, hot sexy men, danger, doubts and betrayal, hot sex, deep love and an ending that has you gritting your teeth.

Blurb: Ryan only dated girls before he met Jansen. He would like to say he’s simply confused except that’s just not the case. But how does he “get the guy” when his former girlfriend is out for the same prize?

Ryan’s former girlfriend, Cheyenne, is used to getting what she wants. Right now, she wants Jansen Branwyth. The only problem is so does Ryan. For the first time in his life, he’s strongly attracted to a man. Okay, maybe it’s not the first time but that first time didn’t count because it was two months ago and it was the same man. Except with the very beautiful Cheyenne going after Jansen and thinking she’ll have no problem getting him, Ryan is sure he has absolutely no chance. Jansen, however, doesn’t care one bit what either one of them think. He knows exactly who he wants and knows precisely how he will go about getting his man.

Review: Ryan briefly met a man who rescued him in his time of need. Since then, he has been plagued by the attraction he felt to the mystery man, as Ryan has never been attracted to a man before. Bumping into the man again, while he is on a ‘date’ with his ex-girlfriend, Cheyenne, on the Superior Jewel sends him further into confusion as his attraction is as strong as ever. But, why would the sexy man be interested in him when Cheyenne is pulling out all the stops to grab the man’s attention. Jansen hasn’t been able to get the sexy man he rescued off his mind. spotting him again on a lake cruise gives him the opportunity to get what he wants, but first he has to deal with the seductive Cheyenne first.

This is a brilliant ‘gay for you’ story where the sexy playboy discovers he has a heart that wants just one man. Ryan is such a sweet character, he is thoughtful, polite and unassuming, and discovering that he is attracted to a man confused him, especially such a successful man like Jansen who he has no hope of getting. Jansen is a confident playboy, just one chance meeting with Ryan stuck in his head. Jansen is sure that Ryan would be fun, but spending even a short time with the man convinces him that he wants Ryan for keeps. Cheyenne is a woman who is manipulative and conniving. She pulls out all the stops to get Jansen’s attention never realizing who Jansen’s prey really is.

I thought this story was brilliant. Ryan, Jansen and Cheyenne certainly make for entertaining reading. Although this story is set over the period of just one night, it does have a flashback to two months earlier when Jansen and Ryan first met. And even though Jansen becomes ensnared by Ryan’s charm very quickly, it doesn’t seem quick. Because, Jansen watches Ryan from afar seeing him interact with others and how Ryan handles Cheyenne’s behavior. Ryan is infatuated by Jansen, but we don’t get his clear feelings at the end, we just get Jansen’s determination never to let a jewel like Ryan go.

I did really enjoy this story and really, really enjoyed watching Jansen let Cheyenne dig herself a huge hole. Ryan is an absolute sweetheart and Jansen is like watching a shark circle waiting for blood. The sex between Jansen and Ryan is scorching, the possessiveness that Jansen shows is a huge turn on and Ryan’s slight submission is hot. The ending to this story is a happy for now one, but you can tell that they will be blissfully happy together.

I will recommend this to those that love gay for you stories, great characters, a bitch getting her comeuppance, a sweet man getting what he really deserves and a playboy losing his heart… oh and the really hot sex.

Review: Randolph fled from the man he loves when an old adversary crawled out of the woodwork, thinking that if he disappeared his husband and son would be safe. Now, two years later, his adversary has upped his game and is targeting Leland and Grady as a way to get Randolph back to the city. Leland and Grady have continued with their lives’ in Randolph’s absence, their medical practice is flourishing, and then their new receptionist, Jeremy, convinces Grady to help out at the local shelter for street kids. But, then Grady is targeted by a stalker and Randolph calls in favors to protect the ones he loves. Can Randolph take down his adversary before he loses his family?

This is an interesting story of a man turning his back on his family to protect them from danger. Leland and Grady never knew the real reason behind Randolph’s disappearance and now two years later, it has come back to haunt them. Randolph thought his family would be safe with him gone, but he is now being proven wrong and it is a race to keep them safe. Grady flirts with the pretty private investigator, Megan, who is assigned to keep them safe, and Randolph and Leland have to see if their love has survived the two-year separation.

We enter this story with the everyday life of Leland and Grady as they manage their pediatric practice. They hire Jeremy, who in turn introduces them to a shelter for street kids. They have no idea they are the targets of a killer who wants Randolph dead. The mystery surrounding Randolph’s disappearance is cleared up for us quite quickly, so we aren’t left in suspense too long. Jeremy puts together the pieces of the vandalism and phone call and damn, but Edward Kendrick is mean for what he does next.

This is more a mystery/suspense than a romance and although there are a couple of kisses both m/m and m/f that is the extent of the sexual contact. the mystery is good, but I did question what was the point of Randolph disappearing to save his family in the first place, when everything that happen could have easily been put to rest two years earlier if he had just stayed and confronted his adversary. It’s still a good story and I did enjoy it, I just found it pointless for Randolph to have run off.

I will recommend this to those that love mystery, suspense, reuniting love, finding love, danger and a happy ending.

Blurb: Working for a California-based film production company, David McIntyre is the go-to man for matching the right location to the right project for the right price. On an extended trip to Hawaii, he hires Sutton’s Air Service to cart him all around to some of the most exotic locations in the South Pacific. During one of those trips, a freak tropical storm forces them to make a crash landing, leaving both men stranded without a radio and with very little in the way of food and water. Rick Sutton’s injuries make it imperative that they be rescued soon, and David finds himself calling on all his professional skills to keep both of them alive.

It takes a vivid dream about WW2 however, to make David realize that he has real feelings for Rick—more than just his natural concern that both of them get out of this mess alive. But putting his heart on the line might be the greatest risk David has ever taken—does he have the courage to make it before time runs out on both of them?

Review: Well, first of all, I’d like to acknowledge the beautiful cover work for this book. It’s fantastic and put me into a proper mind-space for the book.

Second, I’d like to stress the fact that this is a self-published work, so the typos and grammar errors I found on the way, especially at the second half of the book I’m not going to count all that much, mostly because they were not horrible and did not affect my reading enjoyment.

And now the story.

This is not the typical “we had a plane crash and fell in love while waiting rescue” story. From the very beginning, it had an underlined humor and a slow-build of intensity that grabs your attention. David is the character from whose point we see things and his personality comes forth early on. He’s the typical Hollywood guy, or so it seems, and everything about him screams hilarious. He’s the guy that will come up with a line from a movie for everything happening in real life and his knowledge on things is great. He is actually very intelligent, something we rarely see on Hollywood-types. Rick on the other hand is quite the opposite. He rarely speaks unless what he has to say is worth hearing; he’s serious and keeps to himself. He’s something of a mystery almost through the entire book.

So when the plane crashes you expect that Rick will take matters on his hand fending off a crazed Hollywood drama queen. Right there we get pleasantly surprised with Rick of course doing all he can, since he’s wounded, but David shows some real strength and determination, and an iron will to survive and keep Rick alive.

The second surprise that I had not seen coming was the fact that there is total lack of the “only two people on earth and let’s start screwing our brains out” factor. There is no jumping each other’s bones here while our characters are strangled in the island, only the slow build of emotions and feelings. On one hand I recognize the brilliance of this approach. It was damn invigorating to read a book where the realistic approach has been given proper weight. On the other hand though it made the ending somewhat surreal, but I’ll come back at that in a bit.

So the WWII historical story comes in the form of a dream. David has been quite stressed and exhausted trying to keep Rick in health long enough for the rescue team to find them. He’s also suffering his own wounds albeit smaller that Rick’s. The entire desperation of their situation hits him and in his dream, reality and fiction merge together. The story is quite wonderful indeed. It was partly inspired from Alan Turing’s life and work, partly on the WWII pilot’s and their sacrifices. I loved it. The thing that got me more was the fact that the author took parts of the prime story and blended them within the dream in a great way and indeed she gave life at the illusion of David hallucinating due to his circumstances.

So far I was utterly convinced that this was a 5 hearts read for me, unfortunately the end of the book didn’t satisfy me as much as I thought. David displays a side of him that I totally despised, a major drama-queen act that had my jaw hanging, and Rick; well I don’t know what to make for his final façade. If that was the real Rick than I’m very disappointed. Their relationship escalated in one go so fast, so furious that the “surreal” feeling didn’t let me go for many hours.

However, even though the end of this story let me down, I did enjoy the story in its entirety quite a lot. The writing skill was very good, the blending of contemporary and historical was of my taste and the intimate scenes as they were, were excellent for me.

So if you love a good romance with a bit war desperation blending in this is a book you’d love to read. I certainly enjoyed it.

Blurb: Reporter Kevin Price has a knack for tripping over his own feet. And everyone else’s. He’s in over his head undercover at the Haven, a swanky gay sex club, determined to find out why members of the club keep vanishing. Five minutes inside and he can no longer deny the truth about his sexuality. He turns to the one man he can’t get out of his head, the sexy ex-cop handling security. Too bad Kevin doesn’t trust cops. Not since the only night he let himself be with another man.

Walter Simon doesn’t do the club scene anymore. Not since he found love and lost it. That doesn’t mean he’ll let anyone hurt more innocent gay men. Even if that means going head-to-head with the klutzy, closeted, much-younger reporter. Kevin has information about the disappearances. Better to keep him close. And safe.

Neither is at the club to hook up or fall in love. Now they must work together amid their growing passion in order to uncover the truth before more men disappear.

Review: Kevin is a reporter going undercover at a gay club. He’s trying to discover what connections the club has to the disappearance of several young gay men. Easy, but he’s never admitted his sexuality even to himself. Meeting ex-cop Walter has Kevin admitting what he really wants, but is Walter covering for his friend, the owner of the club, or does he truly want to find the missing men? Walter is called in when a young man goes missing from inside his friend’s club. When he meets Kevin, he knows the younger man isn’t there for men. Just a glance told him Kevin is in the closet. Discovering Kevin has information about other disappearances has Walter offering to investigate together, but Kevin and Walter have more to worry about when the kidnapper sets his sights on Kevin.

This is a great suspense, mystery story. Kevin has hidden his sexuality for years. Denying he is gay because of the guilt he feels over the loss of his brother. Walter has his own ghosts from his past, losing his lover and being involved in a robbery gone bad has left him wary of having anyone get too close. The Haven is an exclusive club for gay men; young men have disappeared after working or visiting there. Both Kevin and Walter want to get to the bottom of the mystery and decide to work together. Falling in love wasn’t something either man planned and they both have to come to terms with their relationship, Kevin finally admits he is gay and Walter wonders if a relationship with a younger man is wise.

This story is well written in places and the mystery and suspense is good. Some scenes you have to suspend reality to get them to work especially the fight scenes, but there is a lot in this story that works. The whole mystery of the disappearing men is slightly sinister. I found it fascinating the way it was woven into the storyline and that it was connected to the sabotage of The Haven. The kidnapper is completely off his rocker and the brief flashes of his perspective let you know just how sick and twisted he is. I really liked the pace of Kevin and Walter’s relationship. They take it slow as they investigate and Kevin gets used to admitting to himself that he is gay.

Walter has a huge hang up about Kevin being younger than him. There is nineteen years difference, and it really hits Walter hard. Kevin has no qualms about being with an older man and confronts Walter before nearly giving up on him. Both characters have their personal demons to work through, but it doesn’t interfere with the hot sex between them. It starts off slow but the build-up is well worth it. I think that this story does well, but it trips up a bit in places; like tying in a corrupt police officer, who hates Walter, with the kidnapper was pushing it a little too much, it really wasn’t needed, it just made it more complicated.

I will recommend this to those who love mystery and suspense, ex-cops and reporters, May/December romances, coming out of the closet, hot sex, falling in love and a happy ending.

Blurb: Dan West is on his way to his friends’ place for some R & R from the Navy. But before he makes it to the small fishing town in Maine, a car accident changes his destination.

The injured young man, Patrick Prescott, turns out to be the mayor’s troubled son. He needs help, and Dan offers it. As a result, the lives of the two men become entwined. The old adage of saving someone’s life giving you responsibility over them seems to hold water.

Patrick is haunted by inner demons. His closeted life pushes him to recklessly pursue Dan at all costs, as though he actively sought his own ruin. But Dan has his own reasons for coming to meet his former CO, and that does not include getting in bed with Patrick, since he’s not in town to stay.

When two different worlds collide, even two men who are oceans apart in every sense must find a way to cope—together

Review: This book started off promising. The blurb was intriguing, but I didn’t love it. Dan, the XO of a submarine for the Navy, stumbles upon the wreck in the country while on vacation. He calls his friends for assistance and they let him know it’s probably Patrick the town screw up. Dan goes to check on the man and quickly realizes the man is wasted and is indeed Patrick.  Dan tries to do the right thing by denying some pretty strong advances at the crash site, but a few kisses occur and Patrick dubs Dan his fiery Angel.

Dan feels some strange need to take care of the man after the strange moments they shared at the crash site. He can tell Patrick is scared and prepared to be ridiculed for another failure, but Dan tells him it’s just a bad day. Patrick knows he’s out of control. He’s has his own dreams but they’re being crushed under his father’s guilt and vicarious expectations. Dan instantly brings a calm to Patrick’s life. No judging or lecturing. He’s just there for Patrick who seems to need him. Patrick is drawn to Dan and after his kindness he wants him near while he fights the hangover and injuries. Dan takes him to his friend’s home to recuperate. Patrick and Dan quickly give into their lust, but Dan is leaving in a week and Patrick isn’t out in his town. So what does this mean for their budding romance?

I think I would have enjoyed this book more if it weren’t for the continuity problems. A person shouldn’t be able to speak of the character of someone they’ve known for less than a day so strongly. If it was one time I could have over looked it but it just kept happening. If someone has repeatedly crashed their car drunk enough to have a reputation then police should be called regardless of the person’s stature in the community. Dan stating early in the book he’d always wanted to be in the navy then saying he just followed his brother. I feel like if I can see these things, someone else should have.

Also, all conflict in the book was resolved too easily.  Years of problems are reconciled after a few minutes of talking and it just wasn’t realistic at all.  I liked the premise of the book but sadly will probably remember the faults far outweigh the positives here.

Blurb: Willie Mae Dollar is lost in a blizzard in the backwoods of West Virginia when she lands at the home of life partners Jeff Antonetti and Linc Davis. She knows they are in a committed relationship, but that doesn’t stop her from being taken with Jeff and then Linc.

Although not a homewrecker, she can see where it would be great to have both men.

Jeff is very accepting of the idea. The partners have been looking for another person to add to their life, and Willie fits the bill. Linc has a problem because he has spent his life self-identified as an out, loud, and proud man. Willie challenges that and with the help of her adoptive Hispanic family tries to convince her guys that she is their lady.

Review:  Jeff and Linc are life partners, and have been for 20 years.  They are looking for a third, but Linc is strictly dickly so he says. Jeff is Bi but hasn’t had a woman since college, before he met Linc. Willie gets lost in a storm and ends up at Jeff and Linc’s cabin.  Has their third landed on their doorstep and better than that, is this their surrogate mother for their children?

I liked this story. It was written in a unique way with Willie talking out loud a lot. The story is a lot of dialogue and most of it is Willie even when she is alone.  I liked all the characters and even though this is a second book in a series you really wouldn’t know. It stands perfectly well and makes me want to read the first book just for the heck of it. There is a sweet, very romantic fairy tale type of romance, charming characters and lots of sex.

Now for what I didn’t like.  Just a few minutes after meeting each other, Willie and Jeff, a man in a loving relationship that hasn’t had a woman in over twenty years, go at it on the kitchen table. When Linc walks in, he isn’t mad at all, but shows a bit of concern.  Then after dinner they all end up in bed and he keeps saying he is strictly Dickly, but he goes at Willie every chance he gets, too. She also proclaims over and over she is a good girl and don’t have sex casually or one night stands.  Jeff announces he wants her to have their children and Linc says they can keep her but he still isn’t into women. This all makes the story very unbelievable. However saying this I loved the story it was sweet, hot, sexy and so romantic. I will be looking for the first book to see what if it’s about Jeff and Linc, since I would love to know more about them.

Recommendation: I recommend this to anyone that likes a bi-racial story, Hot Drs. Sexy PA’s blizzards and lots of three-way sexes. Warning this does have mostly Male on Female sex and is light on the male on male sex.

Review:  Short, Sexy and Steamy… my three favorite colors! If you are looking for a quick read with some extremely passionate guy on guy action then this is the story for you.

Henry Kadison is at a nightclub with some friends sitting in the corner, nursing his sprite as the DD when tall, dark and smoldering Blake approaches him. Blake is everything Henry is not, Sexy, successful and comfortable with his sexuality. Henry’s inexperience is endearing for Blake and he decides he must have him. Young Henry is more than willing to let Blake be his teacher!

As I said this is a very short read, a freebie through Amazon at the moment in fact, but it would be worth paying a few dollars for. The electricity between these two is immediate and enthralling. If you are a fan of the genre, you definitely must read this one. I would LOVE to see a full length novel for this pair in the future.  I’ll be searching for more titles from this author.

Feeding from pack beta Liam Benson was supposed to slake his appetite, not leave him craving more.

Simon Osborne and Gray Townsend are trying to fight a being history says shouldn’t exist—one with all three types of magic. The pack must use all of their resources to combat the mysterious triad, even turning to the shady Council of Mages for help. While Cormac struggles to reconcile his past failures with his current desires, Simon must attempt the impossible: an alliance between mind, body, and soul.

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. After being gravely injured when the High Moon Pack was attacked, Cormac has been unable to slake his thirst. Terrified that he will be a danger to his family, he has been avoiding them until pack beta, Liam comes searching for him. Liam’s offer to feed him to take the edge off his hunger works, but both men are drawn to each other for more than just convenience. Simon and Gray are facing a foe that is powerful. Trying to find a solution to their problems is hard when they have the Council of Weres breathing down their necks and they have to turn to the disbelieving Council of Mages for aid.

Soul Magic is the final installment of the Triad series. weaving together all the tendrils from the previous books to bring us a final showdown that is brilliant. Cormac is struggling to keep a leash on his blood lust, when Liam insists on feeding him so he can help the pack. it is an experience for both of them. Cormac and Liam become close and start to develop a relationship as they wade through the problems that someone from Cormac’s past throws at them. We see a great amount of Gray and Simon as their strong relationship is tested and they support each other through the trials they face, as they pull together their pack, family and the Mage and Were Councils.

I loved the way this story didn’t miss anything from the previous books. everything that we have learned in the past comes to fruition in an amazing confrontation between a true triad and a poor imitation triad. The storyline has stayed strong throughout the series. Each relationship has been brilliant and Cormack’s and Liam’s is no different. they are really hot together and burn up the pages. Although I adored the story I just wish we could have seen more of Cormac and Liam and their relationship developing. Instead, we got scenes of them together, but Simon dominated more of the storyline, so I felt that Cormac and Liam got cheated.

I will recommend this story to those who love paranormal, fantasy, mages, vampires, shifters, a complex storyline coming to fruition, loving characters, danger, loss, finding love and a very happy fantastic ending.

Blurb:  Will Kris’s sire assist him in saving a pack of wolves from an Ancient one, or will Kris find himself abandoned again when he needs his sire most?

Kris has been fine, even happy, while living in the territory of wolves, giving help when needed, but when the wolves start dying and Kris is asked for help, the only one he can think to turn to is his sire. While Kris might fear being abandoned again by the one he holds most dear, he’ll do anything to save those who welcomed him when he was broken, even if it means seeking out the man who left him broken in the first place.

Reviewer:   Pammie

Review:  When members of his adopted pack are killed, Kris seeks help from his sire, willing to face the one who hurt and abandoned him for the sake of his adopted family. When they meet the attraction between them flares hot and strong, but Will stills sends Kris away.

Disregarding his sire’s advice not to pursue the rogue vampire, known as Tiger, Kris instead sets himself up as a decoy to draw him out and protect his pack. The ploy works too well. Tiger is far stronger than Kris. However, Will arrives and defeats Tiger, and his desire for Kris explodes into life.

Kris races, with Will at his heels; to the one place they both feel safe. Once inside, Will confesses he sent Kris away out of fear; fear of losing him, and fear of admitting the power of his love for Kris. They claim one another in a night of passion.

When Kris wakes, he has physical reminders of their passion, and the mental link to Will denoting their relationship, but before he can luxuriate, he is transported before Gaia.  Gaia had warned Will against fighting Tiger, and threatened to take Kris from Will. The entity kidnapped Kris as Will’s punishment. However Kris is quickly returned to Will.

Although I liked this story, it felt a little rushed. The werewolves and their leader, John, are barely in the story, except as a reason for Kris to seek out Will, and the end felt very rushed. But, if you like vampires and are looking for a short, sexy read this is for you.

Review:  Johnny is the lead singer for the band Frenzied Water. A band in need of a drummer. Enter Frank Harold. Frank has left the group Heirloom at the height of their fame for the lesser known rock band and Johnny wants to know why.

The more time these two spend together, the more evident their attraction to one another becomes. Johnny finally gets his wish one night and lands in bed wrapped in Frank’s arms. But Frank is still raw from his break up with his former band’s lead singer and is determined not to get involved with another musician again.

As luck would have it, Johnny gets another chance when he, Frank and two of the members of Heirloom are snowed in a mountain cabin. Will the day after be a repeat of their last sexual encounter? Of will Johnny finally get Frank to admit he loves him as well?

This book is the short, gay version of Sex, Drugs and Rock&Roll! If you are looking for a quick steamy read, then this is the book for you. I was fanning myself and wiping the steam off my Kindle by the end. This is another short read that I would love to have a full length novel of. The storyline of fortune, fame and broken trust was enticing. The last sex scene between Frank and Johnny was so passionate and steamy, I was panting!

Jarred has no intention of giving in to fate, but the inescapably erotic mate-bonding process has begun—and Drew Wellington is not the only one in danger. Secrets about Peter are about to be revealed, even to himself. A rival wolf with an old claim and a new plan unleashes an alpha transformation Peter cannot control. Saving Drew and claiming Jarred will mean learning to tame the power of the wolf.

Review: Peter is all set for an interview for a coveted job, when he catches the eye of the boss’s son and nearly gets turfed out on his ear. Jarred is shocked when he first sets eyes on Peter, but at his father’s (Drew) urging accepts the other man. Peter is about to be confronted with his new future, a future that will change his life forever. But, with Jarred by his side anything is possible. Both Peter and Jarred might be able to circumvent fate and save Drew and put a stop to the wolf who is laying claim to Peter. But, just who is the Alpha between them?

This story has some great ideas, but the execution was weak. Peter has no clue what he is walking into when he goes for an interview. Meeting the Wellington’s is about to shake the foundations of his life. Jarred never wants to meet his mate, because he knows it heralds his father’s death and the last thing he wants is to lose his father. When Jarred and Peter meet and their hands meet the connection is made. Jarred thinks that all he has to do now is keep an eye on his dad and keep him out of danger, but Peter reacts strangely and they discover that Peter has a secret of his own that Peter didn’t even know.

Jarred and Peter are great characters who both battle to be top dog. Their connection is primal and passionate and the sex is explosive and hot. They both hurtle head long into their mating, even when they want to hold back. They both have a lot on their plates, with Jarred worried about his dad, discovering his mate and trying to keep the business afloat. Peter has to cope with his sudden discovery of shifters, the secret about himself and the Alpha wolf who wants him. They both have to deal with the urge to mate and they have to work together to keep Drew safe and to keep Peter out of the hands of the Alpha wolf.

When I read the blurb I expected the book to have more of a corporate setting, but other than Peter and Jarred meeting at work and some vague mentionings about the business being in trouble, the setting of the story is mainly outside. I liked how the shifters were though. they are much more primal and back to basic shifters, with the moon being the main influence and with the human sides keeping a very tight rein on the wolves. The actual relationship between Peter and Jarred is a very basic want/need with no emotional connection developing between them, but the whole storyline is set over just a few days so there was no real time for them to progress with it.

I will recommend this story to those who love passionate paranormals, a touch of danger, an interesting storyline, hot men, even hotter sex and a very happy ending.

Blurb: Andreas was born a Spartan warrior, long before human history even records Sparta existing. He served directly under Ares, until the day his lover was killed on the battlefield in front of him. On that day, he met his father, the mysterious Black Dragon God known as Jarel. From then on, he served his father faithfully, enforcing the laws of the primordial embodiment of black fire and father of the paranormal.

Now, in these modern times, he hunts the rogue vampires and their leader. Little does he know, there’s more to this than vampires simply turning against his father. While protecting the lovely Cassandra Odele, Andreas must battle forces he doesn’t know as he attempts to stop the resurrection of the Titan king, Cronus. Added to his problems, he now has two teenage nephews to see into adulthood. Of course, there’s always a twist when dealing with the gods, and Andreas will come face to face with his past, leaving him to decide which is more important, his soul or the world?

Review: Andreas has served his father, the Black Dragon God, for thousands of years, enforcing the laws for all paranormals. When his father asks him to protect a human from the vampires, little does he know what he is about to walk into. as a vampire attempts to resurrect Cronus, Andreas is made guardian to his twin nephews who also become targets and with gods causing trouble, Andreas past comes into play and Andreas has a choice to make; his loyalty to his father and God or his love for his soul mate.

This is a fantastic fantasy world that immerses us in the world of Gods, Goddesses and paranormals. Andreas held his lover, Kazarian, in his arms as he died on the battlefield among the Spartans. Only to have Ares appear before him, seconds too late to save Kazarian, but not too late to save Andreas from a similar fate, because he is the son of the Black Dragon God, Jarel. Now, in this modern age, he serves his father enforcing his laws, but there is an attempt to resurrect Cronus and overthrow Zeus, and Andreas is called upon to guard a mortal and his nephews to prevent it from happening. But, the conspirators play dirty, trying to force Andreas to do their bidding. But, they also make a mistake by showing the involvement of a god or goddess.

I really enjoyed this story of mythical gods and goddesses and the world they live in. Andreas is only one of the main characters in this book with each character bringing a bit of their own story to the table. Weaving together a wonderful fantasy that has veiled hints for future couples, uncovers a conspiracy and is a touch violent. This is a well written story that draws you in. feeding you bits and pieces and making you long for more. There are many characters that you get to know and you begin to wonder what their stories will be. Brandon, Demun, Vic, Apollo, Adonis and Odele along with Jarel, Andreas and Kazarian make this book vastly interesting.

While we don’t get the chance to see much of Andreas and Kazarian together because of the flow of the storyline, the time they do get together is incredible and when they come together in passion it is wonderful and passionate. There’s action and danger that is well described and fits perfectly into the story. The paranormal powers aren’t overused and it actually adds more to the story because of that. Drako has created a world that I want to know more about and although I personally don’t like M/F, I will still be reading the other books in this series because I need to know what happens next with Jarel and Zeus.

I recommend this book if you love paranormal, fantasy, battles and fights, tastefully placed humor, some fantastic love-making, great characters, a wonderful storyline and an ending that is happy for Andreas and Kazarian, but leaves you wanting the stories of other characters.
