Blurb: Life’s a beach… and then you meet the guy of your dreams.

Flynn Wright’s role on the upcoming teen drama Coconut Cove means a fresh start in the land of crystal water, palm trees, and gorgeous people. The move to the beautiful beaches of Key West, Florida—and away from LA and his conniving ex—is just what Flynn needs.

Meeting sexy bartender Seth is the cherry on top of Flynn’s colorful frozen drink, and he can’t wait to take a taste. But Seth isn’t impressed by Flynn’s Hollywood good looks, nor is he interested in the complications of dating an actor, no matter how hot.

Can Flynn dodge his scheming ex and the eager paparazzi while showing Seth that he is more than a pretty package?

Review: Actor Flynn is looking for a new part after the negotiations for his current role on The Presidio seems to have stalled; he’s also looking for a way to distance himself from the fallout from breaking things off with his roommate… who is also his co-star. Coconut Cove seems like a dream come true, and Flynn throws himself into his new role. When bartender Seth catches his eye Flynn is unsure of his welcome as Seth seems less than impressed. Seth isn’t interested in being in the public eye but Flynn is hard to ignore.

This is a great start to what looks to be a very tantalising series. Flynn made a mistake of getting involved with a co-star and now that the ‘relationship’ has ended his co-star seems to have pulled strings and Flynn now has to look for a new part. Coconut Cove comes at the perfect time and it will also get him out of L.A. and into Key West so he can have a break from the tension. Seth is the bartender who catches Flynn’s eye but Seth has his own past and wants no part of the limelight but when Flynn needs him most Seth has to choose between trying to protect Flynn or allowing Flynn’s ex to manipulate Flynn.

I really enjoyed this story and loved how parts of Coconut Cove came alive at the beginning of some chapters. Both Flynn and Seth are great characters with Flynn being very down to earth and Seth wary of fame, together they are hot and they are also pretty easy going when they are together but there is tension between them as Seth has to decide what he wants. Flynn is great as he deals with his ex, Bennett, and he handles the fall out well.

We are also treated to an interesting array of secondary characters and I am sure you will notice a couple of familiar names… is that a coincidence or are some of our favourite authors moonlighting as film crew????

I recommend this to those who love new beginnings, finding new love, putting the past to rest and a great beginning to an enjoyable series.

Lights, camera… wardrobe?

Coconut Cove is television’s newest hot sensation. The glitzy teen drama set in the beach lover’s paradise of Key West is the talk of every gossip rag eager for dirt and hookup news on the hot young actors—like Levi Phillips, who plays the show’s resident bad boy.

Levi’s attraction to costume designer Whit heads into high romance when Whit orders Levi out of his clothes—in an attempt to save Levi from heat exhaustion, of course.

Sassy Whit knows just how to dress, and undress, Levi, and soon the sexy duo are steaming it up offscreen, which is no surprise to their friends and castmates.

But love in the public eye is complicated, and rumors pose challenges that can threaten careers and love….

Dogwood Days

Small-town heroes and big-town hearts.

When Jefferson Lee Davis leaves his life in the big city to return to the small Southern town of Holly Creek, his natural charm soon has the residents eating out of his hand. Jefferson Lee steps up to help with Holly Creek’s biggest festival, Dogwood Days, which puts him directly in the path of the town’s hunky sheriff, Zane Yarbrough. Quirky neighbors, meddling family, and a sassy best friend make Jefferson Lee’s life a full-time adventure, and he warms to the idea of making a home in Holly Creek – a life that might include Zane.

But as the summer Rose Festival looms around the corner and more small-town secrets come to light, Jefferson Lee and Zane must take a long look at their blossoming romance. If they’re going to make it as a couple, they ll have to work through their trust issues and believe that the relationship they’re building can weather any storm that blows their way.

Spring Fever

Jefferson Lee Davis, Holly Creek’s new director of publicity, is gearing up for the next big town event, the summer Rose Festival. The job is running smoothly, but the course of true love has hit a rocky patch. His hunky boyfriend, Sheriff Zane Yarbrough, is receiving mysterious phone calls he doesn’t want to discuss. While Jefferson Lee is blindsided by jealousy, the second shoe drops with the appearance of a handsome stranger in the small, tight-knit community. Needing answers, Jefferson Lee enlists his best gal pal, Clover Crofton, to help find out what secrets Zane is hiding. When they land themselves in more trouble than Jefferson Lee bargained for, he and Zane face the first big test of their relationship. Zane and Jefferson Lee must work through their trust issues if they’re going to make it as a couple, and Clover may just have a thing or two to learn herself.

Review: For me, Dogwood Days & Spring Fever was absolutely wonderful to listen to (it is equally as fantastic to read, too, in my opinion). As you can tell from the title, this audiobook is a compilation of the two books in Poppy Dennison’s Holly Creek series.

I describe this one as a sweet MM – which sometimes is exactly what you need to sit back and forget your troubles. The story is essentially the trials and tribulations of Jefferson Lee after he goes to help his favourite uncle who had spent every summer with as a child in Holly Creek, NC. And OMG it is so dang Southern and cute that he is called Jefferson Lee the whole way through and not just Jefferson. There are a whole host of characters that make this a very colourful story. Of course, there is Jefferson Lee’s love interest, hunky sheriff Zane, as well as Jefferson’s uncle, Sherman (the Holly Creek know-it-all) whose arguments with Mayor Charles are legendary and hiding maybe a lot of sexual tension! Then there is Jefferson Lee’s best friend in Holly Creek, Clover. She is the Holly Creek busybody and is an absolute riot. Honestly, that is just a sample of these wide and varied characters but they are definitely my favourites, aside from Jefferson Lee, who is a complete sweetheart.

The story itself is basically Jefferson Lee trying to make the nutty people of Holly Creek happy. Getting to know more about the hunky sheriff and of course, being a devoted nephew to his “bachelor uncle”, Uncle Sherman, after breaking his leg. They take their Dogwood Days and Spring Fever Festivals very seriously in Holly Creek, most especially Uncle Sherman, and it is Jefferson Lee and Uncle Sherman at the front of promoting and reporting the news to Holly Creek.

If you’re looking for light and fluffy, with sweet and sexy, this is definitely the book for you. It is basically everything I love about Poppy Dennison. It also helps if you love some old fashioned Southern treatment mixed into your story. I really, dearly, hope that there will be more stories coming out of Holly Creek. Hell, after reading Spring Fever, I want a MF story for Clover! On top of all that, I have to say that I really enjoyed the narration for the most part. This is the first time I’ve heard anything by Matt Armstrong and would be interested in hearing more from him, no matter the author.

Review: Spring Fever picks up roughly where Dogwood Days left off and it’s just as amazing as Dogwood Days, maybe even better! But, if you have any plans to read this without previously reading Dogwood Days, I’m afraid that’s not going to work. Spring Fever has the same cast of charming, funny, crazy, amazing characters as Dogwood Days and the main characters are still Sheriff Zane and Jefferson Leigh.

There’s a new guy in town and his name is Troy. You see, Troy is six feet of perfection. A blond hunk of a man who’s taking too much of Zane’s time. Jefferson Leigh just KNOWS something’s up. Because Zane is suddenly very secretive, unwilling to talk about Troy, and was seen at Troy’s house the night he was supposed to be away on duty. Is Troy someone from Zane’s past that is back and wants another shot at Zane? Well have no fear, undercover agents Jefferson Leigh and Clover will get to the bottom of this mystery!

If you’ve read Dogwood Days, you probably remember how hilarious and dangerous Clover and Jefferson Leigh are together. I had a smile on my face the entire time those two plotted and found ways to get in trouble. Clover is just as hilarious as you remember and they’re so ridiculously over the top they’re downright charming!

I want to move over there and move in next to Zane’s house, because I heard his blinds always stay open and there’s plenty of dirty things taking place in that house. Like Jefferson Leigh getting fucked against a wall. Holy fuck, I NEED to see that!!!

This  story is brilliantly written. Because, while I laughed with Clover and Jefferson Leigh, I also felt those icy fingers down my spine when Troy came around.

I would say this is almost a cliffhanger, because the story ends in such a way that makes it obvious there’s more coming up. Hopefully soon!

Don’t worry, Zane and Jefferson Leigh are just fine…

Review: I have read a few books by this author and was amazed with the worlds she creates. This one you actually get two stories mixed into one book. Not only will they have you laughing your ass off but will also have you guessing. They are fun to read and perfect for cheering you up.

In Dogwood Days, Jefferson has left his home and moved back to Holly Creek. He moved there when his favorite uncle had a little accident but now it has made him the happiest man around. He has found the man he loves and everyone in town just loves him. He is also going to help them with their festivals.

Now it is a cute little quirky story that will have you laugh at the man. It seems he just has a way about him.

Then in Spring Fever he is helping his neighbors with the Rose Festival and trying to figure out what his sexy man is hiding. One mention of another man and Jefferson and Clover are on the hunt to find out more about him. It would seem his ass is jealous. However When Troy and Clover get in the same room, talk about fireworks.

This was one of the best stories I have come across in a few days and I was happy to read it. Although I have to say that it being an ARC cover and not finished kind of sucked. First off I would have loved to see the two hotties and gotten a look at it. Then it was a bit hard to read because it wasn’t fully finished but I got to tell you that I definitely want the final story.

This was one story I would definitely recommend.

Blood runs soul-deep. Cormac hasn’t been the same since the night the High Moon Pack was attacked. With his magic weakened, he’s consumed by a bloodlust he hasn’t felt since he first became a vampire. His need to replenish his power makes him a danger to his last remaining family member, and his hunger makes him careless. And that’s just the beginning of his troubles. Feeding from pack beta Liam Benson was supposed to slake his appetite, not leave him craving more.

Simon Osborne and Gray Townsend are trying to fight a being history says shouldn’t exist—one with all three types of magic. The pack must use all of their resources to combat the mysterious triad, even turning to the shady Council of Mages for help. While Cormac struggles to reconcile his past failures with his current desires, Simon must attempt the impossible: an alliance between mind, body, and soul.

Review: In this third instalment of the Triad series, we finally learn the identity of the Demon that took the cubs and has repeatedly attacked the High Moon Pack and it’s variety of magical members.

Cormac has distanced himself from Simon and the pack since the battle with the Triad for fear of losing control of his hunger around them. Gray sends Liam, his pack beta, to check on the centuries old vampire for Simon’s sake. Liam finds the sexy, blonde vampire at a bar all but openly feeding on a human. Taking matters into his own hands, Liam offers himself up for Cormac to feed on, but doesn’t share this with his alpha. The last thing the two men expect is to be drawn to each other.

While Cormac deals with a thirst he hasn’t felt since he was first turned and his attraction to Liam, the two ban together to try to discover the identity of the Triad and a way to kill it. Being in close quarters and spending much of their time together it doesn’t take long for chemistry to ignite. But someone from Cormac’s past is about to make an appearance, and stir up all kinds of trouble. Not just for Cormac, Liam and the pack but for the entire magical race.

Since I had books one –three on audible, from the start I was able to listen to these stories back to back, and they flow together flawlessly like one long book broken into three pieces. With each piece of the story, these various characters have grown closer to discovering the identity of the Triad. Along the way, I’ve become completely invested in each and every one of them. From the youngest Garen who could possibly posses all three forms of magic, to the uncertain and naive Mage Simon who fell in crazy love with the alpha on sight. Gray, the head strong and fearless leader of the High Moon pack, who will stop at nothing to protect his family. Each and every member of his pack is his family.

The inclusion of Cade and Liam intricately into the books as Gray’s lifelong friends, Aunt Maggie, the council members, Rocky who is seemingly weak and insignificant, who grows into a major part of the stories. And Cormac, he is quite possibly my favourite character. Dennison truly brings all these varying characters to life and gives each person their own unique personality and Davis tells their stories so well that you always know who he is portraying at any given time.

I’ve failed to mention the utter sexiness in my previous reviews for this series. From the library to the fireplace to the bedroom, these guys know how to fog up your ear buds! If you haven’t read this series, you must. Especially if you have a penchant for shifter romance.

Cade Montgomery’s confidence took a hit when the pack’s cubs were kidnapped on his watch. He’s prepared to do anything to protect his family, even if it means working with Rocky. Review: Cade Montgomery is strong, fierce and loyal to his best friend Gray, alpha of their pack. The big man is still angry with himself for the kidnapping of the cubs while he was supposed to be guarding them. Now they have an IT specialist on loan from another pack to help beef up their security and Cade hasn’t trusted the wolf much from the start. The two have butted heads, but there is something about the lithe, smaller wolf that captures Cade’s attention.

Rocky Harris is an Omega and a spy. His pack alpha sent him to High Moon Pack under the guise of helping them with their systems and security so that he could gain knowledge for a possible takeover. Rocky’s pack still believes in the vastly outdated ways of not mixing magics or species and believes Gray’s mating with Simon should not be tolerated. Rocky struggles with the love and acceptance he sees and feels with Cade and this pack, but his mind is muddled with what he’s been taught and told his entire life. Well that, and his attraction to the seemingly dominate wolf Cade, who is actually quite submissive to Rocky’s intentions.

All the while Cade and Rocky dance around each other, Simon is still learning to deal with his newfound family and powers with the impending visit from the Council looming over them as well. Simon is fearful that the Council will reject his, Gray’s mating, and he’ll lose the man he loves, and a wolf pack he has grown to love. Rocky is growing roots within the pack as well, but an Omega is sensitive to his own Alpha’s commands, and his alpha wants to take over this pack. Will Rocky stand fast behind the archaic beliefs of his own pack? Or will he open himself to the possibility of a life here with Cade, open and accepting even if he is an Omega?

The author and the narrator kept the steady and intense flow going from book one over into book two. These stories flow so well and even though the world is rooted in the paranormal, there is a reality to the mix matched family of Wolves, Mages and Vampires that adds a personality to the stories that really interests me. I love the ever-evolving relationship between Simon and Gray and that they remain the foundation of the books even when they aren’t the main focus. Simon and Rocky both struggle a lot in this particular installment and show a lot of personal growth. As I said in my review for Mind Magic, this really is a must read series for fans of the paranormal and shifter stories.

Blurb: Magical species must never mix. According to the rules, Simon Osborne should ignore the children’s cries for help. After all, they’re werewolf cubs, and he’s an apprentice mage. But for once in his life, Simon breaks the rules and rescues the cubs, saving them from a demon intent on draining them of their magic.

Of course, all actions have consequences, and Simon’s bold move earns him the displeasure of his peers and the attention of the cubs’ alpha, a man named Gray Townsend.

The last thing Gray needs is a mage in his life, but Simon did save his son. Since Simon is now a friend of the pack, Gray doesn’t have much choice about it—or the forbidden attraction that goes along with it. Unfortunately, for the alpha, he needs Simon’s help to track down the demon behind the kidnappings—before it strikes again. Simon and Gray must join forces to protect the pack, even as they struggle to resist the temptation that threatens to destroy them both.

Review: Simon is a Mage apprentice in a world where Vampires, Werewolves, Demons and Mages exist. They just don’t coexist very well.

He breaks their code of remaining indifferent when it comes to a magic outside of his own when he rescues several young werewolf cubs that have been kidnapped by a demon who is draining their magic, and subsequently killing them in the process. Simon is not only a very talented Mage. He is generally a decent, kindhearted person. He’s been held back from his gift by his teacher unknowingly, who has actually been draining his magic instead of helping him develop it.

Simon is instantly drawn to the Alpha of the pack, when he brings their cubs home. Tension runs high, as I said, the races don’t mix, but Garen the Alpha’s son has named Simon a friend of the pack. The attraction to the two men share is just one obstacle they will have to face. Garen and Simon are now connected somehow, mentally. So when the demon comes back to prey on the one that got away, Garen reaches out to Simon. When Gray and Simon are brought back together when Simon comes to help Garen, the mutual attraction is more than they can fight. But Simon refuses to be mated to Gray just for his packs protection.

I absolutely loved the concept behind this story. There are three types of magic, a triad if you will. The Mages, Mind Magic. The Wolves, Body Magic. And the Vampires, Soul Magic. Problems in the past have caused the three races to pull apart from each other and demand that their people live their lives separately, but The High Moon pack along with Simon and his grandfather will challenge this dusty belief.

There was a lot happening throughout this book, but the author managed to keep it all cohesive and contained, I never lost interest or got confused. The different types of magic and creatures and their archaic ways of thinking was intriguing. And then to have the new breed of the races shown in Gray and Simon that fall in love and challenge these “rules” was refreshing and only strengthened the storyline. The narration as well was good and kept my attention from start to finish. It’s always nice to have a narrator that tells the story and doesn’t just read it, subtle nuances and tone changes are key and Davis definitely conveyed those well throughout.

I’m excited to see where this series goes with the addition of Simon’s “grandfather” and the still looming threat of the demon in their midst. Fantastic listen, highly recommend it to fans of the paranormal genre.

Review: This book is part of a series and is best read in order. Joseph stumbles across a dying mountain lion and two young boys while hiking. He is surprised and disbelieving, when the lion changes into the sister of his childhood best friend, Dominick. She begs him to take the children and take them to Dominick. Dominick, a U.S. Marshal, is surprised when Joseph calls telling him his sister is dead and his nephews need him. He rushes home to protect his nephews and to discover what happened to his sister. But, he never forgot Joseph, the man he longed for. Now, Joseph knows the truth about shifters, Dominick can only hope that he now has a chance at happiness.

While this story is directly linked to the previous books, it is more of an offshoot wrapping up the loose ends of Riley’s confession of his pack mates in Soul Magic. Joseph gets more than he bargained for, while taking a hike in the woods. His discovery helps to explain why his best friend cut him out of his life, but Joseph isn’t prepared to forgive so easily. Dominick left Joseph behind rather than admit his secret. Now, with Joseph discovering his secret and helping to care for his nephews, Dominick hopes he will have a chance to make Joseph his. But, first, he has to discover what happened to his old pack and protect his nephews.

I quite enjoyed this story. It wasn’t as action packed or magic filled as the previous books, but it was still a very enjoyable story. Dominick left Joseph behind years ago, because his attraction to Joseph was causing his shift to become unstable. Dominick couldn’t tell Joseph his secret. Now, though, Joseph has discovered the truth and Dominick discovers the attraction is still as fierce as ever. Joseph still finds it hard to believe what he saw, but with Dominick confirming it, Joseph is overcome with hurt that Dominick never told him. While they dance around their feelings for each other, they have more important things to worry about. Like what happened to Dominick’s old pack and looking after two boys who have just lost their mother.

The relationship between Dominick and Joseph is pretty good, with just a touch of hurt feelings keeping them from acting on their attraction. Dominick and Joseph work together to look after Blake and Avery. And when they discover what happened to the pack, they have to decide together what is best for the boys. I really liked the storyline and liked how everything connected together, giving us answers and wrapping up a loose end. The way the relationship played out was quite relaxed, with no real tension other than hurt feelings. But, it takes some time for those hurt feelings to fade. The dilemma of what was best for the boys was well thought out. With the adults tense, while the boys playing nicely, unaware of the tension floating around. We do get to see Gray and Simon, as Dominick goes to them with questions, and gets a lot more answers than he thought he would.

I recommend this to those who love shifters, reuniting children, rekindling friendship and love, some smoking hot sex and two men finding their happily ever after.

Review: You get it, right? Right from the blurb you know, you just know it’s going to be hilarious. You have that expectation, and mostly you hope to whatever deity, that it will be a good read and not disappoint you. Fear not, all that hope and expectations are met head on and then some.

For crying out loud, this author has a very nice sense of humor, turning the most ludicrous, awkward, and overwhelming moments of a man losing his sanity into hilarious scenes for the reader.

Just imagine for a moment being a person that craves solitude and peace. You buy a house in the middle of freaking nowhere, assured by that idiot real estate agent that there is only one neighbor in near vicinity, but peace and solitude are never there. Why? Because that only neighbor of yours apparently has a huge freaking family. Yeah! Oh, oh, and imagine one of those family members running loose and dropping on your porch, but you can’t yell at him or scare him off because he’s a toddler, and wait it gets better, you actually have to get the kid back into a house full with people…

I don’t know, I can’t really show you how freaking hilarious I found this. I can’t possibly make you understand how much my belly hurt from laughing when said toddler bit Lex’s neck hard enough that he passed out. And the rest, oh man, it was just awesome.

But all the above only complement the humor of the text. The story itself was pretty great too, and I’m very picky when it comes to werewolves and packs dynamic. Let’s see: originality-check. Who has ever read of an accidental Alpha? This Alpha is not born into a pack, he’s chosen from a toddler Alpha, and he was human so he’s completely new to this. Not only he has changed into a werewolf, but also he’s the damned Alpha, he has a duty to protect and provide for these… strangers!

His incredulity besides being utterly hilarious (can’t say that enough) was well written. The character, Lex was so, so perfect in his confusion and his antics. The way he grows into this new life, new responsibilities, and having a big “family” was a joy to read. The way he didn’t bat an eye when time came to fight and shed some blood, oh man, that was awesome too. I loved him. I loved the plot. I loved the rest of the characters. I loved Mia, and Nathan, and Ruby, and Spencer.

I wish it were longer though. I wish there was a bit more time for a bit more development, and some questions answered. I am assuming that those questions will slowly answer themselves as the series continue, and I’m seriously hoping that we’ll see more of Lex and Spencer in those future installments.

As it is, if you’re a fan of paranormal/wereshifter stories I strongly recommend this one to you, it’s original in its theme, it’s fun and funny, and it’s really hot there when our guys get together. Just read it, you’ll love it too. 🙂

When Dayton shows up unannounced on his doorstep, Hart wants nothing more than to claim him.

Review: When Dayton injuries his arm playing basketball, he has to visit a specialist in Atlanta and does a favor for his best friend, Tawny. He visits her estranged brother, Hart. Hart was banished from the pride when he was eighteen. being a Liger and more powerful than the alpha, his father, was a huge mark against him and he was told he could never contact the pack again. Hart always planned to go back for his mate, Drayton, the only human adopted by the pride, when he was settled. But, fear of rejection has him putting it off. When Drayton turns up at his apartment, Hart knows it’s time to claim his mate. But, Drayton isn’t ready for commitment…. And Hart has to confront his father to keep his mate.

This is a great shifter story with just a bit of tension and a touch of angst. Dayton basically grew up within the lion pride. His best friend is Tawny, the alpha’s daughter, and he thinks her brother, Hart, hates him. But, nothing could have been further from the truth. Hart has always known that Dayton is his mate. Even when he is kicked out of the pride, Hart knows he will return for him. When Dayton is injured and has to go to the city, Tawny decides the time has come for her brother to claim her best friend. She thinks Hart is taking too long. He has a great career and a wonderful home and now just needs his mate and Dayton has everything he could want except a man to love.

I liked the characters in this story with Dayton and Hart making a great couple. They have difficulties as Dayton tries to accept that he is Hart’s mate. Especially after the way that Hart always treated him and then again, when he comes face to face with how the pride handles things. Hart’s predicament is one that makes you want to start slapping people. His mother shunned him and his father kicked him out at eighteen, banning him from contact with his sister or with anyone else in the pride. It makes you want to growl.

Although this story is quite good, there wasn’t much background or world building. Sometimes it felt like there should have been just a bit more detail. I would love to know where the hell that thing with Rick came from, that just blindsided me. Some of the secondary characters are wonderful like the boy band, who Drayton helps out, and Maxter J and his troubled times and I would love to see them in future books. Tawny is a great character, too. She is certainly sneaky, but only has the best of interests.

If you love shifters, finding your way relationships, hot sex, tension and conflict, great characters and an interesting storyline then give this story a shot.

Blurb: Blood runs soul-deep.

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. After being gravely injured when the High Moon Pack was attacked, Cormac has been unable to slake his thirst. Terrified that he will be a danger to his family, he has been avoiding them until pack beta, Liam comes searching for him. Liam’s offer to feed him to take the edge off his hunger works, but both men are drawn to each other for more than just convenience. Simon and Gray are facing a foe that is powerful. Trying to find a solution to their problems is hard when they have the Council of Weres breathing down their necks and they have to turn to the disbelieving Council of Mages for aid.

Soul Magic is the final installment of the Triad series. weaving together all the tendrils from the previous books to bring us a final showdown that is brilliant. Cormac is struggling to keep a leash on his blood lust, when Liam insists on feeding him so he can help the pack. it is an experience for both of them. Cormac and Liam become close and start to develop a relationship as they wade through the problems that someone from Cormac’s past throws at them. We see a great amount of Gray and Simon as their strong relationship is tested and they support each other through the trials they face, as they pull together their pack, family and the Mage and Were Councils.

I loved the way this story didn’t miss anything from the previous books. everything that we have learned in the past comes to fruition in an amazing confrontation between a true triad and a poor imitation triad. The storyline has stayed strong throughout the series. Each relationship has been brilliant and Cormack’s and Liam’s is no different. they are really hot together and burn up the pages. Although I adored the story I just wish we could have seen more of Cormac and Liam and their relationship developing. Instead, we got scenes of them together, but Simon dominated more of the storyline, so I felt that Cormac and Liam got cheated.

I will recommend this story to those who love paranormal, fantasy, mages, vampires, shifters, a complex storyline coming to fruition, loving characters, danger, loss, finding love and a very happy fantastic ending.

Review: A double feature from two of our favorite authors and the book cover sets the scene for the perfect paranormal evening in.

Diagnosis: Wolf by Poppy Dennison

Andrew has been left destitute by his brother’s pilfering ways.  He is now scrambling for a job and has to take what is offered to him and a difficult patient is the least of his worries. Facing two growling bodyguards down isn’t a problem, but the lack of medical records is.  How is he supposed to help his patient, if he doesn’t know the symptoms? Finding himself attracted to the patient, Caleb, feels awkward, but is determined to ignore it… until the patient responds to him. Discovering the cause of Caleb’s illness is worrying and Andrew begins to realize just how much trouble his brother has landed him in.

Ohhhh. Andrew has a hard time when his brother lands him in an untenable position and it becomes even harder when Andrew discovers the truth about Caleb.  Fixing Caleb’s illness turns out to be the easy part. I really enjoyed this story and the relationship between Andrew and Caleb was great. Although they turn out to be mates, they take their time before completing their bond. The story draws you in and holds you there, as it becomes laced with betrayal.  Andrew has a hard choice to make and Caleb and his father discover a backstabber in the family. A great little novella that is slightly different from the usual shifter stories.  a must read for shifter lovers, and those who love a great story of twists, betrayal and love.

Landslide by Mary Calmes

Frank has been a courier for paranormals for several years.  For the last three he has worked for Cael, an incubus demon. And he has rejected all the advances the demon has made, sure that he is just playing with him. When Frank’s sister lands herself in trouble by sleeping with a werewolf and then witnessing a body dump, he turns to Cael for help and ends up discovering that Cael is playing for keeps.

Frank has no confidence in his looks. He put on a lot of weight when he left the Marines and although he has lost a lot of it, he still feels like he has a long way to go. Cael is gorgeous and although he has nearly begged the man, Frank, the man who is his mate, just won’t come to him.  When Frank comes to him for help, he jumps at the chance to spend time with him. While solving the problems in Frank’s hometown, they both discover what the other really wants. I found both Frank and Cael to be brilliant characters and the story to be wonderful with all its paranormal aspects, Frank’s lack of self-image and Cael’s determination to get his man. This story is laced with interesting paranormal tidbits and has some interesting turns.  Cael is one scary demon when crossed and when Frank and Cael finally get it together they are fantastic. This is not a story to miss if you love paranormal, great characters, an interesting storyline and a very happy ending.

Blurb: A pack is only as strong as its weakest member. Rocky Harris knows how the system works. He’s been on the bottom rung his whole life. But when his alpha consigns him to the High Moon Pack to help them improve security, he finds his beliefs not just challenged but outright assaulted.

Cade Montgomery’s confidence took a hit when the pack’s cubs were kidnapped on his watch. He’s prepared to do anything to protect his family, even if it means working with Rocky. Maybe Cade doesn’t trust Rocky, but with the turmoil surrounding pack Alpha Gray’s unpopular decision to break tradition and mate with a mage named Simon, Cade knows more threats are coming.

Then someone declares war on shifters and puts the entire pack in danger. Cade and Rocky will need each other’s strengths to survive the impending battle—and the power of their growing attraction.

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. Cade is Alpha Gray’s best friend and he feels he could have done more when the cubs had been kidnapped and will do anything to ensure that his pack is safe. Even if it means working with Rocky, who he just can’t quite trust. Rocky is only with Gray’s pack to upgrade security, or so the pack thinks. His own Alpha wants to know all the packs secrets, but the longer that Rocky is with the pack the more he doubts his own Alpha. Gray and Simon are still trying to get answers and Simon’s twenty-fifth birthday is approaching fast and Cormac is preparing Simon to receive his full powers.

This is a brilliant continuation of the Triad series and drags us further into the wonderful world that Poppy Dennison has created for her paranormal creations. This book is focused on the continued storyline from Mind Magic of paranormal beings stealing magic and life-forces from other magical beings. it is focused on Gray and Simon’s pack and their controversial mating. Cade and Rocky both fight the attraction they have for each other for different reasons. Cade because he doesn’t trust Rocky although he can’t pin point the reason and Rocky because he knows that he will have to betray Gray’s pack.

This story is really well woven, bringing together all aspects of the plot and storyline so that you can follow it quite well. All the while feeding the need for a build up to an explosive ending that leaves more questions than answers and a great yearning for book 3. In this one we discover, with the appearance of a mountain lion cub called Riley, that there is something much more powerful than the demon and mage (from Mind Magic) sucking up life-force’s and magic of the paranormal world. We find out from Rocky, that his Alpha wants Gray’s pack and that there are problems facing them from the shifter council.

Although the blurb focused on Cade and Rocky and yes, they are a focal point to what is happening, this story also weaves in Simon and Gray’s still developing relationship. We get fully immersed in the story of these men’s lives and their relationships, with the developing feelings and also the confusion that one of them feels about all the new developments. We see how the pack pulls together in its time of need and how heroes can come from anywhere and be anyone, including an Omega who has been treated badly.

I am recommending this one to everyone who loves shifters, magic, vampires, children, mystery, danger, questions and an ending that while an happy for now, is left wide open for the next installment and hopefully a very happy ending.

Unfortunately for the alpha, he needs Simon’s help to track down the demon behind the kidnappings—before it strikes again. Simon and Gray must join forces to protect the pack, even as they struggle to resist the temptation that threatens to destroy them both.

Review: Simon breaks the rules when he saves some werewolf cubs from a demon and two humans. He becomes further involved when their alpha (Gray) asks for his help and lands in further trouble when he saves Garon’s (Gray’s son’s) life. Gray needs all the help that he can get when it comes to Others, because they don’t mix he has no clue how to deal with the problem of the demon. With the help of Simon, they just might get to the truth.

This is an extremely well written fantasy that grips you from the start. Simon breaks the Mage’s rules when he goes to the rescue of some werewolf cubs. Even knowing that he will be punished doesn’t stop him from helping them… and then he has to face their Alpha who he feels an instant attraction to. But, the troubles that he faces just keep coming as he has to face his Master and then coming to Garon’s rescue again, all while feeling ill from a magical attack. Gray also feels the attraction, but his concern is for his pack and the demon who took the cubs. As they work together to get to the bottom of the problem, secrets emerge from Simon’s family history.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and found the characters to be enchanting, the storyline incredible and the plot great. Poppy Dennison has wrote an fantastic piece of work that draws you in from the beginning and doesn’t let you go as you discover the well woven plot and the intrigue and secrets and deceptions of this fantasy world. I loved the way that the supernatural circles were set up; each species keeps to themselves and has no interaction with the Others, instant distrust towards Others and it is filled with a world of possibilities. In this story, we have werewolves, mages, a demon and a vampire, the background building is brilliant and we get an idea of the everyday workings of werewolves and mages.

The characters in this book were great and I especially loved the cubs, Garon and Emily, and their personalities. The adults were good as well, with Simon and Gray being a good match, but the one who intrigued me the most was Cormac and I would love to learn more about him (hint). There are some really hot scenes between Simon and Gray. I loved the way that they worked together and just seemed to fit so well together. The way that the pack was described as a huge family and the interactions between them warmed the heart, but the way that the mages worked left me feeling sorry for the loneliness that they most all feel.

With this one, I am going to recommend it to everyone who loves fantasy, shifters, mages, vampires, demons, unexpected danger, intrigue, hot sex and a fantastic storyline… I advise everyone to give this a go because I really don’t think that you will be disappointed if you give this one a shot.
