Blurb: Levi Ramone entered the gay porn market for one reason, and one reason only: he needed the cash to pay his momma’s spiraling gambling debts. Seven years later, he’s a veteran with a reputation as one of Blue Boy Studio’s most ruthless tops, and when his boss suggests it’s time for a change, he finds himself staring down the barrel of a gun. Figuratively speaking, at least.

Enter Sonny Valentine, a go-go dancer at Blue’s sister club, Silver’s. Levi has secretly admired Sonny from afar for years, but there’s a problem. He can’t stand Sonny and the feeling is entirely mutual. When Levi learns Sonny is to play the third part in a scene he already considers his worst nightmare, he figures things can’t get any worse.

But when preparations for the scene from hell collide with tragic events in his personal life, he finds his fast-growing, red-hot attraction to Sonny just might be the only thing left between him and a bullet.

Review: There are many who believe that those in the porn industry are inherently broken people.  This remains a hotly debated topic. This book focuses on a broken man, Eli, who’s found himself in porn as a way to make money.  The most connecting human experience is for him often devoid of emotion.  Levi literally detaches himself from his sexual experiences as a porn star and doesn’t seem to enjoy the experience much. For him the sex trade is really a means to an end. A financial end. He has learned to straddle the world of his life and being a porn star.

Sonny enters the story to help give Levi a conscience and to allow him to heal from his brokenness. Every single one of their encounters moves Levi from his current place to a place where he can begin to begin to live rather than just exist. The story focuses on Sonny helping Levi prepare for what is to become the most challenging experience of his porn career. Sonny is Levi’s catalyst for change.  However, while Levi must manage this professional challenge, his personal life and demons are also causing him angst. The collision of these two realities creates the crisis in the story, which both Levi and Sonny must overcome.

The story is about the porn industry so there are a number of very racy and explicit scenes if the reader is looking for heat. However, the scenes between Levi and Sonny are transported to being more because sex between these characters is more about them needing a human connection even in the midst of their sex trade. The overriding theme, however, is about delving into Levi’s psyche and how Sonny can help him achieve a sadly lacking balance. Sonny’s presence and his growing connection to Levi is what will allow Levi to dodge the bullet so to speak. This is not your typical love story, but then set in the porn industry – how could it be?

Blurb: Since childhood, Tom Alan Baranowski has concentrated on one goal: the Sochi Olympics. Review: Tom Alan is an up and coming Olympic hopeful. In Japan, he and his partner are big stars and well-loved. They have big shoes to fill following in their parents/ coaches footsteps. Tom Alan has a rough past. He was abused and his partner Erika’s father, rescued him, raised him trained him not only to be a good skater but to be head of their family since he had no  biological son and in Japan  a man is head of house. Tom Alan and Erika basically have a prearranged marriage and love each other but there is one little issue… Tom Alan is Gay.

Erika gets hurt and Tom Alan goes to America to train and meets Milo. Milo had a small appearance in the first book Double flip. Ben and Kat also become friends with Tom Alan also from Double flips.

I really thought this was a good story. It started out fabulous. I loved how Ben, Kat and a mention of Adam and Rich form the first book were worked in and we got more on Ben and some closure on his story.  Milo’s character was so much fun. I loved him though he was painted as a playboy and noncommittal in relationships. Tom Alan is the opposite; Sweet, quiet, loyal, loving and conflicted.

The problem I had is the story became very complicated and focused mainly on Tom Alan and his struggles… That was ok. I just felt the characters got a bit reversed.  When things started unfolding, the story really got twisty. This is a good thing. It’s definitely not run of the mill or easy to figure out. I really got disappointed in the characters though.  I also felt Milo was played down too much and the romance between Tom Alan and Milo fell short and flat on the ice (pun intended). I am a skate fan so I loved the skating, the descriptions, and the drama. I just expected more in the romance between Tom Alan and Milo and much more from Milo than we got.   I also was a bit floored with the ending but at least I know there is more to come.

So if you like ice-skating, Olympics, Japanese culture, anime, romance between both mm and m/f struggles, abusive pasts and overcoming them, and cliffhangers, this is for you.

Review: Gaius Priscus is a warrior and Salicar is a healer that lives in a town that rebelled. Gaius took Salicar as a captive even though he wasn’t really fit enough for a field worker to sell as a slave. He mainly took him to pleasure him on the trek to camp.

The story and description were good and interesting.  It’s such a short story, I can’t say much without spoilers the only real problem I had was I was into the story, reading away and all of a sudden it was done. No warning, no closure, no coming soon or to be continued.  BAM! Just nothing. I was very disappointed. I do hope there is more to come.

I recommend this if you like short stories, flash fiction, Roman set stories, slaves, and some hot mansex.

Blurb:Punishing himself for a horrific past that is not his fault, bestselling author Alexander Montgomery seeks redemption and love—and perhaps he will find it.

Famous author though he may be, Alexander Montgomery is not someone you take home to meet Mother. Seriously flawed, damaged by a horrific past, he’s trying hard to claw his way back to normality. But how can anyone respect what he truly is? His therapy involves regular sessions at Study in Scarlet, an exclusive S&M club.

Then comes Sage. Tall, with black hair and blue eyes, an up-and-coming actor with impossible charm and boy-next-door good looks, he’s the perfect choice to play the leading man in a TV adaptation of Alex’s last best-seller. Even more, he is a man you introduce to your family. Which Alex would do—if he weren’t taken by another man who offers the punishments Alex prays will wipe away the past and make him the person he wants to be. Yet, perhaps there is another path to redemption. If only the solution would reach out and touch him

Review: Warning: this book contains explicit scenes of S&M used as therapy

Alexander is an up and coming author with a haunting past. He sees Eric at Study of Scarlet an S&M club to punish himself for his past as part of his therapy. He wrote his books with an actor in mind as his inspiration for his main Character so he jumped at the chance to meet Sage in person and have him play the lead in the series being developed from his books.

All in all this is a beautifully written book full of the struggles of love and life.

I have to say I totally loved this book. Before I go into why I will say that there was lots going on, lots hinted at and some of the stuff thrown out there left me with a couple unanswered questions or was solved a bit lightly. I can’t say any more on this without giving away the plot.

Having said this I will also say I still think this is one of my favourite books. I loved Alexander through all his flaws he was amazing. He isn’t a bad man he is a broken man. He tortures himself mentally and physically for his past.

Sage on the other hand is the perfect hot hero. Some people reading this may think he is too good and he would never accept Alex’s situation (seeing the S&M man).I disagree. Perhaps in reality it would have been even harder than in this fiction book but I think it was handled well here. The conflict was shown, the jealousy and pain was shown. This is one of those stories of love being difficult. But life is difficult. There are things in each of ours past that our lover must abide.

The struggles of this romance were great and I thought the mystery was good and very twisty. There also is a lot going on in this story besides the turmoil of the relationship. I would have liked a bit more of Sage.

I highly recommend this book if you like lots of angst, broken men, actors, authors, mystery S&M, and lots of very hot mansex.

Review:  Short, Sexy and Steamy! My three favorite colors!!

Justin is in love with his business partner, Elliot. He refuses to act on his feelings though. He has a strict rule to never mix business with pleasure, or date immortals. Elliot is an incubus, a sex demon, who is also in love with Justin. In an attempt to quench his thirst for companionship, Justin takes the night off and heads to a club that will ‘cater’ to his needs. Elliot finds out where Justin is going and follows, determined to claim what he thinks should be his. Will Justin cave when he finds out the feelings are mutual? Or will he hold strong to his ‘rules’.

This short was a fast, fun read with sex appeal and intrigue. Just a skoch of suspense thrown into the mix kicked the story up a notch. When Justin finally succumbs to Elliot’s advances, you will find yourself hoping and praying that Justin decides to stay and not chalk their adventures up to a one-night stand. I highly recommend grabbing a copy of this one.

This short is the latest installment in an ongoing series titled ‘Romance On the Go’ by Evernight publishing. I’ve read all the shorts in the series, and although they aren’t linked as in the same characters and continuations, they are all very good on their own. Blurb:   In a World where the Alpha are the law, Beta the order, and Omega the knowledge…the Delta have become the oppressed.

The night of Samhain is fast approaching, and for that one night a year, Gray and the last remaining Dire Wolves—amongst others—are entrusted with the protection of the veil between worlds, while it’s at its thinnest. Add in the threat of a new drug on the market, and they’ll have to work twice as hard to keep everyone safe. The last thing he needs is a sexy little Delta to save.

As a lowly Delta, Red Wolf shifter Ryan has never known peace. Cast away and unwanted, he is quickly taken captive and trained as a dancer at The Howling, a strip club in the worst part of Praeter. Hungry, abused, and kept in a drug-induced fog, his life is nothing. He is nothing but the orders and twisted demands of his captor. All that changes when he catches the scent of a wolf in the crowd.

Long ebony hair, eyes that can’t decide if they’re green or blue as they follow him on stage. Unable to stop himself, Ryan does the one thing guaranteed to earn him punishment. He touches the other wolf. Peace. For those few brief moments, the hunger, the pain, the torment…all gone. The price to feel that respite again, though, could very well be his life.

Review:  Gray is a Dire wolf shifter and the Alpha of his group of wolves that protect the veil between our world and someplace dark and sinister. On the eve of Samhain, when the veil is most vulnerable, Gray stumbles on his mate in a sleazy strip club, The Howling. His attempt to focus on the task at hand, saving the world from pure evil, is muddled with his need to protect his mate.

Ryan is a Delta in a world where Alpha, Omega, and Beta are the top of the food chain. Delta’s are discarded, unwanted, and abused. But not this Delta, not anymore! Gray and his pack mate Law (short for Lawson) have found their mates in Ryan and one of his fellow Delta’s being held captive at The Howling. When Gray is captured and tortured by the sick son of a bitch that holds the Delta’s captive, Ryan’s instinct to protect HIS mate kicks in. Can Gray, Ryan, and Law escape The Howling? More importantly, how can they protect the veil when they are prisoners?

I loved the concept of this book, the characters, and the storyline especially that little twist with the threesome. The end felt rushed though. All loose ends were tied up, but I almost felt short-changed with the ending. That being said, this was still a fun read. Fast paced, action packed and sexy.

Review:  Paul’s life has been anything but a fairy tale. Mistreated, abused and abandoned by his family for being gay; Paul continually makes the wrong choices in his life. He’s had his moments though. Like when he pulled a young injured surfer out of the water and saved his life. Circumstance and another bad decision will change his life forever this time. The question is, will it be a change for the better? … Or worse!

Sam lost his twin brother Tim to a random act of violence. He almost lost his cousin to a random accident, but the quick thinking of a certain young man saved his cousins life. Sam has idolized that hero in his mind ever since. So when his father brings home a drifter that is down on his luck Sam is overjoyed to come face to face with his hero, Paul. Sam and his family are genuine, down to earth, good Samaritans. So when they make Paul an offer, to become part of their family and become Sam’s life partner, Paul has his reservations. The mutual attraction and animal magnetism that he shares with Sam help him make the right decision.

As the story unfolds, we meet Sam’s cousin and Paul develops an interesting connection with Tim, Sam’s dead twin. In a unique twist, we learn that these random coincidences that occur throughout the story may not be so random after all. They are all, in fact, linked.

There was so much potential in this book that when I finished, I was aggravated that it was never fully recognized. It read like a rough draft for a high school English paper. The storyline of twists and turns and everything converging in the end was so intriguing, that is what kept me reading. At times the dialogue of various characters ran together, this confused me and I had to go back to be sure I was hearing the correct character. The base of the plot, a down on his luck drifter who is completely alone with no family gets the family of his dreams and finds the love of his life, was endearing. The execution, however, did not translate that well in print.

If you can get past the mediocre writing and see just the meat of the story, this might be an enjoyable read for you. I’m giving this one a 2.5 because I’m torn. While the writing wasn’t up to par, the storyline itself was engaging. Hell, that cover alone is worth grabbing a copy just so you can stare at it, pet it!

Blurb:   Nine and a half weeks ago, Joe Massone got the surprise of his life when his straight best friend and secret crush, Adam, kissed him. At the time, Adam was recovering from an accident that left him with temporary amnesia and broken ribs, so Joe isn’t sure if he should take it seriously. Is Adam really gay? Or was the blow to his head to blame? Having secretly loved Adam since they were teenagers, Joe doesn’t want to get his hopes up and have his heart-broken.

Despite that first kiss, Joe and Adam are still in limbo—now more than friends, but not quite lovers. Adam’s injuries have meant they can’t take their relationship to the next level, and for Joe, not much has changed from when they were just best friends and roommates. He starts to think neither of them is ready to take that final step.

Patience stretched to the limit, Adam makes plans to break the stalemate. But when Joe sabotages things by inviting their friends along, Adam is left to wonder if their new relationship is over before it’s even started. Before he gives up, though, he’s determined to prove to Joe he wants more than just a kiss.

Review:  This story picks up 9 weeks after Inseparable left off. Joe and Adam are moving forward excruciatingly slowly. They’ve turned kissing and heavy petting into an art form, but Joe always pulls the plug before they get to the next level. Adam is getting frustrated and beginning to think the worst. When Adam goes out of his way to set up a sexy evening for the two of them alone, determined to get laid, Joe unknowingly screws it all up by inviting their friends over for beer and pizza. These two seriously need to get on the same page!

Joe has loved Adam for so long, he’s terrified that Adam will wake up and change his mind, decide he isn’t really gay and break Joe’s heart. If Joe takes that next step and they have sex, only for Adam to realize it’s not what he wants, Joe doesn’t think he’d survive that. So he only gives so much before he pulls back and puts the brakes on.

It took Adam more time to discover he was in love with his best friend. He went with the flow through high school and college and dated girls, because it was the way he was supposed to do things. Now that he’s gotten a taste of Joe and done some serious inner inventory, he knows exactly what and who he wants. He is not going to let Joe pull away, and he pulls out all the stops in a last-ditch attempt to seduce his best friend/lover/roommate.

The best friends turned lovers storyline has been stretched to the limits as of late. But Scully has revived it, breathed new life into it with the story of Joe and Adam! It’s not just the story of them. It’s the story of their past and uncertain future woven into the love they share that makes this story so different. Flashbacks give the reader more in-depth knowledge of the many years they’ve shared as friends. An upset Adam crawling into Joe’s bedroom window, comforted by his best friend. An unsure Joe sharing the secret of his sexuality with Adam, fearing that rejection. Adam’s moms death and subsequent abandonment by his father, only to be taken in by Joe’s family, of course! And that fateful night, the night of the accident that set the events in motion that would bring these two together, forever.

This is a must read for my fellow hopeless romantics! A story full of meat and some sexy make out sessions. Strong secondary characters set the pace as Joe and Adam come to realize they are soul mates.

This is the second book in a series that must be read in order to fully appreciate the characters.

Review: WoW.  It’s amazing exactly how much heat can be packed into 38 pages!  The story is very short and actually has two plotlines. The first story is about Bartholome and Rene and Rene accepting that he and Bartholome are meant to be together.  There are some small insecurities to overcome for said acceptance to occur. Once that acceptance happens, the second story begins which is about Bartholome’s best friend and what (no the what is not in error) appears might be his mate as well.  The author is clearly setting the reader up for the next story that will follow this one.

At first, I thought that this as a light BDSM sex romp type of book and then I realized that the author had snuck in a theme of belonging and creating your own family that you are comfortable with.  Not only do Bartholome and Rene find each other and begin their HEA, but also his BFF is apparently well on his way to doing the same.  The four will create their own pack and begin a new reality.  So there’s lots of steam as we have come to expect from a paranormal romance and a solid literary theme thrown in for good measure.

Review: Unexpected rescue is a good read on two levels. It offers the reader a bit of an action adventure with a two strong romantic leads. Jackson is a man on the edge, barely holding on to his sanity with an equally tenuous hold on reality. Addy, the man rescued from the boat by Jackson is Jackson’s unexpected rescue; but it is Addy’s emotional rescue of Jackson that is the true unexpected rescue and what provides this story with its heart and its core.

The secondary character of Jackson’s bff is wonderfully scripted and it is his love and unconditional acceptance of and for Jackson that will help to propel Jackson to finding the parts of himself he believes he’s lost and to begin to build a new life with a new reality.

There are some books you read where the sex is gratuitous. The general premise is that since it’s a love story with two hot men, the two hot men have to have sex. Then you have the other books and sex scenes where the sex/love scene is as essential to the book as air is to breathing.  It’s the scenes where the sex isn’t really about sex. Instead the sex is about loving and healing and making the character realize that there is life out there, if they are but willing to grasp it. When the sex scene does appear in the story, the reader has been craving it, but more importantly, the reader recognizes its necessity to the story.

A wonderfully compelling read.

Review: Liam was unwillingly brought to ‘The Colony’ with his now best friend Riley eight years ago. Now stuck underground his only hope of a way out is if Riley wakes up from his five-year coma, but although he clings to his hopes of returning to the ‘Outside’ he has the opportunity to improve his lot by joining the Elete soldiers. Can he give up his dreams of returning home or should he throw the security away on the small hope that there really is a way out?

This story has a very dystopian feel to it, leaving you feeling like we are reading about an all-new world or about survival after an apocalypse, but it isn’t, it is a secret land that is whispered about in legends… Atlantis, Shangri la or Avalon but it is far from the paradise that we dream about. Liam and Riley were dragged to ‘The Colony’ against their will, they were forgotten about then left to fend for themselves, now several years later Liam looks after Riley as best he can, but Liam’s habit of gambling against the odds always backfires. When Riley wakes up from his five years coma unable to remember much of anything, Liam’s hopes of a way out begins to fade and he becomes desperate.

This is a great story that is very involved and has many mystery connections, there are many interesting aspects that we discover the longer we read, and the characters are interesting and varied. Liam is a dreamer, he dreams of returning to New York and his life and refuses to accept the life he now has, he has the opportunity of a lifetime but his dreams are too much to let go of. Riley is messed up he can’t remember much and Liam is nothing like the Liam he remembers, as time progresses he himself begins to change and there is a huge mystery surrounding him.

Although this is a great story, I did wish there was some explanation to explain ‘The Colony’ rather than the clues that were dropped throughout the book. I found myself struggling with the setting until I figured out they were on Earth but in a secret underground world, with very rare people. This is a brilliant storyline that you will leave you both frustrated and desperate for more, you will love and hate the characters as we follow them through the difficulties they face and the difficulties they bring on themselves. We see many story threads that are just at the beginning but we do get a sweet though awkward relationship between Liam and Riley.

I recommend this story if you love science fiction and legends merging, fighting for your freedom against the odds, and finally accepting your place in the world, an honest sweet love, and a twisty ending that raises the eyebrows in surprise.

Blurb: Riley Cooper is on the run. Misha Tokarev, the love of his life, turned out to be an assassin for the Russian mob, and when it comes to character flaws, Riley draws the line at premeditated murder. Alien armor system McClane is also on the run, for reasons that include accidentally crashing a space ship into Earth and evading U.S. military custody. A failed prototype, McClane was scheduled for destruction. Sabotaging the ship put an end to that, but McClane is dubbed a bone rider for good reason—he can’t live without a host body. That’s why he first stows away in Riley’s truck and then in Riley himself. Their reluctant partnership soon evolves into something much more powerful—and personal—than either of them could have imagined.

Together, they embark on a road trip from hell, made all the more exciting by the government troops and mob enforcers hot on their trail. Misha is determined to win Riley back and willing to do whatever it takes to keep him safe. When hitman and alien join forces, they discover their impressive combined potential for death and destruction. It will take everything Riley has to steer them through the mess they create.

Review: Well this story was an absolute pleasure to read. A sexy cowboy, a deadly Russian assassin and a sentient alien armor and weapons system take us on an exciting adventure with explosions, gunfights, and desperate escapes that keep you gripped to the story. When McClane accidentally causes the spaceship he is on to crash, he needs to find a host body to survive and who could be better than cowboy Riley, who just happens to be on the run from his ex-boyfriend Misha, a Russian mob enforcer. While Riley is on the run hiding from Misha, McClane is running from the US Government’s military and while Riley and McClane come to an understanding, Misha and the military are hot on their heels. Misha just wants his man back, yes he hid a part of himself but his feelings for Riley were genuine, now if he can just find his sexy cowboy he can convince him of how he feels.

Ah, I have to say that I loved every page of this story. It had my attention from the first page and held on with a death grip until the last page. This story gave me danger and excitement that just kept coming and coming, it gave me a wonderful love story that didn’t follow an easy path, and it gave me brilliant characters who wormed their way into my heart like McClane wormed his way into Riley’s. I really don’t know where to begin because there were that many aspects that I loved, should I start with the characters McClane (can I call him a character…. or a symbiotic alien metallic entity?), Riley and Misha and how each of them are completely different but fit perfectly together? Or the brilliant military campaign to find the missing alien, after they screwed up first contact? Or the relationship that broke under the strain of the truth, but the love that still holds strong? Or the strange relationship that develops between alien and cowboy? There’s just so much to choose from and I haven’t even taken into account the Russian mob or the survivalists!

McClane is a unique being that is remarkably alive, he is wrote in such a way that he becomes a unique individual with his own characteristics including both sarcasm and humor. And even though the only time we get a glimpse of McClane is from within Riley, you clearly see him as a character in his own right. Misha is a great assassin and he will do anything to get Riley back in his life, he adores Riley and it shows through in his actions. Riley is just an honest man and when confronted with the truth of Misha’s life he ran, but that doesn’t make his feelings go away. Together McClane, Riley and Misha have to face down adversaries and make sacrifices if they are to come out alive.

While this story is mainly from Riley’s, Misha’s and McClane’s point of view we are also treated to the points of view of the military officers, and one of Misha’s friends, we get a clear view of the overall story so we are never left guessing, although you still get a few surprises along the way. The action and adventure were just perfect, while over the top a little it still managed to fit perfectly with what you would imagine if this were an action movie. *sigh* this would be so cool on the big screen. We also get some very hot sexing with McClane being a very active participant, Misha, and Riley both being very open-minded.

I have to recommend this to those who love science fiction, alien hunting military, an assassin looking for his lover, a cowboy being in the wrong place at the right time and an alien entity that just wants to survive…. oh and if you like Die Hard type of action and an impressive final confrontation.

Review: This is one of the most heartwarming stories I have had the pleasure of reading. It has everything you would want in a story: love, hatred, pain, fear, heartache, passion, and tenderness. Troy’s pain in the past has led him to his future. Trying to end his life, found his beginning to happiness. Renart has in the past, turned his followers but never taking full control over their care. He did however feel passionately for one of his turnings, Troy. The plot of this story is exceptional. You are given an uprising by some young vampire who just wanted control over others and one who was evil. The evil being killed by his best friend.

This has a story line and plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat every time you read it. It was well told and delivered perfectly. Troy and Renart have so much passion towards each other as well as anger at first. The pain they both felt can actually be felt by the reader. It makes you want to cry and pull each one to you. However, the love the fee for each other when confusions are cleared makes you just smile and laugh. They are in so much danger, but there is so many who stand up for them and beside them. The romance is there in the way for each other, the way each man lights up when the other is in the room and the way they are willing to give their lives up to save the other.

There isn’t a lot of sex in this story, but what is there is very hot and makes the windows in the room steam up. You can tell just by reading it that there are so many feelings that you stand on the side cheering them both on to get their rewards. This story is very tender but also kind of series. It would be one that you would read one evening with the music turned on lying on your bed. I am glad to have it in my library and will look forward to reading it over and over again.

Review:  Short, Sexy and Steamy. My three favorite colors!

Victor Summers is starting his new job at the prestigious Ragingwood Manor as companion to the elder Ragingwood’s son, David. He’s surprised when he arrives to find he will be treated like a member of the family instead of a mere servant or companion. His first night at the manor there is a violent storm and he awakes to find someone in his bed. A heated night of passion with someone just a little more hairy than normal leaves Victor sated, happy and confused. He sets out to figure out who shared his bed and pleasured him last night.

This was just a cute story with a paranormal edge. There is a lot of content for just a few pages. I’d like to see more of the characters in this short. You learn that Victor is an orphan, but I’d like more on that story. You learn that the Ragingwood’s have a secret, but I’d like more on that story as well. Regardless, this was a very sexy little short, I highly recommend!

Review:   Templeton is a skunk shifter and works at Office for Transmogrification Registration (OTTER) as a desk jockey, checking registration papers. Mikel and the Erie pack work there as trackers. After an attempt on Templeton’s life, Mikel seems to appoint himself as Templeton’s protector.

This is a very fun, humorous and hot story with a bit of mystery and intrigue thrown in for good measure. I loved the playful banter between Templeton and the other characters. I laughed my butt of at the funny interjections and clichés of Templeton’s though and telling of the story.  There was a lot going on and several twists and turns. I have to say the mystery did throw me of and I am pretty good at figuring them out pretty early.  You just can’t help to laugh at the way he jokes about his scent and stuff. I was skeptical at first about a skunk shifter but it really worked.

If you’re looking for a different take on  the paranormal, a slightly new world, lots of humor and some  pretty hot, sensual ,mansex  and just a good, sweet, funny, romantic mystery; I recommend this one.

Review:  Imagine standing at the altar, awaiting the arrival of the man you’ve chosen to spend the rest of your life with. Minutes turn to hours and you still stand there alone. Roman Capanelli is heartbroken thinking his fiancé has left him jilted, only to learn that Malik has in fact been kidnapped.

Malik awakes in a cold, dark room, dreaming of Roman only to discover he is truly alone. As the minutes tick by Malik finds comfort and solace in his memories of Roman and plots his escape. As Malik suffers in a cold cellblock of a room, Roman suffers as well, tormented trying to figure out who took his lover, and why. When Malik escapes they think the worst of it is behind them. Until an explosion rocks their world and proves that this is far from over.

Malik has a very dark past, one he’s worked hard to distance himself from. If you can’t trust your family, who can you trust? Gray has gone completely outside of anything he’s ever written, even this books predecessor, and amazed me with his skills at mystery. I actually had to read this book twice. I zipped through it the first time at warp speed to find out first, where was Malik? And then, who did this?! I absolutely loved the relationship that played out between the two ML. Roman is very unsure of where he stands at the start, but as the story progresses he becomes the rock in their relationship providing that steady ground Malik needs to get through this ordeal.

I can’t say enough about Gray’s writing prowess. As an author of m/m fiction I fully admit I’m lacking certain plumbing and knowledge to fully embrace the genre. Gray, however, is not. I think that he brings a little piece of himself into each and every one of his books. The love, passion, sacrifices and uncertainty of these men is evident on each and every page. Just that little something that reels you in and puts you in the mindset of that particular character. It’s magical.

I think it goes without saying that I recommend this book. It is strong as a standalone read, but why not read the first book in this series first, Stranded. Strong gay fictional love stories written by a strong gay man, that is any Andrew Gray book you pick up.

Review: This is a variation on the office romance. Phillip is the boss and Taylor is the junior employee.  They are working together to locate the embezzler in the office and along the line they become involved in a pseudo relationship. Both understand the office politics of them being in a relationship and so there’s that issue for them to contend with. Then throw in some personal issues which Taylor has that complicate his life, and you have the makings of a very complicated coupling.

There is a realism to the story as the reader gets to see both Phillip and Taylor struggle with their personal issues and crossing the boundaries by being involved in an office fling. This is Taylor’s story so his motivation and issues are fairly well-defined.  Phillip by contrast seems very normal when viewed through Taylor’s lens. However, the story is about Taylor’s struggle and arc and his coming to grips with his issues of control and trust, Phillip serves as a catalyst to get Taylor to move forward in his life.

The story is well written and believable. There is a clear, well-defined story line and the characters are believable in their roles. The men have an amazing physical connection so there’s enough sizzle and heat for the reader to enjoy as well. All in all a pleasant read.

Review:  I loved this book!! My three favorite genres are dystopian, m/m and zombie… so when I can get any combination of the three I am usually in heaven. Add to that the expert narration of Paul Morey and this book was pure bliss. Seriously, the guy could read the phone book and make my toes curl!

A century from now the continent is divided into two parties. The Confederated Red States which is run by a strict protocol, a military state if you will, where being gay or lesbian will get you killed, if the vigorous reconditioning camp they assign you to doesn’t make you straight. And the Blue States where you are still allowed the freedom to be yourself, to be who you are. Matt Tennimore and his family are blue’s and their job is to rescue gays and lesbians from CRS and give them asylum. Matt’s latest mission is a CRS agent gone rogue, James Ayala, who also happens to be his high school crush.

The story follows Matt and James and their cross-country escapades trying to reach the safety of the Blue States. It takes a little time before James becomes comfortable enough with Matt to tell him about the implant. As they dodge CRS soldiers in a fight for their lives, they quickly learn that old feelings long ago buried are resurfacing with a vengeance. James psychic abilities are morphing along the way as well, he goes from being able to sense Matt’s feelings to hearing his thoughts and eventually, feeling what he feels as well.

When Matt is seriously injured, they find sanctuary in a convent that is run by two lesbian nuns, and then the secret of their sexuality is discovered by a horny straight nun. Her interests are more in watching than exposing though. Once Matt is healed they continue their journey for safety within the blues with said horny nun and a talking horse in tow. Did I forget to mention that during their journey they happened upon a horse that James can communicate with telepathically?

This book was the perfect balance of seriousness and comedy. They are, in fact, on the run with the threat of death if found because they are gay. But Tenino mixed in enough comic relief to balance the story out perfectly. Whether it was Miz Horse who would huff and puff if she didn’t like what James or Matt told her to do. Or the horny nun that was bound and determined to turn the gay boys straight, at the expense of her virginity gladly. Or James himself with the faces he would make and his extremely overprotective nature when it came to Matt’s safety.

Narrated by the god of narration, Paul Morey, this book kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The nine hours listening blew by, I was so sad when I came to the end. I didn’t want it to end! Morey can read the lusty, passionate scenes like a top-notch high dollar porn star. And I assure you, there were plenty of said scenes between James and Matt.

This is a must read for fans of dystopian, m/m, strong overbearing alpha males and sci-fi nuts!

Blurb: There’s something different about Noah….

Zack Parker met his best friend Noah at his lake cabin when they were only five years old. He realized he felt more than friendship for him by the time they were in junior high school. One fateful night when they were eighteen Zack couldn’t take it anymore. Fueled by love and lust and need, he finally kissed Noah like he’d wanted to for years…and Noah kissed him back, returning every drop of Zack’s passion.

The next morning, Noah ended their friendship for what Zack believed was forever.

Now twenty-one, Zack resents being dragged by his guilt-tripping mother every summer back to the lake cabin where every leaf and rock and turn in the road reminds him of Noah and the love he felt for him three long years before. He hates being reminded of what he lost and more than anything, he wants his best friend back.

But this year things are different.

Noah has returned, apologetic and more gorgeous than ever. Amazingly, he seems to want Zack as much as Zack wants him. He’s sweet and attentive, sexy enough to make Zack’s thighs quiver, but there’s something not quite right…

What secret is Noah hiding?

Product Link: http://www.dreamspinnerpress.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=4289

Review: I found this story to be a wonderful addition to my library. It was told with just the right amount of flare. In a time where the paranormal world was feared by many of the humans, a hunter and a human meet as children. Zack had loved Noah from the moment they realized what love was like and Noah felt the same. Noah separated them because of the danger he represented as hunter, but one year has passed and he couldn’t stop loving Zach. Even with the original secret Noah is holding, Zach still loves him. The new secret, the real reason Noah didn’t search him out was a little bit harder to believe.

At first reading it though, my attention wavered just a bit, but the further I got into the story the better it go. I thought the plot and story line were pretty good, although it could have used a little bit more action and not so much explanation. I am just not sure how exactly to explain it. However, being the first book of a series it was pretty good. To understand how they knew each other and how they felt in the beginning makes for an interesting start.

I liked the characters Zach and Noah. The spark that is between them makes me want to fan myself from their first kiss a year ago; to the passion, they have now. Zach’s pain made me just want to smack Noah, but after Noah explained the reason for leaving I fell a little bit in love with Noah. The sex between them is very steamy but tender. Their love is sweet but a little sappy.

Even the dangers present have a little bit of a twist to it. There is some confusion close to the ending of it about the actual ages of the character and I am feeling that the ending left me hanging. Which actually is very intriguing (not the confusion of ages, but the ending) because now I want to read the next book to see what will happen next.

Review: What a strange world this one was. Werewolves exist and are hunted down. Not only that – that makes some sense – but also men are totally against nature. As if knowing nature, surviving in the wild is something, no one ought to do. Admittedly, I would love to read a longer story set in this world, there were questions that this idea drew out of me and now I’m enticed.

That said, in this story we have a rich Mr. Hudson who had lost his wife from “nature” and is now on a vengeance trip, throwing a campaign against werewolves and trying to enforce humans a silver solution for their waters. Yes, silver shall be the doom of those dreadful creatures.

Ralph is thankful his employer, Mr. Hudson, doesn’t know he has one such creature on his very own grounds. While Ralph only want to care for the perfectly manicured outdoors of Hudson mansion, he is constantly thrown into various scenes that won’t let him be in peace. There is Conan, the forester and college sweetheart, from outside the fence, there is Russell, the young Mr. Hudson, who is a tempting creature on his own, and there is of course his employer who is throwing said temptation on his hands for a bit of “nature training”. There is a big outdoors trip coming up after all.

But visiting Nature is not as simply as it once might have been if it ever was. Nowadays, especially on Halloween, drunk and armed people roam on their witch-hunt and they shot at everything that moves. Innocents die a fast death and one ought not to be out there on a full moon.

Creepy much? Well not so much, I would have been happier if this read could make me shake with dread since there was no lovemaking (how disappointing was that), but it was nearly there. The playful flirtation going between young Russell and Ralph was fun to read. You kept expecting for that something to happen, I did certainly expect the werewolf to throw the kid down and molest him a tiny bit. The chemistry was there though, the anticipation too. The feeling of that something about to happen never left you alone as Mr. Hudson was a threat to be considered. So when everything went down that anticipation was not for nothing as the end was a bit of a surprise. Or at least it surprised me, for some reason I didn’t saw it coming.

So if you’re searching for a Halloween story this might be one for you to read, I sure liked it.
