Review: Overall, this is a very good collection of shifter stories. There is a little something for everyone, serious, humorous, sweet and really hot. I recommend the anthology but I put my individual reviews and links below so you can pick and choose our favorites if you wish.

“Photorealism” by Julia Talbot, ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
July is on a photography journey to photograph Moose in the wild. A beautiful wolf that seems to be following him and perhaps even playing with him captivates him.

“Black, One Sugar” by Jae Christopher- ♥♥♥♥ 4 HeartsDavid and Aaron have just begun dating when David blurts out his secret.
I liked the concept that Lycanthropy was a disease. It was almost as if it’s similar to AIDS. I liked the way these two men discussed and dealt with the topic. I found it a very sexy interesting story.

“Night of the Jackal” by V.L. Locey ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
I thought this was a beautifully written story. Is a fabulous tale of survival and love. I also liked that it dealt with a different kind of shifter and established couples. I loved it. It’s sweet and sexy as well.

“Raising Cain” by Winnie Jerome ♥♥ 2 Hearts
This doesn’t happen to me often but I just didn’t get this story. It focused so much on the gaming that it felt the shifter part was just thrown in there. I felt it wasn’t very cohesive and I never really was unable to connect to either character. However, if you are a big gaming fan you may like this story a lot. It just wasn’t my cup of tea.

Mychael Black’s “Thrill of the Hunt,” ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
I loved this story. It’s rather dark but I loved the take on the finding of a mate, trusting the enemy type story. I found this story very intriguing. There is lots of action and some twists. A very compelling short story.

“Tea and Werewolves” by Cecil Wilde, ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
I thought this was a very cute, sweet story. It has a slightly different take on the pack hierarchy and being born or bitten. I would love to read a full story on these guys.

“Packbond”by M. Lee, ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
I loved this story. I liked that it was set with humans knowing about Werewolves. I loved the story line and all the characters. I had one issue and it was about the bond between Ethan and Alex. I would have loved more on what happens with Ethan and Alex after all the action that was seemed to be left out. I would live to see this in a full-length story. http://www.torquerebooks.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=79_93&products_id=4255

Nuts, Bolts, and Chihuahuas” by Tray Ellis♥♥♥♥ 4 HeartsI absolutely loved this story. I loved that this was an entirely different take on shifters. It is so cute and sweet and lots of fun. I would have liked to read more it seemed to end abruptly.

Blurb: For all the Courtland fans clamoring for the next generation…
Cold and sick, Seth Thompson must fight through a snowstorm to get home. Seth’s unconventional upbringing taught him to always reach out to strangers in need, and Iranian engineering student Bilal al-Mansoori is no exception. Being trapped together leads to an unexpected mutual attraction—and a feverishly hot night under the covers.

But Bilal needs more than simply a rescue from the weather—he’s trapped under lifetime of cultural pressures. His strict Muslim father and fellow Iranian students have no clue about his inner torment. His attraction to Seth isn’t a welcome discovery—instead he’s trapped between the existence he’s always known and the prospect of living and loving openly for the first time in his life.

Note: This story stands alone—no need to have read the prior Courtland books

Review: Seth Thompson lives an open and accepted lifestyle, completely opposite from the life Bilal is forced to lead. Seth was raised by a very unconventional family that is comprised by two dads and one mom, as a threesome. So to say Seth and his family are open-minded would likely be an understatement.

In contrast, Bilal was born and raised as a practicing Muslim. His family would disown him and his country would see him dead if they knew his secret. None the less, Seth reaches out and offers assistance to Bilal when he sees him first at the clinic, then at the pharmacy and finally stuck in the early falling snow at the bus stop.
Seth offers Bilal a warm place to stay and wait out the storm outside, not knowing about the storm raging inside the young man.

Soon enough the mutual attraction and being trapped inside due to the storm, in a small confined space, brings the feelings Bilal fights so hard to suppress to the surface. But once the storm clears and Bilal goes home, will he maintain the newfound friendship? Or go back to living a shadow of a life, being everything that is expected of him, and nothing that he wants to be.

Opposites attract is the heir apparent in this short story that is all about finding your way and being who you are. There was a decent amount of back-story for so few pages, and though brief, you do get a glimpse into the lives of each young man. I haven’t read the series this story stemmed from, but I still easily followed along and didn’t feel like I was missing anything. Not necessarily a HEA ending, more of a HFN, and the ending was a little abrupt.

Overall, a really good story that kept my attention throughout, I hope there is more to come for these two from Ms. Grant.

Blurb: Dragon warrior Clatcher Reyes is still getting used to his new relationship. The one where he is with two men. He loves Roman, the former leader of the dragon warriors, and Kendrick, the playful fox shifter, but Clatcher fears he is the third wheel, and his fears are becoming noticeable to the men he loves.

Kendrick Ainsely knew that Roman mated with the both of them, and then Kendrick found himself loving Clatcher as well. Now he needs to show Clatcher that he is an equal part of their relationship, and so important that if he were to leave, nothing would ever be the same.

Roman cannot stand the thought of being separated from either man. He dealt with that before, and it nearly destroyed him. When an old stalker returns to the castle, intent on taking Kendrick for himself, Clatcher and Roman will work together to find their mate, before they lose a key piece of themselves forever.

Review: This was an amazing story. Each book in Of Dragons And Wolves Series focuses on a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, we recommend reading the series in sequential order. It keeps me from getting a bit lost in the stories and gives me an insight in to their world. A world that captured my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end.

I love the way each character just mixes with the others. How fast they are to defend what is theirs and what they believe. Now what is better than two sexy shifters getting it on, well three sexy shifters that’s what. I love this trio and was glad to read more about them. They first appear in the very beginning and they have their own story in one of the previous books. You can tell that they had difficulties in the other book. Kendrick and Roman were in love, Clatcher and Roman were in love however it had left Clatcher and Kendrick trying to catch up with their feelings.

Clatcher was feeling like the odd ball out. He knew in the beginning that he loved Roman, but that Roman was in love with Kendrick. He had figured to leave it be. When Kendrick was killed he helped his best friend get revenge. They had went from friendship to lovers while searching for Kendrick’s killer. Then Kendrick came back as a fox shifter.

It tore Clatcher up to lose the man he loved, but he knew that Kendrick and Roman belonged together. Then to his surprise Kendrick had cornered him, asked his feelings, then suggested them becoming a threesome. They were mates after all. Now he was left with the feeling that he was not really wanted.

Kendrick could see what Clatcher was up to. He would not seek him out if Roman was not with him, would spend time with him unless they were altogether. He at first thought it was because Clatcher didn’t really want him, but then he knew it was because Clatcher did not know where he stood when it came to being with Kendrick. Clatcher thought Roman would be mad, now it was left up to his two mates to show him he was indeed desired.

The dangers coming for Kendrick was still out there and they were coming for him. I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. I love the way the dragons, wolves, the little fox shifter just seem to mingle together.

I would recommend reading this book especially if you love sexy men, hot shifters, ménages, passion and fire, smoking hot sex, excitement, angst and dangerous situations. It comes with all that and so much more. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end.

Blurb: Life is like high school.
For Grey Talbot teaching high school history was a choice. When a gorgeous blond punk of a kid walks into his class with attitude to spare, Grey fears his choice might just be his undoing.

High school kids kept getting younger and Paul Gaines stayed the same. Moving from one city narcotics unit to the next, his youthful looks and slender body made him a perfect undercover cop for the job.

Meeting the professor wasn’t part of the deal. The man was smart sexy and off-limits even if he was younger than Paul.

For Grey getting involved with one of his students, even if that student wore a badge meant playing with fire. Fire that could burn them both.

Review: When I first read the summary of this book, I was a little bit worried about the whole student/teacher concept. I’m not a huge fan of adults and underage kids in a romance book! But, we learn very early on in the book that Paul is not really a student but an undercover cop trying to bust a narcotics ring. Despite the big reveal to the professor, no one else can know so while there is the whole ‘forbidden’ relationship angst. It isn’t creepy for the reader to be reading about a student/teacher relationship.

I loved that the author gave Grey an outwardly prim and preppy attitude but a touch of bad boy underneath. I really think his character was perfect! Just enough concern for his students matched with a bit of attitude and a whole lot of sex appeal.

Paul is dedicated to his job as an undercover narcotics officer, although getting sick of playing the part of student because of his slim and youthful appearance. While he knows that falling for the professor is a no no, he just can’t seem to help himself!

There was a good balance in the book between Paul and Grey’s relationship and the investigation of the narcotics ring. I was definitely surprised at the outcome of the case but won’t go into details and spoil the story! I did think the end was a little bit rushed…I would have liked a bit more of a wrap up than we were given, although it ends with a HEA so I was happy.

The passion between these two characters is intense but the emotions are there, too. Nobody is jumping into bed right away and there was a nice buildup of both story and relationship before things get too serious.

I am always going to buy a Mercy Celeste book and definitely recommend this one as well. It is sweet and sexy with a great story line and wonderful attention to details. I loved it and will be reading it again…probably more than

Blurb: When vegan, peace-loving, social do-gooder Park Williams stumbles across the half-dead cattle rancher who has been sabotaging the Willow Springs Ranch in the name of a homophobic militia group…there’s only one thing to do. Save his life, then share his tent. Waking to find the man’s dick pressed against his ass is just a bonus.

Tanner Triplett is in trouble. Not the your-brother-is-a-sociopathic-murderer-and-you’re-his-next-victim sort of trouble. Not even the your-father-is-trying-to-overthrow-the-federal-government-and-you’re-going-to-jail-for-helping kind of trouble. No, this is the sort of trouble that comes when you wake up with stranger’s dick in your hand. Holy fuck. How is he going to get out of this?

A sudden need to run for their lives ought to do it.

Determined to make amends, Tanner leads Park to the relative safety of the WSR, where the biggest danger should be from gun-wielding cowboys seeking revenge. Tanner hadn’t counted on sharing a room with the exotically beautiful Park or the danger to his heart when the carefully erected walls protecting his secret come tumbling down.

Review: This is book 5 and I have to say the best yet. Where they ach do stand-alone well and there is sufficient backstory you can follow alone on this one I do recommend you read at least the last two Taking Chance and Hanging Chad or at least hanging Chad.

Park is a very unique man. He works for child abuse enforcement n Flagstaff and after his last case involving Chad Ollam, a gay teacher accused of abusing his students, Park has decided to retire and take a long needed vacation to find himself and what he wants to do with his life. He has two dogs Taco and Scooby and sets off to off grid camp farther south in Arizona near the Willow Springs Ranch. He stops to let the dogs out when Scooby stumbles across a man near dead.

Tanner Triplett has done some bad things. He has tried to be as little involved as possible in his father’s crazy schemes, but his brother has pushed until he feels hopeless. Left dying in the brush, he is surprised when a beautiful man and his dogs come across him and the man refuses to leave him, spouting stuff about fates, destiny and kismets and cartwheels. Tanner knows that Park will be in danger if he stays so he takes him to Willow Springs ranch knowing he will be sent to prison if they don’t kill him first.

This book is full of action from beginning to end. It pulls together a long ongoing mystery form the other books and introduces us to park and gives us more Tanner. I was also happy Ty, Cass and Chase all played more roles in this book too. I loved how Scooby and Taco and Park’s eccentricities lighten the angst, murder and mayhem of the plot. Park and Tanner’s story was worth the wait!

If you believe in destiny or fate, like ongoing westerns, ranchers, lawmen, cooks, Navy Seals, rodeo stars, mystery, suspense, dogs, vegans, hippies, and some hot mansex. This is definitely for you

Review: Twenty-five-year-old Jesse Coleman endures a heinous act on him. After the case is dropped, his mother, Claire, accedes to his request to move. Leaving behind his old life, he is left with a disturbing scar on his back. Hopelessness comes in on him and he takes off the bracelet that he has worn his whole life, which means something to him. Looking for a new beginning, Jesse who dresses differently meets Jaden who dresses like an outcast and the two fall in love with each other. With love from their mothers and good friend Liz, they try to bury their pasts behind them.

Jesse Coleman and his devoted mother have just uprooted their lives and moved to a new city, new house, a fresh start. Jesse was attacked on his way home from the store one night, left for dead, and then forced to face his attackers in court, only to have them get off scot-free due to lack of evidence. Jesse is withdrawn and depressed, so his mother acquiesces to his request to move, leaving behind her home, job, and friends for the sake of her son.

Their first day in their new home Jesse meets enigmatic Liz and another loner, Jared. They become fast friends, and soon Jesse and Jared confide in each other, grow quite close to one another. Both young men are scarred both physically and mentally. They seem to be perfect for each other, as they can understand each other like no one else can. Can their love for each other, the support, and love of their ever faithful mothers, and their best friend Liz help them come to terms with the violence that clouds their pasts?

This story had so much potential just from the cover and the synopsis. Rather immature writing, a host of errors and typos, and a confusing story line managed to ruin the overall experience in the end though. There were times when the author reversed the characters when writing, and the timetable or time frame didn’t add up with things said or described before or after a specific event.

I really, really wanted to like this story that was presented as a story about two young men that have been to hell and back only to find each other at the end. And the promise of a story where as both mother’s are fully supportive was something I was really looking forward to. Sadly, it did not come together in the end.

Blurb: After landing in the pound after being abandoned by yet another family, Ewan is convinced he’s too old to be adopted out again. For a pet like him, the only fate left is to be put down. But when Sir Jiat—of the City Guard, no less—visits the pound, he goes straight to Ewan. Jiat prefers the more mature pets and treats Ewan better than he’s ever been treated by any previous owner. Ewan sleeps at the foot of his master’s bed, not on the floor or outside; he is given toys and other pets to play with and plenty of room to run; and he’s fed on a schedule and eats very well. But Ewan’s love for his master begins to change, to become something else, something more.

Plenty of pets have been killed over the years for acting on the feelings that Sir Jiat inspires, so he dares not express the desire building inside him. And yet, Ewan can’t help but notice that Sir Jiat has begun to act differently as well, more doting, treating Ewan almost as an equal. So even though the thing he wants more than anything is also their society’s greatest taboo, Ewan resolves that if he must die, he will die having felt, just once, the warmth of Sir Jiat’s soft fur pressed against his bare naked skin.

Review: Ewan a human pet, is adopted from the pound by Jiat, a jaguar city guard and secret member of an organization who wants equal rights for all. Ewan ends up falling in love with Jiat which is a death sentence if found out.

This story is about humans who are pets to anthropomorphics. It was interesting in the fact that everything is reversed as it is today. Except for the fact, that pets talk in the story. Glad everything worked out in the end, though it was heartbreaking when I thought they put Ewan to sleep.

Review: This was an amazing story. Each book in the Dark Hollow Wolf Pack Series focuses on a different romantic couple. This story has quite a bit of a twist to it. I loved it and I hated it. It doesn’t make sense when I feel like that. I hate the pain that these wolves go through.

The pain that Nicky always seems to be going through. When he was first changed and mated, Marco treated him like a pet, which is what they were called. Nicky helped show him that it was all wrong, but he had left Marco for a brief period of time. Then he and Marco lost their bloodmatch thanks to a crazy scientist. Marco pushed him away, dissolved their mating and he left. He drank and used drugs to help with the pain and loneliness. Then the crazy doctor shot him with a concoction that gave them bloodlust, a much stronger feeling then bloodmatch. He got bigger, stronger, and more temperamental. It also made him attracted to one of his best friends Gabe. He didn’t know what was happening.

Marco was a loss. He had lost Nicky more than once. He finally got his mate back, but a mate he didn’t really know. Nicky had changed more than just physical. He scared him a bit, but more that he could lose Nicky for good. Although it was Gabe that realized something about Nicky’s wolf. They were indeed two separate beings. What he discovered could destroy them all. Marco loved his mate and would die to save him. And Nicky realized he felt the same way.

Shannon’s stories always have this dark intent in them. I love the other ones more than this one. I love Nicky and Marco but I am tired of hearing about them and their pain. It feels like they are just not getting a break ever. It is still a great story though. Characters that will draw you in and will keep you with them. The story caught my attention from the start of the story and kept it all the way to the end. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

All this time, August and his lover Bruce Monkton have tried to put the past behind them and build a secure and happy future as a couple, only to be brutally reminded of the terrible circumstances that initially brought them together.

With few clues and even fewer witnesses, August feels like a fish out of water, trying to deal with the memories of his own brother’s murder years earlier. Bruce’s assertion that someone is after him also weighs heavily on his mind, making August wonder if Bruce is actually insane after all.

Questions never truly answered resurface along with the boy’s head in Blood Pond. Is a serial killer still on the prowl hunting for fresh victims, or has the murderous psychopath been at August’s side, and sharing his bed, all along?

Review: Sexy Detective August Greystone is back in Whitefield to stop a killer from killing again. What he doesn’t realize is he drawn into a web of deceit and lies that span decades.

Handsome Bruce Monkton doesn’t want to go back to Blood Pond. He knows if he goes back to something terrible might happen to him or August.

Well written mystery with twists and turns all throughout that I never saw coming. The actual crimes were horrifying in their brutality. The hunt for a killer turned into uncovering that the person they thought was the killer in Blood Pond  was not the actual killer and that much more horrifying event’s that were taking place and more than one person involved.

It broke my heart and made me angry at what was being done to these young men at the expense of several others sick perversions and what was done to Bruce and his twin Clay when they young by someone who should’ve been protecting them.

I was honestly in shock by the end of the book and didn’t know what to write in this review. All in all, it was great read.

Jason is just looking for a little attention. He just wants to feel wanted, and a little summer passion would not hurt either. Jason is the self-proclaimed hopeless romantic of the group. Will he find his summer love or is romance really scarce?

Kevin is the complete opposite of Jason. He feels that romance is only alive in stories. Kevin’s love for a teenage drama goes too far, and his obsession turns into more than he expected. Did Kevin finally stumble upon some romance or does his fascination finally get the better of him?

Bobby is looking for a connection. Any kind of connection. He meets a new guy every night and shares his bed with him. What is really going on behind Bobby’s bedroom door? Will he ever be able to fill this insatiable void for closeness?

Benjamin sneaks out every night. He disappears into the night and reemerges the next morning as if nothing had happened. He is quiet about his extracurricular activities. Where does Benjamin go? What is he doing?

In this beach oasis, where there is an endless sea of sexy men with perfect bodies, will Jason and his friends actually find love or just one night stands? One thing is for certain, it is an epic vacation that none of them will forget.

Bad choices. We all make them, some more than others. Dusty’s choices have left him unemployed, broke and practically homeless. Despite the major issues he has with his family, his only rational choice is to sell everything and move into his parents’ basement. At thirty. Looking for a ride west, he answers a phone ad. The voice at the other end of the line flows like dark, rich honey. Finally something to look forward to—listening to Joe’s voice all the way from Illinois to Idaho.

Rather than the hip crooner of Dusty’s fantasies, Joe turns out to look more like a panhandler. Is that because Joe dresses down, or are Dusty’s preconceptions about Native Americans clouding his vision? Joe is silent more often than not. He has a complicated past and still has amends to make. But he is ready to move on. Dusty feels trapped. Two damaged men, one small car driving two thousand miles into the sun—sometimes things need to break down before they can get fixed.

Blurb: This is book six in the Mossy Glenn Ranch series. See the full series listing here

Frankie never let anyone close, until Duke refused to give up on him.

Frankie Freemont knows everyone at the Mossy Glenn thinks he’s a jerk for breaking things off with Jody. Letting people get close to him just isn’t something Frankie does. And older men? No way. Frankie doesn’t do that daddy thing so many younger guys seem to like.

This is why he can’t understand his reaction to Duke Edmonds. Duke has always made him nervous for no reason Frankie can figure out.

Duke suffers a concussion, and Frankie suffers the consequences of a bad choice he makes. With his family wanting him for only one thing—money—and Duke slowly breaking down his defenses, Frankie doesn’t know which way is up.

Duke is determined to prove to Frankie that he’s a good man—they both are. Duke’s worked hard to overcome his youthful past. He’s still ashamed of being a bully years ago, and does everything he can to make sure he never makes mistakes like that again. Being a better man is hard at times, but Duke’s spent his whole adult life doing so.

Now he and Frankie have to decide what they want, and how to go about getting it. That means making some changes that can break each man’s heart.

Review: This is book six in the Mossy Glen Ranch series but it stands alone just fine. I want to say I love the titles and covers too. I will warn you that you will not want to put it down once you start. Bailey has a way of captivating you until the very last word. Also, you will want to read the first six in this series https://www.goodreads.com/series/98282-mossy-glenn-ranch plus the nine in the Love in Xxchange series https://www.goodreads.com/series/60325-love-in-xxchange to see how Will, Troy, Carlos and the rest of the gang met.

Though the trio does make an appearance, we don’t get a sex scene from them this time, oh well. Duke swept me off my feet. I have a thing about older men and Duke is hot, sexy and has a heart of gold, and is determined to make Frankie his.

I actually liked Frankie even though he had recently dumped Jody. I did see his point to not keep leading Jody on. I had a soft spot for Frankie. Frankie is a loner and doesn’t make friends easily. He has a very low self-esteem and is self-destructive. He gets involved with a man who likes to get rougher than Frankie likes.

There is quite a bit going on in this story with Frankie and his secrets, and Duke dealing with effects of a bad concussion and some family issues of his own. We meet a couple of characters I hope are coming in the next book or so also. I will say there was a twist near the end that brought tears to my eyes, though it led to a very satisfying ending that brought me even more tears though this time happy ones.

I highly recommend this book (and this series) if you like hot sexy cowboys, older men/younger men, life issues, some angst a touch of drama, some twists, a bit of a tearjerker, smokin’ hot sex and a sweet satisfying ending this is definitely for you. After 15 books in this line, Bailey never ceases to amaze me with her wonderful characters and heart-wrenching stories. If you like MM cowboy romance, you will want this series!

Blurb: Five sex-free dates—how hard can it be?

When they were at uni, Owen always had a bit of a crush on Nathan.

But Nathan was apparently straight, and Owen was too busy with other guys to take his crush seriously.

When Nathan moves back to Bristol after a year away, Owen hears that Nathan has come out of the closet, and he propositions him. Nathan doesn’t want to be just another notch on Owen’s bedpost, though, so he challenges Owen to prove he can be serious: five dates before they have sex.

Owen doesn’t think that sounds too difficult. He’s expecting Nathan to find his charms irresistible anyway. But as they grow closer, Owen begins to care more about proving himself to Nathan than he does about getting him into bed.

Review: Owen and Nathan have run in the same circle of friends since college, and Owen always liked him, but everyone believed Nathan to be straight. Now Nathan has come back home and come out to his friends, Owen thinks he may finally get a chance to get in his long time crushes pants. But Nathan doesn’t want a onetime rendezvous or a fling, he wants the real thing. So he makes Owen a deal, five sex free dates before he will entertain the notion of sleeping with him.

What starts out as a plan to seduce Nathan and play the game by his rules begins to change the more time they spend together. Owen starts to want something more with Nathan, dare I say, a relationship. Nathan is used to the love them and leave them side of Owen though, and he doesn’t want to be just another body left in the wake. But Owen truly starts to feel something more for Nathan with every date the go on, the problem is, Nathan has a hard time believing in Owens sincerity.

This was just a fast, fun read with a lot of romance, passion and relationship building for Owen and Nathan. They stumble a few times before they learn to navigate each other’s personalities. But they are so much fun to watch as they start to communicate. If you like, a fast-paced story that flows steadily and has some hot man on man action, you are going to really enjoy this quick read.
