Review: It as a day of many bad surprises, okay maybe not all of the surprises were bad. Jericho overheard his uncle and another planning to bury a body. He has also found his mate, and man is the man not sex on a stick. His very male mate and boy did he not want to tell his uncle. He was afraid that the man would get on his motorcycle and run away as fast as he could.

Ben and his best friend needed to take a break from riding. But his luck has changed, he has found out that the sexy bunny shifter is his mate. A mate that is definitely freaking out. To find out that Jericho’s uncle was the one that hurt him but also the dead body, well Ben wasn’t going anywhere.

You have a small town with noisy neighbors walking in, someone always stealing your food, pretty cool characters and danger in these stories. The problem was that they are following pretty much the same pattern. Big wolf shifter, small bunny shifter, danger and so on is just a bit to used for me to truly love the story. Other than that though it is still entertaining.

I enjoyed reading it and look forward to reading the next book.

Review: In the continuing saga of the viking warrior’s being sent out to protect a prophesied druid from the fae it is Fritjof’s turn to find Wylie. He travels to the Amazon and discovers more than he bargained for. Hell bent on keeping his distance from Wylie all while protecting him becomes impossible.

Wylie is a fierce young man who laughs but yet hides his pain behind said laughs. The two get off to a rocky start as they both try to hide how they really feel for one another. It takes being attacked by Wylie’s niece’ father, a fae and him kidnapping her, for them to realize that they need to own up to their feelings if they have any hope of rescuing Tess.

I loved everything about this story. This series must be read in order as each book picks up where the previous one ends with a new couple in each addition. I’m excited to see what else happens in this thrilling series.

Fantastic read.

Review: Fair warning this book contains scenes of violence, rape, enslavement, torture, forced pregnancy, public sex and prescription drug abuse.

You basically get the lives of four men in this story. Dafydd and Ric as well as Malcolm and Brenin. Dafydd had been held for close to four hundred years by a monster, whereas Brenin had been held for months. Dafydd had also been forced to have babies with the monster. He had even killed one of the twins to save one of the men trying to save them. He had wanted to die but was forced by the doc to survive. He was just now getting around to trying to be a father to his latest baby.

Malcolm knew that Brenin was still having troubles with what had happened. He just didn’t have a clue how to help him. Ric was in the same boat but with Dafydd using pills with alcohol. Neither man knew what to do to help the men they loved.

I don’t really know what it is about these stories that doesn’t do it for me. However if I had to guess it is the dark side to the stories. The BDSM doesn’t bother me too much but I don’t really need it in any of the stories. I think mostly it was the fact that it was about four men instead of just Ric and Dafydd. They seemed to be thrown back for parts of the story. The mates come off shallow and immature when they shouldn’t be. It just made the story a bit harder to get into as it should have.

I hate to admit that the same dark tone is what is making me change my mind with this series. I just can’t seem to connect with them. It was fine to read but I can honestly say that it will only be read once.

Review: Ezra is a broody vampire who has had a long life of doing things he did not want to. Add to that he know is expected to take over for hi dying father on the council but not unless he has a mate, which he does not want. Until Declan enters his life. He brings a joy to Ezra he never felt before.

But alas, problems from others threaten the couples happiness and Ezra is determined that no one will pull them apart.I liked the story. It was a typical vampire story with action, suspense and romance. The only thing that I did not like was all the sex scenes but that was to be expected, sorry just not my thing to have so many, I just skipped them.

Engaging and entertaining read about two men just trying to live their lives in peace with one another. I enjoyed all the characters throughout this lively story.

Great read.

Review: Chef on Top is the third book in MJ O’Shea’s self-published series, Sizzling in the Kitchen. Unfortunately, at the time I read this series I read another series (Recipe for Love by Ari McKay), and so I mixed things up and only just realised that I did a review for one series and not this one. Which sucks, because this won’t have as much detail as I usually try to put in reviews since it’s been almost two months since I read these books.

While I enjoyed the story, I felt that there was a certain spark missing from the story that meant that I did not enjoy this one as much as I had thought I would, or as much as I had wanted. It wasn’t so much that there was a HFN end, instead of an HEA (that doesn’t bother me so much, especially if there is meant to be a fourth book). It was more that the end seemed rather abrupt. This also felt odd because this book is significantly shorter than previous two books. No idea if that makes sense or any difference, but there you have it.

This book follows the man who was originally introduced in book 1 as celebrity chef Baldwin Powell’s arch-rival, Jake Casey. Things aren’t all what they seem when it comes to Jake Casey, though he has a great passion for food which led him to be one of the biggest chefs in New York, he wasn’t exactly happy. The most recent development was when Baldwin offered Jake a job in his new restaurant in Las Vegas. Jake grabs the opportunity and is ready to turn his life around. The next big shift in his life is when his best friend in world, Ty, needs help. Jake takes it upon himself to save Ty from humiliation when he has to face his ex, suggesting to be fake boyfriends.

This is a really light and breezy type of romance, there isn’t too much drama or angst, and despite the story not having a heck of a lot of spark, Ty and Jake have got enough chemistry bringing the story along. I strongly recommend reading this series in order, while each book features a new couple the story picks up after the previous book and there are a lot of references that require knowing the background to fully get the storylines.

Sheriff Trent Harrington of Trinidad is tasked with escorting Maxton to Trinidad. The request isn’t unusual, but the young miscreant is. Maxton draws Trent’s heart out of its shell with his flashing green eyes and lush head of hair. It isn’t right. It isn’t natural. It’s illegal. Yet Trent cannot resist the impetuous young man.

As the two men travel through the dry, lonely desert to their destination, will they find in each other the love and companionship they never thought they’d have?

A male/male time travel romance, complete with the scent of desert roses, brilliantly colored sunsets, starlit nights, roast rabbit over an open fire, growing honesty and trust, and true love across time.
