Blurb: Mitch Montgomery should be happy. He’s just got his own apartment with his best friend from high school, Josh Connors, recently landed a job at IGNITE, the coolest and gayest gym in town, and his new neighbor is hot, hung, horny, and above everything else, interested.

So why isn’t he…. happy?

It’s because he thought that by now his life would be way better. Instead of attending a crappy community college, Mitch should be at a big name school busy being Big Man On Campus and scoring touchdowns, not wiping down lockers and giving workout advice to wannabe gym dudes. This was not the way it was supposed to be. But a devastating knee injury during his junior year ended all of his hopes and dreams of ever going pro.

Austin Grey is gorgeous. Everybody wants him, but he only wants Mitch Montgomery who recently moved in across the way. Austin has a problem. A big very problem. He used to be… fat.

While in high school, Austin was an outcast, unpopular and bullied. After graduation he vowed to leave the fat boy behind and become the wet dream on legs he is now. Easier said than done. While working on his outer self, he neglected his inner self, and he can’t seem to accept the new person he’s become no matter how hard he tries.

All on the same city block, the boys of Banana Court learn to love, live, and sometimes lose as they strive to have a little fun along the way.

Review: This is a fun and quick read. It’s one of those no stress, relaxing type of books that you can only get angry at if you want more melodrama or whatever. Really, the whole premise is just a bit of fun – young, gay college students just trying to get by between work and school and maybe throw in a love life in between all of that. It’s really a few hissy-fits away from being a gay soap opera.

Obviously, this story follows Mitch and Austin. Mitch and his best friend since school, Josh, find an apartment together in Banana Court where they are surrounded by like minded young men. It is there where Mitch meets one of their new neighbors, Austin.  Mitch doesn’t realize it at first, but Austin was a year level above him and Josh, and is quite unrecognizable because he has lost quite a bit of weight and has basically become some sort of Adonis.

That is essentially the main guts of the story. There is nothing super involved, which is why this is such an easy and enjoyable read. This is one of those books that is great to read after you have just gone through a particularly harrowing book and your poor little heart that takes fiction too seriously needs time to recover.

Totally enjoyable with some really hot sexual tension and sex, Alex Carreras does not disappoint with a sexy story with a HEA.

Review: This book is a collection of the three novellas which make up Alex Carreras’ Sangre Series. It makes perfect sense that this series was released in the one volume since the stories are tightly connected together, so much so that it could almost be read as one story. Luckily, since this is the one volume, there is no need to worry that you are reading the books in the right order, something that is essential for the Sangre series.

The stories themselves are all interesting and enjoyable, though something I noticed with all three is that the action seemed to be glossed over a bit. However, the characters themselves are all enjoyable and you can really see their development. For me, it was the six MCs that made the stories for me rather than the actual plot line. The attraction between the guys was hot, but this too sometimes felt like it was being glossed over.

Firstly, in Buzz & Blow, we are introduced to the town Sangre in Florida and the vampires that work at the hairdressers, Everlasting. Their rival across the street is the rougher, vampire-run barber shop, Killer Kuts. Asher from Everlasting meets the dark and mysterious Niko from Killer Kuts. They find themselves surrounded by the mystery of solving who the vampire is that is killing humans and in the process drag their friend from Everlasting and Killer Kuts along with them.

Then we go to Shave & Shimmer, where Tory from Everlasting and Ray, new to Killer Kuts (spotting the trend here?) meet under the watchful match-making eye of Tory’s friend from the first book, Asher. Ray has some baggage from his past. He has mourned the death of his lover and sire for over a hundred and fifty years.

Tory on the other hand is essentially a ray of sunshine, pun intended although unfortunately this description of the character does not always come across. As well as facing Ray’s past, there is an underlying current of trouble spilling over from the first book.

Then we end with Fade & Fluff, where the owners of Everlasting, Jerrod, and Killer Kuts, Kaidron, meet up but not for the first time. These guys have a long history together. They are ex-lovers. We find that out quite quickly in the first story. Unfortunately, I just don’t think there was enough emphasis on their past and what exactly went wrong for the guys. This story is about tying up the loose ends of the first two books as well as getting the ex-lovers to work out their differences.

Once again, I think the danger that the six MCs are facing needed more (though I’m not entirely sure what, I can’t put my finger on it).

Overall it was enjoyable and you do really need to read all three to get complete satisfaction from the overarching plot.

Blurb: After the death of his parents, Shane McCloud rents an apartment with his younger brother, Ian, on Perdido Key, Florida.

Vowing to start anew, the two brothers decide to go out to a local bar to have some well-deserved fun. That night Shane meets a man named Roger who blows him away in more ways than one. After a quick romp in a men’s room stall, Shane can’t stop thinking about the attractive man.

Anthony Antonelli didn’t mean to give a false name but he never expected to see Shane again, anyway. Hell, it had been years since he last saw his high school crush so the chances were slim to none…or so he thought.

Unable to stay away from Shane, Anthony finds himself at the bar where they first became reacquainted the following night. And after seeing Shane, all goes well but unfortunately Anthony can’t resist telling one more lie.

Then another.

And then another.

Review: The main problem I saw with this book was the fact that the author used the wrong names for the guys. Anthony goes into to the restaurant and is talking to his dad. Anthony says he talked to Anthony today, when it should have been he talked to Shane. A few pages before that it was Shane’s brother telling him that Shane showed up to see him. This happens a few times in the book. It drives me up the wall that an author has a great story and when you come across mistakes that are so easy to catch it leaves me with questions.

This is the first book that I have read from this author and as I said it would have been a great story if it had not had all the mistakes that I had noticed. It makes it come across like the author rushed this book.

Shane and his brother Ian lost their parents to a car crash, and were more or less forced to move. Finding an apartment was on their side and so were the great neighbors. When they decide to celebrate at the club, Shane was shocked to find himself doing some hot stuff in the bathroom. It wasn’t till his new neighbors take him to a restaurant that he finds out the truth. His sexy lover had lied about who he was.

Anthony has always liked Shane, but was ashamed of who he was at one time, so he lied about who he was. Anthony had been a big boy when they were in school and he wanted to come off as someone else. Too bad it gets his ass in trouble.

Now normally when I am disappointed in a book I don’t normally look forward to reading the next story. However since this is the first of a series, I am wanting to see what he does with the next book. So far I am disappointed in the mistakes that were easy to notice. I hope the next book is edited better.

Now overall, the story is sexy, hot and has great potential. I look forward to hearing about what Ian is going to get into.

Blurb: one story, 25 authors, infinite possibilities…

Quad McDaniel’s life changed forever the night he was attacked by a wolf. Now, he turns furry every full moon. Avoiding red meat and anything that makes him aggressive is his prime goal in life. But when his convertible breaks down in some Podunk town, becoming the beast within is no longer a choice. It’s instinctive.

Gypsy Govanivinch just wants to live a quiet life in Trinity Valley, running his roadhouse tavern. He doesn’t need an overly aggressive shifter coming into his town and messing with his peaceful little world, no matter how gorgeous the man looked.

Life never asked Quad or Gypsy what they wanted. It simply gave them what they needed, whether they agreed or not. Fate brought them together but it’s up to Quad and Gypsy to stay alive long enough to appreciate what they’ve been given. And when others work to prevent that, fighting together might be the only chance they have of surviving.

Review: This was a wacky, crazy, and pretty damn good read. I have never read a book where each chapter is by a different author. But I must say they did a great job.

Quad is changed into a wolf shifter and abandoned by his maker. Now months later Quad is driving in his new car when it decides to die outside a little town called Trinity Valley. From there things just get weirder and weirder.

Gypsy is not human himself and is able to explain to Quad a little about shifters. But Gypsy has been hurt by shifters before and has a pretty big issue with them. But that doesn’t stop these two from mixing it up both in and out of bed. The chemistry is there from the start even when they don’t seem to like each other much.

For a book written by twenty-five different authors, there was a good flow in the story. It was fast paced and gave the needed information without dragging down the story with too much. The sex was steamy and very hot. The main characters were easy to like and personable.

A lot happens in a very short amount of time. There was tons of twist and turns going on throughout as Quad and Gypsy try to figure out what the hell is going on. There was some wicked planning going on by the bad guys.

This was a well written story by some of my favorite authors. It was entertaining, humorous, sexy, and wicked fun to read.
