Review: With Heart is a standalone paranormal romance by E.A. Reynolds.

I’m familiar with Reynold’s writing and while I am always to happy to give one of their books a go, I will say my opinion goes between liking and loving some books, while others leave me feeling “meh”, although I would never go as far to say that I dislike a book but more simply it’s unlikely that I’ll re-read it. Definitely one of those authors that is on my radar but I don’t think I’ve really formed a personal opinion on their writing because it does feel like a 50/50 split between “awesome” and “meh”.

And, unfortunately, With Heart is one of those books that falls on the “meh” side of the scale. There is basically only one reason for this and I’ll go into soon.

The plot is quite simple, although I have to admit that I find the blurb a little clunky to read. Covington is a shapeshifter who has lived away from his hometown and his family for some years. He escaped to the big city where he became a cop to get away from his controlling mother and the judgmental family members that do not approve of him being openly gay. But after being summoned home, Covington reluctantly goes. He brings along his human lover, Cameron.

Cameron is a little lost. His relationship with Cove is floundering. He’s happy enough but he knows he needs more from life. He’s grown up without a family, with no parents or siblings, and the confusion over his relationship feeds into this loneliness. Going to Talonwitch with Covington is an eye opening experience. He meets Cove’s disapproving family, finds out some of his boyfriend’s secrets, finds something that could link him to actual family and discovers a world he never thought possible.

However, there is also danger as a number of poorly investigated crimes over the past decades has culminated to this moment. Cove investigating and while Cove is discovering new depths to his relationship, there is also an immediate danger to Cameron.

I like the storyline for the most part. Cameron’s plotline of self-discovery was the most interesting part of the book in my opinion. I also liked the mystery and crime aspect as Cove unravels the darkness plaguing the town.

However, while there is chemistry between Covington and Cameron, I truly struggled. This was a couple on the brink of breaking up, with Covington hoping that Cameron tagging along would speed up this process. However, like with an instalove scenario, these guys suddenly get their shit together without much explanation. In fact, it made Covington a tad unconvincing and unlikeable at first. I get that this was where the BDSM really should have come in, this was part of what was missing between them, but I just didn’t feel it all. I

In general, I think this book is worth a go to anyone that loves paranormal romances, particularly those that like other paranormal titles published by the myriad of Siren authors.

I recommend this one to anyone that is a fan of Reynold’s previous work, particularly those that like their work without reserve. The BDSM elements aren’t particularly strong, but may appeal to those that like a bit of kink with shapeshifters.

Review: Each book in the Wildcat County collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Things are out of control for Austen. He loves his little sister something fierce, but the rest of the family could drop dead. His boss wants him to take over the shop but he has some conditions that Austen doesn’t like. Then a sexy cat ask him out, and he just wasn’t sure he wanted to try. His last mate left him and hooked up with a female. He just wasn’t to sure about love.

Kieron was working for the good guys while undercover with the bad guys. He has been given instructions on what to do, but a sexy feline has him tied into knots. Then he finds out that Austen’s family just might be involved. He was a hired killer for Logan, but he knows he will protect his mate. That is if he can get his mate to behave.

With this story you definitely have to read the previous books. The characters are so hard to follow and even though they are fighting for good, you just can’t tell. This story was actually a bit easier to follow but still ended up giving me a damn headache. I was glad for the ending and happy to see them together. The writing is well done and the story top rated, but like I said it is a bit confusing. It jumps from one spot to the next.

I can honestly say that I am on the line with this book. I don’t know if I like it or not. It has a darkness to it that I don’t really care for and very little humor to make up for it. I hate to admit that I might just give up on this series, since I have difficulties following it. Oh well we will see what the next one looks like.

Review: Each book in the Peyton City’s collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in s
sequential order.

This is definitely one of those types of series that each story needs to be read back to back. The worlds are so twisted and the characters are completely complex. I have trouble keeping the good guys from the bad guys most of the time. It is a action packed story though with lots of excitement, adventure, twists and some hot sex scenes.

Logan was sent to find evidence against some shifters. To execute if need be, that is until he finds one of his targets to be his mate. Talk about a confusing situation for them both, because Jenner is not one of those tame pussy cats. He is all bite if need be, but he is falling for his sexy assassin mate. To bad someone wants them all dead.

Now normally I am all for books that are full of action, and assassins are majorly hot for me. The problems is trying to follow the pattern this author has put into her stories. For me a good story is remembered even if I am not reading it right then and there, and for me this was not that type of story. Now once I started reading it, I soon remembered the rest of the books. The characters however I did not. It is a difficult read to follow for me. Not so much that it took away from the story completely but I could not connect with the characters at all.

I had hoped with each book it would get easier, but when I read this one, the worlds just seem to collide with each other. I am still not completely sure of who is bad and who is good, but hey it will be interesting to figure it out in the end. Guess I will wait to see what this author makes for her readers in the future.

Review: Each book in the Wildcat County collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

This series is actually connected to another series, Peyton City. You will get characters from both series mixing together. I will admit that this series is very complex and somewhat complicated. I will also admit that I sometimes get the guys mixed up. This is one of those stories that you must read in order and not as a stand alone type of story. The story is that complex and very fast pace. For me it is a must to read them right before I read a new one otherwise my butt gets real lost with all the characters. There is quite a bit of new characters as well as old ones and it can be a bit confusing to figure out who is who and what is what. The story is real complex for me, but still fun to read.

Landyn is a jaguar shifter who doesn’t want a mate. He is so far in the closet that he fears coming out. The thing is, his mate just so happens to be a powerful lion shifter who is going to go all out to get him. Well one night, one sweet walk, and his jaguar takes the decision out of his hands.

Emil protects those around him and wants his mate. He knows deep down his mate wants him, but getting him to admit it might be too much. To top it of the jackals are at it again.

It is a very action pact series and you never know what is going to happen next. However it is also very hard to follow also. I had trouble figuring out who was trying to cause problems but damn it was fun to figure it out.

I had a lot of fun with this book and can not wait to start the next one. I would definitely recommend it and the others.

Review: Each book in the Peyton City collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

The war is getting even harder to win, especially when the coyote’s and jackals get involved. Alimi is in charge of keeping one sectioned safe but even he knew that it was probably impossible. He was a hard core soldier and knew that death was the only way for those he is fighting. Then in walks his mate, and the things he once thought went out the window.

Raiden is not what I expected. He is not as hard core as his mate, but he is damn protective of his mate. What he thought was a routine mission has turned into a freaking nightmare. However he knows that the one person he wants the most had better survive.

The story and its previous ones are quite unique and surprising. It is a very complex story that involves not only the two characters you are reading about, but many more. This is one of those stories that you need to read the previous books right before you read the new one, because if not you will be lost. Half the time I had no clue who was who and what did they stand for. It is a very hard story to follow and does have a dark tone to it. Personally I don’t really care for it, but the story itself is pretty amazing. The sex is not the main focus of the story, but the war that is happening is.

For me this story is just too hard to focus on and is something more for a afternoon read. I like my stories to be a little bit more fun and sexy, which this definitely is not. I am glad to see that it might be reaching the end though. We will see what the next book brings.

Review: Each book in the Peyton City collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by E. A. Reynolds.

The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. I only had one problem with this story is that it is a bit confusing trying to figure out who is against the white panthers and who is not. Well it gets confusing throughout the story to me.

Jessup is a white wildcat and he is gay. In his pride gays used to be killed however now they are forced to mate with stronger females. They are forced to become what their alpha wanted. Let’s face it this kid’s family needs to be beat. He had even signed up with a dating service to find a mate.

He had not expected a black panther though. His cat just wanted to purr at him. However he had witnessed a murder and someone was out to kill him. He needed to be protected and it looks like his mate was taking over.

Brady is a very dominant panther with quite a bit of kink to him. He comes off cold throughout the book though. I wasn’t sure I liked him, well until the end. His mate just happens to be a sexy little man, who used to play baseball. He loves his fancy nails, stylish hair and quirky attitude. He was trying to find out who was trying to kill them, and at the same time keep them safe.

There are just a few words that appear at the wrong time, but other than that my attention never wavered from the story. It had caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it there all the way to the end.

They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a touch of humor in them that I love. It gave me everything I could want in a book.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. What is better than gorgeous men, sexy little mates, male pregnancy, excitement, some hot and kinky sex, a little bit of twists and lots of danger?

Review: Each book in the Peyton City collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Now this is the fourth book in this series and I must admit there is quite a bit of confusion at first and darkness that doesn’t work well. It has a mixture of actions that makes it a bit hard to follow. There are so many characters. That also makes it a bit hard. I am never sure of who is good and who is bad. Nor do I truly understand where they are headed.

Now that doesn’t last throughout the whole book but is questionable all the way around. However with all of that, I can tell you that it doesn’t take away from my having a blast with this book.
Voss is basically the alpha of two prides that I can tell and there is a war going on. He is surprised by a sexy panther that shows up and turns out to be his mate. All he is trying to do is to keep his people safe and now he is trying to keep his little mate safe. Boy is he in for a big surprise.

Colby is an assassin and works for the lions. However he is not a lion and is holding back a lot of truths. He is in fact a snow panther and works undercover for the Order. He is trying to stop the war and the toxins that will kill them all. What he can’t figure out is why he is so damn attracted to Voss but he knows he will do everything he can to keep him safe.

It is a damn good story, but to truly follow it you have to start with the first book. Even having read it I was a bit lost because it had been a few weeks since I had read the last book. However I had a blast reading it and look forward to the next book. It gave me almost everything I could want in a story. And it might have been dark and a bit confusing but I could not take my eyes off of the story. I had fun reading it.

Review: Each book in the Peyton City collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. In fact, you will have to. It is the only way not to be confused with this story. Even with time has passed, and I haven’t read the other books in a few weeks I am a bit lost with it. E. A. Reynolds has one amazing imagination. The characters are well written and developed.

Taylan has always been on the side of good but he never fully trusted him Dom. He was in love with Collen but he tried to get messages to him, but Collen never did anything about the danger. Then while meeting one of the cats, he is injured and has lost his memory. He has forgotten that he had in fact been mated to Collen.

Collen did not know what to believe, but he knew that he did love Taylan. He loved his sub but did not think they were mates. He took Taylan home after he was hurt, and kept him by his side. Now he must learn to trust what is in his heart as well as in his mind.

I came across this author some time ago and there is always a twist to the stories. I love the twist and turns to it, but it is so confusing at times especially if you haven’t read the first two books that it does the exact opposite of what one would like. You have the paranormal world mixed in with love, danger, suspense, excitement and some pretty hot action in this book. I enjoyed it enough to know that I will read them over more than once.

Of course I will start with the first book to recap what I do not remember from them.

I would be happy to recommend this book to my friends.

Review: This was a wacky, crazy, and pretty damn good read. I have never read a book where each chapter is by a different author. But I must say they did a great job.

Quad is changed into a wolf shifter and abandoned by his maker. Now months later Quad is driving in his new car when it decides to die outside a little town called Trinity Valley. From there things just get weirder and weirder.

Gypsy is not human himself and is able to explain to Quad a little about shifters. But Gypsy has been hurt by shifters before and has a pretty big issue with them. But that doesn’t stop these two from mixing it up both in and out of bed. The chemistry is there from the start even when they don’t seem to like each other much.

For a book written by twenty-five different authors, there was a good flow in the story. It was fast paced and gave the needed information without dragging down the story with too much. The sex was steamy and very hot. The main characters were easy to like and personable.

A lot happens in a very short amount of time. There was tons of twist and turns going on throughout as Quad and Gypsy try to figure out what the hell is going on. There was some wicked planning going on by the bad guys.

This was a well written story by some of my favorite authors. It was entertaining, humorous, sexy, and wicked fun to read.

To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but also draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by E. A. Reynolds.

There is something about the way that E. A. tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story. I only had one problem with this story is that it is a bit confusing trying to figure out who is against the white panthers and who is not.

Jordan has known that Jamar is his mate, but that Jamar is interested in another. He wanted his mate, but knew that a mating would not be true if the other is interested in another man. He was going to bide his time and eventually he would get Jamar. There were many that wanted the white panthers to be killed off. The white panthers are the ones that will keep the blacks panthers going. They are loyal, can keep their mates by their side, and give them the children they needed. He just worried that Jamar wouldn’t want any of it.

Jamar had wanted another, that is until Mendes took a liking to Jamie. Jamar was a white panther, and if he didn’t take a mate, his grandfather would make him. He didn’t want that, but he wasn’t really sure what he wanted. Then Jordan starts coming on to him and he is a bit lost. Jordan is into the BDSM scene heavily, but he fears that Jordan just wants to play. That is until he realizes that they are mates.

Then the fun begins.

I loved this book but I am not sure about the way Jordan is with Jamar. I mean to me it feels like he is pushing the spanking. I don’t understand some of that. It just seems too harsh to be true. There are just a few words that appear at the wrong time, but other than that, my attention never wavered from the story.
