Blurb: The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach, and no one knows it better than the men in EM Lynley’s Delectable Series.

In Brand New Flavor, Artisan ice cream maker Jay Brown and food critic Cameron Clay have one delicious encounter that could lead to much more, if they can find each other again. Simon Ford resents the easy life of those like Austin Kelvin, owner of Kelvin Cellars in Napa Valley, in An Intoxicating Crush. But Austin’s business is going under, and when Simon’s true reasons for being at the winery come to light, Simon will have to risk everything to prove his sincerity.

When Alex Bancroft’s bakery burns down a week before Christmas and he’s pulled from the flames by Kevin Flint in Gingerbread Palace, the gingerbread house he donates to charity seems like it’s not going to happen, until Fire Station 7 comes to the rescue yet again. But can Kevin come out of the closet long enough to see what he might be missing?

In Spaghetti Western, professional chef Riley Emerson’s dreams are in tatters when he takes a job at the Rocking Z guest ranch. Colby Zane is ecstatic when the new cook turns out to be his hot one-night stand, but financial problems at the ranch may drive them apart. In 12 Courses, chef Thom Kennedy has finally regained his confidence after the theft of his recipes when ex-boyfriend Blake Warner shows up at his restaurant several days in a row. But can he trust Blake again when he seems to know more that he’s saying about the theft?

Review: Brand New Flavor 💖💖💖💖 4 Hearts

Jay has had a hard time trusting others after a disaster of a relationship. It wasn’t even the relationship itself that cause the problems, but the damn man stole his recipes. He created the most erotic ice cream ever. The taste was just that good. So when a man wanted to taste his ice cream, lets say things heated up. But trouble always gets in the way, when Cameron’s ex tried to mess with Jay’s head.

The ice cream that was mentioned in this story, made me want to go out and get some. Jay definitely has self esteem issues and I wasn’t to sure about him. He is a sweetie and cute as can be. Cameron is a little better then him, but he comes off as a bit of a player at first. I don’t like cheating or close to it, and this one pushed it. However the story is cute and I did enjoy it quite a bit. Now normally I would have given it a harder rating but I truly had fun reading it.

The characters are charming and for such a short story it gives you a good taste. I do wish it had been a bit longer, but it is perfect to heat your day.

Intoxicating Crush 💖💖💖💖 4 Hearts

Austin loves owning and running the winery. His father had given it to him and his brother, but it was Austin that truly loved it. However he is a bit stubborn when he is in need of help, he won’t tell anyone about it. When Simon came to the to taste the blends, Austin was a bit tongue tied. Things were going good, then Austin’s world just drops out. Simon is in big trouble now.

I am not much of a wine or beer person so some of the story went over my head, but the guys were a different subject. They were definitely tasty and damn sexy. This story was a cute addition to my library and I was glad that I had taken the time to read it. It is an even paced story that didn’t really draw it out, which was nice.

I really like the characters but I think Austin would win out here. Simon seemed a bit to weak in my eyes when it came to his boss and what he truly wanted. Other than that I did have fun reading this book and can’t wait to start in on the next one.

Gingerbread Palace 💖💖💖💖 4 Hearts

Every year Alex and his screw always makes nice size gingerbread houses and men to sell. The money they raise goes to a charity for foster kids and to place them in the best homes. He had not been so luck and he over came all that had happened to him, but he wanted to give other children a chance at having a better life. When a fire looked to stop them from doing it, the firehouse stepped in to help. To bad the one fire fighter he had the hots for, acted like a homophobic asshat. However not everything is as it seems.

Lets just say Kevin is an asshat and I didn’t really care for him. Even getting to know him there was just not really a chance to like him till the very end. I loved Alex and understod where he had been standing at. I enjoyed reading the story and the charcters were quite a hit with me.

This is a sweet story with a bit of heartache added in. The guys were sexy and always did love a man in uniform. I enjoyed this book quite a bit.

Spaghetti Western 💖💖💖💖 3.5 Hearts

Riley has done something that many would wish they did, he followed his dreams. He became a professional chef and is one hell of a cook. He can make food that is orgasmic to say the least. When he heads to Colorado to be with his boyfriend, he hadn’t expected that boyfriend in bed with another. Now he not only had to mend a broken heart but find a new job. Searching around ends him up at a ranch that catered to guest. He had not expected the one man he had slept with after what had happned to be one of the owners of that ranch. Things are looking good, until a potential investor wants more from Colby.

This story gave me mixed feelings. I actually thought about giving it a lower rating because of the near screwup with the Colby and that investor. However thanks to intervention it turned out pretty good. I just don’t condone what was going to happen and felt that it would have caused big trouble between our sexy characters, but was glad the author took it in another direction. However it did make the story drop for me in the end.

I hate to admit that this story was really good but I have certain pet peeves and this one was knocking on the door for me. It could have gone either way for me and I didn’t much care for it. I liked Riley quite a bit and in the end Colby went down the drain. So this particular story just about made me want to say no to the rest of the book.

12 Courses 💖💖💖💖 3.5 Hearts

Thom was an inspiring chef till someone stole his ideas, and he was the one blamed for it. Now a few years have past and the one man he had loved back then shows up. Blake had taken off when all of the damage had been done to Thom, but it wasn’t what Thom took it for.

This one was a bit dry to me. Betrayal and anger given to one for something that had been an accident, even though the end was horrible. Now starting over and Thom was terrified by the results. They both come off a bit weak to me and the connection that should be there wasn’t. The story just

They don’t truly have trust and trust is definitely needed in a relationship, but then again with a small story I can see how it was worked. It is a cute story and the characters were enjoyable but they were missing something big to me.

Overall

I liked the recipes that were in the stories but it made them drag out and that wasn’t good for me. The story did make me hungry though. I liked most of the characters but there was so much drama that wasn’t needed to keep my attention. I had a few likes and dislikes, but overall each story was pretty unique and fresh for me. I liked the guys and their happy endings. I enjoyed reading it and would recommend it.

Review: Now at first I wasn’t really sure if I would like these stories. What changed my mind were the characters themselves. Although Reed really didn’t rock like he should have, I did enjoy Trent quite a bit. I love how it was he who really solved the cases. Reed did become a favorite at the end though.

Rarer Than Rubies ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
When Trent Copeland runs into Reed Acton at a Bangkok airport, he thinks the handsome American is too good to be true. Why would someone like Reed be interested in a quiet, introverted gay-romance writer? After all, even an obvious tourist like Trent can see that there is more to Reed’s constant unexplained appearances in his path than meets the eye.

Reed Acton has one mission and one mission only—he needs to get the map that was accidentally slipped into Trent’s bag and keep the mobsters who want the priceless artefact from taking deadly revenge. Trent Copeland is a delicious and damned near irresistible diversion, but Reed can’t afford distractions right now, especially if he wants to keep Trent safe.

From Bangkok’s seediest back alleys to the sacred north, the two men will fight to stay one step ahead of the bad guys and learn that the only treasure worth finding is… each other.

Sent on a vacation so that he could get his muse back, almost gets him killed instead. To top it off he meets up with one sexy man. I loved how he had no clue if the guy was good or bad, but his heart was leading the way. Or maybe it was another part of his body.
I got a kick out of this story and can’t wait to read the next story. This one hit pretty high up there in points for me.

Italian Ice
♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
In this exciting sequel to Rarer Than Rubies, gay romance author Trent Copeland and former FBI agent Reed Action head to Italy for a Roman holiday. What should be a relaxing and romantic vacation is interrupted when Reed’s not-so-former boss asks for his help with a case. Trent’s shocked to discover in the six months they’ve been living together in LA, Reed hasn’t been completely honest about his “retirement.”

Reed heads for Sicily on the trail of a suspected antiquities-smuggling ring and to find Peter Isett—a former FBI partner he also hasn’t been completely truthful about. Stung by Reed’s dishonesty, Trent questions what else Reed might be hiding. But when he overhears something that tells him Reed’s life is in danger, Trent follows Reed to a remote chain of ancient volcanic islands off Sicily’s northern coast. Soon Trent is caught up in the smugglers’ web, and Reed must decide between his heart and his mission—a decision complicated by his past with Peter. Reed’s position is perilous: unless he can learn to put the past behind him, he risks destroying everything he’s built with Trent.

Maybe the man should trust his partner just a bit more. It seems Trent is pretty damn good at solving the mysteries they come across. Although I still can’t really get into Reed at all. He seems like a total tool to me and not trust worthy.

Other than that this story rocked. I had a lot of fun reading it and look forward to the next book.

Jaded
♥♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
Gay-romance writer Trent Copeland finds his life in a rut while his boyfriend, Special Agent Reed Acton, is away on an undercover mission. After attending a special course at FBI headquarters in Quantico, Trent’s eager for another challenge. He jumps at the opportunity for a trip to Japan to oversee appraisals of two art collections to be sold at the gallery he co-owns. But the trip isn’t all cherry blossoms and Hello Kitty. When one of the collectors he meets—rumored to be the head of a Yakuza gang—turns up dead, Trent is accused of the murder and thrown in jail.

Reed drops everything to help find out who really committed the crime. He’s in unknown territory in Japan, forced to navigate Tokyo’s sex underworld to unravel the truth and save Trent. He poses as a “host” at a seedy late-night club. When Reed’s undercover activities place him at a ruthless Yakuza leader’s sex party, he must be willing to go to any lengths to secure Trent’s safety and freedom. But trusting the wrong people brings both Reed and Trent to the Yakuza leader’s attention. If they are ever to have a happy ever after, they’ll first have to call on every skill just to stay alive.

The only part that I hated about this story and brought it down was when Reed was with Shindo. Even though all that happened was kissing and most of it was because of the danger, that was a no for me and I stopped reading this particular story. It is a pet peeve of mine and I am afraid that this story was knocked down because of it.

24-Karat Conspiracy ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
Former Ranger turned FBI agent Reed Acton faces his biggest challenge yet: a Christmas visit from partner Trent Copeland’s parents. He’s less equipped to handle hugs and holidays than the Taliban or international art thieves. When he’s assigned to track down a set of gold Babylonian artefacts looted from the Iraqi National Museum after the fall of Baghdad, things start to look up.

This time, Trent’s part of the mission, takes them to exotic Istanbul. The crowded streets and labyrinthine markets fascinate Trent, but soon murder is on their trail. The investigation continues as Reed goes undercover at a US Army base, with Trent masquerading as his spouse. Surprisingly, fastidious and ever-fashionable Trent fits into base life right away and soon takes one of the suspects’ wives under his wing when domestic abuse rears its head.

Their faux marriage leads Reed to appreciate Trent in ways he never expected, strengthening their bond—until Reed has to confront the worst demons from his past: his relationship with his estranged family.

This one was the best of all the stories, but that is because of the happy ending. I was so shocked to find out who was the bad guy and who was the ass. This was a pleasant ending to a wonderful collection. I enjoyed reading this and look forward to seeing what other stories this author has out.

Overall ♥♥♥♥♥
I enjoyed reading this complete series all rolled into one nice package. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I have to admit that it is a slower pace then I normally read but for this series it worked out pretty good. I can usually gage where a story is going but I had to just keep on reading because I wanted to know for sure. I enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more from this author.

Review: For a short story of less than 100 pages, this book is action packed. The heartbreaking story of a man just coming into his fame as a controversial artist. At his first big show that is a near sell out a man brutally attacks him blinding him. He loses his eyesight, career, and longtime lover.

In a deep depression, he prays that he would do anything to have his eyesight back. What he thinks is an angel comes to him and he deals to get his sight back, finding himself in a sweet, but scary triangle.

I absolutely loved this story, it was heartbreaking and yet sweet as well. I loved the characters. I couldn’t help but fall for the demon, Tur’el. I would love to read Tur’el and Zethan’s story, hint, hint!

If you like Angels, and Demons, sexy Artist’s, angst, and a beautiful love story then you really must read this!

Review: A refreshing read! This love story has a great plot, action, suspense, plenty of drama and horses. Who could turn that down? The author gives some very interesting insight into the world of American Thoroughbred racing, those who own, those who train, and the excitement, dedication and dark side to racing.

You can really understand Evan’s dedication to his job, the training and care of these magnificent beasts. He seems stand-off-ish, and obviously prefers horses to people, until Wes trots into his life and his barn one fine race day.

Wes has an honest interest in racehorses, but it’s a convenient excuse to pursue his sexual interest in Evan, but taking his time to research and dedicate himself to both is what Wes has in mind. Trouble is Wes has secrets to hide, well, one big secret. His sexuality is hidden by Julia, another costar, actress, and beard. She knows his secret but has been pushing him out of the closet for his best interests and hers.

But it turns out Evan has secrets too. His past career in Hollywood is riddled with dark secrets, abuse, advantage, and it left him hollow and bitter. Thankfully, he found refuge in horses, training, and the privacy of his farm. He was done with Hollywood, and didn’t want to let Wes into his bed let alone his heart.

We see both men fighting their loyalties, their commitments, their pasts and their relationships with friends and lovers to give their, Wes and Evan’s, relationship a try. Wes holds off on intimacy, to give Evan time to end an abusive relationship, and Evan understands of Wes’ fears of bringing their relationship out into the open, living outside his closet.

Throughout the story plenty of suspense develops, including a plot involving Evans’ horses, his training career and trouble his ex has gotten himself into. Tragedy strikes and it seems to spell and end to both the men’s hope for their relationship and both of their careers. Can both be salvaged? What is truly behind Gray’s machinations?

This is a great read! I found details about training and racing horses very interesting and striking me as very truthful. I had horses since childhood and I’ve heard and seen many racing horror stories. It was pleasant to see the author shine a positive light on Evan and his training practices.

A highly recommended read!
