Ryan’s Wizard
(Paws and Magic 02)
by
Beany Sparks
An alpha ends up with more than he bargained for when he finds his mate…his wizard mate.
After years of no contact, Oliver “Olly” Grey was finally able to reunite with his cousin Aiden. He’s surprised to find that Aiden now has a mate—a male, shifter mate—named Lex. And it’s Lex’s pack mates that Olly is there to help save. What he hadn’t expected was Lex’s brother Ryan.
Ryan Shepherd was happy to have found his brother Lex, and even happier to know that his brother was happily mated. But there is something about Aiden’s cousin Olly that Ryan doesn’t trust, especially when he also smells like the man currently holding his pack members captive. Yet that doesn’t stop Ryan from wanting to hold and comfort the man, and eventually he realizes why—Olly is his mate.
Now the four of them need to plan a rescue mission, but what happens when they run into the two men that had held Lex captive and those same men come to the cabin in the middle of the night?
TITLE: A Fine Bromance AUTHOR: Roland Graeme GENRE: Contemporary LENGTH: Novella (98 pages) PUBLISHER: Extasy Books (September 7th, 2014) HEAT LEVEL: Explicit HEART RATING: ♥♥♥3Hearts BLURB: Two handsome, sexy brothers discover that they can only hide their homosexuality from each other for so long.
Tomasz is determined to keep his homosexual experimentations a secret from his older brother, Krzysztof – especially after Krzysztof teases Tomasz about having a bromance with his buddy, Billy. How would Krzysztof react if he knew his kid brother and Billy were lovers?
Matters become more complicated when Tomasz discovers that he isn’t the only member of the family who seems to prefer the company of men to that of women. Krzysztof seems to have a bromance of his own going on with a very macho cop – and a little sleuthing on Tomasz’s part confirms his suspicion that the two men are very much more than just friends.
PRODUCT LINK: http://www.extasybooks.com/roland-graeme/a-fine-bromance/ REVIEWER: Prime REVIEW: Tomasz Juroszek lives with his older brother, Krzysztof. They were orphaned at a young age and raised by an uncle. Tomasz has a friends-with-benefits arrangement between himself and his friend, Billy. And these two have some pretty hot sex!
After some hot sex with Billy one afternoon, Tomasz returns home to discover his older brother has a visitor. A very sexy cop called Leonardo Montegrappa (aka Nardo). From here, the book isn’t actually a romantic story, but a story of two brothers coming out to each other and trying to find balance in their lives.
The story set is certainly different. I am having trouble trying to work out what I think about it. We see the start of a romance between Krzysztof and Nardo, but through the eyes of Tomasz. When I say this, Tomasz figures out that his brother is gay and not only does he finds evidence he sets out to find out more when Nardo comes over for dinner.
Despite Tomasz and Billy being a rather fledgling relationship trapped somewhere between romance and friendship, there isn’t any actual story of their time together. This leads me to my next point, Tomasz as a character confuses me, even when he is asked right out, he says he doesn’t have a boyfriends. Okay, so he and Billy have a friends-with-benefits arrangement, but he had the opportunity to admit to everything and he says nothing.
I think that Tomasz’s story really wasn’t done justice. It’s that or Tomasz is just a pain and I prefer the character of Krzysztof. In saying that, I really enjoyed the beginning of the romance between Krzysztof and Nardo and these two also had some really hot sex. In fact, it would have been good if the entire story were longer, to give both brothers a bit more. The story didn’t have a conventional happily ever after. This would be fine except that the stories for both brothers didn’t feel quite complete.
However, in saying all that, I think it’s an amusing look at the interaction between siblings. The sneaking and spying and fishing for info is exactly the way between siblings no matter what the context. I think this is an interesting (and cool) view into two brothers who are both are too afraid to come out to each other. So in extension to that this is also a coming of age story. If you are expecting a romance, you won’t get it.
But if you just want a story about life and coming to terms with coming out, this is could well prove an enjoyable read.
Blurb: On the Road: We always find what we’re looking for in the last place we look.
At nearly three centuries old, Diego Tamang decides to take a more proactive approach to finding his mate. He walks away from leading his pack, so he can travel with Kontra Belikov and his shifter motorcycle gang. His decision pays off when he walks into a backwater town’s diner and scents his mate, Zachary Young.
Quickly making his intentions clear, Diego wonders what will be harder to overcome—Zachary’s young age, or his mother’s clearly displeased attitude. It turns out, neither, for soon Diego discovers that witches may have caused Zachary’s injury, which forces him to use a cane…and Zachary doesn’t know he’s a shifter.
Can Diego ease his young lover into the paranormal world while keeping him safe from those that would do him harm?
Review: This was an amazing story. Each book in the Kontra’s Menagerie Series focuses on a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, we recommend reading the series in sequential order. It keeps me from getting a bit lost in the stories and gives me an insight in to their world. A world that captured my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I love the way each character just mixes with the others. How fast they are to defend what is theirs and what they believe.
Charlie always gives me a wonderful book to read when times are getting hard to deal with. She always has beautifully created characters that have a way to suck you right in. You can tell that she puts all her heart in to her stories.
Diego was over three hundred years old and had wanted his mate for a very long time. He had even gotten married once, had children and grand children. He had not expected to find his mate in the diner on the way to search for others. He had left his pack to run with Kontra and his men. They were all gay and had decided to turn their pack into a refuge type. When he finds Zachary, he is surprised to find out that Zachary is a shifter. Too bad Zachary had no clue.
Zachary was just sitting at the diner with his mother when he met the sexiest man ever. After agreeing to a date, he has to let his mother down with the knowledge that he was not going to change like she wants. He had started having what he had originally thought were seizures and a bad leg when he was a teenager.
Now thanks to Diego’s pack he has found out not only about shifters, but also that the medicine he had been taking was suppressing his change. He was finding out quite a bit about the magical world and shifters.
When these two get together, you can just tell by the way they glance at each other that they are going to be hot. This story gives you everything you could want in a hot love story with angst, anger, betrayal, deadly witches, kinky situations, feisty mates, strong alpha’s, passionate glances, tantalizing sex, dangerous situations and not to mention two very sexy men.
I loved this book and cannot wait to get the next book. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I love the way even with a serious tone it has quite a bit of humor in it.
I would recommend reading this book. It will give you all that you asked for and so much more. Charlie has an amazing gift that will draw you in and make you wish for more.

Review: Miles Diamond and his pals are back for the conclusion of the Case of the Missing Twin. It’s a nonstop action packed ride. As usual, Miles gets his self into some embarrassing situations and has to be rescued.
Adventurous, dangerous and action packed. This story gives the reader a highly favorable ending that has lots of hot sex and dealings with bad people.

Funny yet adventurous story of Miles Diamond and his escapades.

Blurb: When Max and Charlie meet, neither man is in any position to begin a new relationship. Sometimes, however, the only solution is to break all the rules.
The man Max loved has become a hopeless alcoholic. The man Charlie trusted has left him bankrupt and homeless. When they meet, neither man is in any position to start a relationship, but there are times when the only solution is to break all the rules.
Review: This is book three in this series and normally I think it would be better to start with book one. However, with these books they can be read as stand-alone. It was a cute little short story but to short for me to really enjoy. I want to read more about Max and Charlie. They seem to be so far apart in certain parts of their lives, but you come to realize that they have so much more going for them.
Max’s ex-boyfriend and current roommate had griped about the fact that all their landscape workers were not there. Max had informed him that it was because of Ray himself. So he had gone looking for someone to take over the work and came across Charlie. Ray was the man who Max had loved at one time, now he was a mean drunk.
Whereas Charlie had been a man let down by his friend and coworker. He had lost everything including his home and he had been bankrupt. Only looking for work, he ended up finding someone who could make him see the stars. Neither man is in the position to start something but it seems like life has a way of starting it for you.
I felt so bad for these two men, to have lost so much but have the ability to still love. Max’s ex is a total jerk and so was Charlie’s. One man had been living the dream as the other had lost his. It tears you up inside to see that this happens. You feel so much for these two very sexy men and hope that they will reach for each other. I would like to read more about these two men. I loved the story but it was too short to fully enjoy the way it should. It is an easy to story to read on a break, or right before bedtime.
I would recommend reading it. It gives you sexy men, hot and passionate sex, mean drunks, and the backbone to stand up for what you believe.
Title: Ashen Moon Series: N/A Author: Esra Blu Genre: Gay Erotic Romance/ Horror/ Paranormal/ Vampires Length: Novel (190 Pages) ISBN: 978-1-77111-862-0 Publisher: Extasy Books (May 1, 2014) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥2.5Hearts Reviewer: Lisa Blurb: An archeology student and the handsome vampire he resurrects in the Texas desert explore the moral and passionate possibilities of a life together.
When a century-old map leads archeology student Matt Collins to the burial mound of the legendary Bloody Man in the Texas desert, he unwittingly unearths not the grave of a serial killer as he expected but a real life monster. Ashe Pankhurst is grateful and smitten with the young man who’s saved him from a waking nightmare and offers him eternal life. Matt soon finds himself under the seductive influence of the vampire. He is tempted to accept Ashe’s offer only to find that his choice has been settled by fate. Purchase Link: http://www.extasybooks.com/ashen-moon/ Review: This story was not quite what I expected. I am not really sure if I even liked it. I suppose some parts of it caught me and kept me, but at first, I thought about the romance these two men had but the fact that they had more sexual conquest then each other left me cold. It also showed me a side of the vampire that I did not really like at all. I can see them having to take blood from those but the story itself was just too dark.
Matt was an archeology student and had grown up on a story that came down from way in his family line. It was of a man who was called Bloody Man. He was told that the man left them cursed, the land would die, and there were more deaths in and out of the family, miscarriages, and just normal lore. So after finding a map that his grandfather had, he had to look. What he found was a grave with a man in it that didn’t quite look like a dead man should. Then the man’s eyes opened and so did his mouth. The fangs showed exactly what Matt had let out. Then the teeth were in his throat.
Ashe had not known what Matt’s family had told him about him. He was not exactly what they expected, he was a vampire though. He wanted Matt and would do everything and anything in his power for him. Including leaving him, that is until Matt called needing him back. After a deadly accident Ashe had to turn him, with is Matt’s mother telling Ashe he had to do it. She regretted it after learning what it truly meant. Ashe knew that if they were not careful Matt would turn into the monster that they were called.
Matt loved Ashe, but he felt that it was like a drug calling for him. He needed him and he knew the dangers that would happen for them. He had to learn what Ashe obviously knew deep down in his heart. Things were going to change and it might not be for the good.
Like I said I am not really sure if I liked it or not. It was in the present but it would switch back into the past letting you know how Ashe became like he was.
The part I really couldn’t stand was the fact that there were a lot of sexual scenes with women. That just made it depressing for me. Had they just stayed with attacking and drinking from men then it might have been different. But, that is just me. It was told with a flare and had a twist that many would like though. It was written really well, just not for me.
Title: Drawing Out His Wolf Series: Wolves of Stone Ridge, #25 Author: Charlie Richards Genre: Paranormal/ Shape-Shifter Length: Novella (122 Pages) ISBN: 978-1-4874-0062-0 Publisher: Extasy Books (September 21, 2014) Heat Level: Moderate Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥5Hearts Reviewer: Lisa Blurb: On the Road: In order to come home, first you must leave it.
Deke Sommers knows staying with his boyfriend is a bad idea. Michael enjoys ménages just a little too much and often tries to get Deke to share someone with him. Deke is not interested. He gives Michael permission to occasionally enjoy them on his own as long as he’s safe and honest about it. Unfortunately, that’s not enough for Michael, and he surprises Deke by inviting a couple of friends to his apartment to play with him.
Deke does the only thing he can…he flees. Calling up his life-long friend, Dirk, who is traveling with his vampire lover, Deke asks for help. Dirk tells him to meet him in Stone Ridge. There, Deke once again sees Luther Caldwell, a wolf shifter he met over lunch in Las Vegas months ago and hasn’t been able to get out of his mind since. Except, Luther is straight, or in the closet, isn’t he?
When Luther is neither shy nor reticent upon their meeting, claiming they are mates, can Deke trust another dominant male?
Review: This is book twenty-five in this series and they need to be read in order. The characters for each story will be talked about just a bit in previous books. It also gives you an insight into their amazing world and lives. A world that you will find yourself captivated in. A world that I found myself wishing I were living in. How they stand up for each other and protect the ones that are not as strong as the alpha is.
The characters all come off as wonderful men that you would want to stand besides. Most of the shifters all come off as dominate but the mates are cared for. Although in a couple of books it is in fact the human mates that are the dominate ones.
Deke had just come out of an abusive situation. In fact, he downright fled to safety. His boyfriend was in to ménages and he was not. He had done some, but actually hated it. However his boyfriend hadn’t taken no for an answer and Deke ran. After contacting his friend, he headed to Stone Ridge.
Where he came across a man that he had not been able to get out of his mind the last time they had met.Luther was one sexy man, and Deke wasn’t too sure if he was straight or not. Luther had said that he had a daughter and had run for the hills.
Luther was a dominate shifter and afraid of what his daughter would say if she found out that he had a male mate. When the dangers come for Deke, Luther knew he would do anything to protect his mate.
I love this story, but then again when Charlie puts out a book, I am usually the first one to grab it. She gives you characters that will have you falling in love. This story has a serious tone to it, but it does have a bit of humor to it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I would recommend reading this, if you love sexy men, strong shifters, gorgeous humans, excitement, a bit of adventure and dangerous situations.

He will do anything to save him since Rupert is all he has, even if it means selling himself to the sexy vet.
Lynton is a good man at heart and a great vet. He loves his patients and it kills his soul to have to euthanize them when clients can pay. He is also extremely lonely. But, something about Austin tears at his need and loneliness. When Austin offers himself up for payment, can Lynton stick to his guns and be a good man or will his loneliness make him do something he may regret?
I loved this book. There is a lot of angst and the way it goes back and forth between Austin and Lynton’s feelings is like watching a fast-paced tennis or volleyball match. I sat on the end of my seat to see how this one ended!
If you like, Scarlet Blackwell, angsty stories, vets, and men down on their luck, dogs, cats and a very hot, steamy romance this is for you!

Review:This is book nineteen in this series and they don’t need to be read in order. Of course, if you do, it will give you an idea on who all the characters are and what their lives are about past and present. It also gives you a glimpse into their amazing world. A world that you will find yourself sinking into and driving all your troubles out of your mind. It caught my attention from the moment I opened the book and kept it all the way to the end.
Charlie Richards is one of my top favorite authors and I cannot wait to get my hands on all of her future books. I have to admit that I have probably read all of the books probably a dozen times or so and this one is no different.
I love the way Tyson just comes across. He is so tender, sweet, and loving. He is also attracted to Logan, a shifter who is a bit of a homophobe. So when he sees him once again at a club he is shocked with Logan’s attitude change.
Logan has given everyone a hassle over that fact that they all loved men. If he had to admit it, so does he. But, he never took it to the next stage. So wasn’t he shocked to find out that fate gave him a male mate? A mate that could not give him children. He had decided to find a woman and mate with her, well that was until he saw Tyson at the club heading to the bathroom with a redhead. His wolf was in control now. He finds out though that he is falling for his mate, which is a great thing for them both. He also realizes that the sex is hot and full of passion.
I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. It gives you everything you would want in a book. It gives you sexy men, hot shifters, quirky mates, excitement, adventure, the love of a mate and men that will do everything in their power to love their men. It actually gives you that and so much more. It will captivate you the way the their worlds just seem to mix and mingle, the love that they have for each other, their protective streak and their jealous streak, the strength that they have to keep their people safe.
I would recommend reading this book and the others because once you start you won’t be able to stop.

Sparks fly, and Caleb’s sexuality begins to bloom, pushing him head over heels in love with the world-wise Gabriel.
Can he keep his new love secret from his Pack, or will they force him to choose between the life he’s always known and the life he could have with Gabriel?
Review: This is the start to this series and trust me, you will want to start with this story. At first, I can honestly tell you that I didn’t like it as much as I might have, but once I got past part of it, the story started turning really hot. When you read the first book, it gives you an insight into their lives and the reason they are the way they are. It also shows you part of their amazing world.
This is the first book I have read by this author and I can tell you that I am amazed. When you love one way then find out that it wasn’t really love but just lust. Because when you find that special person that draws you in and makes you feel more than you have ever felt before, then you know what it is like to love.
Caleb was three years old when his mother left him with his uncle. She had left his uncle a bit of knowledge into what Caleb would be going through in his future. Too bad, he himself had not been told. So on his thirteenth birthday he learns the truth, the truth is he was a werewolf. It had bound him to Tara from that moment on until the time came when it wasn’t enough. He was trying his hardest to lead a pack after the pack alpha passed away, but he had so many things to learn.
The betrayal of his friends was in part but the other was the fact that he was falling in love with a vampire. Wolves and vampires were not friends. In fact, the wolves were killing vampires left and right. However, Gabriel made him feel things that he had never felt before.
Gabriel was a vampire who didn’t really know the reason for all of the hatred. He had been changed over close to eight hundred years ago and he had seen a lot. He did know he wanted Caleb no matter what. He knew that if it was found out that Caleb would lose his pack and he was willing to do what he could to help Caleb even if it meant hiding their relationship.
But Tara betrayed Caleb and told the pack. Told them that not only was Caleb gay but his lover was a vampire. The danger, pain, and anger that this brought out was extreme. The twist to this story made me wanting more. It also left me angry and hanging.
I was angry about the way it ended, but I know that book two will give me some of what was taken back. Or at least I hope so because it would be the worst ending I had ever came across. For someone so young to have to go through not only finding out he was a werewolf, but that he had spent most of his teen years and so later with a female, only to find out sometime later that he like men then to come across such hatred for someone just because of what they were, must be hell on earth.
However, in all sense this was an amazing book. It gives you two very sexy men, an angry female, excitement, adventure, action, anger, enemies, hero’s, passion and fire, hot sex and betrayal. It gives you that and so much more.
I would recommend reading this book because it will draw you in and keep you captivated. I can’t wait to get my hands on book two.

Review: With Prixia destroyed, Drake and Vernon along with the help of their allies set a dangerous plan in motion that will hopefully tip the balance of the war against the Herdsmen in their favor. They hope a weapon called Solar Sound Tunnel, will be able to destroy the Citadels of Justice. First, they must slip aboard a Citadel of Justice without detection.
After seeing another gateway almost finished, they set a plan in motion where some are captured so the others can slip aboard unnoticed. While on board the Citadel of Justice, they learn that Forgen has been gathering his forces for years in an attempt to commandeer a citadel and to help the spiders and mammals in the war. With the capture of a Citadel of Justice, they all get ready to battle the Herdsmen with the Solar Sound Tunnel in place. Vernon goes into labor during the final battle. Well written book. A lot of hot intimate scenes between Drake and Vernon as well as a threesome with Sern and a group scene with Jankin, Braken, Vern, Drake and Vernon.
Stunning details of the Citadel of Justice destroying ships and exactly what the Solar Sound Tunnel can do. Great read.

Each book in the Venomous Mates Series focuses on a different romantic couple.
There are many books out there with so many different types of shifters, but this one is has a quite a bit of a twist. I love the way there are snakes, spiders, ants, and scorpions. Deadly creatures, even more dangerous since the toxic’s are now air born. Many have been changed physically from the toxins. Boone has known from the moment he set his eyes on the anti-venom that they were mates. Now getting Julius to trust him and let him in might be the hardest part of it all. He finally lets him know about his past and how the reason he sticks so close is because of a previous danger. He is letting Julius get to know him and his heart.
Julius is an anti-venom, where as Boone is a venom. Boone is a spider and at first he creeped him out quite a bit. However, he is realizing he is falling for the crazy spider. Now if they can come out of the battle’s that seem to keep on hitting alive, then maybe they can find a life for them to have. A life that includes the love they have for each other.
This story has a touch of humor to it even though I am not sure that was what Jackie was intending. I love the way it came off to me though. The only thing I wish was it was longer. It just flows off the pages. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading all the way to the end. I loved it and cannot wait to read book four. It gave me everything I could ask for in a story. It gave me sexy men, shifters, excitement, dangerous situation, deadly enemies, and twists to the story. It gave me that and so much more. I would recommend reading it, you won’t be disappointed.

After seventeen years in captivity, Caladon O’Hara is freed from his cage by gargoyles. His rescuers take him to their manor, give him a safe place to recuperate, and set him up with a new identity, Caladon Wykert. They also aid Caladon in tracking down information about his son, Taolma. Upon seeing a picture of his son’s face after so long, Caladon goes into mild shock, overwhelmed at seeing him as an adult for the first time.

When he spots Caladon through a doorway, he’s quickly smitten by the tall, handsome shifter. Still, Leroy keeps his distance. He’d tried dating an African-American once before, and due to his family’s bigotry, it hadn’t turned out so well.
When Caladon suffers a shock, Leroy is called to help. His mere presence yanks Caladon out of his stupor, only for the shifter to declare they are mates. Leroy is unable to resist the siren call of the mate-pull, and he agrees to a date. He quickly discovers that his family isn’t the only complication…because at the time of Caladon’s kidnapping, he was still married. Mates or not, Leroy refuses to get involved with a married man.

Caladon was a boa shifters without a home. Several years ago, he had been abducted leaving behind a wife and two-year-old son. Now saved, he was living among humans, gargoyles, and shifters. However, he always missed his son Taolma.
Finding out that his son was a live, shocked him so much that Leroy was called into check him out. Leroy was a nurse and when he had first seen Caladon in human form he was in lust. Quite a different change from the first time he saw him in his shifter form. A twenty-foot boa would frighten most people. He wanted Caladon but he was afraid. His family had a problem with him being gay, but they would give him trouble for being in love with a black man.
Caladon would do everything in his powers to keep his mate and it would seem his mate would do the same for him. This is a cute story that I absolutely loved. Charlie always gives you characters that come off as someone you would want to meet and hang with. She would give you men that you would fall in love with. This story will capture your attention from the moment you start reading it and will keep it all the way to the end. I loved the way it just flows off the pages.
This is a world that I would love to be in. I would recommend reading this story because it gives you not only two sexy men, a boa shifter but also excitement, passion, quirky friends and a touch of danger.
Blurb: Whoever said business and pleasure don’t mix has never been to New Orleans.
Chad Curtiss, a thirty-five year old private equity investor, is a ruthless businessman. He believes it’s a dog-eat-dog world and doesn’t understand people not driven by the desire to acquire their own happiness. Life’s about personal responsibility and making the right choices.
Chad travels to New Orleans on occasion for business and while there, he likes to visit The Men’s Room. The hottest gay club in the city has the hunkiest dancers, the cutest bartenders and the kind of service a man like Chad knows he deserves. While at the bar, he runs into young Richard Foster, a desk clerk from the hotel where he’s staying. He has no intention of becoming involved, but there’s something about the kid Chad can’t dismiss, and that something just might change his entire outlook on life.
Review: The plot was predictable, but the temporary escape both men provided for each other, all hot and steamy, was a lot of fun. We’ve seen this primetime movie before, bedraggled do-gooder meets handsome prince, well handsome business shark, and even though he tries not to, falls head over ankles on shoulders.
Chad is the perfect bad guy we love to hate, and hate to lust after, but the fireworks between he and Richard are hot and fast.
Richard is getting walked on by everyone in his life from his slutty ex to his boss, and all he’s trying to do is hold it together for his family, save his sister’s life, and hopefully keep his job.
When all the cards come tumbling down and his mother loses her job, Richard has to walk out on his, and his sister’s surgery might not happen, he discovers the person behind the curtain is the sexy executive Richard didn’t even want to fall for.
Can Richard and Chad possibly salvage what has just started to bloom between them? Yes, there is a predictable, but aw shucks, kind of ending. This is a romance after all, can’t have a sad ending right. So all’s well that ends well. Predictable, but it is what it is, hot sexy fun for a short time.
