Blurb: One man is searching for his past, the other needs to find his future.

Johnny Lee Paradise, owner of the Savannah blues club, Risqué Blue, and Prieste V. Beaumont, an L.A. film producer, live different lives on opposite sides of the country. Both are alone, both hide secret desires and haunting fears. One spring night, as a fluke snowstorm blankets Savannah, with a turn of the tarot card Madam Fate changes the destiny for both of these men.

Prieste is looking for his long-lost stepsister; Johnny is looking for a night’s sexy diversion, when Prieste arrives late one night at the Risqué Blue. Amidst the magic of Savannah, tragic ghosts of the past, Prieste’s search for closure, and Johnny’s newfound taste for passionate submission–and a good erotic spanking provided by the more dominant Prieste–will love find a way to save these two men from the unhappy chains of the past? Or will their fears part them forever? In Savannah, at the Risqué Blue, anything is possible, even perhaps, finding lasting and healing love.

Review: I love mystery, and a mysterious atmosphere. The city of Savannah is the perfect setting for this bluesy, succulent story, very film noir in its beginning. The author does an excellent job of setting the mood, stormy weather, blues singers, and nightclubs.

While this is a BDSM or D/s story, that content is kind of poured in nice and slow like a sip of good whisky down your throat, it burns hot, and fans the flames between Prieste and Johnny. By the end of the story, the D/s knocks these two into a sexual haze. It’s fun to read through all the small vignettes in this book from the old-time movie theaters, ghosts, and the hole-in-the wall nightclubs complete with absinthe and secrecy. Even the support characters in this story kept my rapt attention, especially Christella, my heart poured out for her.

I’m also very curious about the “adoptive family” that rescued Prieste. His sister sure is interesting. I find myself wanting to know about the self-made family that he’s part of. I’m sure it’s a family full of characters that will feed new stories in what I hope will become a series!

If you like your kinks with a bit of domination, and a good mysterious story, this a great read, you won’t be disappointed.

Blurb: Brad “Frat Boy” Feller and Sebastian “Toppy” DeWitt have been together for nine months, and their relationship is as hot as ever. The only cloud Brad sees on their horizon is Sebastian’s stress over his thesis. And their uncertain future together after graduation. And how Sebastian sometimes takes Brad for granted. And Sebastian’s unwillingness to introduce Brad to his father.

Other than that, everything’s awesome.

All of Sebastian’s energy is currently devoted to his thesis, and getting into a top-notch PhD program. Fortunately, his boyfriend takes care of all the domestic stuff and Sebastian’s needs. Any minor strain between them will disappear and they’ll return to the status quo after Sebastian graduates. As long as nothing upsets their delicate balance in the meantime.

Then a friend Brad once had a small fling with is forced to take refuge with them, and Frat Boy and Toppy’s delicate balance topples like an elephant on a water ski. Now Sebastian has to face some truths about how he’s been treating Brad, what he wants for their future, and what he has to do to get it.

Review: Remember the fire at the TAG house? Remember how Collin needed a place to stay and Brad offered to house him for the night? Yeah, that’s the point in time of the Theta Alpha Gamma Universe where this story picks up.

Sebastian has been a non-entity lately, obsessed with his thesis he managed to royally screw up things between him and Brad. Neglecting his lover yes, but even worse not even realizing he was doing it, until Collin showed up and his irritation joined by a healthy dose of jealousy caused a scene. Still he didn’t realize he was on the down road, but things started falling back in place, the little puzzle pieces making more sense when Brad went to his depression routine of baking cookies…

Yeah, Brad was in a place where his entire relationship with Sebastian seemed to be going nowhere. He felt not only neglected, but in limbo, not knowing what the future might bring. Thinking hard of what to do and how to phrase it so he’d make himself understood the last thing Brad expected was to be confronted when in this process. But Sebastian’s wary look of uncertainty made him jump to action and lay everything out and bare, risking this limbo state they were in for a chance to make things work… or not.

This novella was pretty fast and it cured me from wondering what the heck happened after Collin left Brad’s place. Honest confession, I really dislike Sebastian, or at least I did for most of the read. I think the feeling that he’s a total jerk still hasn’t left me and the fact that Brad didn’t make him squirm from that unacceptable attitude has me uncomfortable. I just felt pissed beyond my norm with Sebastian’s feeling of entitlement when it came to Brad. Yes, as the story progressed Sebastian had lots of inner talking and enlightenment, understanding where he lacked and even finding the reasons behind his behavior – which I must say made perfect sense – but really, that dinner scene went without revenge damn it. (Rant over.) As for Brad himself as a character, I just love him. It is amazing reading about him outside of his relationship, interacting with his friends, and then seeing him with Sebastian. The change is so dramatic, makes me simply adore this character.

Other than that, the book is fairly erotic. The D/s relationship and how it changed, the solidifying if you will, were nicely described. Tenino’s talent at writing some seriously hot and sensual love scenes is undeniable, I loved every single one of them and the way they affected each previous and following event. It was so easy to get lost in this couple’s passion and lifestyle, nothing felt out-of-place (except at the beginning) and it made for a very, very enjoyable read.

If I have some hang up, they are mostly due to the plot and ending. It was so short for me and I kept expecting the meeting with Daddy to take place. Perhaps that’s something for the future but I felt cheated somehow that that wasn’t totally solved in this book.

Overall, if you’re a fan of this series, I suppose you already have a copy of this book, for me it was a lovely addition. If you haven’t read any of the books though, this is a lovely D/s based story that in my opinion could easily be read as a standalone, and is highly enjoyable. Recommended!

Blurb: For Mike and Will, “No Flag” meant, “come home alive,” but will their love survive what happens next?

Captain Mike Kelley does not ignore his intuition, so when sexy bartender Will Hayes captures his heart, Mike embarks on a mission to win him over to a Domestic Discipline relationship. Will accepts with one caveat: Mike must promise not to renew his Army contract. Mike agrees, and they spend a year building a life together, getting married, and starting a business.

Only days before their café’s grand opening, Mike receives news that threatens everything he and Will have built. The Army invokes the Stop Loss military policy to involuntarily extend his commission and send him back overseas. Will, left alone to cope with the café, must rely on the support of old friends who may no longer be trustworthy. Through emails and Skype calls, Mike and Will keep their love and structure alive…until the day a horrific terrorist attack occurs on Mike’s outpost.

Mike awakens in a hospital with a devastating injury and no memory of the attack. As the only survivor, Mike’s memory may be the key to national security. Mike struggles to cope with his injury and Will struggles to support the man who always held him up. Both fear they have lost their previous relationship. Will has Mike back rather than a folded flag, but in the aftermath of war, can they rebuild the life they had before? Especially when those closest to them may not have their best interests at heart?

Review: I’m an avid reader of stories and romances with BDSM content. And what I’m usually drawn to in that is the D/s elements. SO, I found this story of bartender meets military officer fascinating. It contains not only a dominating, totally lovingly controlling soldier with OCD, and an otherwise independent spirit waiting to be harnessed by love.

Captain Mike Kelley picks up Will in a bar and later takes him home, but from there the predictable outcome takes a diversion. The friendship lasts months before Mike drops the Domestic Discipline issue on Will. And even after dealing with his no intimacy before relationships and crazy OCD tendencies, Will is intrigued and interested enough to do his homework. What he finds is that he’s drawn to this mutual contract, drawn to having Mike order his life, lovingly and respectfully of course. His only hang-up is his discomfort for the military and Mike’s career risking their relationship, risking Mike’s life. His one and only hang-up is to make sure that at the end of the two months left of Mike’s enlisted period that he’s done, he does not reenlist. Mike agrees and their DD relationship seems to work for both of them. Will is making improvements in his own life, working towards education and career goals with Mike’s direction and discipline and Mike is even loosening up his tight OCD, a tiny bit.

All seems to be going great, they are making commitments, heading into marriage, looking forward to opening a business together and the military drops the bomb. A nuclear bomb for their relationship in the form of Stop Loss.

Can Will handle the devastating distance, the fear his husband won’t come home alive, the lack of the control he so trustingly handed over to Mike? The distance is hard enough, but opening a new business alone, classes, and keeping the discipline Mike has ordered send Will to the breaking point. While glued to the pages I kept cheering them both on, they could do this, hard as it may be, only a year with Skype and text to keep them connected. But when Mike is near fatally injured and loses his arm, I feared the worst looking down that road. I really wondered if Mike could keep such an important part of himself, control, dominant tendencies, care for Will, when he faced such traumatic loss and psychological damage.

But this story surprised me, made me take a closer look at my own marriage, my own close friends and other influencing relationships. I’ll be honest the only time I’ve heard of something like Domestic Discipline is from heterosexual religious extremists using marriage contracts and texts from the Bible to keep man as head of house second only to God. So I was leery, but after Liz spun this tale for me, I saw the attraction among loving and respectful partners. I’m fascinated and warmed by this story. It really is full of hope, encouragement, and respect. Kudos Liz Borino…time for me to look up your backlist!

Blurb: Isaac prefers to keep the D/s part of his relationship with Tom strictly private. One day, however, he reads about a non-commercial BDSM club with a playroom for hire…

Committed couple Isaac and Tom have recently discovered they want to explore BDSM, and especially D/s, as part of their committed relationship. There are still doubts and questions, but Isaac knows how to wield his favourite cane for his submissive’s painful pleasure.

S&M is also a very private thing for the otherwise out and open pair.

That is, until Isaac reads an article about a non-commercial BDSM club. He meets one of the volunteers, who shows him the playroom. He’s impressed by what he sees and decides to give his beloved sub a very special treat.

Their experiences with D/s during the months since Tom first said, “I want you to tell me what to do,” have left a deep and positive impression on both men. One day, Isaac takes a decision that he knows will influence the rest of his life with Tom.

Review:  The third offering from S. Dora Calling The Shot’s series rings very true with two working class individuals exploring not only their new May September relationship but also how to provide for each partners emotional needs.  One often finds romances that gloss over the thoughts that newfound Dominants experience; however, Becoming Sir managed to hit the highlights nicely.

I applaud the writing style of S. Dora and the realism of the characters.  Though at times there were points of the BDSM lifestyle that seemed to be crammed into the short space of the story.  In point of fact my only chief complaint would be that it could have gone further and been taken into the novel arena.  Overall, a solid 3 stars for Becoming Sir. ~;p

Review: A spoon full of sugar…

K. C. Wells has crossed over from penning the latest edition in an erotic popcorn serial to a literary erotic classic with the second installment of Collars and Cuffs: Trusting Thomas. This is a training story. While you are enjoying reading about Thomas and Peter and Alex and Leo… you are going to learn more than a little about the D/s lifestyle and how things should and should not be with and between a Dominant and a submissive.

Trusting Thomas is about truths and misconceptions. Predators versus Dominants. The issue of love in a D/s relationship. Or the issues of age in love… or being in love at any age. But most importantly, Wells has given us a tale about healing through trust, friendship, and patience.

Peter has a hard time reconciling what he had read as rules and what he had lived as rule of thumb for the last four years. How can he tell Thomas that after finally finding where he fit in… like a scene from Nature Channel – his 1st night out in the hot new leather-bound world… the Big Bad Wolf got to him first.

And the rules were saying that BOTH parties involved had responsibilities. What happens when BDSM became abusive? The thought had never crossed Peter’s mind. The Big Bad Wolf was his master.

I have two issues (that I am beginning to believe are common among MM erotica writers in general) that keep Trusting Thomas from attaining the big 5 star status of PERFECTION. 1. The disuse of condoms – because the word virgin is used (which has so far seems to mean technically not physically by only one of the partners). 2.  The deep pockets of every Dominant. Time was you could tell all the real manly men by their names – Dick Dickly and the real women by theirs – Pussy Galore. Nowadays any real erotica Dominant worth their stare has a House, a car and/or a car service and a hefty BANK ACCOUNT! At least enough to support themselves and the care and feeding of one or more submissives.

Trusting Thomas should be included in all D/s libraries next to Screw The Roses Send Me The Thorns, The MarketPlace Series, SM 101 and a few others! But also and more importantly, this is a covert training guide.

I absolutely loved Trusting Thomas, the second installment in K.C. Wells’ Collars and Cuffs series. By the end of the first chapter, I was ready, properly primed to follow the secondary reading instructions provided by the writer. Hey, while you are reading Trusting Thomas, what are you suppose to be doing? That’s right. Read on. And I did! Twice!!! (I’m such a good Domme. LOL)  1st rule for a Dom/me: Control. 2nd rule:  Do not break your toys.

Blurb: From her perch on a shelf above my bed, the doll accuses me with lifeless eyes of failing Juliette in the most heinous way imaginable, forcing me to crave the bite of his whip and the steel in his voice to drown out the ache in my chest.

For his entire life, Benjamin Martin’s parents drilled into his head that he must watch out for his little sister, but one horrific night, he failed. Now, the bite of a whip, cuffs digging into his wrists, his arms and legs stretched beyond endurance, these things give him what he needs to forget his sister’s violent death, at least for a while.

When Ben’s latest Dom casts him aside like a broken toy, he manipulates his best friend, Jude Archer, into picking up the pieces. Jude has been in love with Ben for years, but his fantasies about his friend never included whipping him. He doesn’t understand why Ben needs BDSM and he worries about Ben’s addiction. Most of all, he fears losing his humanity because he’s already lost himself in Ben. When he’s forced to trade the marks upon his soul for the pain that ravages Ben, Jude learns the real definition of submission.

Review: So, I’m opening the pages of this book and start reading. I know it is BDSM themed and I expect it. The blurb indicates as much, as it also indicated that we would deal with characters that are “broken,” hence the Survivor Stories. But when I say I was surprised from this read not only is that a freaking huge understatement, but it doesn’t come nearly enough of what I felt while reading this book. I’m going to give it a shot though to pass my thoughts as eloquently as possible.

I’ll start with the kink factor here. I’ve read BDSM-y books, many of them. They are after all among my favorite genre. However, it is so rare to read a book that involves kink and that will utterly captivate you like this one did. You don’t need to have the same kinks these characters had in order to feel the sensuality, the intensity, the hotness of the scenes described here deeply in your core. You don’t even have to understand, or be in these characters shoes to feel their emotions slap in your face and enter your head and heart and soul. Even if you’re actually unnerved or repulsed by certain scenes, I truly believe that the way this book is written is totally approachable and appealing. For me it was pure magic reading this, it was as if I was suddenly taken from this realm and dropped right in the middle of Inferno, or the guys’ room. How deliciously perverted I felt. Every single molecule of my dark side woke up and took notice. The impact was so strong, I literally had to take the day off today and clear my head. I think I managed some.

But this is not a fun read. This is not the easily read book you read for escapism purpose only. As a matter of fact, this is quite thought-provoking as the characters both of them had some serious issues. Jude, Ben’s roommate and best friend and aspiring lover, has pretty much an obsession with Ben. That was the only way I saw it. He’s already deeply in love with him and has been for the better part of the three years they know each other and live together. It’s so painful reading about a character who constantly beats himself up, pinning after a guy who seems to have no interest in him, that at some point I seriously thought I was going to dislike Jude,. Perhaps I even did for a little while.

As for Ben, oh my God, what a character. Have ever met a person so heavily ridden by guilt they can’t see straight? It is so impossible, so frustrating dealing with such people, so when I saw that this was one of the strongest characteristic of Ben I had half a mind to abandon the book altogether (thankfully I didn’t, I’d be seriously regretting it). I came to a point where I felt so bad for Ben’s sake I couldn’t stand it. He feels guilty for his sister’s rape and death to the point of having PTSD symptoms. He feels guilty for leaving home after that, because he couldn’t bear looking at the shrine his parents put and the constant reminder. He feels guilty for not telling Jude about what bothers him. He feels guilty for being freaking born. No, it’s not extravagant at all. It’s what his parents done to him over the years. No, they are not monsters intentionally, but one particular scene with Ben and his father literally made think they were the very definition of cruelty, and you know what’s worse than cruelty? Cruelty from love… It was Hell. And yeah of course, I loved it. It felt so real it was as if I was living it myself.

Now, I went off a bit there. So imagine these two characters together. Ben is in this incredible place where he NEEDS to be hurt in order to forget about his heartache for a while. He found this in a D/s relationship. His Dom providing him with all the hurt he can take, and boy did he take a lot. But, it’s not only mental; he also gets off on it. He’s what we call a pain-slut. Start spanking, paddling, flogging and/or whipping him and he’s yours. Jude on the other hand screams VANILLA. As in kink=freak vanilla. As in spanking your lover equals abuse even when said partners erection goes above normal charters when he’s spanked and said partner is practically begging you to do that to him. So imagine, this book spends the better half of it with Jude pinning ridiculously for Ben, and most of the other half with him wanting to do anything not to lose Ben, even if the things Ben wants to be done to him are making Jude cringe and loath himself. It was ANGST reading this pair’s… oh dear. They aren’t even together for most part of the book, so I don’t know if relationship is the proper word here. The odd thing is that whenever they get intimate and emotional with each other, it rocks. It rocks so much you forget to breathe. Such a weird pair, so erotic and sensual, and so awkward too. I was not sure I was going to like them, but by the end of the story, I adored them. They were simply fabulous.

As for the plot in its entirety, I think it was simply brilliant. I had this weird reaction when at the beginning Ben and Kage (his Dom) went to Inferno, I relaxed (God knows why) and for a moment there I thought how nice a feeling to read about Ben know. I thought Ben was on his path to healing for some stupid reason. I just believed in Ben and Kage so much I was still trying to see how Jude would fit in there. So when the plot took this massive turn (that’s when the weird reaction came) I felt so cold, I think I was frozen in the same paragraph over and over for a good five minutes. And down the road things changed again… and then just as I’d be comfortable with a setting they would change again. But not in ludicrous way, that was its brilliance, the plot doesn’t keep you reeling, it simply has you on your toes, it demands your attention without making you lose focus or concentration with unworthy details or incredible events.

So before I end this I have one more thing to add. Dear Author, I did not appreciate the attempt you made there at the end to try to make us feel sorry for Kage. I certainly did not fall in that trap. I’m perfectly happy despising him and basking with the revenge.

So these were my thoughts. I could not have written more about this book without actually giving away spoilers. As it is, I sincerely hope I gave an idea of what to expect, and how marvelous a read this really is. I do believe this is a must read even if you’re not attracted to the genre. As for you kinksters out there, enjoy! J

Review: I actually found this precious little novella to be hot and sweet! But I was wearing my rose-colored glasses, because I stayed in Venice myself for a while and enjoyed the real revelry of Carnevale! So while I didn’t get to attend such a fascinating and risqué gentleman’s club like Perry and Jack, this author certainly fed my vivid imagination! This is definitely exotic reading, mainly centered around Perry exploring his exhibitionist and ménage loving side. Normally quite reserved, the anonymity of mask and costume wearing during Carnevale, and watching an entire society letting go of their inhibitions allows Perry to follow his own passions and curiosity. Multiple scenes of multiple lovers, a bit of D/s and a growing love affair between Perry and Jack. What was originally planned to be one hot stop on Perry’s Grand Tour accompanied by his best friend and sometimes lover, may result in taking root in Italy’s beautiful countryside. Poor Jack just can’t resist both Perry’s naiveté and the way he grabs hold of what he likes once he’s found it! A nice hot treat of a read, while it’s not deep, it is fascinating! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next as part of the Masquerade series.

Review: The publishers put this book under the genre of comedy/crime, but I found nothing funny about it. It was mainly about an exotic dancer becoming a questionably willing sexual partner to a crime boss. One he knew had violent tendencies and had earlier held him at gunpoint during a gang confrontation. Kasey is kind of like a male Geisha but not as classy: dancing, being eye-candy, performing for, and entertaining rich men. I think the books interest lies in the fascination of gang life, mafia style, and living on the edge. Giving a more human story to sex workers and mob bosses.

In the end Kasey and his best friend leave the crime life and clean themselves up, but Kasey comes back to Nagi. I’m a bit confused; maybe this should be fantasy genre instead. Or Yaoi? There are some pretty steamy scenes, so maybe it does fall a bit into BDSM, too. Little Boss was entertaining, but could have been more.

Blurb: River is the charismatic lead singer of Caged Hearts and it’s an open secret that the vibrant energy he displays on stage doesn’t bleed away as soon as he’s out from under the lights. That sometimes causes considerable friction with his band mates.

Jeff is the guitarist for Caged Hearts, but he’s not your typical party-hard rockstar. He’s far more focused on taking care of everyone in his band–especially River.

An offhand comment from Jeff inadvertently helps River discover his submissive side, and he asks Jeff to help him continue to explore those desires. While Jeff is turned on by the idea, he’s also reluctant. There’s no telling what it could do to the band and his friendship with River. Especially when Jeff wants so much more than just sex.

Review: I’m a big fan of BDSM, and what I truly like about it are the psychological D/s aspects, not necessarily the s/m. This book hits those hot points for me! I like how the author played up that natural instinct River has to submit and please Jeff. I also like the idea that it’s the most enjoyable way to calm that talented hyperactive lead singers soul after a performance. The thrill River gets from performing sexually in front of Jeff also seems to parallel his performance and exhibitionist persona on stage. Jeff’s sexual dominance just sneaks up and bites you, and the parallel between his Dom nature and his need to care for his band members is a great psychological link too.

As is typical in most BDSM tales, Jeff walks River through rules and safeguards of the D/s lifestyle, has negotiations and safeword set, and is cautious and conscious of bringing River on as his sub. It’s a fun, steamy read, and has a sweet HEA and a Perfect Solution for River and Jeff, as well as the rest of the band now that River is under control of his careful Dom! Definitely a recommended read.

Review: This story is part of a series but can be read as a stand-alone. Ron was a Celian Commander before he deserted because of his demons, working as a mercenary for Ami is a reprieve he was looking for but then Zaoh, a Haffa, joins the band of mercenaries and Ron’s peace becomes turmoil. Haffa’s and Celian’s have a history of blood and violence but the tension between Ron and Zaoh is tinged with attraction, when on a mission that goes wrong the pair give in but Ron has secrets that could lead to his death at the hands of Zaoh.

This is a great science fiction story that is rampant with sexual tension, personal strife, the road to happiness is violent and sexual, and forgiveness is hard to give and accept. Ron has a fierce attraction to Zaoh and it started when he spotted the Haffa on the battlefield, but it is also tinged with fear and hate for the brutal Haffa who killed so many of his men. Ron denies what he feels as best as he can. Not just because of the different sides they were on, but also because of the secrets he carries. Zaoh wants Ron and means to have him, he knows far more than Ron realizes but Zaoh takes great pleasure in dominating the answers out of Ron.

Ron and Zaoh are great characters and are an absolutely blazing hot couple, their attraction is a fierce presence, but it is tinged with fear, anger, hate, and shame. Ron holds his shame inside and when the darkness gets to be too much he yearns for the pain to overwhelm it, when Zaoh gets his hands on him Zaoh knows exactly what to do. Although they have a very combustible relationship and they are breaking down Ron’s barriers   we aren’t left with just a relationship between the two, we also get to see them in action when they are ambushed and the revenge they enact on behalf of their benefactor Ami.

I recommend this if you love science fiction, characters dealing with messed up feelings, rough D/s sex and a touch of BDSM, hot explosive sex, interesting characters with history and a great ending.

Blurb: The proposal was the easy part, but can Marcus and Jim survive planning the wedding?

Jim asked Marcus to marry him on Valentine’s Day and his master said yes. That should have been the hard part, right? Jim goes into full perfectionist mode, though, wanting everything to be just right for his master, and soon he’s stressed and unhappy.

When the planning also interferes with Marcus and Jim’s usual routine, miscommunication and misunderstandings follow. Is a wedding really worth all the aggravation?

Review: Well I was expecting a kinky and funny little short here, but that is not exactly what I got. Thing is I came to dread those three little words, you which ones, the “I love you”. I suppose this being a proposal/wedding themed story I shouldn’t have been surprised, yet silly me I had a difficult time getting used to read them every five sentences.

All in all, I don’t think this plot was ideal for me. The kinky stuff that should have made it worth it simply didn’t reach me. I couldn’t get into the spanking/bl routine the guys had; I couldn’t get into the mushy lovey-dovey situation at all and of course a wedding and all the drama it entails, good God I seriously disliked it.

The character frustrated me a bit too. There was so much love in the air and zero communication; Jim was such a weird creature, so very anxious that I had trouble liking, and Markus, well I was too indifferent of him.

Their intimate scenes being practically the same thing over and over again didn’t help much to create a nice atmosphere or get the reader enticed and enthralled with. A serious lack of creativity there and I found myself wondering why am I reading the same passage all over again in a different page.

Bottom end, this simply wasn’t my gig. For a D/s relationship, I expected something else and didn’t enjoy what I got much.

Blurb: Wild R Farm 3.5, A Wes and Tristan Short Story

Private Detective, Wesley James, and horse shifter, Tristan Hayes, have spent the last few weeks adjusting to living together in Wes’s house in Nashville. Night after night with a demanding stallion is wearing Wes out, but he doesn’t mind. He loves Tristan more than he ever imagined, and he’ll do whatever it takes to show him, even if that involves a spanking, some handcuffs, and a visit to the gun range. Wes almost lost Tristan once, and no matter how difficult Tristan makes it, he’s determined to teach his man how to protect himself in his more fragile human form.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order, especially after Embracing Need. We reconnect with Wes and Tristan as Wes tries to gain a little bit of control over Tristan. Wes is determined to get Tristan to slow down a bit but Tristan keeps driving Wes to the edge of his control, so Wes decides to take a leaf out of Tristan’s book and if it includes handcuffs, ties and spanking to get Tristan to relax then Wes is all for it.

This is a great short story where we see demanding stallion Tristan finally get just what he needs off Wes. Wes is still worried about Tristan’s safety and is determined to get Tristan to the shooting range. Tristan is taking great joy of breaking Wes’ control though by tempting him constantly with hot sex and Wes has the idea to make Tristan take it slow instead of instant gratification and they come to a mutually satisfactory deal.

This is one hot short story as we see insatiable Tristan pushing Wes buttons and making Wes lose all control, we also see Wes taking control of Tristan’s satisfaction and taking him to heights of pleasure as he reassures Tristan of his love. Wes and Tristan are an incredibly hot couple and the sexual tension and sparks between them is incredible, there are still some fears of safety after the kidnapping in Embracing Need but the main focus in this short is of Tristan’s need to rush sex. The way that they both react to the handcuffs and spankings is mind blowingly hot with Wes finally getting the upper hand in their sexual games.

I recommend this to those who love hot sexual encounters, teasing, love and doing anything to please the one you love.

Blurb: Supreme ruler of his planet, Zigog Claelyan, was kept so frantically busy he had no time to be tempted, until an admirer gives him a rare and expensive earthling. When the arrogant creature seems to have no interest in him, Zigog is furious and reluctantly intrigued.

There is nothing Dalton Boyd hates more than feeling powerless. When he’s caged and given as a gift to an alien who clearly has everything, he’s willing to do anything to torment him—even ignore him. When his strategy works a little too well, Dalton discovers he’s just as captivated as his new master is.

As their masks fall away and they succumb to temptation, can Zigog and Dalton face one another with honesty? Or will they allow dark secrets and deep-seated fears to ruin their chance at the mystical soul resonance?

Review: This story is part of a series and can be read as a stand-alone but is best read in order. Dalton is surprised and scared when he is chosen for the alien lottery; he has only just started to explore his Dominate side and now thinks he will never get to experiment further, until he sets eyes on the alien who now owns him. Zigog is the Supreme ruler of his planet and never has any time off, when he is gifted a human at his birthday celebration he is furious and aroused with the humans attitude. Zigog and Dalton soon find themselves losing the masks they hide behind as they succumb to their attraction, but they still have obstacles to overcome if their soul resonance is to bind fully.

This story is slightly connected to Bound by Pleasure through Hunter who was Dalton’s best friend; we saw them as they comforted each other in the hours before they were to leave their homes. Dalton now finds himself in a cage a hundred feet in the air above a celebration, Dalton digs deep to keep his fear at bay and decides he is going to seduce the beautiful gold man as soon as he gets the chance. Zigog is painted gold for his birthday celebration, when he is given the gift of a human he decides he will make the arrogant human bend to his will, but Dalton offers him something he never thought he wanted… Domination.

We are again taken to a new planet with a new culture and we see two males trying to understand each other’s cultures. Dalton has to understand the foundation of Zigog’s society and the way it works for him to really get a grasp because nothing is the same as on Earth, the music, the art and the way they make families is all different but luckily Dalton grasps it quite quickly and Zigog has patience. Zigog has a lot to learn as well as he gets to grasps with Dalton’s vocabulary, their sexual exploits, and discovering he has been sheltered on purpose. Their trust builds quickly as they each share themselves with the other, but they soon learn that even though they trust each other Zigog has difficulty trusting himself.

I recommend this to those who love men finding themselves, exploring their sexual needs, slight D/s, hot sex, building trust and discovering to have faith in ones-self, and a very happy ending when it all comes together.

Blurb: Lucien Thorne likes to be in control, but the boy he wants to own may take some convincing.

Gorgeous but shy, Benedict Astor does his best to keep a low profile at the rowing club where he works. However, unbeknown to Benedict, he has attracted the attention of Lucien Thorne, rowing aristocracy, an Olympic medalist and a Lord.

Whilst looking for a new rowing partner, Lucien believes he has found what he needs in Ben. He pushes him to his limits on the water and it becomes clear that rowing with the pretty young man is not his only interest. Ben is attracted to Lucien but confused about his feelings. Lucien is demanding, arrogant and dominant—which Benedict responds to even though he feels he should resist.

Fighting emotions he doesn’t understand, Ben has to contend with the bullying rowing club president and a humiliating auction of promises.

Lucien recognizes Ben’s hidden submissive streak and makes his own need for control very clear. He bids for Ben’s time and then forces Ben to admit to his own desire to test the ground between them.

When the deeds to the boat club are gambled away, Lucien and Ben must work together to save it. Will their growing love survive the pressure, Ben’s uncertainty and Lucien’s desire to own him completely?

Review: Oh my, what a funny book.  I think I spend half the time reading while laughing and the other drooling over Lucien. Because, Oh. My. God. my imagination simply could not let Lucien alone after meeting him here. Lucien (sigh), tall, broad shoulders, dark hair, piercing blue eyes, domineering, an Olympic grade athlete  and a bloody damn Lord. So yes, I started drooling over this character the instant he came into view. Now add to this a very arrogant manner, possessiveness and a healthy dose of jealousy and you have a mix that makes you crazy. But I’m rushing ahead here.

First, we get to meet Ben, who is a young man of 21years and still in college. He has free membership and board on a small flat over the boathouse of a rowing club for working three hours a day. Nice deal, if it wasn’t for Seb, his boss. (I’ll come back to Seb later) Ben is quite handsome, but very, very shy. His behavior invites almost everybody around him to push him over and somehow abuse him (very disconcerting). He has this thing off wanting to make himself disappear into the shadows, failing miserably since almost everybody notices him. Lucien included.

Lucien has recently lost his rowing partner and while looking for another, guess who he thinks might be a suitable match? Yup, our little Ben. But, Ben also strikes other cords to Lucien, making him want to totally possess the young man and make him his.

This pair’s relationship starts in such a funny way it had me laughing so much at the beginning. Lucien being rude to Ben, ordering him around, pushing all his buttons, seemingly never regarding Ben’s wants and almost always humiliating him. And while all the time Ben is frustrated and wants to tell him off, his body and mostly a particular organ of his body, has a mind of its own. Hilarious. Even more hilarious is the beginning of their intimate time together, the Dom/sub thing was almost too much and Ben’s constant state of frustration was adorable.

Now I had my doubts when it came to the intimate, intimate scenes, because Ben is a virgin and their relationship since day one is a clear Dom/sub one with Lucien being quite aggressive. I literally winced on Ben’s behalf with their first time, that while being hot, it was also or looked very painful…

And there was also Seb (told you I’ll be back with him). Seb really had my jaw hanging. What on earth was up with that character? Abusive, a complete jerk and to top it all violent, nearly raping Ben. What on earth was his deal? Never really got that one. But the oddest thing is that Ben and Lucien not only didn’t do anything about his assault, but ended up helping him with the rowing club. Really? That so didn’t make sense to me. I’d rather he had rotten in jail and lost every damn thing, not have a HEA of his own. Alas, I must comply with the author’s wishes.

So even if Seb completely enraged me I loved this book. It was written in a wonderful voice, had that distinct British humor that is to die for and the entire love/action story was addictive and so very easy in the eyes. My own personal beliefs regarding love declarations had me shuddering a bit, but it’s so low on the list that it didn’t do much in my enjoyment of the story itself. I had a great night and felt my time worth spent and if you’re lovers of kinky romance I so recommend this one for you. J

Jim Menetti had a life at Indiscrete, the Gay BDSM club owned by Bear Drummond and Reed Davis. His life revolves around Reed, his Master, and his position as manager of the Club. On Jim and Reed’s third anniversary, Jack Leary, Reed’s on and off flame comes back and Jim’s relationship with Reed unravels. Jim picks himself up and makes a life for himself apart from his job, he buys a home, makes it a cozy retreat and gets a cat he names Waltzing Matilda. He even has a new love interest, the mysterious Professor Caleb Brickner, an expert in the Spanish Inquisition and medieval torture. Then, Reed changes his mind.

Review: Jim loves his Master, Reed and is making a wonderful anniversary cake to mark their third anniversary.  But, he is scared to death, because Reed didn’t come home the night before and Jack’s back. Brian and Bear (from A Matter of Trust) help Jim to pick up the pieces of his life and start afresh.  But, just when his life is looking up and a new man walks into his life, Reed decides that he might have made a mistake.

This is a story that has a few surprises in store for us, but is disappointing if you were expecting BDSM. Jim has been Reed’s sub for three years and he thought that everything was nearly perfect between them.  But, when Jack, Reed’s ex, comes back to town Jim is dumped and slowly begins to rebuild his life.  When he meets Caleb he thinks that he just might have struck gold.  But, it isn’t long before a shadow hangs over them and Jim begins to have his doubts. Reed has a past that haunts him and he truly believes that Jack is the only one who can accept him the way he is.  But, he begins to think he has made a mistake and he realizes what he threw away when he let Jim go.

Jim is the character to watch in this story as he has a lot hidden up his sleeve and he is far from the twink we first imagine him to be. Reed is a character that you hate and then warm up to, as you learn just what in his past haunts him.  You still find it hard to forgive his treatment of the wonderful Jim, but you begin to understand what drives him. The storyline is interesting with the mysterious Caleb and his overpowering nature and Bear and Brian are wonderful friends to Jim.  The only disappointment that I truly had, was there was no BDSM or anything like that really.  It was mainly focused on Jim’s new man and on Reed’s handling of his past.

I will recommend this if you love complex men and their emotional difficulties, mysterious dangerous men, hidden depth’s, admitting your faults and finding forgiveness and love.

Blurb: Liam loves his life as a linguist and trader on the Rownt homeworld, but he has ignored his heart and sexual needs for years. He won’t risk letting anyone come too close because he won’t risk letting anyone see his deeply submissive nature. For him, submission comes with pain. Life burned that lesson into his soul from a young age. This fear keeps him from noticing that the Rownt trader Ondry cares for him.

Ondry may not understand humans, but he recognizes a wounded soul, and his need to protect Liam is quickly outpacing his common sense. They may have laws, culture, and incompatible genitalia in their way, but Ondry knows that he can find a way to overcome all that if he can just overcome the ghosts of Liam’s past. Only then can he take possession of a man he has grown to love.

Product Link: http://www.loose-id.com/claimings-tails-and-other-alien-artifacts.html

Review: This book brought such a smile on my face my cheeks still hurt. What a beautiful world Ms. Gala created here, how very fascinating. This story is located on Prarownt, the planet of a reptile-like species called Rownt. Rownt are traders at core, everything in their life is seen in pure logic and calculation in order to gain outmost profit. Their entire take on life, their beliefs and life structure is often not even conceived by human logic.

Liam job is to trade with the Rownt and learn as much as possible from them, about them. He loves his job, he adores this planet, but unfortunately his new Commanding Officer is threatening his life here. His CO’s abuse is taking its toll on him and affecting his trading. Rownt trader Ondry, one of Liam’s favorite, notices his discomfort and changes his entire attitude toward Liam. In his five years on the planet, Liam has never seen such display, never has a Rownt came too close to him and never, ever has one attempted to touch him. Confused he might have somehow unintentionally insulted Ondry, Liam’s control is fast slipping from his hands. His CO’s public confrontation and insults does nothing to help the situation and suddenly Liam find himself in the inexplicable position of being chained in Ondry’s bed.

Confusion, panic, fear and hurt claim Liam’s mind. While the Rownt tries to explain to him that Liam’s new status is to be his palteia, a new term that gives him no explanation at all, Liam only finds his mind drifting to darker places of his past. Back when he was used, abused and shattered to pieces. Burying his sexuality for years this new situation not only awakens him, but it terrifies him. His longing for a strong man who will provide safety and love and his inability to let go and trust has him nearly torn in half. The fact that human and Rownt concepts are so very different do not help at all and Ondry has to find a way to get in his mind and make Liam see life through his eyes. If only Liam would give up and trust him his sanity.

And I am not doing a good job in my attempt to tell you what this story is about. How could I, this book approach so many things. Perhaps if I were to tell you that this books focus is more toward the relationship and feelings aspects than the sexual one. After all, Rownt and Human biology are not compatible. Rownt are a species that do not use sexual intercourse for pleasure, nor intimacy. They do not display such behavior and only use sex to reproduce, the very act being somehow brutal in human eyes.

This book focuses more into D/s relationships, on how a Dom and a sub react, what they expect and what they give, seen from different perspectives. The Rownt logic that sees things human would call brute as normal and vice versa. How one’s status is scorned from some societies and adored from others. How the beauty is in the eyes of the beholder so to speak.

For me this was a lovely read. A great Science Fiction with a wonderful take on BDSM and especially on D/s. I totally loved it, it was brilliant and I strongly recommend it.

Blurb:  The Cajun’s first Christmas with his mate is filled with the promise of many things. Chief among them is a key for Evan St. Germaine’s house and a collar for Gideon Green. Their relationship has progressed far enough that they both feel like the most important people in their lives should come together at a special party for both the French Quarter Brats and Evan’s wolf pack. It is promised to be a very eventful party, and Gideon and Evan are hopeful for a wonderful time.

However, tensions arise as the party begins and outside influences cause the partygoers to fall under a spell designed to make them behave cruelly toward one another. Hateful words are exchanged, and Gideon leaves the house to escape the conversation. Little does he know that old friends are waiting for him and an unexpected Christmas intervention will make the celebration a bit more exciting than the couple originally planned.

NOTE! This is a holiday book featuring the characters from Pet du Cajun and is not stand-alone.

Review:  This story is part of a series which must be read in order. Evan has big plans for Christmas which include introducing Gideon to his pack. But, things don’t go to plan when the party for both sets of friends takes an unexpected turn and fears come to light. Can Evan convince Gideon that he wants him for good and can Gideon shake off his past and embrace what Evan offers him?

This is a good continuation of Rock Bottom Boys, letting us see how Gideon and Evan are progressing in their relationship. As Christmas approaches, Evan has decided that it is time to claim Gideon as his boy. He has the collar and a key to the house to give to Gideon, but Gideon has noticed that Evan hasn’t become his master fully yet and it has caused him unease. The insecurities break free during their party and when Gideon leaves he lands in trouble, and his friends and Evan’s have to come together to find him.

I must admit to having a bit of disquiet as I read at first because of how deep into the submissive mind-set that Gideon seemed to be in and how he seemed to pander to everything that Evan wanted, but I was soon set at ease as Gideon bit back with a snarl and showed that he still had his backbone. It is so easy sometimes for a character to get lost in the wants of others, but Jana Downs has these characters nicely balanced out, and although there is some butting heads from the dominate men; there was no walking all over the submissive men.

This is a really good book and we get to know the members of Evan’s pack, we meet Gideon’s friends and there is more from the vampire prince. We have a better idea of what is going on in New Orleans and there are some interesting connections made, and it is interesting to learn more about the paranormal aspects as well.

I will recommend this to those who love D/s relationships, hot sex, frustrating wolves, impish brats and a happy ending with the promise of more interesting stories to come.

Review: Things begin to fall apart for Asher when his brother is put in the hospital…again. Finding out how much his brother’s gambling debts are nearly knock him off his feet. His immediate boss, at his new job, is out to get him and he has a heavy case of lust at first sight for the gorgeous blue-eyed stranger, who he later discovers is Max Tyler, owner of the club he works. Asher is dragged into a plot to get rid of Tyler, but what will Asher do when his brother’s life is in danger and so is that of Tyler? Just who is the most important person to Asher and how can he get out of the mess he has fallen into?

This is a well written story that has a lot of action and danger to keep you on your toes. Asher gets dragged into something he has no clue about when his brother runs up gambling debts that he just can’t pay. When Asher meets Tyler, he is swept off his feet, but later finds out that Tyler is the target and that his brother’s life is in danger. Asher has no clue where to turn and to make it worse; Neil (his immediate boss) is making his life miserable and has very evil intentions. Tyler spotted the sexy Asher on Asher’s first night at work and he wants him, and what Tyler wants he gets. But, a lot of things seem to be leading to Asher, Tyler needs to learn the truth, but that doesn’t mean he can stay away from the sexy Asher.

You know, I enjoyed this storyline and the various characters made it interesting. Although, I am still not sure about Asher, half the time he seemed like he had a backbone and a spine of steel, but then he’d get around Tyler and act like he didn’t have a brain anymore and would turn to mush. Tyler was a real alpha male. People would fall over themselves to give him what he wants and his enemies want him dead. Tyler is a very powerful character and he works really well in this book. He and Asher are great together, but I still have a hard time understanding Asher’s reaction to him, it just seemed overboard.

The action is quite fast paced and Asher does manage to attract danger, there is a near rape scene and also a dubious consent scene (which was really hot) and Asher really needs to get his mind and body in sync. Neil is the perfect ex who has gone off his rocker and carries it out brilliantly. He really was nuts. I really wanted Asher to confront his brother over the trouble he landed them in, but it didn’t happen.

I will recommend this to those who love strong alpha males, a submissive who tries to fight what he really wants, danger, action, hot sex, and a happy ending for these two men.

Review: I had mixed feelings about this book. At some points I flew through the pages, eager to see what would happen next, and at other points, I was tapping my toes.

Let me start with the things that had me flying through pages:

  • The clean writing. The authors use clear, precise sentences to convey information, and they employ many of the senses in any given scene. That led to a more tactile experience of the book, where I felt, smelled, and heard as well as saw the story being played out.
  • The two perspectives. This choice was great. I loved reading how the other felt/thought. It kept things interesting.
  • The Square Peg. I liked the idea of the bar and its transformation (which nicely echoed the relationship status between Shane and Benedict – at least for the beginning).
  • The sex scenes. Yeah, they were pretty hot for the most part. Certainly they had me flushed. 😉 (More on this further down . . .)
  • Vin. What a wonderful likeable character. His story is going to sweep me away. I can just feel it, and the end of The Square Peg alludes to that story coming pretty soon. This hook was a great way of sucking in readers for wanting more.

The things that made my foot tap:

  • The 180 lust to love. This happened too quickly that it didn’t feel real. I would have liked a little more development emotionally between Shane and Benedict.
  • Ben as a Dom. I think this was the crux of my issues with the book. When I first started reading, I was introduced to a character who, to me, did not feel the confident Dom type. In fact, I was thinking, if anything, it would have been Shane to be the more aggressive of the two. Now, as the story progressed, I accepted the fact it wouldn’t be as I anticipated, and went with it, but that first transition made the experience a bit rocky.
  • Coming hand-in-hand with this ‘something’s not quite right with Ben as a Dom’ was the way Ben seemed to second guess his actions after giving Shane a firm hand. I wavered with this one. Sometimes I was irritated, I guess I just wanted strong and commanding and no quibbles. Then, at other times, I thought maybe these insecurities show a more realistic side to someone trying out being a Dom for the first time.

Overall though, this was a good read, and I would recommend it to those in the mood for a light, erotic read. It’s fun.

Blurb: It’s hate at first sight when Grant McDowell meets co-worker Tristan Wetherby-Hyde. Working-class Grant fought his way up in the world and into a position at Spirit Advertising, and he can’t help but think that Tristan, son of the agency’s homophobic CEO, had everything handed to him on a silver platter.

But their differences aren’t enough to keep their mutual lust in check, despite Tristan’s fear of exposure and his father’s reaction. Both Grant and Tristan know exactly what they have to lose—what they don’t know is that their hearts are also at stake.

Review: Grant thinks that Tristan is the stuck-up spoiled son, who has been given an easy ride in life and hates him on principle. Tristan thinks that Grant is an uncouth prat and hates him, because Grant hates him. The sparks fly and passion ignites, but are these two just too different.

A very hot novella where opposites are more than attracted. Grant is a man who has fought to get where he is today.  He has stood on his own two feet and made it, as far as he has, on his own merit.  He hates people who look down on him because of his accent or his schooling. When he meets Tristan for the first time, he thinks he has him pegged and is surprised by how things turn out. Tristan knows that he will always be a disappointment to his father and when he embarks on an affair with Grant, he knows that if his father ever found out that he was gay, then he would be sacked, chucked out and disinherited, but he can’t fight the draw that Grant has over him.

This is a hot story with a lot of sparks and passion between the two MCs. Tristan is a bit of a submissive and Grant a Dom and there is some mutual enjoyable violence between them. We get a slight feel for the characters and they are both seen dwelling on what has happened between them and what might happen yet.  And although they come from completely different backgrounds they seem to mash well together. The sex is explosive and a little bit violent at times, but it is very hot.

I will recommend this to those who like opposites attracts, enemies to lovers, a bit of sub/Dom and an ending that is satisfying to both Grant and Tristan.
