Heat For Sale

(Heat for Sale 01)
by

Blake Moreno

Heat can be sold but love is earned.

In a world where omegas sell their heats for profit, Adrien is a university student in need of funding. With no family to fall back on, he reluctantly allows the university’s matcher to offer his virgin heat for auction online. Anxious, but aware this is the reality of life for all omegas, Adrien hopes whoever wins his heat will be kind.

Heath—a wealthy, older alpha—is rocked by the young man’s resemblance to his dead lover, Nathan. When Heath discovers Adrien is Nathan’s lost son from his first heat years before they met, he becomes obsessed with the idea of reclaiming a piece of Nathan.

Heath buys Adrien’s heat with only one motivation: to impregnate Adrien, claim the child, and move on. But their undeniable passion shocks him. Adrien doesn’t know what to make of the handsome, mysterious stranger he’s pledged his body to, but he’s soon swept away in the heat of the moment and surrenders to Heath entirely.

Once Adrien is pregnant, Heath secrets him away to his immense and secluded home. As the birth draws near, Heath grows to love Adrien for the man he is, not just for his connection to Nathan. Unaware of Heath’s past with his omega parent and coming to depend on him heart and soul, Adrien begins to fall as well.

But as their love blossoms, Nathan’s shadow looms. Can Heath keep his new love and the child they’ve made together once Adrien discovers his secrets?

Heat for Sale is a stand-alone m/m erotic romance by Leta Blake, writing as Blake Moreno. Infused with a du Maurier Rebecca-style secret, it features a well-realized omegaverse, an age-gap, dominance and submission, heats, knotting, and scorching hot scenes.

The head of Global Pictures Studios, Vincent Franklin, promised Jack Stone that he would take care of Jack’s loyal driver, Juan. But for a dominant man like Vincent, Juan’s natural submissiveness causes him to long for much more from the shy young man.

Juan is devastated when his only friend, film star Jack Stone, leaves Hollywood for good. Lonely most of his life, the shy young man has dreamt of love, only to have his heart broken repeatedly. Before he left, Jack made certain that Juan would be taken care of by asking his ex-boss, studio chief Vincent Franklin, to hire him on.

Vincent Franklin is an incredibly controlled and meticulous man. Not given to emotional outbursts and unnecessary flights of fancy, his temperament is ideal for the stressful and demanding job as head of Global Pictures Studio. He leads a carefully concealed private life, his only social outlet being the sadomasochism club to which he belongs. When Jack introduces him to his handsome chauffeur Juan, he is struck by how naturally submissive Juan is. He wonders…

Soon, Juan is falling for the elegant, older man that is his new boss. He’s also thrilled when Vincent asks him to be his personal valet. But there are things that Vincent demands of a lover that Juan knows nothing about. Things that could make him run away from the man who would do anything to protect and care for him.

Blurb: Roque “Ro” Celdran dreams of a better life, far away from the hand-to-mouth existence of his migrant worker family. He moves to San Francisco to study Landscape Design but finds himself short of cash. Tony, Ro’s identical twin, comes up with a plan to help Ro make ends meet. The BDSM club Tony frequents is looking for gay men to act as submissives to the Dommes-in-training. Ro reluctantly takes the job and falls headfirst into a world he neither understands nor desires.

Lance Roberts is the new doctor at the dental practice started by Scott Gregory and Robin Kennedy. On the surface, he seems to have it all: the Mensa IQ, blond and blue-eyed good looks, and the determination to make it in his competitive field. Underneath lies a frustrated Dom in search of the perfect sub who can handle his obsessive behavior and debilitating need for control.

When Ro ends up in Lance’s dental chair, the last thing either one expects is a physical and mental connection. Ro’s attraction to “White Bread” never pans out, and Lance’s weakness for Latinos always leads to a dead-end. Could this time be different? What happens between the two alphas leads to a lot of soul-searching and some surprising conclusions.

Review: Well this was a very interesting book in so many ways. First of all, we have a dentist for a main character and I have to praise the research behind this part of the story. Everything regarding anything dental was described wonderfully, and the way, venues, materials a dentist uses were so real it made me cringe. Fact is I have a sort of phobia toward this profession and damn it if I didn’t feel at times as if I was there, in that clinic facing that Doc. *shudders* But it gave this entire read a very realistic side, made me feel as if I’m right in there, in the heart of this story, inside this very setting. It was a great feeling to be able to immerse myself in such a way in this story.

The other equally interesting things here are the twins. Being a person who has been and still am surrounded by twins, identical and not, my entire life I can’t help but notice how close to the psyche and behavior of twins the author got. At times I felt as if I was reading about my ex-partner and his brother, it was so close to them. Yes, there are twins who get along extremely well even as they are nothing like the other in personality, and then there are those twins who not only are miles in character away from each other, but there is this user/abuser thing going in on between them.

This story has the second part of twins; Ro always the good guy, the one who tries to make a life by working hard toward his goals and his twin is the taking-the-easy-road kind of guy, always irresponsible, always wanting to get somewhere easily and fast. When he crashes and burns though it is Ro cleaning up the mess. This time things got too far and Ro might not only be unable to help his twin, but he is in danger of losing the one thing he thought he’d never get in his life.

The romantic part of the book on the other hand is actually not only sweet, it is intriguing and really worth reading. Lance, the Doc, is a challenging character. He is supposed to be a Dom, but damn if he didn’t give submissive vibes from the beginning of this story. It had me wondering about him the entire time I was reading and when it got to the point where some elements were revealed, well everything made sense then and the way the story turned satisfied me to no end. I loved the dynamic between Lance and Ro. I loved how they handled their relationship. I loved how the book ended with the guys finally having found their place and their own unique style, without suffocating with all those labels and expectations. Not your typical BDSM read, not your typical D/s relationship, and that was perhaps what makes this even more worth reading.

I enjoyed it very much, even as Ro made me want to slap him at times with his holding up the deception, and if you like, a nice romantic story with a kinky bit in it, then this is one I definitely recommend.

Review: A sexy little ménage story about a twink/sub and his Dom lover who decide to add a little spice to their love life by bringing in a third.

Ken is perfectly happy in his life with his long-term, live in boyfriend Jack. Ken is a submissive and Jack is his dominate. Every aspect of their relationship is mutual, including the decision to add something new. During his birthday Ken shares with Jack that it would be a dream come true to add a third lover to their mix. And Jack will do anything to make his man happy.
When Jack comes home from his latest mission with his colleague Slider in tow, Ken has no idea that his birthday wish is about to come true. After the threesome finish the dinner Ken prepared for Jack’s coming home, Slider and Jack decide they are ready for desert, and Ken is looking very appetizing to them.

This is a short on the lighter side of BDSM. Jack is an obvious Dom, as is Slider, but neither of them do anything abusive to Ken. It’s more in the wording of the story and the actual sex, the way it’s written and conveyed. Harlem did a great job of conveying the love between the two ML even with so few pages. You can tell that even though Slider is a welcome addition to this particular evening and fantasy, Jack and Ken are committed to each other and Jack is very protective of his sub. That aspect of the story was kind of adorable.

This would be the perfect dirty, sexy story to make your lunch hour fly by with that dash of romance for desert!

Blurb: When the lines between nightmares and reality become blurred, it’s time to wake up and put an end to life’s horrors.

When Ben reveals yet more of his secrets, including a piquant part of his past and the last vital element in the plan to put an end to their enemy’s evil deeds, Colin is determined to see this plan through—whatever it takes. He surrenders to vampire Dom Ben’s special brand of training technique and finds some solace in the fact that a ménage à trois with a vampire is a very satisfying arrangement for an incubus demon.

Fuelled by his lovers’ highly potent emotions, Colin’s demon side is stronger than ever mentally, but his weakness lies in his heart. He struggles to accept the truths he can no longer deny and the time has come for him to reconsider what he knows about the people he thought he could trust—and those he thought he couldn’t.

As the last pieces of the puzzle fall into place and people reveal their true colours, Colin realises that some horrors linger even after he has woken from the nightmare.

Review: Reader Advisory: This is the last book in a series with an ongoing story arc. It is recommended to read the series in order of release. This book contains the use of unusual sex toys, and hot ménage scenes.

This is the last book in this series, but there is opening left for something else later. I will definitely be on-board for whatever is next. This whole series is very good but I think I will say this is my favourite in the series.

I have to say I found this to be a perfect and very satisfactory ending.  Wow!! What a shocking twist in here and I have to say I never saw that coming! Actually, I was in for two surprises.

This series has a lot of sex and very explicit at that. As I have mentioned before though, in this book it didn’t bother me since the sex is crucial to the storyline, being Colin is an Incubus and feeds on sex. This book has even more sex than the others do do; pretty much jam packed beginning to end. I have to applaud Sage Marlowe on her skill at putting in so much sex, keeping it tasteful, and interesting. I actually leaned a few new things in this book!

There weren’t any new characters, except Raven and he was introduced in the last book. I found him intriguing and would have liked more. Hopefully, if there is a new series he will be in it. It is amazing how after six books the characters still evolved and grew. I absolutely loved this book, which is why Sage Marlowe is one of my favourite writers.

I highly recommend this if you like a good vampire/ demon series, BDSM, ménage, sex-toys, bondage, D/s, erotica, shocking twists and explosive series finales! I will miss you Colin!

Blurb: Gideon Green is homeless and alone in the unfamiliar city of New Orleans. Luckily, he’s taken in by a group of boys called the French Quarter Brats and shown how to survive by its members. A year into living with them, he sees the man the Brats call the Cajun King, and the instant attraction and unreasoning pull he feels will not be denied.

Evan St. Germaine, the Cajun King of New Orleans, has been looking for his mate since he became a werewolf a decade previously. When Gideon approaches him, he knows instantly who the boy is to him, even if the human doesn’t realize it yet. Taking Gideon home and building his mate’s confidence is just the first step in helping Gideon realize his self-worth, but will Evan’s mastery be enough to make Gideon realize that being his mate includes more than his obedience and willing submission?

Note: This book was previously published with another publisher and has been extensively revised and expanded.

Review: This book is a revised edition of The Cajun’s Pet and although many of you will say, well it can’t be that different, you’d be wrong. Because there’s quite a bit added in. and although it doesn’t seem to have changed all that much, the added paranormal aspect adds a different depth to the story and there are other notable changes as well.

Gideon is sharing an apartment with five other men. All trying to get by in New Orleans. He tries to get honest work and sometimes will go for days without food, rather than turning to selling himself. The first time he sees Evan the ‘Cajun King’, he is intrigued and takes to hovering around the Café where Evan has his breakfast. Grabbing his courage, he approaches the Cajun and makes him an offer. Evan is surprised and intrigued when a brat approaches him offering to be his pet. There is something about the other man that makes his wolf sit up and whine, so he takes a chance. But Evan soon learns that Gideon is damaged and he has to be tough so both of them get what they really want.

I must admit to being surprised when I learned that Jana Downs had re-written The Cajun’s Pet and had added a paranormal slant to it. But to be honest I liked it. It added a bit more spice to the story line and adds a more intriguing aspect. Gideon is a sweet character, but he is lost. When Evan takes him in, Gideon immerses himself in everything that he is given and offered. But Evan knows that Gideon needs to find himself, before he commits to Evan fully. The paranormal aspect is one that I want more of. Evan is a wolf and has a small pack that is spread throughout the country. Finding out more about the circumstances of his change and when he changed Gideon would have been nice, but hey, it was still a good story. I will admit that there was one part where I thought that both Gideon and Evan were being selfish and that was when the vampire asked for their help after they had a slight misunderstanding.

I will recommend this to those who like 24/7 D/s, paranormal stories, finding yourself and a happy ending for a wolf and his mate.

Review: I found this one hard to review. I kept bouncing between a four, to a three, to a four, so I finally decided that since it kept me on my toes it deserved the four.  None of this had to do with the story, it was all me.  The story is good. Very good. And I can’t wait for the next one.  So why all the indecision?  There was a lot I liked, and a couple of things I didn’t.

First of all, it started out with a bang.  Jack and the apparition of his lover intrigued me. I kept wondering if the story had some paranormal elements. I will say I would not consider it a paranormal. I loved that though Martin is long dead we still actually get to meet him and he is in the story a lot. I thought this was an ingenious way to describe a character from the past, drop backstory, and let us know our lead more.

Jack I liked, but I love a good broken man and Jack was that.  He is well liked and well-respected. Rebel I loved. But then again who doesn’t like the wild biker boy with sly charm. I did expect a bit more rebellion from Rebel but I loved him.

The story was good, with a bit of mystery. Though that was solved pretty quickly, I did sense a bit more intrigue coming from the new sheriff.  The story is basically a BDSM story and not a mild one. There is a lot of kink and fetish, so if that isn’t your thing, this may not be for you.   Now here is the little thing I didn’t like. At first, I think things moved too fast with Jack and Rebel. We went from Jack mourning his lover and being in a 3-year funk, to Rebel swooping in and then Rebel submitting in zero to sixty. BAM. But then it was very hot and sexy.  Closer to the end though the author acknowledged this fastness and explained it.  Then there was a little hint when we found the culprit of the crimes of something else I did not want to see.  It kept creeping in as a tease then swooping away.  I won’t say what but I will say it did not happen at least not yet and the tease is still there to taunt us into reading the next book. Which I will.

So, all in all this is a very good book. It will keep you on your toes and biting your nails for sure. It is very, very explicit and has some descriptive BDSM scenes. I will say, I usually am turned off by so much sex, but this was extremely hot and juicy and it kept me wanting more. Jack and Rebel are amazing together and they even made things such as using the bathroom hot… Yes, you must read this if you like fetishes and 24 -7 D/s lifestyles.

If you like BDSM, D/s lifestyle, fetishes, broken men healing, an all-over good story with a bit of intrigue and some very hot mansex this is for you

This leaves the whole family, especially his husband, Steve, reeling.

Review: If you like good erotica, Liz Borino is the master. Both of these authors take sex scenes to a new level. This story has sex all through it, but it never seems to get old or felt like porn on pare. It’s seamless and so sensual and erotic. Even the BDSM is just enough to make you squirm and swoon it is definitely not vanilla BDSM like a light tap on the butt or just hands over your head. This delves into the D/s lifestyle and club though the main characters have their own spin on the lifestyle.

There is some mystery and intrigue and again this doesn’t upstage the romance and erotic vibe of these stories yet adds another layer of depth and emotion to the characters involved.

I was absolutely shocked at a twist near the end with Drew and Alex. I most definitely did not see this one coming, well actually shocked by two things near the end and the very end with these two.  I can’t wait for the next book.

If you like erotica, movie stars, club owners, screen-writers, BDSM, knife play, wax play, suspension, bondage, D/s, teenage love, cute babies, sweet dogs and cats and some pretty hot yet sensual mansex this is for you!

Review: Oh my God, what a disturbing, distressing, and utterly frustrating read. I finished this yesterday, slept through the night thinking about it, and still feel frustrated with so many things. I know half of them were intentional from the authors to awaken reactions, but I fear, what made the worse impact with me was not deliberate. You got no idea what I’m talking about right? Let’s see:

This is the story of eighteen-year-old Scott who’s lived a sheltered life, the life his parents has dictated for him. He’s been homeschooled, kept away from society, literally a prisoner of his parent’s whims. Through sheer luck, Scott gains access to internet and a new world opens in front of his eyes. He is naïve, beyond anything you might have as a comparison, but I was okay with that, it happens and when a child is in that manner abused, it is probably a norm.
In his naivety, Scott falls pray of a man from England, who buys him an A’ class ticket there. And after being nearly desperate to get away from his parent clutches, Scott finds himself on a plane and in a new country across the ocean.

Cringe-worthy I ensure you and this is only the beginning scene. The story itself is not so much explicit, it doesn’t affect you with horrors or cruelty per se, and it’s rather the what-could-have-been that makes you reel from it.

At the airport, Scott is not claimed by Jeff, the guy who told him he loved him. He sits there in near panic thinking over and over how not worthy he is, how no one wants him, no one will ever take care of him, and how no one will love him enough to care. Yes, you got it right. This character suffers from a huge deal of low self-esteem. He is prime victim material. Honestly, I didn’t very much like him. He was so, so needy and the fact that the phrase “he needs a keeper” was repeated more than twice in the book makes you understand just how much this character needs. Yes, in the long go he rises, blooms, and flourishes, but still Scott never made a lasting impression to me. I don’t think I ever found this one the least lovable. Nevertheless, he was quite developed as a character and the initial impression (it was NOT favorable) did change for me by the end of the story.

Now, what happened to Scott is that Ben showed up. Ben works as a bar tender at Collars and Cuffs, and is a Dom in training. He also is in the middle of so, so many things. He pays for his mother’s health care, pays for his sister, pays for himself… All he seems to do is pay around and never making ends meet. Ben has just said his goodbyes to his sister at the airport when he notices Scott’s distressed appearance. The Dom in him awakens and feels the need to help the poor creature, and so he does, taking him back at the club and together with Leo and Thomas, they take it upon them to help the needy boy. But of course, Scott will have to stay with Ben.

So, you see where the story goes and how the beginning of feelings/emotions will happen. There are aspects of the story that did so not sit well with me. One is the fact that Scott is a virgin. Totally a virgin… For me that fact is huge, because at some point he decides that he is submissive (that was obvious the way the story went) and he trains for one even as he’s still a virgin. His virginity is not downplayed though; it’s rather a huge deal and takes a big, big part of the plot/scene there. But still it somehow unnerved me, the blend of submission/virginity. I could not picture it. I simply read it and was trying to wrap my head around it. In the end, I did wrap my head around it, and whew, did I like the result. It was hot, surreal, but hot.

Ben though, while he made one heck of an impression to me, managed not only to fail, but also to really, really piss me off as a character. I think this was the one weak (really weak) point of this book, the fact that this main character did not manage to redeem himself in my eyes. Perhaps the authors though it would be enough for him to go claim Scott like a knight in shining armor, but no. Just. No.
In my eyes Ben is, was, and will be a bloody idiot of a man. The trust was broken, not once, not twice, but goddamn it, what freaking trust? He was one lucky son of a bitch to have such a naïve and needy boy, because a more seasoned sub would have dumped him to the curb. I wondered how the hell Thomas (his trainer) let him go with the shit he pulled. Ben was effectively the chinking link. He never managed to make a connection with me, and the frustration he caused me, dear me, I’m still breathing heavily from all that. He should not have gotten what he got, the jerk.

Yeah, excuse my rant. I thought I had relaxed enough today to be able to write this without seeing red with Ben. Apparently, I’m not. Authors, I really hate this character of yours.

Overall, it was a very nice book, quite enjoyable. The writing was easy in the eyes, the pace flowed like silk, and even though the characters frustrated me, the story itself held my interest throughout the read. The erotic scenes such as they were, heh, they appealed to me a lot. I found the edging a bit surreal mind you, because he was a virgin and come on, there is no way a young boy not trained to hold his orgasm, could possibly hold his orgasm like that, but damn, it was so, so hot anyway. And fun, yeah, when things finally took their path, the story became quite fun as well.

So, do I recommend it? Yep, I do. Bear in mind all the above and if you’re fans of the genre you might find this read as enjoyable as I did. Just don’t let Ben’s stupidity catch off guard. God that character. *groans*

Blurb: Twenty-one-year-old Lane Moredock finally has a normal life. Six months after he was wrongly made a suspect in his parents’ ponzi scheme, he’s settled down with his older boyfriend, Derek, and is working and attending school. But his happiness is threatened when his mother launches a Christmastime PR campaign to help appeal her prison sentence, and asks introverted Lane to be part of it.

Derek Fields has his hands full taking Santa photos, bird-sitting his sister’s foul-mouthed macaw, and helping Lane prepare for a television interview neither of them wants him to do. As he eases Lane through his anxiety, he worries that Lane sees him as a caretaker rather than a boyfriend, and that their age difference really does matter. He and Lane compensate for the stress in their lives by taking their D/s relationship to new levels–a relationship that Lane’s mother insists he should be ashamed of.

As Christmas draws nearer, the pressure builds. Pushy elves. Snarky subs. A bad fight. A parrot in peril. How the hell is Derek going to give Lane a perfect Christmas when the Moredock legacy threatens to pull them apart before the new year?

Review: The Boy Who Belonged is a continuation of The Boy series and should be read after The Good Boy.

We see the relationship between Lane and Derek continue and a little bit of normalcy start to settle, that is until Lane’s mother adds to the holiday stress by reinserting herself into Lane’s life. As if the poor boy hasn’t suffered enough, his mother lays on the guilt, shame, the disappointment, and the seeds of doubt that his relationship with Derek is healthy or even real. As if, I had not hated that woman enough before! Both Derek and Lane are left questioning their relationship, have their first big fight, and reexamine both their needs and demands. Both are eager yet worried about taking their D/s play further, although both seem to need it. Can Derek help Lane navigate his parents issues, and will Lane see him as a “Daddy” or the man who loves him? Both do some serious thinking about age, their D/s relationship and their future together.

This story brings the point home about family being whom you make it, rather than those you are born to. And about the importance of friends. The whole Christmas thing added another level of stress and guilt to all parties involved. Will Derek and Lane be celebrating a happy first Christmas together, or will the pressures of family, work, and relationships prove to be too much to handle?

I suggest grabbing this book and finding out!

Blurb: Introverted college student Lane Moredock is in a bad place. His mother has been arrested for securities fraud, his father is on the run, and everyone, including the SEC, suspects Lane knows where the missing millions are. Lane, with no money and nowhere to live, makes a desperate deal that lands him in trouble and leaves him unwilling to trust a so-called Dom again.

Photographer Derek Fields lost money to the Moredocks, and is as sure as anyone that Lane is guilty despite his claims. A chance meeting with Lane shows him there might be something more to the young man than arrogance and privilege, and Derek wonders if Lane might be just what he’s been looking for: a sub with the potential to be a life partner.

As Lane slowly begins to open up to Derek and explore his needs as a submissive, the investigation closes tighter around him. Lane might be everything that Derek wants, but first Derek needs to trust that Lane is innocent–and Lane needs to trust Derek with the truth.

Review: Reminiscent of the Bernie Madoff investment scandal of 2008, The Good Boy follows the plight of the pyramid scheme suspects’ heir apparent through the loss of his family, friends and lifestyle, the abuse at the hands of his idol, and resulting suicide of his abuser, Landon has lost it all. Wanting the world to see him for who he is, professing his innocence, and willing to do anything to start new, to survive, Lane is at his worst when he runs into Derek.

Derek Fields is angry at what Lane’s parents have taken from him, and he doesn’t believe the son’s completely innocent, he views him as part of his problem, so when he sees the little rich boy at a party he’s hired to photograph, he feels not sympathy but anger and vengeance toward Lane. Even when he realizes that maybe Lane is in over his head with Acton, he takes a photo rather than stepping up to help, and walks away. That guilt will haunt him through the trials to come, the fact that he could have saved Lane from harm.

We see Lane go through terrible abuse at the hands of what he thought would be his Dom, Acton, the wealthy real estate tycoon who also lost so much to Lane’s parents. Luckily, he escapes with his life, but may never trust again, and does not understand his need for control and submission, blames himself for the pain that was inflicted.

When Derek and Lane run into each other again, Derek’s guilt and attraction make him pay close attention to the suffering submissive boy in front of him. He sees not a weak privileged boy, but a survivor, someone who needs his help, and he takes care of Lane’s wounds, and attempts to guide and protect him from the media, his parents, and himself. But is it love or guilt leading Derek’s choices? Can Lane even allow himself to be put in a submissive role again? Is he really ready for such things? There is definitely a psychological drama to this story. We see different aspects of BDSM from Domestic Discipline, to simple bondage, brats and Doms.

There is so much growth, so many hurdles between Derek and Lane, and that to me makes this an interesting and worthwhile read. To see how they handle those roadblocks and grow to be what each other needs most. I enjoy reading the BDSM genre and this book brought something new, and something a little scary, both sides fighting anger, blame, and guilt before their relationship even got off the ground. I was worried that was too much baggage to add to the give and take, and trust of a D/s relationship but Henry and Rock make it work! A recommended read!

Review: So much to balance, so many changes are coming quick for our newly formed threesome. Insecurities abound, mainly those of Jack’s: insecure in his job, his place alongside Gray, his goals for the future…all of these things are in limbo, distracting Jack on the job, and getting him hurt, causing him to fall into a dark depression. But hope and inspiration are around the corner in the form of a teen at a youth shelter in need of a mentor.

Jack winds up learning more from that young man than it seems. Maybe giving him a new goal, and a new understanding of how important his relationship with Gray and Mason are. That Jack should not be afraid to stand proud for who he loves and what he finds truly important.

Among all these unsettling developments, are plenty of sexual frustrations, steamy scenes, and adventures…Fitting In… has a completely sexual meaning!!!

Review: This is my favorite in a collection of short stories available through Storm Moon Press called Written in Flesh. All the stories have the common link of ink…of the tattooed skin variety that is. Sometimes short stories are a great way to sample new authors and this one grabbed my attention immediately!

Alex Whitehall does an excellent job of creating believable characters and environments in fantasy/paranormal stories. I grew attached to Ellis immediately, and wanted to know so much more about this world of magic and familiars that the author has weaved. I enjoyed every minute of this story, of familiars, shifting forms, masters and mates, and wish I had more to read! I especially enjoyed the moments where Ellis curls up to sleep outside William’s door.

I’ll have to look this author up and find out what other literary marvels I can devour!
