(A Sniper 1 Security Novel, Book 2)
by

Nicole Edwards

Ryan Trexler has devoted his entire life to his family’s security business. And now that he’s slated to take over the reins for the company, RT knows that his life is only going to get more complicated. Add in the fact that he’s lusting over one of the men who works for him and RT knows that there are some serious tough times ahead.

Zachariah Tavoularis—nicknamed Z—has been employed by Sniper 1 Security for a decade. Despite being known as the most loyal enforcer outside of family, Z also has a reputation of being quite the playboy, though that was based more on rumor than fact. When an assignment comes up that forces the two of them to work together, Z knows it’s time to show RT he’s not the man he thinks he is.

Can they complete the mission, despite the fact that it puts them in a tenuous situation, bringing them closer than either of them ever expected? And will Z allow RT to convince him that they can never be together, no matter how much they both want it?

Review: I Loved this book!

Let me start by saying, Romantic Suspense is my genre of choice. I love a good mystery and throw in some raunchy sheet time, and I’m all over it. Never Say Never was the perfect mix of romance and suspense. I don’t read a lot of MF fiction, so I missed book one. I enjoyed this title so much. I will definitely be adding Waiting for Morning to my TBR list.

RT is a big papa bear. Because of a workplace romance gone badly, he feels the need to keep Z at arm’s length. Fortunately, neither Z nor any of the Sniper 1 team is on board for that crazy idea. Z is perfect for RT. They pretty much balance each other out. And did I mention that I love a pair of alpha switches. 😉

So while the guys are trying to not be together, they still have a job to do. An easy job goes to clusterfuck. I loved that the author had me suspecting everyone…just not the right one.

There is a great ensemble of characters. Nicole Edwards has set a stage with so many possibilities. Brothers coming home, management learning to delegate, and putting old snipers out to pasture are just a few of the subplots that really made this story enjoyable.

If you like your romance with a bit of mystery, meddling parents and sexy Alpha men, I can highly recommend Never Say Never.

In Miami, the alcoholic and mediocre F.B.I. agent is assigned to bring the witness Jackson O’Malley from Miami to Atlanta for what promises to be a minor federal trial. Tucker travels there to find that Jackson is an intelligent, belligerent and gorgeous young man who tells him the odds are against his ever showing up in court alive.

Tucker learns Jackson will actually be testifying against a Colombian drug cartel, but there’s one serious problem. It’s his twin brother Dylan who saw the murder and Jackson never saw anything. After a serious and almost successful attempt on their lives at the airport in Miami, Tucker learns that someone in the F.B.I. doesn’t care who Jackson is. They simply want him dead, and think that Tucker is expendable as well. Not knowing who they can trust, Tucker and Jackson find a car and start driving toward Georgia and the federal judge familiar with the case.

Somewhere during that long, dangerous drive, they both learn face the truth about themselves and those they trust, as well as their own inner strengths. With everyone out to get them, they’re forced to rely on instinct and ingenuity if they are going to make it to out of this thing alive.

Review: This is not the first book that I have read written by Shannon but it is the first romantic suspense. It comes off very dark and a bit too wild for me. I didn’t much care for it, even though the characters were a blast.

Jackson would do everything and anything for his twin Dylan. That included getting him out of trouble that would definitely get him killed. He just hadn’t expected to spend three days in jail, or the unexpected surprise of the FBI.

Ryan had lost his wife a little over two years ago, but he continues to feel guilty. So when he was asked by his boss to bring back a witness, he was surprised but willing. He just hadn’t expected to actually like the guy he was sent to get, nor the danger that was waiting. It would seem that Jackson was not the only one with surprises.

After reading this I will definitely look at twins a bit different. There are a lot of surprises and twist to this story. Now it wasn’t my kind of story but I got to say it is a blast to read. There is no hint on who is behind it all and when the truth came out my jaw just dropped. It is a story that will definitely have you guessing, looking at all of the angles and a bit turned on. I would recommend reading this story.

Review: This is an interesting book. I’ve read and enjoyed Jade Astor’s book in past and this one, The House on the Cliff, is no exception.

I’m going to keep this short so as not to give too much away, but I will start with the most obvious point to make: this story may be set in Maine but it reminds me strongly of the traditional English Gothic horror (though this is not a horror) or mystery books. It has all the important hall marks of the genre and may remind readers of a number of historical classics.

We start with an ordinary unemployed man (the poor/impoverished person), a creepy house (the Cliff House), a cold and windswept setting, a mysterious boss, a few shady characters, an apparently crazy person, a past murder and a mystery to solve.

The story follows Noah, who is unemployed and desperate for a job. Pure luck in deciding to pull over to be a Good Samaritan sealed his luck and got him a job and lodging, allowing him to move out of home. However, things aren’t as straight forward when he is hired by Lloyd Petersen, not only to work as a mechanic but also be driver and minder for his psychologically damaged son, Tristan.

With strange psychiatrists with shady morals and almost every other character being shady, Noah realises that there is more to Tristan and life at the Cliff House than meets the eye.

I’m going to give the book two criticisms, though. One, occasionally I felt like the story dragged a bit. Secondly, a number of the characters were rather underdeveloped. For example, Tristan’s friends Ryder and Sophia, they both seemed to just be there it seemed that they had no real purpose for a majority of the story. In addition, for the most part, other than Noah, none of the characters really grabbed me.

Mind you, I was watching Jane Eyre (BBC, 2006) at the same time I was reading and the parallel between Noah and Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre was oddly striking minus the poor orphan angle.

Review: Drama queen was such a fun hilarious read. If you like mystery with a touch of humor you will love this.

When bodies start dropping like flies, Nicky and Noah find themselves together trying to find out who is doing the murder and to prove it isn’t Noah. I laughed so much while reading this story. It felt like living a game of clue trying to figure out who done it, then find that person dead and trying to guess again. There are so many twists and turns, lots of innuendo and some sweet, hot off page sex with Nicky and Noah.

I was surprised I never did guess the killer!

I will say there is a lot of technical stuff about pays and directing and teaching in the beginning that I didn’t understand, but I just overlooked that and enjoyed the mystery!

This is such a fun summer read so curl up and enjoy!
If you are looking for a fun mystery, lots of humor, like actors, play directors and hot professors, sweet romance and mild, mostly off-page but sensual man-sex this is definitely for you!

Review: This is the second book in An Aaron Jaycynth Mystery. Though I didn’t read the first I truly enjoyed this book though a few times i was confused. The mystery itself was awesome. I felt myself slowly sitting on the edge of my seat wondering what Aaron and his team was going to do.

It seemed as though Aaron was a little out of his death with his personal life. I felt the BDSM scene was a little much and the story would have flowed more smoothly without it. Aside from that I enjoyed it.

Great read that draws the reader into a mystery that needs to be solved before anyone is killed, though at times I thought I had it figured out and other times I was scratching my head. At the same time Aaron struggles with his personal life to please a sub.

All in all it was really good.

Review: To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

I love the way Stormy can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by one of my favorite authors.

Cooper is a quirky detective with a funny streak a mile long. He caught my attention in the first book because of the way he cared for his friends. He had been kidnapped by a psycho six months ago and was tortured for several hours before his friends found him and saved him. What surprised him was that one of the guys that came to help him, was his lover from ten years ago.

They had been in love. That is, until Alec left him with no word. He had just disappeared and Cooper had even thought he was dead. He blamed himself, and then he got pissed. He had never forgotten him and in fact still loved the jerk. Now he was back.

Alec has always loved Cooper, but he left him out of fear. Fear that his father would destroy what they had. Now that his father had passed he wanted to find a way back to Cooper. So after rescuing Cooper, he stayed. He had to way to make up for the past and to see if they had a future together. For now he had to keep another killer from getting his hands on his lover.

I think out of all the characters in this series though, it would be Ben and Jordan that actually have my attention. The fact that Ben is so tender and cute, and Jordan is straight means that I cannot wait for their stories to come out. As for this one, all I can say is Stormy rocks.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Stormy puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up.

Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: I couldn’t wait to read Six Degrees of Separation after Six Degrees of Lust. I love a good mystery/suspense and this one has so many interlocking pieces, or so many little degrees of separation between the characters as the author intended. So many puzzles to solve, so many intriguing ways to link the characters together, to try to figure out who the serial killer is and why he’s killing.

Wow! I thought I had my thumb on the right suspect and Taylor keeps throwing new grenades over the literary fence.

As for the chemistry between Sam and Mac? Intense and hot as always….but Mac knows how to handle Sam….give him just enough line to snag himself. It’s not a big hook and a strong jerk that will reel Sam in, it’s letting the line out and ever so slightly leading him in the right direction that finally lands Mac his man.

Living their relationship by Sam’s “rules” seems to work, until Mac finds the right moments to break them, or allows Sam to break them all on his own. The two become more intimate, sharing their troubles as well as their vacation time. This book shows us Sam’s growth from hot and heavy sex with Mac to making love for the first time.

Throughout Six Degrees of Separation, we see the lives of Mac and his Texas boys overlapping with Sam and his New York serial killer case. Hint and clues keep getting dropped and more and more we see connection between Sam’s past and Mac’s current friends and business partners.

Of course we also get to know Sam’s team even better. I so want a book just for Logan! So many of the supporting characters have intense back stories, interesting identities, and I want to know how they got there, how their minds tick…Logan front and center.

I know I’m all over the place, back and forth with this review, but that is kind of how the book plays out. We are volleyed from New York to Texas, from Sam’s FBI team to the drama happening to Mac’s family and friends. Back and forth the web is woven until it gets so tight all the characters confront one another and the action gets crazy. The big chase to catch the killer brings in another character, Detective Callahan, who I hope gets more interaction with Logan…

There is a great twist and interesting surprise regarding the UNSUB at the close of the book that was strongly hinted at in the beginning, kind of a tell….but I can’t say more…I don’t want to spoil the action, the fun, the intensity that is the By Degrees series!

I can’t wait to read more…because yes, there will be more…I HIGHLY recommend to those readers who love a good puzzle and a mystery to solve.

Review: Zachary Gagewood is a photographer and also works at a bookstore in the small town he lives in. Applefest is the biggest event in Gresham. It seems to grow even bigger every year. This year is no exception. It seemed to me that the citizens entering the contest changed completely during the event. They were a lot quicker to temper and throw fits at times. I couldn’t believe people acted that way over an apple pie contest. I mean it’s just a pie.

I wasn’t quite sure what to make of Zachary and Kevin’s relationship. They seemed more like best friends to me than anything else. They also are both gay and live together so some of the citizens assume they are a couple. There are quite a few characters in this book so at times it was confusing keeping them straight.

I didn’t care for Mary Damron’s character at all. She seemed homophobic, self-centered and mean. She rubbed me the way from the moment she was introduced. While I understood her opinion I felt she was wrong in the way she said what she wanted to say.

An interesting story that I felt had too much details at time because I kept losing focus in reading it. However it was very well written with just the right amount of interactions between characters and mystery added an extra layer of appeal.

All in all it was a good read.

Review: Usually, I would start with a brief retelling of the story. But, while R.J. and Dean have the most page time, they are not the only main characters.

Serve and Protect is an unusual story, in that it is more of an ensemble piece than a traditional romance.

Basically, best friends fall for fraternal twins. None of them are looking for romance, but literally from first sight, they just click. All have to work through some issue to take a chance. And other than a couple of on page kisses, it’s pretty mild in the sex department.

You would think that with all the subplots going on, Serve and Protect would get a little messy, plot wise. Shelly Connors did an excellent job with both pacing and twisting to keep my interest. Truth be told, the typos and formatting errors in the first couple chapters were distracting. But, by chapter five, I was too invested in the story line. My inner Autocorrect kicked in and I really can’t remember but a handful of errors after that point.

All in all this was an excellent debut novel. Enough romance to be interesting, but also enough suspense to be thoroughly engaging.

As I’ve said before, one of the best parts of this gig is finding new authors. Shelly Connors has a strong voice and I look forward to more from this series and other titles from her in the future.

Review: When I first came across this book all it took was the title. I didn’t even bother looking at the blurb. Which turned out to be a big mistake. There is no action and it is a very slow love story. I was disappointed in this book. It however is a great story with characters that will draw you in.

However it just dwindled along and did not give me a desire to read it again. I want a story that is going to draw me in and keep my attention the whole time I am reading. This was predictable. I knew what was going to happen even before reading the next chapter. They don’t argue, there is no tension but a little bit about pictures and there was nothing there that was jumping out at me.

Sam was a politician’s favorite man. He had helped them get into office. However the man he worked for was retiring. He wasn’t sure what he would do from then on. On a night out to think, he meets a sexy seal. Then to his luck one of his favorite politician’s wants him to help her win the President spot. Here he was starting a new relationship and he was hardly ever there.

Blake wanted Sam and it would seem his daughter wanted the same thing. It would take some getting used to but it sure is hard being away from his lover. He had to remember his time serving and how his parents were with it, and then use that strength for his relationship with Sam.

It is a very good story with tender touches, long kisses and some hot sex. The thing is there is not a lot of sex in this, which is disappointing in one. Then it just flows in one direction with no attitude to it. The title is hot but misleading, which shows me to always look at the blurb. I would recommend this if you are for love stories, tender moments, and cute kids.

I hope that the next book has some action, danger or something in it to keep my attention.

Blurb: The truth is out there. Way, way, way out there!

Drew Lawson is racing against the clock. He’s got a twenty-four-hour window to authenticate the mummy of Princess Merneith. If he’s not at his boyfriend’s garden party when that window closes, it’ll be the final nail in their relationship coffin.
The last thing he needs traipsing on the final shred of his patience is brash, handsome reality show host Fraser Fortune, who’s scheduled to film a documentary about the mummy’s Halloween curse.

The opportunity to film a bona-fide professor examining the mummy is exactly the aura of authenticity Fraser needs. Except the grumpy PhD is a pompous ass on leave from his ivory tower. Yet something about Drew has Fraser using a word he doesn’t normally have to draw upon: please.

With no time to waste-and a spark of attraction he can’t deny – Drew reluctantly agrees to let Fraser follow his every move as he unwraps the mummy’s secrets. Soon they’re both making moves behind the scenes that even the dead can’t ignore…

Warning: Whoso shall ever open this tomb, er, book shall suffer the curse of the Pharaohs. Okay, maybe not. But set aside a chunk of time for marauding mummies, too many cosmopolitans, illicit sex in hotel rooms, and other non-academic shenanigans.

Review: Drew Lawson is a professor hoping to make tenure by publishing a paper on his authentication of the mummy Princess Merneith’s tomb. He’s travelled all the way Wyoming and pissed his long-term boyfriend off in the process to examine this mummy’s tomb. Unfortunately the doctor in charge of the museum has double booked the princess and left town over the Halloween weekend. Drew is forced to work with an extravagant reality show host, Fraser Fortune, who takes charge of the museum to film an upcoming episode.

The authentication of the mummy is just the tip of the iceberg for Drew and Fraser who wind up spending their down time in the quiet Wyoming town together chasing mummies, bar hopping and trying to figure out exactly who is in charge of the museum.

There was a sort of Boris Karloff feel to this story. If you are a fun of the movie, then you’ll figure little things about this short story out pretty early on. But it was a lot of hysterical, creepy fun hearing Drew and Fraser skirting around town in beat up converse, chasing the peeping tom mummy, getting wasted in a hick bar, then making out to the wee hours of the morning.

I do have to disagree with the part of the description that states ‘illicit sex in hotel rooms’… the sex in the story was simply hinted at, no descriptives and if you blink, you’ll miss it.

Narrated by Sean Crisden, need I say more? Sean C is one of the best narrators out there right now. I loved the voice he gave Fraser Fortune. At first you might think Fraser is an aging, pompous ass by the tone Sean C uses for him, but he’s not. He’s really an attractive guy that hosts a reality show and wears converse. I could almost picture the look on Fraser’s face a couple times when he was placating a slightly tippy Drew.

Overall I quite liked this story, well worth a listen if you are a fan of fun mysteries.

Blurb: A murder in a small Colorado town closely resembles unsolved crimes committed by a serial killer almost thirty years ago. Private investigator Teague Donovan learns of the recent murder and is instantly drawn to the case, because one of the victims in the past was his best friend, and he is determined to bring the killer to justice.

Hoyt Newman, the detective in charge of the most recent case, is none too happy with Teague’s interfering. At least not until a second homeless boy is tortured and killed. As the two men work together, they begin to develop an interest in each other — one that seems fated not to come to fruition since Teague is city, through and through, and Hoyt is definitely country to the core.

Review: Once more Edward has written a book that is off the charts and perfect. If there was a way for me to give it more than five stars I would do it. You get sexy men, men with guns, deranged killers, hot sex, action, dangerous situations and pure heat. Although I wasn’t so sure that I was not going to kill Teague myself. Sometimes the older you get the weirder you get.

Teague had been best friends with Chris and had the start of a relationship that is until Chris’s aunt found out. The bitch kicked Chris out and he ended up staying with Teague till graduation. Then he decided to leave. No one had heard from him, until two years ago when his body was finally identified. He had been murdered. Teague wanted to get the killer but until recently there had not been one that matched it. A few murders and then twenty years with zip, now the murders are starting again. He knew he had to get the detective in charge to recognize that it is a copycat serial killer. What he had not expected was the attraction to Hoyt.

Hoyt was a top country cop with an attitude. He didn’t much care to have someone stepping on his toes but damn Teague was out of this world sexy. He seemed to know what he wanted how to get it. Teague was a top-notch private investigator that owned his own company in the city. Now all they had to do is to catch the killer of young gay homeless men. Then the heat gets hotter for them both and they have to figure out how to make a relationship work with thirteen hours between them either way.

Now this is one story that I hope has a sequel or a book two because damn it was good. I also got a kick out of the kid that works for Teague. Keir is one young man who was a bratty matchmaker as well as an undercover agent. I loved him even though he was in and out of the story. You can tell within the first paragraph how well the story is going to go and if the author put their heart into it, and this would be one of those stories.

I had a blast with this story and would recommend it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. I think of all the romances and mysteries this one is my favorite. I do love a good book but when you have a story that has so meat to it is sold. Then you add in two men who carry guns and I am there. It was amazing and I cannot wait to read the next story Edward puts out.

Review: Once again Xavier has given me a story that topped the charts. If there was a way to give it more than five hearts I definitely would. I absolutely love Ethan and Gabe. Two hot and sexy cops that carry guns. What is not to love? This story is about their bachelor party. Hot strippers, alcohol and crazy times to be seen.

As with all of the books in this series, you will hear about another couple finding love. That is what I love about Xavier’s books. You don’t just get one couples story but two.

Ethan and Gabe were coming to terms with the fact that Liam was planning a bachelor party for them. It was a bit frustrating seeing as they were not sure how to do it since they were both straight to begin with and most of the guest are also straight. Ethan is afraid that it will look strange if they had female strippers and male strippers concerning his friends. Of course they had not a dang thing to worry about because our favorite guys are going to take really good care of them.

Now with Oliver he is straight but wants to take a bartending job in a gay club. He has also been going to school to be a doctor. All he had to do is to flirt and be sweet to the customers. That is all good until James starts coming in. Now he is trying to come to terms with the fact that he is attracted to another man. Things are looking up I would say.

James is married and a politician. His wife is a sour bitch who just wants to catch her husband in a relationship with a man. There is definitely no love between these two. So James has been going to the club, starts talking to the bar tender and knows he cannot go through with what his wife has planned. All he wants is out and his feelings for Oliver are starting to show. So now he has to keep the man he has fallen in love with safe.

Ethan and Gabe are called in to find a missing bartender, which for cops is a normal thing to do. However what they find is two men who have come to terms that they love each other. Sort of like them. All hot and sexy with love all mixed in.

What I have figured out with Xavier’s stories is while you are seeing Ethan and Gabe go forward with their lives. The other couple is a bit of the same kind of people. One is straight and the other is gay. There is a bit of friction with them, but they stand up to others for what they are finding is right. Even though it is perfect, there is always the knowledge that couples all have it in common.

I had a blast reading this and look forward to the wedding. These guys that are being written about are all hot, sexy and perfect for each other. I loved this book almost as much as the other ones. It is with a serious tone to it but there is quite a bit of humor mixed in.

I would definitely recommend reading this story. If gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the end.

I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Review: A welcome return to the Coda family! Several characters from the Coda series make an appearance in this story of first love and second chances. Our favorite public servant, Jared’s hubby Matt plays a big role investigating Lamar’s stalker and he introduces him to his sexy hubby Jared and of course my personal favorite the edgy and king of dry Angelo.

Zach is briefly in and out of scenes, eyeing Lamar, getting sexy with Angelo, and being his laid back self. I love how Lamar discovers this small gay community in Coda and it gives him strength, and he needs that to handle the violence against him as well as handling his ill-defined relationship with Dominic.

Dominic is a pretty well predicted case of closeted gay single dad. I already knew how the daughter would react but the author tortures him, and us along the way as Dominica deals with his fears of coming out and grabbing some happiness for himself and reaching for Lamar.

What I found most interested about this story line is the comparison of the two ways Dominica and Lamar react as they met each other initially and again 15 years later. Their first meeting was instant sparks, hot and heavy, a brief whirlwind of sexual experiences, and then they parted…and life rattle don.

The second time is intense, but drawn out, by Lamar’s reluctance to be intimate as well as Dominic’s need to curb his desires. The fact that they get to know one another again over days of Lego building is a fun twist, kind of like Angelo, Zach and puzzles.

Overall this is a sweet, scary, sad, and haunting, slow build to a long deserved happiness. Snapshots of what it’s like to live with depression, what it’s like to be in an emotionally abusive relationship, what it’s like to fear showing the world who you are, what it’s like to jump off that cliff, all of these come together to create a heartwarming read. It’s nice to visit with old friends, and introduce new characters we can all fall in love with.

Oh and I love that Angelo still jerks Matt’s chain, making him wildly jealous when it comes to Jared! A recommended read, can stand alone, but I say read the whole series!

Blurb: James Carter is forty-five and has been a police officer most of his life. He married young, lost her young, and his life revolved around his work and his son. Young is a recurring theme in his life, he thinks, when he meets the considerably younger AUSA Derek Moore on a case and finds himself ruled by the whims of his heart.

The road to love between a hotshot lawyer and a veteran cop was never going to be smooth, not in the real world, but there are criminals, misunderstandings, and a lack of communication standing in their way too. Both are so stubborn and convinced their interest is one-sided that it takes a murder case, exhaustion, and an adjournment for them to get their act together. They move fast after that, but they both know there’s no guarantee for tomorrow.

NeverTooLateLGReview: This is part of the 2015 Daily Dose- Never Too Late. I am not one for short stories and this one had potential but did not come through for me. For one it starts in the middle of something big and then ends with no ending. Oh sure the love is going great but what they were doing was not. It kind of sucked to have such a great story but not start it the way one would think. I was not impressed with this story.

James is a police officer and his intent was to catch the bad guy. Once he caught them then the attorneys would come in and do their job. At one time he had married and had a son. When his wife died things slowed down. However he has taken an interest in Derek. Too bad neither one has a clue that the other one is interested in the other. When Derek gets hurt, James will do everything to protect him. Now if only they could figure out their lives as well as they do their cases.

I can’t really go into some parts of the story without giving it away. However it has great potential if there was more of a beginning to the story. I can see the ending being left open but not the beginning. In all other thoughts it was a bit confusing to me. It was just a little mixed up in certain parts. Other than that the story will be a great one if it doesn’t come off rushed.

There’s something to be said for maturity and experience, whether it’s a second chance at love, a May/December romance, or finding a soul mate later in life. These stories prove that it’s never too late for new love. Summer reading fun! More than 360,000 words of romantic fiction in 30 stories that would sell individually for a total $87.70.

Review: This is part of the 2015 Daily Dose- Never Too Late. This one was definitely hot and I had a blast reading it. There is nothing better than a man in uniform, and in this case a hot and sexy police officer with a gun. You can’t really go into why you love a story in detail when they are shorts because you don’t want to give it away. But damn this was my kind of story and I would love for this to be a novella. I want more details and more story with this.

Evan was a police officer who had not only a heart but a conscious. He knew his fellow officers did not think that way. So when one of them was being a total ass to Beau he wanted to step in. Beau had a problem with petty theft but the officer was doing all he could do to make Beau’s life nasty. When Evan came home to find an injured Beau he knew he had to help. He just didn’t expect it to lead where it did.

I had a blast reading this and can guarantee that you will too. It is short, hot and very tempting. I do wish that it had been expanded into a more intense story. It would have been perfect then. It is a great start that is for sure. I loved it and look forward to reading more by this amazing author.

Nora is a new author to me, so I look forward to more of her stories.

Carter even offers to help care for the boy.

Review: Carter Schunk is a good cop and a computer genius, so he winds up spending more time at his desk than on the streets, much to his dismay. When he finally gets some street time he answers a call for a domestic disturbance, but what he finds in the home deeply disturbs him. A waif of a little boy who has been neglected and abused told he was bad and forced to live in squalor. The traumatized toddler quickly takes a shine to Carter, who is kind and gentle with him. And then the Ice man walks through the door.

Donald Ickle works for social services. A dark past that he keeps to himself made Donald want to help children that wind up in foster care, like he did. He’s seen a lot in his line of work that would make anyone question their sanity, and he copes by hiding behind a tough exterior. Hence his nick name around the department, Ice.

Carter experienced that cold exterior firsthand about a year ago when the two of them met and shared a… rambunctious weekend together. Donald turned that icy personality on full blast for Carter once their weekend was up. But there is nowhere to run to now, Donald and Carter are forced into close quarters again for the sake of the little boy who has them both wrapped around his little finger.

Little Alex is the heart and soul of this story. That little man seriously stole the show! I cried like a baby when he told Carter his name was ‘piece of shit’. I wasn’t kidding when I said he was horribly abused, so be prepared for that. I give Grey some serious props for presenting it in the classiest way possible within the story though. And then there is this twist at the end that made me tear up a little again, I didn’t expect it, very surprising and brilliant.

And while this story may initially present itself as an insta-love story, you have to consider that Carter and Donald have actually known each other for a year, and neither has forgotten the intensely passionate weekend they spent together. Carter knows exactly what he wants, Donald. It will take a lot of convincing, love and attention to get Donald to accept he feels the same way though. He’s terrified to give his heart to another man who will duck and run when he learns the truth about Donald’s past. So Carter has to prove to Donald that he’s in it for the long haul.

Not to sound like a broken record, but I am continually amazed with Grey’s imagination. He constantly comes up with fresh new story ideas to keep his readers entertained and chomping at the bit for the next story. Fire and Ice is a little bit dark and very detailed, descriptive with the storyline.

The characters are so perfectly flawed, three-dimensional and just real, which gave them depth. I devoured this book in a matter of a few hours. It’s passionate, intense, sexy and endearing. I think this just became my new favorite Andrew Grey book, will definitely be reading this one over, and over again.

I think it goes without saying, but I will, fans of Grey are going to be blown away by this one. If you enjoy a good love story with a bit of grit and grime, a hard-fought happy ever after, romance and a sexy alpha male with a protective streak, you’re going to want to grab a copy of this one.

Blurb: Who said nerdy can’t be sexy?

Self-confessed gold digger Dylan Price is cooling his heels as a waiter at a trendy West Hollywood restaurant, waiting for the sugar daddy of his dreams to walk through the doors. Someone rich, sophisticated. Preferably old.

Bookish Simon Wainwright couldn’t be further from Dylan’s ideal. Aside from his terrible fashion sense, Simon suffers from a glaring lack of a Beverly Hills mansion. And he’s barely over thirty!

Dylan, however, isn’t made of stone. Coincidence, an obscene candle, even Simon’s dorky cardigan compel him to give the shy academic a very special birthday gift, which Dylan files away as a one-night stand. But when Dylan’s quest lands him in hot water, he runs to Simon to hide.

The two take off for Las Vegas, where Dylan takes upon himself to give Simon a complete makeover. For reasons he can’t comprehend, Dylan begins to reevaluate his life—and what he holds most dear. But with danger not far behind, he might be too late.

Warning: Contains a nightclub where the staff is as hot as the food, a waiter with a smart mouth (in more ways than one), a nerdy college professor, Vegas “boylesque” shows, and lots of smexy times.

Review: Dylan Price is on the lookout for the perfect man. Someone rich and willing to lavish Dylan with precious things, someone to keep him firmly grounded within the lifestyle he wishes to become accustomed to. For now he bids his time as a waiter. When a group of girls bring their adorkable friend Simon in to celebrate his birthday, Dylan takes notice and decides tonight might be the night for Mr. Right now.

Simon Wainwright is smart, bookish and impeccably dressed with his crazy bow ties. The college professor is gay and single and not so much loving it. He’s never found a guy that really sees him or appreciates his quirkiness. But Dylan sees him, and treats him like a person. They share a pretty sexy night, but then Dylan is gone by the time Simon wakes up.

When Dylan lands in hot water, the only safe place he can think of is with Simon. The two go on a whirlwind trip to Vegas that is supposed to be just friends and lying low, but attraction and chemistry eventually change the rules. The danger Dylan ran from has followed them though, and in an attempt to keep Simon out of the line of fire Dylan does what he does best, he runs.

This was such a fun story about two polar opposites that find what they’ve been searching for in each other. Dylan thinks he wants a sugar daddy, but what he wants is stability, a family, a home. And Simon, who has walked through life almost completely invisible, shines like a diamond to Dylan. Their differences are what draw them together. There was some danger and suspense as well with Dylan being chased over something he doesn’t even realize he has.

I really liked the opposites attract in the story, and then the little twist in the relationship. I can say no more, you’ll have to read for yourself. I didn’t buy the gigolo angle at the start though, not sure why, it just read wrong for me. But overall I really enjoyed this story about finding love in unexpected places.

Review: This is book three in this series and you need to start with book one.

This book and the others are all about Alex and Jesse. You will see how they meet, get together, fall in love and look at their future. Erin always gives me a story that has quite a bit of humor to it. I am always on the lookout for stories that will make me laugh. Alex and Jesse seem to do that for me all the time. It does have its serious moments though.

Alex and Jesse are taking one of their famous breaks from life. This time they end up at a bed and breakfast that looks like something from a fairy tale. The lady that owned it was sweet, but not all of the others that were there were. However it was their time away and Alex had a big surprise for Jesse. That is put on hold when someone from Jesse’s past starts shooting at them.

There is a bit of twist there that will intrigue you. In fact this whole little story will keep your attention for a few minutes.

I always have a blast reading stories by Erin. She gives you an entertaining story that has great sex and a bit of danger added in. I would definitely recommend reading this, trust me you won’t be let down.
