Oliver and Samuel’s relationship is fairy-tale perfect. They share a gorgeous house in Antwerp, go out with their friends every weekend, and count down the days to their dream wedding. But their happy ending is shattered one late night, and just like that, Ollie is left bereft and alone.

The months that follow are long and dark, but slowly Ollie emerges from his grief. He even braves the waters of online dating, though deep down he doesn’t believe he can find that connection again. He doesn’t think to look for love right in front of him: his bisexual friend Thomas, the gentle giant with a kind heart and sad eyes who’s wanted him all along.

When Thomas suddenly discovers he has a son who needs him, he’s ill prepared. Ollie opens up his house—Sam’s house—and lets them in. Ollie doesn’t know what scares him more: the responsibility of caring for a baby, or the way Thomas is steadily winning his heart. It will take all the courage he has to discover whether or not fairy tales can happen for real.

Review: I have a hard time finding my words when it comes to writing a review for this one, and I had to wait a few days after finishing it, because I didn’t want any fucking tears on my laptop while writing the review.

This book is angst heavy people, really, really heartbreaking, and I wasn’t expecting it. I realized after reading the blurb that Oliver lost the love of his life (Sam) but never in a million years did I imagine I’d be crying my heart out while “living” through the whole series of events that led to Sam’s death.

I was hoping I didn’t get to meet Sam in this book, I thought for sure he would be already dead at the beginning, and once I realized that was not the case, I REALLY hoped I wouldn’t like him very much. WRONG!!! I LOVED HIM!!!…. for as little as I got to know him, I loved Sam and thought he was perfect for Oliver. There was lots of crying people, like “tear-your-heart-out” crying, because that’s what it felt like when Sam died and Oliver submerged into his grief.

When the period of grieving got a little easier to read through, I seriously doubted that I’d like Thomas and Oliver together. Sam was just too perfect for Oliver and I couldn’t imagine Thomas taking his place. I gotta give it to Indra, because she managed to make me love Thomas and accept him as a suitable replacement for Sam.

In fact, I really didn’t have to compare them to one another because to me, Thomas wasn’t any sloppy seconds. The dude is hot as fuck, and he’s been in love with Oliver for years,. Since the very first time they met. Thomas kept his feelings to himself because he realized what Sam and Oliver had was special,.  I can’t imagine how bad it hurt him to be close friends with them, watch them be so in love with each other, and know deep down that the only person he’s ever loved will never his.

And then…. there’s a baby! I’m telling you people, there’s nothing hotter than a half-naked Thomas holding a sleeping baby on his chest! Whew, be advised ladies, your hearts will melt and your panties will catch fire, because Thomas+baby is just that adorably hot! There was some humor after the baby came to live with Thomas and Oliver, because nasty baby diapers and projectile vomit on unsuspecting men is freaking hilarious, and after all that angst, the humor was more than welcome.

I love angst in my books, it’s usually a must for me, but this was a dash too much even for me. Or maybe not exactly too much angst, but not enough happy times to overcompensate for all the suffering I’ve done. My philosophy is if you’re going to make me bleed for your books (go ahead, I like it) give me at LEAST the same amount of happy, joyful, and don’t forget sexy times to make up for it. I didn’t feel like I got enough happy, and I definitely didn’t get enough sexy. I know Indra can write a sex scene hot enough to catch my IPad on fire, so I was disappointed we didn’t get more “set-the-sheets-on-fire” times.

Another thing that prevented me from giving this book 5 stars was Cleo, Imran, and all that drama that came from Thomas sleeping with Cleo (relax, it was before him and Oliver got together). This was an angst-heavy book to start with, so I felt that all the secondary characters’ drama was unnecessary and unwelcome. Please don’t think this is one of those dramatic books that make you role your eyes, because it’s really NOT, but even the realistic drama added too much heaviness to the book.

Overall this was a great book, nicely written, but don’t make the mistake of starting it without a ton of tissues handy. And yes, there’s a HEA (a beautiful one, full of smiles and warm feelings), so you won’t be suffering in vain.

Blurb: Can a priest and a rock star obey love’s call?

Seventeen years ago, Jasper Hendricks and Nicholas Blumfeld’s childhood friendship turned into a secret, blissful love affair. They spent several idyllic months together until Jasper’s calling to the Catholic priesthood became impossible to ignore. Left floundering, Nicky followed his own trajectory into rock stardom, but he never stopped looking back.

Today, Jasper pushes boundaries as an out, gay priest, working hard to help vulnerable LGBTQ youth. He’s determined to bring change to the church and the world. Respected, admired, and settled in his skin, Jasper has long ignored his loneliness.

As Nico Blue, guitarist and songwriter for the band Vespertine, Nicky owns the hearts of millions. He and his bandmates have toured the world, lighting their fans on fire with their music. Numbed by drugs and fueled by simmering anger, Nicky feels completely alone. When Vespertine is forced to get sober, Nicky returns home to where it all started.

Jasper and Nicky’s careers have ruled their lives since they parted as teens. When they come face to face again, they must choose between the past’s lingering ghosts or the promise of a new future.

Review: I promised myself I would stay away from books where the main character is a priest, because the last one I read was a major disappointment. But when I realized Indra was one of the authors, my promise went to hell in 3 seconds flat. I’ve read all of Indra’s books and I loved every single one of them, so I went ahead and requested this one for review.

I’m now emotionally exhausted, I have a major book hangover, but I’m smiling like a lunatic because I simply LOVED this book! I’m a big fan of books where the MCs are childhood friends, I love books in which a couple gets their second chance to get it right, I adore rock star books; this book had it all, and it’s now one of my favorite books ever.

Leta Blake is a new author to me even though I’ve heard about her… I know, how outrageous! The only explanation I have is that I was never drawn to her books, but I think maybe that’s about to change. Leta and Indra together are simply brilliant!

The writing in this book is done in such a beautiful way. I could picture every detail, every landscape, without being bored to death by overly descriptive scenes. The characters are complex, riveting, fascinating, easy to relate to, and written is such a way, that I found myself emotionally invested with them from the very first page.

I’m not gonna lie, this was a very long book, but the story flows beautifully, and there was never a moment I thought this book should have been shorter.

Make sure to be mentally prepared for a ton of angst, because there’s so much emotional angst in this book, I drowned in it at times; and yet I didn’t think it was too much. It was touching and it evoked many emotions, I was smiling and crying, I got goose bumps and in the last half I was certain I was going to catch fire.

Nico Blue aka Nicky (to friends and family) broke my heart but he was my favorite character. Abandoned as a baby by his birth mother and left to die alone in a dumpster, Nico now suffers from attachment disorder and keeps the whole world on the outside, unable to make emotional connections with his adoptive parents or anyone else…..except Jasper (aka Jazz).

Jazz and Nicky were best friends since childhood, became lovers as teenagers, and separated and both went their own way when they were 17. Nicky became Nico Blue, a guitarist and song writer idolized by fans, a drug addict who couldn’t live a day without the drugs that helped him cope with a life without Jazz in it.

Jazz felt his spiritual calling from a very young age, and even though he loved Nicky with all his heart, there could never be a choice between God and Nicky. He’s very passionate about his job, but nothing is more important than the homeless LGBT teen shelter he runs. Those kids are his life, and he would do absolutely anything to keep them safe.

When Nicky returns to their hometown and they reconnect for the first time, all the contentment Father Jazz in his current life was blown away by the powerful connection and attraction he still has for Nicky. I loved their interactions, from the innocent, vulnerable friendship they rekindled, to the passion and love that refused to be ignored.

And holy crap, who would’ve thought the proper innocent Father Jazz, could turn into a sexy, filthy, dirty-talker??? The sex doesn’t happen until the last third of the book, but when it does, you’ll see it’s worth the wait. It was so hot and passionate. I thought I was going to go up in flames.

The secondary characters are complex and beautifully written; Nicky’s parents were incredibly supportive and loved him unconditionally, their relationship with Nicky was very touching. The band, the congregation, Father Andrew, the LGBT kids, they all came together in a flawless way that brought depth and complexity to the story.

This was one of the best books I’ve read this year, and I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Review: There was one line from a song that kept playing in my head while reading this masterpiece:

THE HEART WANTS WHAT IT WANTS BABY!

This couldn’t be more fitting for Isaac and this book.

I’ve been waiting for this book for centuries it seems. Yes I know I’m not known for my patience, and I also know it’s only really been a few months, but to me this wait felt never-ending. Was this book worth waiting for? Absolutely!!! This book has earned the 5 stars for brilliant, thoughtful writing.

Fated was more focused on the paranormal aspect than the relationship between Isaac and Hart, and after getting teased with a possible relationship between those two amazing characters, we were left with the feeling that fate has other plans in store for them.

Fragmented picks up where Fated left off and there’s more development and progress in the tentative relationship between Hart and Isaac. We get some AWE-worthy moments, and some hot, steaming sexy ones, and I can’t express how much I enjoyed Isaac and Hart together! Of course there were moments my inner perv was doing cartwheels, because the sex between Hart and Isaac definitely turns from sweet and emotional to filthy and hot at the drop of a dime.

I love it when we get the chemistry and emotional connection between characters without bypassing the filthy sex to make it all complete.

Although Fragmented is more focused on Isaac and Hart’s personal relationship, there’s plenty of mystery to keep you entertained. There are murders, and mysteries that Hart works on, and I thoroughly enjoyed that part of his life as well. There’s also plenty of heartbreak, because the price Isaac pays for his healing is a cruel one indeed.

I was fuming there for a while, especially when a new character is introduced; a hot young lawyer who Hart meets while investigating a series of murders, and there’s so much attraction there, that it made me fear a new love interest when things between Isaac and Hart were put on hold. There is no cheating, so rest assured Hart and Isaac don’t do anything they’re not supposed to. Ummm, well…let me rephrase that. They’re not doing anything they’re not supposed to with anybody else, because there’s this steamy scene in a movie theater that even Isaac admits Hart should be arresting himself for. It’s hot people, really hot!

This was an amazing book, and I can see where this story is going. There are enough hints to figure out what/who Isaac has become, and I’m left once again squirming to read the next part. So now I officially start my next few centuries of waiting for book #3. *pout*

Blurb: Two towns flank the looming Shadow Mountain. A dark myth of the Predator drifts through the dense trees, a tale Police Lieutenant Hart never paid much attention to. When one unresolved death follows another—some people dying without discernible cause while others are clearly, and often brutally, murdered—he can’t ignore it any longer. Truth may lie in myth, but this one is spread to deceive everyone. The Predator exists, but he’s not entirely human. Hart will have to find the connection between the mysterious figure and victims with only one thing in common: a faint tattoo on the backs of their necks, a mark left when someone healed their incurable diseases.

Isaac Lasko has been in love with Hart since he moved in across the street seven years ago. He’s been helping Hart renovate his home, and their friendship grows more intense with the years, but Isaac can’t help wishing for a deeper bond. When he finally breaks through the lieutenant’s armor, the mystery surrounding the Predator threatens them both. Help will come, but at a price.

Review: I don’t normally read paranormal books, but I really loved this author’s other work, so I knew I was going to give this a chance. This book was AMAZING!!! It kept me to the edge of my seat the whole entire time and I felt a level of anticipation throughout the entire book that I haven’t felt in a long time. I thought this was the perfect combination of suspense, intrigue, heartbreak and romance with a touch of paranormal that transformed this book from good to extraordinary. I can’t wait for the next one in this series!

Hart is a Police Lieutenant who’s investigating a series of mysterious crimes and miraculous healings, and his journey is full of intrigue. Hart is very attracted and somewhat in love with his neighbor and best friend Isaac, who is a lot younger than Hart. When Hart’s estranged father dies, he takes a short leave to bury him and take care of everything that’s left behind. Only the Predator strikes again in the town Hart’s father lived and Hart finds himself in the middle of an emotional storm. Hart is a deeply flawed character, he has a lot of personal problems that he has to work through, and his journey is absolutely heartbreaking. I liked him a lot, even though at times I felt like slapping him upside the head while asking him “why the hell did you do that for???” He was so frustrating! And other times, like when he buried his father, I wanted to give him a big hug because all that emotional pain was breaking my heart.

Isaac seemed like a very sweet, loving character. He was a very good friend to Hart and he loved him so much. We don’t get to see much of him in this book, because most of the interactions he has with Hart are through the phone; but seeing him through Hart’s eyes made me adore him even more.

The secondary characters were amazing, especially Hart’s temporary partner, Freddie. Freddie is a kick-ass chick, smart and witty, and I loved the banter between her and Hart. Toby, the orthopedic surgeon who played a major role in this book, well him I am not entirely sure I liked. Or maybe I would’ve liked him more if it weren’t for his involvement with Hart. The times when they had sex, I absolutely hated Toby since I was team Isaac and all that. I really think I could have liked Toby a lot if Hart would’ve kept his dick in his pants. Ugh!

Seriously, this book had it all; great flow, complex, imperfect characters, humor, heartbreak, suspense, mystery, VERY hot sex (even though it wasn’t only between the characters I wanted). I recommend this book to everyone, because it’s worth reading.

Review: This is a sweet little story which has a number of elements jumbled into it. First and foremost, this is about Gregory Peck (not after the actor) and his love life, or lack thereof. Despite the fact he has at least two men at work are interested in him and he is receiving some mysterious gifts being delivered to his office. The secret admirer adds a bit of mystery – good mystery. But then Greg’s ex and his antics, add some suspense into the plot. On top of all that, there is also the craziness of the Christmas season and complicated family dynamics from more than one character.

Greg is a wonderful character, I would say realistic because he doesn’t have high self-esteem, but he at least knows his self-worth. Greg’s French boss, who he has had a crush on, is completely charming, as is another manager in the office, Ashley Montgomery. I won’t touch Greg’s ex, David so I don’t give away anything. At one point we had the makings of what could have been a horrible love triangle (or square?) but thankfully, that wasn’t strictly the case and had me cheering for the happiness of multiple characters.

However, I still wonder about the happy ever after for one of the men, too.

Quite honestly, I don’t want to go into the characters more than this because I don’t want to spoil anything. Particularly since the blurb is overly abundant with details of other main character aside from Greg. How about I throw a bone or whatever cats like? Because Greg has, a cat called Curlywurly and that had me thinking of the chocolate bar by the same name (or at least in Australia and UK).

One thing I can gush about without giving away is anything is Greg’s mother. She was the star of a delightful subplot, which featured her finally moving on years after the end of her marriage to Greg’s swine of a father.

In the end I like how, let’s call him, Prince Charming not only brought Greg out of his shell, but also brought the best out in him. Greg started out rather quiet but transformed into a vivacious character who wasn’t shy about his affections.

Review: This book was beautiful. A novel of self-discovery, this novel goes to show how hard life can be for one that has struggled all their life. When you meet Jason, he is in a state of dark loneliness. One that brings him to a house that he doesn’t expect to have a future in. and as the novel progresses, he finds himself falling for and interested in a special character.

This novel had brought me to tears, got me to laugh, and made me smile. Indra truly knows how to make someone smile and provide a goodness to their heart. The characters were solid and strong, the plot was thick and fantastic. Overall, I would give this book a perfect score.

Indra certainly knows how to show the dark side and realistic view of growing up and moving on. I would highly recommend this novel to everyone that wants to read something new and heart-warming.

Blurb: Halcyon Hush is a harsh town in an even harsher world. The apocalypse left behind a scattering of tough survivors who are finally starting to rebuild their lost civilization.

There is no room for men loving men, not when the population needs to grow. So Doctor Ira Ellis does his duty, lives his life if not quite content, then at least quietly. He has his work, he has his small home. What he doesn’t have is the strength to resist temptation when it comes, in the shape of Doctor Richard McLean.

Review: The world’s population has been decimated. The feeling of desolation and despair still lingers even after two centuries. What remains of humans is a harsh race, forced to do unspeakable things in order to survive. After two hundred years, Halcyon Hush is one of the few cities standing. Battling raids of rogues who do not aim at prosperity rather live in the present and aim to destroy. Halcyon Hush still stands and grows.

People are obligated to father at least two children so that humanity will have a chance to survival. Men like Ira are not exactly hunted or illegal anymore, but neither are they looked upon with a tolerant eye. Before they used to be instantly killed; now they are simply banished. The notion of being with another man has never crossed Ira’s mind. He craves it, oh yes, like a man in desert craves water, but he’s resigned himself to a life without a man’s touch. Until Richard comes along…

Am I conveying the feeling properly I wonder? This story made me wonder indeed. It was so short, yet in such a short length, the author managed to spin such a wholesome tale. This is perhaps the second or third work I read from this author and every time I think the same. She can write wonderful, engaging stories that carry you away with them and leave you short of breath. She managed to do the same with this one too.

Although it was a bit dark and the future of humanity was still quite fragile, in the end, this relationship gave the entire read a feeling of hope. I loved this story and I sure hope to see more from this author in the future, perhaps a proper novel to delve in.

Strongly recommended!

Blurb: Robin goes out to have an itch scratched and ends up with more than he bargained for in Tyler. Or maybe he didn’t bargain enough.

Robin Lloyd has it all, he’s successful, makes good money, and he’s handsome enough to get laid without having to think twice about it.

Tyler Anthony, the lay of the day, catches him off guard in more ways than one. Robin has no idea he’s taking a prostitute home, or that he’s going to become addicted to the guy, even if the sex they’re having could hardly be mistaken for affectionate.

Review: Holy Mother of Hades and all the freaking Deities together, what a sweet, hot, freaking erotic read.

Alright, after that exuberant exclamation I’m in control of myself. Hah! Seriously, though, I loved this book. What is there to say about a story that has you engrossed from the first line? It was fantastic.

Robin is a self-assured man. He’s made his life from scratch and reached all the way to the top. Yes, he has no personal life, but whenever he wants something, he gets it.

So he’s out on the prowl for something easy, someone to spend his night, or a couple of hours with, lacking the drama of separation and the awkwardness of the morning after.

As the music of the club beats hard and unrelenting, he sees a man utterly irresistible. Gorgeous, even if he can’t make all his details in the lousy club light, the man has his immediate attention, and when he asks him if he’s willing to pay the price to get what he wants, Robin fails to see the meaning behind the phrase. He wants this stunning creature that has his blood soaring, and he wants him know. Even when the info slams home and he is being told loud and clear that Tyler is a hooker, even as his whole being convulses from shame that he’ll have to pay for sex, he can’t stop himself. But everything changes when he has the most amazing night of his life with the man and realizes that for Tyler he’s just a trick.

An exquisite story that begins like every other hooker/client story, but changes and twist right at the moment when you think you got it all figured. Brilliantly written, drenched in sensuality and slightly tinged with desperation you can almost feel excluding from Robin as his heart starts getting lost in the whirlwind left from Tyler’s antics, this story will literally get you hooked.

Repeating myself, I know, but I loved it. I would have loved some more info on Tyler. I admit he’s still a bit of a charming stranger to me. I would have loved to see the reasons of why he treated Robin the way he did (hence the whacking of a heart out of this), I would have loved some more background story for both MC’s, but I understand that the short length of the book did not allow for greater elaborating.

As it is, I strongly recommend it to the fans of the genre, to all of you who search for a gripping story that is fast and erotic and will enslave your attention for the duration. It’s well worth it.
