Old wounds, new directions, and a forever worth chasing.

Malcolm Montgomery was a history teacher and track coach until an accident left him with two broken legs. He’ll recover, but life has knocked his feet out twice now. He’s not sure if he’s ready to try again, especially when it comes to love—and slick guys like Brian Kenway. Still, he needs help mentoring the school’s LGBTQ society, so he asks Brian to take some responsibility.

Brian has been hiding behind his reputation as a liar and a cheat for so long that he actually believes he’s that guy—until his nephew, Josh, turns up on his couch, tossed out for being gay. Brian has never considered being a father, but he knows all about being rejected by loved ones. Now Brian wants to be more: a partner for Mal and a role model for Josh.

But when Mal’s recovery is set back and the sad truth of Brian’s past is revealed, the forever they’ve been chasing seems even further from their grasps. It’ll take a rescue effort to revive their sense of worth and make Brian, Mal, and Josh into a family of their own.

Kelly Jensen

A neglected resort, a lost chance at love, and one last chance to renew forever.

Frankie and Tommy once dreamed of traveling the world together. But when seventeen-year-old Frank kissed Tom, their plans ended with a punch to the jaw and Frank leaving town without looking back. Thirty years later, Frank’s successful career as a journalist is interrupted by his uncle’s death and the question of his inheritance—the family resort where his childhood dreams were built. When he returns to the Pocono Mountains, however, he finds a dilapidated lodge and Tommy, the boy he never forgot.

Tom’s been keeping the resort together with spit and glue while caring for Frank’s uncle, Robert—a man he considered father, mentor, and friend—and his aged mother, who he refuses to leave behind. Now Robert is gone, taking Tom’s job with him. And Frank is on the doorstep, wanting to know why Tom is still there and why the old lodge is falling apart.

But before they can rebuild the resort, they’ll have to rebuild their friendship. Only then can they renew the forever they planned all those years ago.

A new town, a new neighbor, and a new chance to build a forever.

Charlie King is doing fine. Sure, he’s a widower raising a teenage daughter who just got her first boyfriend, his book series isn’t writing itself, and he has a crush on his new neighbor — the guy next door. But everything’s just fine.

Simon Lynley is doing better. He moved to Bethlehem to fall out of love and rebuild his career. An affair with his neighbor isn’t part of the plan, but the attraction between them is too hard to ignore.

But when Simon’s ex follows him to Pennsylvania seeking reconciliation, and Charlie’s life starts to feel like a video on repeat, everything comes apart. Charlie worries that he’s failing as a father, and Simon is a distraction he can’t afford. Meanwhile Simon doesn’t know if he could survive being left again, and he hasn’t come all this way to make the same mistakes. But despite their fears, it’s only together that they’ll find the strength to slay old foes and build the forever they’ve been waiting for.

Life can be harsh and lonely in the outer colonies, but miner-turned-farmer Abraham Bauer is living his dream, cultivating crops that will one day turn the unforgiving world of Alkirak into paradise. He wants more, though. A companion—someone quiet like him. Someone to share his days, his bed, and his heart.

Gael Sonnen has never seen the sky, let alone the sun. He’s spent his whole life locked in the undercity beneath Zhemosen, running from one desperate situation to another. For a chance to get out, he’ll do just about anything—even travel to the far end of the galaxy as a mail-order husband. But no plan of Gael’s has ever gone smoothly, and his new start on Alkirak is no exception. Things go wrong from the moment he steps off the shuttle.

Although Gael arrives with unexpected complications, Abraham is prepared to make their relationship work—until Gael’s past catches up with them, threatening Abraham’s livelihood, the freedom Gael gave everything for, and the love neither man ever hoped to find.

Review: Gael is a man desperate and at the end of his rope. Living in a city under the ground he has never seen the sun or anything above ground. On top of that he is indenture to the Trass family for debts he and his brother accumulated. Sent on a mission to take out a target with a rifle he fails to make the killing shot. Scared he runs to his friend Price for help to get off the planet as far as he can get.

Abraham puts a companion request on a site and he wants someone long term. He’s lonely. As an ex miner turned farmer his life takes on the same routine everyday on a planet where the sun is deadly so he lives in the crevasses. He’s made a good life and now seeks companionship. When he sees Gael’s profile he knows he’s the one and sends a message.

But not all is as it seems. trouble is following Gael and will intrude. Not to mention the harsh living on a planet where one mistake can mean death. Unforgiving storms, deadly poisonous mists plus people looking for a way to advance or make someone pay. I loved this story. It was not just about the relationship between these two men and the little girl who follows Gael. There is so much more to it. I found it to be quite entertaining and at several times edge of your seat worthy.

Fantastic read.

Blurb: There are over two hundred thousand fence posts between Syracuse and Boston. Henry Auttenberg likes numbers—it’s his job—but he isn’t going to count them all, even if the view outside the rental car is less confounding than the driver, his attractive but oh so obnoxious colleague, Marcus Winnamore. It’s Christmas Eve, and Henry would much rather be home with his family. When the blizzard that grounded their flight forces them off the road, however, he’s stuck with Marc until the storm passes—or a plow digs them out.

As the temperature outside plummets, the atmosphere inside the car slowly heats up. Henry learns the true reason for Marc’s chilly distance—he’s not exactly straight… maybe… and he’s been fantasizing about Henry’s mouth, among other things. Confession laid out, Marc is all for sharing body heat… and more. Henry isn’t interested in being an experiment, but as the night and cold deepen, he could be convinced to balance certain risk against uncertain reward.

Review: This has always been a dream of mine, to be stuck in a snow storm but it usually includes a nice cabin and a roaring fire.  Now one would hope that there is a sexy man to get stuck with, but in my case I would be happy with a book.

Mark and Henry have gotten themselves in a bit of trouble.  Instead of sticking it out at a motel, these two decide to drive in the middle of a snow storm. You guessed it, off the road they go and right into a bit of snow.  So these two are stuck and it is getting colder outside.  However it seems like things inside the car might just heat up.

Now I am not one for those gay-for-you characters or even one who has never had sex before.  Because one can say that first times would be quite painful in the back of a car.  This story was told mainly from Henry’s point of view so you really don’t see Marc’s.  It is a very fast paced story with a lot of meat to it for such a short story.  Now it is a very sweet and romantic story with a bit of danger to it.  However I just couldn’t really get into it as I should have.  I am afraid that this story was not for me.

Review: I really enjoyed reading about Jake and Max. Max is a beaten down young man who does not fight back when confronted. When Jake his neighbor from upstairs finds him beaten and bloody he wants to help. What starts as one man helping another grows into something more.

Jake is gruff yet has a soft side with Max. I found Jake’s past intriguing. The fact that he was in prison did not deter me from wanting to know more. I think the way he helped Max gain confidence was awesome. He was there for him

I simply adored these two as a couple. They both had strong wills that they were able to deal with things as they happened and overcome them to the best of their abilities.

Great read.

It’s been a week since a Christmas Eve blizzard changed the course of Marcus Winnamore’s life. Plan A is now Plan B, and the first item on his new agenda is taking Henry Auttenberg on a date. They’ve been invited to a New Year’s Eve party, and Marc is counting down the hours until midnight… until he can kiss Henry in front of his colleagues and friends.

Things don’t quite work out to plan. Finding the elevator out of service, Marc and Henry check the stairs, only to choose the wrong door, and become locked in the basement. Close quarters once again make for close conversation, and as they explore every avenue of escape, they also explore the deepening attraction between them. For Marc, this isn’t an experiment. Will he still feel that way when he has to admit to someone other than Henry that he’s gay?

Blurb: Solitary mystery writer Julian Wilkes doesn’t want a pet, but his sister persuades him to visit Lingwood Animal Rescue, where he is immediately taken with a large ginger tabby cat. Before he can settle into the joys of cat ownership, however, he discovers something very unusual about his new companion.

Macavity Birch is cursed. By day he is a large tabby cat. At night he can be himself—a human male with ginger hair and oddly yellow eyes. He didn’t mean to end up in the animal rescue, but he never meant any harm when playing the prank that resulted in his curse, either. Happily, Julian adopts him. But while exploring his host’s home, he discovers the diary of a long-dead relative.

Unfortunately, not all of Mac’s ancestors are dead and buried. His great-great-great-grandmother is very much alive, and she’s a powerful witch who doesn’t take kindly to the sharing of family secrets. When Mac reveals himself to Julian in order to save him from bigger trouble, he achieves just the opposite, plunging Julian deeper into a magical mystery with him.

Review: Julian is a very strange man.  His sister had to drag him down to the Animal Rescue to pick out a dog, just because he doesn’t leave the house a lot.  She figured it would help him be less solitary.  He is an amazing mystery writer who quit writing because of his stupid ex-boyfriend.  However what he comes home with is a cat, and not just any cat.

Mac is a cat shifter, a beautiful tabby cat with an attitude.  He is cursed to stay all day long in his cat form, all because he is a feisty troublemaker.  He is also a very distant relative of the witch that had ended in trouble.  His great-great-great grandmother cursed him and is ticked off to say the least.  She is trying to protect the family from finding out what they are.  The problem is Julian is asking questions she will not want answered.

This story was a blast to read.  It had so much humor in it, and you can tell that it would just from the cover alone.  I must admit that Julian is just a bit stiff, but damn the man loves to talk to the cat.  He also didn’t react like one would when they come across a shifter, which shows how odd he is.

I did like the story quite a bit and can’t wait to see what other stories this author has out.

Blurb: Paul Summerfield is stunned by the gentle reminder it has been over a year since he and his partner, Evan Akkerman, have made love. He vows to take Evan out for Valentine’s Day. Dinner and sex. Lots of sex. There’s only one catch—he’s supposed to be in San Francisco that week cataloging the art collection of an important new client. No problem, he’ll just change his schedule and cut his trip short by a day.

In San Francisco, Paul struggles with regrets and the fear his love is slipping away from him. Every call to Evan seems only to prove the distance between them is increasing. All this, and a key piece of his client’s catalog is caught up in customs. To keep their Valentine’s date, Paul will have to choose between the career he’s built over fifteen years and the man he’s loved for just as long.

Review: Evan lets Paul know one morning that it’s been a year since they have made love. Paul knows that Evan never complains, and since he brought this matter up it weighed heavy on him.

Paul promises to make it up to Evan on Valentine’s Day by taking him out for dinner, a pleasant walk and making love afterwards. What Paul didn’t expect was to be stuck in San Francisco, waiting on customs so he could finish a job. When little things begin to click Paul gets nervous that he may be losing the one thing more important than his work.

Paul has to choose his lifetime of building up his reputation and career or the love of the man he has spent as much time with.

When Was The Last Time is a very heartfelt story. It makes you think about your own relationship and things we take for granted. I really liked both characters a lot. The story is a character-based one with lots of growth, a bit of suspense as we wait to see how this plays out and a sweet romance.

I was torn between low and moderate on the heat rating but chose moderate though there is only one hot sex scene because of the length of the book.

If you like short and sweet romance, with a good character driven the plot, Valentine’ Day stories and some mild/ moderate man-sex, I think you will like this one!
