Blurb: Rolly has waited ten years to claim his mate. Now the wait is over, and he’s coming home.

Rolly has waited patiently for his mate. When he first met Erdwin, the boy was still a child. Rolly felt nothing but compassion for him back then, but Erdwin came of age five years ago, and Rolly’s stayed out of his life in order to give Erdwin time to experience life.

Erdwin never fit right in his skin. He didn’t like what he saw in the mirror. It didn’t match how he felt inside. As a shifter, he was stuck with the body he had. Surgery wasn’t an option for him. But Erdwin found a way to accept himself—by embracing the part of herself that felt like her true nature. She struggled with it, but with her family’s support, she became Edie, the young lady she was meant to be. She stopped worrying about her parts, and concentrated on her heart.

When Rolly, a powerful shaman, moves back home to the pack, Edie is transfixed. He makes her nervous—and arouses her. But what would a man like him think of a woman liker her?

Edie’s about to find out, and she will have to be stronger than ever to help fight off a threat to her pack, to her mate, and to her family.

Review: This is the fourth book in the Spotless series. I have to say that Bailey Bradford has done it again with a fantastic addition to the Spotless series. So much emotion running through this book that it took my breath away. I literally cried reading how Edie, a shifter, struggled with herself and bawled like a baby at the packs reaction to her coming out so to speak.

Edie was such a sweetheart yet strong when it counted. I was very impressed with her determination to be herself no matter what anyone else said and was very proud of her.

Rolly was so great with reaction of Edie I cried yet again. I have never cried so much while reading a book but it was a happy cry. Amazing twists and turns as the pack deals with several things going on at once. This pack is truly a family that stands by each other no matter what the circumstances are.

Rolly and Edie made such a great couple and they both seemed so much stronger when in the presence of the other. Rolly was so sweet to wait until Edie was ready. He was strong yet sure of himself. His powers as a Shaman were simply jaw dropping.

The whole book was well written and takes you on an emotional journey and a rescue mission for Edie’s sibling in Siberia. Action packed, intense scenes and some hot sex made for an amazing addition to the Spotless series.

Two of my favorite characters are in this book so that meant some hilarious sarcastic comments from Cliff and Bobby. This book has everything adventure, action, drama, mystery and love. I can’t wait for the next book to come out. Absolutely loved this book and highly recommend it to everyone.

You have to read this book.

Blurb: When the right love uncovers the wrong secrets…

Hey, man–you a chick or a dude? Dealing with the same old boring question is a downer for college drop-out Ray Fayette, especially when it’s asked by the low-tipping, over-privileged students at the Ellery Diner.

When six-foot-five, muscle-bound straight arrow Wyatt Kelly publicly smacks down a fellow frat bother for caveman behavior, Ray’s interest is sparked. Wyatt’s not-so-subtle attraction sparks a few other things too.

But getting to know Wyatt proves dangerous. His sexy smiles and smart questions slide under even Ray’s prickliest defenses. Worse, his academic mentor happens to be Ray’s ex-stepfather, the dictatorial jerk who just kicked Ray out of his house. Again.

Wyatt suggests a housing arrangement that has surprising appeal—there’s space available at his frat house—but he’s unaware just how complicated Ray’s “identity issues” are. Ellery College kicked out Ray for a reason—a reason that could deep-six Wyatt’s academic career and Ray’s newly hopeful heart.

Review: Edie Danford’s “Uncovering Ray” brings us into the genderqueer world – a world where the individual does not identify as either male or female. Is Ray a boy or a girl? Does it matter? Perhaps it wasn’t supposed to, but it did matter to me. I wanted to just go with the flow and be this really cool person and just feel like “Well that’s just Ray, not a ‘he’ or a ‘she” but nope. I fell into the trap. The whole book, I wanted to know. Is Ray male? Is Ray female?

Wyatt succeeded where I failed. Apparently he took one look at Ray and that was it for him. While I applaud and appreciate this, I never felt I got a true glimpse into Wyatt’s head in that regard. I wanted to know if Wyatt questioned himself, questioned Ray’s gender. That being said I loved Wyatt. I loved the idea of a guy being just that cool. He seemed older than his years… whereas Ray seemed younger.

The story itself is of Ray, who Ray is, with and without Wyatt. Ray is messed up, much like many young adults that find themselves in the unique position of not identifying specifically with one particular gender. Ray’s history is a little vague at times, but you do see the struggle, the battle with family, society and self to be, quite simply, Ray.

While the first half of the book seemed to move a little slowly for me, it was the lead in, the build-up for the conflict and strife ahead. There is romance and sex; there’s angst, upset and resolution, all of which surprisingly had me in tears, both happy and sad. I’m not much for book crying, but Ray tugged at my heart.

It is eventually revealed whether Ray is female or male.

Surprisingly, as much as I wanted to know, the reveal defeated the point for me. If it really didn’t matter, then Ray should have remained… Ray.

Kudos to the author for some really difficult accomplishments – while I’ve read other genderqueer books, this is the first that did not inundate me with excessive use of pronouns, did not have me stopping every few paragraphs to wonder whose point of view I was reading. A main character without a specific gender role is not easy to read, and really, for a good part of the book, there was no male, no female. There was only Ray.

The start of this series has definitely captivated and held my interest. I’ll be eagerly awaiting the second book, simply because I want to read whatever it is that Edie Danford is writing next. If you’re looking for straight up MM or even MF this is not for you. If you’re willing to read something different and think you can keep an open mind, take a chance and give this a go. It challenged me; I think it might challenge you. Who knows? You might come out of the read looking at things a little bit differently; I know I did.

Heidi Belleau and Rachel Haimowitz - The Burnt Toast B&B 500x750

 The Burnt Toast B&B

 (Bluewater Bay 05)
 by

Heidi Belleau and Rachel Haimowitz

After breaking his arm on set, Wolf’s Landing stuntman Ginsberg Sloan finds himself temporarily out of work. Luckily, Bluewater Bay’s worst B&B has cheap long-term rates, and Ginsberg’s not too proud to take advantage of them.

Derrick Richards, a grizzled laid-off logger, inherited the B&B after his parents’ untimely deaths. Making beds and cooking sunny-side-up eggs is hardly Derrick’s idea of a man’s way to make a living, but just as he’s decided to shut the place down, Ginsberg shows up on his doorstep, pitiful and soaking wet, and Derrick can hardly send him packing.

Not outright, at least.

The plan? Carry on the B&B’s tradition of terrible customer service and even worse food until the pampered city boy leaves voluntarily. What Derrick doesn’t count on, though, is that the lousier he gets at hosting, the more he convinces bored, busybody Ginsberg to try to get the B&B back on track. And he definitely doesn’t count on the growing attraction between them, or how much more he learns from Ginsberg than how to put out kitchen fires.

by

Vicktor Alexander

In an alternate universe, in the country of Angland, 1814, the gentry live lives of culture and class. It is a time of courtships, marriages of convenience, and titles, where scandal can ruin an entire family. Gender lines are blurred, and making a good match is of utmost importance. Children are born to men and women, which has led to the acceptance of same-sex marriages.

Lady Lucien Timothy Hawthorne is shocked and angry when he is betrothed against his will to Lord Heathcliff Eddington, III, the Duke of Pompinshire. While drowning his frustration at a popular gentleman’s club, he meets “Robert,” a gorgeous older man whom he sleeps with as “Timmy,” regardless of the potential damage to his reputation.

After their liaison, Lucien corresponds with Robert via letters left at Remmington, and they decide to elope. Before they can get away, Lucien meets his betrothed, Heathcliff, who he is surprised to discover is also his beloved, Robert. Both men desire a marriage of the heart, but they find out that sometimes a marriage of convenience can turn into love under the right circumstances. But Lucien has a secret, and Tlondon isn’t as safe as they once thought.

Review: I’ve read a few books, which feature a transgender main character, but this is the second of such books that has really got to me with actual emotion. I really sympathised with both main characters. Although, I have to admit that personally in my mind, this particular in terms of transgender relationships is only second to Carol Lynne’s Hawk’s Landing, part of the Cattle Valley series. But that is totally off the point.

This story is a standalone story as part of the Exception to the Rule series. However, we do get a quick update of the previous couple featured in book 1, Chris and Kevin. Quite happily, though, not only do we hear about Chris and Kevin’s relationship, we also find out how much they have progressed as a couple. Very satisfying to read.

His Fair Lady starts a few years after Almost Heaven. Chris’s younger brother, Mark, is now in college. He’s also a bit of a ladies’ man. He spies a girl in class and becomes intent on pursuing her. That girl is Josie – was once Joe. She lives full-time as a woman now. She was incredibly lucky to have very supportive parents, who let her be who she is and never held her back. She also has a BFF and guard dog I love, Kyle. (Kyle’s story is in book 3 and I reviewed it before reviewing this title).

One thing in college that brings them together, other than a couple of classes, is the college theatre production, My Fair Lady, hence the title of the book.

Both Mark and Josie have their share of drama but everything is done to the point without, thankfully, the addition of any drama queen hissy fits. Really, don’t like those. The relationship between Mark and Josie reminds me of the awkward start of relationships in teen years. In that way, everyone can relate to that, particularly some awkward make out scenes. However, their relationship also shows the maturity of long-lasting relationships.

I like, in fact I prefer, the fact that Josie’s identity as a female wasn’t handled with all the shock and fanfare I’ve read in other books. Instead, all the emotion was based on Josie struggling to be herself under the fear (though I’m not sure I would call it fear) of being found out and the consequences in terms of Mark and basically everyone at college. That to me also felt realistic.

Blurb: Richard Carr has the kind of life most people would envy. Partner in a major Los Angeles law firm, married to the man of his dreams, Richard seems to have it made – except for the lie he’s been living for the past forty-odd years.

On special nights, in the company of kinky friends, Richard disappears inside Renee, his sexy, dominatrix alter ego. Strong, sassy, and flirtatious in her red and black corset, Renee is who Richard truly is on the inside – and who he longs to be outside of the dungeon.

Their one true point of connection remains in the dungeon – in the person of Jase Hewitt, the submissive they both share. But when a devastating tragedy shatters Jase and sends him running to his Masters for comfort, it quickly becomes apparent that Robert’s love for Jase extends far beyond their Dom/sub roles…

And Renee faces a choice – abandon her journey toward becoming the person she truly is inside, or risk losing the man she loves.

Review: Richard Carr, a litigation partner, secretly longs to be Renee full-time. Tired of pretending to be someone he’s not deep down but terrified to come out as well. His husband Robert, an architect, is hesitant but gives him his blessing. So Renee begins hormone treatments unfortunately this causes problems between her and Robert. As Robert wasn’t as comfortable with the actual transformation, as he lead Renee to believe.

It was a very unique story that I have never read before. It broke my heart that Richard struggled so badly with who he yearned to be and what the world wanted him to be. But I’m very glad in the end everything worked out. No one should have to hide who they are inside. Intense dungeon scenes with flogging, whipping, and a very hot sex scene between Robert and Jase, a friend and a future Dom.

All in all, it was a good read.

Review: There is so much to say about this novel. It is amazing, sentimental, personal, surprising, and then some. Once the reader starts going for it, they won’t be able to stop reading it. There is too much to like for someone to not like it. I couldn’t stop reading it once I started.

Elizabeth has a lot on her hands. Everything from the longing to be a male, to the fact she is loving family. She wants nothing more than to be like the boys. To fight in a battle that can very well take her life with no issue. When she does something that is less than acceptable, she dives into what her brother with the intentions of showing the honor and courage he did.

The storyline remained a constant surprise, amazement and never a boring moment. The more I read, the more I liked this novel. And I could tell the author put everything he could into writing this book. He had a clear knowledge of what he wanted and went for it. And it shows through the novel.

Altogether, I found this novel to be beautifully written, strongly executed and a perfect novel if there ever is. I would highly recommend this novel to everyone that wants to read a strong novel that shows a sense of care and the courage one needs to keep going when times get bad.

Blurb: Micah McGhee has struggled all his life against prejudice and abuse. Forced to drop out of school after the death of his mother, Micah works full-time to support himself and his alcoholic father. One night, on his way home from a party, Micah’s hard life ends when he’s beaten to death by a street gang.

Three days later, Micah awakens with godlike abilities granted by the alien device that resurrected him. His work helping the downtrodden and performing miracles soon earns him worldwide attention—including the notice of conservative Reverend Vaughn Titus. Micah’s friends, devout Christians Antonio and Monica, along with Reverend Titus, urge Micah to use the power of the artifact to impose Biblical rule on the world. But Micah is all too familiar with how Christian law treats LGBT people, and he opposes the idea. When Antonio, Monica, and Reverend Titus gain access to the device, Micah must risk everything to stop them from forcing their religion onto everyone on earth.

Review: Micah has had to fight for what he has, dropping out of school and getting a job to survive after his mother died and to keep a roof over his dead-beat fathers head Micah has avoided the pitfalls that others have fallen into. But, one night the actions of another has Micah being brutally beaten and he awakens to a whole new awareness. Resurrected by a mysterious orb, Micah now has Godlike powers and he sets about easing people’s pain, it isn’t long before he falls foul of the Government and the devote worshipers of religion. When the orb falls into the hands of his friends Antonio, Monica, and the fervently devote Reverend Vaughn Titus, Micah tries to convince them of the wrongness of their plans for Christian rule and now Micah must risk everything to stop their religion from being forced on the world.

So first of all I have to hold my hands up and admit I was drawn in by the title and the great blurb and I’d secretly hoped for a couple of tips, but alas unless I find an alien artifact my bid for Universe domination will have to wait. So to the story, this is a brilliant story that is very down to earth and has great characters that are engaging and entertaining. We start out by discovering a lot about Micah, his life, his family and what he hopes for and we quickly take him to heart. As we follow him through the story we are drawn to his level-headedness seeing how he uses his new powers for good and not for selfish gain (well, with a few blimps for revenge), nobody is below his help until his good deeds start to backfire and draws unwanted attention.

Micah is a fantastic character who is superbly written, each character we come across comes to life, but it is Micah who sticks with me. While I remembered this was a transgender story I kept thinking it was going to be a secondary character because Micah was just a boy, a brash cussing boy, but when the big reveal came it really knocked me off my feet because of how well written Micah was. Antonio, Monica, and Titus were great in their roles but annoyed the hell out of me for their belief that if everyone followed the bible then the world would be a better place… I nearly laughed my ass off when it backfired. I also really liked that even though Micah tried his best for others he learned that no matter how much good you do people still wanted more; you heal a few sick and more people demand to be healed, you stop a famine and give them a bountiful land and people will go to war over the spoils.

Starting this story I really didn’t know what to expect but I was extremely pleased with the entire story, it led me on the journey of a young adult who knew what he wanted to do when he was given godlike powers, we follow him through the ups and downs, the repercussions and the pitfalls and the final solution.

I recommend this to those who love young adults finding their paths in life, science fiction that is intriguing, characters that are brilliantly written, and the startling discovery that just three bible verses could wipe out humanity.

Only, Ms. Hamilton was hiding a secret; a secret she knew she had to reveal. She just didn’t have a clue how Julian would react.

What is Ms. Hamilton’s secret? Will Julian’s grades improve? Find out, as Julian begins a journey that reveals as much about him, as it does the beautiful, yet mysterious, Ms. Hamilton.

Review: Julian is failing badly in his Psychology class. He just can’t concentrate on the work when all his attention is fixed on the lecturer, fantasizing about what he would do to her if he had a chance. Ms Hamilton has plans to make Julian concentrate and makes him stay after class, dishing out his punishment isn’t enough though but Ms Hamilton has a secret and she doesn’t know how Julian will react.

This very hot short gets the blood pumping. I really can’t tell you much more than the blurb says, but this story is very hot, while having a touch of angst and also being a story of discover for Julian. Ms Hamilton is everything that a man could want, hot, gorgeous, sexy, and intelligent but she hides a secret that could ruin her life if discovered. Julian fancies the arse off his teacher and jumps at the chance of some private tutoring; he discovers new things about himself and Ms Hamilton’s secret isn’t as off-putting as he first thought.

This is a very erotic hot story that definitely hits the spot if you are looking for a sexy fix, it’s well written and the characters are interesting. I recommend this to everyone who loves transgender stories, finding love in difficult situations, really hot sex, and a hot caning.

Review: I found this book to be not that great. It was somewhat good, but it wasn’t that great. The characters were pretty decently created and the storyline was very adventurous, but the plot was almost…cliché. I just didn’t really enjoy it that much.

I would recommend it to those that love action books and trannys.

In one city, a Narsoreal bond-matcher has set his sights on a small band of male and female prostitutes in desperate need of salvation. Shannon’s Solace: Every day is a struggle for survival, and Shannon often feels like everything is out of his control. He longs for someone to come into his life and offer him some peace, be the one he can lean on, and maybe someday forgive him his past and love him anyway.

Derek’s Bliss: His every breath a struggle, Derek attempts to live out the remainder of his life with some measure of dignity while also preparing his little family of misfits for a time when he won’t be there for them. Review:  Living on the fringes of society, they are ‘The Unwanted’ and this is their story.

This series is centered around an unusual group of friends that consider themselves a family.  And an alien race, Nasoreal, that have taken solace on our planet. The aliens traveled light years from their planet to ours because they were gay and thus not allowed to bond on their planet. They are allowed to look for a bond mate among earths unwanted and forgotten members of society in exchange for their knowledge and medicines that can cure most human diseases.

Shannon aka Shots, is a gay male prostitute that sells himself in order to provide for himself and his family. One of his clients turns out to be not only a Narsoreal, but the one that is in charge of matching bond mates. Alimund is immediately taken with Shannon and knowing they are a match, he begins the bonding process. Will Shannon accept the bond, or reject Alimund and the prospect of a life where he doesn’t have to turn tricks to put food on the table?

Derek, the head of this family of misfits, is dying. He has VIS one of the few diseases that the Nasoreal were not able to provide a cure for. While attempting to secure a residence for his family he was raped by the previous owner, thus contracting the disease. When Alimund meets Derek he brings him back to his home with the hopes of finding him a Nasoreal mate that can possibly prolong his life through the bond. Enter Joss. The tall, dark and handsome alien that is the angel of Derek’s dreams.

Joel is the baby of the family. Everything that Shannon and Derek have done is to protect and shelter him, to ensure he would never have to endure the pain they have on the streets. The elder men can’t move forward with their bond mates unless they are assured that the rest of their family will be given the opportunity as well. Alimund has found Joel’s match, a gentle giant. Joel quickly learns that not only does he like to watch, but he likes to be watched as well.

Ambrosia is a full on diva bitch wrapped up in a man’s body! Derek, Shannon and Joel have to all but twist her arm, but she finally concedes and comes to Alimunds home so she can meet her match. Things don’t go quite so smoothly this time around when a gay alien that has traveled a long way to be able to mate with a man thinks he’s been mated with a woman. I really don’t recommend pissing off the diva, but that is exactly what Ambrosia’s mate does. Her fight or flight instinct kicks in and she is going to make a run for it. Unless her intended pulls his head out of his ass.

I love the concept of the world in these stories. It’s so commonplace in our society to put labels on people like ‘unwanted’ and assume they don’t deserve anything. It was such fun to read each installment and see the relationships unfold then grow. My favorite part was Alimunds key to knowing who was bonded, through the eyes. I’ve always said the eyes are the window to the soul, so I like Jameson’s twist on soul mates in this story. I also liked the transformations that a couple of the aliens took on to please their mate.

I highly recommend this series of short stories. Jameson is descriptive not only with the sex (which is hot, steamy, passionate and sometimes corny, but good) but with each character and their story. How they got where they are and how they are overcoming it. My personal favorite so far is Joel’s story, but I can’t wait for the final installment, Renzo’s Redemption in July!

Review: a revelation for me, as I have not had the opportunity to read many stories involving a post-op transgender woman. From both POV’s the story unfolds, allowing us to touch the broken, scared, nervous, revealing and beautiful parts of their lives and their growing relationship. Venetia has lost almost everything of her past life, a huge sacrifice she’s willing to make to live her life whole, complete as a woman. Roy faces the heartbreak of losing his brother, asking for forgiveness, and getting over some of his own bias to pursue love. I admit to looking up a few facts for myself, but I think that is the point of this story…to come to a better understanding, to realize that our differences make us human, and to think beyond gender, to that human soul beneath it all. For such a short story, it packs a lot of thought and some steamy romantic scenes as well. Recommended read.

Review: Okay, so this book is divided in two. First part is “Who I AM” and I quite literally loooved it. That is the story of a little girl born in the wrong damn body, and as it appeared in the wrong family, too. Her father dies early and from that moment on her life becomes a living nightmare. Her brother is bound on making her life Hell and her, while seeing the abuse and violence, turns a blind eye. The only reason Desire survived her childhood at all was her surrogate family. The family of her best friends who always kept an eye on her, and her grandmother. Who while alive couldn’t help her much, did so by her death, leaving Desire a huge amount of money that translates into her independence. The first part of the story follows on with Desire going from relationship to relationship, hardships along the way and abusive men in her life all leading into her finding who she really is.

And while I loved this part of the story I also got an extreme headache with the flashbacks and the narration. It took me a while, but I finally figured it out that the whole book is written as a script. Told in an almost clinical way, as if the narrator is hiding behind a peephole seeing it all and leaving all feelings and emotions in your imagination. Something that makes Desire’s story even more horrific in your eyes.

However there comes part two of the book, “What I Want”, which lost me completely. I simply couldn’t see it or get attached to the story. This part starts with an Oprah show where Desire is a guest. Her life has taken off and she is now a star, but things are quite different from what part one made you think they were going to be. This entire part is so full on fast-forwards and flashbacks that it requires you to constantly be on your toes and full focused in order to follow the story. It irritated me a lot. I was too invested in Desire’s life with her husband that this entire back and forth hit on my nerves and didn’t let me enjoy it. To add more to my irritation the author focused so much on the outfit Desire wore that I had this feeling of reading “Sex & the City” with Carry Bradshaw’s obsession with trend marks.

The People’s Choice Awards Desiré’s Dark Brown hair is bunned at the base of her neck as she stands in a Fuchsia Dalia MacPhee One-Shoulder Ruffle Dress with Multifloral Aldo Shurkus Pumps in between her sisters Monica who’s wearing a Navy Adrianna Papell Polka Dot Halter Dress with Pink Enzo Angiolini Show You Pumps as her Blonde wavy hair falls past her shoulders & Rachel in a Red Laundry by Shelli Segal Draped Jersey Gown paired with Red Charles David Complex pumps with her Blond hair in a high bun.

And that flows on in the entire second part of this book and really made me want to close it and stop reading. Let’s just that part two is like reading a TV show something that doesn’t appeal me at all.

So in the end, I liked only half of this book. The end itself was the predictable happily ever after, after a lifetime of struggles for the heroine who finally, finally got all she ever wanted.

Review: Joe only dates transsexuals and finding one on short notice to take to a company party is difficult, until his best friend suggests he use an escort agency. He has the time of his life with Star and is desperate to see her again but she leaves the agency. So Joe begins in his quest to track her down and uncovers a viper’s nest of abuse, crime and murder.

This is a pretty good story that is extremely erotic with multiple partners. Joe is gay and his preferred partners are transsexuals, when he needs a date for a party he ends up hiring someone from an agency and ends up wanting to spend more time with Star. But she vanishes and he tries to find her, but he gets threatened to stop looking for her. With the help of his best friend, Angel, Joe goes undercover to find Star and the danger she might be in, and discovers that it goes much further than a disgruntled agency boss.

This story isn’t the most well written book and there are a few inconsistencies that throw you a bit (this is the author’s first published book), but it had something that kept my attention, and no, it wasn’t the hot sex so get your minds out of the gutter (although there is a lot of it and it was well played out). It was the way that Joe became so entranced with Star after just one night and would do anything to find her again, and I do mean ANYTHING. it was the way that it surprised you with its escalation from being a, lust at first site/have to see her again, to the minefield of a slimy sexual underbelly of the transsexual escort business with the danger and abuse involved.

The story is written from Joe’s POV ,so you do get to know him a little bit, but I wanted to know a little bit more about him and Star. I liked the comradely friendships that developed between all the transsexuals and Joe and his friends.  The way they supported each other, even when hateful jibes were thrown their way, and the way that they came together and acted to rescue themselves and each other. I did think Joe was slightly insane at first, when he began his undercover plan and the danger he put himself in… no sorry I still think he was insane *nods head*.

So I have to recommend this to those who love transsexual/transgender stories, danger, slight suspense, twists, a plethora of erotic, hot, steamy sex (and a huge group sex scene), love in awkward circumstances and a happy ever after.

Review:  This is the first transgendered book I have read and there were some parts of the story I found fascinating and others that I wasn’t thrilled with.  Since this is a very short story at only 21 pages it seemed like we didn’t really get to know the main characters very well.  Sloan was born female but was never really comfortable in her own skin.  She came out to her parents as being transgendered and it was not accepted well.  Sloan began living as a male and the one person he could rely on no matter what was his gay best friend Jace.  The two of them room together at college and Jace is there for Sloan through all the doctors’ appointments and emotional breakdowns that arise.  Sloan does not want to go through the surgery to become anatomically male because of the possible complications. Slowly, Sloan begins to realize that his feelings for Jace are more than that of a friend but doesn’t think that Jace would be interested since he is anatomically female.

Being my first book that deals with the issues of a transgendered character, I admit that I am not sure how things would work between someone who is a gay male (Jace) and someone who is anatomically female (Sloan).  I had trouble with that angle but the deep feelings that Jace and Sloan have for one another are very obvious.  Jace is the rock that has held Sloan up for years and even though the physical part of the relationships moves rather quickly, I did like that they had a history together.  I wish the story was longer so that I could have better understood the issues that each of them had to deal with to get to that point in their relationship.  It felt slightly rushed and I was left feeling a bit lost at the end.

Blurb:   Ranch hand Tommy Prout thinks he’s in love … with his boss, Hal Bolstrum. Problem is, Hal’s engaged to be married to the ranch owner’s daughter and, though he knows of Tommy’s crush, he sees it as nothing more than harmless affection. When payday rolls around and the other cowboys want to ride into town to check out the girls at the Wildhorse saloon, Tommy tags along to throw off any suspicion anyone might have about his feelings for his boss. He sure as hell doesn’t want to spend his money on any of the soiled doves the town has to offer.

At the bar he meets Lila, an enterprising young working girl who takes a liking to him. When Tommy says he wants to be left alone, Lila suggests he rest in her room — with the promise they don’t have to actuallydo anything. But Lila isn’t like the others, and when she discovers Tommy is more scared of her than attracted to her feminine charms, she lets him in on a little secret.

Lila’s real name is Stephen Marsh. He lives as a woman, moving from saloon to saloon, pleasing men for money. He loves men and enjoys his work, and what others don’t know about what’s under his skirt doesn’t bother him. In all his years on the prairie, he’s never met someone quite like Tommy. When he discovers Tommy is sweet on Hal, he suggests teaching the cowboy just how to please a man.

He doesn’t mean to lose his heart to Tommy in the process.

With “Lila” in his life, Tommy begins to dream of someone softer than Hal, someone pretty when dolled up but still man enough where it counts. Someone like Lila. As his feelings deepen, can he use Lila’s own teachings to win the heart he really loves?

Review:  This story stole my heart. Oh.  MY.   Goodness! It was fabulous. I was captivated by the first paragraph. J.M. did such a great job describing the scenery, you felt you were there.  And she made the characters come to life, both physically and emotionally.  I felt like I was the cowboy!  The whole story was so well written and believable, you could hardly put it down.

I fell in love with Tommy immediately. I could feel his frustrations and his secret desires for his foreman.

I was as surprised as Tommy when he came in and found his foreman, the object of his desires and dreams with Sarah the boss’s daughter.  I was like, hmmmm… I just knew the story was gonna be about him and Hal.

So, I read on.  I felt so badly for Tommy when his friends coerce him to going to a saloon and to try to get him a hooker.  You could feel his pain, not wanting the others to know he was gay, but not wanting to be with a woman either, still aching from what he saw earlier.  Still wanting Hal. Then I was really freaked out when he went upstairs with Lila one of the saloon girls. I had to double-check …isn’t this an M/M romance?

The scene was so hot and afterwards when Lila was talking about his –oops did I say his?-HER feelings I immediately bonded with him-I mean her. The sex scene was amazing and the emotional needs and connections so good.  I couldn’t decide which character I loved the most.  But, I am a hopeless romantic. So, does Tommy fall in love with Lila or will he finally win over his macho crush Hal?

I’m not gonna tell! You will have to read A Cowboys Heart by J.M.Snyder for yourself. You won’t be sorry. Be prepared to fall in love with a Cowboy! I give it 10 hearts! Oh, man… I can only go up to five? Well, Five it is♥♥♥♥♥!!
