Review: This is a super quick read, but it is also lives up to its name in every way, including being super sexy and full of steamy sex between two hot guys.

Tyler and Duncan have only been dating for a few weeks and Tyler is absolutely ga-ga about his new boyfriends. He is sure that Duncan can be the one. Tyler is versatile in bed but so far with Duncan has only ever been a bottom. This is basically a story about a couple in the early stages of a relationship testing out their sexual boundaries, because Tyler would love to top Duncan if he got the chance.

The characters are hot, but they are both also sweet. Duncan is like a teddy bear that I want to cuddle. This is a great story to kick back if you want to switch off for a short while which will appeal to anyone who enjoys a bit of exploration between their characters.

Review: I Loved this book!

Let me start by saying, Romantic Suspense is my genre of choice. I love a good mystery and throw in some raunchy sheet time, and I’m all over it. Never Say Never was the perfect mix of romance and suspense. I don’t read a lot of MF fiction, so I missed book one. I enjoyed this title so much. I will definitely be adding Waiting for Morning to my TBR list.

RT is a big papa bear. Because of a workplace romance gone badly, he feels the need to keep Z at arm’s length. Fortunately, neither Z nor any of the Sniper 1 team is on board for that crazy idea. Z is perfect for RT. They pretty much balance each other out. And did I mention that I love a pair of alpha switches. 😉

So while the guys are trying to not be together, they still have a job to do. An easy job goes to clusterfuck. I loved that the author had me suspecting everyone…just not the right one.

There is a great ensemble of characters. Nicole Edwards has set a stage with so many possibilities. Brothers coming home, management learning to delegate, and putting old snipers out to pasture are just a few of the subplots that really made this story enjoyable.

If you like your romance with a bit of mystery, meddling parents and sexy Alpha men, I can highly recommend Never Say Never.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the two main characters Harley and Nathan. Both were interesting and worked well together. I liked how all the prior charterers keep making appearances, especially Jesse. So it was a likable book because the characters were all good.

However, throughout I felt rushed. Everything happens between Nathan and Harley so damn fast my head spun. There were a few moments of what the hell for me. So although I liked the two men, I just did not like the pacing of the book.

Plus there were issues with some of the storyline that just made it seem a little off. Like with Nathan’s sister and the whole drama there, and what happened at the end with her. I just didn’t see or feel the need for it and it kind of messed up the story for me a bit.

So overall a decent read with a few too many extras thrown in and not enough time with the main characters.

Review: Each book in the Wayne County Wolves collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

The very first book in this series was the first book that I had read by this amazing author. I was impressed then and I am still impressed. There is just something about her characters, story and the way they mix with each other. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their family and friends with their entire lives.

Burt was a great friend, even though his life was a bit hard with his family. His father was an ass, and he was hurt for it. He was a great friend to the alpha and many of the others, so when he went feral they were shocked. Throughout it, almost ferals are killed or at least imprisoned, but Chris knew he had to find a way around it. So he brought in Cree.

The thing with Cree is that he has the hots for Burt.
Cree has always been a whisperer and knew he could help Burt. He just hadn’t expected to fall for the guy. In his life he was told he could never mate, but with Burt’s help he finds out that not everything is the way it should be.

This is a very fast paced story. The only thing I find repetitive is the war with Rand. It just gets to be a bit old although the ending is a bit different. Even with that, the story was pretty much what I wanted. I was amazed with this story and look forward to reading more by Stephani. It has a touch of humor in a story that has a serious tone to it.

I would definitely recommend this book and the ones before it. It was amazing and I had so much fun reading it.

Review: L.A. Witt has a gift of telling you a story that makes you feel like you are right there with them. They are beautifully written with big hearts and they just mix perfect with each other. They will do everything to help each other and their friends. This story was perfect in most ways but it seemed to be missing something for me to truly love it. However it did not take away from the story. I had a blast reading this book and learning about the guys.

Josh and Ian have been married for a while and would do everything for each other. Josh had at one time when they were younger been with Michael. Now they were all friends. However Michael had been with a very evil man and had been hurt by it. So hurt in fact that he was scared of having sex with anyone. It tore the guys apart knowing that their friend had suffered. So Ian comes up with a plan.

Ian thought at first Josh could help Michael would overcome what happened. However things started getting strange with the fact that here he was having sex with his best friend but was worried about his husband. Then they came up with an idea for Ian to also help. Things sure do heat up between these three. Now they need to figure out if it was helping or falling in love.

See I can see wanting to help someone, but to take the chance of screwing your marriage up is beyond me. It turns out really good for the guys, but I just can’t see it happening in real life. Although I know a few couples who have triad relationships, it just seems like it could destroy something good. Now for that feeling out of the way, this was one hell of a story and I loved it.

I would definitely recommend reading it. Lori always gives you characters that you will fall in love with and usually one of them has a story about himself that will have you in tears. This was the case of this story and I can see myself reading it more than once.

Review: I’ve been waiting for this all year and WOW! It was worth the wait. This is book three of the Men of Myth series and I do suggest you read them all in order to get the full impact. The covers are also brilliant!

This series is like getting three stories in one. It has three characters and we get viewpoint from all three. I loved this. When a view changes it tells us at the beginning of that chapter so it isn’t confusing at all, though both Brett and Finn are in two separate places now and that makes it easy to tell whose view also.

Speaking of separate places let’s start with Finn. Finn and his sister Caitlin and his new boyfriend Schwint embark on a mission to go to the Vampire Cathedral to rescue Cynthia, Finn’s sister. We get one another look at the Square. This world is very supernatural and dark. You have all sorts of creepies there. I loved how this was a supernatural world blended in the human world.

Now let’s move on to Costa Rica and the Vampire Cathedral. This is the main setting where Finn is throughout this story. We meet Gwala the Vampire king, if you want to know more about him read the prologue. I love how he looks like a child, but it’s clear he isn’t a child or sweet as his appearance lets us believe. This is a vampire that would give Dracula a run for his money. He summoned Finn because Finn possesses powers he doesn’t even realize he has and Gwala needs the strongest witches and warlocks he can find.

Now on the world Brett is in. Brett has been living under the sea with his father and the Chromis tribe for the past six months. I think this is one of my mot favorite supernatural worlds I have read to date. It’s mystical and magical and I felt I was right there swimming along with the mers.

The descriptions are beautiful, paint a picture, and fits in with the action and dialogue so it never gets boring. Just when you think it can’t get any better the tribe moves along to another place even more beautiful and mystical.

Now for the story. I love this story it’s poignant and heartfelt, mystical, magical, dark and heart-wrenching at times. This is definitely not a Cinderella love story or a sparkling vamp romance. It’s extremely emotional and full of angst. There were several surprising twists that left me in shock. I will say near the end it brought tears to my eyes. Though there are only a couple of sex scenes, but they are quite the scorchers. I cannot wait to see more from this series.

If you like strange, mystical supernatural worlds, Demons, vampires, mermaids and mermen, Witches , Warlocks and Fairies, drama, mystery, angst and lots of twists and turns this one is definitely for you

But a fun camping trip went horribly wrong when Alistair was involved in a horrific incident.

Now, at age thirty-one, Ryde’s life is a mess of alcohol and the painful imprint of his last look into Alistair’s desperate eyes. Since the evil they encountered on that shore, his first love has been lost to him—until he learns a friend’s wedding is to be officiated by a priest named Father Alistair Genet.

Amid the rush of emotions, one thought crystallizes: Ryde’s love for Alistair not only has never died, it’s stronger than ever. Stronger than God. But it may be no match for the church…and the repressed memories that are slowly tearing Alistair’s mind apart.

Review: Craving’s Creek is a complex and intense storyline which is nowhere near as light-hearted as I assumed from the title alone. In fact, it’s more complex than the blurb implies as well.

The story is about Ryde, he was just a normal kid on a camping trip when something horrible happened to his best friend/first love, Alistair. However, of course it is never that simple, Alistair also comes from a highly religious family and everyone but Ryde seems to have Alistair earmarked for the priesthood.

Skip ahead a few years we find that Ryde had not coped with things very well – he is an alcoholic although with the support of his family is now recovering. During this process Ryde encounters Alistair again. But things aren’t always as they seem. Alistair is totally different and not just because of the horrific event he went through. It’s complicated but there is hope that Alistair will get better, as well will Ryde.

This is the second Mel Bossa story I’ve reviewed and not only have I just realised I’ve given this book the same rating, but also the same issues I had with ‘Where You’ll Find Him’ arise here in ‘Craving’s Creek’.

To quote myself: “Some of the more serious and deeper emotions were more difficult to connect with, which I found disappointing…”

Okay, this is an intense book and this feeling I got because this is a deeply psychological read. Both MCs live in their heads, somewhat, Alistair more literally than Ryde.

The book also deals with multiple mental disorders. Unlike some stories, I was pleased that the issues here were not grossly underrepresented or made light of (something that really pisses me off). However, there was so much going on here that things were not always so clear in the beginning, whether unintentionally or intentionally, I think this type of book with the issues it touches needs to be clear and concise from the get go.

Primary example of this, we are told that something horrific happened to Alistair. That is true, though I would vouch in some ways it was more horrific on Ryde. This “accident” was left shrouded in mystery for too long in my opinion. Part of me just wishes it was put on Front Street so we could move onto the subsequent issues that need to be dealt with because Alistair did not get the help he required in the first place. As to where Alistair’s “fits” or “migraines” fit in to everything, I still have no clue.

I’m fairly sure that was not too spoilerish! And one final quote from my previous review which is also very relevant to this story. “I felt that sometimes the story stopped and started up again in some places”. In this story, I am sure that this stopping and starting aspect is all a part of the charm and the psychology.

Sometimes, as the saying goes, “using five words used when one would suffice”, and this aided to the stop/start feel of everything. I suppose, that isn’t always a big deal in most cases. But I’m impatient and have simple needs – a flowing story in a somewhat logical order so that even the chaos of the characters makes sense.

Overall, this is a fascinating story. The mental issues raised, while not novel, are dealt with well enough and not a complete mind-fuck (in a good way). I think a lot of my issues with this one comes down to that it tried to be too psychological without putting up some mind-bending roadblocks (although there was a good mystery front that needed to be bolstered) and sometimes it was just too wordy with descriptions/explanations.

* I’ve probably used the word “psychological” in this review when what I should really be saying is “mental health” or “mental health issues” or something along those lines. However, in this case I see these as being interchangeable when speaking in context of this book. *

Review: This is the first book by this author that I have read and I have got to tell you that it was amazing. I wasn’t so sure about the age difference between them, or the fact that it was his best friend’s father, however it was hot.

Thomas had been married at one time and had a great son. However when he realized the lie he was living it took a little bit from the previous life. He didn’t have the perfect relationship with his son that he wanted. So when his son comes to visit with a friend he was surprised but happy. That is until he met his son’s friend Cooper.

Cooper was going to be interning at his friends fathers company. He was shocked that he got to work with Thomas. He was even more surprised by the heat they seemed to have. Things were going to heat up with these two that is for sure.

I must admit I wasn’t sure about them being together, but I was glad to see them both together. Although I understood Thomas more than I did Cooper, I knew what Cooper felt was strong.

It was a great story and I look forward to reading more by this author. I had a blast with it.

Review: First off, I’m going to reiterate the author’s note. While All Man is a spin-off from Jay Northcote’s Top Me Maybe, where the MC here was a minor character in the latter. This is not part of a series and both stories are completely standalone.

This is a nice quick read. It is sexier than it is sweet, where we are introduced to Jules, who is a hair dresser working in a salon with his friends Tyler (from Top Me Maybe) and Shelly. He meets Gareth, a total bear, while giving the man a haircut. The attraction is instantaneous.

The only thing that really bothered me about the story was the insta-love between Jules and Gareth. I love the spark and the sexual tension between the guys. They are well written and matched characters. Yet, I was just not keen on the insta-love that pulled these guys together.

Review: Rhody had come to Alaska on vacation to get away from it all and relax. He finds himself sharing a duplex cabin with a sexy Bear of a man. When I say Bear I mean it in all aspects of the word…though Rhody doesn’t know that Brendan is a shape shifter.

The story switches views from Rhody to Brendan and the transitions are pretty smooth. The beginning of the story is setting Rhody’s character and both Brendan’s One side of the duplex is completely destroyed and there is a big gap in the road where it will make it harder to get rescued.

I thought this was such a unique take on these natural disaster collections and I do give kudos to the author for putting more focus on the earthquake. I loved the premise of the shapeshifter and the double entendre on the word bear. I especially loved that Brendan had a hearing impairment and that there was a slow build up between the two men.

Then the Earthquake hits. It felt like this was a book one of a series the way so much was left unresolved but there isn’t anything that leads to that if I have to say that this story would have been as good without Brendan being a bear shifter. I would love to see this in a full novel.

If you like Shapeshifters, bears, big men, earthquakes, natural disasters and moderate sex this is for you.

Review: This is book two in the Soldiers of the Sun series. I was confused after reading the first half, as it suddenly seemed like the story was starting yet again but at a later date. The beginning mentions Li not with the team anymore due to death but never said how he died or when. I was disappointed in this as it left me wondering all throughout what exactly happened.

Most of the first half is about Caleb, Agni and Temple growing closer and having sex with each other and two small demon scenes in the mix. The second half introduces Temple’s new partner Jo, a female and the boss niece. This is a confusing book as it seems almost like two different stories going on.

It needs some work before it’s published so the reader is not as confused as to what’s going on as well as details added to Li’s death instead of just saying he died and nothing else. I was disappointed in this book as the beginning was really good then all of a sudden you see a bio about the author then the beginning of another story so I was unsure as to which one was the actual story for this book.

Review: This is the second book I read of Mike Warren, which I did right after devouring his book Church Brothas. There are no words that I can conjure that can convey just how much I love the strong writing style of Mike Warren. I love his way with words and how he can weave so much drama with a large crowd of generally likable, but flawed characters.

The Cool in You (title inspired by the Babyface song) is, as the blurb says, “older gay brothas” – guys approaching fifty but still young at heart and still keen to find love. The MC is James Parker and his band of friends and family.

James’ friends Angela, Juan, Kenny, Frankie and James’ nephew, Terry, are almost MCs in their own right. Rather than being a romance, there is an essential element of drama to the book, this is about life, love for friends and family, the search for romantic love, friendship, loyalty, grief.

I love that Mike Warren so blatantly put pieces of himself (including his own cameos) into the book. It made me feel the passion he must feel when he wrote these characters. Each character is so distinct and well-developed it’s impossible to get confused.

I also enjoyed the parts where he wrote about the publishing process (something a personal journey to each author) as we read about James feeling rather unsatisfied by the range of gay romances on the market. Mike through James makes some fantastic points and I can only assume that this book is the result of him thinking on the lack of romances with older men.

By the end of it I was left with many questions. I wanted to know what Angela was going to do after a sudden change in her life. I wanted to know more about Terry’s back story and wondered how this would shape his future. I wanted to see more about the sweetness in characters Kenny and Frankie. While I wanted Juan to find some sort of HEA. Then there is James – the main, main guy. My heart broke for him, but I wanted to see more…

The best part of all… book 2 just recently came out. **doing happy dance in my office chair**

Cannot wait to get my hands on it and read the continuing story.
This really is not a book where age matters. I believe that everyone can read it and enjoy it because in the end this about people living their lives and making the best of great and terrible situations.

Justin is a merman who has been raised on land. He hates his fins and wants nothing to do with his heritage.

Lucas is an ambitious merman who has lived his whole life in Atlantis. He has spent his adulthood hiding his sexuality because homosexual relationships are forbidden in the underwater city. Now he has been sent on a mission by King Nereus to locate his oldest son and bring him back to Atlantis to take his place as the heir to the throne.

Although his mission seems impossible, Lucas finds help from the Atlantean Goddess of Love, little knowing that she has her own reasons for bringing Lucas and Justin together.
Justin is no stranger to immortals, having been raised by two of them, but he has no idea of the consequences of angering the Goddess of Love.

When he insults her, she curses him to find love only to lose it forever shortly after. As the love ‘em and leave ‘em type, Justin isn’t overly concerned, at least until Lucas enters his life and he sees how the curse will end.

Together they could have the greatest love of their lives, but only if they can appease the furious goddess before their time runs out.

Review: This is the second book in the Merman & Magic series. We are introduced to both Justin and Lucas. Both merman but from very different lives. Justin was raised on land by Caspian and his sister. He does not want anything to do with his heritage as a merman. He seemed like a stubborn yet smart man.

I liked the way he stuck to what he believed in throughout the story. His temper did tend to get in the way at times and land him in hot water especially with a goddess.

Lucas has lived in Atlantis his entire life and is in the running to become the senior advisor to the king. He is also gay which is strictly forbidden in Atlantis. The king sends him on a mission that will change his life forever in more ways than. I loved Lucas’ character. He was sweet yet determined. His feistiness at times made me chuckle. I did not like the way Otus, another merman, treated him.

This story is an adventure from land to sea with interesting details about the oracles and goddesses of the mermaid people. I loved how in spite of getting himself in trouble Justin was determined to set things right. There is a lot of drama throughout between different characters both new and old from the first book. I loved Lucas reactions to different things on land and when he was introduced to a sex toy.

A delightful read with some hot sex to add spice. Even though Justin and Lucas got off to a rocky start they seemed to care about each other deeply. I felt that Otus’ character was not finished and kept expecting at any moment for him to cause more mayhem than he did. Other than it was a great read.

Blurb: Being a witch doesn’t mean one can beat the devil forever.

Jeffrey Overton, unemployed IT professional turned poker player, pushes his luck once too often and runs afoul of the host of an illegal card club. The man sent to escort Jeffrey to a “meeting” about his supernatural winning streak arrives at Jeffrey’s crappy North Portland apartment, lock-picking tools in hand and a charm to block Jeffrey’s magick.

Head muscle for said host, Mike Wells, is a Daisy from Daisyville. He isn’t a witch. What he lacks in magickal talent he makes up for in brawn, so he doesn’t expect the guy he’s after to overpower him. But once Mike renders Jeffrey helpless, he’d rather seduce him than bring him in.

Jeffrey and Michael ditch the “meeting” and end up hunting some of the same people they ran from, trying to get Jeffrey back into his own body. And that’s only part of the adventure.

The pair travel halfway across the country on the quietest road trip in history and find missing people, empire-building witches, and maybe even the families they’d both thought lost to them.

Review: I really had to think on this book after I finished reading it. It certainly is different and not in an entirely bad way. The characters and the world that was woven are quirky, even if it is filled with danger and, generally, a lot of odd people. Then again, I suppose that should not be wholly unexpected in fiction.

The story follows Jeffrey, he’s smart but he is also an unemployed IT guys and something of a gambler. And of course, the gambling gets him into trouble, which even Jeffrey knows is something he can’t get away from even if he is a witch. It’s through this that he meets Michael. Michael is sent after Jeffrey who is simply the muscle that needs to grab Jeffrey so that the man can (in a sinister sense) pay his debt.

This is a fast pace story with a good dose of insta-love, which is really needed if you want to consider this story a romance because part of the magick in the book involves body switching (which only appears in the blurb as a throwaway line that does not particularly make much sense).

You need to concentrate while reading this because things happen extremely quickly and the explanation is not always real detailed to make the reader stop and think. For example the word “Daisy” is used throughout the book and the best I could understand is that is simply a non-magick person (Muggle!). Jeffrey trying to find his is body is a big part of the plot and leads into a little twist in the plot which had me thinking, “don’t these guys ask more questions before going off to do something?”

All in all, I loved interactions between Michael and Jeffrey, even when Jeffrey was not in his real body. Jeffrey is hilarious – he is sarcastic and irreverent. Michael is the strong and stoic type, ready to be anyone’s hero.

Review: This is a fun and sweet book by Trina Solet, who has branched out a bit recently from the usual formula of gay guy with a kid, meets his match and falls in love. Okay, so there are kids involved here, but this more about one guy getting his life on track by catching up (or being chased by) the people who he had never really realised love him the most.

Firstly, we are introduced to sixteen year old fraternal twins Finn and Dee Dee, who know that they have a half-brother from their father’s first marriage out there somewhere. They had tried to search for him before but think they see him at their father’s funeral.

But when the man disappears they are relentless in the search for the brother they are intent on meeting and becoming family with.
This is when the twins’ half brother comes in. Blake basically resents everything about the father that had abandoned him at the age of five when his parents divorced.

When his father became terminally ill he didn’t even call Blake. Blake has had a rough life between two neglectful parents. But when he had been in high school there had been one person – Reese – the boy from “the wrong side of the tracks”. He had been fool enough to let love slip through his fingers then, but now he was intent on finding Reese. He just didn’t realise that his stubborn siblings would insinuate themselves into his life and help him in the end.

Then there is Reese. Now he really has had a hard life. What makes it worse is that now his past is coming back to haunt him in the form of a mad man who is stalking him. He loves Blake, hurts from the rejection but more than anything will do anything to keep the man he loves safe.

There is a lot of emotion going on here, but at the same time it is funny. Finn and Dee Dee are pretty much the comic relief in this book. Part of me wonders if Finn, who is bisexual, will get his own story, too. That would be awesome. But for now, I really loved this story.

The only thing that I am going say bad is that sometimes I felt the flashbacks by Blake and Reese seemed to drag on a bit. I felt like we were stopping mid action and my mind did not like the switch in pace, no matter how brief.

Anyone who loves the “crazy kid” type of character will love this. As I said before, Finn and Dee Dee bring in a lot of life and laughter into a book filled with dark emotions. Also, anyone who loves to read best friends becoming lovers. There really isn’t any mystery though there are some sinister aspects to the plot and despite the heavy emotions it is low on angst (which for me is a great thing).

Review: This is one real fun book that you can just kick back and read when you go a spare hour (there about) on you. And just as the title says, it is both sexy and cheeky.

Jack and Elijah both play on the same hockey team – at the moment, Elijah is the captain. Jack has always admired Elijah from afar, and I suppose that is one secret. However, the even bigger secret is Jack’s love for wearing sexy panties (manties! I love that word!).

A bit of locker room antics allows Elijah to build up his courage to be more to Jack than a team-mate. The end result is a smoking hot attraction to two ordinary guys who just seem to belong together.

When Julian’s world takes an unexpected turn, it’s Nick who helps him regain perspective on what matters most in life. Julian, in turn, helps Nick accept who he is and understand he isn’t responsible for tragedies he couldn’t prevent. Lost love found can be even sweeter the second time around and after all the years apart, both men learn to look beyond the surface to find the men they are inside.
