Review: Each book in the Mary’s Boys collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Steven gave up his job, his security, pretty much everything to open up his very own Hamburger Mary restaurant in Colorado. He loved it, he really did but words from his father had him rethinking. Dying and the old asshat could still tear Steven apart. It made him doubt everything he had came to love.

Ryan was several years younger then Steven and Steven’s nephew’s best friend. Ryan had also wanted that man beyond anything you can imagine for so long. He was an wonderful artist who had gotten burned out doing his art. Opening is own business, left him a bit short on cash but happy. So when he scares the crap out of them both on the night his father funeral service, well you can guess.

I came across this author when his first book, in this series came out. I was fascinated with the guys in it and the world they live in. The love they have for each other is amazing and Brandon pulled it off perfectly. I have always followed female authors for some reason, but Brandon is a big hit with me. His stories just seem to take the cold from the world and replace it was heat. I wished this one had been a bit longer, didn’t want to let it go.

I had a lot of fun reading it and can not wait to get my hands on the next book.

Blurb: Fifty-six-year-old Samuel Phillips is all alone on his small farm in the Ozarks, with nothing but a menagerie of chickens, pheasants, turkeys, and other birds as company—which is just the way he likes it. In fact, if Samuel had his way, he’d tear down his neighbor’s house so his solitude could be absolute. One day Faloola, his favorite turkey, escapes, forcing Samuel to make the trek next door. When Raymond Webber—sixty-seven—answers the door as naked as the day he was born, Samuel doesn’t know whether he’s more annoyed… or attracted. The two men are opposites in every way—Samuel is serious, while Raymond believes in free love and herbal relaxation. The weeks leading up to Christmas are rocky to say the least, but some holiday spirit might help them get past their differences….

Review: Samuel is living his life the way he wanted, even if he was alone. He lived in the beautiful Ozarks with his amazing birds. Except now he was out in the cold searching for his favorite turkey. She did love to wander. To bad she ended up at his neighbor’s house. Raymond is a man who is just a bit older than Samuel, but he had never settled down. That is until his uncle passed away and left him his house. These two are perfect for each other, weird all the way around.

I was expecting a Christmas story when I was given this but it was still pretty cool. Although the grumpy old man side does come out with these two. Thanksgiving day and turkeys aside, it was a pretty good book. Although the cover was a bit dull, the story was entertaining.

I enjoyed reading it and it makes good for when you need a quick read.

Review: Each book in the Mary’s Boys collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Ariel is a sweet and sexy little merman who is in drag.  She works at the Hamburger Mary’s and loves his work.  Her real name is Zachary and he owns a really nice bookstore that once belonged to his parents.  He has a pretty good life, but he is missing something.  When Zach is attacked in a hate crime, he meets the one that makes his heart beat fast.

Teegan is a damn good doctor who is getting sick of the attacks on gays.  He has the best support system one could ask for, his ex-wife and daughter.  When Zach is brought in, he knows this man is for him.

This is a pretty damn good book and I have missed reading this series.  So when I saw this one, I had to go back and read the first two, well again.  It is very entertaining and is told in both serious and humorous tones.  I love ManDonna, she cracks me up but she takes care of her family, and Zach is family.  The whole group just stands up and helps Zach all the way around.

I had a lot of fun reading this and would definitely recommend it.  I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Review:  Each book in the Mary’s Boys collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Marlon is one very sexy cop but he is having the worst time of it.  First off he is black and the second is he is gay.   He has a partner who is not only racist but a homophobe.  Me thinks one doth protest too much, if you get my drift.  Anyhow our sexy police officer needs a good old fashion drink.  Too bad he doesn’t remember drink so much and waking up next to the hot bartender.   Too bad it brings trouble to Vahin and Mary’s boys.

The story starts off pretty damn good, but I am afraid that it also feels like the author just rushed the whole story.  There were so many chances to make it into not only a longer book but to give us something to sink our teeth into.  There is hot sex, but you don’t see it.  There is absolutely no heat between these guys, so no steamy parts either.  There is no passion between these two, or I should say Marlon doesn’t really have any.  He is the one that comes off a bit strange to me.  That’s not saying he isn’t a good character, but with how short the story is, well you get my point.  He just comes off rocky and not a follow thru type of person.  Then there is the ending, well it just seems to stop all of a sudden.

Now the story to me was still cute and I did like the guys.  However it came off a bit like the author was trying to meet a deadline with this particular book.  I also feel that if it had been made into an actual longer book we would have seen a lot more to it.  For now this book failed on many different steps for me to truly love.  It had great potential but for now I am not sure about the rest of the series.

Review: I have heard many things about this author’s work but never really stopped to look at one.  So imagine my surprise when I started reading this story.  Let’s just say that I am off to buy all of this amazing man’s work.  Wow, sexy men are at the top of the list.

Darwin has been in the dating scene for a while now, but this latest date makes him want to give it all up.  However one look at the sexy waiter has him changing his mind.  Poor Cody has finally gotten his dream.  He has left his nasty parents and moved away from Kansas.  He is working at Hamburger Mary’s and let’s just say the people there rock.  He likes Darwin but never expected the man to want him back.  This is one story that you need to read if you want the details.

I had a lot of fun reading this and can’t wait to read the next book in this series.  Cody is an absolute doll and one that everyone will love.  Darwin is sweet and has his eye on the man all the way.  The characters are all quirky and so much fun.  I find that this is probably going to be read many times over.  I can admit that some of the story had me in tears.

It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end.  For such a small story it is fully packed with a lot of tasty treats.  Way to go Brandon Witt, keep the books a coming.

At the best of times, his social life consists of work, role-playing games at a local toyshop, and making YouTube videos with his Teddy Bear hamsters. The arrival of the holidays—with the annoying music, Christmas shopping, and all the reminders of how he disappointed his father—just reinforces his reclusive nature.

Review: Brian had never had a Christmas he enjoyed until he met the man of his dreams.  James was the man Brian wanted, but never thought he could have.  It looks to me like he just might have received the perfect Christmas present ever.

I have to admit that I was not as happy about all the sex in this story, which is strange.  However I was just looking for something really cheesy I suppose.  I did however really like these characters.  They just came off perfect to me and I would love to read more about them.  This was a very cute little story that was a lot of fun to read.   I love how much humor is in these little stories, and how much story there actually is in them.

Mapping the Forest

by

Brandon Witt

Happily ever after has no map, but sometimes fate sends a guiding light.

Gabe Rice, a seasonal ranger at the Rocky Mountain National Park, can’t seem to get his life on the right trail. He loves the rugged beauty of the land, and there is no place he would rather live than the mountain community of Estes Park. But after six years, Gabe is beginning to wonder if he’ll ever get a full-time position or find love. When Gabe sees Luis—and hears his gorgeous singing—he’s compelled to meet him.

Luis Martinez, the new owner of a hotel and steak ride business in Estes, left California and a career as a therapist for a fresh start in Colorado. But even the beauty of the mountains can’t help him forget the past or move forward. Unprepared for his strong attraction to Gabe, Luis is ready to run and hide from emotions he never thought he’d have again.

Suddenly the path ahead opens to a future that looks brighter for both of them, if they can find the courage to walk forward—together.

I have to say I normally do not like all the stories in an anthology yet this one I loved them all. They each were unique in their own ways and were beautifully written. Highly recommended.

Review: Randall Morgan, the black sheep of the wealthy Morgan family, gave up on the family fortune in order to be free of their manipulations and expectations and be himself. Randall is a talented photographer who’s supplementing his income by offering relaxation massage that more often than not have happy endings for his clients and for himself. Randall photographs children in fantasy settings, but he also does sexual and pornographic photography, usually joining in the fun half way through. His family managed to get over the fact that Randall chose his own destiny and that he is gay, but they will never accept Randall’s promiscuity. The only thing that keeps Randall in Seattle is the love for his 7 year old niece Bailey, who’s the most important person in his life.

Noah Carroll is the son of missionaries, he’s a former religious man who wanted nothing more than to become a minister and teach people about God. Life in general, and a series of events that rocked Noah’s faith in God, led him to leave his religion behind and become the face of Seattle Humane Society. Noah and Randall have known each other from their teenage years, when they shared a kiss that neither of them will ever forget. Noah has always known Randall is the one, and planned to reconnect with him in the near future. That moment comes sooner than expected when Randall comes to adopt a puppy for his niece Bailey.

Noah is everything Randall has always wanted in a man, and the one person he’s been comparing all others to. Their relationship progresses rather quickly because there is no hesitation or confusion as to where they see themselves in the future. I thought things moved at a pace that was too rapid for me, because it’s been over 20 years since Noah and Randall have seen each other. The children they’ve both been are nothing like the men they’ve become, so I wish there was more flirting, sexual tension, that get-to-know-you beautiful time before any serious relationship; but at the same time I appreciated how sure of himself Noah was and how confident he was in his feelings for Randall.

Randall’s little side business is revealed by a jealous client and Randall is accused of prostitution. His reputation is pretty much destroyed and new claims of inappropriate behavior with the children he photographed are being made by an anonymous source. Randall becomes depressed and insecure, which I understood and sympathized with. However, I loved how solid and supportive Noah was through it all; Noah was by far my favorite character, I adored him! Randall was harder to like, more difficult to connect with, and I think that’s because he lacks the charisma that attracts me to a person. There were plenty of things to like about him, but overall I found him bland and forgettable.

Son of Money is not an angsty book, there’s no relationship drama and most importantly, there are no misunderstandings. When it comes to family however, this was filled with the kind of drama that only rich and entitled people are able to create. So much backstabbing!!! One of the reasons I didn’t love this book as much as the more recent Brandon Witt books are the horrible secondary characters. There were exactly two secondary characters I liked, Randall’s sister in law and best friend Kayla, and Bailey (his niece). That’s it! The rest were a bunch of cold hearted, manipulating, hateful, controlling freaks. Also, there isn’t a lot happening in this book aside from Randall trying to find out who’s trying to destroy his career and reputation. After a while it became a bit boring and I wanted to get to the end of it, while hoping something would happen to engage me and pull me in.

Nice writing like always, but not the best I’ve seen from Brandon.

Review: Allakau was always different from the rest of his family, for one he hated to kill any animal. Even his mother has noticed. His tribe survives from the kills they make, but Allakau cannot eat nor kill any animal. He feels something for the animals. Then he sees a narwhal that has the same color of eyes as he does, and it says his true name.

Then his father has given him an impossible choice – either kill within the three days or forever leave. Searching the woods gives him time to reflect and he realizes his life is not the same as it was. For he is very special, then he finds another animal with the same eye color, the same animal that he once was.

This one was a bit strange to me, so it was harder to get into it. It was well written with a lot of depth to it, but I just couldn’t connect with the story. Even though I couldn’t connect, I could tell that it was a pretty damn good story.

This is one that I would recommend to all.

Hi guys, we have August Li, Brandon Witt, J. Scott Coatsworth, Skye Hegyes stopping by to celebrate their new release the anthology Myths Untold: Faery, I asked the guys where they got their inspiration for their stories so check out their answers. Enjoy the post <3 ~Pixie~

Myths Untold: Faery

by

August Li, Brandon Witt, J. Scott Coatsworth, Skye Hegyes,

Faeries are part of mythology the world over, past, present, and future. Called elves, brownies, the fae, and more, they evoke a sense of wonder and a little danger. Faery has its own rules, and humans enter at their peril.

In this spirit, we bring you the first book in the Myths Untold anthology series—four stories from the land of the Fae: a homeless man in Cardiff and the luck that could destroy him; the trans man in future San Francisco who falls for an elf; the village boy who has always been a little different; and a faery prince whose birthright was stolen from him.

Welcome to Faery.

The Pwcca and the Persian Boy, by Gus Li

Despite beauty and luck, something about Glyn makes everyone uncomfortable. Homeless on the streets of Cardiff, he has nothing to keep him going but his friendship with Farrokh. Through stealing and fortune’s occasional favor, Glyn keeps them alive. But then homeless youths begin to disappear, and when Farrokh goes missing, Glyn begins to discover the reasons behind both his luck and the way people react to him. Determined to save his friend from a danger he never imagined, he enlists the help of Lleu, who might be an ally, or might be manipulating Glyn to achieve his own goals.

The Other Side of the Chrysalis, by Brandon Witt

In a species that values beauty above all else, Quay looses both his freedom and his birthright as prince of the fairies.  Lower than an outcast, he watches over his younger brother, hoping against hope that Xenith’s rebirth will provide safety and positions that has slipped through Quay’s grasp.  Though he expected kindness from no one, Quay gradually starts to trust that there is more to life, even for the likes of him, as sexual encounters with Flesser, a fairy barely accepted himself, turn from lust to love.  Quay knows having forbidden relationships will be his undoing,  but he is powerless to turn away.

Changeling, by Skye Hegyes

With his pointed ears and a tail, Tyler’s always been different than the other children, but until Marsh, a brownie tells him he’s a changeling, he never thought he wasn’t human. Now he will discover what faery life is like, and just how being a changeling could change his life. On the way, his ties with his mother will be pushed and prodded even as his friendships grow and his love life blossoms.  However, in a village of God-fearing people, those who are different are spurned and Tyler will discover how much trouble a fledgling changeling can get into.

Through the Veil, by J. Scott Coatsworth

In the not-too-distant future, San Francisco has been swamped by rising sea levels caused by global warming, and has only survived by building a wall to keep the water out of the heart of the City. Colton is a trans man barely getting by on the canals outside the wall. Tris is an elf who has come to the human world on his journey to become a man. Fate brings them together, and everything changes for Colton when he sets out with Tris to find the elf’s missing brother, taking Colton behind the Wall for the first time.

Review: Just look at this fantastic cover. It’s one of the best I’ve ever seen! To me, this beautiful cover had its own story to tell.  I expected an intense, emotional book that would probably make me shed a few tears! I was not disappointed! This will more than likely be in my top 3 books that I’ll be reading in 2016 and it currently holds the #1 spot.

Let me start my review by saying that I’m truly overwhelmed and impressed with Brandon Witt’s talent for writing. Not only is his work easy to read and sure to make a lasting impression, it draws the reader (in this case me, of course) in to the point where every description of surroundings, every detail and emotion was right there for me to feel. I was right there with the characters seeing what they saw, sharing the sights, smells, feelings with them until I felt like I was a part of them. This happens so rarely to me that I was completely overwhelmed in the most beautiful way.

The night 12-year-old Isaiah got his first kiss from RJ, the boy he loved, turned into a nightmare that still haunts him two decades later. RJ’s entire future was ripped away from him in the most horrific way possible and he now lives in an assisted living facility, where he waits patiently for Isaiah to come visit and spends his days coloring. Isaiah still feels guilty for running and leaving RJ behind on that horrible Halloween night, and no matter how much professional help he’s gotten, he is still haunted by it.

Isaiah is now a teacher for special needs children, and that’s how he meets Ben Woods, the “brother” of one of his students. Ben is exactly the type Isaiah is attracted to, imperfect, somewhat damaged, with wise eyes that tell a story of a hard life. Isaiah can’t stop thinking about Ben and no matter how many warning flags and signals his brain is trying to send him when it comes to Ben, Isaiah simply can’t stay away.

Ben’s childhood pretty much ended the day before his 6th birthday, when his alcoholic father murdered his mother and brother before pulling the gun on himself. Ben doesn’t remember everything that took place that night, yet his whole life path changed that night. Sent to live with an emotionally abusive grandmother, Ben numbed his pain the only way he knew how: by submerging himself into a world of drugs and alcohol, prostitution and sex. Years later, Ben is a recovering addict who has the full support of his make-shift family: Daniel aka Mandonna and his long-time partner Hershel.

Brandon Witt - Under a Sky of Ash Teaser sI can’t tell you how much I loved Mandonna, she was fierce and funny and precious, with a huge heart full of love for the people in her life…you know, the typical drag queen. Everybody needs a Fairy Drag-mother in their lives and Ben is a lucky bastard for having one. Mandonna was the very much-needed burst of happiness and light with mad fighting skills. Just give her a pair of stilettos and she’s lethal! But I also loved Hershel, the intense and grumpy guy who’s the opposite of Daniel, but his exact perfect match. So much love for those two!

I can’t say much about Ben and Isaiah’s relationship without giving the whole plot away, but let me touch on a few things I loved the absolute most! You know how usually Brandon’s books lack the steam factor? Well rest assured, there’s plenty of steam in this one. And while the sex scenes are not overly descriptive, they’re still hot and just perfect!

I also loved how honest and real the characters were, especially Ben when it came to his feelings for Aaron and his relationship with him. It was painful and brutally honest. Definitely not pretty, but oh so real!

Usually I’m pretty good figuring out early on which way a book or plot is headed, and despite a few warning bells I had no clue I was going to get completely and totally blindsided. I really didn’t see that coming. It was shocking and surprising, but definitely not overly dramatic or embellished. Well done Brandon, very well done!!!

I apologize for the long review, but in all honesty I barely touched up on the important stuff. This book is absolutely amazing. The best I’ve read in a very long time. I can’t recommend this enough. Read it or you’ll miss out on a wonderful story.

And for those of you that need a happy ending, you’ll definitely get one. A beautiful one that made me smile and made my heart happy.

Oh, and the dedication is very special as well. Eric Arvin, if you played such an important role in Brandon’s career as an author, thank you! If it wasn’t for you we’d miss out on some great talent!

Review: Brooke moved to Denver after college to get away from home and put his past behind him. He gets a job at a boy’s center as counselor and makes significant changes there. Brett has a beautiful apartment and meets the man of his dreams. Even though he can’t use his degree in a church, he loves his job with the youth, loves his husband. He almost has that fairy tale life until a tragedy brings back his past and it could all come crashing down around him.

The Shattered Door is one of my favorite books. Written in first person, I felt like I was Brooke. It begins in the present then goes back seven years, and you wonder what had happened to cause Brooke such emotional angst almost to the end. Just when you think it’s over, there is another twist. The story leaves you on the edge of your seat, laughing and crying. I could feel Brooke’s angst and pain. The romance between him and Jed was sweet and charming.

This isn’t exactly a romance but more a story of life and relationships.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that likes a book that is looking for something different. If you like angst, friends to lovers, raccoons, story’s set in the mid –south and no sex, you will LOVE this book.

Review:It’s been a while since I’ve read a Brandon Witt book, so I thought it was about time to get back in the saddle. Now, after finishing this book, I wonder, how is it possible that what came after the epilogue changed this rating from a solid 4 stars to 5 stars? Only one answer comes to mind, so that must be it: this book was written after real characters, with real feelings, which makes the topic of this book even more heartbreakingly real.

I have to offer praise to Brandon for having the courage and determination to approach a topic that’s rarely mentioned when it comes to men: eating disorders. I know we get to see how the female population suffers and is affected by these, but to get to experience it from a male POV, and to see that men deal with body image issues and eating disorders while striving to achieve perfection just as women do, was captivating, heartbreaking, eye-opening, and an experience I won’t forget anytime soon.

Kevin is a gorgeous 38-year-old man, who comes from an overbearing Italian family who’s as supportive as it is overwhelming. Kevin has been dreaming about owning a bridal store since he was a teenager, and while he never gave up on his dream, life had other plans in store for him.

The child of a lesbian couple, Kevin had all the support and love needed while growing up, and he was never judged of shamed for his homosexuality. But sometimes, no matter how much love and support we have, we are still affected by different conditions and/or we’re not quite happy with who we are.

Kevin suffers from a severe anxiety disorder that started in his teenage years, and has been battling bulimia and anorexia for many years, even though for the most part he got his bulimia under control. Kevin is gorgeous and has a great body, only when he looks in a mirror, that’s not what he sees: he sees ugliness and fat, imperfection and disappointment.

No matter how much those around him tell him he looks great, he never believes it. Being married for years to Scott, a beautiful, pretty much physically perfect man, and being cheated on and divorced because Scott chose another man, certainly didn’t help Kevin’s condition.

Kevin’s story affected me a lot, and I was able to connect with him like I’ve never connected with another character before. I understand perfectly what he’s going through and that he can’t control the way he feels about his own body; I understand because I go through the same thing, although I’m not even close to the severity of Kevin’s experiences. But I experienced this enough throughout my life to feel connected to Kevin on a very deep level.

Casper is a chef whose dreams are to one day open his own dessert shop, specializing in wedding cakes. When Casper and Kevin meet through some mutual friends and learn that they have similar goals, they decide to go into business together to help each other with the expenses or starting a new business, and to offer people a unique experience when it comes to their bridal needs.

Casper finds Kevin extremely attractive and no matter how much he tries, he can never think of him as a business partner only. This was one of those cases where the heart wants what it wants, and having faith in fate might make your dreams come true. Casper knows that he’s not beautiful enough, not cool enough, not interesting enough and entirely too geeky to ever make Kevin interested in him, especially once he meets Kevin’s ex-husband/on-again lover Scott, because he knows he’s never going to fall into the same category with Scott. And yet he never stops hoping.

The more time Kevin spends with Casper, the more attracted to him he feels; the stress and pressure of starting a new business, along with his anorexia, are causing Kevin to experience severe anxiety attacks. But with time he comes to realize that being with Casper makes him feel relaxed and happy, and the anxiety that causes him to eat Xanax like candy doesn’t make an appearance as frequently when they spend time together.

What starts off as a friendship becomes so much more, and I loved every bump in their road to happiness. Casper and Kevin are a great couple and a fantastic team, and I especially love how unconditionally Casper loves Kevin, and how good he is for Kevin’s well-being.

The reason I wanted to give this book 4 stars instead of five is for the lack of steam and sex factor. If this had some on-page sex and maybe some descriptive steamy parts, it truly would’ve been the most perfect book.

Only after reading the word from the real life Kevin at the end of this book, and Brandon’s word where we find out most of this book’s characters are inspired by real-life people, this book became less of a fiction and more of a reality, and I quite frankly stopped minding the lack of sex that much.

I know this is still fiction and many of the things that happened are fiction as well, but knowing the core of this book is based on real people made a huge difference for me.

Lovely book!!!

Review: I’ve been waiting for this all year and WOW! It was worth the wait. This is book three of the Men of Myth series and I do suggest you read them all in order to get the full impact. The covers are also brilliant!

This series is like getting three stories in one. It has three characters and we get viewpoint from all three. I loved this. When a view changes it tells us at the beginning of that chapter so it isn’t confusing at all, though both Brett and Finn are in two separate places now and that makes it easy to tell whose view also.

Speaking of separate places let’s start with Finn. Finn and his sister Caitlin and his new boyfriend Schwint embark on a mission to go to the Vampire Cathedral to rescue Cynthia, Finn’s sister. We get one another look at the Square. This world is very supernatural and dark. You have all sorts of creepies there. I loved how this was a supernatural world blended in the human world.

Now let’s move on to Costa Rica and the Vampire Cathedral. This is the main setting where Finn is throughout this story. We meet Gwala the Vampire king, if you want to know more about him read the prologue. I love how he looks like a child, but it’s clear he isn’t a child or sweet as his appearance lets us believe. This is a vampire that would give Dracula a run for his money. He summoned Finn because Finn possesses powers he doesn’t even realize he has and Gwala needs the strongest witches and warlocks he can find.

Now on the world Brett is in. Brett has been living under the sea with his father and the Chromis tribe for the past six months. I think this is one of my mot favorite supernatural worlds I have read to date. It’s mystical and magical and I felt I was right there swimming along with the mers.

The descriptions are beautiful, paint a picture, and fits in with the action and dialogue so it never gets boring. Just when you think it can’t get any better the tribe moves along to another place even more beautiful and mystical.

Now for the story. I love this story it’s poignant and heartfelt, mystical, magical, dark and heart-wrenching at times. This is definitely not a Cinderella love story or a sparkling vamp romance. It’s extremely emotional and full of angst. There were several surprising twists that left me in shock. I will say near the end it brought tears to my eyes. Though there are only a couple of sex scenes, but they are quite the scorchers. I cannot wait to see more from this series.

If you like strange, mystical supernatural worlds, Demons, vampires, mermaids and mermen, Witches , Warlocks and Fairies, drama, mystery, angst and lots of twists and turns this one is definitely for you

Review: Rising Frenzy picks up where the Submerging Inferno ended so I do suggest you read this series in order. This book is sort of like getting three books in one. We get Finn’s side and also more on what’s going on with Brett, plus a bonus.

We begin with Finn after Brett left. Finn isn’t dealing well with the heartbreak. Finn searches for Brett at first, and then tries to get over him in some not so great attempts. Finn has a voice in his head that is pressuring him to be in the square, a seedy supernatural community and he gets involved in Spor, a sex drug, and meets Shwint a fairy.

There is a lot going on in Finn’s story, some highs and lows, its dark and sad. My heart broke for Finn. I will say there were times I wanted to shake him or just slap the crap out of him.

Brett’s story isn’t as sad as Finn’s, as Brett found his father and is trying life in the ocean with his newfound Mer family. This story dealt with acceptance, and Brett still dealing with all that is going on in his life, loss, what he is, his new life, and having to accept the rules of the tribe of Mers he has joined. There is lots of action in this part of the story and as in Finn’s story it’s emotionally deep, yet not as dark.

The third story was quite a surprise. I loved how the Author brought this character in with a story of its own. It’s briefer but quite intriguing. I will not tell you who it is you will have to buy the book and find out.

There were several new characters introduced, as well as some of the ones from the other book such as all of Finn’s family. All of the characters are so well done and intriguing. Some you will love, some you may hate.

There are also two new worlds in this book. You have the square; a dark, seedy supernatural community with drugs, sex, danger and all sorts of strange characters. I loved it, though it’s not for the faint of heart. There is also a peek at a fairy community that is so much fun with its lights, sounds, the food and drink; it also added a little light to balance out some of the darkness.

Then there is the underwater world. It is so intriguing. The entire journey is beautiful; the colors, the sea life. I felt like I was under there and a mermaid in the journey with Brett and his newfound family. I loved all of these new characters.

I cannot wait to see where the next book takes us and how these character’s lives may entwine once again or even if they do.
I highly recommend this if you like paranormal (vampires witches, werewolves, fairies), Fantasy (mermaids, demons, nymphs) New worlds, both supernatural and fantasy and underwater-worlds, dark, deep, emotional stories, and some fairly hot mansex.

If you’re looking for something new and different, but dark and deep this series is fantastic. It will make you angry at times and happy at others. I absolutely love everything about this series.
