Blurb: Life is good for Toby and Damon—maybe too good. What happens when someone seems intent on destroying their happiness?
Toby and Damon are growing closer every day, with Toby recovering from the shot to his shoulder and Damon trying to keep him from pushing too hard too fast. Things are good between them.
They’re even better in the bedroom, where Toby is learning all sorts of new things and Damon is happily pushing his limits.
They’ve almost forgotten that someone doesn’t seem as happy with their closeness as they are, when Toby walks into his studio to find it trashed and his little apartment ransacked. Are the authorities going to be able to apprehend the culprit before Toby decides the best course of action is to remove himself from the equation?
Review: The aftermath of book two leaves Toby shot in the shoulder and recuperating with Damon’s help. The perpetrator is still on the loose and continues their threats but Toby is focusing on Damon and their further explorations in the bedroom.
I loved that Damon was there for Toby. Toby for his part was brave and responsive to what Damon wanted as well as to his own fantasies.

One’s proud, one’s prejudiced, and they can’t stand each other.
Quick-tempered Bennet Rourke dislikes Darius Lanniker on sight. Darius may be a hotshot city lawyer, but that doesn’t give him the right to sneer at Bennet, his friends, and their college. It doesn’t help that Bennet’s restaurant job has him waiting at Darius’s table. So when his tutor recommends him for an internship at Darius’s Pemberley estate, Bennet isn’t sure he wants it. He’s also not sure he can afford to turn it down.
Darius is a fish out of water in the small college town of Meriton, but something keeps pulling him back there. He’s helping out a friend with business advice, nothing more. If he’s interested in Bennet, it’s not serious. Sure, Bennet challenges him in a way no other man has. But they have nothing in common. Right?
Wrong. Their best friends are falling in love, and Bennet and Darius can’t seem to escape each other. Soon they’re sharing climbing ropes and birthday cake, and there’s a spark between them that won’t be denied.
But betrayal is around the corner. Darius must swallow his pride and Bennet must drop his prejudices to see the rainbow shining through the storm clouds.
A standalone novel—a modern retelling of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

by
S.L. Danielson & Cheryl Headford
The Von are on their way. With a recording contract under their belt and a tour opening for a popular band, the world is at their feet. For those left behind prospects are not so bright, especially with someone trying so hard to break them apart.
With the spotlight on The Von, no one sees the evil waiting in the wings until it’s too late.
Desperate for an edge in the war against the Gavenelians that will keep the Confederation from losing as many ships to the sadistic aliens as they destroy, Sasha Dmitrov contacts the space pirate he knows only as Harry, hoping the mysterious engineer will be able to pull off one more miracle. Having been warned of Harry’s disdain for the Confederation, Sasha is prepared for Harry to tell him to jump out an airlock without a space suit. The last thing he expects is an invitation to Nicodemus Vector, Harry’s shielded planetoid. What Sasha discovers is an Andromedite empath who sees far too deeply into his soul.
As they race against time for a breakthrough that will tip the scales in their favor, Sasha finds himself more and more attracted to the reclusive mercenary. But duty calls, and Sasha has a war to win before he can even think about returning to Harry’s side—assuming that either of them will risk opening himself to the other’s empathic touch.
Read about Peter and Blaise in Hot Cargo and about Ryan and Juo in Healing in His Wings.
Review: Sasha has Bliase get in contact with Harry, a reclusive creature highly intelligent, to get a leg up on the war. What he discovers upon meeting the man is an intriguing and highly attractive being. The two hit it off and create astounding chemistry together.
I have to say all in all I was disappointed with this series. If you’re looking for hot sex and romance this is the series for you. If you’re looking for a combo of romance, suspense and action this series was lacking in the action and suspense. There was a serious lack of details in each book. It seemed as though those were glanced over in favor of the physical and romance aspects of the book.
Blurb: Even with a string of earthquakes jarring the tenants of the Belladonna Arms, rattling nerves and smashing dishes, life still manages to plod along as usual. Love pollen continues to fall, romances continue to flourish, and Arthur, the grand Pooh-bah in residence, continues to plan his upcoming wedding extravaganza.
In the midst of all this drama fall Gideon Chase and Reed Kelly, two redheaded losers at love who find themselves regrouping under the auspices of the most incorrigible matchmaker in heels.
Arthur sees hope for the two right away. He leases them adjoining apartments, then continually tweaks their budding friendship in the hope it will slip into love. Just as Arthur’s plans are coming along nicely, Reed’s past shows up to toss a monkey wrench into his and Gideon’s blossoming romance.
With Arthur’s wedding ceremony nigh, and Reed and Gideon on the verge of heartache yet again, Arthur faces one inescapable conclusion.
It will take more than love pollen to sort this mess out.
Review: Each book in The Belladonna Arm’s collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
Arthur is getting married and it had better be perfect. He has found to gorgeous ginger men who he knows are going to just hit it off or they are going to find the grand pooh-bah upset. Let me tell you know one wants to see him upset.
Gideon has had his heart broken one to many times, this time it was by a cheating snake. So he was starting over. The creep had also dumped all his stuff in goodwill, so starting over was all he had. Thank god for a good friend who had a place lined up just for him. However his new and crazy landlord saw love in the air for him. He had not believed it, that is till he met the guy who lived in the apartment next door.
Reed has finally been honest with himself and his wife, soon to be ex-wife. He had come to terms with him being gay, but he wasn’t really sure how to start over. He moved in a few hours before Gideon and things were going to get real interesting, that is as soon as they realize to red heads could hit it off. To top it off every time the earth shakes you could hear Arthur screaming bloody murder. How are to cats suppose to survive these crazy humans. Then there is an ex-wife who just can’t get her head straight on, and oh you have just got to see where this will go.
This series was what introduced me to this author and lets just say it has my attention all the way. There is adventure, excitement, some crazy characters and lots of love, not to mention the pollen of love just floating around. You also get one crazy group of characters that will charm you and keep you entertained through out. It is a very well developed story with so much to offer you. I always look forward to one of these books and hope that they will continue to lighten my day.
I had a blast reading this and can’t wait to get my hands on some more of John’s work. A gifted author is all I have to say about him. His worlds will always keep you smiling. This is one story that I would definitely be reading more than once. I would also recommend it and the previous books in the series.
Blurb: Captured and accused of piracy, privateer Blaise Risner, captain of the Golden Stallion, finds himself in a clinch – literally – with Confederation Admiral Peter Keller, who promises to see justice done by way of hard labor. But when the chemistry between them rivals the heat of the twin Talixin suns, the dominant admiral decides he wants to handle the rehabilitation of the provocative pirate himself. After their first close encounter, Blaise figures that serving Keller in such a personal capacity won’t be such a terrible sentence.
Keller dispenses his own forms of painful justice and sensual discipline, which usually involve a not-so-resistant Blaise on his knees bound and determined to give as good as he gets. The privateer can’t deny that suffering the handsome admiral’s punishments makes him burn like the fires of the Horsehead Nebula. Serving in the roles of prisoner and captor defines their ‘relationship’, but no power can stop a shooting star … the star of startling passion that flares every time they touch.
Just when Blaise thinks he can navigate the treacherous asteroid field of emotion to find common ground with Keller, an interstellar war tears them apart. Through it all, Blaise’s desire for his captor stands as tall and strong as the monoliths of Maraven, and he’ll go to the very edge of the galaxy and back if that’s what it takes to crack the ice around the admiral’s heart.
Review: Peter uses his position to use Blaise as he see’s fit which did not sit well with me. Blaise is accused of piracy. Seeing no way out of it he makes a deal with Peter to serve out punishment as he see’s fit.
Peter seemed a bit too aggressive to me. I did not really care for his attitude toward Blaise then all of a sudden he changes his tune.
This story fell flat for me. I wanted to like it but could not due to Peter as I did not care for him as a character at all.
Blurb: Meet me in St. Louis, Louis, bite me at the Fair!
Hot dogs and ice cream cones and electricity—oh my! The 1904 World’s Fair has it all!
The world’s spotlight is firmly fixed on St. Louis, Missouri—gateway to the West and host of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Visitors have come from all points of the globe: to gape, to taste, to explore, and to enjoy the marvels which the World’s Fair has to offer.
William Deming is an ambitious young reporter from Utah. He sees a chance not only to visit the fair, but to make a name for himself by reporting on it. He takes a room in a boarding house close on Lindell Boulevard, close to the Fair itself. What he doesn’t count on is meeting Misha—a young and handsome Russian, whose aunt owns the boarding house.
Misha is something William has never encountered before—a vampire! Before he can wrap his head around Misha’s revelation, a man is discovered murdered at the Fair, and William wonders if his Misha is involved. The evidence is especially damning as there seems to have been a connection between the vampire and the victim. Will an old flame cause new problems for William and Misha? Will they find love at the World’s Fair? Or will theirs be doomed to be a fatal attraction?
Review: Misha lives his life as quietly as he can with the help of his aunt when a new boarder catches his eye. William has been sent to do a story on the first World Fair when his eye is caught by Misha and he decides that maybe he can do the story and still have some fun.
This is a well thought out story that has a good outline and plot. Misha has a somewhat lonely existence and he begins to long for something different. William is just covering the World Fair and falls into a dalliance with Misha. These two men seem to be a good fit for each other and fell for each other quickly and they were quite passionate towards each other.
I liked the slight mystery and the danger, but I thought that things fell into place too easily. The start of the book was a bit hard to get into but as it progressed it seemed less stiff. It seemed contrived at times and there was one point that I really found hard to believe. I mean out of all those thousands of people they just decided it was Misha…for no reason at all.
I will recommend this to those who love historical, vampires, gentle sex and angst.
Blurb: The last thing Sebastian Zeller wants is to be pack Alpha. But when the pack leader, his uncle Ron, is attacked, he has no choice but to leave his beloved Colorado mountains and fulfill his duty as Ron’s heir—at least until his uncle recovers. In the meantime, he intends to lure the attacker out… and make them pay.
When Ron gets wind of Sebastian’s plan to catch the attacker, he doesn’t like the idea of risking his heir. That’s where Jaxon Reedis comes in—he’ll balance protecting the dark and sexy werewolf with pretending to be his personal assistant. He’s walking a fine line that requires all his foxy wit and craftiness… and that’s on top of the inescapable feeling that he and Sebastian are meant for each other. When the attacker returns, will they be able to maintain their deepening bond when danger threatens to tear down everything they’re building?
Review: Sebastian and his best friend Alan are trying to find out who hurt his alpha. Not only was Ron his alpha but his uncle, the one man who raised him. He was not a hunter however but a designer, although he can and does kick ass. To bad his uncle knows him pretty good, because it would seem he has a feisty and very sexy fox to keep an eye on him. Although the sexy man says he is his personal assistant, but somehow Sebastian has figured it out. For one he has never seen a personal assistant shoot like this one does.
Jaxon was trained to be a personal assistant, cook, butler and the job he truly does, bodyguard. And what a body to guard, damn sexy. Now if he can just figure out what Ron is hiding from them all.
This story is full of excitement, adventure, danger and some pretty hot times for them all. I have not had a chance to read many books by this author but after reading this I will definitely be looking for more. I got a big kick out of the characters and the fact that there is a wolf pack, fox, big cats and lets not forget Ty who just so happens to be elk. Mixture of prey and predators is pretty unique and fun.
Now it is action packed, but there seemed to be a bit more in the story then is needed, not to mention the fox. He is the bodyguard and he shoots like one, but doesn’t really come off as one to me. There were only a handful of times it came out, mostly just fun times. The mix just seemed a bit off to me. Although that is my only issues with this book, because lets face it, this story rocks.
When the Starfire is struck by a mysterious and deadly plague, the captain and crew have no choice but to throw themselves on the mercy of the healers of a nearby, uncharted planet. First Officer Ryan Nelson accompanies the sickest patients to the planet’s surface, where he is put under the supervision of Juo-ta-ri, an apprentice to one of the healers who is helping the crew. The two have barely begun to explore the chemistry between them when Ryan’s body betrays him and he falls ill as well. Now it’s a race against time to see if Juo can bring the fever down before Ryan’s hallucinations kill him.
First Edition published in the Dreamspinner Press anthology Size Matters.
Review: The ship Ryan is on is struck by a deadly plague. They contact an unknown planet and ask for help. The angel beings on the planet agree to help and collect the sick to care for. Juo is a healer and takes Ryan in when he comes along with the sick. The two grow closer together but Ryan comes down with the plague.
While I liked the overall story I was honestly expecting more explanations about the disease and where it comes from plus the actual treatment of the crew but the story focused on Juo and Ryan. It felt more like a regular contemporary story to me.
Blurb:Two men afraid to feel, have to make choices that could end up breaking down their defenses and leading them back to love.
Every time Max Van Hellren steps on the ice he knows it could be his last time. At thirty he’s past his hockey prime but he’s also hiding a life-threatening injury that private doctors warn could kill him. This is his last season, and there’s a chance he could lift the Stanley Cup after fourteen years in the NHL. He just needs to stay safe and healthy; difficult when he’s known for his heavy hitting and with a propensity for dropping the gloves and putting his body in the way of pucks to keep his team safe.
A one night stand with a sexy man was just what he needed, dangerous and hot, but what if it turned into more? Would he actually have to share the secrets he so desperately tries to hide?
Ben Worthington had it all. A fulfilling job running the CrossRoads Shelter, his loving aunts, and a husband that understood his devotion to animals. Then, the love of his life left him, succumbing so quickly to an unexpected sickness that Ben never had time to say goodbye. The violent loss scarred him.
Unable to move past his fears, he moves from lonely encounter to lonely encounter, slaking a desperate need that is eating away at him, but never making a connection that could lead him back into love. One night with Max makes him want more, but will giving into the temptation open the door to feelings he can’t contain?
Can these two broken men ever find a way to be together?
Review: This story is an excellent addition to the Harrisburg Railers series, and while Max says goodbye to the team the story fulfils its happy ever after with bright hope for the future as he finds love with animal lover Ben.
Max has a secret he has hidden from everyone, but he’s hoping that his last season will fulfil his dreams of a Stanley Cup win. Meeting a man he could love never crossed his mind but bumping into Ben from the local no kill shelter has him evaluating just what he wants after his hockey career ends.
Ben has sunk himself into his shelter for the past couple of years after losing his husband so suddenly, when he meets a sexy hockey player who ticks all his boxes he doesn’t know if he should take another chance on love. When his nephew turns up it’s up to Ben to keep him safe from the boys’ father, his brother-in-law who despises Ben, and Ben finds himself in the man’s crosshairs.
I have to say that this story is attention grabbing, with the various issues that crop up there is never a dull page. We get drawn in pretty quickly and as we get to know the characters we root for them to overcome their fears and accept the love they are offered.
Ben is a sweet man who has a heart of gold, the loss he still feels for his husband is poignant and his fears over losing someone else is understandable, especially when Max reveals his secret. Max first comes off as someone looking for a good time, but it soon becomes clear that he is searching for something that he didn’t know he was looking for. Together they make an amazing couple, their feelings for each other plain to see and their hotness just blazes the pages.
This story is well written and the characters are brilliant, whether it’s Ben and Max or the Railers team as a whole each character is well developed and as each graces the page their individual personalities shine through. The storyline is crafted in such a way that you never know when the trouble will strike and that ending! OMG it was brilliant executed, smacking you in the face with shock.
I recommend this to those who love fantastic characters, great storylines of exciting hockey, finding new love and a dash of danger.

About J.P.!
J.P. Jackson works as an IT analyst in health care during the day, where if cornered he’d confess to casting spells to ensure clinicians actually use the electronic medical charting system he configures and implements.
At night however, the writing happens, where demons, witches and shape shifters congregate around the kitchen table and general chaos ensues. The insurance company refuses to accept any more claims of ‘acts of the un-god’, and his husband of almost 20 years has very firmly put his foot down on any further wraith summoning’s in the basement. And apparently imps aren’t house-trainable. Occasionally the odd ghost or member of the Fae community stops in for a glass of wine and stories are exchanged. Although the husband doesn’t know it, the two Chihuahuas are in cahoots with the spell casting.
J.P.’s other hobbies include hybridizing African Violets (thanks to grandma), extensive travelling and believe it or not, knitting.
