Blurb: Andrew and Paul learned about God and Jesus in different churches and realize their views of spirituality are worlds apart.

Andrew was raised Catholic and was told his homosexuality was a sin. For his entire life, he hid the truth. He married and had children to present a façade to the world—that of a straight man. It’s not until he has an affair with Paul, who shows him a different side of Jesus, that Andrew realizes he can be gay and still believe in God. Paul’s Jesus is one of acceptance and love, and in Paul’s church, being gay is not a problem.

For Paul and Andrew, falling in love is the easy part of their journey. They must make it through the fires of cheating, being discovered, Andrew’s wife leaving, the necessities of childcare and family life, the demands of their jobs, and working on their commitment to each other.

Only then can they be safe in each other’s heart.

Cat’s Review:  ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts

Andrew was brought up a strict Catholic. He deep down believes that his being gay is a sin, and he is doomed. To keep his family off his back, he married Kristy, a woman who had her own secrets. They fit each other fine, and their marriage is more like an agreement to cover for each other and make their family happy. It works. Kristy gave him two lovely children. She doesn’t have to work, just run the house, and take care of the children. Andrew is a big CEO and goes to the gym. This is where he gets his sexual fulfilment when he needs it.

Then he meets Paul and everything changes.

Paul is a nurse and gay. He doesn’t hide his sexuality. He too is religious, but his church doesn’t condemn people who are. It is an accepting atmosphere. He sees Andrew getting laid in the gym one day and find himself wanting him. They start just hooking up.

Paul isn’t into casual sex but he can’t help himself with Andrew. He knows he will never get anything but a broken heart from a closeted man; it’s worse with a married man and even worse with kids. But every time he makes up his mind to quit; he can’t. Then Andrews life takes a drastic change that affects them both.

First off, I will warn you that there is cheating. Andrew is married. However, he and his wife do have an open marriage. I know some people will still call this cheating.

I bounced around with my rating for quite a while from a 3 to a 4 (I don’t do partials). The reason for this is the writing style. The flow was pretty off kilter. In each chapter, the story would switch character views and time frame with no warning, making the story a bit hard to follow. This was consistent throughout the story. You would be reading then suddenly it is days or even weeks past. It was quite jarring.

But I liked both Andrew and Paul. I felt there were realistic. I loved the slow growth of their relationship and how neither saw it coming. I liked the storyline. There were other characters in the book I would like to read, and this is book two.

Though it stands alone pretty well, I would recommend reading book one first  I am fixing to now)because it does talk about the other characters and at times you feel like something is missing. I think reading book one would have cleared that up.

I decided to rate the story and characters, so I give this a 4.

If you like CEO’s, nurses, coming out, and some very hot man-sex this is for you.

Aerin’s Review: ♥♥♥2.5 Hearts

As much as I love Renae Kaye and as nicely written as this book is, it was a bust. There are so many archaic ways of thinking, so many stereotypes that no matter how great the story flowed, no matter that the kids were adorable, no matter how much I liked Paul, and I simply ended the book in a rage. I usually review a book as soon as I can after reading it so that my feelings and thoughts are fresh in my head, but this time I had to wait until the next day, otherwise my review would’ve been a curse-fest.

I know a few reviewers mentioned how the cheating ruined the book for them, but I disagree on that note. Andrew is married, yes, but Andrew and his wife have a friendship more than a marriage and their agreement is that their marriage is simply for show (and for having kids) and they can both have sex outside of the marriage, as long as they don’t have to have sex together.

I’m not going to criticize their arrangement (much) because I hate to judge and in this case it worked perfectly for them both. Andrew’s many sexual hook-ups can’t exactly be considered cheating because they are encouraged by his wife. The only thing she doesn’t know is that Andrew’s partners are men.

When Paul and Andrew start hooking up it’s clear for them both that this isn’t a simply sexual relationship. Andrew is deeply closeted and doesn’t have any intention on coming out and ruining his life and his reputation. But the two of them form a close friendship and they end up falling for each other.

This is the one and only thing I liked about their relationship, the love I knew they felt for each other. Andrew was a bloody idiot, a religious catholic who believed that gay men are sinners and that gay sex is unnatural. Yet he has no problem bending over and taking it in the ass like a pro. Sometimes even giving other gym members a show. Double-Standard much???

I got so sick of hearing about Leviticus and all the bullshit that comes with that name! And speaking of religion. Did we really need a full sermon about the interpretation of the Bible and Jesus’s stand on homosexuality? I understand what was intended by Paul’s priest, but I truly wanted to see Andrew come to that conclusion himself. Maybe use his brain and think for himself instead of having the constant ‘Jesus hates me’ pity party. So yeah, the religion was over-used and it didn’t have the intended effects, at least not for me.

Maybe the religion and the other stereotypes (I’ll address those shortly) could’ve been forgiven if not overlooked, if only Andrew and Paul’s relationship would’ve progressed the way you’d expect it to. With the risk of dropping a small spoiler I’ll just say that if it wasn’t for Andrew’s wife leaving him and the kids in order to follow her dreams, Andrew NEVER EVER EVER would’ve acknowledged Paul as his boyfriend, never would’ve come out of the closet, and definitely never would’ve loved Paul like he deserves to be loved.

Andrew is a spineless wimp, an asshole who’s taken total advantage of Paul’s feelings for him and never had the intention of changing their status quo.

Fuck that! The least I expect from a situation like this is the intention of doing something to change things for the better, the fight for the one you love because they’re worth the sacrifice. It was just too convenient that Andrew’s wife left when she left! He never intended to separate from her, so that they could both be with the people they loved.

And speaking of Andrew’s wife… I sincerely hope Australia doesn’t still live in the 16th century when the only thing women were useful for was to bear babies and take care of the house. That was literally all Kristy did throughout her marriage with Andrew and it was one of the reasons she married him. And the fact that that’s the only thing Andrew expected from her was disappointing as hell.

There were nice things about this book as well. Like the hot sex between Andrew and Paul. The fact that we see Paul in total parenting mode while he takes care of Andrew’s kids better than Andrew ever did. Paul with the kids really warmed my heart. And there’s a HEA, a nice one, but as much as I liked seeing it, the journey to get there was not what I needed or expected.

I sincerely hope the next book will be better because I know Renae Kaye can write some bad-ass books. I think it’s Ash’s story so that should be good.

Portia’s Review: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
If I am perfectly honest, it was the cover that drew me to this book. That and the fact that I love R. Cooper’s writing style.

Chico is an easy to character to get a read on. He’s been in a bad situation and is learning to define himself outside of a destructive relationship. For me, this is definitely Chico’s story.  Watching him rediscover his art, make friends and reconnect with family was just beautiful

Rafael was a little harder for me. I kept waiting to find his weakness. Turns out he is just fine with himself and is the perfect guy to bring Chico back to the land of the living. Partly through those dancing lessons, but mainly with just giving Chico back his voice.

I loved all the family dynamics woven within this piece. Both men are blessed with families who love and support them.

The slow burn was absolutely delicious, as Chico lost his battle not to let Rafe in.

Tams’ Review: ♥♥ 2 Hearts
Chico moved to Redwoods at his cousin’s insistence after a bad breakup. He basically leaves the garage apartment above his cousin, long enough to go to work, then come right back home. He was a loner before the break-up, now it’s just reinforced. He’s depressed and doesn’t think he is worth anything to anyone, constantly looking down on and putting himself down. When he meets Rafael at a local dance studio he is volunteering at, he’s smitten, but standoffish. Can the enigmatic, patient, sexy dance instructor pull Chico out of his shell?

This book wore me out. It was chaotic and all over the place. The characters didn’t seem to fit together, and I mean at all. Chico was obviously depressed; he mumbled and rambled on a lot. Rafael had to cajole him more often than not. The ending, loved it! Wish the entire book could have been that good. Sadly, not for me. But the cover is brilliant and the ending made this a 2 star instead of just 1.

Cat’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
One hundred years after the first Asteroid hit causing the world to go into a state of Chaos and find shelter at the mysterious Refuge Inc. 5 years later it hit again leaving the earth filled with deadly toxic gases.

Inside Refuge Inc., there was also a breach in the upper hemisphere causing many to die and the rest to survive in the lower half. There are many rules enforced, and no one is allowed to have children until they can find a place to start over. Then there is a breach on level Ten, the top floor, and chaos ensues unlocking many mysteries and lies.

Science fiction isn’t one of my favorite genres, but I do enjoy a well-written post-apocalyptic story now and again. I have followed this series from the beginning and loved it. I have waited for this one for a very long time and wasn’t disappointed. I love interesting characters, and there was many of them.

I also liked that there was a frequent mention of the first books and Adam and Elliot.

There is a bit more romance in this book, and I really liked that.
If you like Science Fiction, Post-apocalypse, futuristic stories, a good romance and a happy for now ending this is for you.

Even though this is a book 5 it stands alone just fine.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts

I wasn’t to sure about this series at first because of the fact that it is like a futuristic type of story. I had expected zombies so when I started reading it, lets just say I was fascinated with it. Over one hundred years ago an asteroid turned the world into a wasteland, then fifteen years later it made the air deadly. So a safe place was made for the survivors but someone on the inside is trying to change it all.

With a leak on the tenth floor, everyone was ordered to keep the contaminated out. Disobeying orders Vince goes to the upper floors not expecting his friends to follow he was shock to find out that those who were supposed to have been dead were very much alive. Connor will follow Vince everywhere, he has loved the man for years but it is not returned. He had high hopes to change that, but now with all the surprises coming up things just might be changing for all of them.

This story was a shock to me and I can’t tell you how much fun I had reading it. It was so realistic that it felt like I was right there with them. The shock of finding out about the lies they were all told, the betrayal from above, the love and friendship were just a hit for me. I loved that there was so much description to this story it felt so damn real. Although I am glad it wasn’t. I loved how much depth to this story that it had and would definitely put this in my top five favorites list. I hope to read another story about the future because it would be a hit.

I enjoyed this story and would definitely recommend it.

As always, I am grateful and honored to get my greedy little hands on a Kendall McKenna read. A Gentle Kind of Strength hit all my awww buttons. I don’t know if it’s because of the years that I spent in corrections. Or seeing the K-9 officers in my ER, but I loved Ray and Harley.

For me this was more than a romance, it was the making of a family.

The relationship’s slow burn was refreshing. I love that the shy guy finally got his man.

But, that ending. OMG. I swear my heart stopped beating for a few beats.

Highly recommend!

Shorty’s Review: ♥♥♥♥ 3.5 Hearts
I’ve heard a lot of great things about Kendall Mckenna’s books. So was excited when I was given this book to read and review. But I have to tell you I could not see what all the hype was about myself.

Yes it’s a well written story about veterinarian Damien and Ray a K-9 handler. What I could not understand was all the details about the dog Harley and the lack of details about the main character Damien. Did I misunderstand the blurb?

This is a very slow and I mean slow romance and I use that term lightly as I would have given up. I felt that Ray that let the past rule his life instead of seeing what was right in front of him. This story takes place over a long span of time so I got to the point where I wanted to slap them both. Ray, to snap him out of the past and Damien to make him let go and move on to someone who actually sees him.

The sex scenes were hot and passionate. But I truly wish there had been more about Damien and Ray rather than the dog. This story just did not interest me after I started reading and got halfway through.

I’m sorry but I did not care for it myself.

Sawyer, the sole remaining bear shifter, has his hands full trying to keep in line several different species of shifters his protection. When he learns about some new shifters in his territory without permission he goes to see why they are there.

He meets bear shifter Dillon, fox shifter Brad, wolf shifters Kevin and Jerry who are all best friends and own the Bear Claw a bar. I really liked how Sawyer tried his best to listen to everyone’s complaints and resolve them peacefully. Brian was a pain who needed dealing with to stop the unrest he was trying to stir up.
Rudy the leader of the wolves at times seemed cowed by Brian which was not good in my opinion.

There are a lot of characters introduced in the book. Though I really the “story” of the book I felt there was way more se in it than there needed to be. It seemed only a little story and the rest sex which I did not like as I only read one sex scenes and skip the rest. So I was annoyed at how many sex scenes there were.

I was concerned about the way Sawyer used sex to keep the others in line to a point. What would happen if the person he had to deal with under his protection was 100% straight? Would he force them to have sex with him?

Great story but too heavy on the sex for my taste.

Lisa’s Review:  ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

I have read a few stories from Eden in the past and have noticed a lot of them have some pretty good story lines but most are way to sexual for me. Not that I don’t like a lot of sex but when it involves more than 2 or three men who love each other, then I lose interest real fast.

This story is pretty much like a porn to me. A high percentage was sex and the rest was the story itself. In this story it has a level of hierarchy to it. Multiple partners engaging in quite a bit of sex and a bear that at first wants to run them out-of-town. Another group that just wants to get rid of them period. It had a serious tone to it but there is quite a bit of humor in it also. If you love menage’s between shifters and a story that is heavy on sex than you will definitely like this story.

I based my rating on the fact that it does have an interesting story to tell. It gives a new look into shifters and their world that will have you drooling by the time you finish it. It is told in a different type of tone and if you are into stories like this then it will definitely intrigue you and keep you entertained. However for me I am more for the story, plot and characters. I love sex like many readers are however when a story is more sex then actual story I lose interest real fast.

Dillion is a bear shifter who had been kicked out because not only did he not follow the no sex rule, but he was also gay. His alpha had been a cruel one and banned him from his sleuth. He had left and made a little family of his own. There were four of them all different types of shifters. They ran their bar and had fun at all times. They were also very sexual together and apart. Even though the Elk’s wanted them gone times were going good for them. Then in walked one hell of a sexy shifter and Dillion was fascinated. Sawyer was another bear.

Sawyer is alpha all the way and when he heard of four shifters in his territory his goal was to run them out. That is until he see’s them and boy was it going to get frisky. Sawyer’s domination of his group leads is not the best at times, he is getting stressed by all of it. However he looks forward to sharing it with Dillion.

Now I am sure that many will love this book, but for me it was more sex than anything. It didn’t capture my attention like it should. I love a good book that has a good plot, a lot of action and suspense, a bit of mystery and a touch of danger. The plot is simple and engaging but not enough to keep my attention. Although if you like variety of partners, lots of sex, shifter hierarchy, a lot of king then this will be for you.

It is a good story, but not for me.

Prime’s Review: ♥♥♥♥ 3.5 Hearts

The Carpenter is the fifth book in Serena Yates’ Workplace Encounters series. However, none of the books are related and are stand alone stories. This is the second edition of The Carpenter, with Dreamspinner Press re-releasing the whole series. I read the first edition and could not tell the difference for the most part (my memory is a tad dodgy, though). I could not find exactly how the word count has changed on this new edition.

Once again, it seems that the clunky wording which I criticised in the first few books is no longer a problem. The blurbs also continue to be good and accurate. On the plus side, no unnecessary mystery/melodrama was put in the blurb or the story either, which made a far more enjoyable story.

However, the themes of the previous books (closeted MC and MC facing losing their job/business) are there are again, but since it is a standalone book, it doesn’t matter so much to me.

This series is good for an enjoyable, light right where you don’t need to apply too much brain power to understand. This has a bit more drama in it than the other books, but nothing wholly unnecessary.

Aerin’s Review: ♥♥ 2 Hearts

After reading the fifth book in this series, I’m starting to think this author’s writing style doesn’t match my preferences. When reading a series, I expect progress when it comes to writing, but most of all, I want the stories/books to be diverse if they’re not related. The books in this series are not related and can be read independently, but they’re neither diverse nor original.

Tom is the owner of a construction company, a carpenter at heart, whose brother is causing irreparable damage to his already financially compromised business. Tom is hard to connect with, because he’s the big guy who blushes at the drop of a hat, who’s very innocent, and whose credulity resembles that of a 10-year-old child.

He’s also a doormat and completely spineless, and while some people love MCs like that, I prefer mine with a bit more personality. The dialog between him and Matt, his new contract, is predictable, awkward and somewhat cheesy. I had a hard time believing in them as a couple and the plot was not good enough or exciting enough to make up for that; I was bored and I had a hard time staying focused while reading this story.

Matt is older than Tom, but that doesn’t explain why he needed to take charge and take care of Tom’s problems for him. It’s not like they knew each other for a long time, their relationship was barely a week old when Tom’s brother put in motion his evil plan to destroy Tom’s business; Matt’s desire to take charge and fix Tom’s problems made Matt seem a bit creepy. That coupled with the cheesy lovey dovey dialog made for some awkward reading.

I’m still hoping for some improvement and some originality, and I might get my wish. The next book in this series is pretty good so far, so I’m holding my fingers crossed.

Lisa’s Review: Each book in the Federal Paranormal Agency collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Ranger had screwed up with his old pack by falling in love with another’s mate. He had at one time even wanted to keep the little guy with him and not take him back. However he knew it was not fair to Maddox, Scout and himself. So he had left the pack and joined the FPA. When he got there, yes he was still in love with Maddox but he was attracted to the boss.

Too bad Abram wasn’t interested in him. Every time he asked for a case, he was turned down until now. It was just his luck to end up in hell. Then he found out what Abram had been hiding. The damn man was his mate.

Abram had known about Rangers past, and he should not have let his feelings go by what he learned. So he hidden his scent and not told Ranger that they were mates. Then Ranger is abducted and then almost killed. It was time to tell his mate and try to fix the mistake he has made. That and probably get his ass kicked for hiding an important part. But then again make up sex is downright hot.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Shorty’s Review: Abram, a grizzly shifter and head of the FPA, sends his mate, Ranger, a wolf shifter, on a mission to find out about missing shifters. Things turn extremely dangerous when Ranger infiltrate the fighting ring to uncover who is behind it.

Heartbreaking scenes of shifters being drugged to the point where their animal side takes over and they are filled with rage then thrown in a ring to fight one another in animal form.

I was highly disappointed that instead of letting Ranger know he was Abram’s mate, he hide his scent from him so he wouldn’t know. While I understood the reasoning to a point, he still should have trusted him.

Intense scenes, adventure packed book, very well written book made for a fantastic read.

Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this story. It had just the right mix of suspense, angst and paranormal for me. Jamie isn’t so much damaged as shy. He’s found a way to do him, and is okay with pretty much being a hermit.
Sebastian is definitely damaged, and with good cause. He’s been through so much, and chosen silence as his coping mechanism of choice. But, even without speaking, he is such a well-balanced character and I adored him.

I enjoyed the pace of both the romance and the “suspense,” and felt that I was watching a realistic romance unfold. Sebastian wanted to knock boots from day one, but Jamie made him work for it.  But, both of them realized that what was happening to them was special. Not just in terms of their abilities, but the trust that would be their foundation.

Sprinkle in a few ghosts, some pretty hot sheet time, and families mending and this was the perfect weekend read for me. I hope that Alexa Snow lets these do a bit more “housecleaning” in future.

Highly recommend.

Shorty’s Review: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

Very well written book although very long and drawn out story about two men who can both see ghosts but only one of them can communicate with them.

Jamie is an older man who is an editor that finds a young man named Sebastian in his shed. Sebastian can see, hear and communicate with ghosts but can’t speak. He wasn’t always unable to speak though. Jamie can only see the ghosts.

There are a few instances in the book were there was a ghost and twice the different ghosts attempted to interact with Sebastian but he freaks out. There is one ghost who can physically hurt them as happens once to Jamie when he’s pushed down the stairs and once to Sebastian when the ghost grabs him and leaves marks as well as later in the story. The scenes involving any paranormal occurrences were over quick except for in the last two paranormal occurrences regarding different ghosts.

It seemed that most of the book was about the two men getting to know one another and having sex when Jaime was ready to. When Jamie sister’s husband dies in a car accident, they both go to see her and find out that when Jamie touches Sebastian while he’s talking to a ghost that Jamie can hear them as well and communicate with them. Interesting read.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥5 Hearts

Each book in I Want to Bite on Your Ears collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I have been waiting, not so patiently for this book. I love the way this book just draws you in and keeps you there. It gave me everything that I could possibly want in a story. I think among all of the guys on here, it is the defectives that I love the most.

Flynn had been booted out of his pack when he was just a child, and sent to live in the foster care system. When he was thirteen, he took off and has lived on the streets. Now most of us know what the streets are like, so you can imagine how it was.

Some of the shelters were good and honest, yet there was some that were downright evil. The one he had stayed at, he found himself either having to steal money to stay there or give his body away. That is how he met Tanner. He had tried to steal the man’s wallet. The problem was the man was actually a full blow werewolf. Boy was his ass in trouble.

Tanner had found his mate, only to realize he had stolen his wallet. Now intent on getting his mate to the pack doesn’t go the way he planned. I mean he scared the kid so bad he fainted. However, he was intent on not only protecting him but also showing him what a real family is like. Things are bound to heat up.

This is a fascinating story that has me laughing at parts and crying at others. I had a blast reading it and look forward to reading the next book. It gave me gorgeous men, cute mates, excitement, suspense, danger, and some hot sex. It gave me that and so much more.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me you won’t regret it.

Shorty’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 5 Hearts
Very well written story about Flynn, a defective werewolf, who meets his mate Tanner when he tries to steal his wallet. After taking him home, he learns what Flynn has been through and who has hurt him.

Such a heart-wrenching story of all that Flynn endured. But I’m glad Tanner took him out of the dangerous situation he was living and made Duncan pay for the abuse he caused Flynn and other homeless people.

It was sweet when Tanner finally confessed they were mates.

Hot sex between Tanner and Flynn added spice to this fantastic read.

Highly recommended.

Prime’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4.5Hearts

For lack of a better word, this is a really cool story. At the heart is a ghost story, although we also see the trials of a new couple bringing their lives together after meeting each other on holiday. However, to be honest if you read this wanting to read a good ghost story, you’ll get what you’re looking for. If you’re looking for something else, I don’t know what, you might be disappointed.

We don’t get too much depth about Jason and Kevin, our main characters. I think that is rather a pity because they both very likable and relatable characters, which is always the trick to have in a ghost story. Though, Jason has a couple of drama queen moments, Kevin is the strong, silent, dependable, stoic type. The guard dog that the couple purchase through Kevin’s work as a State Trooper, Max the German shepherd, is also an adorable addition to the budding family and a worthy character as well.

The haunted house Jason and Kevin move into is like a minor character itself, serving up the mystery for the story. In the end, once all is said and done, the resolution was both sweet and sensitive. My only problem is I want to know more about Jason and Kevin!

Gigi’s Review: ♥♥♥♥3.5 Hearts
At first I thought this short story was going to be a total stinker, boy meets boy on vacation, has a fling, falls in lurve, they move in together…really? But then things get interesting. As this new couple finds a real estate deal that’s too good to be, true weird things start happening.

As Kevin leaves to go to his day job as a cop, Jason is left alone in the house that starts haunting him. He gets a big bag police dog, and even then, both Jason and the dog start reacting to strange hauntings and happenings in their new home.

Kevin sees his new home and his new love unraveling before his eyes, so he needs to solve this mystery fast. Will his sleuthing skills be enough, and can they put to rest the spirits that are haunting their home and happiness?

Quirky, a little tongue in cheek, a bit cheesy at times but fun enough. I do love a good mystery.

Tams Review: ♥♥ Hearts

Jim has always felt at odds with his own feelings, refusing to admit he could possibly be attracted to other men. He’s had a string of girlfriends, but nothing ever connected, especially sexually. Then he and Glenn are assigned to work together in a class they share and soon those feelings that Jim has tried so hard to bury, begin to surface. Glenn is a romantic at heart, at least that is the way he talks. In actuality, he is just a few shakes shy of a rent boy who lives off of his sugar daddy. When he and Jim meet, sparks fly but Jim is hesitant.

Eventually, Jim can no longer hide his feelings, even from himself and the two spend a romantic week together snowed in and sharing more of themselves with each other than either of them have ever shared with anyone else. Reality sets in when Raymond, sugar daddy, returns home. Will Glenn give up the cushy life style of a kept man for love? Or will Jim find himself exactly where he thought he would be where he ever to act on his feelings, alone.

I wanted to like this story so much more than I did. The concept was crafty, but the execution needed more glue. What was billed as a romantic gay for you story left me cold in the end. The romance between Jim and Glenn felt forced, the storyline was too clinical, and the ending really left a sour taste in my mouth. It was kind of depressing, for me at least. Sorry, I can’t recommend this one, but to each his own, right?

Zane’s Review:  ♥♥♥2.5 Hearts

Though this tale takes place in the 1980’s, the direct manner of storytelling is not unlike the Romantic Literature the two MCs are reading in their class. Unfortunately, we are not in those olden days, and I need more than just curt narrative in my love stories. There was a lack of dialogue and romance, missing emotion. I read about them falling in love, but I didn’t FEEL it until it exploded in a dramatic scene that seemed to appear out of nowhere.

Thunder Snow is a short read with a distinctive and unembellished writing style. What you get is what you see. This is a straightforward story of what happens when two people living life unfulfilled find truth and love in each other, and decide to run with it. There is an honesty here that many books lack, and a directness that was at times refreshing and other times uncomfortable. The story seems to give the message that love may conquer the moment, but reality wins out in the end.

If you’re looking for a short story with smiles and good feels and a hearts and flowers ending, this is not the book for you. Furthermore, I would be remiss if I didn’t give warning of two potential red flags (not for me, but for many MM romance readers); there is cheating, and there is no HEA. However, if you want a direct honest approach at a love story with realism, and don’t mind the fact that life gets in the way of love, give this one a go.

Aerin’s Review: ♥♥♥ 2.5 Hearts

It’s so hard to rate a book when you didn’t like any of the characters. If I started talking about what I liked about it, it would be over in one paragraph, so I’m going to get it out of the way. I liked that there were no grammatical errors. I find lately that more and more books need some serious editing and I’m pleasantly surprised to read books that are well written. The other thing I liked is the sex. Yes, that’s right; the sex is what got this book from a 2 to a 2.5 hearts rating. It was intense and hot, well done! Jared and Adam are the main characters and they’ll start a beautiful relationship when all the drama comes to an end. They have real chemistry, they really do.

And now let me tell you about what I didn’t like. Let’s start with the plot. You know that bet you read about in the blurb, about Adam convincing Jared to lose his virginity to him? The bet is the whole plot. And it didn’t even make any sense what’s so ever. I still have no idea why that bet was made and why Adam accepted it, but I’ll get back to that in a bit.

The secondary characters…..well Jared has it right. They are fucking “batshit crazy,” every single one of them, and I didn’t like them at all. They’re backstabbing and fake, dramatic, can’t keep a secret if it kills them, and they’re MEAN! Especially Clare; I wanted to beat that stupid bitch up, that’s how much she pissed me off.

And you know what? Jared wasn’t really a bad guy, but the fact that he wanted to be friends with that group of assholes left me feeling disappointed. They were so ridiculous….partying, gossiping, doing drugs and mindfucking each other (not in the good way) were their hobbies. Clare the queen bitch, an entitled brat, the rest of the girls (Clare’s kiss-ass crew), Biggie, Adam, and Jared are the members of the “cool” gang. Biggie….don’t get me started on Biggie…born the same day as Notorious BIG’s death, he’s the gangsta’ with more money than brains. No wait, he’s actually smart, just acts like a dumbass.

Since we brought up Biggie, let’s go back to that bet, the one the whole book revolves around. What did Adam have to gain from that bet once he won it?… Biggie’s pink Cadillac (previously owned by Elvis) *snort*. Ok, cool car, right? But Adam is a very rich kid who has a collection of cars. He can afford to buy that car, and Biggie admits at one point that he wanted to sell the car…so what’s the point of the stupid fucking bet?*pulls hair*. Honestly, the plot sucks. So do the characters.

Ok so we established the kids are rich brats. But how about the adults? They HAVE to be better, right? They can’t be as childish and irresponsible, no way! Wrong!!! Let’s start with the one adult we get to see the most of. Jared’s aunt, Hadley, is a 30’ish something woman who leaves Jared alone for weeks at the time so she can go party with her friends. And when she is home, her friends are there and they party every night, to the point where poor Jared has to go sleep at Adam’s house if he wants to get any rest. What a lovely lady she is!!! Jared’s parents suck, his mother is a pushover, his dad’s an asshole; they love Jared so much that the only way they could get through Christmas was keep their wineglasses filled.

I guess you can tell by now that this book frustrated me to my limits. Thank you Jesus for small miracles. Jared and Adam finally got their heads out of their asses (not each other’s unfortunately) and focused on their relationship and the feelings they have for each other. That part was beautiful. The happy ending helped because otherwise I would’ve gone crazy.

I’m not sure I’d recommend this book to anyone because I didn’t really like it and was very hard not to give up on it. But if you like YA books with rich, self entitled brats, a lot of drama and backstabbing, and Macklemore (yep, that’s right) then you might enjoy this.

Cat’s Review:  ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

This is a very complicated story about a group of extremely wealthy teens in their last year of High school. There is a clique that pretty much runs the senior class and school. Clare is a very conniving girl and has set her sights on humiliating the new gay boy. Chris, known as Biggie keeps the group supplied with drugs alcohol and whatever they need and helps organize and run the parties they through.

Adam is also top dog, but he pretty much falls in behind the rest of the clique. Jared is the new kid and though he isn’t hiding, he isn’t exactly out until he meets Clare and she pretty much tells him that she knows his entire history. She warns him against Adam and tells him he tries to get all the guys to bottom for him. Jared is a virgin and doesn’t plan to lose that until he is good and ready.

There is really a lot going on in the story. It really involves each character though Adam and Jared are the main characters. I did like the story but I have to say I wondered why most of the kids in town though 17 or 18, still in school, were left on their own. Practically each of these prominent characters were doing drugs, drinking a lot and it seemed there was a party in one of the houses at all times. I could see this if they were college kids living on their own but kids still in school and at home, it seemed a bit odd.

Having said that I really liked the relationship between Adam and Jared. It wasn’t love at first sight and they built a very solid friendship that grew into more and I will say it was hot.

I recommend this if you like Young Adults stories with lots of parties, conniving friends, and a sexy budding romance.

Lisa’s Review: Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥3.5Hearts

This is the first book by Anya Richards that I have read and it was a great start. I must admit though that it was missing something for me to truly love. It was a bit hard to understand it at first but once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. I suppose if there was a bit more explanation in the lion’s way that it might have made it a bit easier.

Androcles had been taken from his home and made to service women and men, and then his last master Cato had bought him. He serviced his master’s needs, but what he had wanted was his heart and freedom. On the day Cato was dying, he gave Androcles his freedom. He had told him to run and escape. He had somehow ended up in a cave after escaping a pack of wolves only to find himself in front of an injured lion. He thought he was going to lose it when the lion took the form of a gorgeous man.

Okyin had not remembered that he had taken his lion form, so now he feared that he would have to take Androcles’s life. However, what he wanted was his love. He offered him safety and protection in exchange for his silence, but it was also to keep the man he wanted besides him. The problem was Androcles couldn’t let the past go. So it was up to Okyin to show him the way.

This was a blast to read. I had a bit of difficulty with it, but I think I would love to check out the rest of Anya’s stories.

I would recommend reading this if you love sexy men, tender hearts, lion shifters, a bit of danger, a touch of excitement and surprises.
Prime’s Review: Heart Rating: ♥♥♥3Hearts

This book is just about everything I love – historical fantasy (there was almost the opportunity to give an alternate history, too, but we did not get that) and shape shifters. I enjoyed this one – truly, I did – the only problem I had was that this was written as first person in present tense. I’m not a huge fan of first person despite the fact I read enough of it but I really only like first person written in past tense. But I was able to ignore my dislike the first person present tense enough to at least enjoy this novella from start to end.

Androcles is an interesting one, he’s been a slave all his life and only recently freed when mortal danger came upon him. Androcles is also a realist, so he knows if he gets caught, no one will believe that he was freed by his master. Okyin, a lion shifter, is a sweet man with a heart of gold. He’s been wandering the known world after leaving his tribe for a time.

Okyin comes across as somewhat naive, or perhaps just innocent despite the fact that he has known violence. He also has a magical calmness about him, that’s the best I can do, so I hope that makes sense. Regardless, I really enjoyed his character and would have loved to have known more about him and his clan. Because of the POV, Okyin’s character was lacking and mostly because I wanted to know his perspective.

The fact that this is set in the time of Julius Caesar and the Roman Empire is just incidental, and while I love the idea of that I think it would have been cool to have a bit more involvement of the time. This is really a book that could happen at any time in history, or even in some created universe, which is why I think the involvement of the time its set in is lacking. Probably if it was longer, this would have been the case, but nonetheless this is a hot and fascinating read.

Pixie’s Review: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts
This is the 2nd Edition, there are some extra scenes, and editing clean up but there are no changes to the storyline. Talon can’t remember anything from before his parents disappeared. His adoptive parents have told him everything he knows about being Vermithian and he has sworn to never find his mate for the very real fear of pregnancy.

On a routine delivery with his adopted sister, they are thrown across the universe during a storm. Crash landing on Tumaro is the least of Talon’s worry when he awakens and can’t find his sister and is confronted with his mate, Blaze. Blaze is overjoyed to finally have his mate, discovering his mate is also Vermithian is a blessing. Having their mating blessed by The One makes everyone happy, but there are a few who decide that they must go and they face a conspiracy that is centuries’ old, Blaze also has to look for Talon’s brothers and rescue them, brothers that Talon has no knowledge of.

This is a great science fiction story, weaving together an interesting view on what the human race could become. Blaze is the wolf shifter Alpha King. It was prophesied that an Alpha King would mate a Vermithian and change Tumaro forever. Talon has a target on his head, someone high up in GPA wants him, and his family wiped out. Crash landing on Tumaro leads him to the man that he is destined for, a mate he doesn’t want. Coming to terms with his new circumstances, Talon embraces his mating, but still holds back a little, doubting he could fall in love so quickly.

Talon is a fantastic character; he’s fun, bossy, and sweet. Blaze is a wonderful man; he’s an understanding, strong Alpha. He will do anything for his mate and his every breath is devoted to Talon. They make a fantastic couple and are very hot together. The storyline is brilliant and we meet lots of interesting characters who hopefully will get their own stories.

There are a couple of different threads that come together in this story; an old conspiracy to eradicate humans, a prophecy of the Alpha King, a character being blackmailed, some complicated matings, and interesting background stories that look like they will be continued in future books. We are given a story filled with conspiracy, kidnapping, murder, plots, and love.

I recommend this to those who love science fiction, shifters, falling in love, m-preg, a touch of kink, great characters, a brilliant storyline, lots of hints for the future and a very happy ending.

This is the first time I am reading this as I did not read the original. Amazing story with nonstop adventure, action, drama, and danger from start to finish. This book will grab hold and keeps your attention to the very last word. Simply breathtaking details on the palace grounds and inside the palace. I was struck speechless by how smooth a read it was. The sex between Alpha King Blaze and Talon was hot and passionate.

There is a glossary at the beginning and at the end to help with the meanings of different words that are throughout. This was very helpful. Talon is one of three brothers who were separated when they were children by someone evil who wanted them gone as the prophecy states that these young boys will one day help in restoring humanity.

Amazing descriptions of the different worlds and species that are mentioned throughout. I honestly did not care for what happened to Buck when he was 16, nor did I understand why nothing was done about considering his mother who was the Queen at the time, told his father to get those responsible but nothing else was said about it. Maybe it will be answered in the next book.

I could not believe that Torqan, GPA leader, had Talen’s much younger brothers given to a slave ship. I sincerely hope he gets what is coming to him. I could not believe the evil plot that Freud, Anglania, and Elder Bryce thought they’d get away with. Excellent beginning to what is sure to be an outstanding series to read. Highly recommended.

Tams’ Review: ♥♥♥♥♥4.5Hearts
Police Detective Max Bowman makes no secret to his fellow officers that he is gay, but he doesn’t flaunt it either. When out at a bar trying to unwind and grab a quick lay, he puts his trust in the wrong person. Max goes from passing out after being bashed and mugged to waking up in a dark room surrounded by red silk sheets. He can feel the remnants of the attack, but he has no memory of how he got where he is. Well, other than a pair of piercing green eyes.

Carter Grey has been on the run for close to eighty years. He realizes exactly what he is, a killer. But there is a suave and finesse to his style both inside and outside the bedroom. He seduces his meals and enjoys them fully before he drains them then buries them. He was going to drain Max as well, until he was caught up in those brown eyes and the enigma that is Max Bowman.

The two things these men do best is fight, and then make up. Carter is determined to live his life alone, soulless, without love. There is something about Max that calls to him though. He swears Max makes his breath catch and his heartbeat faster, which is saying something since he has no heart and hasn’t sucked a breath in almost a century. Max feels the pull to Carter as well, so much so that he can find Carter just by mentally wanting to. They don’t understand why they want each other so badly and they give a valiant effort to fight the attraction, well Carter does anyway. When an old enemy makes his presence known, Carter fears losing the one man who has made him feel in over eighty years over a false accusation.

Oh, but this book was fun! There was suspense, danger, a bit of comedy and flat out raw sexuality. The banter back and forth between Carter and Max made me snicker more than once. Carter is this other worldly, domineering personality that has to have his way and gives off the ‘I’m not budging’ vibe. While Max is a big, burly cop with the attitude and sex drive to match. There chemistry is immediate and electric, so much so that sometimes it was too much. Like I said, their two favourite things to do were fighting and each other, but the overuse of sex put a little bit of a damper on the story.

But overall, this was still well worth the read. If you are a fan of paranormal, vampires, sex on a stick alpha males and that added air of danger than this is the perfect book for you.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥5Hearts
I love Lisa’s stories and this definitely made my top ten of great mystery and suspense stories. She gives you characters that will draw you in and have you falling in love. It will have you sitting on the edge of your seat and biting your nails waiting for these two men to get what they deserve.

Detective Max Bowman is in search of a killer in the middle of Las Angeles. There was something strange about these killings that kept him guessing, but he is soon to find the answers in a way he never thought he would.

Max was a damn good Detective but when the evidence and leads start drying up, he is left with questions. Although he should have thought just a bit harder on his decision of going out and having a drink. He gets his drink all right and then gets his butt handed to him by two very ruthless men. He slowly wakes up to a very gorgeous man looking down at him and he wakes up in a mood. A mood for sex, that is until he finds out that his sexy hero, is in fact a vampire. A vampire with an attitude.

Carter has been a vampire for a very long time and a published author for just a few years. When he finds a very sexy man, being beat up he decided to help him. Although to be truthful, he also wanted to drain him of his blood. But something was keeping him from going there. He wanted this man for more than blood, he just couldn’t figure out why.

Here there was two men wanting each other and they still needed to find out who was behind the killing. Carter found out who and knew that the man was coming for him. Too bad the man behind the killing was coming after the wrong vampire. Now all they had to do is to give in to their desires and fulfill their most wanted ideas. To keep each other safe and to learn that love over comes all other wants.

I loved this book and cannot wait for more from Lisa. Her stories always gives you sexy men, dangerous situations, suspense and mystery, heated desires, quirky attitudes, a touch of humor and the paranormal world. A world that I found myself captivated in and kept me there to the very end.

I would recommend reading this book especially if you want all of the above and so much more. It was an amazing read that I found myself wanting to read it more than once.

Shorty’s Review: ♥♥♥♥4 Hearts
Shawn Maples is a handsome slayer who is dying of cancer. Master Dominic, sexy leader of the vampire coven is stunned when he realizes Shawn is his mate and a slayer. Shawn tracks a rogue vampire to a theater where he kills him and is injured in the process. Dominic asks if he can turn him to save his life from the cancer slowly killing him.

Shawn denies him but does drink his blood after being satisfied by him. Waking up much later Shawn is disgusted with himself. He goes home where he is confronted by his brother Luke who throws him out after finding out he drank Dominic’s blood. Not having anywhere to go, Shawn heads to his favorite lake where Dominic finds him. In the middle of their conversation, gunfire erupts. Dominic wishes Shawn away and gets him out of there as he questions him how they knew where he was. They determine he’s being tracked by the GPS in his cell phone.

Once they arrive at Dominic’s house Shawn asks Dominic to turn him. After Shawn is turned, he begins to fight with Dominic. Shawn goes hunting with Dominic and afterward at home they talk to Melvin, another vampire, and find out Shawn’s father wants him dead and that the rogue vampires from the west coast that they killed may not be rogues as they were missing from their coven’s and the sabb caught them and they got away.

Shawn’s dad tips his arrows with various substances so they think that vampires are being turned temporally rogue to let others kill them. Melvin is taken by Shawn’s brothers as a trap to get them. In the ensuing battle, both Luke and Hanley are killed but Luke is turned by Shawn and another vampire Vincenzo agrees to be his master. Melvin disappears with Hanley. Melvin returns with Hanley alive and reveals he’s his mate. Shawn’s father disappears along with the other sabbs.

Intriguing vampire story with drama, mystery, and action all throughout this wonderfully written book. The sex scenes were hot and intense.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥5Hearts
This was an amazing story. Each book in this series I have a feeling will focus on a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, we recommend reading the series in sequential order. It keeps me from getting a bit lost in the stories and gives me an insight in to their world. A world that captured my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end.

I love the way each character just mixes with the others. How fast they are to defend what is theirs and what they believe. This story has quite a bit of a twist to it. It seems to have a dark tone to it. I admit I wasn’t so sure about it, but once I started reading, I just couldn’t seem to stop.

Shaw was a vampire hunter, although he seems to go after only the rogues unlike the rest of his family. However, he has one thing they don’t and it is what changes his feelings. He is dying of cancer and just wants to take out the powerful Dominic. A powerful vampire that he had grown up knowing he killed anyone and everyone he comes across. He was told by his family that Dominic killed his grandparents. What he learns is the exact opposite and he is in for a big surprise.

Dominic is the leader of his coven and he also kills rogues. He comes to kill a newly turned rogue, but what he finds is one sexy little slayer. A slayer that is his mate. He knows he is dying from cancer and the only way to save his is to change him and mate him. He is a bit feisty and argues about it all but he soon realizes Dominic is telling the truth. Now between the dangers of his family and the lust he feels he is totally lost. He has fallen in love with the big, bad vampire. And he loves every minute of it.

This was a good story a bit strange but once you start reading, it you won’t be able to put it down. It captured my attention and I cannot wait to read book two. It gives you two sexy men, vampires, vampire slayers, excitement, adventure, action, and danger. Well it gives you that and so much more.

I would recommend reading this book just for the fact that it has sexy vampires in it. You will fall in love with the guys just as I did and that doesn’t even count the way the whole story just flows together.

It seems to have a dark tone to it. I admit I wasn’t too sure about it, but once I started reading, I just couldn’t seem to stop.

Luke was a hateful, vengeful, aggressive, cruel and a sick human being. He hated gay men and he absolutely hated vampires. So when he was dying his little brother changed him. He didn’t ask him and in fact went against what he would have chosen. Here he was stuck with a vampire master and a vampire himself. The thing is one of the older vampires found out a truth, a truth that none of them had none. First, he was to be fixed, after Vincenzo kept him thalled. He was in fact a kidnapped child. A child born from a vampire. Also, when he was ill he told Vincenzo things he never told anyone before. The man he thought was his father had abused him and a brain injury was impeding he focus. He found out that he had been lied to all his life, so when he was calmer he could see that the vampires were not like what he was told. He also found out that he loved being with Vincenzo, although he wasn’t planning on telling him.

Vincenzo had fallen in love with his mate. When he looked in his eyes, there was the glimmer, telling him that this slayer was his life mate. A mate that seemed not to want anything to do with him. A mate that seemed to fight him at every turn. To find out that he was not truly human before he was turned into a vampire was a surprise. Shouldn’t be, Luke and his brothers were unique to say the least. Then the threats were coming for them in even more disturbing ways. Now to keep his mate and his friends safe. What did surprise him was the way Luke behaved when he thought Vincenzo was going to die. Maybe Luke did love him the same way.

I cannot wait to get my hands on the next book. This turned out to be one heck of a good surprise. It has characters that I fell in love with, sexy men, vampires, feisty and head strong mates, lots of danger coming at them and a twisted man who raised them. The story itself was amazing. The way it was told had me fascinated and my attention captured. I loved it and cannot wait to read the next book. It caught my attention with the first paragraph and kept it all the way to the end.

Vincenzo informs, Shawn, Hanley, Dominic, and Melvin that Luke is not taking to being turned into a vampire. Not knowing what else to do he asks Vanessa to help, when that doesn’t work she informs the patriarchs as to what has happened. The patriarchs summon them all to a meeting. Master Geoffrey informs everyone that Luke, Shawn, and Hanley are dhampir children that were stolen by the Sabbatarians many years ago.

The patriarchs ask for their help in eliminating Maples before he gathers an army to wipe everyone out. Dominic remembers what the ancient prophecy says about the three dhimpri’s turned vampire bonding with their masters to be called the six. As long as they stand together, they will be able to destroy the evil and bring in a new age.

Well written and a fantastic read. Loved the details. The sex between the three couples was hot.

Ian works at a bar his boyfriend, Calvin, owns. But, Calvin isn’t out to anyone, so he keeps Ian a secret until his sister comes to town and finds out. Ian wants more from Calvin but doesn’t know how to let his boyfriend know. After seeing Ezra again, he longs for what the sexy man he had a crush on in high school can give him. Ian is cute and is a submissive. When they finally get together, it’s hot and explosive. Calvin ends up beating Ian up after his sister finds out about them and threatens to tell everyone.

I found this story to be somewhat intriguing. Ezra introduces Ian to BDSM, which he craves more of after experiencing it.

The sex was hot and steamy.

Gigi’s Review:  ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

This was a hot, fun story about the one who got away. Old high school crush returns and dominates all of Ian’s thoughts, and eventually his sexual desires too! Glad Ezra did step in because Ian sure is settling for a jerk with his current closeted boyfriend. Things get heated when the current jerkface boyfriend sees that Ian is considering Ezra’s attentions, his family takes notice of their relationship, and the guy gets violent.

Moral of the story: give that high school crush a second chance, and don’t’ settle for vanilla when what you really need is to get your kink on.

This is a short, fun, and sexy little read. A bit extreme when the first sexually dominant scene involves sounding rods, wow, quite the jump there! But still enjoyable.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥2.5Hearts

This was a bizarre story, but kind of cute. It gives you twins that are not actually twins. I mean, they are not brothers, they just looked alike. Everywhere one went the other had been and people would make comments that led them to wondering what was going on. Every time Blayne went somewhere someone would comment, he would tell them that they are either completely lost their minds or he was beginning to.

Blayne finally spots his look alike in a gay bar. However, his best friend Doug distracted him so much that he lost him in the crowd. Doug vows to make it up to him, and the fact that he wants to know the answer to. He also wants to know if Cary looked identical to Blayne naked as well as when he is dressed.

Cary had been involved with Landon. However, he wanted something that Landon had not been able to give. He wanted something that would last. He wanted a partner for life. What he does not expect was to find the one man that looks just like him. Enough to find out if they were alike in other ways.

It was a cute story but strange as all get out. I am not really sure what to say about it. I did actually like it but not enough to want to read it again. It gives you something to think about though. I mean to hot and sexy men getting all bothered when they are together makes for a hot affair. It did leave me hanging at the end though and that I cannot get into. I want a story that has an actual story line that goes further into details. However if you want a story that will give you a humorous side to it. It will keep you laughing at the antic’s to find out who the other is.

Tams Review: ♥ 1 Heart

Blayne Carter goes to pick up his morning coffee and is slightly dumbfounded with the server makes a comment about him just being there. Again, when he takes an empty seat next to another customer, she questions why he’s back so soon. All over town it keeps happening, he’s baffled. Then at the bar, he quite literally runs into a man who could be his twin. It takes several days but then a phone call and an agreement to meet up at a local coffee shop, Blayne and Cary finally come face to face.

It’s like looking into a mirror for them and since they are both gay they decide to find out if the similarities are from head… to toe.
This story had a lot of potential at the start. Two men who look so much alike everyone that meets them thinks they are twins, or in fact the same person. But it was so choppy and mismanaged that the idea never quite took hold. The dialogue between Blayne and Cary was that of two teenage boys about to experience their first sexual encounter. Not that of two grown, successful and always gay men that are not virgins. It just wasn’t cohesive, believable or engaging.

I really wanted to like this book, I have an indecent fascination with twin stories, and this one did not hit the mark though.

LeeAnn’s Review: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

This story took you inside, literally of the porn world. Seriously Calvin somehow gets sucked, no pun intended, well maybe a little, into the porn world where all they do is have sex. Need your pool cleaned? Oops the pool boy won’t have change for when you go to pay him…oh let’s have sex…you know the bartering system. This is awesome for a while, as Calvin looks for Joey, his favourite porn star EVER. However, Calvin realizes that although it is fun to have sex with all these random people, they really have no point other than the sex. And that if anything is not done correctly “them”, the ones who watch, will not be happy!
This story brings, what I always thought about the porn industry, to life. There is a lot of humor, some angst, anger, sadness and want for revenge in this story. You get a little surprise in the book, which I refuse to reveal. You will need to read it to find out what it is. I believe it is worth your time. But don’t take my word for it. Go ahead, buy this, you know you want to. Who wouldn’t with promises of porn with hot sexy guys in it? In the pool, among other various places. So go ahead buy and enjoy your ride…again, pun intended? Maybe…maybe not.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥2.5Hearts

Well I am not really sure what to say about this book. It is way out there in a way I never thought possible. Calvin really didn’t have a life it would seem. However, he has always loved this one character in a porn that he watches. What he had not expected was to get drawn into the porn. One minute he is at home watching it, the next he was having sex with everyone he came across. Sounds like a blast however he was wanting one guy and then he realized all he wanted to do was get back home.

Calvin even manages while doing this amazing porn thing to call his best friend Peachy for help. So he decides to throw in a little attitude and maybe they will kick him out of the movie so he could get home. He did want to take Joey with him but he didn’t think that was possible.

That is until he wakes up to find Joey in his apartment looking completely lost. He has never had anything other than sex, pizza, and beer. Never seen darkness and no women, he was really lost in this world. So Calvin and Peachy try their hardest to show Joey what life will be like here in reality.

It is a funny if not quirky book but it is missing something vital for me to really like it and get into it. I did laugh threw out most of the book, I mean when someone ask you constantly when can I have sex it gets to be a big laugh. I just need a bit more of a plot and story line to really get into it. I did get caught in the beginning but did have a bit of trouble staying with it. It just did not come off as something real to me.
