Blurb: — Nothing can stop true love. Not time. Not even the devil himself. —

1805. Laurent. Indentured servant. Desperate to escape a life that is falling apart.

2017. Beast. Kings of Hell Motorcycle Club vice president. His fists do the talking.

Beast has been disfigured in a fire, but he’s covered his skin with tattoos to make sure no one mistakes his scars for weakness. The accident not only hurt his body, but damaged his soul and self-esteem, so he’s wrapped himself in a tight cocoon of violence and mayhem where no one can reach him.

Until one night, when he finds a young man covered in blood in their clubhouse. Sweet, innocent, and as beautiful as an angel fallen from heaven, Laurent pulls on all of Beast’s heartstrings. Laurent is so lost in the world around him, and is such a tangled mystery, that Beast can’t help but let the man claw his way into the stone that is Beast’s heart.

In 1805, Laurent has no family, no means, and his eyesight is failing. To escape a life of poverty, he uses his beauty, but that only backfires and leads him to a catastrophe that changes his life forever. He takes one step into the abyss and is transported to the future, ready to fight for a life worth living.

What he doesn’t expect in his way is a brutal, gruff wall of tattooed muscle with a tender side that only Laurent is allowed to touch. And yet, if Laurent ever wants to earn his freedom, he might have to tear out the heart of the very man who took care of him when it mattered most.

Review: Oh what a riveting, fantastic story. I was entranced from the beginning when Laurent, a servant from the eighteen hundreds, finds himself in the present. The man who finds him is called Beast, a badly scarred man the result of a fire.

The thing I liked was the differences between them. The past and present collide in a well written story that is mysterious, suspenseful and oh so good. These two souls have been through so much yet together they must continue to fight if they both want to survive.

I loved things were different from Laurent’s perspective. I cannot imagine how I would be if I were in his shoes seeing things I have never seen before and trying to process everything. The mystery was outstanding and well thought out.

I don’t want to give anything away so no spoilers from me sorry. Needless to say I was hooked from start to finish. I could barely put it down for any reason until the very end.

Amazing story that I highly recommend to all.

Blurb: Dayton “Day” Ingram is recovering from an injury suffered in Mexico – and from his failed relationship with fellow Scorpion agent Knight. While researching an old government document, Day realizes he might be holding the key to finding an artistic masterpiece lost since WWII.
But the Russians are looking for it, too, and they have a team in place in Eastern Europe hunting it down. Day and Knight are brought back together when they are charged with getting to the painting first.

Knight wants to leave Mexico and everything that happened there behind and return to the life he had – except it wasn’t much of a life. When he’s partnered up with Day, keeping his distance proves to be challenging. But Day is as stubborn as Knight and isn’t willing to let him walk away.

Their assignment leads them through Germany and Austria with agents hot on their tail – agents willing to do whatever it takes to get to the masterpiece first. If Day and Knight can live long enough to find the painting, they might also discover something even more precious – each other.

Review: Sun & Shadow is the second book in Dirk Greyson’s Day and Knight series. Since having discovered that Dirk Greyson is Andrew Grey’s pen name, I’ve been keen to get my hands on some of his books. I’m quite particular about my suspense books, but I have to say that I have enjoyed the two books in this series.

If you’ve not read the first book, Day and Knight, you have to go back and read it, it is vital as Sun and Shadow picks up where it left off. This is the continuation of Dayton’s, aka Day, and Knighton’s, aka Knight, romance, which is just as rocky as it was in the first book.

Day is still recovering from the gun shot wound he got in Mexico on his mission with Knight. Knight wants to forget about Mexico, everything including his feelings and his failed relationship with Day. The problem is a piece of art that went missing in WWII means that Scorpion, the agency the guys work for, bring the guys together again. The Russians are desperate to get their hands on the artwork. To stop a delicate international relations situation from exploding Day and Knight need to find the art work. Knight is the big tough guy with all the skills he got from this marine training, he also possesses some of the brains of the operation. While Day is a great deal of the brains and the intel of the operation. Their abilities compliment each other. Their professional life together fits together as well as their personal life. Regardless of how well they fit though, with two argumentative men it makes their professional relationship just as rocky as their personal.

This is a fun, Cold War kind of espionage story line. In fact, I have to say that I enjoyed this second installment a bit more than I enjoyed the first book. Day and Knight are two very complex characters and their character development tends to raise tensions between them rather than ease them. These guys are fighters and so it’s so easy to believe that once they get their acts together, that they really do belong to each other. Just like in the first book, the narration was totally top notch reflected the tone, emotion and suspense necessary to pull of this story.

Blurb: As former NSA, Dayton “Day” Ingram has national security chops and now works as a technical analyst for Scorpion. He longs for fieldwork and scuttling an attack gives him his chance. He’s smart, multilingual, and a technological wizard. But his opportunity comes with a hitch. His partner, Knighton, “Knight”, is a real mystery. Despite countless hours of research, Day can find nothing on the agent including his first name.

A former Marine, Knight crawled into a bottle after losing his family. After drying out, he’s offered one last chance: along with Day, to stop a terrorist threat from the Yucatan. To get there without drawing suspicion, Day and Knight board a gay cruise, where the deeply closeted Day and equally closeted Knight must pose as a couple. Tensions run high as Knight communicates very little, and Day bristles at Knight’s heavy-handed need for control.

But after drinking too much, Day and Knight wake up in bed together. As they near their destination, they must infiltrate the terrorist camp and neutralize a plot aimed at America’s technological infrastructure. If they hope to have a life after the mission, one that might include each other, they must learn to trust and rely on each other.

Review: I just recently discovered that Dirk Greyson is the pen name for Andrew Grey, and as I’ve discovered these are mostly intrigue, mystery or suspense type of books. So naturally, being that I love reading everything by Andrew Grey, I just have to give Dirk Greyson a go as well.

I do like a good suspense, but I have to admit that my only reservations for this book is the fact that it looks like an ongoing saga between the two. I’m not normally one for big epic sagas in my MM romances – I usually save that for my science-fiction and historical fantasies.

Nonetheless, this was a enjoyable book, although I feel that this is one of the types of books that I wouldn’t enjoy much reading as I did enjoy the audio narration. Andrew McFerrin is a wonderful narrator, and his tone and pace were absolutely on point for this.

The story is set in a spy agency called Scorpion, where Dayton Ingram, aka Day, wants nothing more than a chance to prove himself as a field agent. As it is he is a wicked technical analyst. Finally his chance has come and he is teamed up with Knighton, aka Knight. Knight is a true mystery, he was a former marine who subsequently became an alcoholic after the death of his family. Now that he has managed to become sober his boss has offered Knight one more chance to hold himself together in the field and get his job done. The problem is that Knight is not so good at communication, which frustrates Day to no end.

The two men are working a terrorist case in the Yucatan. They go undercover as a couple on a gay cruise. Which is all well good except for the fact they are both so deep in the closet that they are probably closer to Narnia than they are to accepting their individual sexualities.

The set up is good and the two have a complex chemistry. I’m not sure if you could call it a love hate type of thing, so I’m just going to stick to this being a complex relationship. And this is why the story is ongoing – Knight in particular has some pretty major demons to face. In fact, it’s not a stretch to begin to think that perhaps a relationship with Day is not the best thing for Knight now. However, despite falling into bed with each other, they need solve their case.

You need to be a fan of suspense or mystery to really like this story. The romance, such as it is, take more of a back seat to the constant battling of personal demons and terrorism. This isn’t a fairytale ending by any means, and I’m moving onto book 2 next to see what happens to Day and Knight. Both guys are likable, but at the same time they both need to work on their communication. The sexual chemistry and the suspense created by the terrorism plot line makes this an enjoyable read.

Never able to put down roots, he couldn’t trust anyone not to take advantage of him, even his own family. If it wasn’t for his best friend, Tech, shielding him, Free’s father would’ve sold him and his skills to the highest bidding crime family when he was still a student at MIT. Free owed Tech his life; so when his friend called for him to come to Atlanta to work with him, he couldn’t say no. However, he wasn’t expecting the overprotective group of detectives that made up Atlanta PD’s most notorious task force. And he certainly wasn’t prepared for the large-and-in-charge SWAT Captain that was responsible for their safety.

Ivan Hart has lived and bled one creed all of his life: To Serve and Protect. His intense focus and determination in law enforcement has led him to finally commanding his own team. He’d worked hard to put together a squad of badasses capable of backing up a very dangerous team of detectives. Being God and Day’s last line of defense came with a lot of responsibility that he took very seriously.

After his divorce was final Hart turned right around and remarried his job. He had his good friends there in the office with him every day, so it was easier to ignore the few quiet hours he spent at home alone each night. Review: Len has spent most of his time on the run. His best friend Tech had saved his butt on many occasions and helped him rescue his mom. Tech had even gotten in trouble with the FBI for some of it. Now here they were working for SWAT. With Len being one of the top hackers in the world, he usually got the job done. The only thing he truly wanted was the Captain, Ivan.

Ivan had gotten out of a nasty marriage with barely the tip of his fingers, and let me say she was a piece of work. He didn’t have much of a self esteem but he was working on it. However his eyes were on a sexy young man that was their tech expert. Now he just had to get the guts to tell him, or at least make a move.

First off a guy as big as Ivan who is also a swat leader should have the balls to tell his ex off. The way this was told the man came off as a pushover. Also it just wasn’t believable with Len and his past, being even close to SWAT. The story plot was amazing, but the story itself was drawn out and dull in parts. It had more descriptive junk added in that was not needed. At first I put it down to them getting to know each other and getting the nerve to even hit on each other. But the way it was told was putting me to sleep in parts. Now that is just me.

On the good side, you get action and lots of it. Car chases, shoot outs, and so much more in this book. The guys were great together and complimented each other. I will admit that I liked Len more, because Ivan just didn’t have the strength he should have had. He showed the strength when it come to backing his men, saving people and even when Len had been in trouble. However he was a pushover with the other females and his ex. Not a good sign for me. I liked the secondary characters quite a bit and enjoyed their banter.

Overall I enjoyed the story and the action. It was not one of my favorites but it was pretty good. I can’t say that it will be read more than once but it will be one that will be staying in my library. I did have fun reading it and look forward to seeing what this author has coming next.

(Blue Unicorn 03)
by

Don Allmon

Love can make a good crime go bad.

JT was a perfectly happy orc building cars in the Arizona desert until his old friend and sometimes lover Austin showed up and talked him into one last crime. Now “one last crime” has snowballed. With a new team of thieves — a supersoldier, a hacker, a driver, a graffiti artist, and a seafaring wizard — JT and Austin are determined to free an artificial intelligence from the dungeon of the Burning Magus.

For JT, this job is more than a prison break; it’s a do-over of The Job That Went Bad two years ago, the catastrophe in which JT lost his closest friend and then chose to abandon everything, even Austin. Maybe this time no one will die. Maybe this time JT can return to Arizona and bury his old life for good.

Except Austin won’t be buried. After two years alone, Austin knows he wants JT — not just as a partner in crime, but as the lover he always should have been. Maybe this time they won’t make the same mistakes, especially when it comes to each other.

Blurb: Scoundrel by nature and master thief by trade, Mouse is the best there is. Sure, his methods may not make him many friends, but he works best alone anyway. And he has never failed a job.
But that could change.

When a stranger with a hefty bag of gold seduces him to take on a task, Mouse knows he’ll regret it. The job? Free Lord Garron, the son of a powerful duke arrested on trumped up charges in a rival duchy. Mouse doesn’t do rescue missions. He’s no altruistic hero, and something about the job reeks. But he cannot turn his back on that much coin – enough to buy a king’s pardon for the murder charge hanging over his head.

Getting Garron out of his tower prison is the easy part. Now, they must escape an army of guardsmen, a walled keep and a city on lockdown, and a ruthless mage using her power to track them. Making matters worse, Mouse is distracted by Garron’s charm and unyielding integrity. Falling for a client can lead to mistakes. Falling for a nobleman can lead to disaster. But Mouse is unprepared for the dangers behind the plot to make Lord Garron disappear.

Review: If you like swashbuckling action, a good bit of grit, violence and witty main characters you’ll love Lord Mouse. I feel like this story is something of a hot action Robinhood with fast paced adventure, rebellion against evil nobles, and prison breaks. Mouse is a sharp and crafty leader even with his small stature. Don’t think dominant men can’t come in small packages either, his fierce fighting skills are equaled by his fierce sexual chemistry.

Lord Garron turns out to be a good foil for Mouse’s otherwise kill first ask questions later behavior. He’s honorable to a fault, and needs to see that sometimes breaking rules is necessary too.

Joel Leslie’s narration makes this story perfect for the audio format. The varied accents he brings to different characters keeps me intrigued and helps define characters especially when the action gets going. I read this book long before I listened to it and I recommend you definitely plug in your ears and download the audio version!

Great read.

Adam hopes he and Duin might end up together when their ordeal ends. Review: Adam is pulled into a world where his help is needed. He is on a mission to acquire a weapon in the hopes that it will restore the balance that was destroyed. Duin is a sort of shifter that is dragged into helping Adam find the weapon.

There is a lot going on throughout the story as our brave souls set out on a journey fraught with danger around every turn. Magical creatures are all in abundance in this exciting story. I loved everything about the story.

The progression was both magical, adventurous, tense situations and at times sweet. I really enjoyed the entire book as I got to know Duin and Adam.

Fantastic read.

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Each book in the Havoc collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Bram is ATF and has been undercover in one of the deadliest motorcycle gangs for close o two years. He was basically a probie and was suppose to be brought in fully. Which means getting his ass kicked, however he decided it was time to get out. To bad they caught on and kicked his ass, dead man walking. Then he got the call, his little brother was missing.

Sweet is the head leader of Havoc, a motorcycle club that was just as deadly if not more. However they also had honor. Sweet could kill when needed so why was he not wanting to kill Bram. A man looking for his brother, a member of another club who was a traitor and surprise of all, ATF.

After reading the first book I was not looking forward to this story. However it turned out better than I thought it would. It is a long drawn out book but the action made up for it. Although I will admit that the action felt a little low for what gangs or clubs usually are. Also there was the fact that this guy was law enforcement and didn’t really come off like it. It makes you wonder what truly happens with undercovers. The characters just seem a bit more fluff then actual bad guys.

There was something missing from the whole book. You have adventure mixed in with danger and kinky sex, but it just wasn’t enough to draw me in like it should have. The story did catch my attention and keep it, but it didn’t make me want to read more. I really liked Sweet and his past does give me more insight into his character but he comes off more like a old man in parts. Bram comes off as weak and not like the character he is suppose to be. I did like that he would do anything for his brother and that brought him up in my eyes.

The story itself is well told and only a few writing errors that were noticed. The pace was a little slower than I would have liked but still was much better than the first one. It is still a little dry to me but it is still a good read. However I hate to admit that I just really didn’t care for it like I should have.

Fortunately, Ryker can’t seem to stay away from Sean—he’s spent the last eight months breaking into Sean’s apartment and stealing into his bed, leaving Sean physically satisfied but increasingly restless.

Sean has always avoided relationships. He likes to come and go without being controlled. And Ryker is possibly the most controlling man he’s ever known. Still, he finds that he wants more from Ryker than their silent nighttime encounters.

Then one of Sean’s thefts goes bad, and Ryker’s protective instincts kick into overdrive. He takes Sean to the Havoc compound, determined to keep him safe. But Sean’s past threatens the safety of Havoc—and everything Ryker holds dear. Worse, Ryker’s hiding secrets of his own. Soon it’s obvious that the adrenaline rush can’t keep them together anymore. Review: Sean has done quite a bit of things that would be considered bad, but he always looks out for his friends. Stealing cars is what he is good at and what he craves, although he is damn good at fixing them too. Stealing cars and racing them seems to be his main drug of choice. He went in to the army to stay out of jail and lost one of his best friends to it. Now he tried to get out of that life, but his other best friend just can’t seem to stop. So he does it to help, but it almost gets him killed.

Ryker was also damn good at stealing cars and running with the Havoc motorcycle club. They seem to be a bad club to get into but then you see the good they are doing as well. Protecting those that need to be protected. Now he needs to protect the one man he loves.

I am not even sure where to go with this review. I can’t say that I like it or even that I hate it. It is a very long drawn out story that just didn’t keep my attention like it should have. It starts off a bit confusing and just kept on going. It is a very well told story but to me it had so much in it that it did the exact opposite of what it should have done. I liked Ryker but didn’t really care for Sean at all. His head is so far up his ass that I am surprised he could breathe. He does everything to protect his best friend, but his best friend needs his ass kicked to the curb. I didn’t like the way the whole book went.

It took so long to even get to the love part of the story that I wasn’t sure it would ever get there. If it had been written with the positive of the club instead of the negative it might have been a better read. When I started reading the book I was hoping that it was more like protection, body guard and kicking ass, but then I realized it was focused more on the idiots stealing cars. Total let down if I say so. The action in the story was not even a big impact in the story.

I am sorry that the whole book was just disappointing to me and I can’t say that I look forward to reading the next book in fear that it will come off the same way. We will see how it goes though. For now I am sorry to say that this book was not for me.

But when his younger brother’s disappearance throws a wrench into his plan, Bram ends up in Shades Run, a town ruled by the notorious Havoc MC. A man who’s never belonged anywhere, and who will do anything to protect his younger brother.

When finding Linc seems impossible, Bram is torn between Sweet, Linc, and revealing his true identities . . . and there appears to be no way out. Once again, he risks it all trying to save it all. Only this time he’s got no backup to save him if he falls.

Review: The gang is on the case of a missing flawless diamond that is cursed. This adventure the gang through several different amazing cities while on the hunt. I found it to be a lively action packed adventurous tale that left me on the edge of my seat.

There are as always lots of sexy times to be had while in the midst of searching and danger. There is simply too much that happens to put it all in a review. But need less to say it was a very enjoyable read.

I loved how the story progressed and did not slow down until the end. These stories are a joy to read as the professor and his team make strides in each case they are given.

Great read.

Review: The professor and his team are back in this fast paced, action packed sequel. Lots of steamy action to be had as well. There is a lot going on as it was non stop from start to finish. I loved all the mystery and heart stopping moments that kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time.

The mysteries were well written and engaging. The details of the scenes made me feel as though I was actually there witnessing the events as they unfolded. The characters all had roles to play and they did an amazing job at it.

All in all it was a great addition to the series.

Kill the dragon, marry the princess, and rule the kingdom. It’s a fantasy come true… if you’re straight.

Adam is a chemistry student and martial artist, active in his local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism. But none of that prepares him to be the savior of a faraway land locked in perpetual dusk.

In a world of shape-shifters, necromancy, and religious politics, Adam is fated to slay the golden dragon, Khalivibra, and defeat its mind-controlling sorcery to help Princess Esmeralda of Aergon retake her city. Tradition dictates he’ll rule by her side—but Adam is much more interested in Duin, a warrior who changes to beast form in the light of the sun… or fire.

Adam hopes he and Duin might end up together when their ordeal ends. But first, the reluctant hero, the spell-casting heir to the throne, the beast-shifting object of Adam’s desire, a six-legged cave lizard, and any allies they can gather must do the impossible… and live to celebrate their victory.

Review: Wow, this book was a fantastic read. It felt similar to the Indiana Jones movies. Action packed adventure and suspense with some very skilled sexy men. This book travels all over the world as the characters are treasure hunters. The different cities were breathtaking. The sex was hot and steamy though there wasn’t a lot of it.

The characters are Luca de Roma, an Italian model, Dr. Eden Santiago, Brazilian Biologist, Shane Houston, cowboy, Will Hunter, college student, Jake Stone, adventurer. These guys were amazing and had me wishing I was with them as the traveled.

I really liked that each of the five were introduced and that their skills and background were included. The characters seemed to come alive as the story progressed leaving the reader wanting more and more. You will be holding your breath, gasping, and sitting on the edge of your seat throughout.

Can’t wait to see what happens next. Simply an amazing book that definitely should be read. I loved it.

Highly recommended.

Blurb: A healer and a warrior fight to survive the winter . . . and each other.

Grif is tired of life as a mercenary—tired of life, period. So he heads off into the mountains, not much caring whether he lives or dies. But when his indifference leaves him unconscious in a snowbank, a stranger finds him and insists on dragging him back from death.

Kiernan doesn’t really have time to nurse a stranger back to health; he’s on an important mission. He doesn’t know why the message he’s carrying is significant, but he’s determined to deliver it, even if it means risking his life in the winter mountains. Still, he can’t just walk away from a fellow traveler in need.

Grif didn’t want to be saved, and he sure as hell doesn’t want to be stuck with an annoying, naïve do-gooder. But since when do the mountains give men what they want? The snow is too deep to travel. Food is scarce. Grif and Kiernan learn to depend on each other, and eventually to care about each other. Neither of them wanted it to happen. But sometimes the mountains don’t give men what they want; sometimes, the mountains give men what they need.

Review: A romance mostly story about Grif and Kiernan doing what they must to survive the harsh weather they find themselves in. I thought Grif’s reason for being out in said weather to be a little irritating. He puts himself and Kiernan in danger because he gives up.

Kiernan rescues him and nurses him back to health. Meanwhile the two are drawn together and start a relationship. Two men are trapped in the middle of a storm fighting to stay alive against all odds. I liked the struggle and the passion between these two as the story progressed.

It was an o.k. read.

Irresistible

by

Andrew J. Peters

Brendan Thackeray-Prentiss is an Ivy League-educated trust-funder who Gotham Magazine named the most eligible gay bachelor in New York City. He lives for finding his soulmate, but after walking in on his boyfriend of three transcendent months soaping up in the shower with an older female publicist, he’s on a steady diet of scotch, benzodiazepines, and compulsive yoga. Men are completely off the menu.

Callisthenes Panagopoulos has a problem most guys dream of. With the body and face of a European soccer heartthrob, the vigorous blond hair of a Mormon missionary, and a smile that makes traffic cops stuff their ticket books back in their utility belts, he’s irresistible to everyone. But being a constant guy-magnet comes with its discontents, like an ex-boyfriend who tried to drive his Smart car through Cal’s front door. It makes him wonder if he’s been cursed when it comes to love.

When Brendan and Cal meet, the attraction is meteoric, and they go from date to mates at the speed of time-lapse photography. But to stay together, they’ll have to overcome Cal’s jealous BFF, Romanian mobsters, hermit widowers, and a dictatorship on the brink of revolution during a dream wedding in the Greek isles that becomes a madcap odyssey.

A gay romantic comedy of errors based on Chariton’s Callirhoe, the world’s oldest extant romance novel.

Warning: Depictions of graphic violence and deaths of secondary characters.
