Outskirts of Rome. An Okiya house in which seven boys live together as geisha; leaded by a transsexual Mama-san. They tell with their own words their love and how they sell away themselves..

Warning: Strong sexual content, violence and you will need tissues.  Not a romance or a HEA.

Review:  Geisha Boys is a very heart-wrenching poignant story of seven young boys plus their Mama-san and how they became rent-boys. I liked how each chapter began with a dossier (character profile) for that character, and then went into his thoughts.  The story has a lot of metaphors and is beautifully written; almost prose like.

I recommend it to anyone that likes something different with no HEA, very rough sex, BDSM, rent boys, Golden Showers, a good cry and a reality check once in a while.

Review:  Encounter

Trevor is backstage trying to calm down for an audition for a part he really wants. He sees Kaspar and both are taken by each other. Kaspar says he can help Trevor relax. Both men agree to a one -time thing. Will this be the only time he sees Kaspar?

As usual this is a very sweet fast short story.  One that when you need something fast to  fill a few minutes , you can count on sweet hot and in this case a bit intriguing.

I recommend this to anyone that likes any of Lee Brazil’s stories, Sweet hot sex, and a hint of something out of this world.  If you like short and sweet you can’t go wrong!

You also get a couple of bonuses.

Finding Justice

Justice is tired of being kept hidden like he is Payton’s dirty little secret. Payton not coming home for their anniversary and saying they don’t have a real relationship to celebrate, Justice leaves. What ensues? Read it and see.

I absolutely loved this story. I am such a sucker for a love that someone will go to any length to find.  Yep I was hooked with this one. Swoon!

Plus you get yet another Bonus

Scenes; Nick

Nick is tired of feeling like he isn’t good enough for Jayden. Nick is just a nurse and Jayden is a singer in a popular band. Finding something in the laundry Nick finds the nerve to finally dump Jayden.

I loved this also. I could see me in Nick. I would have done the same.  Another great, hot story of a love that prevails.

I recommend this book to anyone that loves short sweet love stories with hot sex. You get three for the price of one plus an Excerpt from Lee’s next book…Truth Deeper than Logic

Blurb:   Todd Hoffman, age sixteen, doesn’t have an easy life. Not only does he live with his alcoholic mother in a rundown mobile home, but he’s also a bit of a social outcast at school. He doesn’t have the nice clothing, shoes, and car the other students have. He has only one really close friend, Shannon, but even she doesn’t understand him completely. He knows he can never confide in her his deepest secret. He can’t tell anyone, not even his favorite teacher.

But Todd finds a way to express his feelings when he learns about fan fiction. Being a gifted writer, Todd begins to write stories–gay stories–about another boy he’s secretly crushing on. He posts the stories on a fan fiction website.

When the object of Todd’s affection one day notices him and asks him out, Todd feels like he is suddenly living a dream, that his literary fantasy is becoming real. Soon, however, he realizes that reality and fantasy are two different things, and he has to determine if Galen, the high school soccer team captain, is the boy of his dreams or just another dumb jock.

This is book three of the Dumb Jock series, and the story is linked to the previous books by featuring several common characters. Jeff and Brett are present as are Adam and Trevor. Book three is a continuation of the first two installments, but also serves as a standalone read.

Review:  I love a good nerd/jock novel. I find them fresh and interesting even though some people claim that they have been retold a hundred times. But have they? If you go looking for them, you could only come across one or two. So, when Jeff Erno came out with the third installment of the Dumb Jock series, I had to read it.

The story starts with Todd Hoffman. He has had a pretty rough life since his mom is an alcoholic and they basically live in a trailer park. He is an outcast of life who finds comfort in writing gay fan fiction. His life completely changes after he wins an essay contest at school and his secret crush, Galen Caulfield, notices him and asks him. Galen is the local high school soccer team captain and heart robe. Sparks fly and soon, they find themselves madly in love with each other. But, things are not perfect since their relationship is forbidden by several factors. You have to read this story to find out what they are.

I loved the fact that several previous characters of the series are featured and are linked perfectly well. The one think that I didn’t like was the ending. It was just too sudden. I was expecting a few more chapters, but that left me wanting to read part two of this tale. Overall, Dumb Jock 3: Appearances Matter was an amazing read. I highly recommend this novel to everyone who has read the previous book in the series and for those who enjoy a good nerd/jock theme novel.

As the crown prince, it is essential that he is protected and he is followed everywhere by his bodyguard, Ryland. Dashan can’t even head to a tavern with his friends without Ryland somehow turning up and spoiling his fun.

Dashan disguises himself as a peasant one night and sneaks off to the brothel that he’s heard rumors about – a brothel that caters for men who like men. The prince finds it difficult to admit to himself what his true desires are – he yearns to submit his will to someone else. And Ryland is just the man to show him what that truly means.

Review: Prince Dashan rebels against the strictures on his freedom. Every time he turns around Ryland, his bodyguard and captain of the royal guard, is there. Dashan is desperate to explore his needs, needs that are frowned upon and disguises himself as a peasant and ends up with much more than he bargained for.

This is a very hot short story that scratches some itches, but leaves other itches untouched. Dashan has tried ducking his guard repeatedly, but has never managed to elude him. But, this time Dashan is determined to get away, as he has a certain place in mind to go. Ryland has to look out for the prince and this time he decides to give the prince exactly what he wants.

This is a story that aims for the erotic and hits its target. Ryland is very masterful and knows exactly what Dashan needs. He has seen the way Dashan looks at men and Dashan’s behavior deserves punishment. Dashan wants to be mastered by a man, but because of his circumstances doubts it will ever happen.  So he decides to settle for just one experience with a man. Combining both together is heaven for Dashan, but they both know Dashan will have to do his duty.

I must admit I liked this story and the way it played out for both Ryland and Dashan.  But, I was left disappointed with the ending as it could be loosely termed as a ‘happy for now’ ending.  The sex and kink are very hot and they are a very matched pair in bed.

I will recommend this to those who love fantasy, kink, hot sex, good characters, a very hot short story and an ending that leaves you wanting more.

Review:  Alex thinks that his life is perfect with Gary, even though Gary can be very manipulating. His world is slowly coming down, as their relationship crumbles and he has to deal with his parents divorce. But wait, something is shinning a positive light over him. Could it be the new boy next door? Yes. Dexter is the opposite of Gary. He is funny, understanding and very extrovert. He is the life of the party and the guy you want to have around. The main idea of the story is beautifully told by Maddy Linehan since she is a new fresh voice in the YA world. On the down side, there were a few mistakes, but nothing that would make your eyes bleed. I would recommend this story to anyone who wants to experience High School drama, first true love, more drama and coming to terms with your own sexuality.

Review: Ah, the classic “Closet Case” and it is damn great in all aspects. Eric Dennis is a long closeted man. He has actually never been with a man, although all his fantasies are about them. Having recently broken up with his long term girlfriend, Eric finally makes it up his mind to go to a… gay bar. Yes, this character is the classic “coward” that is nearly drowning by his desires. Yet, he will keep keeping that suffocating mask. God knows how he made his feet drag him inside that bar, but he went and there he gets smitten by Mathew. Mathew is HOT, he is sexy, and he has a smile to blind your eyes and a butt to make you drool on the spot. And although Eric is quite reserved, drool he did. Somehow he got himself to Mathew’s apartment, yet the most he did was to grab Mathew’s butt on the stairs up. Any other man would have let himself go and have the one night stand that a helluva sexy guy is practically begging him for. But, not Eric. Fear, fear and some more fear have him running from the apartment and not looking back.

Months later, fate intervenes and one of the applicants for the personal assistant Eric needs is none other than Mr. Sex on Legs, Mathew. And Eric knows it very well, when he hires him, that Mathew is not safe for work, he knows that Mathew is a tidal wave that will shock his life; he can’t resist it though and takes the risk.

Oh boy, I told the whole story here, but damn it I liked it, no scratch that, I loved it. I loved it so much because Eric was a character that I totally despised. Yes, in the end he made good, but dear Lord, till that end came I hated that character with all my might. The word “chickens**t” kept rolling over my head and the terrible desire to slap a fiction character overwhelmed me. Well, congrats to the author, mission accomplished, your protagonist made me feel. And boy did I feel sorry for poor Mathew, but he had it coming, he should’ve known better. But as the book wanted it this was a happy ending story, well… kinda…

I totally recommend this one, it will make you angry, it will make you hot, and it will make you “awwww” in the end. You will hate the main character, love the second one; you’ll be surprised by the friend and pity the ex. In the end, you’ll have spent your time enjoying a very good book.

Blurb: He’s one wildcat who needs to be tamed…

Washed-up American TV star Dexter Summerfield is adrift in the UK with no friends and a career full of more scandal than highlights. His boss throws him one last lifeline: searching for the elusive Scottish wildcat as part of a nature documentary. But taking on the job means taking on reclusive, dangerously sexy cameraman Kade Macbeth, just the two of them, alone for a week in the wilds of the Scottish Highlands. Kade’s out and proud but Dexter’s straight… isn’t he?

Purchase Link: http://www.smashwords.com/books/view/234974

Review: Dexter is a man who believes that he is owed what he wants. But, that attitude has brought him to the brink of disaster for his career. now he has one last chance to turn his fortunes around and he hates the very thought of a job which he feels is beneath him. Kade is a well-known wildlife cameraman who likes the simple things in life. On his search for the Scottish wildcat, he finds himself attracted Dexter who is nasty, boorish and straight… isn’t he?

Well, this one will definitely get the emotions racing as you try to figure out just how you really feel about the MC’s as the book progresses. Dexter is one of those men who you admire and pant over from afar, but if you got to know him you’d be planning his disappearance and where to bury the body. Kade is the one that you root for, wanting him to shatter the shell that surrounds Dexter and to break down all Dexter’s defensives and to find the man inside that is truly worth loving.

Dexter is a character that you will hate in the beginning and although at times you want to sympathies with him you can never quite reach that emotion, and although he does make you wince a lot you do eventually come to like him but that is solely Kade’s doing. Without Kade, then Dexter would never find redemption in anyone’s eyes. Kade is a great character and you do wonder what he sees in Dexter besides his good looks, because there had to be something to keep Kade wanting the man after he opened his mouth.

Is this a love story that you understand? Will you relate to the characters? Will you be able to fathom the attraction between the two men? And finally will anyone ever understand the ways that love works? I can’t answer any of these, but this story shows two completely different men who somehow fight their way through how they feel and stand up for what they truly want. With one of them managing to change his life around completely in the process and becoming a man that he is proud of.

I am recommending this to those who love difficult relationships, clashes of headstrong men, passionate sex, facing who you truly are and finally a very happy reunion and a happy ever after.

Review:  This short novella had me almost to the point of squealing. Yeah, it wasn’t pretty to listen to, but jeez was I deliciously giddy on the inside. I just couldn’t help it; I was so freaking excited to read another Harper Fox story.

And I was NOT disappointed. There are hit-and-miss authors out there, but I’m getting solid ‘Wows’ with each story of hers I try.

Okay, so for this review, I want to state that, despite giddy squealing, I was a little anxious as to how this story would play out as the two main characters (and love interests) are already together at the start of the story. I wondered then how Mrs. Harper would keep the tension and suspense.

She was clever. (Of course—I’ve come to expect nothing less). While Mitch and Owen are together physically at the start of the book, Mitch is far and away from being emotionally attached as he is still hung up on his ex, who betrayed him, not only by leaving him, but stealing his research as well.

Very quickly, the author shows us the obstacles between Mitch and Owen and their HEA, with Owen quickly drawing away from Mitch. This gives the story a separation-reunion theme that resonates deep. I longed for Mitch to recognize the intimacy he had with Owen, to see what a beautiful person he was. That longing drove the tension and suspense, and it was wonderful.

This story had something else going for it that I really liked—a touch of the mystical. That might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but I found just a hint of the paranormal/magical in this story to give it a little something special, an extra dimension to the story, if you will. And to me it made the climax just right, tying in the relationship developments and the setting, where Mitch is trying to prove his archeological theory and find the ‘saints’ before his ex does.

Short, emotional read. Loved it. Recommend.

Reviewer: Thommie

Review: Outfield Menace is a story set in the 1950’s, following Kurt, a fifteen year old boy whose interests are different from those of other boys his age. That doesn’t seem to be an issue for him, until he sees Angel at the school dance and his whole perspectives change. One thing is certain and clear for him, Angel is beautiful. The moment he realizes his attraction to Angel, to a boy, Kurt is devastated. His mind is in turmoil and when Angel tries to talk to him, his instant reaction is to punch him. That did it. Angel is part of the baseball varsity team, or more accurately, he’s part of Adam’s gang. Life dramatically changes for Kurt; his mind is attacking him from the inside while Adam and Angel are trying to get him from the outside.

This story is narrated from Kurt’s point of view. We see as the author gives full credit to his teenage protagonist, emotions are exaggerated in the unique way teenagers see the word. Drama heightens while the story goes on.

Kurt experiences terror that is multiplied even more in his own head and when everything seem to him doomed, life take another turn and happiness awaits him in the corner. When Angel finally gets to him, Kurt is in it for a big surprise. Angel’s feelings match his own, what’s more Angel makes him see that being homosexual is not a disease, and it’s not wrong or perverted. After all, how can love be wrong?

From sheer terror to ecstatic elation I fully experienced an emotional travel back in time, to my own teen days. The insecurity, the twisting of facts and the emotional charge that are so characteristic in a teenagers mind were not lost in this book. The way we fall in love and dramatize everything about it, the emotional attachment that is so pure in those early days is completely palpable in Outfield Menace.

This book is very intense and the plot twists and changes in every corner. I loved Kurt’s character, his naivety and sheltered life, his sensitivity and guilt that follow him around like his own shadow. But I loved Angel’s character even more. I’m not sure how realistic his approach was, he seemed very intellectual for his age, no matter, I totally adored him. His love for Kurt was amazing, so very beautiful and romantic and his final deed to prove that love nearly broke my heart.

I found Outfield Menace to be a great book; if it wasn’t for the constant repetition of some things I’d be even greater. At some point I found that repetition quite a bit tiresome, however the story, the plot, and the characters make up for it. This is a must read book in my opinion, totally worth it.

Review: To all of you yaoi lovers, I found the right book for you. For those of you who are completely lost and wondering what the hell that is, yaoi focuses on homoerotic male relationships that are usually written by female authors. It is more commonly known as Boys’ Love. You should also know that yaoi novels usually take more than one novel to complete. Basically, if you want to know the ending, you will have to buy both volumes of this novel. Now, with that said, this novel is really fast paced and well written.

When I tell you well written, I’m basically saying that Alex A. Akira does an outstanding job when describing the characters and everything around them. To some, this may take away from the plot, but in reality, this is a work of art written in words. You can perfectly picture every single thing throughout the novel and that reminded me a young and talented woman who became famous because she wrote several novels that included a young wizard. Their genre may be different, but their execution or writing style is almost the same.

Now, back to the novel, the love story in this novel revolves around Michael Black and Kiyoshi Kimura. They both come from very troublesome pasts. I love Michael and Kiyoshi together since they bring out the best out of each other. Somehow they seem to balance each other off perfectly well. Michael comes from family whose family members mysteriously die due to unknown or tragic circumstances. By the young age of fifteen, he was left all alone and to fend for himself. Kiyoshi, on the other hand, is a very unique character since he suffers from multiple personality disorders. My heart broke when I found out what led to his current state. His past is tragic and very sad. Without giving away too much of the plot, Kiyoshi is basically three persons in one and the NPA (National Police Association of Japan) is looking for one of his personalities. It is up to Michael and Ichiro (Kiyoshi’s cousin and Michael’s Sensei) to hide and save him from them. I will recommend this novel to all the yaoi lovers out there and to anyone who wants to try something new and fresh.

Review: Mickey arrived on the planet Wilgrin after running from his family. He is hiding for his life after being chased by a group of thugs when a carriage pulls up and its occupant saves him. Now he finds himself married to a Duke, with the lead thug who chased him as a step-son and a surprise for his husband.

This is an enjoyable story that is amusing and light-hearted. Mickey has been treated like crap for many a year, now he has a fresh start on Wilgrin, if he decides to stay, but others decide he isn’t welcome. But then he meets (giggle) Evander and his life changes again, but not all of it is good. his step-son is the leader of the gang who wanted to beat the crap out of him, his new husband only seems to want him for his body and he has a secret and no clue how his husband will react. Can it get any worse?

I really enjoyed this story and thought the character of Mickey was brilliant, his sometimes rambling thoughts were humorous and kept me invested in Mickey. The progression of the story was quick, but smooth, with hot sex and some tender scenes. I liked the world building we were given and was thankful the author gave a detailed explanation for the Rodeiron species, it made Mickey’s situation more believable. I really liked Mickey’s behavior, it was so true to life and Evander’s reaction was so sweet, their friends add a good round-up with the characters and really added to the story.

Now this story is all from Mickey’s POV, so we don’t get that invested in Evander as we do with Mickey, but Evander seems to be a man who keeps things close to his chest, and is completely oblivious to his son and his actions because he wants to believe his son has turned over a new leaf. His reactions towards Mickey are harder to define as we only see it from Mickey’s side, but, from his reactions later in the book, we see how much he loves Mickey.

I have to recommend this one to those who like science fiction, fantasy, hot sex, and a touch of danger, m-preg and a happy ever after.

Blurb: A lonely stretch of beach becomes a hiding place for two men who, when their paths cross, are determined not to be ships just passing in the night.

Purlman “Purly” Gates—dark, brooding, mysterious, hiding from his past and the hefty price on his head—is hopelessly attracted to the young man who strolls the beach every morning. At the risk of his own exposure and its deadly consequences, Purly succumbs to his desire and sets out to lure the beautiful enigma into his lair.

Lucky Cleary wants the swarthy stranger who watches him from the shadows of the cottage deck, and his morning promenades finally pay off when the man steps out onto the beach and into Lucky’s life in a move to bring their paths together.

But Lucky has a secret as well—a past mistake following close behind him, promising certain death if it catches up with him.

When each man discovers the other’s identity, the truth forms a powerful bond between them and fans the flame of their passion.

But is the meeting of these two lonely souls a beautiful destiny or merely a cruel twist of fate in which their desire is nothing more than the kiss of death for them both?

Review: Purly is a man in hiding. He has done things, in his past, that people want him to pay for and if they catch up with him…well, then he is a dead man. But, while staying at the beach, he sees a man every morning, but fights his attraction for him. Lucky is also in hiding and every morning he passes a man standing on his deck smoking a cigarette, he finds the man attractive and is trying to find a way to speak to him.

This is a lovely gentle novella of a time when you used subtle words and actions to find out if a man was gay. Purly is lying low until he can move on. When he becomes enamored of a young man who walks along the beach every morning. Lucky is that young man, but Lucky is also lying low, but the man on the deck draws him to him daily. When the two first speak there is an attraction between them and although it is what they both want, Purly finds that he can’t go through with it and backs off.

This is a nicely written story, although I wasn’t too keen on the writing style (too much italic for me), but it could be beautiful and lyrical. I did enjoy the storyline, Lucky was genuinely attracted to Purly right from the start and it had taken him a lot to build up courage to speak to Purly. And for Lucky it was an added bonus that Purly could take him away from his exile and also keeps him hidden, because that is exactly what Purly has to do as well… stay hidden. Lucky seems to be a fragile young man, he has been abused in the past and we get a flashback to that time. Purly comes across as a cultured gentleman, but his past is shady and his life is in danger.

The ending had me on tender hooks, but I was able to breathe a sigh of relief. So, I will recommend this to those who want a more gentle, tender romance, low on sex, but high on feelings, with an interesting past for both main characters and a happy ever after.

Review:  Colin Bliss is a book hunter on the green side of his career and personal life. He’s working in an exchange program, across the pond, based on his professional gift and one very big discovery. Not knowing much about the culture and never being away from the United States leads to an affair with his married boss. Conveniently, he’s offered a job of finding a mythical grimoire right around the time he’s dumped by his lover. Colin accepts the side job out of the city mainly to get away from his situation with his boss and coworkers.

One of those coworkers, Septimus Marx, is a mystery to Colin. He’s dark, brooding but sexy as hell. He doesn’t want Colin taking the job and heading off the Isles. Colin doesn’t understand why but he’s determined to go. Of course, Septimus shows up on the train and the house Colin is staying at under the guise of another job. They quickly find out there is a strong attraction between them. Septimus is a surprisingly tender, but all-consuming lover. His passion for Colin is palpable, but Colin thinks their steamy encounters are just physical. We, the readers, realize his feelings for the younger man, even if the clueless Colin, who swears he’s not clueless, doesn’t.

Colin’s unknowingly dangerous hunt for the grimoire continues as the mystery behind the magical book unravels. Magic, Fae and power-hungry men add to the intrigue and nobody knows who to trust. Septimus struggles with guarding Colin and making the most difficult decision of his life. The ending will leave you wanting more. Josh Lanyon has built a beautiful and fascinating world merging magic, romance and mystery. I highly recommend reading this book. Then join me in begging Mr. Lanyon for more!

Blurb:   There’s a fine line between a secret and a lie of omission, and Trenton Otero has been walking that line for years. Past relationships have left Trenton with trust issues; then he met and fell in love with Braden Kelly, and he thought he’d finally found the one man on whom he could depend.

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, but what if those words aren’t the truth? Does the camera lie, or does the mind trick the eye into seeing what it expects to see? Both Trenton and Braden must decide what to believe, and they’d better do it quickly, or it may be too late.

An interfering friend, incriminating photos, and the memories that bind Trenton to the past might just tear the couple apart. Because love and lies can’t coexist.

Review:   This story was amazing. I was stuck after the first page. I couldn’t put it down for a minute! If I can connect with the characters, become one, I’m hooked. I was hooked first paragraph.  I could feel Trent’s pain when Derek dropped the news about his husband cheating. I could also feel his denial. I sat on the edge of my seat every page waiting to see what happened next. There were times I really wanted to smack Trent though and Derek I wanted to smack too- but he would like it, no I take that back he’d prefer to do the smacking. Anyways—the characters all were so well written the story held a lot of pain and past loss. I cried   a lot—

So a little about the story.  Derrick, Trent’s best friend tells Trent his husband is cheating and supplies photo- Trent freaks and runs—straight out into traffic and gets hit. Trent does a lot of reliving his past with an abusive lover. Then there comes a twist when he finally leaves and goes to stay with Derrick and his lover.  Derrick is a Dom.  Then just when you are like- wow I didn’t see that coming—BANG- smacked with another twist! Yeah awesome!

So does Trent leave his husband? Does his husband try to get him back? Does Derrick finally get Trent after all these years? What are these two big twists? I am not telling you will have to read the book!! It’s worth it

Review: Justin struggles with his sexuality until he meets Lucas. But, even then he still has his fears, but with Lucas’s love he will find his way.

This is an extremely touching story from a young man’s POV, as he handles the revelations of his sexuality, his first relationship and the ups and downs that they face as they progress down the path of being a couple. Justin has accepted that he is gay to the extent that as long as it is just him that knows then he can accept it.  He also struggles with his religion and its views on homosexuality. When he meets Lucas, he fears the reaction of those around him and he begins to feel isolated and depressed. Lucas is like a shining light who shows him a way through the darkness.

This story is from Justin’s POV, so we have a lot of his thoughts and internal dialogue.  And, I will be honest; some of it threw me because of the way he sounded.  He sounded a lot older than he was. The same with Lucas, they are both around the ages of 18-20, but they sound more 40-45, they don’t sound like young men. The way that the story is written is very good.  We capture the young Justin as he falls head over heels for Lucas, Lucas and his frustration with his work and Justin’s final acceptance of being gay.

The ending is bittersweet and you may shed a few tears. Justin’s and Lucas’s relationship has some stormy moments as Lucas’s passion and Justin’s apathy clashes, some romantic moments and sweet loving. So, I will recommend this to those who want a coming of age, finding acceptance within one’s self, facing loss, facing bigotry and finding strength, while accepting your love will last forever story.

Review: Seriously, seriously some authors should not be allowed to have endings like this.  It’s just too stressful to refrain from the urge to throw the eReader on the floor and jump up and down on it in frustration. Raffe finally meets someone, after 27 years, that he can touch, but his joy is tampered with the knowledge that his relationship with Torin affects Torin’s twin Lee as well.  and that as a result of their relationship others think the twins are an easy target. Torin has finally found someone who can touch him and who he can touch, but when obstacles are thrown in their path he has no intention of giving Raffe up and anyone who stands in his way will pay.

This is a brilliant science fiction story that is set on a space station with various species that includes two Mantarian and one Thracian, who are mutated humans. TorinLee is unique and there is no way to get around the fact that although they have two separate bodies now, they are still one mind and what one feels so does the other. Raffe has a fierce attraction to Torin and is delighted when he realizes that they are so similar that they can touch and neither will hurt the other,  but things are thrown in the mix that make him feel like he is wrong to want Torin.

To be able to understand exactly what the situation is with TorinLee, you really need to read the book, because I can’t really explain it without sounding mad (and yes, I did try, and like I said…mad ravings), but it is fascinating.  The same for Raffe and it has something to do with the same ultraviolet nebula storm. There’s some scientific research to do with wormholes and there’s a really good spaceship chase and there’s interference from others on the space station and also an attack from visitors (who get what they deserve). Torin and Raffe’s relationship is very passionate, but they don’t go charging into full sex straight away.

I have to tell you that there is a cliff-hanger ending and that, for the first time in years, I will be reading an m/f when Catching Lee is released, because I have to know what happen. So I have to recommend this to those who love original science fiction, hot sex, passionate clinches, complex brother/sister relationships, valiant hopes and dreams and an ending that will have you pulling your hair out.

Review: This is the first time that I have bought this authors work, even though she has several books under her belt, all self-published.  I am now looking forward to reading her other works. Nexhan returns to his clan after an absence of a hundred years, when he meets Cole.   He is happy to have a fling with him, but he knows that as his clan’s numbers have dropped he will have to breed soon. Cole ran from a future he didn’t want, he was sick of being treated differently and being a failure.  When he meets Nexhan, he has dreams of a new future, but he has new things to learn about himself and Nexhan’s shell to crack.

I really enjoyed this book.   Yeah, there were some incorrect words, but otherwise it was well written. I loved the shifter premise of being shifters whose form was similar to a saber-tooth tiger called the Rune Fang. There is very good background for the entire shifter world and I love the way the world building was done quite early on, although it is continually built upon through-out the book.   The way the story is woven is really well done and although you begin to wonder if Nexhan will ever pull his head out of his butt, the characters are all brilliant. Some of the descriptions are just lush.  You could picture the forest and the flowers, and the idea of them using runes painted on their bodies to hide in plain sight was brilliant.

The relationship between Cole and Nexhan is very hot.  And even though Nexhan wants more, he feels that he has to provide cubs for his clan. Cole fled his clan because he didn’t want to go through that himself, so it is a point of unhappiness for him and Nexhan, especially with the way Nexhan treats him. Cole discovers a lot about himself when he is with the Rune Fangs and it is all completely a shock to him. We get to learn snippets about the other clan members and shifters from other clans as well and I think that future stories will expand on their lives.

This is definitely a must read for those who want a new view on shifters and magic, who love hot sex, a whole new premise on the spiritual natures of the shifters, a great story-line and an eventual happy ever after.

Review: Mikhail is a Daeva, a human who has some sort of powers; these powers give the humans an edge over the other supernatural beings inhabiting the world. After the plague that nearly wiped out humanity, the Silver Dawn has reshaped what is left and have taken over. Mikhail starts to look for answers when he notices that vampires have the same gifts as the Daeva, but it puts him in grave danger as the Silver Dawn has secrets that it doesn’t want discovered.

Whoo hoo!!  a great story that is both entertaining and enjoyable. Mik is a young man who has always felt like he has been abandoned in the past.   Now, he keeps people at a distance until Ash.  Ash has snuck his way past his wall and now he’s burrowed in deep and Mik finally lets him in the rest of the way.  As their new relationship progresses , Mik begins to question why Daeva powers are similar to vampires and it isn’t long before someone tries to silence him.

An interesting twist on humans, vampires, werewolves etc.  They had, at one time, lived happily next to each other.   mingling and getting on fine despite the warnings of the Silver Dawn… until the plague strikes humanity. Okay, so even though you can see where it’s going, you still don’t uncover the full story until much later and the truth of the Daeva’s origins is just wow and eww. The characters all add something great to the story and each character we get a brief background on.

Now, even though I liked all the characters, I must admit that Mik is the character that I could relate to the most.   Trying to protect himself from harm.   When he does give in, he loses it almost straight away.   the fear of rejection because he no longer believes in the Silver Dawn, the new fear that he might have to fight or kill the man he loves etc., so he has a bit of angst and lots of dwelling on what could happen. Now the ending leaves you with HOW THE HELL DID THAT HAPPEN because although I’d hoped it would happen there wasn’t an inkling that it would and it was WTF when? Who? Why? And it’s the very last sentence.

So, I will recommend this to those who love Post-Apocalyptic, Vampires, Shifters, Magic, Dystopian, gentle love, a bit of angst, danger, twists and an ending that leaves you begging for more.
