Review: This is my first read of a Mark Zubro novel and it was certainly an interesting book to read. Instead, this is a gritty mystery and realistic enough to real life. The story is narrated by Mike King, an intelligent man who knows his way around, not just the men he falls into bed with, but also knowing his way around the human mind. Being a PI, he also knows how to get his man.

I’m going to put this out there, but for anyone wanting a happily ever after, you’re not going to get it. This isn’t an erotic book either, but don’t worry, there is a lot of sexiness and the actual physical act was alluded to only a few times. Instead, the sexiness comes from the actual character personalities themselves.

Mike King, the PI, has been hired by a millionaire/billionaire who owns a minor league baseball team. There have not only been threats during the construction of their stadium and now the team players are also facing threat from an unknown perpetrator. And of course, everything revolves around money.

Quite honestly, it took me a while to get into the book and then by just over half way I pretty much had the plot figured out. However, I have to admit, it was a whole heap of fun as well. I loved the sarcasm, which was also very amusing. It certainly made the characters more likable in my mind, but then again sarcasm is a natural state for me.

The pace of the book was also good, nick and quick but not too rapid. That’s another reason why I was able to continue on when I was first getting into it, then later when I had figured out the plot. I think for me though, the surprises came in Mike’s personal life, which provided another riveting facet to the plot of this book.

The blurb doesn’t do justice to the complexity of the plot. Reading the blurb, I had expected something in the range of 90 pages, not 300. And because of that, I’m just going to have to leave things as they and not spoil anything!

There are many tiny elements that make up the story, some related some interrelated but on the whole, every bit of information was important, so you can’t get too lazy when you read this one. I also found it amusing how the final chapter basically sums up Mike’s when it comes to men.

This isn’t the type of book I would read on a lazy day, this one requires some brain cells to function to get into and through this one.

Review: This is a fun read and exactly what the blurb says – so no hidden surprises and the plot is simple. It verges more towards fantasy than steampunk, but nevertheless the world of New Alexandrina is an interesting place modelled on the ancient city of Alexandrina. Just like the meme says, in many fantasy or parallel universes, there are zeppelins!

This story is sort of like Idrian’s coming of age, with his master, Maketh and his lover/student Raj, being Idrian’s teachers. The story of Idrian and the ice sculpture is both cute and passionate. You don’t have to strictly like (or love) steampunk to thoroughly enjoy this one!

Review: I don’t know why it is, but to me a gritty western themed book makes me think to the TV show Deadwood. So in my head this has been like Brokeback Deadwood.

The story is told by Tad, a cowboy who enjoys an active sex life with other like-minded men in Cheyenne, where he calls home. But he has a past and part of that was thinking that he had killed a man. Except that man, Clay, turns up very much alive! Set in the West (Cheyenne for the most part) in 1893, this is a nice, quick story, which is enjoyable to read. There is a little mystery set up, which had me wanting, needing to know why Tad had shot Clay 12 years earlier.

And honestly, it was satisfying to read why and the rest f the conclusion to this hot Western.

Review: Okay, so this is going to sound odd. So I explain my rating first. Basically, if there is going to be another book featuring the same characters, then this is a five hearts for me. However, if there isn’t a sequel/follow-up, I’m more inclined to give it a three. In my quest for knowledge, I have not found if there are to be more books. As I said, sounds odd, but I do this for good reason.

If you read the blurb, you see that there are three guys in this love square going on here with Annie. I’m not going to name any names here, so I don’t spoil things! Two of these guys have their stories concluded in very definite ways. The third guy, I feel, just dropped out in the midst of lots of angst, anger and regret. His end was not satisfying, particularly when he was referred to more than once afterwards.

Next thing to get out the way. I normally don’t comment on cover but… come on, that is one hot looking guy on the cover! If only he was more to my mental image of Annie’s brother in law rather than her potential lovers.
There! That’s said and to be quite honest, that was my only real complaint about the book. The previous novella for this series, centres around Annie’s brother, Jesse, and his now partner, the sexy vet Dean. It was great that they were so prominent in this book, but mostly because they were so sweet and supportive when it came to Annie.

The plot of these contains so much melodrama in only 131 pages. The pace of this book just goes along smoothly and doesn’t stop for anyone – even some of the characters. And then it had me in tears, for varying reasons, throughout the book. So well written, I am definitely a convert to Faith Gibson if I hadn’t been after reading Jesse and Dean’s story!

As I said, Annie is the main character and much of this story happens from her perspective. She runs the family bakery with her brother and packs a hell of a lot of secrets! Some are shocking some will be the reason you cry, if do indeed you cry. Then there is Mitch, one of her men that did suffer from the fast pace because he wasn’t featured enough to me.

Although, to be fair he came across as how he was meant to, mysterious and dangerous, I just wanted more of this wonderful teddy bear! This leads us to Marcus and Scott – there’s a lot I could say but I would give away the plot.

These two guys are best friends and both fell in love with Annie in high school. Scott seems to be the hothead of the bunch, but he has some demons in his past, one in particular, is directly related to Marcus and Annie. He’s a sweetie and I really did feel bad for him when he brings up some of the past, and Marcus is really just about in the same book as Scott.

But I won’t say anymore because if I bring up something, it will require explanation which will then give away a very complex read! The complexity used here was great because other than my gripe about one man, metaphorically, being left behind, everything comes together beautifully. I just wish there is going to be a follow-up to properly conclude things! See my frustration? I can’t stop pushing that point. 😉

Anyway, it’s all mystery, romance, sweetness and some hot sex. Hard not to enjoy in my opinion.

Review: Very interesting read with breathtaking descriptions of space and a space battle. The Rel seemed determined to take the Laughing Owl out when they were discovered and attacked. Nick was surprised when the crew knew he and Cai were together.

Plenty of hot sex between Cai and Nick all throughout. Well written. Intense scenes, dramatic and daring maneuvers made for a good read.

Blurb: Chase Parker never imagined he’d run into his high school adversary, Mitch Ramsay, on a commuter train. Four years can do a lot to change a person, like Mitch developing a fascination with Italian poetry and Scrabble, or playing defense for the Detroit Red Wings.

One thing hasn’t changed, however: Mitch is still in love with Chase, and he’s not going to settle for less than everything from Chase in return.

While the history they share isn’t all positive, apologies and honesty might give them a second chance at happiness.

Review: For a short story, this one packed a punch. I really enjoyed reading it, but I wish it were longer. I think this would’ve been an amazing story if it were written as a novel or even a novella.

Chase and Mitch have known each other since high school, so when they meet on a commuter train five years later, they go out to catch up and reconnect. Mitch has been in love with Chase for years and no matter how much time has passed since they’ve seen each other last. Mitch still loves him as strongly as he did back then.

Chase and Mitch had some serious chemistry between then and even though this was a short story and they had sex twice, I can’t say the story was oversexed. I love them as a couple and I really hope for an opportunity to read more about them.

One problem I have with short stories is that I don’t seem to get a feel for the characters. When a story is as short as this was, it’s hard to get to really know the characters, and yet I can say I’m satisfied with what I know so far about Chase and Mitch. Would I like to get to know them better? Hell yeah! And I really wish we were told more about their relationship in high school because even though they discuss and apologize for their behavior back then, I feel like I’m in a fog about what actually took place.

The overall feeling I got is that their relationship wouldn’t have worked a few years back regardless of the feelings they had for each other. They needed to grow up and become who they were meant to be; they both changed and matured and now they’re perfect for one another.

I enjoyed this story a lot; I liked both characters and their relationship and chemistry felt authentic. Recommended!

Blurb: When Mr. Glad Rags meets Mr. Riches, the result is flaming fun.

Tobias “Mas” Maslin doesn’t need much. A place of his own, weekends of clubbing, a rich boyfriend for love and support. Too bad his latest sugar daddy candidate turns out to be married with kids. Mas wants to be special, not someone’s dirty little secret.

When he loses his job and his flat on the same day, his worlds starts unraveling…until he stumbles across a vintage clothing shop. Now to convince the reclusive, eccentric owner he’s in dire need of a salesman.

Perry Cavendish-Fiennes set up Cabbages and Kinks solely to annoy his controlling father. Truth be told, he’d rather spend every spare moment on his true passion, art. When Mas comes flaming into his life talking nineteen to the dozen, he finds himself offering him a job and a place to live.

He should have listened to his instincts. The shop is already financially on the brink, and Mas’s flirting makes him feel things he’s never felt for a man. Yet Mas seems convinced they can make a go of it—in the shop, and together.

Warning: Contains an eccentric, bumbling Englishman, a gobby drama queen, fantastic retro clothing, scary fairies, exes springing out of the woodwork, and a well-aimed glass of bubbly. Written in brilliantly British English.

Review: This book was all kinds of fun!!! Stuff is books two in the Bristol Collections series; Jasper and Lewis from book one are present in this book as well, but it can be read as a stand-alone. That being said, I loved seeing Lewis and Jasper as an established couple.

This book is all about Mas…you remember Mas, right? Well if you don’t remember him, or haven’t read book one, Mas is Jasper’s ex casual lover. I loved him in the first book and I knew his book was going to be right up my alley. Mas is a little bit of a wild thing, and can come across as an equal opportunity slut, but he’s a very kind-hearted young man who dreams about finding someone to love him and want him just the way he is. After losing his job and getting in trouble with the security, he storms his way into Perry’s store, and Perry’s life, as he knew it comes to an abrupt end.

Perry is a hermit, a posh one at that, but a hermit nonetheless. Their upbringing couldn’t have been more different, yet Perry and Mas click. I liked the way they fit together and Mas was exactly what Perry needed to start living and quit moping. Mas outshined Perry in this book by a lot.

I think Perry was rather bland and a bit boring. Mas however was eccentric, loud, a bit of a dramatic queen, but I couldn’t not love him to pieces. His ramblings and constant verbal diarrhea had me smiling, giggling, and laughing the entire time…

“You seem like the kind of bloke who’d have been top in the class in pretty much everything. Not like muggins here. All I learnt at school was how to give head, and that was— Oops!”
“Not on your nelly. I love weird shit. I won’t even raise an eyebrow. Cross my heart and hope to lose my looks.”
“I thought it was ‘hope to die’.”
“There are some fates worse than death. I mean, seriously, can you see me as a bear?
I wouldn’t last five minutes with that lot.”

“So you’re a raconteur?”
“Something like that. More of a gobshite, probably, but hey, it sounds better in
French. Everything sounds better in French, doesn’t it? Ménage a trois, la petite mort,
French kissing. Oh, mon amour! Mon cheri!”

There was of course the dreaded communication issue; sometimes it drives me completely bat-shit crazy, like in this book. We’re not talking about something that creates intense emotions or even some good, tear-your-heart-out angst; this was just some silly I’m-not-good-enough-for-you shit that went on and on and on and….you get the idea.

Plus, Perry was seriously emotionally disabled. You can’t teach someone what a certain feeling or emotion means, normal people come wired to correctly and unconsciously interpret them. He seriously needs some time on Lewis’s couch….for some therapy of course.

I loved this book, it was light and maybe a little too fluffy, but it kept me smiling the whole time. I loved that it had genuinely British dialog, without being watered down to make it easier to grasp. I loved the expressions “Oh, for the love of cock!”, I loved the writing, the dialog was funny as hell; some angst would have made this book perfect for me, but we don’t get everything we wish for, so I’m happy with it the way it is.

I recommend this book especially if you love British humor; this book is the real deal!

Review: This is a very compelling story that just grabbed my attention from the start. It is a fascinating story that I wished was longer. I want to know more about Luke and Avery, what their future will be like. It is as if I was just teased with this story. It left me hungering for more than just this little taste.

Avery had just broken up with his boyfriend of six months for cheating on him. All he wanted to do is to forget, the problem was that they hung out at the same bar. Avery is a fire fighter and his looser boyfriend was a cop. However walking in to see his men, he ended up meeting the newest member of the team. A gorgeous man, Luke had a past that would bring anyone down to their knees. Avery has his work cut out for him, if he is going to see what they have between them. Cause let me tell you, these two are hot and very tempting.

I am not really sure about how it is to be gay nor male, but I have a problem with the fact that a straight man all of a sudden wants a man. It seems a bit strange for me. However it didn’t side track me one bit from this book, and in fact made it even spicier. To know that Luke is about to have sex with a man for the first time is very hot.

I would recommend reading this story. It gave me everything I could want in it. Gorgeous men, sexy fire fighters, a bit of anger and pain, dangerous situations and some hot sex. What could be better than that?

Review: Hart takes a job at the Red Fox Ranch. It seems a welcoming environment for him. The boss, Bay, has OCD, his son Oak is cute as hell to Hart but he knows he’s off-limits so he fights the attraction he felt for him. Oak is energetic and spirited and knows what he wants.

Steve, a family friend, also wants Oak for himself and does anything he can to try to tear Oak and Hart apart. I was so glad they stayed together instead of letting some one’s jealousies tear them apart. Drama and emotional scenes all throughout.

Well written book that enjoyed reading. I especially liked reading how close the people on the ranch seemed to each other. The atmosphere seemed friendly and inviting until Steve came in the picture.

Good read.

Anthony is afraid for his son and Jim as he knows his father won’t stop until he has what he wants.

Such an extremely well written book with details that leave you shocked that a father could do that to his own son. I actually despised his father for what he put Anthony through. But was glad that Anthony and his son got away to reunite with his mate and found safety with Gideon’s pack.

The fight scene was intense. I found myself holding my breath waiting for the outcome. So many well described descriptions that I felt that I was there witnessing everything that was taking place.

A fantastic read and addition to the Silver Bullet Series.

Highly recommended.

Review: I really enjoyed reading this intriguing story. I couldn’t believe how old the directrix was simply because of an ancient ring. The ring itself was beautifully described.

The powers the ring held were awe-inspiring.

There were so many twists in this book with people attempting to back stab each other to get the ring Julian had by any means necessary. Loved the history and origin of the ring. Felt very sad for Amenhotep having to watch his lover, Nergal, pass away. What intrigued me the most were the wings on Nergal’s back.

Well written and full of drama, intrigue and mystery. The sex between Julian and Dinesh was hot. Great read.

Review: Forrest and Lawyer have been best friends for years. While trying to save Forrest’s younger brother from the local gang, they both get busted in a drug raid. Sentenced to ten years they are sent to a maximum-security prison. On the bus ride there, the big man in prison rapes a young man who talked back to him. During the confrontation Forrest and Lawyer draw the attention of the and Lawyer claims Forrest is his. This leads to the two of them having to prove it.

OK, the good first. The sex scenes between Forrest and Lawyer are hot. The writing is fast paced and it good. I enjoyed some of the interaction between the MCs and other characters. There were some pretty funny scenes. I liked both Forrest’s brother and Lawyer’s ex-girlfriend.

OK, for the bad. This book left me seriously stopping to think about things that happened and if that was even possible. An inmate was able to rape another on the bus with the guards not even trying to stop it. What the hell.

That same inmate later is allowed to be in a control room with CCTV and watch the cell Lawyer and Forrest are in, and get a blowjob from a prison guard at the same time. Another what the hell moment for me. There are several other things that happened that just left me shaking my damn head.

Overall, this was a decent book if only because the sex was good and I liked the MCs and SCs. But really, when I have to think too much if something was even legitimate it kind of ruins the book for me. There was just too many of those in it for be completely enjoy this friends-to-lovers story.

Review: Every time I start a new Amy Lane book, I prepare myself to have my heart ripped out, because nobody writes angst like Amy does. I swear I can still FEEL her books a year later. Black John is book 4 in the Johnnies series, and while all the books are wonderful and you shouldn’t miss out on them, this could definitely be read as a standalone. I am happy to say this wasn’t quite as dark as the previous books.

I mean there was definitely plenty of angst, but I’m proud to say I only managed to shed tears ONCE *go me!!!*

This is the story of John, the founder of Johnnies, a friend and a wonderful employer, until he became a coke addict. John has been struggling for a long time and things finally come crashing down. But before he can put himself back together and be the friend and the boss he needs to be, he has to survive rehab and overcome and make peace with his ex-boyfriend/best friend’s (Tory) death.

There was plenty of heartbreak in the relationship between John and Tory, and I got to understand where John’s self-deprecation and low self-esteem is coming from. His relationship with Tory was all kinds of dysfunctional and I definitely didn’t have any pity or sympathy for Tory. What I loved the most about John’s journey, both present and past, is that we find out exactly why John got into the business of filming porn and how Johnnies (and all the previous companies) were created.

For Tory, it was the desperate search for “love” and adoration he could get from multiple sex partners and from the public who would eventually watch his videos. John on the other hand, wanted to show the world how beautiful and fun sex could be, and how lovely it is to see two human beings being intimate while making each other feel good. Tory and John couldn’t have been more different, and I hated that John felt guilty for Tory’s constant fuck-ups, but in the end, he got to meet Galen, and I can say it was all worth it.

Galen was a hot mess; he’s an addict, hooked up on Ox and other prescription painkillers. I’m used to Amy’s characters being damaged, but I thought Galen was the worst of all. When John and Galen got together, I felt like I was witnessing one of those instant friendships, where the people felt like they knew each other forever, even though they were practically strangers.

So what’s wrong with that you say? I honestly thought they were going to be crap in bed, because at first I couldn’t feel any chemistry or sexual attraction between them. But the first time they had sex it was so damn hot, it blew my mind. The chemistry happened so fast, it gave me whiplash.

One moment I was thinking well this romance thing is gonna suck and the next second I’m literally gulping and panting because…DAMN!!! I promise to never ever ever doubt you again Amy Lane! And I liked that Galen was possessive of John because it was about time someone gave that much crap about him, but most of all I loved Galen’s honesty…

“I don’t think anyone in your life has ever loved you the way I do, John Carey, and I am very possessive. Tory may not have cared if you were with other people. Whoever else you’ve had in your bed may not have been particularly… personal. But I will be jealous, possessive, and every inch the bitchy, clingy boyfriend, until you pry me from your side with a crowbar and throw me to the crows. Are we understood?”

I really liked that Galen and John had completely different backgrounds. Galen had been an only child and he was showered with adoration from both his parents. He was especially close to his mother but both his mother and his father were accepting of his sexuality and loved him unconditionally.

John grew up with an abusive, bigoted father who loved to knock him around and bully those weaker than him. His mother was more interested in climbing the social lather than being a good parent to John. There were only two people whom John loved: Tory and his nana; unfortunately, only one of them loved him back.

I loved the memory of nana, what a wonderful old lady! She was so real, full of life, and unapologetic for living her life the way she wanted to. I think she was the only reason John turned out to be such a good person.

“God, John missed his nana. Corrupt and genteel, brisk and kind, that woman called a fool a fool and her family a blight on the pimple on humanity’s ass.”

This story was much easier to read, and it was nowhere near as gutting as Chase in Shadow. It still had its sad moments, it still made me cry (JUST ONCE), but there was a healthy dose of sarcasm and some humor so artfully placed, I found myself laughing while feeling my heart start to break. “Are you hiding a geek from me?” John asked. “Yes. He’s in my penis; would you like to speak with him?” And John’s email to Scott the psycho was hysterical:

Dear psychopath, I’ll publish my drug addiction in the goddamned Sacramento Bee, but you will never again have access to my money, my employees, or my company. We are filing a restraining order, and feel free to suck the come out of your own ass before you contact us again.
Sincerely, your former employer and former junkie,
John Carey

And as much as I started the book with the idea that John is an ass and sure that I was going to absolutely hate Galen, wouldn’t you know I ended up loving them both. They are both very complex and there is so much growth we witness in both of them. They better themselves as individuals in order to feel like they deserve each other and all that hard work doesn’t happen overnight.

I enjoyed seeing most of the Johnnies’ cast; at least the guys we all got to know and love. I love their relationships, their friendships, and the family they all built together. I like how supportive they are and how they have each other’s backs. And somehow, as much as I love them all, Dex is still my favorite. I simply adore him even more than before, if such a thing is possible.

Great writing, amazing characters, priceless life lessons, and well let’s not forget the hot sex because that’s important as well; this book is a great little package. Everyone that loves the MM genre should read it.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

While looking for his missing younger brother that he believes has been kidnapped, Jarrek comes across his mate Valken. At first Jarrek is confused by what he feels, and tries to stay away thinking that Valken is his enemy. Valken doesn’t not help matters by keeping his mouth shut about what has been going on either.

Valken is not a happy man. He has been taken hostage off his own ship, by his mate and Jarrek’s older brother. Unbeknownst to the brothers he could have escaped at any time. He is just biding his time until he can claim his mate.
I liked both MCs in this book. Jarrek is doing what he thinks is the right thing, even though he knows Valken his is mate. Valken is a little put out that his mate is denying him. Plus the fact that he is being held captive. When the two finally clear things up they are pretty explosives, and really sexy.

The writing was done well and moved fast. More information is given about the heirs and their gifts. Also, it gives insight to the next books coming in the series. I also like the unique take on the dragon lore. I always enjoy reading about different takes on well-known themes. I look forward to the next books in the series.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

Slade has endured so much at the hands of Odin and his sick twisted ways. He is now recovering from the last amount of torture he suffered through. But thankfully, he is no longer alone. He was rescued by his family and his mates. First though he has to convince both mates to put aside anything else they may have thought and accept what they could have.

Magnus has always wanted Sylvia, even when she was married to his father Thor. But he never went after her for many reasons. One being that he and his brother were conceived during one of their fathers affairs when married to Sylvia. But now he has Slade, and Slade will not give up until he has his third mate.

To be honest, I would have been just fine with only Magnus and Slade having a relationship. The first part of the book is just them and damn were they hot together and so damn sweet. Slade was an unexpected surprise to Magnus but he is more than happy to have him as a mate. Magnus takes such good care of Slade as he recovers and I just loved them both.

When they finally convince Sylvia to join as their third mate, I was OK with it. But in my opinion, she was not really necessary to the mating. I liked her alright don’t get me wrong. I just feel she did not really add as much to the relationship as Slade and Magnus did. But it may just be that she is not as kick ass in my mind as the other women in the series. I’m not really sure.

Overall, this was another good book in the series. Dana Marie Bell is one of the few authors I still read that does MF books, since I am most definitely MM these days. But she grabbed me a long time ago with this series and another one she does. So I will keep coming back. The hilarious scenes she writes draw me in every time. Plus those love scenes, and the pretty awesome characters, etc.

Blurb: Sometimes you only get one chance at a second chance.

Still finding his footing after a long-overdue divorce, Marcus is looking forward to some mind-numbing drinking while ogling the grooms at Chris and Julien’s wedding. He never expected his attention to be diverted by the gorgeous best man.

One of Julien’s French Foreign Legion buddies, Timur doesn’t speak much English, but language is no barrier to Marcus understanding exactly what the huge Tartar wants—a one-night stand.

Except that one night turns into two, three, then more, which puts Marcus on edge. After Timur is done house sitting for the honeymooning couple, he’s headed back to the Legion for another five years. Like it or not, once Timur gets on that plane, the fling is over.

Unfortunately, Marcus forgot to tell his heart not to fall in love. And this time, if history repeats and he makes another wrong decision, he may never see his tattooed Legionnaire lover again.

Warning: Contains a soldier who makes up for his lack of English by using his hands to read his lover’s body; a chef-turned-bartender who no longer believes in love; a length of paracord that probably wasn’t meant to be used this way; and a couple of newlyweds who are game for some four-way play.

Review: Had to call the fire department to put my flames out because this book was seriously sizzling hot (on the plus side, all that firemen goodness made my boo-boos better). Leaving my goofy side…well aside, I loved this book; I believe it might be the hottest yet in this series.

We have a dark and sexy as hell French Legionnaire (sometimes 2 of them at the same time) and one of Wilde’s bartenders (which we know that all bartenders at Wilde’s are eye candy). According to the recipe, if we put them together, add some ice, a bit of absinthe, top it off with a good bit of vodka and shake well, we get ………KABOOOM! That’s exactly how I felt, gob smacked by the chemistry and intensity between them.

Timur is our sexy legionnaires, a very good friend of Julien’s, who comes to stand in as Julien’s best man in the wedding. Timur is very intense and mysterious, and we don’t really find out much about him. He’s currently between tours and is supposed to reenlist with the legion in a month’s time. Meanwhile he spends that month in Seattle, house sitting the cats that Chris and Julien own.

At the wedding, Timur meets Marcus and sparks fly. Timur doesn’t know much English, but what he knows is enough to keep things simple between them, and really, knowing and speaking the same body language is enough for them. So much less time-consuming—going straight from “welcome” to “well, come.”

Marcus is the most recently hired bartender at Wilde’s. He worked as a chef in a five-star restaurant owned by his ex husband up until their recent divorce. Marcus is still hurt by the divorce and while he doesn’t love Ray anymore, he’s bitter and jaded and doesn’t believe in a happily ever after anymore.

The story is told from his POV and let me tell you, he’s funny as hell. The sarcastic and self-deprecating thoughts he has are hilarious and entertained me throughout the book. When he meets Timur he is so attracted to him, he does something he never really does; forgets English.

I…” Marcus cleared his throat. So he hadn’t imagined how green the best man’s eyes were. Holy Christ. They were even more surprisingly intense because he hadn’t expected that color with almond-shaped eyes. “I’m, uh. Not much of a… I have…” Come on, come on. Speech. English. You know this!

They make small talk and agree to a one-night stand. And their first time together is so hot, it blew my mind. Apparently, Marcus’s mind was blown as well “We can’t…” Breathe? Think? Talk? Fuck. That’s it. We can’t fuck. “We need…we need condoms.” I love L.A Witt because I rarely find a sex scene incredibly hot and funny as hell at the same time. Impressive really.

One nightstand becomes a series of one-night stands because Timur wants to keep seeing Marcus and spend time with him. And that’s what they do. They visit the city and Marcus takes Timur to different tourist attractions, he cooks for him and they have fun together. They really fit and they’re a good match, and Timur is everything Marcus would like in a lover. Too bad, he has to leave soon.

When Chris and Julien return from their honeymoon, the four of them spend some time together. And then the foursome happens *gulp*. I generally am against bringing others to the bedroom when the couple is still relatively new. Chris and Julien just got married and Marcus and Timur only have about 2 weeks under the belt.

Foursomes are messy (no pun intended, heh) and there’s a risk their easy friendship can be destroyed. Marcus is jealous of Timur and Julien, because we know they used to be friends with benefits for years. But the foursome does happen and is the hottest #some I’ve ever seen (felt, heard, tasted…you get the idea, because I swear I felt I was right there between them).

Timur’s time to leave has come and while Marcus really wants him to stay, he can’t accept the idea that Timur has to give up on his life dream, to retire with the legion, for him. He doesn’t want Timur to hate him later on, like Marcus resents his ex husband, and so he lets Timur leave.

I’m not going to tell you what happens next, read it if you want to find out. But I will address a few points that cemented my decision to rate this 4 hearts instead of 5. The foursome….you know, as much as I loved it, I wish it didn’t happen. It seems like all the couples in this series have an open door policy when it comes to the bedroom. And I wish Timur were possessive enough to not want to share. But that is just a ¼ of a star.

What I really wanted to see were the conversations that took place between Timur and Julien. I get that this was Marcus’s POV but they talked in French in the same room with Chris and Marcus, and I really wanted the conversation to be put on page, in French of course. I needed to know more about Timur or get a hint of his feelings and what his thoughts are when it comes to Marcus. And all those filthy things he was telling Marcus, you know the ones that made even Julien blush??? I WANT THEM, DAMN IT!! He said them out loud, so why weren’t they on the page? *pouts and sniffs*

The last thing I kind of wanted to see, but it didn’t affect my rating, is an epilogue. Even a short one to see if they’ve made it and are together, but I hope I’ll get my answer in the next book. I also hope we get to see Ethan and Rhett (I miss them) and Adam and Dale in the next one as well.

I recommend this to anyone and everyone, because this series is amazing and this book was the most intense of them all.
