Miniature artist Ian Meyers has one week to rebuild his damaged set. Needing help, he goes to End o’ Earth, the local comic and gaming shop. Owner Simon Derry pushes all of Ian’s buttons, and he also has steady hands and the skills Ian needs.

Before they can even grab a beer, Ian meets Lydia Derry, Simon’s wife. If Ian had any interest in women, he’d suggest a threesome, but then Simon explains that he and Lydia are polyamorous, and if Ian wants Simon, neither of them will complain. If anything, Lydia encourages the relationship.

Ian’s all in, and it’s fantastic working with Simon to piece together his set and then take each other apart at night. His friendship with Lydia grows too. The only problem is, the more time he spends with Simon, the more he wants everything Simon already has with Lydia: A house. A cat. A commitment. So Ian runs, and shatters the trust he has with them both—right when they need him the most. Piecing their relationships back together might prove harder than a smashed set.

Dylan’s life in the spellster tower has everything he should want: magical knowledge, safety from the King’s Hounds and frequent clandestine affairs with women. All at the cost of his freedom. So when the chance to leave the tower—even as a leashed weapon for the King’s Army—arises, he seizes it.

When his first scouting mission goes awry, Dylan is left alone in a hostile world with the tower a distant beacon of safety. Only the flirtatious Tracker, an elven man whose very presence awakens Dylan’s long-repressed desire, can help him return to his old life before the crown discovers his unleashed status.

But the risk of being branded a deserter may be the least of his concerns as whispers of an armed presence in the North threatens his home. Dylan must rely on Tracker to protect him even as everything he thought he knew begins to unravel around them.

Blurb: Kill his lover or disobey his king and instigate civil war?

As the feared court poison master, Nikko is sworn to do as his king bids. As the lover of the king’s nephew, Lord Rodas, Nikko must hide his affection or risk being labeled a traitor and punished. A former thief who clawed his way into the palace from the filthy streets, Nikko longs to be deserving of Rodas’s love.

A respected war hero, Rodas is in a delicate political situation. He is not the kingdom’s natural heir, though many support his claim over the wastrel, Prince Fortin. The last thing Rodas wants is war. His highest ambition is for Nikko to openly wear the jewels he’s bestowed on him as a public declaration of their love.

Neither man is prepared for the king to order Nikko to poison Rodas during the solstice feast or for the deadly intrigue they’re plunged into, which exposes their affair and rocks the foundations of the kingdom.

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: A thief turned poison master falls in love with the kings nephew. He knew that if it came about he would be in deep shit, so he hid it. Then the king told him to kill Rodas. Where as Rodas was suppose to marry someone with linage, but his love was with Nikko.

I do not even know where to begin with this book. It was not the right choice for a Christmas story at all. There was nothing Christmas about it. Just betrayal, poison, murder and well you get the picture. To top it off, the warrior would still have to marry a female and get her pregnant. Thank god that part was left out.

Even though it is a short story, the author did make it seem longer. For me if this book was actually longer and more to it, it would have turned out better. Although I am afraid that even with that potential, to me it just failed all the way around. I am sorry but this story definitely was not for me.

Blurb: Snowed in together in their college dorm, two men share a quick connection that creates enough heat to spar with the blizzard outside.

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Rory was a bit upset with his boyfriend breaking up with him and his parents off on a long trip. He decided to spend his two-week Christmas break at the dorm’s. Peace and quiet with no one around. That is until one of the freshman was stuck right there with him. James was a quiet young man who didn’t really have any friends. It looks like his luck might just be changing.

I am not normally a fan of very short stories but this one was a blast to read. Not only is it short, but the author seemed to put the whole magic into it. It felt like a nice size story with quite a bit of detail to it. It is perfect for the holidays and has given me a new author to look out for. The characters were entertaining and the sex was pretty hot.

This might just change my idea of short Christmas stories. I had a lot of fun with it and would definitely recommend it. I can also admit that this will probably be on my holiday read list for each Christmas.

Blurb: Elementary school art teacher Cole Peters is expecting a lonely Christmas this year while his longtime boyfriend, James Carducci, is on deployment with the Army. However, a box from James contains puzzles that lead Cole on a scavenger hunt through the greatest moments of their relationship. Together with his best friend Liz, Cole works his way through each clue.

The final puzzle could lead Cole to a gift beyond his wildest expectations.

ISBN: 978-1-64080-295-7

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: James and Cole have been best friends since junior high, and boyfriends not to long after that. James went off to join the military and Cole stayed home to teach kids. Long distance relationship is pretty hard but these two make it seem easy. This is the first Christmas however, when Cole would be celebrating alone. When James sent him a box with a puzzle in it, Cole knew he was in for a hunt.

I found that I actually liked this quite a bit, and would wish that it was turned into a longer story. It is a short story that had quite a bit of detail and depth to it. I was quite surprised, there are not many short stories that have that. Usually you just get a taste and it is done, but this gives you so much more. I enjoyed the adventure and these two are just plain perfect for each other. I will be looking at this author’s work from now on. I had a lot of fun with it and would definitely recommend it.

Blurb: Stokely leads a solitary life, trying to do all the right things. He has a solid, respectable job, a properly decorated, respectable apartment, and goes to work every single day, no matter what. But it’s Christmas, and he hates Christmas, especially since his one guilty pleasure, listening to Asher Banks on the radio, is ruined with upbeat, holiday garbage.

Asher is the polar opposite—he loves Christmas to a fault and schedules himself into the ground with fundraisers to help the local community. When Asher and Stokely meet during one of the holiday spectacles Asher has thrown together, sparks fly, but neither one of them has ever had a real Christmas—or a real home. Will they be able to make one with each other?

ISBN: 978-1-64080-351-0

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Stokely lived his life in foster care, and most of them were not even close to being good places. He grew up hating Christmas and crowds from what I can tell. He has a great job where he helps people but after that he never sees them again. He has a big heart but has been hurt in the past. He has one pleasure and that is listening to Asher on the radio. Even if the guy loves Christmas. When they meet, Asher tries to get him in the mood, but things go really slow with them. But Stokely might just learn to love the holidays.

This one was a really sweet Christmas story but also really sad in parts of it. These two are perfect together. I was glad for the happy ending, but must admit the story was a little slow for me. But it was still a great story. I enjoyed reading it and would definitely recommend it. In a way it tells how a Christmas should be.

Blurb: Christmas is coming, and young couple Casey and Ellis are very much in love. Unfortunately, they’re also the definition of dirt poor, and they don’t have the money for nonessentials like decorations. Or a turkey. Or gifts. Between the recent death of Casey’s beloved momma and Ellis’s estrangement from his family, all they have is each other.

When Ellis finds the saddest-looking Christmas tree south of the Mason-Dixon Line thrown away outside his workplace and brings it home to Casey, things look up. Life is still a struggle, but wealth isn’t always measured in money, and what seems worthless to others is often invaluable to the people who love it.

ISBN: 978-1-64080-294-0

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Young love beats all. Casey and Ellis have been best friends forever and boyfriends for just about as long. With Casey’s mom being gone and Ellis’s family not wanting anything to do with them, it is just them together. However in their eyes that is enough. Christmas time is even made better when Ellis finds a very sad looking tree that was being thrown out. To Casey that was the best tree ever. Things start to look up for them both.

This story is one of those that makes you think about the people around you. It makes you thankful of what you have. This story was probably the perfect Christmas story I have ever came across. It was sweet and tender, will make you cry, and then it will make you smile. I enjoyed the characters and their quirky ways.

I had a blast reading it and can guarantee you will too.

Review: An open window and a frozen man, is what Jim finds up when he gets up in the morning. But in truth what he finds is the man just for him. Jim lost it all, now homeless, all he wanted was a place where he wouldn’t freeze to death. An open window is just the thing.

Blurb: Number one rule for a firefighter: never take your eyes off the flame. Male/male author A.R. Barley is back with a new contemporary romance series.

Former marine and seasoned firefighter Troy Barnes has always kept his sex life on the down low, until he takes back-to-back hits: physically injured in a suspicious warehouse explosion and emotionally blindsided when he’s ditched by his boyfriend. When a flirty young paramedic offers him a place to crash, Troy’s not so willing to give in. He’s never needed help before. But if anyone can break through his tough-guy act, it’s Alex Tate.

Alex has crushed on Troy since the minute he saw him. Now here he is, stripped of his turnout gear and recuperating in Alex’s bed. The tattooed hero may be a fantasy-come-true, but Alex wants more than rebound sex—and he’s not sure Troy’s ex is gone or forgotten.

As each night brings them closer together, Troy realizes there’s more to Alex than he’d ever imagined. And with an arsonist loose in Manhattan, neither he nor Alex realizes just how combustible things are going to get.

Review: I loved this book even though I went in it totally blind and had no idea what to expect. When I requested this book for review, there was no summary available, no genre, no cover, nothing but a title! I’m not that brave usually, but I thought I should give this book a chance, and I’m so happy that I did!

So….. do you (like me) love FIREFIGHTERS and PARAMEDICS in your books, especially when there’s a romance happening between the two? If yes, then you should definitely read this book, because it’s really good!

Troy and Alex both work at the same fire station, Alex as a paramedic and Troy as a firefighter, but that’s all the connection these two have with each other. Troy is pretty much closeted at work and in a secret relationship/friends-with-benefits situation with his best friend and police officer Ian. Alex is out and proud and has been crushing on Troy for a long time, but he knows better than to hit on straight guys.

After battling a dangerous wearhouse fire and rescuing a teenager by taking a dangerous jump out of a window, Troy is beat up all to hell and wants nothing more than a relaxing night at home with Ian. But Ian has a nasty little surprise in store for Troy, and Troy finds himself homeless and without a boyfriend. Alex offers to let Troy crash at his place (with no ulterior motives except maybe ogling tha’ ass) and a beautiful friendship is born between these two.

Troy is determined to include Alex in his group of friends because he truly likes Alex as a person. The chemistry between them is the real deal and once they make it in bed together….phew! So hawt! But Troy is not looking for another friends with benefits relationship, and Alex wants nothing to do with serious relationships after being burned in the past. Something’s gotta give!

There’s lots of action happening in this book, and there’s a sense of mystery to the story due to an arsonist who’s determined to hurt Troy’s team. There’s no dull moment and there’s no disbelieving factor about this story, which is great. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that Troy constantly got hurt. I know it comes with the job, but did he always have to be the only one from the whole team to be constantly beat-up and cut-up (not to mention shot)? There’s only so much a guy can take and I felt like Troy was punished by the author for some unknown reason.

I’m so happy I chose to read this book, it really is a well written story! And…… FIREFIGHTERS!!!! I can’t wait for the next book!

Mikaal Sarhadi has been in trouble since the moment he met guitarist Declan Hyde. Declan treats music like religion, setting high standards for himself and his bandmates. Mikaal struggles to even step on stage. He will do anything to justify Declan’s belief in him—even if that means ignoring the powerful attraction between them.

After a chance meeting with Brandon, Declan’s estranged brother, reveals just how much Declan will sacrifice for his music, Mikaal wonders if he can even call himself a musician. Worse, drummer Hiro’s visa application has been denied. With time running out for The Charity Shop Rejects, Mikaal must conquer his stage fright or lose music—and Declan—entirely.

Spending an unexpected holiday break alone following his parents’ sudden death, thirty-something lawyer Zane Anders attends to unfinished business: getting his parents’ dilapidated Cape Cod cottage ready to sell and retrieving a mysterious Christmas present Zane’s mother left behind. But an acquaintance from the past interrupts his solitude at the beach. Christopher DeVries has morphed awfully fast from the awkward, infatuated teenager Zane remembers to a handsome college senior living next door. He’s still too young for Zane. Although he’s remarkably mature…and beguiling.

Deterred by their age difference, Zane hesitates to make the first move. But when a fierce Nor’easter closes highways and paralyzes the Cape, both Zane’s and Christopher’s Christmas plans are rewritten.

So what if winter isn’t beach weather?

Carmen is eleven years old and wants to get her dragon. Since she was seven years old, she understood two things. One, she was going to be the strongest Dragon Keeper there ever was. The second was that she was going to marry her best friend, Mattie.

As Christmas approaches the magical charms Carmen has to use to fight off her curse are taking a toll on her health. But that can’t stop her from taking her final test to become a Dragon Keeper. If she passes her test she gets her dragon, if not, she has to start all over, relying on different magical charms to fight the curse for her. That is something Carmen doesn’t want to have to go through. The testing is difficult and charms make her sick. Carmen has decided that if she doesn’t get her dragon this Christmas she’s not going to go for a third attempt, even if that means she can’t marry Mattie when she grows up.

The Raven Prince & Other Stories

Our Lady of the Axe: In a Regency England where magic used to be real, Eleanor, her dear friend Diana, and three young girls are kidnapped. It will take all of Eleanor’s strength and courage, plus a magical axe and cleavage (not that kind) to set them free, and foil the man behind the kidnapping.

Edging: Will a mistake about meaning make a mess for Tommy and Vince? Or maybe lead to something more?

The Plan That Didn’t Gang Aft Agley: Jack’s plans have a tendency to go way agley. He hopes his special plan for Billy at football practice is the one that won’t.

Family Be Damned: Look for the two Br’er Rabbit moments. One: She wasn’t unhappy Tommy got paid to take her to the eighth grade dance. She even slipped him $25 to agree. Two: Her mom made her older brother take her to the dance. The $50 she paid him was just a sisterly bonus.

The Raven Prince: Sixteen-year-old Mike hopes he can blend in at his new school. Except he’s short, slender, goth-looking with the shiny black hair, black eyes and thick lashes, wears an elegant suit and tie, and drives a Mercedes convertible. He’s also gay, a raven shifter in a human school and eventually he has to be the Raven Prince.

Standing up to the bullies who rule the school—Preacher’s Son, Banker’s Son, Sheriff’s Son, Principal’s Daughter—isn’t blending in. When the Four can’t get to Mike, they go after him through his best friend, Johnny, the devoutly straight wrestling star who doesn’t care about the gay thing.

If Johnny is hurt, will it take the Raven Prince to get justice? Raven justice?

100% of the author’s royalties will be donated to a local LGBT youth organization.
