Blurb: There’s something different about Noah….

Zack Parker met his best friend Noah at his lake cabin when they were only five years old. He realized he felt more than friendship for him by the time they were in junior high school. One fateful night when they were eighteen Zack couldn’t take it anymore. Fueled by love and lust and need, he finally kissed Noah like he’d wanted to for years…and Noah kissed him back, returning every drop of Zack’s passion.

The next morning, Noah ended their friendship for what Zack believed was forever.

Now twenty-one, Zack resents being dragged by his guilt-tripping mother every summer back to the lake cabin where every leaf and rock and turn in the road reminds him of Noah and the love he felt for him three long years before. He hates being reminded of what he lost and more than anything, he wants his best friend back.

But this year things are different.

Noah has returned, apologetic and more gorgeous than ever. Amazingly, he seems to want Zack as much as Zack wants him. He’s sweet and attentive, sexy enough to make Zack’s thighs quiver, but there’s something not quite right…

What secret is Noah hiding?

Review: I found this story to be a wonderful addition to my library. It was told with just the right amount of flare. In a time where the paranormal world was feared by many of the humans, a hunter and a human meet as children. Zack had loved Noah from the moment they realized what love was like and Noah felt the same. Noah separated them because of the danger he represented as hunter, but one year has passed and he couldn’t stop loving Zach. Even with the original secret Noah is holding, Zach still loves him. The new secret, the real reason Noah didn’t search him out was a little bit harder to believe.

At first reading it though, my attention wavered just a bit, but the further I got into the story the better it go. I thought the plot and story line were pretty good, although it could have used a little bit more action and not so much explanation. I am just not sure how exactly to explain it. However, being the first book of a series it was pretty good. To understand how they knew each other and how they felt in the beginning makes for an interesting start.

I liked the characters Zach and Noah. The spark that is between them makes me want to fan myself from their first kiss a year ago; to the passion, they have now. Zach’s pain made me just want to smack Noah, but after Noah explained the reason for leaving I fell a little bit in love with Noah. The sex between them is very steamy but tender. Their love is sweet but a little sappy.

Even the dangers present have a little bit of a twist to it. There is some confusion close to the ending of it about the actual ages of the character and I am feeling that the ending left me hanging. Which actually is very intriguing (not the confusion of ages, but the ending) because now I want to read the next book to see what will happen next.

Review:  Marlon sits in a chair by a grave reading a book to a dearly departed friend. The Dryad of the graveyard, a part tree part man spiritual being, stumbles across Marlon and is enthralled by the care in which he reads. The Dryad invites Marlon back to his house on the hill to stay with him for the night. The sex isn’t expected, but when the opportunity presents itself, neither man shy’s away.

This was the cutest m/m Halloween them story ever! It’s super short, but super sexy as Marlon and The Dryad get to know each other as best as they can with what little time they’ve been given. The ghosts in the background adding a little spark, so to speak, was the perfect complement to the story.

Like I said its super short, but if you are looking for a Halloween themed quick read that will leave you satisfied and smiling, grab a copy of this one!

Blurb: “A Life for Nicholas” details the life of a thirteen-year-old boy who is an orphan and living in the foster care system. He has to deal with adolescence, his sexuality, the loss of friends and abuse as he figures out his place in the world. This book is a novella of about 13,000 words and the prequel to “A Home for Christmas” by Matt Zachary.

Review: This short story follows Nickolas, a thirteen-year boy, as he journeys from foster home to foster home. Abuse physical and emotional follows him with little small parts of happiness so short Nick wonders if they are real at all. Facing down horrible after horrible event and trying to still stand strong Nickolas is almost the stereotypical kid you see on these young adult books.

Smart, good grades and a nice shy temperament Nicholas can’t seem to avoid people getting in his way trying to harm him for no apparent reason. His schools peers, his foster siblings, even his foster parent go a long way to make him miserable, and just as he thought he found some peace and normalcy his life gets shaken once again… I’d like to like this character but I didn’t have the chance to actually meet him, get a feel for him. Every event in this story was hastily narrated and lacking.

As much as this book had good premise, it failed to make me like it as it skimmed through hard and heavy subjects with a sense of irresponsibility and insensitivity. Everything Nick felt when experiencing abuse was systematically simply stated and the story moved along without allowing for the feel of them to make a full impact. I was shocked to see Nick narrating his abuses in a nonchalant way, detached, almost as if telling a tale and not events that had him scarred for life. The entire read was set in a very fast pace that allowed no time for thoughts or for feelings to settle, ending with a most superficial describing of a suicide as if it was a walk in the park.

In the end, this was a story that while it worked up your expectations it failed to meet them and left you wondering, “What was the point.”

Review: Nicholas could be the poster child for foster care. Ignored and abused both physically and mentally by his peers and foster parents throughout the book. He makes a couple of solid friends along the way, but both are ripped from his life in one way or another before the end. He’s actually slightly more normal than he has any right to be considering what he’s been through.

There was potential for a better story here than the one that is on the pages. Completely rushed, unmatched timelines and several inconsistencies left something to be desired here. Nicholas gets into a fight at school, okay wait… Nicholas is ganged up on at school by homophobic classmates and defends himself, only to be kicked out of his current foster home almost immediately due to his ‘bad’ behavior. Huh? Then he refers to the last home he’s in at the end of this book as ‘no different than any of the others’, when in fact it’s completely different. For once he is actually wanted and treated appropriately. Again, Huh?

I really wanted to like this book, Nicholas was such a diverse type of character. But sadly the inconsistencies in the story coupled with the urgency to get to the ending were off-putting and ruined it for me.

Blurb:   Evan Drake needs to be a role model to his younger brother Brandon, and although he’s a star on his high school basketball team, there’s more to him than meets the eye. He’s interested in many things, including drama and singing, and when he joins drama club, he meets Noah Sheridan, and he’s pretty interested in him, too. Noah is a super smart, cute but nerdy kid who has written a high school play about two gay students who attended Boyne City High twenty years ago, and who in real life, fell in love with each other. When the drama department elects to use the play for their high school musical, Noah urges Evan to audition for the lead role. Evan ultimately decides he wants to be in the play, but when he shows up to audition, it sends shockwaves throughout the school. His teammates are furious, and so is his best friend Bryan. As Evan and Noah grow closer, Bryan gets more traitorous, and it seems he wants nothing more than to see his former friend broken down.

Review:  Evan and Noah know each other from school, but they’ve never been friends per say. That all changes when Evan tries out for the lead in the school play. Noah has done his research and written a play based on the story of two former Boyne City High students and the prejudice they had to endure when they came out as gay. Noah would love for the object of his obsession to play the lead, Evan. But Evan is not so sure he wants to play the role of a gay jock.

The more time Evan spends with Noah he comes to realize he wants to be more than friends. When he’s pushed to the limits by his best friend and fellow teammate, Bryan, Evan comes out. What he hoped would be a positive affirmation is quickly turned into an all out witch-hunt by his supposed teammate. An ultimatum is issued. Evan can be in the school play and have Noah for his boyfriend, but he has to quit the basketball team.

Evan not only has to deal with the pressure of being a gay high school student, but he has to deal with bigots and a best friend that is now his worst enemy, and will stop at nothing to destroy him. When everything comes to a head, Evan will learn that the love of his family, friendship, and tolerance run deeper than he initially thought. And the bond he’s formed with Noah only strengthens his resolve and their love for another.

I have not read the other books in this series, but I didn’t feel like I was missing something by not having read them. I loved that Evan was an all around great guy from the start, even defending Noah before they became friends because it was right, and Bryan was wrong. Evan came out early on in the book so there was not any of that back and forth angst with that aspect of the story. In fact, there wasn’t much angst in this book at all. It was just a well-written, gay take on high school musical.

And the boys mothers, oh my god, hysterical! Noah has always known he was gay and his parents are very accepting. Evan only recently admitted he was gay not only to himself, but his friends and family. His mother and brother are less worried about his sexuality and more worried about the assholes at school trying to kick him off the basketball team for being true to himself. These were a couple of very passionate women and that passion was evident within the story.

What I loved most about this book was that for every negative, there was a positive. Erno dealt with some dark issues. Homophobia, bullying, and suicide by leveling that playing field with love, support, understanding, and compassion. There weren’t any naughty bits per say, but there was definitely some heavy petting. Evan and Noah were absolutely adorable! If you are a fan of Glee and High School Musical, I think you’ll really enjoy this book.

Although The Boxer Rebellion is about teenagers, the subject matter is frankly mature and the language used by the bullies utilizes crude colloquialisms.

Review: I want to start out saying this is some very tough subject matter to write and read.  Kudos to the author for having the gumption to tell this story. This subject is like a bad accident. You know what you see is going to be frightening, hard to take and perhaps life changing, but you have to look anyhow. Once I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. I literally read last night until the Kindle said battery was too low to charge and saw it was 3:30 am. I was devastated to not be able to finish.

A quick rundown. Nick moves to a new school. He is so happy. He is going to get to start new, no one knowing him here. He has new designer clothes, new gear and the first thing happens he sets off the weapons check with his new boots and a second time with his necklace.  He gets over that, then at his locker, he hears the voice of his tormentor from the old school and gets beat up. To make it worse, he fights back and the teacher sees him, not the bully and he gets suspended and labelled troublemaker on the first day. To make matters worse for him, Julian, his tormentor from the old school is living with his cousin, Brent who has his own demons. Brent finds himself looking too hard at boys, not really finding girls attractive and keeps telling himself he isn’t gay. When he sees Julian bullying the new boy, he steps in and eggs it on spreading it all over school and most of the school joins in.

There are lots of characters in this story, though it’s mostly about Nick. Penny, his one true friend, Julian the bully, Brent the in denial gay boy who bully’s to deflect the attention, and Angela the other new girl with a past of her own, that is overweight and trying to start new and gets in with Brent and Julian. All are featured and we get into their minds as well as Nick’s.

In addition, we get into the thoughts of Nick’s parents, a couple of teachers and the principle.

The story is dark and at times sad and tragic. I think we can all relate to each of these characters at one time or the other and the message is clear… we should join in or sit back and do nothing. My heart went out to both Nick and Penny and I’d love to strangle that principle.

I highly recommend this to everyone, both teens and adults. It should be a mandatory read in high school, for both students and teachers. If you like dark tragic stories with great messages this is a must.

Review: Lugh moves to a new town and finds out he is Magus (warlock). Had a cat for a familiar and learns more of his powers.

This is a sweet story about coming out and growing up. The familiars are cute and I like how they talk to the magus, I loved the introduction to the characters, there was a bit of mystery.  But, for me the book was very long-winded for a predictable story. The description is beautiful, we do learn a lot about Lugh, and the bond between him and his familiar is adorable. This a great young adult story, sweet, charming with a little mystery.

If you like witches, magic, mystery, cats or animals in general with a touch of romance this is for you.

Blurb: Sparks fly between virgin teenage demon hunters when the Chosen One turns out to be the Chosen . . . Two?

Apprentice warrior Blake St. Blake is the Chosen One, raised by an ancient order to defend the world against evil. Well, maybe not the whole world, but at least his neighborhood in downtown Detroit. When a dreaded reflux demon is sighted in a local cemetery, Blake is sent off to his very first battle, armed with his sword, his super-senses, his black leather duster, and a few well-rehearsed one-liners.

But another Chosen One gets in Blake’s way—an apprentice wizard named Shadow. While the boys argue about who’s the more chosen of the two, the demon escapes.

Blake wants to be angry, but it turns out he and Shadow have a lot in common. Besides, Shadow’s pretty cute, and Blake can’t help but think that the wizard’s skills (and hands and lips and other bits) might make the perfect complement to his. Blake and Shadow are brave enough to challenge the reflux demon in a second battle, but will they have the courage to tell each other how they feel?

Purchase Link: http://www.riptidepublishing.com/titles/few-are-chosen

Review: Blake is the Chosen One, blessed with extra strengths to fight the evil that invades his city. On his first ever mission to the cemetery on a recon he meets a reflux demon and another young man who claims he is the Chosen One and during their battle of words, the reflux demon slips away. Rather than be angry as the loss of his kill Blake discovers an attraction for the apprentice wizard, Shadow, and can’t help thinking that maybe having a partner wouldn’t be such a bad thing. But facing a reflux demon turns out to be not as scary as admitting their feelings for each other.

Oh, this was such a fun story, an absolute giggle-fest with every turn of the page. Blake is a fantastic character who tries so hard to be the warrior hero from fantasy stories but is slightly bumbling and accident prone, Shadow is a wonderful character who takes the more loose ‘boy from the hood’ attitude and is slightly more worldly. Put the two boys together and we get a fun filled story of slightly angsty teenagers who feel the first flares of attraction. Their quest to send the reflux demon back to hell is hilarious and you can’t help but squirm at times in sympathetic embarrassment that is tinged with glee.

While reading this story I couldn’t help but be delighted with the characters, I even felt a kinship to the reflux demon as he came across as a jolly fellow dealing with pesky children, being indulgent as they fumble through their attempts to vanquish him. The story flows well as we see two young men awkwardly approach their attraction to each other while awkwardly fighting evil. While we get to see everything from Blake’s perspective Shadow’s feelings still come through pretty well, leaving you in no doubt that they are both full of bravado, a touch of angst and a mutual attraction.

I have to recommend this to those who love young adult urban fantasy/paranormal, lots of humor and laughs, sweet blossoming first love and a very fulfilling story.

Review: Michael hasn’t ever really had to worry about anything in his life, he’s the captain of the track team, his best friend always has his back, and his parents are wonderful. The only thing he secretly yearns for is a boyfriend to complete his happy world, but with only his best friend and parents knowing he is gay, he doesn’t think he will be finding a boyfriend any time soon. That is until he bumps into Christy, the silent pretty young man that he develops a crush on. Christy has been through hell for most of his life, slowly healing he makes a new life for himself far from Greece and he begins to yearn for friendship and love. When Christy meets Michael, he has hope that he can find love with him, but with a homophobic jock, causing problems and a man from Christy’s past determined to reclaim Christy they both face together and can only hope that their determination and newfound love can overcome the danger they face.

This is a wonderful young adult story that will make your heart bleed for the young couple as they try to find love and peace. Michael seems to have a blessed life, but he isn’t blind to what could happen if he comes out at school. He has a wonderful support system with his parents and best friend Jake, who is there for him when needed and encourage him when he begins to feel down. Christy is a young man whose life has been hell, nobody could help him until it was nearly too late and he now has much healing to do. Christy has a long journey ahead of him as he comes to terms with what happened to him and he begins to reclaim his life with the help of his new boyfriend Michael.

This is a very touching story that has a surprising amount of danger and action for the young adults of the story. Michael and Christy make a wonderful couple even with the trauma that Christy still has to overcome, but Michael proves himself the perfect person to help Christy have a normal life. Christy may be damaged and wary but he is an incredibly strong character, Michael may not know everything that has happened but he is a very surprising astute young man, Jake is an incredible best friend and the assortment of other characters we meet make this story just brilliant. Watching as the characters pull together in the face of scorn and danger was wonderful, as each of them added that something special to the storyline.

While I would love to dissect this story pointing out everything that makes it incredible I can’t, it would take too long as there were so many things that made me unable to put this story down. While some of the story was a bit hard to swallow, like the police and bodyguards seeming incompetence and the convenient way nobody could ever find Yosef or Jason, there was some incredible understanding of the effects of abuse and how it affects those around the victims.

I recommend this to those who love young adults overcoming abuse, danger and scorn, friends and family pulling together, rescues, fear, anger and finding love.

Review: Flashes of memories cause him severe panic attacks, attacks he sometimes wonders if he’ll forever be bound to suffer. He is scared that one day he will fall into the nightmare, a memory of the attack, and be stuck within his own dark mind forever. He remembers the debate team meeting with his best friend Juliette and the life altering events that took place after. The men, the van, the garage, the violation, the knife at his throat, his best friend screaming and begging them to stop. He often wonders why he couldn’t just die that night and be done with the hell he lives in daily.

Aaron Downing is a mere shell of a human being. He is withdrawn, anti social and suffers from debilitating panic attacks. His family has supported him through everything these past two years since that fateful night, but he finds himself wondering how much longer they’ll put up with what he’s become. He puts his feet underneath him and decides to enroll in college, he wants desperately to be able to take care of himself and learn to deal with his issues, to have a life.

Spencer Thomas was born premature, his poor young life began wrapped in another random act of violence, not much different from the one Aaron suffered. His mother was attacked and shot, left for dead, but miracle of miracles, unborn Spencer survived. There was a price to pay though, his mother’s life and his hearing. He’s been picked on a ridiculed his entire young life for being different, for being deaf. He though he’d found a man to love until his then boyfriend started referring to him as “my deaf boyfriend”, well, so much for that! Then one day he runs into Aaron, literally.

The two become fast friends and develop a bond based on trust, that grows into love. Once Aaron lets his guard down and lets Spencer in, he’s surprised how much he likes him and wants to be with him. Spencer has liked Aaron since the day they met, but he gives him his space and the time Aaron needs to decide where he wants to go with the relationship. Aaron makes unbelievable progress with his panic attacks and triggers with Spencer’s dad, but when his parents learn about this new therapy, they are less than pleased. Now that boy that lived in constant fear, being set off by the sound of a car door shutting or a simple touch will have to convince his parents that this is what he wants. What he needs to get better.

This book starts out terribly sad, but as the story progresses it becomes something truly beautiful. Aaron and Spencer have suffered more loss and misery in their young lives than most grown people ever will. But together they find solace, happiness, and love. It didn’t come as a surprise to me that the first person Aaron allows to touch him without going into a full-blown attack is Spencer.

Spencer tells Aaron, “I don’t even see your scars anymore, I only see you.” And he touches him then kisses him and it’s perfect! Aaron could care less that Spencer is deaf. All he sees is the kind, patient, and determined young man who has stood by him even during an attack. It’s also absolutely fanfuckingtastic that when the time comes for Aaron to tell Spencer how he feels, he uses sign language.

I’ve been a fan of Mayfield since his since his ‘Waiting for Forever’ series, and I loved this new book just as much. Yes it’s a difficult read and covers some very troubling subjects. At times Aaron is in such a dark place, you will find yourself almost hyperventilating, wondering if this will be the time, he doesn’t come back. Oh but when he and Spencer find each other and they begin to heal its mesmerizing. If you like books that are deeply rooted in reality with hard-core subject matter, excellent writing, and extremely supportive secondary characters, I think you’ll love this book. No naughty bits really, this is a YA book. But there is a HEA!! I warn you though, make sure you have a snack a beverage and some Kleenex at the ready; you won’t be able to stop once you’ve started!

Blurb: It seemed like a good idea at the time…

Every summer three families take a trip together—this year it’s to a remote resort in the mountains of upstate New York. Scotty, a teenager who’s just come out, is nervous about how his friends will react to him. A late night visit to an old nearby cemetery seems like a great idea to the bored teens, but the old cemetery holds dark secrets hidden for almost a century—secrets that might have been better left undisturbed.

And what originally seemed like a boring week in the mountains gradually becomes a nightmare of terror for the teens and their families…

Review: Scotty and his family are heading to a remote resort for the annual holiday with two other families, a tradition that has happened every year since the adults were in college. This year Scotty came out to his friends via e-mail and he doesn’t know how they will react. During a late night visit to an old cemetery something happens, and Scotty and his friends find themselves unraveling a secret that has been hidden for nearly a century.

This is a wonderful young adult story that has that great touch of horror and paranormal. Scotty has recently come out and he has a boyfriend, Marc, but right now he has to face his friends that he only sees once a year during the joint vacation and he is nervous about their reaction. When the friends, Carson, Lynda, Logan, Teresa and Scotty start to explore they all get more than they bargained for when their ghost hunting leads to an old mystery. Scotty seems to be directly affected and there is a connection to his boyfriend Marc, each of them discovers that they can’t just explain away what is happening and that they have to come up with a plan to get to the bottom of the mystery.

I loved this story, it was just the right mix of angsting teenagers and paranormal with a touch of mystery thrown in. Scotty is a typical teenager and that reflects throughout the book, especially when he becomes distracted with thoughts of his boyfriend or angsting over what his friends will think of him being gay. When the guys all start on the hunt for paranormal activity it becomes nicely creepy, but it is Scotty that connects to the ghosts of long past. Is it because he is gay or is there another reason? Although we never meet Marc we get a lot of information about him and his situation, and Scotty discovers that he has to do something to stop the past from repeating itself.

I recommend this to those who love young adult that are spooky and slightly scary, with an absent romantic interest, a mystery to solve and a great ending.

Blurb:   Mercutio is a funny, moody, complex foil for Romeo in Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, but in the four stories presented here, each an independent tale, Mercutio’s love for his friend goes far deeper, always somehow entwined with the fates of Romeo and Juliet.

The first tale sets the trio back in Renaissance Verona, where Mercutio vies for Romeo’s love. Romeo is oblivious, but the love triangle has deadly consequences. Next, we find Romeo and Mercutio in Victorian England. Though Romeo knows Mercutio loves him and returns his passion, he struggles to fit his desires into the strict mores of the day. The third story takes us to post-WWII America, where war-weary Romeo, Juliet, and Mercutio long for the right to love whom they choose. The final story in the collection brings the three characters into contemporary times, a band on a road trip that will change their lives forever

Review:  Four acts bound into one novella all spurned from the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet with a slight gay twist.

We begin at the start as the original story of these two young lovers is reinvented with a gay undertone. There is still the agony of love, betrayal and death as the array of young men fall on each other’s swords, and not the sexy kind of sword, the literal sword, unfortunately.

Each tale is just a little different and more advanced, or modern, than its predecessor but always, Mercutio is in love with his friend, and Romeo and Juliet could still screw up a wet dream. From Verona to England through WWII and finally closer to the present day, the one constant is that Mercutio has to fight for the right to love who he chooses. The majority of the time, it has devastating consequences.

I’m going to give this one an E for effort. I was never a huge Shakespeare fan aside from the version with Leo, but I did like the way Rowan was able to take the classic tale and spin it into a gay YA story. This one is YA all the way, so there are no naughty bits, but surprisingly, there is no angst either. That gains bonus points from me! If you are a fan of Shakespeare then you need to give this one a go, it might just surprise you.

Blurb:   Born with a birth defect called Devil Syndrome, it is impossible for Josh Harper to hide the two small stumps of hornlike bone atop his head. If people also knew about his ability to create force fields with his mind, they’d lock him up for sure. Left to fend for himself on his eighteenth birthday, Josh tries to make it on the streets. When he’s attacked, he’s rescued by Sam Mitchell, who has an equally strange power—and a set of pure white wings.

Sam ran away from home a year ago, and the new life he’s built for himself includes living in an abandoned house and looking after three younger kids, all with Devil Syndrome. Then along comes Josh. After a rough start, their relationship grows and the two young men find a haven in each other’s arms. But when tragedy strikes their newfound family, Sam’s hatred of regular humans spirals out of control, and Josh will have to make Sam see sense before everything he’s worked so hard to build is destroyed.

Review: Josh and Sam share a rare birth defect that sets them apart from almost everyone else. ‘Devil Syndrome’ as its known is presents itself in the form of two small stumps on the forehead, sort of like horns. Side effects may include wings, the ability to create force fields and sometimes manipulate energy. Soon enough, Josh and Sam will share much more than ‘being born this way’.

Josh was handed off to his drunk, abusive uncle and aunt five years ago when his mom died of cancer. Now on his eighteenth birthday, after years of verbal, mental, and physical abuse he is handed fifty dollars and shown the door. His first night on the streets he encounters a couple of mean homeless bums that intend to rob him of what few possessions he has. He’s rescued by a young man with crackling, electric blue energy in his hands and blinding white wings.

Sam ran away from home after his mother died as well, feeling his father didn’t love him and was pulling away. He wound up in an abandoned house with three children that all share the same birth defect that he has. He protects shelters and feeds these kids keeping them as safe as he can from the hatred of the outside world. He finds Josh in the alley about to be mugged and saves him, bringing him back to their sanctuary. The two share more than a common bond of their syndrome; their attraction is immediate and mutual. But Josh fights it at first, completely thrown by the foreign urges to touch and kiss his avenging angel.

This motley crew sets up a home of sorts with petty crimes, robbery, and an occasional sleight of hand feeding and keeping them alive. And though they don’t all always agree on the execution, they realize it’s the only way to survive at the end of the day. When a bully that has always been a thorn in Josh’s side confronts Sam, after Sam humiliated him for picking on Josh, the results are deadly. In the aftermath, Sam pulls away not just from Josh, but also from everyone. With the help of an unlikely ally, can Josh convince Sam that he loves him and convince him they deserve to be happy? Before Sam does something that will put everyone with their syndrome in jeopardy.

I loved this story and the play on words with ‘devils syndrome’ when these kids are anything but evil. They are forced to make, sometimes bad, decisions by a society that has shunned them in order to survive. Both characters grow tremendously throughout the story as individuals, but ultimately it’s their connection to each other that saves them in the end. Not a lot of positive gay YA books out there, this one definitely hit the mark!

Review:  Treasure of a Thousand Worlds is a young fantasy novel by Shannon Rouchelle. It is the first book published under of the Dalton Twin Mysteries Series. The story stars Daniel Dalton and his twin brother Ben Dalton. After the sudden death of their mother, who was a single parent, the Dalton Twins find themselves inside a new world full of mysteries and adventure.

I liked this novel. I felt so sorry for Daniel and Ben. They lost their mom and had to move in with Miss Roth, a crazy old lady. I love the relationship between the teens and their struggles to build their life after their mom died and the mystery quest that followed it. But, sadly, that’s about it.

What I didn’t like about this novel was the fact that it didn’t contain any M/M Romance. Both of the main characters were straight. Another thing that was a huge turned off was the fact that this novel was just too short. It also seemed to be too fast-paced. One second they are here and the next, they are there. This novel would be much better if it was longer and even slow-paced.

What I really loved about this novel, was the plot. It was very solid, cool, fresh, and new. I love YA Fantasy novels with amazing little twists. Yes, this was too fast-paced for me and it didn’t contain a M/M Romance, but there’s no denying that author is very talented and really good.

I recommend this novel to anyone who loves short YA Fantasy novels, pirates, a good mystery, adventure, and a solid coming of age plot.

Review:  Tuckersburg by Raven de Hart is very short novel staring Alex and Skyler. Now, these two met during the big barbecue that their town held every year. But, that was enough to let this two start and ignite.

I liked Alex and Skyler. Alex seemed like a very shy and nerdy guy while Skyler seemed very cool and down to earth. The one thing I didn’t like about this little novel was the fact that it was just too short. It almost seemed like a lost chapter of a longer one. I think that the author would benefit greatly by turning this into a full-length one.

I recommend this one to anyone who loves short YA novels with steamy hot sex or to anyone looking for a very short and enjoyable read.

When I thought things couldn’t get much worse, Erik suddenly appeared before me, just like an angel. Is this a dream or are the drugs making me hallucinate? What is he running from? Why won’t he tell me about his past? Can I trust him?

Review:  I have to admit something. I loved this novel! The Touch of Hope stars Jonathan. Now, Jonathan ran away from home and has been living in the streets. One day, he bumps into Erik and that’s where the story takes off.

I loved Jonathan and understood why he had to run away from home. His dad was an asshole and his mom lived in another world. All I wanted was to hug and protect him. I loved Erik. He was strong and a complete survivor. The one thing that turned me off was the fact that this novel was just too short. I wanted more! I really hope that the author continues with this story or expands it into a full-length one. The characters were just too good and lovable.

I recommend this little short to anyone who wants to read about the sad reality that millions of homeless teens around the world have to go through every day. Trust me, it will touch your soul and leave you wanting more.

Review:  I loved this short novel! It was a really short and sweet. Fireflies and Crickets star Kennedy. Now, Kennedy is very shy and tiny guy trying his best to survive high school. After he comes out to his parents as gay guy, they kick him out and send him to live with his Aunt Holly. Kennedy is devastated, but after meeting Evan, his entire life changes.

I loved Kennedy! He was shy, sweet, and caring just like Aunt Holly. I hated Kennedy’s parents. Those two bigot bastards kicked him out for being himself. I’m glad that Kennedy stayed with his aunt because those two did not deserve a son like him. To me Evan was amazing! I absolutely loved him. He was always there for Kennedy, to love and protect. I was also glad to see Drew in this novel. He was the star of another short novel by the same author. I’m so glad that the author linked the two short stories because they went perfectly together.

Overall, this was an amazing little read. If you’re looking for a short, but gooey love novel about life, family, and friendship, this one is the one for you.

Review:  I absolutely loved is novel! Last Of the Summer Tomatoes stars Kyle. Now, Kyle is a very troublesome kid who had a very hard life. His stepfather abuses him and his mom does nothing to stop him. After getting in trouble with the law again, he’s place under a new work release program in order to avoid jail time. Kyle, being a smart guy, agrees and he is sent to work at a farm. It is there where he meets Glenda, Walt and their son, Sam.

I loved Kyle! There were several times where I simply wanted to hug him and shelter him from everyone. His stepfather, Hank, was a complete homophobic asshole! I hated him almost immediately. I loved Glenda and Walt. They were the perfect parents and instantly accepted Kyle as their own. However, to me, Sam was the bomb! Everything he did was to make sure that Kyle felt good, happy, and comfortable. There were times where I wanted to choke Kyle. He simply founded hard to let loose and love life with Sam, but I knew the reasons why. Hank did a number on him and I’m glad that at the end, he finally saw the light and let loose.

All in all, this was a great and entertaining read. I recommend this novel to anyone who is looking to read something with a lot of heart, family love, friendship, and genuine love.

Review:  Wow! I loved this book. The Straight Road To Kylie stars Jonathan Parish. Now, Jonathan is an out and proud senior at Winter Park High. What is his obsession? The amazing and incredibly beautiful Kylie Minogue. And trust me; he would do anything to meet her, even turned straight.

I loved Jonathan Parish. His obsession for Kylie reminded me so much of my obsession for Nelly Furtado. It’s just so cute and funny! Kylie means the world to him like Nelly means the world to me. I loved Jonathan’s friends. They seemed so cool and down to earth. Yes, they had their little flaws, but everyone does. I really liked Laura. Some readers won’t like her, but I fell for her. She was a really cool bitch.

All in all, I loved this novel. The plot was solid, the characters seemed real, and the Kylie Minogue references reminded me so much of her music. I love her! She may not be my favorite artist of all time, but her music is fun and I must agree with the author. It is so sad that Kylie’s music has not reach every single soul on earth. She is just fantastic.

I recommend this novel to all the Kylie fans out there and to any who wants to read something new and fresh. Trust me; you won’t get this book out of your head.

Review:  I have mix feelings about this one. Breaking Out stars Justin and Niall. Now, Justin lost his mom to cancer leaving him behind in the care of his dad, Peter, and older brother, Dan. At school, he meets Niall that comes from a very Catholic background. There is an instant connection between and they soon become one.

I liked the two main characters. The writing was really good and the story was solid. The one thing that totally blew me off was the giant gaps in the story. We only get to see what happens later on because the main characters remembered it or retold it. Another thing that I hated was the fact that we don’t really get to see what happened to Niall’s parents. Did they accept him? Did they completely walk out of their child’s life? I suspect that they did, but still, that to me was left unanswered.

I recommend this novel to anyone who wants to read a unique, sweet, and coming of age young novel with a very happily ever after.
