Blurb: An Enemies to Lovers
Shifter, Vampire True Mates story.

Justice Volkov is the youngest Alpha Zenith to ever lead the wolf shifters. Following in his father’s large paw prints was a responsibility he met head on. Now at age thirty-three, he is alpha of the alphas. As a direct descendant of the original Siberian pack, his wolf is bigger and stronger than Justice, himself is sometimes able to control.

His wolf howled long and hard but Justice kept it inside. It felt like a bass drum beating against his rib cage. The harsh breaths, angry snarls and the determined pacing inside him was overtaking him.

Justice takes his role of leadership and his legacy very seriously. He has little time for romance, not to mention a true mate. His packs are his priority. With a human government trying to regulate them, an uprising of rogue shifters, and a violent team of scientists trying to experiment on them, Justice has his hands way too full.

Chadwick ‘Wick’ Bentley is not enthusiastic when the captain of his escort tells him he has to leave his comfortable London home and go back to the States. As the Vampire King, he has no choice but to get his species back in line before they cause anymore chaos. At over one-hundred years old, Wick is no one to trifle with, but his smooth, charismatic manner makes him quite unique, despite the negative reputation vampires have. Wick has had nothing but time up to this point. He doesn’t feel the need to make issues pressing. Nothing is urgent in his life. Until he meets Justice. His beloved.

“Natural enemies can’t be mates.” Or so Justice thought. He knows his skepticism and rejection is hurting his mate, so while he fights their connection, Wick gets help from a source very close to Justice to help him win his beloved’s heart. Wick is a force all on his own, but when he’s blessed with a special gift from the Mother herself, not even Justice’s powerful wolf can prevent the prophesy from being fulfilled.

This story DOES NOT contain/mention MPREG.
No multiple pairings. No cliffhangers. It ends with a very HFN.

Warning: This book is MM paranormal: If you DO NOT like hot, alpha men shifting into large wolves, or vampires feeding from their mates, this may not be your read..

Review: This is a slightly different type of series by this author but it is no less than her previous series. I love paranormal stories as a whole but was blown away by the story and characters throughout this book. I loved that Justice was a fair yet stern Alpha that pulled no punches when it came to his mate. Chadwick was in his own right fair and stern yet compassionate.

These two took their sweet time coming together but it was oh so worth the wait. Chadwick’s secret was an added element of mystery that I enjoyed. Though things are tense between the two men they come together to defeat the evil that is being forced into their groups as well as the humans and their laws.

I am excited for the coming books in this series. Though there was hardly any action in this story it worked out well. The main focus is on the relationship and the true mates bond. I hope to read more about these two men in future books how they deal with dangerous situations when they come about.

Fantastic beginning to an awesome story.

Highly recommended.

Review: Each book in the Single Father’s Society collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Bobby and his two kids move back to his home town. After a disaster of a relationship goes downhill he decides he wants more for his family. He decides to open up his own accounting business and to be closer to his parents. He just wasn’t sure about starting over with a new guy in his life. That is until he catches his eye on one sexy runner named Remy.

Remy is a sweet journalist who has about the same bad taste as Bobby. However he wasn’t into sports and didn’t really want kids. Then he sees Remy and realizes that might just change. To make matters a bit hard, the coalition is still causing trouble for them all. They must stand together to prove that well you are just going to have to read the book.

The chemistry between these two guys is off the charts, but there are some challenges that these guys and most the others have to get through. Remy is definitely low on self-esteem and he pushes his issues into focus, but Bobby seems to have something similar to go through. His two kids are amazing.

Now the story is slow paced, but the romance is the opposite. It is moving right ahead even if there are a few road bumps to go around. Now not having read the rest of the books in quite awhile, this story just didn’t seem to really need them to connect with the characters. It brings the others into it, but in truth the story could stand alone. There are a lot of good lessons that this story comes with.

Now for the bad news, this story really is similar to the others in the story itself. The only change is characters and such. They hop in to bed, so to speak and then all of a sudden they are a couple. The kids, as great as they are, just seem to be moving just as fast as they are. However the author has made the story turn out pretty good. It just the pace of the story itself and the pace of the characters is a bit strange. It did take awhile to actually get into the story and it didn’t keep my attention like it should have. Parts seemed to just be thrown into it but overall it is still an enjoyable story to read.

I would definitely recommend it and the previous books.

Review: This book was previously published at 20,000 words as part of Siren’s anthology Ride a Cowboy. It has been extensively revised and expanded an additional 16,000 plus words.

When I saw this and started reading this, I knew I had read it before. I hate to admit that I was thinking of a different author when I read it. Then I remembered why, the character Papa Bear is actually from Bear County series written by Lynn Hagen. Then I remembered the anthology that was written. Stormy has been one of my top favorite from the start of her series. Her characters are fully developed and a bit quirky. They are easy to fall in love with and always leave you wanting more.

Papa Bear is exactly that a bear shifter. He is the leader of a deadly and dangerous biker gang. Unlike real bears they have no desire to hibernate in the winter, but travel around. That is until he goes off on his own, and finds his mate. A mate that is in danger.

Bug is from a pack that is against many changes, and one of them is gay men. His father wanted to mate him to a female alpha and damn if the man won’t take no for an answer. Bug knew he had to leave now. Too bad his pack caught up with him and it left him bleeding. Now his mate has found him, rescued him and deserted him. Things are not what one would think.

It is a very enjoyable story, and a lot of fun to read. I have to admit that it is a bit smaller than I had expected and the story is just a bit off. However it doesn’t take away from the story itself. I can see reading it more than once will be in my future.

This is one story I would recommend.

Kitt, who has been overlooked all his life, suddenly finds himself the center of attention, which is a place he has no desire to be. Scared and unsure, he has no idea what he’s about to face and looks to cling to something… anything to help him come to terms with his new role as the Summoner. What surprises him most is finding a kindred spirit in one of the most powerful men who exists. Someone who truly sees him, understands him, and can help him.

Surrounded by love and a new sense of family and kinship, he becomes who he was always meant to be.

Sasha can’t believe he has found someone who can look past everything he is— his power, his age, his status— and see the real him, the part that he’s hidden from everyone for so long. Being one of the Powers That Be has kept him apart from the world, becoming isolated from both man and his fellow Powers as he straddles the two parts of his life.

With the coming together of heroes and the formation of rare bonds, Dragonis is getting closer than ever. Prophecies abound and the fear of what they predict lies like a heavy cloak on the kingdom. As more dragons seek out our heroes, they realize fate, the universe, and some mystical power must be guiding them.

As the past blends with the present to shape the future, failure isn’t an option.

Dragonis must rise if the dragons are to have a home.

The Summoner holds the key to everything, but does he have the strength to succeed and still hold on to the man that he loves?

Review: There is a lot going on this book. At times I felt it was too much. But I still loved it never the less. Sasha and Kit along with their family and friends journey through twists and turns, suspense, mystery, fantasy and love.

What a ride it was. There are a wide variety of characters that add different elements throughout the story. I was impressed with how the book seemed to jump off the pages as the story progressed.

I am sad that this is the last in the series but in no way was I disappointed with the outcome.

Great read.

Review: I have never read any stories by this author and I will admit that when I first started reading it, I had my misgivings about it. However the further I got into the story, lets just say I was quite shocked and very pleased.

Many years ago technology was something well known and used. That is until the gods destroyed it and killed most of those who used it. Prome finds an amulet in some ruins of old and ancient city. He just thought it was a cute trinket, but it leads him and his friends on a mighty chase.

I had trouble with the first parts of the story and the characters and was about to give up reading it. It wasn’t until I got into the middle of the book that things to a turn. I will also admit that I was thinking it was going to be Prome and Malia, which doesn’t sit with me. So when our sexy little Garbos comes into the picture, you can see the heat flowing. It takes Prome time to decided that he likes Garbos more then he did Malia, well for love anyway. His attitude towards Garbos though, had me wishing Prome would get dumped on his head. It took me some time to figure it out though. Although for a moment there, I was wondering about Pyrias. Could have made a sweet third, but the author made this story just work.

Like I said above it did take some time to get into the story but I was pleased with the ending. It also seemed like the author hinted at maybe a second book would be possible. In that case I am ready to read it. I had a lot of fun with this story and might be checking this author out a bit more in the future.

Promises Part 4

(The Bounty Hunters 04)
by

A.E. Via

Men found him attractive, interesting even. He was like a fascinating experiment gone wrong that men liked to investigate. He’d get a date – or two, if he was lucky – but it wasn’t long before Brian’s darkness showed, and the men were running from him.

Brian King was honorably discharged from the United States Navy five years ago. He’d left with the highest honors a man can receive in his country, but he’d paid the ultimate price to earn them. He was considered one of the best; an Intelligence Officer in a Joint Special Operations Delta team that’d been a twelve-man wrecking crew. They’d thought they were invincible… until they weren’t. Brian was the only member that survived the ambush. He survived ten months of pain, of torture, only to emerge on the other side a warrior. A POW survivor. He’d returned home with all his limbs, his right mind, and with his only brother Ford, at his side. But, one thing had been lost, maybe for good… his voice.

Now, being a bounty hunter is Brian’s only means to satisfy his need to calculate, track, and capture. His only outlet to the stress caused by his silence. He was good at what he did. But, all work and no play for a forty-four year old man was taking its toll. Brian wasn’t a faulty experiment. He missed companionship, he missed communicating. So, when he met Sway Hamilton – in the most unconventional means – he’d been surprised at his special way of understanding Brian’s every look… and touch.

Sway grew up in the rough part of ATL, trailing behind his twin brother Stanton and his best friend, Dana. He and his brother had a bond only twins could understand. So when Stanton’s life was taken during their sophomore year in college, Sway didn’t think he’d ever recover. He finally finished school, got his masters in nursing, worked hard, and focused on taking care of his mother. However, Sway knew there was more to life than heartache, and caring for others. There had to be. But he didn’t know what any of those things were until he met a dark hunter that blew his mind… and the intense man had never uttered a single word.

Brian and Sway can feel the powerful connection between them. It was there from the start—but both of them have battled with loss and anguish for so long, neither understand that love can ease all of it. Do they have the courage to battle through it together? Sway has to learn to trust in love, and Brian has to believe that Sway will always understand him even if he never speaks again.

Sway held him tight around his neck, “I don’t need you to talk, Brian. I can hear you just fine,” Sway whispered softly, kissing his throat.

This novel is a part of a series but can be read as a standalone. No cliffhangers.

Trigger Warning: This story contains acts of bond recovery agent violence. Mention of war zones and descriptions of war prisoners. This story DOES NOT contain overly-described acts of torture.

After attending a friend’s wedding in New York, James Thompson is eager to go home, even though no one will be waiting for him at the gate. He has no expectations for his trip back to Charleston other than long lines, security, and bad airplane food. But when an annoying—albeit hot—stranger cuts him in line, James is determined not to be a pushover for once.

For Mika “It’s Mee-kuh, not Micah” Bailey, today’s just another day of boring work travel. That is, until his flight gets delayed, and some irritating (but handsome) guy keeps hogging all the good power outlets. Which means war. In the middle of an airport. In New York. What could go wrong?

Eventually, they declare a truce, and as they get to know each other, their attraction overwhelms them both. Terrified of what he’s feeling, Mika suggests a no-strings hookup, but serial-monogamist James wants more. (The Rowan Harbor Cycle 03)
by

Sam Burns

Fletcher Lane wants to protect people. It was why he became a deputy. A month ago, it was why he killed a vampire who kidnapped one of his friends. Now, that death has started a cascade effect that’s tearing his life apart, leaving him possessed by magic that whispers to him in ancient Gothic.

While he’s already fighting for control of his own mind, he has to hold it together when strangers come into town looking for the dead vampire. They say they’re bounty hunters, but Fletcher knows that’s a lie. They’re the same kind of murderers who killed Fletcher’s mother. When one of them puts up a kind front, Fletcher knows that people who hunt the supernatural can’t be trusted. However nice Conner Mason seems, the worst thing Fletcher could do is fall for his act.

This is the third of nine books in The Rowan Harbor Cycle, not a standalone. It continues where the second book left off. Fletcher and Conner will return in book six to continue their story, so this book contains a HFN, not their HEA.

Review: I love Andrew Grey’s Art series, so I was very much looking forward to the audio of this book. In fact, I think the first book in this series was one of the first Andrew Grey books I read after starting on his Love Means… series. I think I always say this, but I love how Andrew Grey takes ordinary guys – guys that are so relatable and spin a completely relatable and interesting story. There is no insta-love, the characters go through their struggles, in fact I love how we get to see the characters develop and actually get to know each other before thinking, “there might be something here”.
Legal Tender is the fourth book in Grey’s series and while you don’t need to be familiar with the three previous books, I recommend it because there is some overlap with the plot lines and there is also a pleasing appearance of some of our previous heroes. In fact, of the 3 previous books in the series, it is really books 1 and 2 which are most relevant.

Legal Tender follows shy guy Timothy and lawyer Joiner Carver. Timothy has not had the best life and upbringing. His mother is a drug addict, though she had not always been but her habit led to some major damage to Timothy’s psyche after he suffered a horrible trauma. The only love he had known in his life was from his grandfather, Tim called him Grampy, and his best friend as a child, Dieter (that’s right, that’s Dieter from book 1!). Part of Grampy’s legacy were some priceless coins, including a coin that could be confiscated by the US Government if Timothy ever reported that he possessed the object. It’s through Dieter and Dieter’s lawyer husband Gerald, that Timothy meets Joiner and Joiner is immediately on the case to help Timothy keep his grandfather’s legacy. Joiner is an ambitious lawyer, I think that has to be a given, but he is also sweet to a fault and has some fairly rigid morals.

There is an instant attraction between Joiner and Timothy, but Joiner is an honorable lawyer (shock horror, lol) and will not let anything risk his case, yet at the same time he will do anything for Timothy. I love how the plot forms and how Andrew Grey weaved together the threads to make a coherent case for Timothy’s legacy, as well as giving us a lot of sweet romance.

This story can be best described as a legal mystery story with a good dose of romance and sexy thrown in. John Solo is also one of my favorite audio narrators, so this audio was pure joy to read with the wonderful tone that Solo brings to the characters and to the story.

Artistic Pursuits is the third book in Grey’s series and while you don’t need to be familiar with the two previous books, I recommend it because there is some overlap with the plot lines and there is also a pleasing appearance of some of our previous heroes.

Artistic Pursuits follows FBI agent who is out to prove himself, Frank Jennings, and English Interpol agent Leslie Carlton.

This is an action, mystery type of story with a good dose of romance and sexy thrown in. John Solo is also one of my favorite audio narrators, so this audio was pure joy to read with the wonderful tone that Solo brings to the characters and to the story.

Blurb: How do you save a drowning man when that drowning man is you?

Jake Moore’s world fits too tightly around him. Every penny he makes as a welder goes to care for his dying father, an abusive, controlling man who’s the only family Jake has left. Because of a promise to his dead mother, Jake resists his desire for other men, but it leaves him consumed by darkness.

It takes all of Dallas Yates’s imagination to see the possibilities in the fatigued Art Deco building on the WeHo’s outskirts, but what seals the deal is a shy smile from the handsome metal worker across the street. Their friendship deepens while Dallas peels back the hardened layers strangling Jake’s soul. It’s easy to love the artistic, sweet man hidden behind Jake’s shattered exterior, but Dallas knows Jake needs to first learn to love himself.

When Jake’s world crumbles, he reaches for Dallas, the man he’s learned to lean on. It’s only a matter of time before he’s left to drift in a life he never wanted to lead and while he wants more, Jake’s past haunts him, making him doubt he’s worth the love Dallas is so desperate to give him.

Review: Jake has had one hell of a life. His mother was always going on about his being gay, that is until she died. And his father was an abusive man who should have been put down a long time ago. Now Jake is one hell of a sweet guy who is looking after that jerk and pretty much gives up his life to the man. His father is dying and he was doing what he could to keep a promise to his mother. What a twisted family.

Dallas wants to open the best club ever. So what does he do, he buys an old building in the worst part of town. A building with a dead body in it. He meeds Jake and starts a friendship with the young man. A young man who is drowning in pain and guilt.

The attraction and chemistry from these two guys is off the charts. However Jake is in no condition for any of it. He is letting his past lead his future. Now the story was well written and you will need tissues to get through it. Now for me, I just couldn’t really get into it. I just could not connected with the story at all. The writing was exceptional, but it was also missing something. It was a bit dull and boring to me.

There was some good parts to the story, but I hate to admit it, the bad parts showed out more. I could’t get my mind to concentrate on the story at all, and will admit that I ended up skimming through parts of it. The only two good parts is when the old man croaked, and the guys got their happily ever after. To bad it just didn’t do anything for me though. I am sorry but this was not my kind of book.

Blurb: ‘Old actors never die’ shouldn’t be literally true.

Carrington Loveless III, skim-blood vampire and senior officer of Philly’s paranormal police department, has long suspected that someone’s targeting his squad. The increasingly bizarre and dangerous entities invading their city can’t be a coincidence. So when a walking corpse spouting Oscar Wilde attacks one of his officers, Carrington’s determined to uncover the evil mind behind it all.

As a rare books librarian, Erasmus Graham thought he understood some of the stranger things in life. Sharing a life with Carrington has shown him he didn’t know the half of it. They’ve survived attack books and deadly dust bunnies together and got through mostly unscathed. Now his world and his vampire’s appear ready to collide again. Books are missing from the Rare Book collection—old tomes of magic containing dangerous summonings and necromancy. He’s certain whoever has been stalking the Seventy-Seventh is composing their end game. It’s going to take a consolidated effort from paranormal police, librarians and some not-quite-authorized civilians to head off the impending catastrophe.

Review: Carrington and Erasmus, from book three, are back in this sixth installment of the series. They are still trying to find their footing in their relationship while at the same time Carrington takes over as leader of the squad. The team are on a mission to stop the ending of the world in this showdown against good vs. evil.

I liked the cast of different paranormals withing the unit. They are each different and bring a different element to the series. Well written with drama, action, suspense and mystery this series takes the reader on a journey with the team apprehending bad guys along with getting to know the team members themselves.

Great read.

Review: Albert and Finn are on the mend after being rescued from Sir Aaron’s evil clutches. Albert is at a loss since he has no idea what to do with his life now. These men have been through so much. But with the others hep they will make it through the darkness. At the time time D’Arcy and the commander are on the hunt for missing money that does not belong to them putting Albert’s friends Dorothy and her six year old son Arthur in danger.

Albert goes to the rescue as well as Finn. Amazing addition to the warriors of sage saga. Intense, heartbreaking, joy, sadness, and action are all interwoven into this book. It will pull you in and not let go until the very end.

These books must be read in order to understand better understand all the characters and backgrounds that are throughout. Start with Two Spirits then move on to Spirits of Sage series and finally Warriors of Sage as all these books are connected.

Highly recommended.

Review: Each book in Kalil’s Coven collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two sexy men involved. I absolutely love how this author put together a story that draws you in but keeps your attention through out the whole story. This is one of those types of stories that you just can’t read once. It is exciting, adventure packed, danger filled and that is just a few fun points to this story. The guys are well rounded and fully engaging.

Cory is Billy’s best friend and brother by another mother. He has been hiding a big secret from Billy though, he is a cat shifter. So when his best friend disappears, he decides to find his ass. He does not expect to find him at a coven though, nor does he expect the leader to be his mate.

Jotham is the Rei for his coven, and he has found his mate. To bad like all alpha’s he screws it up, but when it comes down to it, they back each other up. Now all Jotham has to do is to get ready for a sarcastic and very feisty mate. Just wait and see what pops up. With danger all around them, well you will just have to read the book.

This was a fascinating story that I had a lot of fun with. Cory and Billy do not take crap from anyone, and boy those two are going to set the coven on their heads. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Well, some things just can’t be put off for long, especially when Erik discovers his mate had been placed in grave danger.

Billy loved his job, as an editor, for Romancing the Readers Publishers, until he made what he thought was the biggest discovery in his career. Billy had the hots for his boss but wasn’t going to let him know. However there was an author who would not take no for an answer. But this author was not who he seemed to be, or should I say what. To top it off, the man was a thief. But when his boss finds out, well lets just say Billy is going to have his eyes wide open.

Erik is a vampire. When he found out that Billy was his un amor, well he was not going to let him go. Then to find out one of his coven was what he was, well lets just say read the book. It is going to get real interesting , let me tell you. Beware, Billy is a very feisty human.

When I started reading this, I felt behind because I had not known it was a branch off of another series. So I am going to go read those books once more, and you guessed it get a second reading of this book. It is that much fun. I can not wait to get my hands on the next book.
