Review: Really interesting story about Niall moving to Massachusetts after the death of his mother and buying an old Victorian home. Wanting to do repairs he hires contractor Tobin. The two hit it off instantly but angry spirits quickly make themselves known, which usually happens when you renovate anywhere ghosts are around as they do not like change.

Tennyson and the gang find out the spirits are from the sale witch trials and attempt to get them to move on. I liked the story. It was engaging and I loved reading about what happened to the victims. Humans are cruel when thrown into things they do not understand or go against their beliefs.

Great read.

Review: Gray is hired to protect Sebastian. What starts out as job slowly turns into something more. Sebastian’s enhanced power was stunning to witness. I loved the slow burn between the two as the story progressed.

This story is not as intense as the other stories in the enhanced series but it still packs a punch. Seb is self conscience and reclusive. He doesn’t trust anyone. The experiments he is put through are mind boggling. I admit I felt his dad was extremely unemotional to the wants of Seb.

My heart went out to Seb as he struggled for his independence against family and a system that gives enhanced no rights. Gray was a rock for Seb when he needed it the most.

Great read.

Review: I liked both Mal and Jory’s characters but found it hard to believe that Jory had no clue that he was something more than human. I mean with his abilities he should have had some idea. Mal’s deception I understood because of the job he took to find Jory and retrieve him.

The overall feeling of the book was good suspense. The ending was the icing on the cake but it felt rushed at times. The bad guy I figured out pretty quickly. I was disappointed with the fact that the story never revealed what happened to Asmodeus. He was never a key character but he was mentioned so much that I wanted to know.

Aside from that I enjoyed reading about Mal, Jory, Neal, louise and the dragon. They were all interesting characters that brought the story to life. Plenty of action scenes added an edge of your seat element to the book.

Great read.

Through a series of events too wild to be believed, Harrison is thrown back in time to 1775, mere days before the Battle of Bunker Hill, finding himself at the business end of a musket held by the very man he has been pining for.

Massachusetts Militiaman, Gannon Chalmers, does not know what to make of the strange man he finds wandering around Bunker Hill days before his unit is to engage the British Redcoats. Is this man friend or foe? What he does know is that there is an undeniable attraction growing between them that he must resist at all costs.

As the battle draws closer, so do Gannon and Harrison. Can they deny the passion threatening to explode between them like a powder keg? Or will Gannon’s abundance of caution keep him from giving in to the one man who could lay claim to his heart?

On the brink of a war that will change the history of the world, the pair must decide what price they are willing to pay for freedom, and how much they are willing to sacrifice for love.

Review: I loved this story about Harrison the events that unfolded. Harrison is a museum curator and loves the revolutionary war era. He gets thrown back in time to seventeen seventy six and meets Gannon, a soldier who died in battle. He has been drawn to his grave and spoke to him daily.

Gannon for his part is cautious upon meeting Harrison. He does not know whether the man is friend or foe. These two men spend three days together and fall in love. My heart broke for Harrison at the same time I was happy he got to spend time time with Gannon.

The real shocker came from the end and meeting Gage. It’s who he ancestors with that had me doing a happy dance for Harrison. Suspenseful, full of great action scenes and a love that travels through time this story pulled no punches.

I loved everything about it.

Review: Ronan gets a letter from a convict, Tank, claiming his innocence in a murder conviction. Ronan is excited at the prospect of proving the mans innocence. Ten is not as thrilled until he meets the man and knows he is innocent of the crime.

I liked how Ronan and Ten went through proving Tank’s innocence however, I felt the actual mystery of the story was lacking. There was a lot about different couples interactions and a new character Judas that took up more space than was needed in this story.

Nevertheless it was an engaging story with a slew of characters that added a lot of drama to mix. Good addition to the series.

Great read.

Review: I have a confession to make: I am addicted to Mary Calmes. Her writing is like crack to me, I can’t stay away from it, I simply don’t have the will to say no. Mary’s books tend to be somewhat confusing sometimes, and almost every time, regardless of who the characters are, the guys hug anyone that’s in close enough distance. This seems to be the case here as well and while I find it cute, I’m simply incredulous at the lack of self-preservation the characters display.

It’s been a long time since I read Romanus, but for some reason it stayed with me, even though I remember thinking at the time that it was a wreck. I’m so glad we got the continuation of Luc and Mason’s story because we find out more about the history of Goji and the role Romanus has in this world. But this time around Mason decides he wants a future with Luc dammit, and nobody is going to get in his way and no one messed with his man. That was hot!

There was not even a second for me to get bored because this book is action packed from the beginning to the end. It had some kind of whiplash effect on me because one moment Luc and Mason get all sweet and sentimental with each other, and the next there’s daddy issues (holy fuck that was dramatic), jealous siblings, a murder attempt, a mating, fucking mid-flight (cuz’ bad-ass gargoyles can do that you know), the history of goji and gargoyles is revealed and many more things I simply couldn’t keep up with.

It was all very interesting and engaging, although I’m not sure if Mason’s father is a psychopath, an asshole, or a vile, evil human being. If you’re read Romanus you’re going to want to read this as well because it wraps up the story of Mason and Luc quite nicely. Now……

Can Gabriel get his own story as well??? Pretty Please Mary? And how about Mason’s best friend Finn and Raoul? They deserve their own stories as well.

Review: Having to rehash old hurts done to him by his family leaves Ten on edge but he has to go to bury his father after his ghost visits him. Having to deal with his mothers bigoted ways takes a toll on Ten but with his friends and Ronan their to shelter him they teach his om that maybe she should change her ways. While this part is interesting I loved the mystery better.

While there Ten and Ronan are asked to look into a case. The details of the mystery are intense as the story progresses and we are given a glimpses of who the suspect is throughout. I loved how well the team works together to bring the suspect to light as they find clues that point in the right direction for the sheriff.

All in all it was a great read with an edge of your seat feel to it.

Great read.

Review: Tennyson gets exactly what he asks for when on vacation he can’t stand the voices and asks to be left alone. Silence rains down for the first time ever and Tennyson is scared of being cast out. I loved how Tennyson was struggling to living without his gift and relying on instinct and facts.

Each of the characters reconnected with them themselves and each other in this addition. I liked how even though Ronan had no clue how to help Tennyson he was there for him. Their relationship seemed to grow stronger between them as a result.

Interesting addition to the series.

Only able to communicate through the use of images, rather than words, getting any information out of the young man is frustrating and slow going.

Cold Case Detective Ronan O’Mara has been on a roll solving cases since he and Tennyson last teamed up to solve the Michael Frye case. Unfortunately, the red-hot romance that had blossomed between them during that investigation is now off in a ditch, thanks to Ronan’s self-confessed pigheadedness.

Agreeing to work together despite the rift in their relationship, Tennyson and Ronan discover they are in for more than they bargained for when more victims start to reveal themselves to Tennyson.

Realizing they might have a serial killer on their hands, the two men work tirelessly to stop this madman from killing again, but when the killer targets the son of a prominent member of the Boston Police Department, can Ronan and Tennyson save him before it’s too late?

Reviewer: Shorty

Review: Tennyson and Ronan seem to not know what they want in their relationship. At the start these two are not speaking to each other. When a teenage ghost comes to Tennyson wanting him to catch his killer he knows he’s going to need Ronan’s help.

The case is heartbreaking. I felt so sad for the untimely death of the young man and the manner in which he died. I was glad Tennyson and Ronan took the case to give the spirit peace.

While I like the series and realize that it needs both Tennyson and Ronan I have to admit I get somewhat bored reading about the same MC’s over and over again. These two seem to run hot and cold at times and needed to talk to one another about what they actually want in a relationship.

Great read.

Lisa’s Review ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

Tory Temple is a new author for me so I wasn’t to sure what to expect. I have never really been a fan of new authors works but only because I have a certain type of book that I like. However this one was pretty damn good. I love the different aspect of this story and the fact that the main guy could hear the animals around him. It pretty much rocked.

Alex and his twin sister could hear the thoughts of animals, although Alex more than Tabby. He was going to school and working at the emergency animal care clinic. He enjoyed it quite a bit. Although his gift is helps him when animals are in trouble, it has a hefty price. He is left with horrible migraines, but Alex will take it as long as he can help an animal.

Then the sexiest man in uniform shows up with a severely injured fawn. Alex is attracted to him, just as Dylan is taken with him. It goes pretty good even though Alex is afraid of telling Dylan about his gift. He has done it before and it never turned out good for him. But Dylan is very persistent about being with him, so Alex agrees.

This story is pretty even paced and kept my attention throughout the story. These guys are perfect together, however I had a few issues with it. For one Dylan never believed Alex about his gift, and it never got fixed. Also the story doesn’t just end like a I am used to it just seemed to stop instantly, which was a drop for me. Even though it is even paced and kept my attention, the story really is missing something to make it really good. I also didn’t much care for the repetitive talk from the animals, it made the story seem lacking a bit. Also Gordon and his evil plot were just nuts. It felt like the author just threw that in for a little more meat, however it was more off to me. It was just so far off because there is no motive other than the guy just wanted money. Every part of the story that had him in it, just felt like added filter for me. So it brought the story down in my eyes. Other than those issues though, I did enjoy it the story.

Pixie’s Review ♥♥♥♥ 3 ½ Hearts

Alex can hear animal thoughts, it helps him with his job at the emergency animal clinic but it does nothing for his love life when boyfriends can’t get away from him fast enough when he admits the truth. Meeting Dylan has Alex hoping that he can eventually confess the truth, but when a bad case of animal abuse has Alex passing out Dylan is sceptical of Alex’s confession. Dylan loves his job as an animal-control officer, meeting Alex is an opportunity that Dylan doesn’t want to miss. But Dylan has some doubts when Alex confesses he can hear animals’ thoughts, can Dylan accept Alex’s claim or will it drive the two men apart?

This is a cute story that has some super cute animals and a hot romance. Alex is a great character who is a little different, he can hear animals’ thoughts, which is great when they are injured but is distressing when they have been abused. Dylan is a great character who is just an everyday kind of guy, he loves animals and tries to help as many as he can. When these two meet they have a subtle attraction which quickly heats up, but Alex’s confession begin to drive them apart.

I liked this story and enjoyed the background friction between Alex and his co-worker Gordon; it adds a good dose of tension and adversity to the story. The relationship between Alex and Dylan is cute, Alex is a bit of a bumbler especially when he’s trying to talk his way around his ownership of Karma (his pet ferret) and both men can be mega cute with each other. Their relationship is hot, there are plenty of smexy times between them, and the animals’ antics are funny and sweet.

The story is easy going and enjoyable, there isn’t much friction except for Gordon and it has some really cute animal adventures. Other than that it really is just a story about two men finding love and accepting their differences, it’s enjoyable but nothing to really get your teeth into.

I recommend this to those who love cute animals, sexy men, a touch of tension, accepting the truth no matter how strange and a very sexy relationship that overcomes cute annoying animals, and human differences.

Review: Carson was a fraud until his gift manifested. In doing so he sets out to save a man from death he sees in the vision. When he meets Truman sparks fly between the two. Fascinating story with suspense and drama.

I liked that Carson wanted to save Truman. Even though Carson was a little stunned that the gift manifested in him so late. Truman seemed laid back and happy except for the whole “I’m going to kill you” threat from the ex employee he fired.

All in all it was an entertaining read.

He has no idea that his midday appointment with a customer, who instead turns out to be a police detective, is going to change the course of his life and his career.

With the blessing of the BPD, which badly needs an image make-over, Ronan is allowed to bring Tennyson in to assist with the Frye case. Being thrown together in front of cameras is never easy, but add in an emotional missing person’s investigation, a tight-lipped spirit, and a cop who’s a skeptic, and it definitely puts a strain on both men and their working relationship.
When the child’s body is found, the work to identify his killer begins. As Ronan and Tennyson get closer to solving the case, the initial attraction they feel for one another explodes into a passion neither man can contain.

Will working together to bring Michael’s killer to justice seal their fledgling bond, or will unexpected revelations in the case tear them apart forever?

Please be aware this book deals with the topic of child abuse, specifically, sexual abuse.

Review: Ronan, a cop, is demoted to the cold case squad. I did not know quite what he did to be transferred. It claimed he was an alcoholic yet that did not feel quite right to me. The case itself was very well written and flowed smoothly with all the suspense and mystery you could want. However, I figured out the who done it early on.

The psychic, Tennyson is the real deal. He helps anyway he can with missing people. I loved his character and was intrigued by him. The reality t.v. show aspect of the book I did not like. I mean what detective would want a t.v. show following their every move as they investigated a disappearance. It seemed forced to me.

All in all this story was entertaining with an odd cast of characters that seemed to be introduced all at once at the beginning. They case was well written and had my attention from the start.

Good read with plenty of drama for all.

Review: Gael, an enhanced, gets a new human partner, Jake. These two definitely get off to a rocky start but when they are tasked with finding a killer of enhanced individuals they become closer even though they are no longer partners.

I found this story to be awesome. I loved that despite their fears these eventually opened up to the other which was a good thing because one of them may not survive the clutches of a killer. The killer I had figured out before I was told as some things threw up warning bells as the story progressed.

Jake was determined to help Gael as much as he could and when he was in Danger it was Jake that lead the rescue. It broke my heart at what these two have endured in their lives especially Gael. But they helped the other overcome and move on.

Derrick was adorable. I loved that Gael was able to communicate with him when no one else could. This is a fantastic addition to the series. Filled with mystery, suspense and heart stopping scenes this story will have you on the edge of your seat.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Review: Extrasensual Perception by Rayna Vause is something that is very tricky for me to review. The blurb drew me in, the plot itself I enjoyed and I really did love the two MCs. I’m totally sure if I’ve read anything by Vause in the past, but I have to say that I liked the writing style too. However, there was something about it that left me feeling flat and just a tad bit … well, meh.

The story starts out with Christopher Vincent, he’s a good guy but down on his luck – like many MCs in books – and just like many MCs in romance books he’s desperate to find a job. And just like many other romances, the second MC and love interest is the best friend’s brother, the very hot, very macho and serious businessman Jackson Whitman. Christopher gives in to his best friend’s pleas to act as psychic in her new co-owned club which gimmick is a carnival. The trouble being that Christopher, much like his mother, does actually has legit psychic ability. I don’t suppose this book really falls into the realm of Dreamspinner Press’s new line, Dreamspun Beyond, but the whole psychic thing was a little quirky and a very enjoyable side to the story.

This is where all the drama starts. With Jackson’s sister, Chris’s best friend, being the target of a stalker Chris is a race against time to understand the glimpses his gift gives him in order to save the day. The romance between Jackson and Chris gives off massive sparks from the get go, I will admit that there is good dose of insta-love, but the romance rolls along well with the rest of the plot. In short, I’m just trying to say that it all rolls up in a neat package that makes sense.

As always I found the narration by John Solo flawless. I have loved his narration of every book I’ve heard him do. He just has a knack for nailing the voices and emotions of the main characters, as well as the secondary characters. I honestly don’t know what left me feeling a little flat about the whole story. I did enjoy it and personally I think it would the perfect book to listen to when you’re trying to unwind – especially if you’ve just read an intense book that leaves you utterly shattered.
