Review: Some secrets should stay buried…

Imagine if you will, having a few drinks then accompanying the gorgeous guy at the bar back up to his room for some mind-blowing sex. Then waking up in a park, in the arms of an Angel statue, buck ass naked with no memory of how you got there. That is just a bad day all around. It gets better though, when said gorgeous guy goes missing.

Zach Taylor is at the top of his game at his firm. He’s young, successful and single, has the world at his fingertips. That lovely evening I just mentioned leaves him frazzled and fraying, trying to remember. Things go from bad to worse when questioning eyes fall on him. And then an old lady with a box and a couple of tears sends Zach down a spiraling staircase toward a past he has only briefly remembered in his dreams.

Nate Shaw is big, brooding, sexy and oh so charming. His blue eyes and blinding white teeth go from menacing to sexy too quickly for my liking, but it definitely got Zach’s attention. Hold up in a basement, waiting out a snow storm, the two keep warm the old-fashioned way. Shared body heat. The thing is, Nate either has the best or the worst timing imaginable. He blows into Zach’s life right when everything is falling apart.

Wow. This book kind of blew my mind. I opened it with the intention to read a chapter or two between loads of laundry and, two hours later I read ‘The End’ and my mind is still spinning.

Knight just took me on a journey through the twisted mind of a mad man, and the uncertain mind of another that thinks he’s going mad. I figured a couple of things out early on, I wouldn’t say predictable, I’m just an avid crime story watcher so the clues were screaming at me. That being said, I have to wonder if Knight didn’t leave those clues on purpose, bread crumbs if you will, to take my attention off the truth.

This was a murder mystery full of twists and turns. Right about the time you think you have it all figured out, you really don’t. So well written that even at the very end, two pages left to go, there was another twist that had me holding my breath. Be warned, there is some darkness in this story, murder, madness, mayhem and pure evil. Knight’s imagination is both fantastic, and terrifying.

So if you are looking for a book that you can sink your teeth into, a book that will hold your attention from start to finish, a story so engrossing you can’t look away as you read through your fingers… well then, this book will certainly do.

Review: Vegas Sin is part of the Totally Five Star imprint stories.

I very rarely read murder and mystery stories, because they just don’t call to me like a good romance does. In a story I want the danger and suspense, but I also want heat, passion, romance and some hot sex. Now I have only read a handful of Jambrea’s stories but I have never been disappointed in them. And that hasn’t changed at all. This story had a serious tone which one would expect in this type of story, however there is a bit of humor that makes it even better.

I love the way Owen is when he meets Harrison. He comes off like a giddy school boy around his first boyfriend. Then there is Harrison who just absolutely adores Owen. These two get together and damn it is hot to watch.

Owen is a detective in Las Vegas and has just found himself on a multiple kidnapping case. On top of that he finally got his mother in to a home for Alzheimer’s. Then his sister and niece manage to get kicked out of yet another home, so he has some new roommates, things were getting a bit strange. However he loves his niece that is for sure. The problem is his sister looks like those missing girls.

Harrison notices Owen at the casino and wants to see more of the man. Harrison is head of security at the Totally Five Star hotel and casino. Out of the military, he loves his job and looks forward to working. It would seem now he has more to look forward to. That is if they can catch the bad guy and save the girls.

Now I did notice a few errors and spelling mishaps in the story but it didn’t take away from the story at all. Also there was something about the way this one was told that made it feel a bit stiff and off. You also don’t really get a good description of the guys which makes it hard to visualize them in the story. Plus they meet but there is no buildup to their relationship, no friction at all. Just meet, sex, and slowly fall in love with.

It gets better with time but the story was missing some important parts to make it perfect. It does come off rushed and a bit awkward. However the story has great potential. Now other than those issues with this story, I had a lot of fun reading it.

I could definitely see myself reading this more than once. There is just something about it that pulls me to the story and to the guys.

Between working long hours at a coffee shop, guarding his sodas from his hygienically challenged roommates, and running the programming at the Vegas LGBTQ teen shelter he founded—how could there ever be space for love in his life?

Diego Espinoza enjoys taking his downtime from working Search and Rescue, at the Lucky Cup coffee shop. He imagines that the pretty boy has more offers than he knows what to do with, so it takes Diego time to work up the nerve to approach him.

Rich isn’t so sure about the rough-looking Diego—even if he’s always thought he was hot—but once he decides to gives Diego a chance, there’s an immediate heat and connection that takes him by surprise. As they learn more about each other and try to find the way to a future together, strange and scary things start to happen.

Review: I’ve wanted this story for a while now, being a fan of the series and having read every book, I see Rich in the background and have eagerly waited for his time to come. Rich may be young, but he has a good head on his shoulders. He volunteers constantly at the shelter, takes classes at the local college and works full-time at the Lucky Cup Coffee Shop.

His schedule doesn’t leave much time for dating but when he does, one disastrous date after another leads Rich to consider swearing off men for a while. That is until the hot guy that Rich can’t help but notice almost daily at the Coffee Shop finally asks him out.

Diego loves his job as part of the Search and Rescue unit for LVMPD being the outdoors type of guy. He even spends his off time hiking and climbing, mostly because he doesn’t have a man in his life. Diego has a sour taste in his mouth as well from past relationships, but there is something about the beautiful blonde at the Coffee Shop that has not only caught Diego’s eyes, he makes Diego want so much more than a one night stand.

These two definitely move fast, but it’s the attention to details that made their instant connection okay with me. Diego goes out of his way to woo Rich. Compliments, dates, conversation, and oh boy can the man kiss! Rich can’t breathe, much less think, when Diego lays his lips on him. I think what I enjoyed most about the relationship between these two was their conversations.

Diego especially always paid attention to everything Rich said, which was new to Rich and took some getting used to, but the way they were able to confide in each other from the start, to be a shoulder for each other when they had a bad day. This happened to them both in the story. I just loved that the relationship wasn’t all about sex. That being said, the sex was fantastic! Passionate, playful, tender and rough. When these two went at it I had to wipe the steam off my kindle.

Fast paced and completely engaging with a little bit of suspense for good measure. If you are a fan of the series, Knight’s work, men in uniforms, or just a hopeless romantic… you’ll love this book too.

Review: I loved this book – obviously since I gave it a 5/5 rating. The big winner for me is that this feels just so completely real in every way that I couldn’t help but enjoy it. The plot then did the rest of the work and I feel in love with the plot and the characters just so damn easily.

If you’re looking for romance, I feel like I keep reminding people about this, but this is a DSP Publication book, the branch of Dreamspinner Press where the romance is not strictly the main plot of the book. So in saying that, there is romance and quite a sweet and lovely one at that, but the book is about more than just the romance.

So let me set the scene, we open up meeting Brock, a wildlife officer based in a small Colorado town. While at a diner he happens across a video that shows illegal poaching of local eagles. Recognising the area – and potentially, the couple of birds – he and a fellow officer go off to save the nest.

Through work such as this, Brock has met and spoken to Landon on numerous occasions. Landon runs a wildlife rehab centre which takes in many animals such as mountain lion cubs and eagle chicks, brought in by Brock and his colleagues. There is a rather simple attraction between these guys from the get go and despite Brock being in the closet things are set to sizzle while the rest of the plot takes hold.

So after saving the eagle chick, it seems that Brock has stumbled upon something quite illegal. Once he realises that the local eagle population is in danger, he is ready to save the day. The plot is really as simple as though there are a number of other wildlife and law enforcement officers popping up throughout the book.

Brock is something of an action man out to save the wildlife – he is also completely charming and lovable. His dog, who really doesn’t make too many appearances, also adds to his owner’s character.

This one is probably more for the people who like reading about realistic relationships and like a bit of action. I fear though because of the realism that some people may find this one a little boring.

Review: So I feel the need to restate my feelings from the first book in Mountain Spirit Mysteries series, Eagle’s Blood. Everything about the feel and setting of the book carry over to this one:

I loved this book – obviously since I gave it a 5/5 rating.

You should probably read book 1 before getting into Grizzly Discovery, although I think you could get away with not doing so. We pick up with our heroes, Landon and Brock, who are now a fully fledged couple. They are now living together and they are ready to come out with the relationship to the world at large.

The romance between these guys is still sweet and understated, but they are totally suited to each other. I really have to repeat myself again, I just love how realistic and relatable their relationship is.

Clearly, from the title we’ve shifted from eagles to the illegal poaching of bears. This is another racy plot of the wildlife and law enforcement officers of the local area out to catch the people who are poaching the local bear population in a town that is so very close to the wilds to begin with.

Honestly, the plot is very similar to the first but with some key alterations, including the bears, so that you don’t feel like you’re reading the same book for a second time. I binged read both books in the same day and it didn’t feel like the same book twice to me.

I think one of the key components to this book is that we are given the chance to explore the local woods a little more and we the minor characters are given a bit more room to actually develop in this one.

A cute and charming side note is that we get to see more of the eagle chick, Frigga, from the book. The whole falconry aspect of the series is absolutely fascinating and something I would love to see more of in this setting.

I love the remote setting of these books. The descriptions of rugged scenery highlight the plight of the stopping the poaching. I don’t know, maybe it is in the ecologist in me, but I really did love this aspect. They aren’t straight out weird wildlife warriors. Instead, these are guys that care about the environment and ecosystem.

Though I must admit that this business of being a wildlife officer/park ranger seems pretty damn dangerous and not just from the four-legged and furry creatures – the upright bipedal animal seems to be the worst of all.

Now I can’t wait for Book 3: Moose Fever to come out!

Review: First I want to say I love this cover. It is simple but drew me to the book. It has a powerful impact.

Brett is a freshman in college. He doesn’t have a good relationship with his father and his mother passed away when he was young. He craves affection and attention. Needing to ge his math up to speed ad to not let his father down, Brett hires a tutor. Jeremy is dark, brooding, mysterious and sexy. He is also good at knowing what his students need as he meets up and checks out all his students. His friend Sam hints at there being something wrong with Jeremy but Brett doesn’t believe it. Not until he experiences it in spades.

I absolutely loved this story. I loved all the characters…Jeremy included. Sam and Brett are on my favorite couples list for this year. I adored their dynamics, the way they fit, their different personalities.

I am also putting this book on my favorite list as well. I loved the coming of age feel, the new adult experience as Brett learns some painful lessons and finds love and things out about his father. There are a couple of stories going on here, Brett’s feelings for his father and relationship, the issues with Jeremy and his relationship with Sam. There are a lot of lessons we can all learn.

If you like new adult gay romance, rich men that don’t show it, mysterious, dark protagonists, suspense, sexy gingers and, of course, some hot man-sex you will love this nook.

I’m highly recommending it to all m/m romantic suspense lovers.

Review: From what I understood is this is A.C. Burch’s debut novel. Now I am usually a bit off when it comes to new books and new authors. I never know what to expect and it makes me a bit untrusting. However I was amazed by the gift this author has. The characters were well-developed and captivating. The story was well-developed and the descriptions were just out there. I was captivated from the moment I start reading and my attention was kept till the end.

Although I was a just a bit creeped out. I was never much for even a touch of thriller that is for sure. The romantic touch, the mystery given, the suspense and the adventure was a big hit. These guys just hit my radar that is for sure.

Marc left New York when his boyfriend got abusive. In fact he just ran for his life. He is a writer or he wants to be one I guess I would say. He is a little hottie that is for sure. So when Lola hires him he is bit off. Now the start of this book sets the tone for me. He is afraid of his boyfriend Brandon. I got that off the bat.

Then there is the humor in parts of it.

For example when the old lady loses her groceries, he goes and saves them and she ends up drinking his hot chocolate. That was a blast. I got a big kick out of that. However Dorrie gives him a lead on a job and a place to live. It would seem Lola is lonely and pays for someone to just keep her company. What a gig I would love to get.

Now Marc’s story is heart breaking. What Brandon put him through makes me want to skin him alive. Then there is Cole’s story of heart ache and I just wanted to weep. There are so many heart aching stories that I had to put the book up for a few minutes. I just hated knowing what they went through. These two are just about the perfect couple to me. They go through so much and help not each other but their friends. I love the mysteries that they find and try to figure out. I had such a blast with this story.

Like I said it has a mixture of feelings that pull at you. I was amazed by this book although it does seem just a bit drawn out. I think had it been not so detailed I might have been able to stick with it all in one sitting. However it wore me out trying to figure out what was going to happen next.

I would definitely recommend this book and I look forward to the next story.

Review: This is the first book by Edward Kendrick that I’ve read and I have to say, it was a pretty interesting introduction to a new author. First thing that struck me was the writing. It was just such an easy book to follow, even if I found the pace a little slow at times.

To describe this one and for you to understand where I’m coming from, I hope you’ve all got your comics and cartoon hat firmly on. I’m going to say it’s like if Batman (DC Comics) was really Daredevil (Marvel, he’s the blind lawyer) and was in a romantic relationship with Detective Ethan Bennett from the Gotham City PD.
Got that? No?

Well, 41-year-old, mild-mannered investment counsellor Zack Ward spends many nights protecting the young people on the street from the usual scum – pimps, drug dealers and other predators. The love of his life, Dallas, is a police officer and knows of Zack’s alter ego, Reaper. In fact, Dallas encourages it.

The story is relatively uncomplicated, so I’m not going to go into anything too much deeper. This is something worthy of a comic book – though like in comic books/Marvel movies, it does leave me wondering just how safe it is to be a vigilante where there is a police force likely to arrest said vigilante. At least, though, Zack does not leave a trail of destruction in his path.

I love how well the MCs work together. Zack and Dallas are in an established relationship. So it is nice that that aspect of romance takes a back seat and in the end this is just a story about two guys making things work under extraordinary circumstances. I also happen to love the ragtag supporting characters, Zip, Colly, Raven and Sway. I think it adds a bit of realism here, because let’s face it, every hero needs a bit of help along the way.

This book appealed to me because I’m into superheroes, I’m just not certain what other types that it would appeal to.

Review: I have read only one other book by Alex and there is such a different type of tone to it that drives me nuts. And when I say nuts, I do say it in a good way. I never was one for mysteries unless I am extremely bored and can’t get my hands on another book. Which is how I started reading this and I have to tell you I had fun with it.

Although I must admit that it really wasn’t my type of story. As with mysteries I am not much for BDSM and all that. It kind of creeped me out a bit. I need to learn more about it I suppose because if the guys are this hot, then damn I will definitely need to learn more. The Marine part and the fact that they are PI’s now is one hot factor to this book.

Dan and Mark were not only working together but sleeping together. Now according to the blur Dan’s BDSM past was going to cost him. However I didn’t really get that part of the story. Seeing as Dan is a Dominate and Mark is his sub. That part is what came off a bit bizarre to me. It also showed me a part that I didn’t much care for.

These two were a couple but Dan’s giving him to another just was wrong to me. I didn’t much care for that. Now back to the story itself.
The cage is fighting rings. There are three different types that they will deal with. Dan was to guard a young fighter where many wanted to stop the poor kid. It is up to Mark to find a way to save them both.

There is a lot of kink that you can find in it. Dan is one kinky man that is for sure.

Now this book is well written, with a lot of detail and juice however for me it was just difficult to follow. I am not really sure what it was but the darkness I sensed drove me nuts.
Now this book was well written, but difficult for me to follow. It did catch my attention from the start, but I found my mind wandering a bit.

With this book it was the title that caught my attention first, then the cover. The blurb is not very good in describing this book to me, so it didn’t make me want to read it. It didn’t have me anticipating the taste of it. I know that sounds a bit odd and my words are a bit hard to find these days it would seem. There is just so much violence, darkness and the sex is something I couldn’t even begin to explain without giving too much away.

I did like the book itself but it definitely was not for me. I found myself trying to figure out why they did the things they did. I just wasn’t really sure what to think of the book though.

Review: When I first started reading this I wasn’t sure what to expect. It has a dark tone to it and very little humor so I was expecting it to be wrong for me. However when I started reading I could not put the books down. So much in fact that this is book four and I am still amazed. So much in fact that I read the first three books today and have just finished book four. Now most who know me know I can read fast, but these books take a little more attention than I had expected.

The characters are well written, there is so much depth to them that you can’t help but love them. Lucky and Bo have gone to hell and back. They still stuck with each other, through it all and for me that is amazing. Bo was my favorite of them both, Lucky came off as an ass however the more I read the more it was Lucky that pulled to me.

Bo was fed up with it all, so he left and then disappeared. He had been undercover for a year and he was making the ranks of drug dealer pretty fast. However two weeks and he is missing. Lucky must save his ass. The problem was it was the past that caught up with him.

After he had done his time with the agency, he had chosen to stay but had taken a new identity. Victor’s nephew was alive and new who he was. He had gotten Bo to work for him. However he wanted Lucky for himself. New allies show up to help, but there are many that are betraying them all. He has questions and needs the answers to get his man out of danger.

This was a fascinating story that caught my attention and kept it all the way through the book. It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. The love these guys have between each other is a love that should be seen throughout. The sex is majorly hot and oh I can say so damn arousing.

I had a blast with this book and would definitely recommend it. I also can’t wait to read the next book.

Review: Hot damn you have men in uniforms, and the best is they are Navy Seals. Each book in the Unexpected collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Each story is well written, with characters that not only draw you in, but captivate your heart. You can usually tell when someone writes with their feelings and not just for money, this is one of those types of books. Now it was not perfect, however it did not take away from the story.

Simon had once been a sexy naval captain, that is until a group of men attacked his ship. Now he wanted paybacks. He had been forced to change his identity and to fake his death. He was also forced to work for the CIA. A job he had not wanted. He had wanted to be in the Navy. He wanted to find those men and make them pay.

He also wanted Edgar.

Edgar had always thought he would stay friends with Simon but things always come to an end. Or so he thought. When Simon showed up bloody once more well things change even more. Guess he isn’t as straight as we assumed. He has the hots for his teammate. He had told Simon earlier that he wanted him to stop showing up. It wasn’t the reason he gave though, it showed that he was growing in Edgar’s heart just a bit more.

This was full of suspense, captivating and very hot little love story that has some pain in it that will break your heart. Now I do not much care for endings that are not really an ending at all. It drives me nuts and sometimes it does the exact opposite of what an author truly wants. If I am left hanging I usually lose interest in the series real fast. Now I am not sure of this series so we will see how the next book ends.

This was a fantastic story that I loved to read. It captivated me from the first moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me almost everything I could ask for in a story. Including some hot sex.

I would definitely recommend this and can’t wait for the next book.

Review: OMG, I love Fit to be Tied by Mary Calmes. It has everything you could possibly want in a story. Plus, the sex between these guys is off the charts, hot. Watching Ian find his pleasure with Miro is absolutely mind melting. He had no idea it could be like that especially since he never felt that way with women. Another plus, the humor is hilarious as they banter back and forth and you will be cracking up at some of their escapades.

Miro and Ian are the perfect combination of give and take. Ian has that rough, growly demeanor that makes you stand up and listen, and Miro has the voice of reason, gentler, laidback attitude, that makes you swoon. However, Miro can also be dominating and fiery when needed, and he knows when Ian needs him to take that control.

Together, these two can do anything but when they become separated, they sometimes allow that little devil in their head to take over – putting doubt and confusion in their minds.

Miro has never been happier than he is now since Ian has moved in and they are now partners off the job, as well as on. One of my favorite lines in the book is “Ian was still technically bi, but was exclusively now Mirosexual and wasn’t interested in trying the buffet.”

Even though he is thrilled with how their relationship is going he still can’t help but want more. If he could just get Ian to agree and stop being so pig-headed he knows the next step would put his mind to rest.

But, before anything can be worked out, action and drama take over and Miro finds himself in a heap of trouble. You may remember the evil, sadistic Hartley, from book 1 and his obsession for Miro. Well, he’s back and unfortunately, Miro seems to be his only agenda.

Mary Calmes takes us on a fast-paced, action-packed ride that will have you holding onto to the edge of your seat. You will be so wrapped up in the drama you will forget to breathe. The events taking place are intense and at times, horrifying. I kept saying, “She wouldn’t…would she?” Whether she did or not, you will have to read and find out but the fear is palpable and my heart was beating double time.

Away from those moments are many that are heartwarming and beautiful. Miro and Ian have found the love they deserve with each other. Ian, not used to having anyone stand up for him, gets emotional at the intensity of feelings Miro shows for him. It breaks my heart that Ian didn’t really know what love and being part of a family was until Miro showed him.

Of course, we also get to see a little of Sam Kage in action since he’s the boss and I always get tickled at Miro’s response to the big/brawny Marshal. If he could only see how he is with his own family he would be surprised at the passion that lies underneath those muscles.

I know I’m fangirling here, but this author has not written one thing I did not like. Most of what she has written, I have read numerous times and the Marshals series is no different. The descriptive narrative she has clicks with me and I’m pulled in every/single/time. I am constantly fighting myself to read faster vs. no…read slower so it will last longer.

Regardless, if you read fast or slow, you will be enthralled with the storyline. There is a lot of love going on and no matter if it is under the sheets or out in the day-to-day adventures these two have a strong connection with an abundance of hot chemistry.

I highly recommend this series to anyone who likes to read stories with a plot full of action and drama. This is not a standalone although I guess you could but you would miss so much back history that I would not advise it. There is a wonderful cast of characters including the strong and vibrant women that never hesitate to circle the wagons around Miro.

I love the parts with Chickie, the dog because he is family and shouldn’t be left out. The dialogue is fun and catchy and I know I had a smile on my face through most of the book. The sex is spontaneous and combustible so don’t be surprised if you catch yourself sweating a bit. I can’t wait to see what comes next in this series and I will be eagerly anticipating its release.

Another great addition that I will re-read many times.

Review: Each book in the Kansas City Heat collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. However it can be read as a standalone.

I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by Jenna. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down.

First embezzlement, then murder and it just keeps packing up. It is up to Mike to find out who is behind it all. The problem is he has the hots for the head of security. Things are heating up and then the impossible happens. Cole is being framed for it all. It is up to him to save his lover from some long jail time that is for sure.

Cole is the head of security at the casino and has the hots for the detective handling the embezzlement case. He understands the difficulties that is coming from their seeing each other, but he can’t stop. He wants the sexy detective. He trusts Mike to get him out of this mess and to keep their hearts from getting damaged.

I have to say that the ending is a bit off to me though. I can see the problem of them being lovers while the case is going on and also the attitude of Cole with all the questions. However I would have really liked the love word instead of lust. I just wished they could have moved forward just a bit more.

I also wished that it had been expanded. I could have continued to read it all night long. Even with that little problem, I was captivated by the whole story.

I would definitely recommend reading this book. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: Inner Sanctum is book 2 of Maggie Kavanagh’s series The Stonebridge Mysteries. If you have not read Double Indemnity I highly recommend reading it first so that you can understand much of the overarching plot and the all too important background on MCs Nathan and Sam.

First off, I need to say this is a wonderful continuation for couple Sam and Nathan. I love the fact that their relationship is not dictated by some sort of insta-look. Considering the events of the previous book, they have taken their time when it comes to being boyfriends and merging their lives together. That is one reason why this book is a joy to read.

Then there is Sam’s eternal optimism in the face of darkness and all the horrible crime that happens in the world around him. He is a sweet and honest man who wants to believe the best in people. But he is also very methodical and logical which is probably a part of his character being a journalist, or at least a successful blogger.

There isn’t a lot of Nathan featured heavily in this book but when he does he steals the spotlight. He has come a long way from where he left off in Double Indemnity and he seems real settled in his new-found love with Sam. He also steps in as the big, bad FBI agent we have come to know and love.

I loved every bit of this. I loved minor characters including Sam’s friends, Yuri and Michael, as well as troubled teen, Damon (I would really love to know more about his boyfriend). They were wonderful. Then there was also Nathan’s friend/colleague, Tony, who seems to have a lot going on behind the scenes. I would say of all the minor characters, Tony and Damon are the two that intrigue me the most.
I wasn’t expecting what happened in the last quarter of the book but

I loved every minute of the wonderfully written rollercoaster. Then after all the action we have a final bit of progression for the relationship between Sam and Nathan before we are left hanging (though it’s not a cliff hanger, I just can’t get enough of these guys).

And OMG – give me the next installment – stat!

Rafe Andrade returned home to lick his wounds following his ejection from the band he helped form. A recovering drug addict, Rafe spends his time wallowing in guilt, until he finds himself faced with his original addiction, Quinn Morgan—the reason he fled the city in the first place.

Review: Where there is a Morgan, trouble is likely not far behind.
Quinn Morgan is the odd man out when it comes to his very loud, very large Irish Catholic family. His father is a high-ranking official with the police department, most of his siblings, of which there are many, are cops as well. There is the black sheep that became a fireman, teenage rebellion and the need to be different from his brothers and sisters. But Quinn, he has always had trouble trying to find his own place in this world.

The one thing that kept him grounded, centered as a youth was Rafe Andrade. The two always shared a bond, so when Rafe took his leave to recognize his dream of being a Rock Star, it affected Quinn and not in a good way.

Rafe Andrade is a transplant Morgan, again, one of many. Brigid and Donal Morgan, the matriarchs of this large Irish family, are fierce, loyal and loving; not only with their own brood, but with their children’s friends and partners as well. And while Donal is a force to be reckoned with, you do not want to piss off the five foot tall red-headed Irish woman who is Brigid Morgan. When Rafe took off for greener pastures, losing his way and making some devastating mistakes, the Morgan’s welcomed him back with open arms.

But Rafe has continued to struggle with his past mistakes, and the one that has torn him apart most was walking away from Quinn.

As with all the books in this series, I am in love with the Irish baroque, the camaraderie between brothers and friends, and the unwavering commitment they all have to each other. Even if some of them do their damnedest to state otherwise, Yes Mickie, I’m talking to you! A few twists with this story, the usual form of threat for the family is changed up and I honestly didn’t even see the threat to Quinn as what it turned out to be.

Also, Brigid gets caught in the crossfire of another Morgan catastrophe, and I tell you what, watching all these big, brooding, alpha males cower in the wake of Brigid being hurt, it was very moving. She is the glue that holds them all together, and you have not seen anything yet to prepare you for the level of pissed off when someone accidentally hits mama.

Of course it’s a wild ride, there is a lot of passion and emotions run high, that’s par for the course with this group. What is different, are the characters and their struggles. I really enjoy it when an author continues to evolve and show variety for a series that is going in a specific direction. Change it up. Give the reader something new and fresh to keep you chomping at the bit for more.

Once Quinn and Rafe stop fighting the pull to each other, get past the past, and ignore all the Morgan men that are warning them off each other, Katie bar the door!

Must read series, I highly recommend it; it’s a series where I’ve read the different books multiple times myself. You have to read them in order though or you’ll miss a lot of character interaction and won’t understand some of the things that are said or insinuated throughout.

I hope we get at least one more book in this series, there are still a few loose threads to be neatly cut and folded. Now I will just sit back and wait for the audio, I cannot wait for Tristan James to sink his teeth into Rafe and Quinn!

Review: This was the first book I have read by this author and was quite surprised. I must admit that if it wasn’t for the blurb I would have probably passed it by. The title is just a bit stiff for me and didn’t catch my attention. The blurb for the book however did. I mean sexy men who carry guns. Damn it is hot.

Jack worked for MI6 but now he is just an ace hacker who has a job to do. He needs a job I should say, but he is a bit off on it all. The one man who had turned him the hell on, is in fact the man who he would work for. He just didn’t know what the job entailed all the way around.

He would be working on the computers at a security division, but it wasn’t exactly what he expected. He had thought on the computer, time to rest, not really hard, but boy does he find out that it is not what he thought. He is saving children, catching the evils and avoiding his boss. The same boss he has the hots for, and has wanted since he was a teen.

Gareth knows he wants Jack working for him. He plans on keeping it a hands on type of job also. Now he just has to get Jack to work the way he wants or should I say play. These two are a hot combination.

This book was fun to read and damn hot. Just reading it set my sheets on fire. The tension, the heat, the passion, the fire between these two is mind-blowing. There was a bit of time in the story that made it to slow, but there are a lot of things that make this book amazing. You get all of the above, plus action, excitement and ass kicking.

I will definitely be looking for more by this amazing author. I had fun and would definitely recommend it.

Review: Tate Williams and Clay Mortimer have been friends since they were boys. Both have always longed to be more, but feared rejection so they never admitted those feelings to one another.

When Clay gets a call that his best friend has been found shot, stabbed, seemingly tortured and left for dead, Clay decides it’s finally time to come clean about his feelings for Tate. Low and behold, the feelings are mutual. They can ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after now, cue the romantic music.

Wait; hold that thought, not so fast.

Tate is suffering from PTSD stemming from his four days in captivity. He has debilitating nightmares and flashbacks cause horrid mood swings. He loves Clay. That has never been the problem. The problem is Tate holding all the gory details of what happened during those four days inside, for fear Clay won’t understand or be able to deal with it, and it’s festering like an open wound.

Clay goes out of his way to protect his lover, to the point of suffocation. The one thing he isn’t doing is truly listening. After a series of ups and downs and Clay continuing to withdraw rather than talk about what it really is that’s bothering him, Clay finally gets to the root of the problem. But will he be able to get past the truth of what happened to Tate? And even if Clay can move forward once he knows everything, can Tate find his way out of the darkness? One thing is for sure, they can only survive it together.

I have been waiting for a very long time for Clay’s story. He’s always so secretive about his private life, and you learn why in this book. He’s accomplished, domineering and loyal to a fault, and he is exactly what Tate needs to bring him back from the edge of the cliff he’s teetering off of. I loved the chemistry these two shared, the way Clay would command Tate’s ‘full’ attention, and Tate would gladly give it.

They were sexy, passionate, damaged and committed to each other.
You also get a little page time with all the other characters we’ve come to love from the Men of London series through dinners and various, brief conversations. But there are a few new faces introduced as well.

I am especially excited to see if there will be a story in the future for Jax, I quite liked him. And with the addition of an outlet of sorts, a place for Tate to expend some energy and truly make a difference, it opens the door for some of the guys to perhaps expand their families.

One of my favorite contemporary series set in the heart of London with a variety of characters and storylines that all intersect.

Recommended to those that enjoy contemporary, passionate romances, slightly domineering alpha males and a whole lot of skin.

The ceremony is everything he hoped for, until an act of bigoted violence shatters Garron’s world, leaving his new husband in a pool of blood in the middle of the street. He’s left wondering if asking for everything will leave him with nothing.

Working with his new brother-in-law, Garron sets out to prove the identity of the shooter and bring him to justice. Along the way he learns that true love can have many different forms.

Garron’s Gift

Reviewer: Cat

Review: After the shooting of Sonny on their wedding day by an unknown gunman, Garron and Rawley are doing everything they can to get the shooter. But the town is under the thumb of the shooters dad, and things are hard for Rawley.

Garron is dealing with Sonny’s moodiness and the fight for justice. He brings in a sexy friend from Chicago to help but will Nate help or cause more friction between Sonny and Garron?

There are several storylines in this book. It isn’t all about Garron and Sonny. Jeb and Rawley get a lot of attention as well and near the end we get a bit of Nate.

It’s a bit predictable, but it is superb. I loved all the suspense. I especially liked how real the healing of Sonny felt. His injury caused him to have memory loss and personality issues; he wasn’t instantly back to his old self, there was a struggle in the relationship.

I did feel this story needed to be more about Garron and Sonny since the title is Garron’s gift, but I did feel that storyline was complete even though the killer wasn’t yet brought to justice.

I really enjoyed this story, and am loving this series and the character’s being added to each account.

If you like ranchers, lawmen, gay romance, contemporary romance, suspense, and some hot man-sex, this is for you.

Review: After the Final Encore is the third book in Scotty Cade’s Encore series. While the prequel book (Before the Final Encore) can be missed, to read this one you need to have at least read the Final Encore.

After the Final Encore picks up the story of lovers Ian and Billy 5 years after the Final Encore, where Billy’s country singing career seems to know no bounds and Ian is not only his dearest friend and lover, but also Billy’s manager. Ian and Billy are still wonderful characters and the chemistry between them is still there. There are also a few familiar minor characters readers will recognise even though this book is completely Ian and Billy.

After being together for 5 years, the very private lovers who both work within the cut throat business of Nashville face the scandal of being outed. This is where I was a bit non-plussed by the plot because it started as the guys trying to deal with the fall out (and doing admirably well, I also liked the touches of dialogues of when they went to LA to do some PR), and then we are faced with a blast from the past that isn’t so pleasant.

In the end, it’s nice to revisit the guys. Like the previous book, this isn’t the type of book that you sit back and psychoanalyse; simply enjoy it for what it is. The guys still have the sizzle between them and their characters are also relatable, despite one being a country singer super star. What else could we want other than two hot southern boys making their way together and through life? The drama also helps a lot as well.

Review: As we get older we realize things about ourselves that can be shocking. Sam sees the different relationship but the pure love between Greg, Chris and Liam. He realizes though he doesn’t really want two men he is ready to face facts he wants a real relationship. When he meets Hudson he finds out more and more about himself every time they are together.

This is a very good story about a man finding out  he likes to give over control at home to someone else. He deals with so much on a daily basis being a leader, he likes to submit and have trust in someone else. I find this highly relatable.

This story feels like two books in one since we start out with the ménage of Greg, Chris and Liam with the abduction of Liam by his family. This is where Sam comes in since he is FBI. They all become good friends. Then you have the story of Hudson and Sam’s new relationship.

There is a touch of angst and drama with the ongoing story of Liam’s parent’s and Liam’s emotional problems. There are lots and lots of hot sex. Just a little bit too much for me.

If you like FBI agents, angst, ménage and a lot of hot man-sex this is definitely for you.
