Review: This is a re-edited, re-release title. I have got to tell you this story had me from the first paragraph and kept it all the way to the end, but it is one bizarre story. It starts off with a bunch of robberies that are taking place when homes are getting tented for termites. There are a gang of robbers that are doing this. Somehow, Quinn and his partner get drawn into it. What he had not expected at the meeting was a man he had spent two hot days with two years ago to be walking in. A man who said he would call him when he got back to Las Angeles, but never did.

They are being told that most of the robberies are happening at night, which seems to be the way most robberies go. The only problem, which for him is one big problem and that, is he is afraid of the dark. He goes inside the house to stop them, only to find himself in another realm. Talk about strange but it gets even better. The realm is filled with hot men, men that want him. They give him an amazing time, the most incredible threesome of his life. Now all he has to do is figure out how to get back to it. Or so he thinks.

JD is a federal agent and the same man he had the amazing two nights with. He had always thought of him, always wondered why he had never called him. It wasn’t until one night when JD shows up that he realizes he might have another chance with the man who made his heart beat fast and his palms sweat, but what about the two men in the dark.

I loved this story. It has quite a twist to it, which will surprise you. It is just a bit weird though, however it is good. I would recommend this one because it has two hot and sexy lawmen, some crazy strangers, some hot sex, and a bit of danger to it. You will get a kick out of this one. It had me laughing throughout most of it. Who knew termites could bring people together.

Review: Aside from a plot about as deep as a puddle of lube, Deception is full of very poorly written erotic scenes that are a non-humorous parody of the BDSM lifestyle. Characters dialogue includes the main characters constantly referring to each other by first name, and then boss, and then sir, then master, then sir yes sir, it’s enough to make one’s head spin.

The erotic scenes are totally ruined by adolescent use of adjectives, I believe there is a contest to use as many for penis as possible. There are so many bad one-liners spewed back and forth during sex scenes I actually cringed. For example, “I’m going to come in you, boy. I’m going to blast you to kingdom come, motherfucker.” Boys response: “I’m ready for you, Sir. I need you to skewer me, to fill me with your seed, so I can worship you with my cream.”

Yeah, for those of you who enjoy the psychological aspects of BDSM, this book is not for you. For those who enjoy a good mystery/suspense with lots of clues, layering and foreshadowing, this book is not for you. And even if you just like straightforward literary porn to get the blood pumping, this book is not for you. Better luck next time.

Blurb: The vampires, serial killers, and shape-shifters in the three novellas in this companion volume to Horror Lite will drain the blood from your heart. Where it goes from there is no one’s business but your own.

“Val” — For years, Brad has been obsessed with the memory of his dead lover, Val. His obsession takes over his life when he meets another Val, a hustler who looks exactly like the first.

“Slasher” — A man is found in a cubicle at a gay bathhouse with his throat slit. Then another victim turns up. Only Lou’s lover, Jamie, can identify the most likely suspect.

“The Matador” — Soledad de Riquer feels certain that her brother, the celebrated matador El Valiente, has his eye on her young boyfriend, Adulio.

CONTENT ADVISORIES: This title contains subjects of rape or near rape, extreme violence, and sex in partially shifted form. “Val” is a re-edited, re-release story.

Review: The first story in this book is Val and damn it if I know what to make out of it. Sex! Everything revolved around sex. A creepy kind of sex that started from Brad’s obsession with his long dead ex-lover. Truly, it’s a fascination story the way it was told. Brad once had a lover, Val, and then they broke up, amicably. Years later, he stumbles upon him but this time Val is dying from AIDS. After his death Brad’s obsession begins and for years he vainly attempts to clone hustlers into his ex-lover, not the way he looked like when alive, but sick, pale, dying…

Creepy? You have no idea. Reading this brought shivers down my body, yet it’s not horror or anything like that. It’s simply the re-enacting a dead lover, the idea is skin crawling.

All this endless stream of hustlers takes an abrupt end when Brad stumbles upon a real double of Val. He looks just like him, but it’s no longer role-playing. The new hustler’s name is Val, he talks, walks, and does pretty much everything like the original Val. Somehow though, while they are having sex, something happens and reality merges with fantasy, the line blur, a dreamlike blend occurs and Brad end up making passionate love, animalistic even to this new Val. He no longer longs for what was lost, he simply want this new thing never to end.

And from that moment on there is sex on all forms, anything you can imagine (no kinks). The plot, if there even is one, completely revolves around the sex. The relationship Brad and Val share has nothing more. What contributes more to the creepy/unknown factor is that we never really get to understand who or what Val – this new one – is. There are hints that he is perhaps not a real person, but nothing concrete. Brad surly never figures out that there might be more to his Val, not even when surrounded at some point by dozens of Val’s clones.

As the story moves along – a good eighty pages – the feeling of the text changes from creepy to dreamy. I kept thinking that the character was dreaming everything that happened to him and he’d wake up any moment and bring us with him into a scary reality. No it didn’t happen so, but the end, the epilogue did leave me wondering what on earth happened and who the Hell was Val?

. It was weird and I kept expecting the vampires to come, but the slight relation to vampirism was Val’s supposed illness and that was not what I’d call horror/paranormal. So in the end I read a story that even though it made no sense to me at all, as I so no real purpose to it, I still somehow liked.

P.s.: There are some serious similes all through the text. No scratch that, the entire text was simile after simile, the most overwhelming of all was the horse/rider one. Interesting how I still can’t get some images off of my head.

Immediately follows the Slasher, a story that had a serial killer going after gay man. Lou is at the baths when the slasher first hits, leaving behind him a bloody room and the police trying to find out whom among the clients might have seen something. Jamie, one of the attendants, noticed someone suspicious and that marks the beginning of a hide and seek sick game. During the hours they spend, waiting to be questioned Lou and Jamie hit it off together and made plans for a future date. Two months later and they still haven’t made it so Lou starts searching for him. Apparently, he’s not the only one because the moment our pair reconnect the slasher makes an appearance as well killing yet another man right outside Jamie’s former work place. Convinced he’s being haunted by the slasher Jamie tries to survive, make a blossoming relationship work, and prove that the slasher is not a made up character of his imagination or drama.

This story is suspense and more or less not a bad one. However, the entire plot, connection with characters and intrigue were at a loss. The dialogues were stilting and quite boring, the chemistry between the pair was lacking and the intimate scenes between them didn’t appeal at all. The eroticism expected was missing and made the entire read drag, as there was nothing more to keep you interested. On top of that, we had Lou going in an instantly serious relationship with Jamie. One moment they are still relative strangers the next they’re moving in together. Their entire relationship was a bit surreal.

Plot-wise I didn’t see the reasons behind the attacks and stalking on Jamie. The villain was just a presence who took a face at the very end, but his intentions and the how’s/why’s were never explained. Overall, I didn’t quite enjoy this one.

Third and last story in this book is The Matador.

In this story, the plot is quite simple though again it drags on quite a while. Soledad lives in a world that is filled in bigotry. Her parents disown her for having not only lost her virginity, but also managed to get pregnant and secretly have an abortion. Her sins in their eyes are too great to have her in their home and with their other children.

Her only ties with her family now is her big brother Luis (the matador) and her bitterness shows a lot, because while she is disowned by her prude family, Luis who is gay is not and his little sin his overlooked because he’s famous and made a life for himself.

So even though she’s happy that she at least still has family to call her own, things slowly change when she introduces him to her lover Adulio.

Honestly, the story was not so very attracting. It took forever to reach to a point and when it did, it ended too quickly. There was a pattern on the dialogues with them dragging on and on while the two characters argue or find endless reasons to rebuke the other’s demands. It was the same on all three stories and made the text quite tiresome. You simply couldn’t get attached with any of the characters and the sense of depression was overbearing.

In the end, there was an abrupt merge with the paranormal in this story. The Shapeshifter seemed to come from nowhere. One could say that there were grounds to make this blend and put this idea to work, but after all that happened and after all that drama the paranormal addition left me thinking “what the Hell?” It could have been better exploited in my opinion, but in this case, it was just surreal.

Overall, this book didn’t meet with my expectations. I expected horror, dark, or light, but there was no such thing in none of the three stories. They were odd and weird sure, but nothing to make you scream or put them in the horror genre, therefore they failed for me.

Review: Well this one is definitely a little bit different from the ones that I normally read, however it was pretty good. I loved the mixture of cultures and characters. It has a great story line, one that has lots of humorous situations and serious ones. I loved the way Thomas and Jamie mix together.

Jamie just wanted to find his brother Rudy, but he wasn’t getting anywhere in Czech Republic. Everyone seemed scared of answering his questions. Then he came across two people who were not so nice. However, Thomas came to his rescue and was enticed by Jamie. It would seem Jamie could not be tranced and that was quite a catch among the vampires. Jamie loved his brother very much to the point of quitting his job and selling his home. He is genuine, caring, compassionate, and a bit quirky. He is cute as can be and has a heart of gold. Thomas is not only a vampire and a prince, but also pretty much a vampire cop. He was strict, tough, and very sexy. He had also decided that Jamie was his mate. The sex between them is hot, sensuous, and full of passion.

Rob is an amazing author who can give you a great mystical world. A world that you can lose yourself into when times get rough. The characters have their strengths and weaknesses that compliment the other person. The overcome the challenges that are set in front of them and come out winning. I loved the way it all came together. It was just not long enough for me to absolutely love, but it came pretty close.

Review: I hope that this is the start of a series because it was that good. I have always loved the paranormal and definitely wolf shifters. When you add in two very hot and sexy men, it gets even better. Rhiannon has a hit on her hands. She gave me a new world to lose myself in when things are getting to tough to deal with.

Lucas is one hell of a sexy cop and a werewolf, who just wants a mate. He has the mating symbol but won’t know till it has been completed. Catching a serial killer is on his mind, till Toby is sent to help. Toby is a FBI agent and very human, but he comes off as an alpha all his own. They not only hit it off, but Lucas knows in his heart that Toby is his mate. They have a connection that can’t be severed and the sex is hot. Their strengths and weaknesses complement each other.

This story was really good but the only problem I had was that it wasn’t long enough. I wanted to hear more about them and what is going on, but I can’t wait to read it again. It was really an amazing little story.

Blurb: When his Uncle Mortimer died and left him Hoxne Grange, the family’s Gilded Age mansion, Tristan Pryce became the second generation of Pryces to serve as a caretaker for the estate, a way station for spirits on their final steps to the afterlife. Tristan is prepared for challenges, though not necessarily from the ghosts he’s seen since childhood. Determined to establish Tristan’s insanity and gain access to his trust fund, his loving relatives hire Dr. Wolf Kincaid and his paranormal researchers, Hellsinger Investigations, to prove the Grange is not haunted.

Skeptic Wolf Kincaid has made it his life’s work to debunk the supernatural. After years of cons and fakes, he can’t wait to reveal the Grange’s ghostly activity is just badly leveled floorboards and a drafty old house. More than a few surprises await him at the Grange, including its prickly, reclusive owner. Tristan Pryce is much less insane and much more attractive than Wolf wants to admit, and when his team releases a ghostly serial killer on the Grange, Wolf is torn between his skepticism and protecting the man, he’s been sent to discredit.

Review: Its’ funny, its spooky, it’s mysterious and sexy! The strength and uniqueness of her characters is what keeps me coming back to Rhys Ford’s writing again and again. Ford is on my auto read list, and this title, the first in the new Hellsinger series does not disappoint! I can totally relate to, and love the quirkiness, talent, and intelligence of Tristan Pryce. While the arrogance, dominance and leap before looking mentality of Wolf compliments Tristan. The two at first seem like oil and water, but as the chaos and haunted shenanigans roll on we can see that the attraction is inevitable, more like fire and oil!

The secondary characters hold just as much interest to me, two of my favorites being Wolf’s mother and the dog. Yes, the ghost dog is one of my favorites in this spooctacular tale, especially when skeptical Wolf actually starts playing fetch with him! This highly entertaining book is full of horror, humor, supernatural events, and sprinkled with super sexy scenes between our two MC’s. Trying to prove that Tristan is a fake is quickly trying Wolf’s patience especially since he can’t deny he’s attracted to Pryce. Keeping his loyalties straight quickly becomes difficult. Fish and Ghosts is fast paced, and kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

I may have lost sleep, but it was so worth it and I can’t wait for the next book in this supernatural series!

Blurb: Getting calls from the dead in the middle of the night isn’t Oliver’s idea of fun…

Oliver gets calls from the dead, imploring him to help them find their killers. He’s heard them since he was a child and now assists the police in their investigations. He works closely with Detective Langham—and has steadily fallen more in love with him every day of the six months he’s known him. But does Langham feel the same? Is Langham even gay?

When Oliver answers the call of a dead woman, he finds himself standing in a remote field, gazing down at her corpse. Someone else is out there with him, though, watching, waiting to cause him harm. After he’s run off the road, Oliver has no choice but to aid Langham in finding her killer—no choice because more people are killed and more people call out to him…he’s unable to ignore their pleas.

As the body count grows and the investigation becomes more complex, Oliver realizes that Langham is indeed very gay—and out to make Oliver his.

Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of excessive violence which some readers might find upsetting, including kidnap and imprisonment of children with enforced drug taking, mutilation of other victims, extraction of a fetus and implied child sexual abuse.

Review: Oliver is called by the dead to find their killers and assists the police in locating dead bodies. His contact is Detective Langham, a man he has found himself falling in love with, but he doesn’t even know if Langham is gay. Oliver finds himself in the middle of a field after answering the call of a dead woman. Soon after, he is chased and driven off the road and Oliver knows it is the killer. Langham and Oliver work closer than ever before to track down the killer and the mystery of the sugar strands. As more bodies pile up, suspicion is rampant, and Langham makes his move. Making it clear to Oliver, just how gay he is.

This story has a great premise of a psychic helping the police solve murders. But I found it sadly lacking in some areas. Oliver goes when the voices call. He goes to the bodies of the recently murdered and he helps the police locate the killers. But this new murder hits closer to home, when he realizes he interrupted the killer. Oliver is also in love with his police contact, Langham. And it is an awkward dance, as the two finally change their relationship in the midst of the investigation. There is also the chase to catch the killer, as more people are murdered in brutal fashion. It is gory and bloody, and they discover that children are being experimented on.

The relationship between Langham and Oliver was confusing. At first, because they were constantly picking at each other and cursing each other out. I would not have called it a friendship at all. But, then Oliver explains it is just the way they are with each other. Their relationship heats up, as they work closely together and they track the leads. They face some homophobia from a fellow detective, but don’t let it affect what is developing between them. The one thing that got me more than anything was that we never learn Langham’s first name. Oliver only ever calls him Langham and even thinks of him that way …all the time. it made me feel the lack of real intimacy between them.

I really wanted to love this story, because the blurb pulled me right in, but I just couldn’t. The storyline and plot were pretty good with the mystery of the murders and who was behind it all. And the investigation into the murder/s was exciting and intriguing, but, (and this is where I vent like a teenager) I gather that the setting is in England. And while the author has done a fair job with the investigation, she should have watched reruns of The Bill (an old British cop show) or A Touch of Frost (British CID drama) to see the real workings of the ‘Detectives’ in England. (CID is the Criminal Investigation Department or Coppers in Disguise, LOL)

I will recommend this to those who don’t have a clue about British police, who love psychics and murder investigations, love mystery and mayhem, a relationship that is both frustrating and passionate, and a pretty good ending.

Blurb: Everyone enjoys peace and tranquility, and Victor Bayne is no exception. He goes to great lengths to maintain a harmonious home with his partner, Jacob. Although the cannery is huge, it’s grown difficult to avoid the elephant in the room…the elephant with the letters FPMP scrawled on its hide.

Once Jacob surrendered his PsyCop badge, he infiltrated the Federal Psychic Monitoring Program. In his typical restrained fashion, he hasn’t been sharing much about what he actually does behind its vigilantly guarded doors. And true to form, Vic hasn’t asked. In fact, he would prefer not to think about the FPMP at all, since he’s owed Director Dreyfuss an exorcism since their private flight to PsyTrain.

While Vic has successfully avoided FPMP entanglement for several months, now his debt has finally come due.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Vic is still stinging from Jacob taking a job at FPMP (Federal Psychic Monitoring Program) even if it is to find out just what is going on. Vic still wants nothing to do with Con and his program but he owes the man an exorcism and decides it is time to get it out-of-the-way. But, there are still some questions left unanswered from the Roger Burke fiasco and the puzzle of Dr. Chance’s demise and haunting and then there is the GhosTV, nothing is quite what it seems and Vic begins to .

Ah, Vic and Jacob, two exceptional humans who make it a joy to read the PsyCop series. While I enjoyed this story and had much entertainment while reading it, I couldn’t help feel like it was pretty directionless in its quest to wrap up loose ends. Vic decides it is time to do the exorcism that he owes Con Dreyfuss and then instead of just doing it and walking away from FPMP, he visits and then keeps going back and getting involved in finding out who the repeaters are before he exorcises them. He then gets pulled into Jacob’s case and he discovers he might have just misjudged Con all along, but maybe not misjudged the FPMP.

As I turned each page I was waiting for that spark that made PsyCop special but it just kept missing the mark, the story felt directionless, there wasn’t one thing to grab hold of and say ‘yep this is it’, there were several things that pulled your attention and you were never quite sure which was important and what was filler. Yes, some might say that they are interesting plot threads and are woven together brilliantly but unlike the other stories there doesn’t seem to be a main single thread to attach the others to, unless you count Vic dragging out an exorcism the main thread. Don’t get me wrong, I really did enjoy this story and yes I have had a good whine but I was really expecting more in the way of a gripping storyline like in the rest of PsyCops. Vic and Jacob are still great characters with both of them being relaxed in their relationship, Vic seems much more stable than before although he still has his moments and Vic is disillusioned by the court results of his arrests. Lisa is much more prominent in this story but even with knowing the background, I couldn’t quite understand why Vic and Jacob were so protective of her.

I recommend this if you love ghosts and psychics, wrapping up loose ends, beginning the move in a new direction and a very interesting story.

Well, we left Cowboys and Vampires as Balthazar snatched Dex from the Indian’s camp, now we rejoin Dex, Josh, and Glory as they try to find a way to reunite while in the midst of vampires, wolves and a town that is being destroyed. Dex is left facing Balthazar as the vampire tries to break him, his hope of rescue dwindling as Balthazar tries to twist his mind against Josh and seduce him to Balthazar’s needs. Josh is desperate to rescue Dex but he has many obstacles to face when the sheriff catches up with him and Glory and they are returned to Belkin’s Pass, convincing people of the danger is hard to do until they are faced with the horror that has overtaken the town. Glory discovers from her spirit guide that she holds the means to help Josh with the dead, and she still longs for those moments when her spirit guide protects her.

This is a wonderful continuation of Venom Valley that leaves you guessing what will happen as you turn the pages, will Dex succumb to Balthazar? Will Balthazar take that last bite? Will Josh ever convince anyone of the truth? Will they survive through the night? What will happen with Josh’s newfound attraction to the army Sergeant? Will they be able to rescue Dex? And just how will they go up against so many vampires and wolves? This story is brilliantly woven, leaving you guessing and trying to figure out yourself how they will pull it off, has you murmuring ‘resist Dex, resist Balthazar’ and has you wondering what will happen next. The characters really make this story great, the difficulties they face bringing out the best and, in some cases, the worst in them and making you vested in their survival.

I have to recommend this to those who love western historicals, dark vampires, desperate men and women, pulling together in times of survival, desperate loving and hope, and an ending that prepares you for the adventure still to come.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Mikhail is babysitting the last of the rescued children when they are attacked by Sirens; rescue comes from an unexpected source in the shape of a sexy dragon shifter Jin. Bob and Sam come back from dropping Mal off at her new school to find the bathroom destroyed and a new quest to undertake…. returning the little dragon shifter princess home and discovering who was behind her kidnapping. Jin is surprised to discover his mate is a vampire/siren hybrid, but Mikhail isn’t sure if he could be a dragons mate.

Dragon’s *sigh* I just love dragon’s, and this story is an excellent paranormal with a horrid new enemy. Mikhail is left in charge for only a short amount of time when Siren’s attack with the intention of snatching the last remaining child, Eliza, when Jin comes to the rescue they realize that a dragon must have been involved with the original kidnapping. Jin, Mikhail, Sam, and Bob along with Eliza head back to the Dragon Mountains to return Eliza to the safety of her father and to discover who would want to get rid of her. Mikhail and Jin also have to find out if their mating stands a chance, because Mikhail doesn’t have much hope of anyone really wanting a vampire/siren hybrid.

This story is a wonderful addition to the End Street Detective Agency continuing the kidnapped children/ siren storyline while weaving slightly darker elements into it to give us an exciting dangerous story. While we have met Mikhail in previous books, this book gives us insight into his life and you can’t help but admire him, as his past is unfolded. Jin is a very sexy new character who is also tough, but sweet and vulnerable at times. We see both men instantly connect but because of Mikhail’s mixed heritage, Mikhail doesn’t recognize, at first, that Jin is his mate. Jin is so understanding of Mikhail’s qualms and they really are a fantastic couple when they finally get it together.

The rest of the storyline reveals more than just the siren’s involvement and we discover that someone, who Jin thought was a good friend, is a traitor. We see Sam make an ill-advised deal in his desperation to save someone, and he is delightful in his worry for Mal. Bob and Sam’s relationship continues to develop and they are brilliant together in this story, as well as the support they show their friend. We also get an excellent ending with hints for the next case.

I recommend this to those who love brilliant paranormal investigations, danger and mad dragons, new storyline directions, great characters, incredible hot sex and a brilliant ending that leads us to the next book.

But when he arrives, he finds that the house looks nothing like the ad… and it’s haunted as well.

Review: Lenard has to make a fresh start after divorcing his wife, because her influential family hold grudges. So now he is starting anew in a small town and starting a new job on a rural police force, but he gets a surprise when he arrives at his new house and sees the condition is a bit more run down than he was led to believe, and his new colleagues inform him it is haunted. Lenard doesn’t believe in ghosts, but when unexplainable things keep happening, he begins to wonder about the man who is said to haunt it and begins to investigate. Jason Miller and his family are a mystery until Lenard keeps digging and discovers there were unexplained disappearances and deaths, and he begins to get answers from Jason’s ghost. As they join forces, they discover that not even death can conquer love.

This is a great haunting story that has some mystery and investigation, as well as a love that should be impossible. Lenard was royally screwed by his ex-wife and her family, he now has to move to a rural town just to get away from their influence, and he comes across a mystery that has been covered up for years. As Lenard begins to settle in, he discovers his new house is haunted and makes the decision to try to communicate with the ghost. Lenard also starts to discover just what happened all those years ago to Jason and his family and the deeper he digs the more he discovers the corruption and influence that have hovered over the town for many years.

I really enjoyed this story and the build-up of friendship between the ghost, Jason, and the detective, Lenard, the way it was drawn out from simple friendship to a romantic love over the course of the book. I also really liked how Jason developed from a ghost who could move objects, to a ghost who could appear solid and also travel to a small area around the house. Both threads are tied together and the progression was incredible. The mystery side was enthralling, Jason knew why he was murdered along with the rest of his family but as Lenard discovers finding the proof is hard, even with the help of his friend and colleague Ben helping.

This is a beautifully written story that weaves together an investigation and a haunting brilliantly, we also have a wonderful love story of the impossible, and it is threaded with just a touch of tension and danger. There are no on page sex scenes, but from the interaction of both Jason and Lenard, you know it is happening and their love shines through.

I recommend this to those who love ghosts and detectives, a mystery being solved, a man finally getting justice, an impossible love, and a brilliant ending.

Blurb: Former Marine Will Marlowe dreams of being a great classics scholar, but his subversive street art, Bad Toys, is what he does best. When he’s sent to London to retrieve Tommy Jones, what he’s really interested in is a chance to take Bad Toys global. He doesn’t expect cancer survivor Tommy to captivate him or to become the pet project of a real live—dead—author.

Meanwhile, Tommy is struggling to write a dissertation about Christopher Marlowe while conveniently ignoring the fact that he knows Marlowe didn’t die in 1593. And Marlowe’s ghost? He has an agenda all his own that seems to involve two parts mystery, one part romance.

Review: Will is finishing a degree when one of his professors asks him to go to England and retrieve his nephew as he was seriously ill and is now claiming to be able to talk to Christopher Marlowe.  He decides to go, but has no intention of dragging him back. Tommy is quite pleased to have a companion who doesn’t tell him he is mad and just lets him get on with his work.

This is an interesting story that is in parts mystery (what really happened to Marlowe), romance (Will & Tommy), paranormal (Marlowe’s ghost), comedy (bad toys) and a little bit of danger (fleeing England). It all comes together into a story that will hold your interest. Will is bitter, he is very bitter, he only joined the Corps for an education as it was his only option, but he came out scared and feeling used and abused by his Government.   He turns to Bad Toys as a form of expression. Tommy is trying desperately to find evidence that Marlowe lived and had fled the country to Germany in 1593, but he can find nothing to back his theory.

I think that both Will and Tommy needed each other.  They needed each other on a fundamental level that stopped both of them from falling into a pit that they wouldn’t have crawled out of. They had both been affected by something that they couldn’t control and delving into what happened to Marlowe and where he might have gone drew them both together.   Tommy was pulled out so he could stand back and see what was really before him and Will would drag him out to have some fun.   And Will would be dragged in so he could focus on something other than his cynicism and to stop him from stalling in his life.

I enjoyed the way that the author had Will and Tommy progressing in their relationship and that at least one of them acknowledged that maybe they were moving too fast, but that they didn’t care. The sex between them was hot but wasn’t prolific. I must say though that at times it felt a little high-brow.

So an enjoyable book that was well written in such a way as to keep your.   So, I will recommend this to those who like mystery, paranormal, comedy, anarchy and a love story that is a bit different.

Review:  I loved everything about this book. Fantastic character development, intrigue, suspense, three-dimensional secondary characters and a heartwarming love story.

Detective Matthew Bennett walks through life on auto pilot since the death of his partner (both on the force and in life) some 18 months ago. When the ghost of the murder victim of his current case appears to him, showing him where her body is, his homophobic boss flips and puts him on “administrative leave”. Matt confides in his best friend, sister-in-law Sheila, and she drags him (kicking and screaming mind you) to see psychic Kiernan Fitzpatrick. Matt is convinced the extremely attractive, short, black-haired enigma with the piercing blue eyes is full of shit. That is until Abby, the recently murdered little girl, convinces him otherwise.

The romance that blossoms between Matt and Kier takes the edge off the seriousness of the story. A little girl has been murdered and the department that has shunned Matt is hell-bent on convicting the wrong person. But Abby herself is determined to make sure her voice is heard, even if it is through Matt and Kiernan. They may not know who killed this beautiful little girl, but the killer knows who they are, and if they aren’t careful they could end up spending eternity with Abby.

I was completely enthralled in this book; I could not put it down. Whether it was the tough as nails detective Matt that came into this only believing what he could see, touch, and put a name too. Ultimately opening his mind, and heart to Kiernan, and Abby believe it or not. Or Kiernan, the hyperactive psychic with a larger than life personality and a closet full of shirts with colorful anecdotes and one-liners. The attraction is electric and the romance resounding as each man reflects on their painful pasts, thankfully realizing there could be happiness and hope in their future.

Abby damn near steal the show. With her stuffed unicorn, skittles, and a playful personality befitting a 6-year-old. Complete with temper tantrums she is quite the spry little spirit. I love the way Kiernan explains her. That she’s still just a scared little girl who can’t comprehend what has happened to her. In the end she proves to be an old soul with some very wise words for Matt.

I would recommend this book to any PNR fans. Yes it is ultimately an M/M PNR but, the sex (although wonderfully explicit and toe curling) doesn’t dominate the story. A VERY well written story about love, loss, hope and believing in something that is unexplainable.

Review: Richard is a vampire who works for the Immortal Police Squad (IPS). He also has his own club, Club Arrest. his partner in both ventures and casual lover is Caleb, a werewolf. When their handler dies, Richard suspects’ foul play, but no one will listen. When they are given a new handler, Christopher, Caleb and Richard are led into a trap. Someone inside the police force wants to get rid of them. Now, Caleb and Richard have to clear their names and capture the culprits and they have to rely on Christopher for support. But, Caleb becomes jealous and Richard has to examine his feelings before it’s too late.

This is a great paranormal story that combines the paranormal with police, and has cover-ups and police corruption. Richard is a pretty oblivious vampire. He has a casual lover in Caleb and he has sex with whoever he wishes and he never sees what it does to Caleb. Caleb does keep quiet about how he feels, but when Christopher comes into their lives he becomes jealous. But, they both have more important things to worry about when they are set up and Christopher is their only contact.

I did enjoy this story and how it was written. It’s a great storyline that involves sexy vampires, hunky werewolves and a sexy police lieutenant overcoming corrupt police and mobsters. There is plenty of hot sex both m/m and m/m/m and there is danger. But, there is also the realization of love. I must admit to wanting to learn more about the IPS and how it works, because the police work hand in hand with the IPS and know about the paranormals. There wasn’t any background on the IPS and very little on Caleb, other than what we learned from Richard. But, it is still an interesting book. While Richard’s and Caleb’s relationship is coming to fruition, the main storyline is focused on who killed their old handler and why, the set-up and finding the culprits.

I recommend this to those that love paranormal, danger, hot man on man loving, light BDSM, m/m/m hot sex, a good storyline, and a very hot ending.

Review: Hades (Aiden) doesn’t know what to do, his wife has just served him with divorce papers and kicked him out of the palace. His nephews and his friend, Charon (Karl), rally round to help pull him out of his misery. Tiberius (Ti) has fallen on hard times and lives on the streets, drink and depression plaguing him. Ti just wants a place to sleep undisturbed when a shambling figure disturbs him and Death finds him. Who would have thought that the God of the Dead would save a life?

This is a great story of new beginnings and discovering love, mystery and a new twist with the Greek Gods. Hades has to begin a new life in the human realm when his wife wants a divorce. With the help of his ever faithful ferryman, Charon, he is encouraged to take up a new profession as a Private Investigator. His first case catches his eye when he realizes that a string of murders must be connected and he begins to investigate. Coming across a young homeless man who witnesses the murder of another homeless man. Ti is just trying to keep out of the cold, he doesn’t know for sure what he saw, but he wakes up in a warm room with a man who says he wants to help him. Ti doesn’t know what to make of the gorgeous strange man and his scary looking friend, but he finally decides to stick around to help discover who is murdering homeless men and why.

I really loved this book with Hades as a wonderful character with a great love of dogs, Charon as a great friend and with Ti as the victim of circumstance who catches the eye of a lonely God. Hades and Ti’s relationship is a slowly progressing one. They offer each other comfort and friendship and then they take it to the next level with Hades willing to give it all up just to have Ti back. The mystery is interesting and leads to danger for Ti and has Hades calling his family for help.

It was really interesting to see how this story was woven, with Hades having to look back on his relationship with Persephone and seeing the truth of their relationship. It was really telling how Hades was more affected by the loss of Cerberus. How Hades has an instant protective instinct over the waif he finds in an alley and how he begins to open up towards the young man. Ti inadvertently seeing something he shouldn’t and now in grave danger and not even knowing it. The developing love between the two and the risks that are taken were excellent. All the characters are brilliantly written and wonderfully described. This is a great story for an afternoon of relaxation and enjoyment.

I have to recommend this to those who love updated Greek Gods, paranormal, mystery, finding love unexpectedly, new beginnings and a great ending.

Review: Jason has been on the run for years, ever since he lost everything that ever meant anything to him. Having settled in Las Vegas for the last couple of months, he is surprised to learn that the very man (Damos) who wants him dead is in Vegas under another name. But, Jason is sick of running and decides that his running days are over. Quinn is a private detective who lost his lover the year before, now he hides from life taking pleasure in being a thorn in the side of the man responsible for his lover’s death. Quinn takes Jason’s case with no clear plans on what to do, but Damos forces them to act.

Paranormal meets private investigator and crime boss, a great combination that gives us an interesting story. Quinn is still not over the loss of his lover, Liam, so when his spitting image walks through his door, he knows that whatever the case is, he will take it. Jason just wants a peaceful life without having to look over his shoulder. He will do anything to have a fresh start. But, he makes new discoveries when Quinn takes him to the ranch. Quinn and Jason both have to discover just what it is they want from each other as they grow closer. They face dangers untold when someone betrays them. But, getting to the bottom of what they feel for each other is nearly as difficult.

I really enjoyed this story and as usual because I rarely read the blurbs or the genre assigned (what can I say, I love surprises). I got the delightful twist halfway through the book that added a dark thrill to the main storyline. The story is wonderfully written with the unsureness of both MC’s feelings. does Jason really want Quinn or does he want him because he feels he has to? With Quinn we have to wonder if he really and truly wants Jason for himself or because he looks so much like Liam? Both these questions are answered quite plainly late on and thankfully Quinn is much more sensible than Jason. He makes Jason wait before giving in to sex (hot passionate sex).

The paranormal twist is great. I really enjoyed discovering, along with Jason, the paranormal world and the evil that hides there. The way that the storyline twists the crime boss and the paranormal world together was really well done and the way that surprises came out was good. I can’t help but want more from Quinn and Jason now that everything has been revealed. Imagine the cases they could work together.

I have to recommend this to those that love difficult beginnings, finding new love, paranormal twists, hot sex, great characters and a great storyline.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Section Thirteen is back and they have their hands full when an enemy from the past rears their ugly head. When a witch is murdered in a mundane way, Cole and James Corhagen are requested to assist in the hunt for the murderers. The odd clues lead them to a trap and Joss and the rest of Section Thirteen are called in to help. Facing down old adversary and the witch killers leads to new revelations. Cole struggles to deal with the now friendlier James, struggling to keep a handle on the still simmering attraction between them.

Oh my God Cole, what the hell are you doing Sidhe? So we have a new installment of the Section Thirteen Case Files filled with danger, surprises, twists and old enemies. Cole and Joss are moving forwards in their relationship, with Joss being to be a bit more open and relaxed more with Cole. James *scowl* suddenly becomes friendlier with Cole and makes a confession. On the work front, Joss and Cole are called by Rainette, who is worried about a witch friend and it leads to Cole and James being assigned to help look for the witch’s murderer. The entire Section group is called in when they spot three wanted half-fae and it leads to a confrontation where secrets are revealed.

So, we have a lot going on in this book and we revisit some old friends including the wood goblins and Robyn (Little Red Riding Hood). The police station takes another beating, James seems to be crawling out of the closet and a startling revelation is made. Oh and let’s not forget the orgy that Joss and Cole start in the middle of a fae bar. This is a great story that moves along at a smooth pace. There are moments when you can only recoil in horror at what Cole is about to do. *Cole, no, you’re smarter than that!!* And you want to grab him and shake him. With James, you want to laugh in his face and say ‘it’s too late’. and with Joss you want to stare at him in awe and go ‘oooohhhhhh’. The action and fights are impressive, the characters are brilliant and the storyline is cool. the new development that emerges near the end of the book has me desperate to see what happens next with both Joss and Cole.

I have to recommend this to those that love urban fantasy, danger, brilliant fights, traps and escapes, closure of an old storyline and a new one emerging, hot sex, new twists, betrayal and an ending where you wonder what Cole will do next.

Blurb: Jeremy Spencer never imagined the occult order he and his boyfriend, Bowyn, started as a joke in college would become an international organization with hundreds of followers. Now a professor with expertise in Renaissance music, Jeremy finds himself drawn back into the world of free love and ceremonial magick he’d left behind, and the old jealousies and hurt that separated him from Bowyn eight years ago seem almost insignificant.

Then Jeremy begins to wonder if the centuries-old score he’s been asked to transcribe hides something sinister. With each stanza, local birds flock to the old mansion, a mysterious fog descends upon the grounds, and bats swarm the temple dome. During a séance, the group receives a cryptic warning from the spirit realm. And as the music’s performance draws nearer, Jeremy realizes it may hold the key to incredible power—power somebody is willing to kill for.

Review: Jeremy is drawn back into the occult order he helped found many years ago. With the temptation of transcribing a score of Renaissance music never heard of before, he returns to a world and a lover he left behind. Re-entering a world of free love and occult magick, Jeremy begins to wonder if the score hides a dark purpose and can he really trust some of the people that surround him, when strange events begin to happen.

Well, this story takes you on a journey leading you down a path that many view as suspect and some view as cult. It shows us a side of the occult that many don’t look at; mixing music with magick and that’s where Jeremy comes in. Jeremy is contacted by his old lover, Bowyn, to help transcribe an old score said to be written by Ficino, a Renaissance scholar. A score that has never been published or transcribed before. The temptation is too much and Jeremy is pulled back into a world he walked away from. Jeremy still loves Bowyn and finds it difficult at times to remember why he walked away, but remembers when jealousy starts to creep in. Deciphering the score isn’t all that easy, but as Jeremy starts to piece together the music he discovers that it may not be as benign as he first thought.  and mysterious sinister events point to someone who is determined to perform the ritual at all costs.

I will be the first to hold my hands up and say that some of the details in this book flew over my head no matter how detailed the explanations were. Renaissance music, occult and alchemy might make a great background for a slightly sinister book, but having no grasp for even the basics made it harder to grasp the full details and intent of what the characters were hoping to achieve. But, saying that I still enjoyed this book. It’s very well written and draws you in as the story unfolds.  And it has suspense and mystery woven through, adding a sinister undertone. Although there is a basic relationship between Bowyn and Jeremy and they apparently love each other, they still have sex and fool around with others. I can’t actually say that they get a happily ever after, but it is a happily for them arrangement.

The mystery and suspense are good and leaves a thread of tension throughout the book. There’s death and betrayal, love and hope and occult dealings. I actually think this is an intriguing story that shows a ‘whiter’ or good side to the occult. It has informative information and you can see that the author has done a lot of research.

I will recommend this to those who love mystery and suspense, occult dealings, twists, betrayal, underhand dealings, murder and manipulation and a happy for them ending.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. When Sam and Bob go to the aid of Trawl, the troll, they discover that it isn’t only Shelby (Hart’s daughter) that has been taken.  they discover that many other paranormal children have been taken. Hart is desperate and turns to the demon, Dan, for help. It isn’t easy getting the demon on side though, because Hart broke his heart. But, the children have to come first, before Hart can make thinks right with his demon.

Whoop.  Well, I am just loving this series from Amber Kell and R.J. Scott. A human (?) PI getting dragged further into the paranormal world, no matter what he really wants and falling in love with a vampire named Bob.  I just love it! In this new addition to the series, we have not only Bob and Sam and their new shenanigans, but we also get more of Hart and we are introduced to his love interest, Danjal.  We also find out more about the missing paranormal child case and find out the truth about her disappearance.

Sam and Bob’s relationship seems to be moving forwards in leaps and bounds.  Even if Sam still does find Bob annoying.  Sam discovers he has more new powers, even if he tries to deny them and Sam also seems to have made a scary enemy. Hart gave up his love to do his duty by his pack.  But, now he turns to Dan in his hour of need.  Dan was hurt by Hart’s actions and words, but sets it aside to find Hart’s daughter.  They discover the backstabbing of some in the wolf pack and Hart has to face down an Alpha challenge.

This story is really well written and switches between the couples as they hunt for the children.  There’s danger, excitement, some great characters and just a touch of hot loving.  There’s betrayal and there’s forgiveness and then there is the mystery that is Sam. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.  Could there be a love interest for Mikhail?  Ohhh. Maybe for Teddy the ghost??!! I also hope we get to see Trawl again, because he seems like a lovable big lug.

I will recommend this to those who love paranormal PIs, vampires, hot demons and wolves, betrayal, danger and a great storyline with a happily ever after for a wolf and his mate.

Blurb: The very thought of paranormals is enough to drive Private Investigator Sam Enderson mad, but add in his attraction to a vampire, and his world is turned upside down.

Sam Enderson is a human detective who finds himself working for paranormal creatures, despite his resolve to stick with humans only.

Bob is a vampire and turns up on Sam’s doorstep to rent a room. Sparks fly, and Sam is attracted to the vampire in spite of himself.

Soon after Sam is cursed by a witch, two cases land on his desk. Dealing with werewolves, annoying ghosts and a grumpy gargoyle is bad enough. But somehow, in amongst all of this chaos, he has to find a lost fae and a missing shifter child.

Review: Sam has just inherited a detective agency from his recently deceased uncle. Sam has a five-year plan all laid out and there is no room in that plan for supernaturals’. Until a witch walks through his doors and a vampire wants to rent a room, and a fae triad (minus one) needs their third finding and a little werewolf girl is lost. Tossed in over his head he accepts (begrudgingly) the help of Bob, the vampire, Teddy, the ghost and Mikhail, the vampire/siren.

Oh, this is a delightful paranormal story of an everyday human *snort* being tossed into the supernatural world with a bang. Sam inherits a building that housed his beloved uncles’ detective agency; he decides to follow in his uncles footsteps and becomes a private investigator. But, his first prospective client isn’t happy with his work ethic and he discovers that his uncle had dodgy dealings. When Bob walks through his door asking to rent a room it throws Sam in a tailspin as he fights his attraction to the supernatural. But, he has cases to work which drag him further into the supernatural world and his plan of only dealing with humans goes out the window.

I really enjoyed this first story in the End Street Detective Agency and I am looking forward to more. We are introduced to an interesting array of characters and some very interesting cases that we delve into.  We see as Sam struggles with his attraction to Bob and as they come together, with Sam still not really understanding the depth of Bob’s feelings. The storyline is cool, the cupid curse was very interestingly carried out and the various paranormal we come across are great.  Sirens, Vampires, Werewolves, Gargoyles, Ghosts, Fae, Witches and a cat familiar, they all add that little spark of magic that makes this a great story.

I highly recommend this story to those that love supernatural and paranormal stories, hot vampires, a confused human in denial, great characters, a great case solved; hot sex and an ending that is left wide open and has you biting your lip against the urge to scream in frustration.
