Brian Christie, his best friend and touchstone, the one person who’s always truly seen him, plays sidekick on these madcap adventures and subsequent trips to the hospital until he can’t take it anymore. While Brian can see Varro, Varro has never caught on that he’s breaking his best friend’s heart.

Without Brian to balance him, Varro pushes harder and takes more risks to reach that ultimate high. Review: Brian Christie and Varro Dacien have been best friends since the day Brian watched Varro launch a homemade contraption off his roof and subsequently wind up in the hospital. That day set the stage for their lives moving forward.

Varro is the daredevil and Brian is his conscious. Best friends and foster brothers, the two were inseparable until Brian realized he was in love with Varro. While Brian tried to put distance between them, Varro continued to pull Brian closer all while tearing his heart in two with constant trysts with random women and groupies.

When Brian finally has enough and completely pulls away, both men are left in stasis, not really moving on and constantly thinking about each other, both too damn stubborn to do anything about it. There is nothing like a little competition to make a man admit his feelings, in abundance.

Calmes is the queen of sexy short stores, and Greg Tremblay is her court jester. The only reason I’m giving this one 4 instead of 5 stars was the pain in my ass miscommunication and stubborn resolve to forever wallow in self-pity, miserably that Brian wore like a badge of honor. I seriously wanted to snatch him up by his hair and slap him a couple of times.

I tell you what though; the conversation on the phone toward the end, Tremblay used some amazing vocal chops during that part of the story. He gave voice to every word and emotion and had me hanging off every syllable and frustrated groan. And who knew that Tremblay could pull of an Irish baroque?

Great story for fans of the author and narrator, angsty but fun and I think the last thirty minutes was my favorite part.

Blurb: Dallas Fox owns porn movie studio Wonderland and for him, sex is all about business. He hasn’t felt passion in a long time, so he is surprised when he develops an attraction for Johnny Roman, a college student who has recently become a porn actor for the studio, and Miguel Duarte, an office assistant. Dallas is even more surprised when he realizes they are as interested in him as they are in each other. Those attractions violate Dallas’s number one rule: no mixing business and pleasure.

Dallas slowly lets his guard down, and eventually winds up in bed with both Johnny and Miguel. Their painful backgrounds are similar, and they begin forging bonds that could grow into something much deeper. Miguel, however, faces a threat that could endanger them all and destroy any chance of finding the romance they want and need.

Review: A story about the owner of a porn production company with two of his employees – one an actor and one an office assistant – this is every bit as hot and sexy as one’s mind would conjure such a story to be.

Porn producer Dallas enjoys life but wouldn’t mind getting his shot at real love. Then there is Miguel he’s struggling for work and money but he grabs his opportunity to be an office assistant when he had actually gone to audition to be a porn actor. Then there is Johnny, the son a Baptist Deacon and engineering major at college, he does porn to make the money he needs to get by while he studies. So there you have it, three complex characters which need to come together and seriously do belong together.

And it is at this point comes biggest downfall of this story, because there is just too much going on. Each character has a brief explanation of a traumatic past or a horrible family, but there is just no way to appreciate the levity of it all when the plot is going along so fast. Beyond the guys getting together, Johnny faces problems with his family and Miguel faces problems from the murder of his roommate (Miguel’s family issues are in his back story, of course!).

At this point I’m just going to add the observation: there is the entirely too random appearance of a mob boss (who does serve a purpose) in the end but again, it was lost in all that was going on and ended up leaving me confused for a while. In between all this is Dallas, who is taking care of his men. There are lots of romance and lots of sex, but I don’t think the three little words were ever uttered.

In the end there is not only potential for a much longer story with these guys. Hell, this story could be expanded considerably into a very satisfying and hot both. But I also think that the chemistry between the guys, which explodes off the page, could also have a chance to breathe and develop further.

Nevertheless, this is an enjoyable book and a somewhat quick read. If you just want to indulge into some very sexy reading, this will do it for you. There is enough hot sex to leave you wanting more from these guys. I personally long to read a happily-ever-after for Dallas, Miguel and Johnny.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

Wow, this book had a lot of drama and angst going on. Matt’s history is rough to read about. He really did not have a good childhood at all. Because of that he has issues left over. Together he and Ingor have founds ways to deal with them. That includes a pretty much 24/7 BDSM relationship.

Things are going good for them up until Matt has a fall and suffers from a traumatic brain injury. That is when things start going seriously wacky. So much goes on and certain things happen that leave me confused and a little befuddled. Basically I was wondering how the hell these things even went down. Suffice to say I was pulled out of the book.

Things do finally get back on track with the relationship between Matt and Ingor. I really do like the relationship these two have. It is BDSM, but there is a great deal of love and caring to it.

I enjoyed a good part of the book. However the drama and angst with Matt’s past coming back to get him was a little much for me. It just did not feel needed with all the other things going on. It was also nice to see the other characters from the past two books show up and take part.

So overall it was an OK read and I still look forward to more in the series.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order.

I really enjoyed this book. It was mostly fun and amusing to read.
Guy has such wicked sense of humor and hijinks. He gets into so much trouble with the things he does and just by opening his mouth.
Aric is cute and tends to be scared of his own shadow in the start. Honestly the way he deals with learning about the paranormal world is pretty funny. He has not had the best life, but he makes the most of it.

Bannock is the older more straight-laced type. He has been leading his tribe and raising his children. When finds out his has two mates he is not at first sure, but Guy and Aric definitely bring something to his life he was missing.

The three of them are very sexy and hot together. Their love scenes were on the burning side, just as I like them.

All three of them are completely different personality wise, but they manage to make it all work. And I love this series for that. The relationships are always interesting, the characters are a little wacky, and the sex is always hot.

I enjoyed this book a lot and look forward to more in the series.

Review: This book is part of a series and should be read in order. Also this is a spin-off of the Blaecleah Brothers series and takes place in the same town with characters from that series showing up.

Artie has had a rough life. He has been on his own since he was fifteen years old. His mother is a drug addict, and his stepfather is abusive. He was safer on his own. At least until his stepfather used Artie as a means to pay off a drug debt. And that is how Artie winds up bound in a trunk. This is also how he meets Dorian.

Dorian is a good guy playing a bad guy. He has been undercover for years. When he sees Artie in the trunk he knows he cannot leave him there. So Dorian takes a chance and takes Arite. But there is something about Artie and Dorian cannot get him off his mind. Even if he knows it would be the best thing for Artie.

This book moved fast. There is an instant and intense attraction between Dorian and Artie. The sex is hot and steamy. This two have a definite rollercoaster ride to their happily ever after. There is drama, betrayal, violence, and overall love.

There was also a surprise visit from some old friends. I loved seeing the guys from the Special Operations series again.
Overall a fast paced and high-octane read.

Blurb: Wendell Blackowl has spent all his life in the working cow horse show ring where toiling with sweaty cowboys all day is the fodder for wet dreams. Though privately he’s come to terms with his sexuality, publicly Dell’s had to build a façade. When his beloved horse Buttermilk dies, Dell finds himself at loose ends so he decides to pick himself up by his boot straps and do what he’s always wanted to do… open an environmentally friendly organic vegetarian café.

Pace Avila, well-known music critic, has been drawn to Austin by the live music scene. When friends invite him to check out a fresh new dinner experience, Pace reluctantly agrees to push the deadline on his national column. He isn’t interested in vegetarian food or a restaurant with the cheesy name of Buttermilk Ranch Café, but the moment Pace lays eyes on the stunning cowboy chef, things begin looking up.

When openly gay Pace walks into his cafe and his life, Dell realizes he’s tired of living a lie and tired of being alone. When Mother Nature throws an unprecedented storm at Austin, the muddy waters threaten to wipe out everything Dell’s worked so hard to build.

He soon realizes that with a man like Pace by his side, love really can conquer all.

Review: Wendell Blackowl is ready for a new start in life. He has had a very good run on the working cow horse circuit but with the loss of his mare Buttermilk, he is ready to move on to his next dream. He is also tired of hiding his true self and if he could meet the right man he would have no problems coming out.

On the anniversary party of opening his dream restaurant, he meets Pace, the half-brother of one of his cowboy friends, Branch.
Pace is unlike any man he has ever met. He is flamboyant, confident and has no problem going after what he wants. What he wants is the sexy cowboy chef Branch introduced him.

First of all I need to warn you this story has lots of sex. Very explicit sex. If you are a fan of Patricia Logan as I am you already know this, if not be forewarned. Though I prefer tamer sexual content, sometimes you like to heat things up, and I know I can count on Patricia to do just that.

I love cowboys, and I love cooking so this blend was perfect for me. Make Dell Native American and Pace a dominant, flamboyant twink and you have a story made in heaven!

I will admit the story is a bit predictable but who cares. Sometimes predictable works, and it does here. There is some drama and near the end we get cameos from some characters from Invitation Only one of Patricia’s other series. I adored seeing Wade and Phoenix again as well as Maverick and Ricky.

I had only one small issue with the story. I felt their names were overused. It seems that Dell or Pace was in nearly every sentence, and it was a bit overwhelming other than that this story was amazing and one you didn’t want to put down once you started!
Buttermilk Ranch is a set-up for a new series, and I cannot wait for the next.

Former Navy SEAL Axel Blaze lives a solitary life. He doesn’t do emotions, and he doesn’t do babysitting. Used to being on his own, his job consists of Wetwork (a charming term coined by the KGB) for his former Master Chief, Mac. When an out-of-the-ordinary job lands on his doorstep, Axel heads down a path that includes a famous heavy metal rock band and one quiet, vulnerable, guitar-shredding virtuoso named Gareth Wolf.

Gareth Wolf’s life changed in an instant when a car he was a passenger in crashed, hurting his brother’s best friend and the band’s lead guitarist. They created the band, Skull Blasters, as kids. Gareth had always been happy in the background, playing roadie. With the lead guitarist’s injury, Gareth is suddenly thrust into the limelight and into a frenzied life he never imagined for himself. Finally fed up with living a lie, Gareth comes out as gay in a newspaper interview and finds himself in the bulls-eye of a crazed stalker. Somebody wants Gareth hurt – or worse – and Mac has been hired to be sure that doesn’t happen. Babysitting duty is NOT Axel’s strong suit, but Mac won’t be budged.

Enter Axel Blaze. Against his better judgment, the big man takes the job to protect the shy musician. The more time he spends with Gareth Wolf, the more he admires the man. Where’s a simple assassination when you need one? The situation becomes more volatile for each man as the attempts on Gareth escalate just as Axel finds himself falling for the quiet lead guitarist.

Strong, funny, smart-ass — and kinda sweet Axel is everything Gareth has ever wanted in a man. Too bad he’s off limits. As the stalker grows bolder, Gareth and Axel move closer emotionally – but is it too late? All Axel knows is that they don’t stand a chance if he can’t find the maniac trying to kill the man he’s come to care about. A  lot.

Everyone knows that relationships that begin in pressured or volatile situations eventually fizzle out.

Or do they?

Blurb: Locked-down at a Los Angeles intervention facility, everyone around Dante Dupont and his Black Ice band mate, Ashton Lane, thought this would fix the issues between them. Dante and Ashton knew differently. What made this a hundred times worse was the fact they were stuck in this room together. They hadn’t shared space like this since the one afternoon they both wanted to forget. And, revisiting that nightmare was not an option . . . with or without the help of a therapist.

Two musicians. Same band. Afraid to admit their true feelings, being in close quarters again has them both at their breaking point. They say if you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, but neither of them can find a reason to leave, and fighting the fire is becoming more and more difficult to do.

Dante’s baggage isn’t pretty and his scars run deep, but Ashton might be the one to finally see beyond his past and help him find a way out from the smoke screen he’s spent his life hiding behind. In order to get there, though, they’ll both have to walk through the flames.

Review: This is the 6th book in a series that must be read in order.
At the end of ‘Meant for Me’ we saw the extent of the hatred Dante and Ashton carried for each other. But, sometimes the journey from enemies to lovers can be a life changing experience. That’s what is about to happen to Dante and Ashton.

Stuck in rehab for their severe anger management issues by their boss, Dagger, Dante and Ashton have to face some traumatic events from their pasts in an effort to move forward and develop a more symbiotic working relationship. They are both stubborn to a fault, and to spite their mutual attraction to each other, they fight it to breaking point.

Dante was violated as a youth by someone close to him and the scars on his psyche run deep. He can’t get past it because he refuses to talk about it, much less deal with it. If he can’t find a way to overcome that hurt and pain, he will never be able to be the man he wants to be for Ashton.

Ashton is younger and has a hair-trigger temper. He also has horrid communication skills, unless you count yelling, jumping to conclusions and throwing things as a communication skill. He wants Dante in the worst kind of way, but getting what he wants would require him to bend and flow, and it will take a lot of convincing for that to happen.

Volatile doesn’t even begin to describe their relationship. For every two steps forward, they seem to take ten backwards. Neither of them is the best at talking about their feelings on a good day. Add to the already tenuous situation misunderstandings, ghosts of the past and a crazy stalker and what you have is a recipe for disaster. These two will have to find a way to channel all their hurt, frustration and anger into something more positive if they stand a chance at a relationship. Not to mention the mass of broken things they leave in their wake.

There is nothing better than a frenemies story that blossoms into an electric love story. What I found that I enjoyed the most about Dante and Ashton, aside from the earth-shaking fucking sex they had, was the way they had to grow together and learn to do things they weren’t necessarily comfortable with in order to preserve their love for one another.

There were a lot of ups and downs, one minute Dante would be fucking Ashton into the mattress while Ashton shouted enthusiastically at the top of his lungs, and the next they would be trying to beat the living shit out of each other for sometimes no apparent reason. It was emotional, volatile and amazing.

If you like the Assassin/Shifter series by SGD, specifically the insane love affair of Devon Lyons and Andre Panchenko, you are going to be so engrossed in this book; this Devon and Andre on fucking steroids. I was literally on the edge of my seat the entire time I was reading.

There were a couple of times I wanted to lock them in a room and bang their stubborn heads together, until I realized, Dagger already did that. You also get a nice surprise at the end of the book, one that fans will be jumping for joy over.

Definitely a must read series, but please read them in order, you’ll lose a lot in translation if you don’t.

Review: This was the first book I have read by this author and was quite surprised. I looked at the title first and though that it sounded good. Then I looked at the cover and was given a different look at the story. It doesn’t actually give you a good picture of the story itself. So the cover threw me off a bit. Then I read the blurb and thought that it would be a good story to get lost in.

What threw me the most with this story was the fact that Jake was not attracted to Damien the way one would think. He is in fact asexual. So not knowing really what that meant, made for me the story a little off. Jake is interested in getting to know him, but he doesn’t want him the way one would think.

Damien on the other hand wants Jake really bad. He wants to not only get to know him, but be with him. He is even willing to try to give Jake the time he would need. Though the whole story just seemed off because of it all.

I was fascinated to find out about asexuals and all of the stigma that seemed to go with it, but for me it was a drag. I want a love story with more desires, passion in all sorts of parts, and actually showing it. There is not a lot of heat for me. Although I was glad when Jake found out more about what he was, what to call his feelings. I don’t even know how to put that without sounding wrong.

This author has always given a story that captivates you and keeps your attention. For me however it didn’t actually give me what I wanted in a story. I was a bit lost throughout it all, and realized what I liked more and what I didn’t like about it. The characters however were beautifully written and you can tell that they have big hearts.

In fact you can tell that the author took his time and wrote with all his feelings for the story. For me that made it a lot more attractive, then those who just write for the pay. The story was written to captivate the readers and keep their attention. I would definitely recommend it to others.

Blurb: Terrence Bottom wants to change the world. A prelaw student at Columbia University majoring in political science, his interests range from opposing the draft and the war in Vietnam, to civil rights for gays, to anything to do with Cameron McKenzie. Terrence notices the rugged blond hanging around the Stonewall Inn, but the handsome man—and rumored Mafia hustler—rebuffs his smiles and winks.

Cameron McKenzie dropped out of college and left tiny Paris, Kentucky after the death of the grandmother who raised him, dreaming of an acting career on Broadway. Although he claims to be straight, he becomes a prostitute to make ends meet. Now the Mafia is using him to entrap men for extortion schemes, he is in way over his head, and he can’t see a way out—at least not a way that doesn’t involve a swim to the bottom of the Hudson in a pair of cement flippers.

Cameron is left with a choice: endanger both their lives by telling Terrence everything or walk away from the only man he ever loved. The Mafia hustler and the student activist want to find a way to stay together, but first they need to find a way to stay alive.

Review: I was a bit disappointed in this story. I had expected it to be more holiday and happiness considering the title and it is listed as a holiday story. However it comes off a bit dark in my opinion. It comes off as historical at times which is another setback for me.

I have only learned about Stonewall from a few others, so the history is a bit difficult to hear about. This is however the first book that I have read by this author, so I didn’t really know what I was getting into. The cover didn’t clue me in and neither did the title. I should admit though that I choose it without reading the blurb. So I was quite surprised by the story itself.

Terrence is a prelaw student who thinks he can change the world. He however has the hots for a man who has a dark secret if not several. He is about to find out just how true the rumors about Cameron are.

Cameron had left his home after the death of his grandmother, dropped out of college and pretended to be something he isn’t. Then he does something really stupid to survive, he becomes a prostitute.

On top of that he had caught the eye of the mob. They wanted to use him, to bring others down. He is in trouble, and the only way to keep Terrence safe is to tell him what he is getting into. That or run for his life. These two are in trouble big time, but damn they are hot together.

I was disappointed in the whole of the story. I don’t much care for the past or historical, and then I do the future. To top it off I wasn’t born when the true act happened, and have only heard about it once or twice from others. So I don’t have a clue what happened back then so it is lost on me. However to know how far we have come, compared to then is amazing. I just hope we keep growing.

The story itself is written with heart and soul, and is an amazing gift to many. I would definitely recommend reading it. It just wasn’t for me, but even though that is the case, I recognized a talent with this author and look forward to hearing more about Michael.

Blurb: You don’t greet your new boss dressed like an underage rent boy. But when Jack Horwood—ace hacker and ex-MI6 operative—opens the door to Gareth Flynn, he’s too busy to worry over details like that. And anyway, his potential new boss is his former commanding officer – the same guy Jack has had a crush on since he was seventeen. So he should understand, right?

When he applied for the job in Nancarrow Mining’s corporate security division, Jack had hoped for peaceful days repelling cyber-attacks. Maybe a bit of corporate espionage on the side. His plans didn’t include rescuing abused children, hunting pimps, or dealing with his overly protective and hot-as-hell boss, Gareth Flynn.

Walking away is not an option. Jack never takes the easy way out. More than that, meeting Gareth raises old ghosts that Jack needs to put to rest. Rescuing kids. Taking risks. Saving the day. Jack can do all that—but deciding what to do about his attraction to Gareth isn’t the sort of cloak-and-dagger game Jack plays well.

Yet Gareth, strong and smart and always on hand when needed, might be Jack’s salvation.

Review: This was the first book I have read by this author and was quite surprised. I must admit that if it wasn’t for the blurb I would have probably passed it by. The title is just a bit stiff for me and didn’t catch my attention. The blurb for the book however did. I mean sexy men who carry guns. Damn it is hot.

Jack worked for MI6 but now he is just an ace hacker who has a job to do. He needs a job I should say, but he is a bit off on it all. The one man who had turned him the hell on, is in fact the man who he would work for. He just didn’t know what the job entailed all the way around.

He would be working on the computers at a security division, but it wasn’t exactly what he expected. He had thought on the computer, time to rest, not really hard, but boy does he find out that it is not what he thought. He is saving children, catching the evils and avoiding his boss. The same boss he has the hots for, and has wanted since he was a teen.

Gareth knows he wants Jack working for him. He plans on keeping it a hands on type of job also. Now he just has to get Jack to work the way he wants or should I say play. These two are a hot combination.

This book was fun to read and damn hot. Just reading it set my sheets on fire. The tension, the heat, the passion, the fire between these two is mind-blowing. There was a bit of time in the story that made it to slow, but there are a lot of things that make this book amazing. You get all of the above, plus action, excitement and ass kicking.

I will definitely be looking for more by this amazing author. I had fun and would definitely recommend it.

Review: This is a new author for me, but I must admit that it was pretty damn good. I was amazed that an author that usually writes MF stories can write a MM book as well as she did. It actually turned out better than I had thought. My problem was that I had not read any of the other books however I don’t really read MF books any longer, so it was my fault.

It starts out with Hunter and his girlfriend, which almost had me changing my mind about reading it. I always try to skip over parts that involve anything female. However I kept on knowing that in the end it would be a story that would have my attention. During their time trying to deal with the weddings, she sends him to Dallas. He goes there to get away from it all. Then he walks into where he sees Devon once more.

Devon is not so sure about any of it, since Hunter is engaged. However he can’t turn the man down. The memories of their past time together comes back full force. He hasn’t forgotten the man, and it turns out that Hunter hasn’t forgotten either.

It is a bit confusing though, but it doesn’t take away from the story itself. I wasn’t sure whether to cry or laugh though. There is a lot of depth to the story and the characters are well written with a lot of heart. In fact you can usually tell when a writer writes for the readers or for money and this author definitely had the readers in heart.

I was captivated with it and look forward to seeing more stories from this author. I just hope that there are many more male on male romance stories coming our way.

Review: Anders last relationship with a colleague turned bad, not only did he move out, he moved to Alaska and started a new life there. He loves his new job and colleagues. Even though the sexy native has caught his eye, he tries to keep things platonic. Until he finds himself facing death in an earthquake and realizing life is too short.

Ujaruk was hurt in a past relationship being used by an under-grad. He likes his job and finds himself very attracted to the sexy red-headed Anders but is afraid to have his heartbroken, but is heart-ache scarier than a deadly earthquake?

I really loved this story. There was a good build up, we knew Anders past from the prologue and found out more back story later from both Anders and Ujaruk. There is a bit of mystery about the mine, and the Earthquake plays a big part in the story.

I would have liked to know more about what they were looking for in the mine and why the other men were there. Other than that the story was fantastic. Just enough back-story, romance and sexual tension.

If you like natural disasters, geologists, slow building relationships, not a lot of sex and a sweet, romantic story, this is for you

Review: When Noah sees Lennie in the Dusty Hat Bar on his 21st birthday the idea of revenge on Lennie father did come to mind. Only fleetingly. Once he got up-close and spent a few minutes talking to the sexy young man, he found him interesting, sexy and just his type.

Lennie has always liked Noah and was sorry for the way his dad treated the sexy cowboy. Now that Lennie is 21 he wants to get to know the man in more ways than one. The trouble is both men are in the closet. Will they stay that way or will true love bring them out in the open?

The Dust Hat Bar a very sweet story. The relationship and story move fast; the sex is moderate but very sensual and hot. Though both men knew each other before it is still kind of insta-love, but it fits the story line well. I found the characters charming and interesting, the plot though predictable was good and the end I enjoyed.

All in all this is a good quick read if you like cowboys, insta-love, fast-moving storylines and moderate man-sex.

Werewolves of Brooklyn

by

Brad Vance

Darien Mackey wasn’t looking for an adventure. For ten years, he’d been happy living in Brooklyn, working as a butcher in the same job, living in the same apartment, dating some “nothing-special” guys. Until one night his buddy Jacob talked him into taking ayahuasca, the soul-changing drug. And Darien had a vision…of a wolf, its all-too-human eyes on him, its paws on his chest, its enquiring mind in his own…

Darien Mackey is changing. He’s more confident, more assertive, hungrier, hornier. And his world is changing around him – his job, his home, his beloved Mechanic’s Library all falling victim to the predations of unscrupulous developers, bent on demolishing the old Brooklyn he loves and replacing it with a forest of condos. But he’s no longer a passive observer of his own life, and as this thing, this power, grows inside of him, he resolves to fight back, to preserve the way of life he loves.

And he’s not alone in the fight. The Lipsius Preservation Society of Brooklyn stands ready to assist in the battle, even though it seems like a bit of a joke to Darien, with its King and its Duke, Marquess, Earl and Viscount.

But there’s nothing funny about his growing attraction to Albeus Finley, King of this mysterious Court. And when slumlords and condo-mongers start to die mysterious, violent deaths at the hands of savage animals, Darien begins to realize that something is afoot in Brooklyn – something supernatural.

And it’s afoot in him, too…
