Review: This is the seventh book in the Bear Mountain series.

This book made me several emotions, sorrow at what had been done to Gideon, Abram and Garren by a demented man hell-bent on controlling everything. Anger at what these two were made to do and happiness at what they found after everything clears.

I could not believe the lengths this man went to achieve his goal. Murder, deceit, mayhem, slavery are just a few. It was heartbreaking to read of so many who suffered because one man. I was so glad when Abraham and Gideon were taken out of that situation so they could help do what was needed to be done so there could be justice for so many wronged.

It was a powerful book that packed a punch and keeps the reader reading until the very end.

Fantastic addition to the Bear Mountain series and highly recommended.

Blurb: Being the Terran ambassador assigned to Kenistal, the Demon home world, is not a particularly easy posting. Caris Dealyn wants nothing more than to get this assignment done so he can continue searching for his missing Avanti friends. But first, he needs to solve the mystery surrounding the last ambassador’s disappearance, while navigating the Demon court with all its whisperings of plots and betrayals.

It’s not such a bad job, if he could keep his attention on work and not on the prince who seems to distract him just by being near.

Prince Dasalin Kan’erkit is busy running the kingdom in his father’s absence, but not so busy he doesn’t notice the new Ambassador. Caris gets under his skin like no one else before, which is quite a feat considering Dasa’s demonically tough scales.

The attraction between them is undeniable, and when events throw them together, sparks fly. They can’t get enough of each other. But there are forces at work that wish to keep them apart.

In a fight for their survival, the two must figure out which demonic faction is behind the plot and protect not only themselves, but the people they have both vowed to serve.

Review: Every once in a while you come across a story that you wish you could rate higher than a five and this is one of them. It is the first book by Hannah that I have read and I can say that she will be on my automatic buy list from this day forward. The worlds she creates were so damn real it felt like I was not only there but on the ship with them.

The characters were not only fully developed but the details were perfect. I have to admit the cover is what caught my attention first. The demon on the cover is well let’s just say it hot.

Then the title was a bit quirky because I couldn’t figure out the dream part but it definitely had me wanting more than just a taste. I got a chance at looking at the blurb and I knew that I had to read it. I can honestly say that I am glad that I did.

All I can say is wow.

Caris is the ambassador of Terran, sent to work with the demon home world. He has been fighting his attraction to the Prince and let’s just say he becomes a bit of a klutz when he is around. Thanks to a demon bound on pounding him in to the ground, the prince has finally made a move.

Dasa is a very strong demon and the prince of his people. Who knew a small little human would have him doing the jig. He was falling fast for this man. However with the problems he is finding not only on his own world but around them is starting to be a major problem.

Caris is trying to locate his friends who have been missing and once he has done that, his ship is intercepted. To save his new friends, he must take chances. Wow this is going to get his ass not only spanked hard but well. There are so many plots going on and the betrayal is showing up that they need to protect the ones they love.

This story has a lot of twists and turns to it that I couldn’t figure out what was going to happen next. It had me on the edge of my seat just trying to see what was happening. It caught my attention from the start and kept it all the way to the end. I absolutely loved this story and can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Review: Yay for us Gray, Jack, and Mason fans! They are back and hotter than ever! Gray is now a detective and the public face of the department, which he hates. Gray is a big, tough, growly bear of a man, so, this was a bit funny and awesome at the same time.

We also get a bit of Gray’s past. We get to see through Gray’s tough police officer, and strong Dom, almost unreal, personality and see the man there. And WHAT A MAN! (You can probably see I am a big Gray fangirl!)

The story is scorching hot. If you have read any of Silvia Violet, you know what I mean. There is sex scene after sex scene, but there is also an action plot…this is a case that has Gray rattled, and an emotional plot—Gray worrying about losing his men by not showing his feelings enough.

Though I think that is rubbish, he shows them plenty how much he loves them. (Here I go again singing Gray’s praise!) I couldn’t put it down once I started!

I thought the plot was good. It had lots of action and kept me on the edge of my seat, was a bit morbid, though. I also adore Mason and Jack, and the scenes of them were amazing.

Now for the sex. Going Deep is a ménage story. Jack Mason and Gray are committed to each other. Menage and threesomes aren’t my favorite, but I would fight to read Silvia Violet’s. She has a way of showing each man’s feelings, showing a relationship of any kind takes work, and each scene is unique and doesn’t get tiresome.

Going Deep is a series and does need to be read in order, at least, the first book, so you know who the characters are and how they got to be a threesome.

If you like ménage, spanking, D/s, bondage, other kinks, police officers, detectives, firefighters, bartenders, sexy bears, fetishes, a great romance and some scorching hot man-sex, then this is for you.

Review: I have read one or two books by this author and she definitely has a flare at telling a story. I thought that the cover was refreshing and the title cute. Then I read the blurb and was just a bit apprehensive, because what I wanted was a true love story. This has a good way going, but the ending was a bit of a disappointment for me. It doesn’t leave you hanging, but in a way it tells me that there might just be a second book coming out. Which for me is a downside, don’t mind series, but not when it is about the same couple. Guess I will see what Deanna does later.

Paul is a forty-eight year old gay man who wants someone for himself. The thing with him is he doesn’t want marriage but does want the man. He is going to open another gallery but decides since he is going to do so, he might see if there is someone to hook up with. So he uses the one that he had used for his best friend. He was surprised to find Josef and was very pleased.

Josef runs a hot exotic bar for gay men in the Caribbean. Lots of hot sex and some kinky times, but he has a secret on the side. When he meets Paul it is instant lust. Things heat up but the past has a way of showing up and kicking you in the ass.

There were a few issues I had with the story that doesn’t sit well for me. I don’t like drugs and when they are mentioned in a story I usually avoid the rest of the book. It didn’t really take away from the story, but I am afraid my attention wavered quite a bit.

However that is just me, the story itself was pretty damn good. It shows sexy men that have a softer side to them and for me that is a plus.

It was a fun read and I would definitely like to see what other stories this author has out. I would recommend reading this cute little story.

Review: NOTE: This is a Police procedural and not a romance.

Grace is a female police officer whose past hasn’t always been the best. She has many friends on the force and isn’t out. She meets Amya the new chaplain and her life personal life changes. Will this affect t her job?

For me, the story starts out a bit slow as each chapter is basically a day by day accounting of her day at work. Sometimes minute by minute, move by move. I felt the description was a bit too much at times.

Now having said that. This is a pretty good beginning of a series. I really liked Graces character, and I think that was the saving Grace to this story (pun intended). There are some good stories in her daily tales that are heartwarming and show how concerned and caring Grace is.

I would have liked more of her relationship with Amya and Grace and more about how she met Crystal and their friendship as well. I guess I am saying I would have liked more of her personal life.

The ending was quite a dramatic and wow was I am not expecting that! I have to read the next one now, for sure!

Review: This is certainly a different book from any that I’ve read before and it is also the first that I’ve read by Jillian Snyder. Going by both the plot and the writing style I’m definitely interested in reading more by Jillian Snyder, the story was fun and quirky and the characters are well-developed throughout the story.

The story follows Jake Parker, he is a clairvoyant who owns and runs his own mystic shop in Boston. He inherited his gift from his grandmother, who he is really close to and she is just a delight whenever she pops into the story. He also has a sister, Laney, who we rarely hear from, as well as his super adorable nephew, Riley. One night, Eric, walks into his shop and with the ghost/spirit of Andrew, Eric turns Jake’s life upside down. Eric also just happens to hot and one of the most popular authors in the world.

The story is simple enough. The main mystery is really about why Andrew is hanging around after death and also Eric getting over the death of Andrew. The author does try to inject so unnecessary mystery about Andrew’s motives.I only say unnecessary because it didn’t really feel like it fit the rest of the book’s tone.

The story isn’t so much about Eric’s grief, but about all the questions that had been left unanswered by Andrew’s premature death and how his actions had impacted on Eric and a handful of other people.

The guys really work well together and while there aren’t firework type sparks between them, the attraction and sexual tension between Eric and Jake is great.

All in all, this a fun story for anyone who likes to dabble in the occult and mediums and all those kind of things.

Review: Each book in the Crossroads collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Every once in a while there is a story that even though it is funny as hell, it hides a darker side to it. This is one of those stories. Each guy has felt more than just a bit of heartache and pain. They try to work around it, but they don’t really do anything but cover it up. They focus on the past and never understand that their future is depending on the choices you make. Whether it is sex or something harsher, it just covers your scars.

This story like I hinted is full of humor but there is that serious tone underneath and I absolutely thought that this author pulled it all out. The words just flowed off the pages and made it come alive for me. What made it more interesting is remembering how Nick and Bryce had met Rod.

How they came into his store and how Rod made it more fun. They knew that there was something hidden inside of Rod that made him act like he is always happy. Every time he was in pain or wanted to change something he brought up sex. Which is what he did when he first met Landon.

Landon had left home as soon as he was able, never wanting to come back. However with his sister getting married he knew he would have to give it a chance. Especially since his sister was worried about their mother. His father and mother fought like cats and dogs, until his dad walked out never to come back. He felt like relationships were all going to turn out like his families. He felt like he would be abandoned once more.

Whereas Rod felt like he would never be able to be loved. His father had told him he was a disgusting man, and he felt it deep down to the core. Then they realize that they want each other, but it is fun to watch them figure it out. These two are hot.

This story felt real and the characters were friends that I knew. The words mean more in this story than most do. The power you can feel behind them. The story caught my attention and kept it all the way to the end. It was like I was right there with them going through it all. It came off very fluid throughout the whole story. It was fully developed and the descriptions were perfect.

I had a lot fun reading this and look forward to seeing Riley’s next story. The only complain I had was that there was no cover for me to look at, so that brought it down just a bit for me. (*Pixie shrugs* It was an ARC! **note to readers** Please share the cover of Shifting Gears with Lisa so she’ll stop pouting ~Pixie~). I wanted to see the guys and I was a bit disappointed that I didn’t get the chance.

However the story itself rocked for me and I would definitely recommend it.

Ryan wants more than a coveted position on SWAT. He wants to be owned by a strong Dominant. To give himself up to a Dom who will make him shudder with pleasure beneath a firm yet loving hand.

Unfortunately, Ryan has had nothing but failure in that part of his life. Now, he’s hidden that dream away from everyone, including himself. And he refuses to let anyone close enough to see what he truly desires, and who he truly is.

Detective Sam Roberts: Cool and calm, Detective Sam Roberts is good at reading people, during the day as a detective and at night as a Dom. He easily sees past the hard layer of arrogance surrounding Officer Ryan Bennett to the hurt submissive hiding beneath. He wants to help Ryan, even though the stubborn young man resists him.

But Sam isn’t one to back down from a challenge. He’s determined to help Ryan embrace the soft, giving nature of his submissive side. Using both a gentle hand and the sting of the whip, he’ll work to coax Ryan’s submission free. But what will Sam do if he’s successful? Let Ryan go as promised? Or give the young officer the very thing he’s wanted for so long?

The Detective’s Pleasure is Book Two in the Cuffs, Collars, and Love series and is the follow-up to the best-selling m/m romance, The Sergeant.

Review: Each book in the Cuffs, Collars and Love collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Christa shows how difficult the BDSM scene is if you really don’t know much about it. I have never really gotten into the BDSM scene but this story is amazing. It caught my attention from the moment I started eating and kept it all the way to the end. It gave me almost everything I could ask for in a story.

I had a few problems with the story that had me trying to figure things out. It didn’t really do the story justice. My main thing was the slapping, spanking yes but to slap someone is just wrong.

Ryan was a pain in the ass in the first book. He had been a sub for Logan and wanted to be his permanent sub, but Logan had chosen another. So he had done quite a bit to break them up and even outed them. All he wanted was to belong to someone. He is a strong cop but comes off weak to me. He whines about crap and pushes, kisses ass and that drove me nuts. However it is also shows me that he definitely needs to have a stronger partner.

Sam has watched Ryan break down to a point he knew he could help him. However he only wanted to help him, but he didn’t want him forever. Slowly through time though he changes his mind, but can he get Ryan to let go. I loved watching him win Ryan over.

Now like I said at first he didn’t want him forever and it made me wonder why Ryan would give him a chance. Ryan just wants to belong to someone so it didn’t make much sense to start with Sam. However I was glad that they both took a chance.

Christa is an amazing author and has a great gift at giving me a story that intrigues me and keeps me captivated. I loved the serious tone to it, but there is some humor in it but just a bit. I really enjoyed the story and can’t wait to see what is next.

I would definitely recommend this story especially if you love sexy men with a badge and a gun.

Gabriel Church is a portrait in contrast. It would be easy to get lost in his pale-blue eyes, ache with the need to feel the strength of his masculine frame. He appears to be nothing but animal and instinct. The only people who know the full depth of that truth are dead, murdered, or two thousand miles away.

Gabe is a serial killer. For the first time in his life, he has more on his mind than his own survival. This time he is running from Seattle to protect the only person he thinks innocent in his laundry list of crime and murder: Christian Maxwell, his biographer and unexpected lover.

Drawn to a place he never thought to return, Gabe finds new and different realities. Realities that insist he let go of his tragic past, those incredible perceptions of God, and his own divinity.

He must open his eyes to what the love of a good man can do to heal a broken soul.

Review: Just like the first book in this series, I found this one really hard to review. In fact, I’ve sat on my thoughts for a week trying to figure out what the hell to say. You can read my review of the first book, I really did not like Rubble and Wreckage and a lot of it came down to what I saw as fundamental in the plot.

However, I am a stubborn person, especially when it comes to my books. It’s rare that I dislike a book so much that I refuse to read the next book in the series, in the hopes that it has improved or picked up.

So yes, I gave this one a chance.

Torn and Frayed is a direct sequel from Rubble and Wreckage, so it is vital that you have read the first book. If you feel as I do – let your stubbornness guide you, although I found that because of much of what I saw as flaws in book 1 meant that they were also there in book 2. I called them fundamental flaws earlier, because it is the actual basis of the entire plot that I had trouble suspending my disbelief for.

In this installment, serial killer Gabriel Church isn’t so much on the run, but wandering around until he realizes that mentally he is on the run, but from his feelings. This seemed like it could be good; Gabe is realizing his humanity despite the fact there is something in him that means he cannot be like everyone else. After all, he is a sociopath that rationalizes each murder he’s committed without an ounce of remorse.

Once again, for me, I thought back to the Dexter series (books and TV, yes) and thinking about the “Dark Passenger”. The quote used in the blurb instantly sparked my interest because those two words flashed in my head. Perhaps it is my love for how that particular series was written (though, no, I realize Dexter did not have sex with men) and how it was handled that I cannot find myself really liking this series. I don’t know.

Then there is Christian. I have found him to be a hopelessly sad and naïve character. In fact, by the conclusion of this I wanted Christian not only get some sort of counseling but to find a decent guy who isn’t Gabe Church. His and Gabe’s relationship in this book isn’t so much a relationship as it is a series of hook ups.

By the end of the book there is no real conclusion on, in some ways, on this relationship. I didn’t ever expect a HEA but I just wanted something.

This book also had the addition of Detective Scott Keen – and his wife Carol. For me they were an interesting aspect in the story. Of course, it could be because they were new and exciting. For me that was the best part of the entire story. Yet, ultimately, at the same time, for me, it highlighted how naïve Christian is, when you think about it.

Like Rubble and Wreckage, this is described as an erotic romance. It isn’t. It isn’t really a “gay for you” story either, because Gabe, despite the fact he often meets up with Christian for sex, vehemently denies being gay – or bisexual. In fact, in the story he states that sleeping/trolling with women is easier than with gay men.

I feel like I’m in a minority for not liking this series, but there you go, that’s just my opinion, as much as it is worth. I’m not sure who to recommend it to but one thing is for certain: people looking for a romance probably will not like it. Gabe sleeping with Christian is just an incidental part of the plot, I feel.

Review: I came across Lyssa Samuels when she wrote her Royal Mates: Love’s Diamond series and I was fascinated with the world she created. So when I found out that this story was coming out I had to grab it.

The characters are so well detailed and fully developed that you will find yourself in love. The lives they had before they met was horrible and will have you wishing you could hold them close. I also loved the way the words just seemed to flow off the pages. Now I admit that I had not expected it to be so long but it was worth it. My attention was caught from the start and kept it all the way to the end.

Burke is the Alpha of his pack but it was pain that got him to wherehe is now. He and several wolves along with vampires had been captured, tortured and turned into slaves. They had an outside help, that they didn’t know about, to escape from their cages. They were very angry but when the goddess Lanay told them to help some men at first he was angry and refused, till he realized one was his mate. A man he had dreamed about.

Dane and his friends were held prisoner in Tuath. They were to be sold as sex slaves and breeders. They were a very special group for they could give their mates children. However the men that were to buy them were not their mates. He knew who his mate was and he wanted to get to him. So they needed to escape. Now he has to get to his mate and the future they have together.

Dane and his friends are a blessing in this story. A unique group that I have not read about in any other stories. When Dane and Burke get together they go through so much trying to understand each other. The love, anger, pain, fears and miscommunication is what you will always find in the perfect relationship because there is no such thing as perfect. There is also a large amount of magic that is different. I did love how they showed each other that no matter what happens they will always be together.

This is a very long story so I would suggest tucking your feet in and relaxing when you start to read. Because once you start you won’t be able to put the book down. It was perfect for me and I absolutely loved it.

I cannot wait to get started on the next book in this series. I would definitely recommend it.

Review: Ashley was about to get the shock of his life. He was a wolf shifter and mated to an alpha wolf. He had no clue about the wolf part but man Vaughan was hot. Now if he could just get used to it all. Vaughn had no clue why Ashley didn’t know he was a wolf but it doesn’t change anything, he wants his mate.

This was a fun book to read, but the ending wasn’t exactly perfect if you get my meaning. It seems that a lot was left out which explains why the book was so short. However it doesn’t take away from the story.

I loved it and can’t wait to read the next story.

Review: This is the third book in the Legend of the Silver Hunter series. It picks up where the second book left off. This book was awesome. It takes the reader on a journey where things are not as they appear and secrets are revealed.

Keiran and Cory are back again in this amazing story. I loved all the detail surrounding Beauty and the Beast as they were translated. Keiran’s determination to do away with the evil in the forest once and for all despite his nightmares was admirable.

Cory’s steadfast support of Keiran was touching as was Billy’s. I absolutely did not like the ebony mage and the beast. They were evil and didn’t care who they hurt to achieve their goals.

The battle scene was fierce. The plans and precautions taken were well thought out. I loved how Keiran dealt with his grandmother and the rest of the matriarchs. As I felt they were uncaring of what happened to other hunter candidates during their testing and did nothing to help.

All in all this was a fantastic story that I really enjoyed.

Review: This is the first book in the Rift series. Jason has always loved women. He becomes confused as to why he is having dreams of a man he has never met before. When he finally meets the mystery man he has his first encounter into self-discovery.

It seemed as though each encounter grew hotter and Jason felt more secure in who he really was. I liked the journey of discovery in Jason finding himself and the otherworldly aspect to it that added mystery.

It was a great book.

Review: Grein Murray is a new author for me and I have to say that this book hit my top five favorite stories. It was an amazing story that had me caught from the moment I started reading it. I wasn’t sure what was going to happen next, it was perfectly written and kept me well entertained. I do wish that it had been longer because it rocked.

Oliver’s parents were killed in an auto accident a year ago and he was having a hard time with everything. He was working and going to college at the same time so he was always busy it seemed. He was having a hard time making ends meet but he loved what he did. There was this man that had caught his eye, but Oliver was always nervous around him. There was just something about Amondo that called to him.

Amondo took care of the property his father owned and kept his hands clean of the rest of his father’s business. He was attracted to Oliver from the moment he saw him. He was just too damn nervous to ask him out. That was taken out of his hands the moment Oliver overheard Amondo’s father talking business outside the restaurant one night. It placed Oliver in Amondo’s family protection. It seems Amondo’s father has cupid’s job sometimes.

Now, at first when I realized that Amondo’s family were basically mobsters. I wasn’t sure what to expect from it. It definitely was not how it ended up. I had so much fun reading this and can’t wait to see what other stories this author has out. I do have to say that I hope that Randy and Dino get a story because those two would set the sheets on fire.

I definitely loved this book and would recommend it to all. It was a hit with me.

Review: I came across Felice not to long ago and have always loved the stories she writes. There is just something about them that you can see how much the author puts her love into them.

This story had a lot of depth to it which is surprising since it is not very long. I loved how the characters were written and the love they have flowing through each other. My attention was caught from the first word and kept till the very ending.

There are many things going on in Zach and Sam’s lives these days. Their planning a wedding and to make a future together. The problem is that they are holding a big secret from each other. They have to remember that they are now connected and secrets, whether good or bad, are not a wise thing.

I loved how Zach worries about his mother. It shows what kind of person he is. I also love that even though Sam worries about his age compared to Zach’s, Zach shows him that he is perfect. It is the perfect story for me and gave me all that I needed. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story.

I had a blast reading it and I can’t wait to read the next story.
