Blurb: Months after his mate broke his heart, Lich Sentinel Alaric is doing his best to put the pieces back together. His sentinels now belong to the Council of Sorcery and Shifters but it means little as the necromancers are determined to fight their freedom every step of the way. Their leader, Arch Lich Chander Daray, is the one person Alaric avoids at all costs. Despite Chander’s decision to end their matebond, Alaric cannot stomach the idea of signing their separation papers.

Arch Lich Chander Daray has never been more miserable. His mate is gone and Chander believes he’s been betrayed in the worst way. Thinking that he’s at rock bottom, he couldn’t have guessed there was more pain to come. The elder council demand his title be revoked and when they offer a petition signed by thousands of necromancers, Chander feels he has no choice but to resign. Now that his time is his own, he decides to push his magic to its limits. Once his mission is complete, he finds himself face to face with Alaric. Things between them are over, but Chander cannot help but express the love he feels for him. It brings them both to a precipice. Does Alaric have it in his heart to forgive all that Chander has done? Can either one of them move past the accusations and grow to trust again? Are they even willing to try?

Review: As with the other books in this series a lot is going on. Alaric is trying to live life after the unexpected way Chander left him. Secrets are slowly revealed that could threaten the council. Chander takes it upon himself to set the sentinel’s free and as a result he is in danger of loosing his leadership.

So much more happens in this riveting series. But I do have to say I am more intrigued by the four sentinel’s found secreted away in the sentinel compound than anything else. I have a suspicion that the black skeleton is either the first sentinel made or the sentinel that supposedly went on a rampage centuries before.

I really enjoyed the books in this series except for two things. One, they are long and drawn out and repetitive at times. Two, there is hardly any action in them. Aside from these things the books are awesome.

Great read.

Review: I loved this story about Chander and Alaric. So much happens that it made my head spin. The mysteries were spellbinding, the way the story progressed kept me engrossed to the very end.
I did have a problem with Chander continuously mentioning his mistakes and his subsequent behavior regarding said mistakes. I think he went overboard and it honestly became aggravating to me.

Alaric, I felt so bad for. I could not believe that a race would intentionally imprison another race for thousands of years, that they created then turn around and make sure they instilled fear and hatred for said race.

I was highly disturbed by the other races complete lack of empathy for the sentinels. The necromancers who started this should pay for what they have done in my opinion. Another thing that bothered me Chander’s decision to kick Alaric to the curb after seeing a picture of Alaric with another man. First off Sentinels have no urges till they meet their mate. Then afterwards they only want said mate so I was confused as to why Chander did not remember this. For all his smarts he seemed pretty stupid to me in that regard.

I loved that Alaric was determined to make sure his race gained their freedom from the very race who had imprisoned them. This story tugged on my heart strings and had me on the edge of my seat at other times. I am looking forward to seeing what else happens in this amazing series. Each book has brought to life each character and race and tied them all together in a complex yet satisfying storyline with twist and turns and evil villains.

Great read.

Review: The first 138 pages are about Coneley and Drystan’s meeting when they were younger, 17 and 19, and subsequent mating to the day they died. This part ends with the men as emperors and their death. I liked the details but felt it was drawn out too much as I kept thinking will we ever to get to the reason why the book is named what it is.

The next part begins after Latarian is killed, good riddance I say. I liked the look through Drystan and Conley lives. I felt that Drystan was too hard on Chand when his and Conley’s memories returned.

These two men were bigger than life before they were killed then resurrected. I found myself in awe of all they accomplished in their time period. I was devastated when their lives were taken by greedy Dukes.

I really like this series but still wish there were more action scenes in them.

Great read.

Review: This is an emotional drawn out story about Lorcan and Talfryn, Edion. Edion has no memory of who he is. He was kidnapped and spelled to change his appearance and his memories. Lorcan has spent a very long time thinking his mate left him. With nothing left to live for since the war decimated his kind he is set on vengeance.

I loved Edion’s story. My heart broke for the life that was stolen from him by evil people. I wanted to hold him and promise everything would be o.k. Going to live with D’Vaires was the best thing that happened to him as they cherished him and made sure he was safe.

Lorcan for his part was not at all nice to Edion when he meets him. He thinks Edion did the damage to himself and does not believe he has no memory. These two had an uphill battle. Once the spell was removed Talfryn had his hands full trying to convince Lorcan he did not leave him willingly.

Great story and I loved the fact the D’Vaires got four more members to their group. I really like the series.

Review: A lot happens throughout this book. Blodwen finally gets up the courage with the help of her mate and family, to summon her sentinel Gavrael. Gavreal after being confined for ninety seven years in what I would call a prison since he can not leave his room. I honestly did not and still do not understand why the sentinels are confined away from anyone, even their own kind as it was never revealed as to why. It seems cruel and inhumane.

Gavrael does not know how to communicate as it evident from the moment he appears. I felt so bad for him. He’s sorely lacking in social skills. Blodwen’s mate decides to summon his sentinel as well who ends up being Gavrael’s mate. The majority of the story is Gedoen being mad at Gavrael and Gavrael struggling not to piss his mate off.

Latarian is back and devises a plan to get power but is thwarted and finally dealt with like she should have been at the beginning. The D’Vaires gain two new members as result. Idris a warlock and Edion a Cwylld elf who has suffered greatly.

Though I liked the story I felt Gavrael and Gedoen’s back and forth to be annoying as it seemed too drawn out to me, not to mention the way the sentinel’s are confined. I found the actual information about the sentinel’s to be severely lacking in this book but hope there’s more information to be uncovered in future books.

Great read.

Review: Diego, Beck and Denise are friends but Beck and Denise work for a secret agency. Unable to tell Diego puts a strain on their relationship but they both try to cope the best they can.

I enjoyed the paranormal aspect of this story though it seemed brief at times.

We are given an introduction into Diego’s childhood and glimpses throughout his life. Which was nice to know about him in more detail but I wanted to know about Beck as well.

All in all it was a nice read that was enjoyable if not a bit drawn out at times.

Great read.
