The Library

(an Opposites series Novella)
by

T.M. Smith

Three gay couples run amuck in this short story where clothing, beds, even four walls are all optional!Want to know what happened that night in the library?

Cirian and Rian had a fight in the library and Rian ends up naked on the desk, on his back, at Cirian’s mercy.

Want to know how far things went with ice cream?

A romantic evening by the fire feeding his husband ice cream leads to a lot more than heavy petting for Aiyan and Kaden.

Want to know what was going on when those birds fled?

Travelling hundreds of miles, battling the rebels and then travelling back to House Gaeland will take it out of you. But when Tanis wants something, he takes it. Raven is about to be bent over a tree!

A Note from the Author: I’ve taken three scenes from Opposites that were cut short and elaborated on the shenanigans that ensued. I also focused more in the beginning on the relationship between Cirian and Rian, to give readers a chance to know them and their inner workings better.

**Warning, The Library is a novella set in the same world as Opposites. It’s an adult dystopian M/M novella that includes consenting and explicit sexual relationships between gay couples**

 Opposites 01
by

T.M. Smith

In the year 2081 our planet survived global warming of an apocalyptic scale. When the dust settled and the water receded Dr. Anthony Smith, one of only a few hundred survivors of GWI, started society anew. Having come to the conclusion that injudicious breeding played a huge role in the destruction of Earth as we knew it in the twenty first century, he worked closely with other survivors to isolate the Dionysus gene. This gene has the ability to manipulate human DNA to ensure that all male children be born gay, and all female children be born lesbians. A new society is born.In the year 2300 Dr. Smith’s descendants are ushering in the twenty fourth century having maintained control of the government that still rules society. Twins Aiya and Aiyan are preparing to meet their matches and take control of House Gaeland, the current ruling House. But not everything is as it seems.

Love is Love.. it knows no gender and doesn’t conform to restrictions and boundaries. Aiyan has found his soul mate in Kaden, the prince of House Devi that he is matched with and eventually marries. But when the person Aiya falls in love with tests the boundaries put in place after GWI, all hell breaks loose. And in the midst of one secret unraveling, another will emerge. There is a growing anomaly that threatens to destroy over two hundred years of progression. This anomaly is known as Opposites.

*WARNING* Opposites is a majorly M/M New Adult novel that contains explicit sexual content and relationships between gay, lesbian and straight couples.

Blurb: Cadet Dustin Ezerus is thrilled when he learns that his hero, intergalactic ambassador Praex Gallilu, is passing through the quadrant. Better yet, he’s stopping at the academy to offer a lecture and accept an honorary degree. Dustin wastes no time in getting himself appointed to show Ambassador Gallilu around. If things work out the way he hopes, he’ll be showing their distinguished guest more than just the academy’s architectural features.

What he has in mind involves a much more intimate introduction to the student body…or at least one body in particular!

Review: This is book two in this series and they should be read in order. It gives you an insight into their amazing world and the reason for why they do the things they do. I thought that this was a very good short story however I for one wished it was longer. It would have made an excellent story if it had been. I would love to know what happens when Dustin graduates and starts his career.

Dustin is a star cadet and has been fascinated by his hero. He had read about him from schoolbooks, learned about him from his older brother and just tried to learn as much as he could about Intergalactic Ambassador Praex. He had always wanted to meet him, well he wanted to do more to the man then just meet him but those are dreams or so he thought. He was asked by his teacher to be Praex’s assistant while he was there. His dreams didn’t even begin to be what he expected. Praex’s was gorgeous and very sexy. Praex’s also wanted him just as much as he wanted him.

This was a cute short story and I wanted to read more. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next story. It shows me it has great expectations. I can tell that it will be a great series.

I would recommend reading it especially if you love paranormal, aliens, futuristic, sexy men, excitement, and adventure.

Blurb: He was created to seduce you…and control you.

Adonis 011 knows nothing about his past or who he was before he became the gene-mutated sex god slash super soldier. After he escapes the lab he was “enhanced” in, he seeks out Jack Styles, the husband of one of the scientists who changed him. He has an important message to tell Jack. But after he sees Craig Styles, Jack’s brother, his mission suddenly gets complicated. He’s sexually attracted to Craig and can’t seem to get him out of his head. When the virus in him begins to take effect and his sexual desires and deep love for Craig escalate, he realizes he needs to mate with him to stop from turning into a rabid, killing machine.

Craig Styles thought he could get away from heartache when he paid his brother a visit. But when he meets sexy Adonis, who knows almost everything about him, he gets flustered. There’s something about this gorgeous, mysterious man who gets under his skin and has Craig wanting to kiss him.

Will they succumb to their growing feelings and sexual desires, or will Adonis turn into the monster he was genetically redesigned to become?

Review: I was fascinated with this story. It is the first book in this series and it really should be the first book you read. This story has a futuristic tone to it and shows you what life could be like. There had been a virus that made many sterile, but Jack and his wife had managed to have a son. His wife was a scientist who thought at first that she was helping the world but found out that what she was doing was in fact making super soldiers. She knew that it was wrong and died trying to turn it right.

Adonis was one of the super soldiers that they were making. She had died saving his life. She had managed to give him all of her memories and he had to find answers. He knew what was going on and what was going to happen but he didn’t know who he had been before they used him. He went in search of her husband to see if there were answers. What he had found also was Craig. Craig was Jack’s brother and a man that he wanted.

Craig wanted Adonis also and he knew there were questions that needed to be asked. However once he found out he wasn’t too sure he wanted to know. He did know that he wanted this man and would help him no matter what danger comes for them.

I loved this book and cannot wait to get my hands on the next one. The idea that the government can actually make super soldiers is fascinating. I love the way it brings out the strength in each man. Although what they go through is not so fascinating.

I would recommend reading this story. It gives you sexy men, crazy scientist, a hint of kink in the bedroom, a paranormal tone, excitement, action, passion and fire, hot sex and danger. It gave me that and so much more. There is just a hint of humor in the story but other than that it has a mystical way about it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. This story gave me what I needed. A little story to relax and enjoy.

Blurb: Undercover agent Alex Kley is a long way from home. Six months of investigation have brought him to Willow House, a high-class brothel on Omanai Station, as beautiful on the outside, as it is corrupt on the inside. Sold into sexual slavery to infiltrate an illegal prostitution ring, Alex must find the evidence he needs to bring down the leader of a powerful criminal cartel—a man who may not even be human.

Illythe, the manager of Willow House, is a long way from freedom. The jet-skinned beauty with the face of an angel walks the halls of Willow House with serenity and authority, but underneath his cold and beautiful facade, Illythe is as much a slave as any of the young men working in the brothel.

In an undercover operation, falling in love is the worst thing an agent can do, but Illythe is a mystery that Alex can’t resist.

It doesn’t take long for Alex to realize that Illythe is not in his role by choice. Yet Illythe holds the holds the information Alex needs. The more Alex learns, the clearer it becomes that when the cartel falls, Illythe will be buried in the rubble.

In the end, Alex must make a choice: save Illythe and forfeit the mission, or leave him behind in a place where willows won’t grow.

Review: There are, in my opinion, three kinds of books. Those that you read and forget or dislike the ones that leave no real impact on you. Then there’s the comfort category, the ones you read and love, that feel like coming home. But there are a few, a very few, that are higher than that. They challenge you, evoke emotions, and leave you marked. For me, Where Willows Won’t Grow is one of the third.

This was not an easy book to read, it was not pleasant at times, and there were moments I was certain that happy would be the furthest thing from possible for the characters. I was not reading, I was experiencing. Emoting. Swept away in an unblinking, no-holds-barred exploration of darkness and, by contrast, the faintest glimmer of light.

Alex Kley is not a good man. Working undercover in the Sex Crimes division of the Office of Federation Security, he did whatever he had to do for the case. A rich kid who’d found a practical application for a penchant for partying, casual sex, and the occasional exotic drug, his years with the department had started to wear on his soul. When an extremely dangerous mission comes up, one which another officer hadn’t come back from, Alex is sent far from the reach of backup to find the elusive head of a prostitution ring.

From the first paragraph, we are thrown into the spiraling sense of hopelessness and desperation. This is not a fluffy novel, nor is it the sweet kind of BDSM where there are safe words and fantasy. It has graphic rape scenes, strong allusions to childhood abuse, and more than a little violence. But there is a deftness to the way Lia Black handles every moment. Everything has a purpose. Nothing feels gratuitous even in the midst of the horror.

When Alex first sees Illythe, he thinks of him as a dark angel. And truly, that’s what he becomes. Illythe is a captured warrior prince, broken and molded into an obedient slave by truly one of the most grotesque and horrifying villains I’ve ever read. His backstory alone had my gut clenching; it makes you love the character more the more you realize the terror of his life.

Honestly, I don’t want to tell you about the plot. I want you to unpeel it, layer by layer, as I did. This was a story that I consumed in huge gulps, completely unable to look away from the page. I will tell you that it ends, as it should have, in a way that, looking back, is the only way it could have. I shed tears at a perfect moment at the end, realizing that the author had given me, and the character, resolution I hadn’t even known I craved.

I’ve never read Lia Black before. Trust me, I will again. This is a story that, in lesser hands, would have been wretched. There is no way anyone but a master could have pulled this kind of horror and darkness and twisted terror out and yet balanced it so gracefully with hope and light.

I loved this story. The fact that it is sitting free on Amazon rather than gracing bestseller shelves astounds me. This book will be staying with me for a very long time.

Review: This is book two in this series and they should be read in order. Each story has some of the characters in prior books and tells you about their story. The way they live their lives, the reason they do some of the things they do and what makes them they way they are. It is an amazing world that you will find yourself lost in. A world that will draw you in and have you falling in love. The characters are full heat and desire. I love the way they are told. It has such a serious tone but there is the hint of humor in it. I love this series, which is normal for me when it comes to the author. Lynn always gives me great stories to read. The characters have so much depth and detail that you will be captivated with them, and then you see the way they are with family and friends that you will want to hang with them. Then you see them with their mates and you will fall in love with them.

The Breed Assassins were kidnapped when they were just babies and raised in a military fashion. They were not touched nor loved, yet they grew up as best friends. It is twenty some odd years before they find out the truth of who they were and what they were. They were in fact brothers, cousins, and one who was raised in the family. All the time they were in the hole that they were raised in Thoran only wanted a mother’s love. So when they escape and find out that they are in fact royalty they set out to fix it all. Then Thoran finds out he has a little sister that had been kidnapped ten years ago. He is all set out to find her.

He ends in a place that he had remembered from five years ago. He had seen a man that he wanted with all of his heart. Only to find out that he had been sold to a brothel. Set out to save him, at first he treats him badly. Then he realizes that not all is as it seems. He must save Eaton.

Eaton didn’t understand why his family sold him. He had never once given the man any trouble, even willing to work hard to help pay the taxes that they owe. Then he is sold to the brothel. Once the owner finds out that, he is a virgin his intent is to sell him to the highest bidder. That didn’t turn out the way it was supposed to go, because the Breed Assassins save him. Then after a bit, they are mated.

This story is amazing and I absolutely loved it. I love the fact that the men can get pregnant in this story. It cracks me up to read it every time. This story gives you sexy men that are shape shifters, hot sex, passionate glances, feisty attitudes, quirky little mates, excitement, adventure, and dangerous situations. It gives you a twist that you will love. It captured my attention from the moment I opened the book and kept it all the way to the end. I would recommend reading this book because once you do you will find yourself in a world that will have you falling in love.

Bliss

by

Lisa Henry & Heidi Belleau

They’re always happy.

Rory James has worked hard all his life to become a citizen of the idyllic city-state of Beulah. Like every other kid born in the neighboring country of Tophet, he’s heard the stories: No crime or pollution. A house and food for everyone. It’s perfect, and Rory is finally getting a piece of it.

So is Tate Patterson. He’s from Tophet, too, but he’s not a legal immigrant; he snuck in as a thief. A city without crime seems like an easy score, until he crashes into Rory during a getaway and is arrested for assaulting a citizen. Instead of jail, Tate is enrolled in Beulah’s Rehabilitation through Restitution program. By living with and serving his victim for seven years, Tate will learn the human face of his crimes.

If it seems too good to be true, that’s because it is. Tate is fitted with a behavior-modifying chip that leaves him unable to disobey orders—any orders, no matter how dehumanizing. Worse, the chip prevents him from telling Rory, the one man in all of Beulah who might care about him, the truth: in a country without prisons, Tate is locked inside his own mind.

Blurb: Count Vladimir Dracul never suspected that the human he found hiding in his stables will change his life and the way he sees the world. But once he finds Béla, Vlad can’t give him up. Fighting prejudices against humans, a vampire Count wanting his blood donor back, and a threat from an old enemy seem like small battles compared to the one he has to fight to win Béla’s heart.

Béla was terrified of the vampire that found him and decided to keep him. His experience with vampires has never been good so he has no reason to trust Vlad, even if he wanted to. But when his former owner comes looking for him, Béla has to find the courage to save the one man who has come to mean more to him than his freedom.
With the help of a few crazy friends, a werewolf mob boss, and two insane brothers, Vlad and Béla just might have a chance at happiness…if the Ministry of Paranormal Affairs doesn’t get to them first.

Review: I have found a new favorite series. This is book one and they should all be read in order. When you put Stormy and Lynn together to write a book you have an amazing read. I love the worlds that they have designed. The characters are so beautiful in looks, attitude, and heart. You can’t help but fall in love with them. This story caught my attention from the very start and kept it all the way to the end.

Bela was what one calls a blood slave to a very nasty vampire. He had been physically hurt and didn’t even have a name. He was always known as boy. He finally manages to escape only to end up in another vampire coven. However, it took just a short time before he realized that Vlad had no intention to hurt him. He didn’t even want to feed or have sex with him unless Bela offered it because he wanted to.

Vlad notices a heart beat in the stables and goes in search of who had it. What he found didn’t even look like a human let alone smell like one. However once he got him in the bath and cut the tangles from his hair he realizes that it was not only a man but also a beautiful one. After finally getting him to talk, he realizes he doesn’t even have a name. So he names him Bela and starts to show him trust. What he couldn’t figure out is why Bela and his assistant went at it like cats and dogs. They were constantly fighting and it was quite a sight. His assistant was a vampire and Bela is a human, yet Iggy was scared of him. Now that will give you a great laugh.

Bela’s old owner hadn’t marked him so he has Bela branded so no one could get him. However, Upir wanted Bela back, but the reason shocks Vlad. However, he will do everything in his power not only to protect his mate but also to keep him. There are still a lot of dangers coming but at least they will be together.

I love the humor in this story. It is amazing. I have always loved the paranormal worlds and when you throw in hot men, it gets even better. I love the way Vlad is so tender and caring with Bela. I also love the names that they were given it was pretty awesome choices. It also kept me laughing throughout the whole story.

If you love the paranormal world, vampires, werewolves, little human’s, love, excitement and danger then this is the book for you.

A little something from M.J. O’SheaM.J. O'Shea - Dark Sun

Hi, this is M.J. O’Shea:)  I thought I’d give you a mini version of the soundtrack I made for Dark Sun and Rising Sun. I do this with every book. I can’t write with music on, but I usually listen to the playlist in my car and get into the  “mood” of the story and setting. This will be a combo of Dark Sun and the music I added for Rising Sun.

It wouldn’t be right to start with any other songs. The world itself came from a combination of Muse’s Assassin and Glorious. If you read Dark Sun and then come back and listen to these two songs, I think you’ll understand how it happened:)

Muse — Assassinhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YfRQXIJ3fEM

Muse —  Glorioushttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wplx6ScmDc0

The rest of these are just part of the sound I was going for for gritty New Seattle and are a mix of songs I chose for the first book and the second.

Metric — Artificial Nocturnehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmYRRcaQLno

Nine Inch Nails — Every Day is Exactly the Samehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x3K1t0669no

Late Night Alumni — In The Asheshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR8K24nuqss

Bastille — The Silencehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00p2FW7ZLVo

Decoder Ring — Beat the Twilighthttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GhDtWtY6T1s

M83 — Midnight Cityhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dX3k_QDnzHE

Civil Twilight — Letters From The Skyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bN4AgsNIYM

That’s all for this book! If you want to find more of my playlists, or excerpts from Rising Sun come visit my website and blog:)

About M.J.

I’m Mj O’Shea, author of erotic romance–well all sorts of romance actually, that’s just what’s been published so far!

I grew up, and still live, in sunny Washington state and while I love to visit other places, I can’t imagine calling anywhere else home.

I spent my childhood writing stories. Sometime in my early teens, the stories turned to romance. Most of those were about me, my friends, and our favorite tv stars. Hopefully, I’ve come a long way since then…

Right now, I have four books published through Republica Press (click on the link to visit their site), but I’m constantly working on new projects.

When I’m not writing, I love to play the piano and cook and paint pictures…and of course read. It’s nearly impossible to work on my own writing when I’ve gotten myself hooked into a great new book:) I like sparkly girly girl things, own at least twenty different colored headbands, and I have a little white dog with a ginger eye spot who sits with me when I write. Sometimes she comes up with ideas for me too…when she’s not napping.

Castor and Jaffa soon become involved in a plot to take the city back from the villainous triads. They find themselves fighting the people they thought were their leaders — and fighting an attraction stronger than either of them have felt before. Nothing is certain in their precarious new world: Life, death, friend, enemy, and the most uncertain thing of all…love.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Castor is worried when his cousin Lynx goes missing and his family cover it up, with his brother Pollux Castor sets out to find out what has really happened to Lynx and to see if there is any truth to the rumors that Lynx is with the thief Katana. Jaffa lives in Midtown, he steals to feed his two friends but a jaunt to Metrolevel Market finds him crossing paths with a member of the Dragon Triad who seems determined to turn him over to the police. Both Castor and Jaffa learn the truth of the Triad’s when Castor uses Jaffa to get to Katana… and now it is a fight for their life and their freedom.

This is a great story that has the corrupt Triad’s ruling a city with a small gang trying to free the city from the Triad’s grip. Castor and Jaffa come from completely different walks of life, Castor is a member of the ruling Dragon Triad and is used to the comforts in life, whereas Jaffa lives in a derelict building struggling to steal enough to eat. When these two men meet their attraction is slow building and very much in the background, they become friends and become close working together on the larger plot line. Their developing feelings for each other happen over the course of the book and yes it is very sweet, but the real progress comes late in the book.

The main storyline is of Castor, Jaffa, Pollux, Lynx, Orion, Cassiopeia (Orion’s sister) and various others work together to change life for all of New Seattle and to show the Triad’s in their true light. Now this part of the story is brilliant as we follow all the moves and risks that the gang take, it is beautifully woven as decisions are made and a revolution takes place. My only complaint was that Castor and Jaffa were pushed to the sideline as Orion, Lynx and Cassiopeia seemed to take over and pulled the focus away from Castor and Jaffa… it was still seen from their eyes but was focused on the revolution and what others were doing.

So a great story but it does lack in the developing of the relationship, yes we see the sideways glances and the small touches but a lot of it is lost as the focus moves outwards to everything else that is happening. I do admit that the gearing up of the revolution is very interesting and exciting and is pulled together brilliantly, it definitely steals the show. Now I warned at the beginning that you have to read Dark Sun first and the reason is that what happened in Dark Sun is essential to Rising Sun’s plot and storyline, if you don’t read the first book then you wander around in the dark trying to figure out what is going on and while some of it is explained it only clears the fog a bit.

I recommend this to those who love futuristic stories, MC’s with character, finding love in unexpected places, a great storyline, a fight for freedom and a wonderful ending.

Blurb: Four years ago, our world ended with the lightning fast spread of the wolfman plague. The lucky ones died. Men who survived became something from the Twilight Zone growing larger, stronger, and faster with better senses than we mere humans do. Oh, and aggressive? ‘Roid rage is nothing compared to these guys. They either wanted to kill it, fuck it or eat it, sometimes all three, and not in any particular order.

One of a few immune men, I live in a fortified compound with a couple dozen women, a bunch of kids and two asshole straight guys. Sounds like a man’s wet dream — unless you happen to be the last gay man standing. After a winter locked up with two guys I’ve got nothing in common with, a few dozen lonely women and about a dozen kids, I needed to get away. That’s how I ended up alone in that alley staring death in the face.

I expected to die, not find my future and someone to share it with. Not that it was all wine and roses what with angry wolfmen, militant women, and a threat none of us saw coming.

9647650Review: Book 1 Apocalypse (89 pages, November 1st, 2010) is the perfect beginning to this book. It shows so much strength the humans and in the wolf-men. I found myself enjoying this book a little more than the others. It had a way about it that intrigued me. Daniel is the only gay man in a group of two straight and a bunch of women and children. Fed up with everything at the camp, he goes to the city to get supplies. Mace on the other hand is the alpha of his pack. Pack or rabid is what was left from the disease that ravaged the land. The way Mace feels is tender at times and cold at others. The way Daniel is treated by the others made me just want to shoot them all. The plot is intriguing and surprising. I sat at the edge of my seat through the whole story waiting for the next shoe to drop. The sex is OMG hot. The sex from the others in the pack were wild and passion field with possessive streaks added in. However, the sex between Mace and Daniel is tender and caring. When they are among pack, Mace comes off as cold and not giving a damn which is hurting Daniel. Mace and Daniel actually come off more real to me, their desires and lust just hit you their attraction for each other just bounces off the pages right at you. You just know that they are going to steam the mirrors up when they get together.

10527841Book 2 Revelations (94 pages, February 2011) has turned out to be just as good as the first part. Mace lets Daniel know that what he is feeling is close to love. He wants him as his chosen and if he acts like he is mad well it wasn’t at Daniel but at himself. This story adds an intriguing mix into it. Some of Daniels group made it to the city to steal supplies and they get captured. Wanting to stop the killings of the wolf-men who are no danger, well unless you attack them, they try to come to compromise. It doesn’t work out that away but it is a start. This shows the strength of each character and also the fear that humans feel when they come across someone who is different than they are. In this part there is not as much sex in it but what is there is amazing. The need to protect each other shows so much in each one. There is a lot of anger and fear for the unknown but a lot of love and tenderness also.

11244706Book 3 Judgment (94 pages, July 4th, 2011) is about as hot as the first book. Mace and Daniel’s feelings are getting stronger and you just shiver when you read the hot spots. I think that the shivering is more about what you read between the lines though. You can tell that there is so much love between them even if they haven’t figured that part out. While they had been at Daniel’s old compound,

Mace’s pack had lost all formation and needed their alpha back. It seems with each story, more characters show up. Each one with a story of their own. Daniel’s strength has made a lot of headway in Mace’s pack.

12660097Book 4 Salvation (91 pages, September 16th, 2011) is exactly what it sounds like. Daniel’s salvation. Daniel has a past of so much pain and fear, that it is now coming out in full force. To know someone who has so much pain and fear makes me think deep and hard. Mace’s love for Daniel comes out in this story. This story alone makes me sit down on the floor and just re-read it over and over again. The feelings between each character is so strong that you think it would come out of the book and just grab you by the heart.

13037277Book 5 Genesis (94 pages November 10th, 2011) is as it sounds the comings to an end. Daniel and Mace’s love is coming out more and more with each day’s passing. The story line and plot make this story an excellent read. The characters just pop out at you with each read. I liked the characters. They were very realistic in the way they felt things. Their tender sides, the pain they felt and how protective they are of their families. They are overcoming such hard times, being changed from human to werewolf and not being able to stop it. They are fighting to keep their humanity and trying to save what is theirs. I think that this series is one hell of a great read and will love having it in my library so that I may re-read it when I want.

Blurb: When Nickolaus Brevin, the son of the highest ranking politician in the Protectorate, escapes into the city’s streets for temporary sanctuary from his father despite the danger, little does he anticipate being kidnapped by one of the rebel forces. Taken to their leader he foresees torture or death, not falling for the enigmatic Melic — a man who orders him to give the performance of his life, for his life. Not that the sexual encounter is exactly force when it brings long-denied desires alive.

What looks to be an act of humiliation is the only way Melic can think of staking a claim to the man he’s instantly recognized — a claim that may give both men what they seek, and make them feel whole by giving in to their natural inclinations.

Review: Nickolaus is the son of a high-ranking politician in the protectorate. He escapes into the night tired of his father’s views. He is kidnapped by the rebel forces and hopes they don’t know who he is. The leader of the forces Melic, sees something in him and gives him some orders some spoken some not. What Nickolaus chooses to do, could belief or death for them both.

I really liked this story. With it being so short the scene was very intriguing. I have to say I wold have loved to know more about the protectorate, and the Rebels, but there was enough information to get a good feel of the story and make you want more. It was very hot and sexy.

If you like futuristic worlds, public humiliation, some BDSM, Voyeurism and   some hot man-sex this is for you.

Review: As the world is dying the government come up with a plan for the human race to survive, the population sleeping in hibernation chambers deep underground as The Cultivator works above ground. When Glenton wakes up it is to horror, Glenton is saved by Aric but many others die, and when the dust settles there’s six young survivors who have to learn to survive long enough until the day the hatch opens and they can return to the surface. When Glenton turns eighteen, he has to try to understand his feelings for Aric, and just when he is coming to terms with his new relationship disaster strikes.

This is a great little story that is a touch YA, Coming of Age and futuristic sci-fi. Glenton wakes to chaos when the hibernation chambers are cut off, Aric, Rawn, Chazin, Gela, Enne are the only other survivors, and they have several more years before the surface is safe to live on. The six grow up clearing tunnels for when the hatches open, developing relationships with each other but when Glenton discovers that it is Aric that flips his switch, he doesn’t know what to do as boys should be with girls, shouldn’t they?

I really enjoyed this little story and loved the way that the story progressed, and the way it is set out and how we are left wondering until the very end just what really happened with the hibernation chambers. The developing relationship between Glenton and Aric is kinda sweet, Glenton has no clue that it is normal to be attracted to another male and they have a lot of hidden meeting places so they can be close. Their relationship is one that develops from friends to lovers and gets a touch hot under the collar as they experiment with each other.

I recommend this to those who love futuristic sci-fi, young guys coming together, hot encounters and a new beginning for the human race.

Blurb: Jack Corbet has been chosen, just not in the traditional way. When the Eoeans demand another sacrifice, the human government doesn’t want to give up one of their upstanding citizens. Though completely innocent, convicted felon Jack is pretty indifferent to being chosen as the aliens’ latest sacrifice. Arming himself with the hypothesis that Eoeans can’t be that bad, he steps willingly into the unknown.

Kelr, an Eoean diplomat, doesn’t really want a human. Being half Renka, he is disturbed by the touch of others and doesn’t want to risk becoming enamored with one. What he doesn’t count on is a human determined to have him, or the unexpected pleasure Jack’s touch brings him.

However, criminals are considered inferior goods to the alien government, and Jack might find himself in hot water well before he and Kelr are comfortable in their newfound relationship.

Review: This story is part of a series and although it can be read as a standalone, it is best enjoyed as part of the series. The government has decided to pull a fast one on the Eoeans when they demand an extra sacrifice. Jack is in prison serving a long sentence when he is told he is going to be a sacrifice, with no other real option he takes the government up on their offer and finds himself the property of an Eoean/Renka diplomat. Kelr doesn’t want a human, the touch and vibrations coming off others unsettle his Renka half and he doesn’t like the idea of owning a slave. What Kelr doesn’t count on though is the human’s determination to have a relationship with him and Kelr finds his defenses breaking down. But Eoean society looks down on criminals and when the Pressian’s start to make trouble Jack and Kelr could find themselves in hot water.

This story is a great addition to the Owned series as it expands the storyline of the Eoeans background. Jack is in prison for something he hasn’t done but he will gladly stay there to save the person he is protecting, but he is given an opportunity that he can’t really turn down. Kelr is pretty unique, he is half Renka so he can manipulate vibrations and change the resonance to something different but he is also half Eoean, which means he has the same urges, but touch is difficult for him. Jack discovers a way for them to still find pleasure but Kelr swears he will find someone for Jack to be full partners with, Jack doesn’t want that but Kelr is stubborn.

I really enjoyed this story, we discover more about the Eoeans position with the Pressian’s and the demands they are under, we see another human find soul resonance with their beloved alien and we see how they work through the problems they face. Their sexual escapades are extremely hot and I loved how they first tried to solve the touching problem. I also really liked that Kelr tried to do what was best for Jack before admitting defeat in the face of Jack’s need. Each story brings us a bit closer to understanding why the Eoeans want the humans, the soul resonance is one, but we also discover that the Pressian’s are demanding them as payment as well.

I have to recommend this to those who love science fiction, futuristic, alien loving, if they want red-hot sex, if they love humans who know what they want, if they want a great storyline with a developing twist and a great ending.

Blurb: Lust was only the spark…

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/bound-by-lust

Review: This story is part of a series and although it can be read as a standalone is best read in order. Keenan has been delivering the letters for the Eoean lottery for years and is one day shy of being ineligible for the lottery when he receives his own letter in his paycheck. Finding himself being pawed by horny scary aliens has him terrified and there is nothing he can do about it. Oco has made his wealth by being able to read others minds by touching them, it makes relationships and lovers impossible, and he is lonely. Visiting an auction has him making a rare find a being he can touch without reading them, he has to have the rare creature for his own, but he has fierce competition. Keenan and Oco have an instant attraction between them and no matter how much they want to be together they have the problem and they face fierce opposition.

This is a great addition to the Owned series where the human and alien have to fight and negotiate their way to a successful conclusion. Keenan is a great character who has had his own lonely life, working, as a letter deliverer doesn’t make him any friends. When he meets Oco, it isn’t in the best situation but getting to know him has him wishing that he could stay with Oco. Oco is intrigued by the human and is delighted to discover he can touch him, when Oco loses out to someone else he takes matters into his own hands and it isn’t long before Oco discovers soul resonance with Keenan.

I really enjoyed this story and was interested to see how working for lottery affected Keenan; the poor man didn’t have much of a life and longed for a relationship like the one his neighbors had. Oco is in much the same position; he’s alone because of his abilities and in Keenan finds someone he can relax with. Together they are especially hot and fit together perfectly, they only have to find a way to stay together. This is a well-written story that veers off from the D/s that we saw in Owned 1 & 3 to a more equal sexual experience without the dominance or submission coming to the fore.

I recommend this to those that love science fiction, hot sex, saving someone from a fate worse than death, escaping loneliness, finding true love in unexpected places and a great ending.

Review: The human race is now a race of soldiers sent out to fight wars for other races, as long as the price is right of course. Intelligence analyst Ilyan has predicted that those races are about to turn on Earth but High Command refuse to listen. Ilyan is forced to run and he is desperate to spread the truth so he goes to those who are on the ground, the soldiers who blindly follow orders of those that have betrayed humanity. Jadeth is one of those soldiers. Jadeth joins up with Ilyan and his small band when the unit he is with is caught up in shellfire, discovering Ilyan’s story he can’t believe the group of nutters are traveling in hostile territories spreading such an outlandish tale, until he remembers an exchange he saw years earlier. Now Jadeth is Ilyan’s guardian keeping the man safe so he can spread the story, but with High Command assassins chasing them, they both know that survival means keeping one foot ahead.

While this story isn’t M/M or a romance it does have, a kinda bromance feel to it as Jadeth gets to know Ilyan. Earth has produced soldiers for other races war for hundreds of years, churning out soldiers is humanities only commodity and they exploit it to the fullest. Ilyan has predicted where war will break out for years, always directing the High Command so they can negotiate a price but when he predicts war will be coming to Earth High Command doesn’t want to know, and Ilyan finds himself on the run spreading the word and dodging the assassins sent after him. Jadeth is just a simple grunt and when he runs across Ilyan’s group he decides to stick with them when he realizes what Ilyan says makes sense, protecting Ilyan becomes his mission and if High Command succeeds then humanity might just be in grave danger.

This is a brilliant science fiction story that has humans doing what they do best, fighting in wars. The storyline is very simple, intelligence agents predict where war will break out, High Command sends out its soldiers to fight for the side that will pay the most, but High Command has a secret, which Ilyan wants to tell everyone so they will believe when he tells them war is coming to Earth. Jadeth finds himself drawn to and protective of Ilyan, both men are straight but there is an undercurrent of admiration. This story carries you across worlds as they spread the truth, avoiding assassins and the High Command and dealing with petty jealousies but betrayal is heading their way and humanity will pay the price.

I recommend this if you love science fiction, futuristic, great characters, a brilliant story, and an ending that will blow you away.

Review: Vlatko is a hired assassin. He knows he is dying and is trying to find a cure, while hiding from the force he defected from the IUM. He likes his solitude on the primitive planet he is hiding on.

Rue is a thief and is trying to steal the secrets the Assassin has and doesn’t know he is being double-crossed by the IUM. He knows his life will be changing drastically after his first night on the island with the dangerous, but gorgeous man.

I found this a very interesting science fiction story. The planets are not complicated and overly weird. The story line is quite intriguing with a few interesting twists and turns, and there is lots and lots of hot mansex. The story is peppered in among the sex enough to make it interesting and romantic. I liked the contrast of the characters and the deep emotions. It is very good story of other worlds and intrigue. I would definitely read more!

Recommendation: If you like outsiders, thieves, assassins, people from other planets, true love, firebirds and lots of hot man-sex  with a good ending this is definitely for you.

When Micah is kidnapped, will Sashan find the strength to rescue his mate, discover what the City plans next for the Katrian people, and learn who the monstrous traitor is behind all their troubles? Most importantly, will a seemingly unworthy Beast finally find the redemption he seeks in the arms of his love?

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order. Sashan has stayed clear from the Katrian village out of shame, only going back when he has to or to check up on his mate Micah, the mate he feels deserves better. Micah has wanted Sashan for as long as he can remember, but the big Katria always avoids him, so now Micah decides to take fate into his own hands. When Micah is kidnapped and severely injured, Sashan has to face his fears and accept what fate has offered him.

This is a fantastic continuation of Outside The City, it begins 15years after the Dome has fallen and stays with the storyline of the Outsiders and the City Dwellers, and giving us added information about the truth behind the City. Micah has longed for Sashan since he realized he liked boys, now 21 his brother Lucah convinces him to provoke Sashan into a reaction, but it doesn’t work out as planned and Micah is kidnapped. Sashan has steered clear of Micah because he feels tainted by his past, when Micah is taken, he has to put aside his fears and claim Micah as his mate, having to trust in Micah not to turn from him. The kidnapping reveals a traitor in their midst’s and a secret that shakes the foundations of all the Outsiders.

I loved this story, not only do we get to see previous books characters; it also introduced new characters in the shape of the Wolfric shifters, and gives us a surprising twist near the end which opens us the storyline to the Wolfric shifters as well. Micah is a wonderful character who suffers greatly in this story; Sashan is the typical alpha male, thinking he is protecting those he loves with his distance, but both characters together can heal each other from their pasts. They are hot together, complement each other in personalities and troubled with their own fears but determined to do what is best for the other

I really enjoyed the storyline, plot and surprises thrown our way, I found the addition of the Wolfric clan wonderful and I think they complement the Katria wonderfully, I am hoping to see more of them in the future… maybe a story for Alpha Jethoro *pretty please*. This storyline has become more evolved which means that we can expect some more wonderful books in this series… at the least I expect Lucah’s and maybe Callum’s stories, with the hope of others **chants* Jethoro, Jethoro Jethoro*   .

I recommend this to those who love shifters, science fiction, surprise twists, hot sex, great characters, danger, soul-searching and a very happy ending that leaves us with a hint of the next book.

After they meet, a problem at the Facility sends them rushing back to the place Payne grew up to deal with the cleanup. Together, they will uncover all the secrets that have been festering for years and change the way Vessels are treated forever, all the while discovering that being born for pleasure doesn’t necessarily preclude falling in love.

Review: Payne is a Vessel, a person designed to be the perfect companion for just one person, he is nearing the end of his training and will soon be given to his owner, but Payne doesn’t want anyone claiming him especially after his hellish training and knowing that his owner only wants a mindless pet. But Payne’s match is nothing like he thought he would be and just as they are coming to an understanding, a problem at the Facility looks set to rip them apart. Alec has no idea about the real story behind Vessel’s, but when he receives his own as a present he rapidly learns that everything he thought he knew isn’t right and with his Vessel at his side he looks into setting things right.

This is a cool little novella that is set in the far future and has a little twist of shifter mating, but it also has a dark tinge to it that leaves lingering questions. Payne was created for Alec, his DNA was spliced with that of shifters to create the perfect mate, but not everything is wonderful in the Vessel world as brutal training and mind-altering practices ensure Vessel compliance. Alec is appalled when he discovers what is happening and swears to Payne that they will dig for the truth, but the discovery of illegal practices at the Facility leads to a shakeup of the treatment of Vessels.

Alec and Payne clash when they first meet and it continues until Alec realizes that he doesn’t really want a mindless sex toy, Payne challenges him at every turn and makes him see that Vessels aren’t just objects, but are people with their own thoughts and feelings. You warm up to both Payne and Alec quickly and when Alec’s father, David, comes on the scene he seems unfeeling and callus, it isn’t until later in the book that his façade changes and that’s due to his own Vessel, Amber, Alec’s mother. The storyline is brilliant and a little bit taboo, playing with genetics’ to make the perfect companion, but the system is hijacked when the Vessels are treated inhumanly.

I am really looking forward to seeing which direction this series goes next, because there is unfinished business and people disappeared before they could be caught… and we also have the surprising twist of shifters coming out of their hiding places. We also have the uncertain question of the Vessels mating, now that they will no longer be forced, how will this twist work out?

I will recommend this to those that love shifters, mates, a touch of danger, hot sex, a touch of conflict and a happy ending.

Blurb: The year 2089 finds Australia split between east and west, with a wall to ensure the east stays safe. College student Aiden Taylor is traveling from Perth to Sydney to see Men at Work, who have been revived after cryogenic freezing. Regrettably, only days into his trip, his moped is stolen—and then he meets a naked man from the east. The man turns out to be Matthew King, who offers Aiden a ride—no strings attached—all the way to Sydney.

When another attack occurs the following night, Aiden discovers Matthew’s impossible secret: he’s a were-kanga. At least that gives them something to talk about when they experience delays at the wall. One thing leads to another, and soon friends with benefits turns into something more. But when the summer is over, Aiden must return to school in Perth. How can he leave Matthew behind?

Review: Australia has been split in two since 2050 with the East shutting itself off from the West when someone accidentally caused a nuclear explosion. Aiden is looking forward to the Men At Work comeback concert and sets off from Perth for Sydney, it’s a long journey by himself on his moped, but he desperately wants to see the group. Unfortunately, his moped is stolen along with his money and his prized ticket. Aiden then he meets a naked man, Matthew, who turns into his shining knight who offers him a ride to Sydney. When Aiden is attacked again Matthew comes to his rescue and Aiden discovers the myth about were-kanga’s is true, both men have secrets that they hide and it gives them a lot to talk about when they are held up at the border. They become close but Aiden’s time in Sydney is limited, could they have something more than just a summer romance?

This is a great story that was surprisingly funny and sweet in equal measure. Aiden is a brilliant character who has an unhealthy obsession with murderous Tasmanian devils; his inner monologue is hilarious and is even funnier when it slips out of his mouth. Matthew is kind and generous and is the perfect foil to Aiden’s slightly manic mind, they fit together from the start and make a great couple especially when Aiden stops panicking. The shifter aspect isn’t really that much of a big deal and neither is Aiden’s mutation, it’s more a story of two men who meet on the road and hit it off, shacking up together and falling in love but then one has to leave to return to his life and they decide what to do for the future.

The story is an easy fun read that has the twist of Matthew being in the closet and his dad trying to fit him up with a woman, rather than being angsty it is just a bit tense with some great reactions from Aiden that has you smiling quite often. There is some great sex and Matthew and Aiden certainly make the most of it. What I loved most about this story was that although they quickly jumped into bed together they spent plenty of time getting to know each other before saying ‘I Love You’ and Matthew also had a great explanation for his initial feeling for Aiden.

I recommend this if you want a different kind of shifter, if you want a humorous light read, if you want guys falling in love and finding their happy ever after, this is definitely a story that you should give a chance.
