Blurb: Old friends and business partners, Maitland Carter and Lenny Fritz, may not be the two sharpest pickle forks in the picnic basket, but they have big hearts. And they are just now coming around to the fact that maybe their hearts are caught in a bit of turmoil.

Diving headfirst into a whirlwind of animal mayhem, these two self-proclaimed pet detectives strive to earn a living, reunite a few poor lost creatures with their lonely owners, and hopefully not make complete twits of themselves in the process.

When they stumble onto a confusing crime involving venomous reptiles, which is rather unnerving since they’re more accustomed to dealing with misplaced puppy dogs and puddy tats, they take the plunge into becoming real-life crime stoppers.

While they’re plunging into that, they’re also plunging into love.

They just haven’t admitted it to each other yet.

Review: The first thing I must say or I should warn you about, is to have tissues around you at all times with this book. Because you will be laughing your ass off with it. And I do not mean just a little, I couldn’t stop laughing at all.

This damn book was about the funniest book I have ever read. From sexy men, quirky customers, goofy dog who pooped on everything, to a monkey jacking off every few minutes and let’s not forget the gerbil.

Mait and Lenny have not only been best friends forever but even friends with benefits. However it looks to me like love is going on. They have decided to open a pet detective agency and they are ready for customers.

Although they have a missing gerbil, an escaped bird, a missing dog, let’s just say that they are also looking for a very big lizard. The thing is the owner is up to something and the guys are bound to find out what it is.

I laughed so hard that I fell over backwards from my chair. This book is so much fun to read. I can tell you that if this author continues to write these types of stories I will definitely be picking them up. The story was an absolute blast and the characters were so damn hot.

I had so much fun with this book. I can tell you that I will be reading it more than once. It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more.

This is one book I would definitely recommend.

Blurb: Final book in the Dirty Series arc.

Former LAPD detective Cole McGinnis’s life nearly ended the day his police partner and best friend Ben Pirelli emptied his service weapon into Cole and his then-lover, Rick. Since Ben turned his gun on himself, Cole thought he’d never find out why Ben tried to destroy him.

Years later, Cole has stitched himself back together. Now a private investigator and in love with Jae-Min Kim, a Korean-American photographer he met on a previous case, Cole’s life is back on track—until he discovers Jeff Rollins, a disgraced cop and his first partner, has resurfaced and appears to be working on the wrong side of the law.

As much as Cole’s fought to put the past behind him, he’s soon tangled up in a web of lies, violence, and death. Jeff Rollins is not only trying to kill Cole’s loved ones, he is also scraping open old wounds and long-forgotten memories of the two men Cole loved and lost. Now Cole is caught in a cat-and-mouse game with a cold-blooded killer with the key to not only his past but his future.

Review: Every really good author has their proverbial ‘Murphy’s Law’ coupling. Diana Gabaldon had Claire and Jaimie, Mary Calmes has Sam and Jory, Abigail Roux has Ty and Zane, and Rhys Ford has Cole and Jae. Cole and Jae have been through so much, both as a couple and on their own before they even met. It’s taken a very long time for Jae to live his life openly, to admit he loves Cole and to own his sexuality. Whereas Cole has always worn his sexuality like a badge.

As this story starts, it looks like Cole is still up to his finding trouble no matter where he goes antics, but it also looks like he and Jae are finally settling into a comfortable relationship with no boundaries or barriers.

Well, if you know Cole and Jae, you know that them being happy is like a homing beacon for trouble. You also know Cole will stop at nothing to protect those he loves. Everything is about to come full circle for this unlikely duo. Someone in Jae’s estranged family reaches out to Cole and Jae for help, which is laughable, considering what said family have put them both through.

And then another ghost from Cole’s past decides to start wreaking havoc and putting bullet holes in anyone or anything standing still. Is it just an unhappy coincidence that these things are happening simultaneously? Or has the grim reaper finally come to collect the debt Cole squirmed his way out of when he survived the shooting that took his former lovers life?

I think what has drawn me to this series with each new story is not only watching Cole and Jae struggling with issues both as a couple, and as individuals. Watching their bullet riddled love story unfold. I think it’s the way their feelings, emotions and thoughts have been described in such meticulous detailing that I feel I can almost see inside them.

Ford could possibly make a sociopath feel with the way she vividly describes the characters and their emotions. Another fantastic aspect of Ford’s stories, not just this series, is how she creates these secondary characters that are as vital to the story as Cole and Jae are. Then there is the dry, witty sarcastic sense of humor Cole embodies.

Jae goes off on Cole at one point in this story, having had enough of his pleas with Cole to “not get hurt” or “not get shot” ignored quite long enough. It is hysterical. I laughed so hard I think I peed my pants just a bit. Claudia deserves mom of the year ya’ll! And Bobby, that man cracks me up. One of my favorite lines in the book came from Bobby, talking to Cole.

“Get out of my truck so I can go home and fuck your brother.”

Definitely a must read story for fans of the Author and/or the series. If you don’t grab a copy you will never know exactly what drove Cole’s former partner on the police force to shoot Cole and his then lover, leaving one of them dead before turning the gun on himself.

I’ll admit that I have had a couple of theories since the first book. And I was surprised when the truth is revealed. If you like action packed, non-stop, thrill a minute stories with flawed, three dimensional characters and these absolutely insane story lines… I would wonder why you haven’t read this series yet.

The Harold Calloway Theatre on West 47th Street is home to the new play Triskaidekaphobia, and its playwright has been receiving threatening messages. Theatre owner and lead producer Wellington Calloway has hired Jimmy to investigate, but it’s a case not without its complications. His mother is the head usher there, and Jimmy grew up on its aisles. Review: I am not one who usually reads mysteries or suspense stories, give me a good romance and I am a happy girl. However this series is not only captivating, fascinating but intriguing as well. It is well told with a lot of depth to it that will always keep your attention. The characters are fully developed and will have you eating out of their hands. Jimmy is one hell of a guy.

Jimmy has always tried to find out who killed his father. The one man who knew the answer was killed by Frank, who just happened to be not only Jimmy’s lover but the chief of police. He felt that he had been betrayed. That is until Frank found the sister of the man he had killed. Now someone was trying to shut Seetha up.

He is also working on a case involving the theater. The theater has been a place that he had been around most of his life thanks to his mother. He had loved a man there who had up and left him. Now he was back and there was a danger lurking around the theater.

I would think that Adam is probably one of my top favorite mystery authors out there. Not only does he have sexy men, hot sex, lots of danger, mystery and suspense, but he creates a world that will definitely keep you on the edge of your seat.

I had a lot of fun reading this and look forward to the next story.

Review: Zavier McCade is ready to settle down with his forever love. Unfortunately, he hasn’t met the man yet.

What starts off as a quick visit to visit family turns into the chance meeting of Cade’s forever guy. And while there were elements of insta-love, Luna David made me wait for any real sheet time.

Now, as for the suspense portion of this book. LOVED it. Cade’s man, Bradon has a stalker. He didn’t take the notes that just appeared seriously at first, but they have taken on an increasingly sinister tone. It’s not until his best friend and business partner finds out, that Custos Securities gets involved.

I can’t say with element was more prominent, the romance or the mystery. Luna David did an amazing job weaving them so tightly together. Cade basically has to do double duty. He works hard to get Bradon to trust him, while calling in his team to protect the man as the stalker get bolder.

I also loved the secondary characters. Bradon’s best friend is a protective little thing. Cade’s best friend is altogether too sexy for his own good. And don’t get me started on Bradon’s Nana. I want to be just like her when I grow up.

Now for my one little complaint. The ending sucked…major. Not in a bad way, but in a Harry Potter kind of way. Meaning, this crisis is over, but the end is still not there.

So, yes…I did almost throw my Kindle, but my husband was sitting next to me, and I haven’t finished paying for it yet.

And for the record, I will be pre-ordering the next book in this series, the second it is available.

Highly recommending.

Review: Special Agent Jason West has gotten saddled with super-agent Sam Kennedy. Unfortunately, Kennedy is being watched by Jason’s supervisor and oh yeah, he’s a bit of an arrogant asshole.

It has been a while since I enjoyed a mystery this much. From page one I was hooked.

Jason has a history with the town and the Huntsman. A history that he chooses to keep to himself. Kennedy has earned the wrath of some higher-ups in the FBI, but we’re kept in the dark as to his exact crimes. The result is that I couldn’t help but put both men on my list of suspects.

Then there was the romance. Forgive my political incorrectness, but they are such guys. They kind of fell into bed with each other, but god forbid they should talk about feelings and relationships.

As for the bad guy, I had my suspicions early on, but got caught by a few red herrings. Readers of James Patterson will appreciate the succinct writing style and well-crafted plot.

Highly recommending.

Review: Special agents Ty Grady and Zane Garrett have been through a lot over the last decade, walked different paths until they eventually crossed. But Zane is about to find out that their paths actually crossed years before they became partners in the FBI, as well as some closely guarded secrets his lover would rather he not know.

Ty Grady may be a certifiable son of a bitch, but is loyal to a fault. So when his best friend and former team member, Nick O’Flaherty, calls that he and Doc are in trouble, of course Ty drops everything and rushes to the last place on earth he ever wanted to be again… New Orleans.

Years ago when Ty was still on the force, he did an undercover stint in NOLA and didn’t leave on the best of terms. The city is all around a bad omen for Ty and his Sidewinder team mates, and several bad decisions are about to come back to try to kill them.

Zane is completely, totally, one hundred and ten percent in love with his partner. Of course the feelings are reciprocated, but Ty is a master manipulator that has redefined the definition of the words truth and lies.

Both men are about to learn exactly how far they can be pushed before they break, how far they are willing to go for one another, and all I can tell you is… it is not pretty. Roux could have easily titled this series Murphy’s Law, because whatever can go wrong most definitely will if it involves Ty and Zane.

Lord, but this book almost gave me a damn heart attack! There was a little bit of grown man angst that had me wanting to pull Zane through my iPod and smack him around a little, but thankfully, he pulled his head out of the nether regions eventually.

That being said, I could completely understand why he was livid with Ty. It is a thin line between a moral obligation to the man you profess to love, the man you want to spend the rest of your life with, and being sworn to secrecy by your boss. And even though at the end of the day Ty and Zane are smart enough to figure out what is important and fight for it, I don’t think all the secrets have truly been shared.

Narrated by J.F. Harding and I love that I am already associating his voice to these characters after just one book. It read more like a continuation for me between Harding’s attention to details with the tones and nuances he has given the guys, and bringing them smoothly over to this story, and the story picking back up right where Stars & Stripes left off. Harding captured every emotion that poured of Roux’s words in this story.

There were some seriously emotional and devastating aspects to this book and I could almost feel Ty and Zane’s pain when they spoke.

This book will put you through the ringer. It’s emotional and heavy, but it’s passionate and real as well. I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat at work while listening. There were a couple of times I was so engrossed that I sat with my fingers perched over the keyboard, staring blindly at the monitor because all I could concentrate on was Ty and Zane.

I highly recommend this book/series if you enjoy highly detailed stories where the world and the characters are so real while you listen, that you not only become invested, you are embedded in their fictional lives, anxiously awaiting the next installment.

Review: This is part of an ongoing series that needs to be read in order.

It is a mystery and suspense that really has a bit of the paranormal in it. Which for me topped this book over the charts. It is well written with a lot of depth that makes it an amazing story. It doesn’t let you down half way, but keeps your attention all the way through.

Russ and Colin have been together for a while now, however Russ seems to think it should be going wrong. It seems that he can see pretty well into other people’s lives but not his own. His new case involves a family that can make a crazy family look sane. He is trying to find out who is vandalizing the Ellis ranch and he is coming up with quite a bit of answers.

I love Russ and hope to hear his story for a long time from now. He is like how you want a man to be. Sexy, best attitude, honest, straightforward and a damn good psychic. Now I am never much for mysteries, but the fact that this has romance added in makes it perfect. I also love the twist that this story has.

When I first read Lloyd  A Meeker’s books, I was captivated from the start and this is no different. I can actually see myself reading it more than once.

It has reached my favorite list and I look forward to reading more by this amazing author.

Review: I have read a few of Ally Blue’s stories and have always been intrigued by the worlds she creates.

I love a good suspense type of story that has a bit of danger in it. It always keeps me guessing however this one was just a bit off to me. I felt like I knew some of the answers before it even happened. Other than that the story was a pretty good story. It flowed just right and was exceptionally sweet.

Koichi and his twin sister are opening up a little shop near the bog. After a terrible fire at their last shop, they settled for this new setting. It comes with lots of bonus consistently of a sexy neighbor.

Will came to Alabama after a fight with his family, setting up his new shop right next to Koichi. He has a few secrets and one of them was his love for a man who had run when he was younger. He came here to find Anthony. It turns out Anthony is the one with all the surprises.

Will and Koichi hit it off from the start. There is a lot of sparks flying around them both. Now while that is all hot and sexy, it doesn’t necessarily mean an instant love thing. Yet somehow this author has made that connection for us. I must admit that when Will explains what he is cooking one night I was starving by the end of the book.

The characters didn’t really make the right impact that they should have with me. However the shocker is it didn’t seem to matter that much for me. This story was a blast to read and I definitely will want to read Ally’s next book. Although the spooky part never did get solved which was a drag for me.

The title is what really makes me want to know the answers. Dang secrets are always secret. I really want to know the answers to that, so I hope that Ally will turn this into a series.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: Since I’m guessing that OMFG is not enough of a review, I’ll try to briefly state why I loved this book, without sounding too fan girl.

For those of you who follow my reviews, you know that Romantic Suspense is my absolute favorite genre. In my humble opinion, there is nothing better than a tight mystery wrapped around a steamy love affair. Whitley Grey has done just that…in spades.

Now, the worst way to mess up a good mystery is to let me figure out the bad guys too early. Unfortunately, now that I do most of my reading on a Kindle, I can’t just skip to the end of the book.

The plotting of Cold-Hearted Concept is absolutely perfect. I was guessing until the end. There are plenty of clues, but just as many red herrings.

And of course, every good romantic suspense, need a great leading couple. Zach and Beck are soooo it. Both men are strong and good at their jobs. Both question if being together is worth all the changes and sacrifices that each must make.

In the end, both the romance and the suspense left me satisfied.

Highly recommending.

First off let me just say that this is the first book by this author that I have had a chance to read. So I wasn’t really sure what to expect from it. The title was not what I would call an eye catcher. It made me think of colors and music yes but also a bit dull. I was a bit leery reading it at first. It doesn’t catch my attention like it should have. I am afraid to say I was a bit bored with it.

Now the blurb made the story seem a bit better than it really was. I was expecting something more I suppose. The story has great potential but the follow through was not very hot. Bill and Johnny come off a bit like brothers to me. They were quite interesting in the beginning of the story but then they just sort of fell short.

It just comes off a bit odd and not really realistic to me. The way they interacted with each other was bored and stiff. I felt like this was being written with no heart put into it, as if the author was rushing to get through it and a few other items as well.

It doesn’t seem like it really has a true plot to it as well. The guys didn’t really communicate through most of the story. It just didn’t have a flare to it at all. Like I said above it has great potential but for me it just didn’t work out the way it should.

The guys both have issues that they are having trouble dealing with. I mean Bill has no real clue who he is where as Johnny was cheated on with an idiot ex. The supporting characters had more flare to them then these two did.

Now the story did pick up close to the end which made it a bit better however I was just not pleased with it.

The problem was it took me longer to get past the first paragraph then it should have. I am sorry to say that this story was not for me. It was a very slow-paced story with no true heat to it. It comes off older than anything.

I would recommend it, but only if you are into those types of stories. I am sorry to say that I was a bit disappointed in it.

Aerin’s Review: ♥♥ 2 Hearts

This is my very first Ken Bachtold book and will probably be my last. As sad as I am to say this, there was no enjoyment for me to be found in this story. The blurb sounded intriguing and I remember previously reading a book with a similar story line that I enjoyed, so this book had a lot of potential. Unfortunately there were so many things that went wrong…. here’s a few of them.

The main characters were interesting and intriguing at the beginning, but quickly became cheesy and hard to connect with. There is nothing realistic in their interactions and the conversations were stilted and boring. The writing felt wooden, stiff, with absolutely no flow or reason.

Let me address the realistic issue; there is absolutely no instant in my life or life in general where I’ve heard people talking to each other the way Bill and Johnny did. It took 1/3 of the book for Johnny and Bill to even say hi to each other and let me tell you it was awkward as hell. They saw each other three times before, when Bill would go into the Jazz bar Johnny was playing music at; each time they had some significant (for them at least, for me was kind of confusing) staring contest after which Johnny would launch into a play of Mood Indigo ( and neither of them knew why Johnny played this song), which would make Bill run away. The fourth time Bill came in Johnny was determined to talk to Bill, and so he chased after him when Bill ran away again. This is the first conversation they’ve ever had (all of the quotation marks are a small part of their first conversation):

“What’s your name?”

“I have no real name, I call myself Bill Ward.”

“I don’t understand.”

“They told me I must have been in an accident. When they found me I was like road kill.”

Say what? Who tells that to a complete stranger the very first time they have any kind of conversation? I mean do people blurt things out like that? Because if they do, I must live on another planet since I’ve never heard any conversation like that in my life! And this is 100% insta-love; you know insta-love can be sort of cute when done right, but these guys decide quite cheesily that they have a crazy chemistry and need to try a serious relationship. It kind of went like this (this happened 2 minutes after they introduced each other):

“I looked up and saw your very blue eyes, and I kind of shuddered. I felt some kind of connection. Scared the hell out of me. It was the first time I didn’t feel isolated. And there you were, the handsome perfect stranger. Right out of a book.” —–> Bill

“I know. I looked up and you were gone. I had this weird sense of loss, and I thought I’d probably never see you again.” —–> Johnny

During the first conversation they’ve ever had Johnny also tells Bill about his cheater ex boyfriend and the terrible time after they split up. As much as I wanted to, I simply couldn’t believe, never mind buy into their relationship. They had no chemistry at all and they were so very boring together. Needless to say the topics of their conversations came and went without any sense. It was like some weird butchered dialog that was pretty much just vomited on page without any editing to make sense of it.

The plot is….well…. wait, what plot? I’m pretty sure I must have missed the plot, because most of the book Johnny and Bill spent their time being all cute and completely unsexy, Bill’s housemates, a trio of older people who acted like meddling kids, stuck their nose into Bill’s personal life and were constantly plotting things. I’ve just finished a book in which the grandmother was pretty much my favorite character because she was a hoot, but I can’t say the same thing about these ones. They seemed a bit creepy to me, or maybe I should blame that on the blocky dialog and bad writing. And I get the feeling there was supposed to be some form of suspense given Bill’s accident and the recovery of his memory but it was mostly a case of stating the obvious.

I usually find things to enjoy or like in a book regardless whether the books I read gets a high rating or not; I tried to think of what I liked and couldn’t come up with anything! Not the characters, not the story, and certainly not the writing. I am being very generous giving this book 2 Hearts.

Review: Each book in the Demon Elite collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. To fully get into this story I would suggest reading the Lakehouse Security series first.

In these books what makes them even more special is the fact that most of the guys have a bad past life. They don’t trust fully until you prove that you can be trusted. Liam and Wolf are just like that. Liam has not had the best home life and the one person he loves is his little brother. So when Finn stopped calling he knew something was up, he just hadn’t expected to be caught up in it also. Now he needed help for them both.

Wolf found Finn and a few other hostages in a broken down home. When he rescues Finn, he realizes that Finn’s brother is in just as much trouble. However when he takes on look at Liam he knew that this was going to be his man. He just had to get him to believe him. Because damn his little man is one hell of a feisty firecracker.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story. When April puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up.

Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Review: I didn’t mind reading Mute Witness by Rick R Reed. I know it isn’t a ringing endorsement, but this being the second book I’ve read by Reed, I believe I have now come to the conclusion that I really am just not a particular fan of the author’s writing style.

I can enjoy a good plot, appreciate the emotion, when I read a story, but as I felt with this book, the writing style doesn’t reach out and grab me.

This book is about Sean and Austin. They have been together for a while and they are insanely happy. They have a pretty place together near the water in a small town and to make the family complete Sean’s son, Jason, visits them on weekends. But Jason goes and the small town predictably turns on the gay couple and the rest of the story becomes a bit of a mind-fuck.

There is drama within the couple’s relationship as well as the horror of the missing child and all of the things that emerge in the aftermath to shock the community. Most of the reactions to horror that has happened to Jason are very predictable, but I am unsure as to whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, but it is quickly evident that the homophobia runs deep.

As I said, I never really felt emotionally attached to any of the characters. The book is written from numerous POVs. A bit of a bug bear of mine is when minor characters become the narrators, or more accurately characters which are not the titular couple, because this is where I feel all the emotion is lost. Another issue I had was it was sometimes too wordy, to borrow a phrase, five words are used where one would suffice. There were so many times I wanted to skip ahead and find out what was going to happen.

So, yes, I liked Mute Witness it was an interesting and engaging plot. It was also intense, I don’t recommend binge reading as I had been tempted to do but in the end just couldn’t. I didn’t mind the danger, the horror and the graphically real feel to when it comes to the abuse aspects within the plot.

However, the choppy feel of the book, though, means that I just couldn’t get completely and emotionally involved in the action and the danger. I certainly never got attached to any of the characters. There is some dream sequences throughout which I felt sometimes took away from the overall story.

So, the tricky part is the recommendation. This book isn’t strictly a romance. That is all incidental even though Austin and Sean are already an established couple. This is more about the thrill and suspense with some graphic depictions of sexual and physical abuse, which I am sure, is not for everyone.

If you’re the type that like watching a good old mystery on TV (British mysteries keeps coming to mind) and it sounds good to you, this is the book for you.

Review: If you’re like all things tech with two hot leading guys, then this is the book – and the series – for you!

When I was offered Strength in Numbers by Brad Vance to review, I quickly went back and binged on book one of the Game Players – Would I Lie to You? Then returned and promptly gorged myself by binging on Strength in Numbers. (Admittedly, you probably could pick up the story without reading book 1, but why only get part of the story and sell yourself short?).

For me this series is the first time I’ve read anything by Brad Vance and after some research I really want to read Have A Little Faith in Me just to start off! (It’s just all the fun of discovering a new author whose writing style fits your twisted brain).

So, the story… the series follows Marc and Jesse, who after book 1 are now the most adorable and hot couple. They also like to live on the wild side of things. Marc is a billionaire, which sometimes gives me a James Bond feel to things, who had employed the services of professional (and once incarcerated) hacker Jesse, who definitely adds a bit of a Mission Impossible vibe to things.

Marc and Jesse, while they have some dangerous enemies and some shady allies, are such a wonderful couple. I love it that how through all the action, adventure and suspense they try to solve problems together as a couple. Totally cute. I could gush about these two guys all day if I had the time.

Strength in Numbers starts almost where we left off in book 1 and things are just as complicated from the get go. With villains such as Chip and Walt popping up as the guys try to catch them – their shady ally, Russian gangster Leonid Ivanov has found a way for the guys to repay his help. And that is where we get to the heart of the action packed adventure.

We delve into the world of Bitcoin – Vance presents fantastic explanations of those that don’t know much about the world of cybercurrency. The guys are off on a trail to find a hoard of Bitcoin. This is where it’s handy to have a hacker and a billionaire together.

We open the story in a luxurious resort in Andorra before going onto Spain and Japan (*sigh, I love Japan so I love when characters in books go there too*), Buenos Aires and Mexico (can we say luxury yacht?). The adventure takes them all over and they are in a race against time as Chip and Walt also seek to find the hoard. If they don’t beat the villains, the consequences could be disastrous to say the least!

It’s all a bit of fun and the best part is that there is going to be a book 3! Can’t wait for that one!

Review: I have only read one or two books by this author and I must say that she has a blare about her stories. Although I am not one for teenagers or even college students in stories because they just don’t seem to come off the way many stories should. I also don’t like characters who are not gay then all of a sudden they are having sexual relations. It just doesn’t come off like what would happen in real life so for me this story was a mixture of many feelings.

Jason is watching a play with his girlfriend when some nut case student starts shooting. Jason was saved by Liam but his girlfriend didn’t make it. They form a bond that strengthens through time but Jason is still having a bit of troubles with it all. He had never had any plans or ideas of being with another guy but Liam is his hero.

Liam has such a horrible past and it leads him into his hero ways. He feels like he is making up for past mistakes by saving Jason. However he also has feelings growing for Jason and he wants to follow through with it all. The problem is he keeps trying to save others and it makes things difficult for them both.

Now with this Liam comes off more as a stalker and kind of creepy in a way. Whereas Jason comes off a bit of a wimp and off. Now the shooting was horrible and Mia wrote it with such a perfect direction that one would feel like they were right there. It was amazing the way it came off. I also loved how the guys dealt with the backlash of negative feelings from friends and family. Other than my problems with it the story was well written and fully developed. It was a good story and I enjoyed it quite a bit.

It caught my attention from the start but unfortunately my attention wavered quite a bit so for me it wasn’t a win for me. I would like to say though that you can tell right off the bat that this author put her heart into her story and I would definitely recommend it.

However it really wasn’t for me.

Review: This was the first story that I had read by this author and had been fascinated when I first read it, now I am the proud owner of all her stories and continue to look for more. So when I found out that this series was going to be put on audio I knew I wanted them. There are some of the normal problems with this story but for me it didn’t take away from my experience at all.

I can tell you that I have listened to this probably at least a dozen or so times. I must say that Darcy is a great narrator but the first time I heard the voice I was not sure. However once I got over the first thought my second thought was I absolutely loved the way Darcy brought the characters to life for me. Made me feel like I was in the room right there with them.

A few years ago Cade started Rescue for Hire and he picked the perfect men for the job. He is the alpha dominate of the group and you can tell just by looking at him that he is one tough man. His heart however is bigger and you can feel it when he sees Bret in the water. You can feel each time he looks at his sweet little man and you can tell the connection is strong with these two.

I absolutely love Bret. He is a quirky little man who is going to keep Bear on his toes that is for sure. He has this mischievous side to him that gets him into trouble, but damn it is worth it. He had been kept prisoner by a crazy man and his boyfriend, it was only till a flood happened that he had no way out.

Being rescued by a sexy bear of a man is a big plus for Bret. He is going to need the big bear because someone is out to get Bret. It will take the whole team to rescue Bret out of this one and you can definitely hear Cade’s tone in this story. He will do everything to get his man back.

I absolutely loved reading this and hearing it was ten times better. I go home and wish that I had it on throughout the night. It also makes me want to start on book two. I loved the way Bellann gives me a story that shows the alpha’s true heart. They love with passion and heat, yet they will put those down who hurt their men. This has been one of my favorite stories from all time.

I loved it and look forward to starting the next story. My attention was captured from the start and kept till the very end. It also gave me everything I could possibly want in a story. Danger, excitement, suspense, passion, fire and hot sex are just a start to what you will get in this story. Although I do wish it was longer than just over two hours. It leaves me wanting more.

I would definitely recommend listening to this audiobook.

Review: Tom has been trying hard to reach out to Prophet to no avail. It’s as if the man has disappeared. When a hurricane hits his home, he has to check on his aunt even if it is a big risk to him. When he arrives, he is shocked to see the one man he both longed to see and was so angry with.

I liked this story even better than the last. We get more insight into both men’s pasts and lots more hot man-sex. I liked Adam North’s story telling. I still am not fond of his Tom’s voice, but the new voices especially Charles the stoner was quite fun. Adam has a way that really brings excitement to the parts with emphasis and he really makes the sex scenes hot.

I really enjoyed this story. Tom and Prophet are a hot, exciting couple. I am anxious to see more secrets unravel.

If you like mystery/suspense, undercover agents, secrets and hot man-sex, you will love this!

Review: This is book three in The Wyverns series.

I have to say I absolutely loved it. Teddy, a member of The Wyverns, has been intentionally getting himself arrested for two reasons so he can see a certain sexy sheriff Haydar who he wants badly. Teddy is also recruited to go undercover and find out just who and what the Knights of War are up to.

All is not as it appears with the group and if they succeed in their plans there will deadly consequences. I loved the fast pace and high adrenaline scenes in this book as Teddy learns little by little about the group. Sheriff Haydar is tough yet plays hard to get which I found funny.

It was a great addition to this series that had me enthralled from the start. I could not put it down until the very end. Fantastic story with a lot of action, mystery, suspense, and great sex scenes.

Highly recommended.

Review: I am going to admit I have not read this series and do wish I had. The advantage of reading over listening is that you can go back and read over parts easier. There is so much going on in this book that I am going to skip the run down, but I will add in a few more points.

Prophet is also engaged in a game of cat and mouse or should I say steal the couch with a spook that lives in the same building. While this is a fun part of the story and Cillian does have a larger role later in the book it is hard to figure out how Prophet keeps doing this with casts on both arms.

Which brings me to another point, we begin with Prophet in casts and there are other couples mentioned later in this book which makes me wonder if this is a spinoff. Now having said, that I really liked the book, like I said there is a lot going on, it seems confusing in parts, but by the end some of it falls in place other parts are tied up in a very intriguing cliffhanger that does its job making you want the next book!

Now for the audio part. I enjoyed listening to this book. Adam North is a good narrator. I will have to say I did not like his Tom voice at all. It didn’t sound Cajun and didn’t add anything to his character. The other character voices, the distinctions were slight but I think enough to tell them apart. However, the actual telling of the story was very good and the sex scenes were smokin’ hot.

If you like espionage, secret agents, spies, lots of twists and turns, and some very hot man-sex this is definitely for you.

Blurb: Jonah Landers’s promotion to detective isn’t going so well. His first undercover operation is a disaster thanks to Rafael Santos, a Cuban-American detective so far undercover, no one on Rafael’s Miami-based squad even had a clue he’d already infiltrated the prostitution ring Jonah was targeting. Two years and an insane twist of fate later, Jonah finds himself transferred from Orlando and partnered up with Rafael in Miami—and their rocky beginning doesn’t get any better.

For the sake of their careers and because he realizes he’s falling for Rafael, Jonah makes every attempt to smooth things over and move on with his love life. He turns his attention to A.J. Choya, a Seminole Indian who runs the tech department. But there’s no spark between them, and Jonah has to admit his feelings for Rafael aren’t going away.

When a new case falls into Rafael’s and Jonah’s laps, they must go undercover again and become intimate in a way that forces them to confront their feelings for each other—no matter the consequences.

Review: This is the first Piper Doone book I’ve ever read, and I’m not going to lie, the reviews and low ratings it’s gotten so far made me nervous. But once I started to read it, I immediately got into it and couldn’t put it down.

Jonah Landers’s recent undercover work didn’t end as well as he hoped. His inexperience and nervousness almost made him break cover, and the surprise appearance of another undercover agent almost ruined months of hard work. Jonah got a black eye that will ensure he’ll never forget his first undercover mission, nor the agent who gave him said black eye.

Rafael Santos is a seasoned detective who’s pretty much an expert when it comes to undercover work. What he’s not very good at is communication, and the fact that he “didn’t think” to tell Orlando PD about his undercover work that will bring him into their jurisdiction wasn’t a big deal, right? Rafael and Jonah’s first encounter ended up with Rafael’s fist connecting with Jonah’s face and Rafael had nothing but contempt for Jonah’s inexperience.

Two years later, Rafael and Jonah’s paths cross again. Jonah transferred to Miami after his personal and professional life crashed and burned, and his new partner is none other than Rafael Santos. You know how boys in school act when they love a girl? Rafael spent most of his time tugging on Jonah’s metaphorical pig tails, taunted him and annoyed him, and criticized every single step that Jonah took.

So in case you haven’t gotten the meaning, what Rafael really wanted was to throw Jonah against a wall and fuck the living shit out of him, which he proceeds to do later on in the book.

I loved Rafael’s permanently grumpy and intense mood, which only got worse when Jonah started dating A.J., a tech guy from the station. The relationship between Jonah and Rafael becomes drenched in sexual chemistry and tension. Jonah can’t stop thinking and fantasizing about Rafael and Rafael becomes progressively more frustrated until things come to an explosive end when Rafael and Jonah go undercover together.

All the sexual tension that’s been hanging out throughout the book leads to Rafael and Jonah having the hottest and dirtiest make-out session I’ve seen in a long time! So what if they haven’t been together since the beginning? I really couldn’t care less, because the wait was soooooo worth it! And when they get to the part where they have sex…. mind blown!

In my experience, intense and broody characters deliver the best and hottest sex, and Rafael didn’t disappoint, not even a little bit!

The only thing I would’ve liked to be different is maybe a few additional chapters to expand on Rafael and Jonah’s relationship, and Rafael’s POV (that would’ve made this book perfect!). Other than that, this book hit all the right spots!
