Blurb: Fear and sadness mark Bryan’s life, can Gatlin show him that you have to trust before you can love?

Gatlin Pearce is creeping up on thirty-eight and is still single. It’s not that he wants to be alone, it’s just that he’s too damn old to be in clubs filled with glittery gay boys who can’t even tell him who the Rolling Stones are.

Better to just spend his evenings at Hard Score Ink – his tattoo and artwork shop – creating masterpieces on human flesh, listening to the Railers games, and nursing a cold beer.

His solitary life is about to end when Bryan Delaney, the new Railers backup goalie, shows up at his shop looking for new artwork for his helmet. There’s some sort of sad story in those beautiful eyes of Bryan’s, and Gatlin finds himself more than a little infatuated with the tender new goalie.

Bryan Delaney leaves home at fifteen to live with a billet family. He just wishes that he could have escaped his alcoholic father and strictly devout mother earlier. Drafted to the Arizona Raptors he finds a new family, and his first love affair even if that relationship is marked with violence.

Being traded to the Railers is a shock to the system but the team isn’t like any other he’s ever played on and they truly seem to care about him. It’s only when he meets artist Gatlin, with their shared love of music and hockey, that he realizes how hard it is to escape the past.

Review: This story is part of a series and must be read in order.

Gatlin is a tattoo artist who does tattoo’s and gear designs for the Railers, when the new backup goalie is brought into his shop he is immediately struck by the younger man’s looks but it’s his haunted eyes that really capture Gatlin’s attention.

Bryan is scared to be excited about his move to the Railers, he’s had it dung into his head that they will turn on him at the first opportunity and Bryan doesn’t know what to believe when they seem to welcome him with friendly open arms. Meeting Gatlin has Bryan questioning the ‘relationship’ he’s in and it takes the friendship of both Gatlin and the Railers for him to see the abuse that he receives for what it is.

This is an amazing addition to the Harrisburg Railers, I will give a warning that there’s a scene that will take your breath away in shock but I won’t give any details so you can discover it for yourself.

Bryan is a sweetheart who has been beaten down first by his birth parents and then by his last team, his so-called boyfriend was the worst of the abusers and he’s still got his hooks in Bryan. While Bryan begins to fight off the ingrained bullying he begins to open up to Gatlin and it’s with Gatlin’s silent strength that Bryan finally shakes off the chains that held him back.

Gatlin hasn’t had the best relationships in the past but he’s willing to give Bryan a chance and after a couple of false starts his relationship with Bryan blooms. Bryan and Gatlin make a fantastic couple and while they both have things from the past that haunt them they overcome them with the support of the other.

I can honestly say that it was a pleasure to catch up with the Railers team, especially Stan (he’s my favourite J ), we are treated to the entire team making Bryan welcome so there’s some high jinks and fun. There’s also the amazing support that they show each other, the coming together of brothers in arms, the emotional support and the steadfast refusal to let anything shatter the team. This really is an outstanding story.

I recommend this to those who adore men finding the strength to face down bullies, who love a sweet love story playing out on the pages, who adore a fast paced hockey story with fantastic characters, and who love storylines with a happy ending for a lovely couple but a storyline that still needs to play out.

Review: Daniel is just getting through life like a ghost, just drifting through ignoring everything except finishing college because his past have left deep emotional scars that he doubts will ever begin to heal. Corey loses his parents and uncle in a shocking plane crash and he now has a business and his sisters to worry about, but a shocking secret has Corey seeking Daniel out determined to discover the truth and hopefully have Daniel swear never to out the truth so Corey can protect his sisters.

This is a wonderful story that really tears the guts out of a person. Daniel turned his back on the offer of aid from Legacy ranch; he wants nothing to do with anything that reminds him of the past so when a young man seeks him out looking for answers Daniel is torn in two.

Corey just wants to protect his sisters but meeting Daniel throws him for a loop, he doesn’t want to cause any harm to the other man but he needs answers. Daniel turns to Legacy ranch when he finds he can’t manage an office job, and meeting Corey yet again leaves Daniel reeling.

This isn’t an easy story as we dig into Daniel’s horrific past, we see the emotional fall out as a new abuser is unmasked and the boys of Legacy ranch decide what to do with the new information.

Corey’s story also pulls at your heart, he’s desperate to protect his sisters but he also doesn’t want anyone else hurt, he’s struggling with the death of his parents, taking over the business, taking care of his sisters, and finding out the truth of the secret he uncovered… I’m surprised the poor man didn’t cave under the pressure.

Legacy ranch unleashes it healing presence yet again as Corey and Daniel connect and begin to heal; Corey’s sisters also find solace at Legacy helping the family to re-connect.

Corey’s and Daniel’s relationship is a slow building one; they become friends and begin dating over a period of time. They connect well and are really good for each other; they make a great couple who have a bumpy ride.

The story flows well with all the characters fully coming to life, there are moments of angst and anger, panic and despair, love and hope, so we get a true run of emotions from Daniel and Corey.

I recommend this to those who love angst driven characters, who adore men who find love against the odds, who love plot driven storylines, and very happy endings.

Lisa’s Review: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

Now I have to admit that I am not a fan of bisexual characters nor with children or female parts. Also every time I read a story where the wife tragically died leaving her husband and children behind just drives me nuts. Also the fact that she was his best friend in highschool doesn’t really connect with me either. It seems to be used quite a bit which for me is a dull moment. I want something unique and I hate to say it that this was not unique. What was unique was he married his wife, when he found her crying over being pregnant with another man’s child.

Abraham was in love with his best friend and the mother of his children. However that all changed when she passed away and left him alone with their five kids. Although the fact that his oldest is a blind teen who is not biologically his child, and as a normal teenager wants his real daddy. That was the only unique part of the whole story. It does show that Abraham is a nice guy. So his hooking up with Dan was not all that new for me. He hangs out with his friends and meets Dix’s brother Dan and of course something happens. However he just could no resist the temptation.

Dan is a military man who has been in for most of his life and is dealing with his memories. Now as many military personal he has PTSD and has trouble dealing with being a civilian at times. Now what caught my attention was the fact that his brother is blind, and Abraham’s oldest son was blind, see the theme going there. The he meets his brothers friend Abraham, and sparks fly. The problem seems to be those five kids that he has. And according to Dan, he doesn’t like kids. Really were going to go there, just seems a bit to cliche again.

Now over all this story was quite good and I did enjoy reading it. I am surprised by the amount of heat these guys have going on, even when they are fighting with each other. I liked the fact that the kids were so active in this book and even though I don’t much care for that aspect of the story it felt good. Now I will be the first to admit that I didn’t read book one so I was missing parts of the story. Which means I will have to go read the first book to check it out. It was a very catchy story that did intrigued me quite a bit. The flow was even paced and made for an enjoyable read.

Pixie’s Review: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 1/2 Hearts

Dan is recently out of the military, staying with his brother Dix and wondering what he will do with his life now. While celebrating New Year Dan meets Weldon Dix’s neighbor and its instant lust, but Weldon has five children and Dan isn’t ready for that type of commitment. Weldon is looking for permanence from any person he has a relationship with, but there’s something about Dan that he just has to have a taste of, they might only have one night together but it’s a night that neither man will forget.

This is a superb story where love sneaks in and knocks both men for six. Dan is still finding his feet after being in the military for years, he’s finding it difficult to find a job and he suffers from the occasional nightmare from his time in combat. A relationship is something he isn’t looking for but he gets knocked off his feet by Weldon and his family. Weldon has a fantastic family; it’s been over three years since his wife died and he’s now looking for someone to share it with, Dan is honest and caring and Weldon wishes he was ready for more than just hook-ups.

Weldon’s children Jakob, Emma, Madison, MacKenzie & Caleb are little stars of this story; they are absolute holy terrors/cherubs and make you grin. While Weldon and Dan are dancing round the relationship dilemma and Dan accepts that he might want more than just a fling with Weldon the kids are all in the background and have an impact on Dan that he never thought would happen… they wormed their way into his heart.

The story is very easy going for the most part, Dan and Weldon fall into a relationship after Dan sorts himself out, but danger lurks when Jakob keeps secrets. This story isn’t just about Dan and Weldon, it’s about building a new family, dealing with settling into a new way of life and helping children deal with growing up.

I loved how this story was written, there is angst but it isn’t really coming from the adults (except parenting angst, there’s plenty of that!), we see how Dan and Weldon deal with their relationship (really easy going), we see the children dealing with a new man in their dad’s life, we see the normal sibling teasing & secrets and how it affects them and we see a strong family being built before our eyes.

I recommend this to those who love fantastic characters, who adore rambunctious children, who love a dash of tension and angst, and love characters who become exceptional when they love the right man.

Blurb: A powerful Galactic Empire—devastated by a mysterious plague—lost in antiquity.

Unknown to the Ranger Team, this Planet is not as uninhabited as their surveys had indicated. Something else is there…. Something old beyond counting—watching—waiting—judging them. When Jar’ek and his team set foot on Jaden-325-4, they set into motion a future they know nothing about—yet may shake the very foundations of civilization.

This book is recommended for Sci-Fi enthusiasts 14 to 99.

Review: We join this epic journey as the SEED awakens; the SEED is all that’s left after a deadly plague wiped out their powerful Galactic Empire, asleep for thousands of years it now needs a host so it can begin to rebuild a civilization that prospered and was peaceful.

Earth is no more it was destroyed by the Treech and humanity fled, the last of humanity now reside on two planets with New Hope reigning over Promise. The Terran Confederation has a stranglehold on its people, their rules are absolute and the people in power are greedy and determined to grab as much power as possible.

From the Terran Exploration Vessel Dragon Eye, Ranger team Jar’ek Constandor and Kallehn Frix and their X’Ah-Panths partners, S’Fah and J’Uhr (genetically enhanced Panther’s that they can mind-touch with), are sent down to Jaden-325-4 to discover any abandoned alien technology that could aid the Terran Confederation. But disaster strikes and Jar’ek has to take a risk if he is to rescue Kallehn from certain death.

This is an amazing story; the imagination that went into creating the world building and characters is just mind blowing. The characters are fully fleshed out and interesting, the secondary characters are just as fully developed and we get to see some interesting changes as they begin to face the reality of their situation.

While it took a little while to get used to the writing style the storyline gripped me from the beginning, I found myself sucked into an out of this world experience and became fully invested in Jar’ek and Kallehn and the adventure they had begun. We get taken to far flung corners of the Galaxy (and beyond) as we follow a host of characters (including AI probes), we face danger and mystery, intrigue and betrayal… ah it was just a perfect mix.

Jar’ek and Kallehn are a well suited couple, they are best friends and Ranger partners but have always kept their true feelings for each other hidden as it’s against the Terran Confederation’s rules (just so you know ANY intimate relations are frowned upon for any Terren). Their life and death situation and the drastic actions of Jar’ek change all that and they finally speak the truth to each other.

We also have other relationships develop as other characters situations change; just maybe Jar’ek’s actions could free the last of humanity from their chains. But! That’s not all, Jar’ek has a new mission to undertake, rebuilding the Harmonic Empire, gather any of the Empire that was lost and bring peace and harmony to all worlds. It will be a trial as Jar’ek and Kallehn take up their new responsibilities.

Now I mentioned that the writing style took a bit of getting used to, well I was thrown at first because of how it was arranged but it also made it very easy to know just who was speaking.

 SEED:  {“If you are judged worthy, you will have the power to heal your friend.  If you are judged unworthy, we can do nothing for him or you.  That is the way of things.  We cannot vary from the protocol.”}

Jar’ek:  “So, I must surrender myself and give up everything that I am or could ever be so that I can save my friend?”

At first I thought it was written the way it was because it was a consciousness speaking to an AI, then because the people speaking were on a space ship, but as it continued to happen I began to care less about why it was happening and was just glad that it was so clear as to who was speaking, especially when you have the Terren’s, the X’Ah-Panths, the SEED and the AI’s conversing at different times throughout the story so you never have to try to figure out just who said what.

Now the characters are great, they have a lot thrown at them in just a small timeframe especially Jar’ek so we do have some meltdowns as they get used to their new lives, but saying that I did want to give Jar’ek a smack with the risks he took *shakes head* seriously man, the weight of an Empire rests on your shoulders and you’re not invincible!

I will hold my hands up and admit that putting the story down was hard, it became ‘just one more chapter’ and then the end of the book appeared and it was 3.30am!!!! And oh my god what an ending… they’d just discovered an important message and bam! There’s the ending and me wishing the next book was published so I could continue reading *pout*

So this is a thoroughly entertaining story with plenty of action, danger, a couple of romances and a hefty challenge. If you love science fiction and space opera then you must give this book a shot, it is just fantastic.

Blurb: He can’t choose…

Leadership and setting an upstanding example are everything to Wisconsin Wendigos captain David Dickson. On ice, he’s got it all together. Off ice? Not so much. For years he’s been pining for not one, but both of the loyal alternate captains who’ve stood by him through thick and thin.

They’ve always had his back…

Sasha Ivanov and Bo McAllister have always seemed more into each other then into their captain. But when the stress of the season starts affecting David, they’re more than willing to step up and help him deal with it–by whatever means necessary.

He can’t resist…

When Sasha and Bo offer him everything he’s been wanting, David can’t say no, even though he knows it comes with an expiration date. But the more he finds himself fitting into their life, the more he wants what he knows he can’t have.

Can Bo and Sasha find room in their hearts for one more person? Will David let them bring him into their life? Or are these captains doomed to remain just teammates?

Find out in this steamy sports romance novel, featuring a team captain who’s too stubborn for his own good, a defenceman with a heart of gold, and a goalie who never has a problem using his words.

Three-Man Advantage is a standalone romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger! Also includes a sneak peek at Holding, Book 3 in the Tripping series, coming in October 2018!!!

Purchase Link: Amazon US | Amazon UK

Review: David is the captain of the Wisconsin Wendigos ice hockey team and he has it bad for both the alternate captains, defenceman Sasha and goalie Bo, who he thinks are in a relationship together. He longs for something with either one of them and when they make him an offer he can’t refuse all he can do is try to protect his heart.

Sasha and Bo have both noticed that David is extra anxious as the season progresses and decide to try to ease some of the tension. But Sasha soon realises that it just might be more than just helping out their captain for all three of them. Bo is determined to make his captains life easier, and sexing up the man is a bonus but when he gets the idea to find David his own boyfriend he soon realises that maybe his feelings for David have changed.

This is a great little story of a ménage romance developing into love. David, Sasha and Bo are three great characters, they fit together perfectly and you can see how they easily slide from friends into lovers. Sasha is a very perceptive man, he realises before any of the other just ow they all feel for each other and instead of trying to force the other two into recognising the feelings, and he has the patience to wait for them to realise it themselves.

Bo is quite a character, cheeky and loveable, he’s so desperate to make sure David is relaxed and not snarling at the team, he opens his bed to David not realising that he has also opened his heart.

David so desperately wants something special in his life and his attraction to both Sasha and Bo causes him some conflict. Getting involved with both of them might end up being a problem when he realises how deeply he feels for them but he can’t deny himself the joy of being with them.

This is a great story but I did find it jarring at first as we are plunged straight in without the characters being introduced (you know their descriptions and what positions they play etc), I just found it really jarring as though the author just expected me to remember them from the first book *shrugs*. The writing style is pretty easy to fall into although at times it felt slightly stilted but those moments are few and far between.

The characters are entertaining and likeable, you get pulled into David’s, Sasha’s and Bo’s lives and relationship from the start and you do hope that they realise without too much heartache how much they mean to each other.

I recommend this story to those who love ménage romances that feel fated, who adore great characters, love hockey and sexy men finding their happily every afters.

Lisa’s Review ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts

Tory Temple is a new author for me so I wasn’t to sure what to expect. I have never really been a fan of new authors works but only because I have a certain type of book that I like. However this one was pretty damn good. I love the different aspect of this story and the fact that the main guy could hear the animals around him. It pretty much rocked.

Alex and his twin sister could hear the thoughts of animals, although Alex more than Tabby. He was going to school and working at the emergency animal care clinic. He enjoyed it quite a bit. Although his gift is helps him when animals are in trouble, it has a hefty price. He is left with horrible migraines, but Alex will take it as long as he can help an animal.

Then the sexiest man in uniform shows up with a severely injured fawn. Alex is attracted to him, just as Dylan is taken with him. It goes pretty good even though Alex is afraid of telling Dylan about his gift. He has done it before and it never turned out good for him. But Dylan is very persistent about being with him, so Alex agrees.

This story is pretty even paced and kept my attention throughout the story. These guys are perfect together, however I had a few issues with it. For one Dylan never believed Alex about his gift, and it never got fixed. Also the story doesn’t just end like a I am used to it just seemed to stop instantly, which was a drop for me. Even though it is even paced and kept my attention, the story really is missing something to make it really good. I also didn’t much care for the repetitive talk from the animals, it made the story seem lacking a bit. Also Gordon and his evil plot were just nuts. It felt like the author just threw that in for a little more meat, however it was more off to me. It was just so far off because there is no motive other than the guy just wanted money. Every part of the story that had him in it, just felt like added filter for me. So it brought the story down in my eyes. Other than those issues though, I did enjoy it the story.

Pixie’s Review ♥♥♥♥ 3 ½ Hearts

Alex can hear animal thoughts, it helps him with his job at the emergency animal clinic but it does nothing for his love life when boyfriends can’t get away from him fast enough when he admits the truth. Meeting Dylan has Alex hoping that he can eventually confess the truth, but when a bad case of animal abuse has Alex passing out Dylan is sceptical of Alex’s confession. Dylan loves his job as an animal-control officer, meeting Alex is an opportunity that Dylan doesn’t want to miss. But Dylan has some doubts when Alex confesses he can hear animals’ thoughts, can Dylan accept Alex’s claim or will it drive the two men apart?

This is a cute story that has some super cute animals and a hot romance. Alex is a great character who is a little different, he can hear animals’ thoughts, which is great when they are injured but is distressing when they have been abused. Dylan is a great character who is just an everyday kind of guy, he loves animals and tries to help as many as he can. When these two meet they have a subtle attraction which quickly heats up, but Alex’s confession begin to drive them apart.

I liked this story and enjoyed the background friction between Alex and his co-worker Gordon; it adds a good dose of tension and adversity to the story. The relationship between Alex and Dylan is cute, Alex is a bit of a bumbler especially when he’s trying to talk his way around his ownership of Karma (his pet ferret) and both men can be mega cute with each other. Their relationship is hot, there are plenty of smexy times between them, and the animals’ antics are funny and sweet.

The story is easy going and enjoyable, there isn’t much friction except for Gordon and it has some really cute animal adventures. Other than that it really is just a story about two men finding love and accepting their differences, it’s enjoyable but nothing to really get your teeth into.

I recommend this to those who love cute animals, sexy men, a touch of tension, accepting the truth no matter how strange and a very sexy relationship that overcomes cute annoying animals, and human differences.

Blurb: Meet me in St. Louis, Louis, bite me at the Fair!

Hot dogs and ice cream cones and electricity—oh my! The 1904 World’s Fair has it all!

The world’s spotlight is firmly fixed on St. Louis, Missouri—gateway to the West and host of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. Visitors have come from all points of the globe: to gape, to taste, to explore, and to enjoy the marvels which the World’s Fair has to offer.

William Deming is an ambitious young reporter from Utah. He sees a chance not only to visit the fair, but to make a name for himself by reporting on it. He takes a room in a boarding house close on Lindell Boulevard, close to the Fair itself. What he doesn’t count on is meeting Misha—a young and handsome Russian, whose aunt owns the boarding house.

Misha is something William has never encountered before—a vampire! Before he can wrap his head around Misha’s revelation, a man is discovered murdered at the Fair, and William wonders if his Misha is involved. The evidence is especially damning as there seems to have been a connection between the vampire and the victim. Will an old flame cause new problems for William and Misha? Will they find love at the World’s Fair? Or will theirs be doomed to be a fatal attraction?

Purchase Link: eXtasy Books | Amazon US | Amazon UK

Review: Misha lives his life as quietly as he can with the help of his aunt when a new boarder catches his eye. William has been sent to do a story on the first World Fair when his eye is caught by Misha and he decides that maybe he can do the story and still have some fun.

This is a well thought out story that has a good outline and plot. Misha has a somewhat lonely existence and he begins to long for something different. William is just covering the World Fair and falls into a dalliance with Misha. These two men seem to be a good fit for each other and fell for each other quickly and they were quite passionate towards each other.

I liked the slight mystery and the danger, but I thought that things fell into place too easily. The start of the book was a bit hard to get into but as it progressed it seemed less stiff.  It seemed contrived at times and there was one point that I really found hard to believe. I mean out of all those thousands of people they just decided it was Misha…for no reason at all.

I will recommend this to those who love historical, vampires, gentle sex and angst.

Review: This story is an excellent addition to the Harrisburg Railers series, and while Max says goodbye to the team the story fulfils its happy ever after with bright hope for the future as he finds love with animal lover Ben.

Max has a secret he has hidden from everyone, but he’s hoping that his last season will fulfil his dreams of a Stanley Cup win. Meeting a man he could love never crossed his mind but bumping into Ben from the local no kill shelter has him evaluating just what he wants after his hockey career ends.

Ben has sunk himself into his shelter for the past couple of years after losing his husband so suddenly, when he meets a sexy hockey player who ticks all his boxes he doesn’t know if he should take another chance on love. When his nephew turns up it’s up to Ben to keep him safe from the boys’ father, his brother-in-law who despises Ben, and Ben finds himself in the man’s crosshairs.

I have to say that this story is attention grabbing, with the various issues that crop up there is never a dull page. We get drawn in pretty quickly and as we get to know the characters we root for them to overcome their fears and accept the love they are offered.

Ben is a sweet man who has a heart of gold, the loss he still feels for his husband is poignant and his fears over losing someone else is understandable, especially when Max reveals his secret. Max first comes off as someone looking for a good time, but it soon becomes clear that he is searching for something that he didn’t know he was looking for. Together they make an amazing couple, their feelings for each other plain to see and their hotness just blazes the pages.

This story is well written and the characters are brilliant, whether it’s Ben and Max or the Railers team as a whole each character is well developed and as each graces the page their individual personalities shine through. The storyline is crafted in such a way that you never know when the trouble will strike and that ending! OMG it was brilliant executed, smacking you in the face with shock.

I recommend this to those who love fantastic characters, great storylines of exciting hockey, finding new love and a dash of danger.

Blurb: Cain Slays Abel!

In this day and age, that’s not an earth-shattering headline. We want headlines that scream of life-altering events.

Terrorists Nuke Peace Conference!

That’s what we want to read, or we would if we hadn’t lived it in hours before the beginning of the Great Upheaval. The current world was born in nuclear fire and electromagnetic disruption. Most of the superpowers I knew in the early and mid 21st century were washed away.

Cain Slays Abel!

The truth behind that simple story is vastly more complicated than anyone could imagine. It is a life-altering headline, at least for me it was. Twice a simple tale of murder turned my life upside down. I am Richard St. Martin, Lord of all Vampires, but before my story can be told, you need to learn the story of the first Lord of all Vampires, Cain. My stepchildren call him Father Cain because he was the first. To ferret out the truth behind the tale, I had to recruit two talented mortals: Dr. Jeremiah Banks, Archaeologist, and Professor Juan Di Vargas, Theologian and Religious Scholar. Together they found the secret origin of the vampires:

Shorty’s Review ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 1/2 Hearts

This is a story filled with many wonderful characters that brought the details of this story to life in startling clarity. Dr. Jeremiah Banks, is an esteemed archaelogist who attends a conference where he meets esteemed Professor Juan Di Vargas, Theologian and Religious Scholar who then begin a passionate night together. With the way the world is in the story they must be careful of being caught as times are certainly different that what the reader will be used to. It seemed that certain things went backwards instead of advancing forward and nations were divided.

Times are different in this tale. The religious aspects and journal entries regarding Richard St. Martin and Cain are fascinating. Though I’m not overly religious myself I was enthralled with the story as it progressed. This story takes us on a wild adventure to discover the truth of El-Abel and Enoch’s whereabouts and the vampires that either protect the knowledge or want it for themselves.

Cain’s tale is fascinating along with his brothers. But, the actual shocking part was the end as I never saw it coming. Twists and turns, mages, witches, vampires danger and traveling the globe on a quest are all in abundance in this intriguing story yet at times difficult to read for me. But overall awesome.

Pixie’s Review ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts:

Well this was a story and a half! The world building was incredible, pulling us into a world where technology is a thing from the past, religion has it’s hold on the world and in some areas slavery is legal.

I will be honest and say it took me a while to get used to the writing style, and if it wasn’t for the story being so interesting then I would have stopped reading it early on. I finally got the hang of the writing style about 25% in, and from then on it was a brilliant read that kept me turning each page to discover more.

The storyline itself was intriguing, the way that most of humanity turns back to religion in the face of disaster and the way that attitudes and behaviour  seem to reverse to the early 1800’s, with bigotry rife and slavery enforced. Don’t even get me started on sexuality! Damn if disaster ever does strike like this I hope humanity is better than returning to a time that oppressed so many.

We are treated to the developing relationship of Jeremiah and Juan, a May/December love story that has some D/s qualities, their relationship is stretched over time from their first meeting to the archaeology dig where they discover so much that had been hidden.

Then we have the vampires and the story of Cain, Richard St. Martin certainly shines through these moments as entries are littered throughout the story leading us to an ending that is shocking as the truth emerges about the true story of Cain and Able.

At times this story is edge of the seat as Jeremiah and Juan clash with the people & vampires who are trying to keep them from discovering the truth about El-Abel and Enoch. We are treated to danger and adventure that has us excited for the next chapter, and as we approach the end of the book we are thrilled with what must be a showstopping ending. Well, don’t hold your breath, because while the anticipation is built for a big blockbuster ending what we get is a lackluster fizz as the confrontation seems to collapse in on itself in such a way that we sit there gobsmacked and shaking your head thinking “over four hundred pages for that!”.

But while I had a deep sense of betrayal over the ending battle I have to admit that this is an excellent story that has many intriguing and exciting moments, it draws you in with the tasty tidbits from the Vampire Interludes, with the interesting world building and an ending that makes you want to stomp the book into oblivion and leaves you panting for the next book.

So I recommend this story for those who love a great futuristic paranormal story that has a lot going on, with characters that pull you in, with danger and adventure and a happy ending for the MC’s but which is just the beginning for the Vampires!

Blurb: Hitting rock bottom is just the beginning…

I’m a son, a brother, a friend.
A writer.
An addict.
Dead.

Cardiac arrest isn’t enough to keep me dead, though. The doctors brought me back, but for what?

At twenty four I’ve already achieved what most people do in a life time. I’m a successful author, own a flat in the heart of London and drive my dream sports car.

Or at least that’s what people see.

Once the spotlight fades, I’m left alone with my overactive mind, alcohol and drugs the only way to quiet down the noise.

Until an overdose nearly kills me and drags everyone I love down with me.

With the help of my best friend, I leave London and its toxic influence behind, moving to a small town in the outskirts of Cambridge to try and put my life back together again.

If only it were that easy.

Purchase Link: Amazon US | Amazon UK

Review: Finn hits rock bottom the night of his father’s funeral, a night of partying leaves him in the hospital and heading for rehab with a warning ringing in his head… get clean or next time you might die for good. Getting away from London is his only option and quiet Ten Mile Bottom is just what he needs, and meeting the sexy mechanic Ben is a perk.

Ten Mile Bottom is a story that shows a man who has his demons to fight and lay to rest, who discovers love in unexpected places, and who begins to make peace with his past.

This story is beautifully written, it doesn’t pull any punches about addiction or the recovery from addiction, or from showing the emotional trauma of a toxic, dysfunctional family. It shows that even after hitting rock bottom there can still be a glimmer of light to look to.

Finn’s relationship with his mother is extremely toxic, it eats away at Finn even during his recovery but it also eats at his mother. There’s no bad guy in this story just a very complex family dynamic.

Finn’s relationship with Ben starts slowly; building up until it develops into something special. They have some emotional times as they both bare their souls to each other; they connect on a level far deeper than any sexual longing.

This story also doesn’t have a miraculous recovery from addiction, it a long process that Finn works hard to achieve. Ben is a wonderful character who is supportive and sweet, he has a wonderful supportive family who embrace him completely.

Ten Mile Bottom has some fantastic supporting characters from Aiden, Finn’s best friend, Rose, Finn’s young neighbour, and Ben’s family. These characters help build a superb story that is a joy to read, and I can’t wait for Aiden’s story.

I recommend this to those who adore characters who fight their way back from rock bottom, who love an angsty interesting storyline, who love a slow love story and who adore fantastic endings.

Blurb: Cal Bigsby spent his life working the fishing boats and ignoring who he really is and what he needs to be happy.

Prescott ‘Scott’ Vandenburton is being primed to take over Daddy’s company, but he craves a life of his own. His only escape is sailing his yacht.

When a freak storm hits, both are forced to think about life from a whole new perspective.

Shipwrecked, fighting for their lives, and finding unexpected love.

Review: When a storm approaches while Cal is working on a fishing vessel he expects the skipper to turn away and head for land, instead he finds himself the only survivor when the boat sinks after the skipper decided he wanted just a few more fish. Scott just needed time alone away from the expectations of his father, when the storm hits Scott finds himself scrabbling for survival as his boat sinks but his limited experience hinders him.

Finding each other on the vast ocean is a miracle and as Cal and Scott struggle to survive they become close and soon become lovers, but will their relationship last if they get to land and real life interferes?

Out of the Ocean is an interesting story of survival on the high seas, the struggle to find a way to hold on long enough to be found. Cal is an old hand fisherman, the sea is his home but sometimes working for idiots is the only gig available, but this time it’s cost the lives of good men and Cal is stranded in a lifeboat with only his wits to survive. Scott has a job he hates and pressure from his father to do what he wants, Scott escapes to the sea but this time he’s in terrible danger as he has no clue how to survive on a raft by himself.

I liked this story but found that the relationship between Cal and Scott moved very fast, within a space of a couple of hours sexual thoughts and wants are shared, and seeing how the two met and the situation they are in it just felt wrong, too quick too fast. I was expecting them to bond over their experience, get to know and admire each other and then pursuing something between them when they were rescued.

The story is good though, Cal and Scott couldn’t be more different from different walks in life but they connect and want more from life than they currently have. Cal keeps them going while Scott tries his best to help. Cal is fifty while Scott is in his thirties but the age difference doesn’t really come into play, in fact with the way Scott talks about his parents I kept thinking he was in his early twenties and Cal doesn’t come across as fifty, he just comes across as a crusty grumpy no age fisherman.

I recommend this to those who love stories of finding love during trying times, of determination to survive, of grabbing life by the throat and two men determined to be together.

Review: Andreas has served his father, the Black Dragon God, for thousands of years enforcing the laws for all paranormals. When his father asks him to protect a human from the vampires little does he know what he is about to walk into, as a vampire attempts to resurrect Cronus Andreas is made guardian to his twin nephews who also become targets and with gods causing trouble Andreas past comes into play and Andreas has a choice to make, his loyalty to his father and God or his love for his soul mate.

This is a fantastic fantasy world that immerses us in the world of Gods, Goddesses and paranormals. Andreas held his lover Kazarian in his arms as he died on the battlefield among the Spartans, only to have Ares appear before him, seconds too late to save Kazarian, but not too late to save Andreas from a similar fate because he is the son of the Black Dragon God Jarel. Now in this modern age he serves his father enforcing his laws, but there is an attempt to resurrect Cronus and overthrow Zeus, and Andreas is called upon to guard a mortal and his nephews to prevent it from happening. But the conspirators play dirty trying to force Andreas to do their bidding, but they also make a mistake by showing the involvement of a god or goddess.

I really enjoyed this story of mythical gods and goddesses and the world they live in, Andreas is only one of the main characters in this book with each character bringing a bit of their own story to the table weaving together a wonderful fantasy that has veiled hints for future couples, uncovers a conspiracy and is a touch violent. This is a well written story that draws you in feeding you bits and pieces and making you long for more. There are many characters that you get to know and you begin to wonder what their stories will be. Brandon, Demun, Vic, Apollo, Adonis and Odele along with Jarel, Andreas and Kazarian make this book vastly interesting.

While we don’t get the chance to see much of Andreas and Kazarian together because of the flow of the storyline, the time they do get together is incredible and when they come together in passion it is wonderful and passionate. There’s action and danger that is well described and fits perfectly into the story, the paranormal powers aren’t overused and it actually adds more to the story because of that. Drako has created a world that I want to know more about and although I personally don’t like M/F, I will still be reading the other books in this series because I need to know what happens next with Jarel and Zeus.

I recommend this book if you love paranormal, fantasy, battles and fights, tastefully placed humour, some fantastic love making, great characters, a wonderful storyline and an ending that is happy for Andreas and Kazarian, but leaves you wanting the stories of other characters.

The Dragon Witch

(The Dragon Hunters 02)

Victoria Damone is the daughter of the Black Dragon God, Jarel, and the goddess of magic and witchcraft, Hecate. Quick tempered and impatient, she strikes fear into the hearts of the rogue creatures rebelling against her father as well as the warlocks, servants of Prince of Darkness, Lucifer.

Ares, the god of war, is often misunderstood. Known only as a brutal god with an insatiable appetite for blood and destruction, as well as passing flings, the son of Zeus and Hera has spent most of his time defending Olympus from any and every threat.

Now the two meet and must combine forces. The Titan King, Cronus, has been resurrected by Lucifer and is quickly resurrecting his brethren to launch war against Zeus and all that stand with him. Not only this, but he’s even joined forces with the legendary beast Typhon, the only creature to ever come close to toppling the Olympian god king. As the gods prepare for an unavoidable war, Victoria must hunt one of the most powerful and cunning warlocks to serve under the Prince of Darkness and simultaneously train her nephew Brandon in her craft. Her pride demands that she do this alone, but Ares is not a god to be denied. Ares clearly has his eyes on Victoria, but can she trust the notoriously wild and unpredictable god’s intentions?

The war of the gods is imminent now, with Cronus restored to life and the Titans back at his side. But before the battle can begin, Odele must find her mortal twin brother, who had been captured by the forces of the vampire Kalos years before. She asks Hera for her brother’s whereabouts, and the god queen allows her to attempt to rescue him, but under the condition that she’s accompanied by Apollo.

Apollo has waited ages for Odele’s return to Olympus to heal the heart he’d broken ages before. The process of healing won’t be easy, and Odele’s heart is not the only heart to be healed. Both Apollo and Odele’s lives are at risk, as they join the god of darkness in a battles against two children of Gaea and Odele’s own brothers, Cronus and Typhon. Will Odele’s heart be healed, and most importantly, will anyone survive this unique healing process?

But things are never so simple. He has to get past the wolf’s insecurities in order to give them both a shot at true happiness

Demun wants to fight against his soul mate. He hates having a predetermined mate. And worse, his mate is the phoenix known to be unable to settle down. Vic, the phoenix in question, wasn’t fond of the idea either, but he’s been around enough to know that fighting against what your soul requires is pointless. He just needs a chance.

A king’s duty never ends, even when his kingdom changes. Vladimir Dracula is one of the most famous and misunderstood figures in all of history. One thing is true, he is a king, and he is a vampire. He is the true king and enforcer of the vampire race. Feared by all of his own kind, he is perhaps the most lethal of the Black Dragon God’s mortal born servants. At the same time, he personifies sex. None can resist his charms, save one.

Vax King is the Chosen of Hecate, the Heir of Mjolnir, and has no plans on a mate. When he’s called on to enter Fae lands, he’s surprised to find the legendary vampire there. Looking to aid the beautiful Fae, Anaya, and her soul mate, Galen, Vax must enter a world of sex of violence with only Vlad to accompany him. Here, there can be no denial, no hesitation. Only truth….and dominance.
A war is brewing in the Fae lands, as the fallen angels rise to lay claim to the power of their goddess, Verlaine and topple their higher brethren. Older than most, Vlad must accustom himself to having a soul mate, and use all his legendary power to stop the forces of darkness long believed to be controlled by him. A new kingdom is the prize, and none knows better than the famed Dracula that the secret to power lies in the blood.

Ten Mile Bottom

by

Teodora Kostova

Hitting rock bottom is just the beginning…
