Review: I’m going to sound so cheesy, but this was a naughty, naughty read. Made me giggle like stupid. What can I say, I find threesomes awesome, but this one was written in such a fun, fun way. Yeah! Made giggle on top of everything else…

Honestly, there’s nothing more plot-wise here. This is a story about a threesome relationship. Two of the guys used to be Marines once upon a time and Rig secretly misses that. So once in a while, when he’s alone, he explores this uniform fetish he’s developed, until one day he gets caught.

Imagine getting early home and finding your lover working himself. Now that is an invitation one can’t resist, and damn if Sean Michael doesn’t deliver a hot erotic scene to blow your mind. It’s playful, sensual, and sexy as hell. It had me verging between panting and giggling stupid at the whole deal.

So there, you want a fun little bite, this extremely short story is strongly recommended.

Blurb: Five years after an accident in the Army left Jim blind, he’s braving the summer heat and a new guide dog to walk in the 4th of July parade with the other Wounded Warriors. In Jim’s imagination, he finished the parade, got down on one knee in his uniform, and asked Milo The Question. But a touch of heatstroke wasn’t in his plan, and he still hasn’t found Milo in the crowded fairgrounds. It’s going to take perseverance, strength, and a little love from Milo to get Jim through this Dog Days March.

Review: Jim had thought it would be easy for him to walk the parade and find Milo at the end of it, but he hadn’t considered the heat and how strongly it would affect him. He doesn’t want to blow this up, doesn’t want to be trouble again, but his lover of four years never seems to mind. Anything you want is something Milo never says in vain, but means it completely. Well, what Jim wanted was for this to be a perfect day so he could pop the question. That won’t happen now. But, in the end, what is more perfect than the two of them together?

Such a lovely read this one, sweet and gentle, made out of the finest emotions. I loved its characters. Jim and his silent strength. His dignity and charm were so palpable; it was just so nice reading about him. And Milo, well you always get a certain respect for partners of veterans who stay strong and loving, beside them all the way in such unselfish way.

This quick story even though a bit melancholic was very enjoyable. Strongly recommended for the romantic souls out there.

Review:  Daryl Maven is a full-time law student and part-time teacher. He’s in a committed relationship with his long time boyfriend, Adam. They’ve talked about marriage, but Daryl has always found a reason not to take that step. After a heartfelt conversation with his mom, Daryl decides to propose to Adam. Of course he says yes, but he has to know why the change of heart. Before they can have a much-needed conversation, someone breaks into their home while Adam is at work and Daryl is asleep, completely violating Daryl in every way possible.

This was a hard one to read, I’ll warn you now. All be it was brief, the attack was still described in slightly vivid detail. And when Adam finds Daryl, oh my god, my heart was breaking for them. For Daryl for what he’d been through and for Adam as his heart was breaking for the man he loved. It doesn’t dominate the story, what does is the after affects the attack has not only both men as individuals, but as a couple as well. Daryl was already struggling with some things and the attack only compounds his struggle and morphs it into guilt, and he has nothing to feel guilty about!

Blurb:   Jonathan Mendoza used to live an even crazier life, partying with his tight-knit travelling performance troupe whenever he wasn’t on stage belly dancing. When his sick mother begged him to change his lifestyle, he agreed to try to live sober, but that change is hard. Neither is it easy to stop staring at Dean Winters after he nearly knocks the man over before a performance.

A former recluse, prone to panic attacks after surviving a traumatic accident, Dean isn’t Jonathan’s usual type. Still, Jonathan is irresistibly attracted to him, and decides to cure the itch with a one-night stand. But that night, he’s shaken by Dean’s kindness and consideration—something he’s not used to in a lover or a friend. His best friend, Rachel, who co-owns the troupe with Jonathan, sees Dean as a threat to their friendship and to the troupe—the dream they’ve worked together to build. She reveals a cruel and possessive streak that could do much greater damage on both fronts, and Jonathan realizes he will have to choose between the nomadic life he’s lived and the man who is stealing his heart.

Review: This is Jonathan’s story.   It is narrated in his voice.  Ms. Forcine’s development of Jonathan’s character is impeccable. In him, we find a flawed, drug and alcohol-addicted person, who for the sake of his mother, has decided to go into recovery without seeking the support of his dance troupe, whom he thinks of as family.  This illustrates the strength of Jonathan’s character and his ability to overcome many types of adversity.  Jonathan is then introduced to Dean, an equally flawed character who has panic attacks.  While the reason for his panic attacks is not explained until quite late in the story, these two damaged men collide and there begins the roller coaster ride.  Over the course of the novel, we learn that Jonathan is so much more than we first see through his relationship with Dean and other secondary characters. He is at his core, good, decent and honest.  Instead of a man who is slowly unraveling due to personal crisis, we find a man who battles adversity to find his own redemption through love and acceptance.  We feel this through the beautifully crafted character sketches of Ms. Forcine’s. This allows the reader to bond with both Jonathan and Dean and to root relentlessly for them to succeed.

When one reads a novel, one wants to be transported and be able to feel like we are walking side by side with the characters, feel, and experience what the characters are feeling and experiencing. Ms Forcine makes the reader anticipate the HEA of her heroes. Instead of a simple road to happiness, she has done a wonderful job of taking the experiences of drug addiction, loneliness, self-flagellation, severe anxiety, dysfunctional friendships, betrayal and crippling fear, to show us  how Dean and Jonathan save each other in the most beautiful and rewarding way. While doing this with her plotline, we experience great descriptive visuals of the setting and environment, which only enhance the tale she is weaving.

If it sounds like there is a lot going on in the story – there IS. Is it handled well? DEFINITELY! At no point does the reader feel overwhelmed or the need to suspend their belief at what is happening. Everything is real and believable. And you can actually foretell some of the things to come, but Ms Forcine handles it with such aplomb that it is not overly predictable and pedantic. Now truth be told, there is a high degree of predictability in the story, but it is so well written and crafted that you actually enjoy reading and experiencing what the characters are experiencing. The reader is allowed to tag along with Jonathan and Dean through their interaction with secondary characters in the book who are also so well written that they drive the story seamlessly forward.

Thank you ,Ms Forcine, for taking all the key components of a great story: plot, setting, characterization and the rise to conflict and eventual resolution and then weaving your characters through the plotline for a very entertaining and satisfying story.

Blurb: Forbidden love and the risk of execution dance together, a dangerous waltz of passion and terror. When the nightmare comes true for the ambassador, the king must use every bit of his cunning and wit or they will both face the sword.

The king and the ambassador first appeared in my last year’s Charity Sip, Slow Awakening.

Product Link: http://www.torquerebooks.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=79_111&products_id=4002

Review: Part of the Charity Sip Blitz package.

Sequel to Slow Awakening, Final Awakening follows the King and the Ambassador in yet another adventure.

This time the King visits the kingdom of king Oban in order to find his lover and perhaps persuade him to follow him back to his own kingdom. His epiphany, that their relationship goes beyond mere lust and passion, has him in a state of eagerness. After all this could be the beginning of his happily ever after with the man who owns him body and soul.

However, the danger of their relationship doesn’t lie far from dark corners, and when the King finally reaches his destination, he understands all too well how true that is.

I love it when an author manages to spin such a tale in such a short story. The tension drawn from the danger the characters faced was well felt and from the very start of the story I got engaged and slightly trapped in its web.

What made a huge impression to me though was the fact that I finished the story and started writing this review before I realized that I have no idea what the characters are named. It’s just the King and the Ambassador, and I was going through the book once again in the slight chance I missed their damned names however impossible that seems. But there you have it, and it says a good deal about the enthralling way this tale is told.

Now there are elements of BDSM implied in the story, and the pair even engages in one such scene. However if you’re expecting a proper BDSM scene you might be disappointed because the way I saw it, it was lighter than light, and the author simply uses it to showcase the type of relationship and bond that exist between these two men.

Bottom end though, I loved it. I still want to know their names, because I feel a bit detached, and they are a bit faceless too, but I still loved it.

Review: Hot damn! This was one hell of a horny read. Uhm! Excuse me while I fan myself.

Right, so now that that’s done, let me get to the story.

What is it with authors and teasing? Hmm? Not that I mind, oh no, but this entire read is a teas. And it’s official; I have a fetish about stories that feature sexy men in woman’s clothes.

So here we have Jason working the EMS/First Aid booth at Pride when a sexy lady in a most alluring walk/prowl walks by. The gorgeous woman has both his and his partner’s heads turned around, but when a dog tangles in her feet causing her to fall it is Jason who jumps at the opportunity to offer First Aid.

And feel free to let you imagination run wild. Have you read a more blatant come on? Here it is, screaming loud and clear “you turn me on,” and damn it if it did had the same effect for this reader.

Moving on, this story for me was brilliant; I loved it and loved its characters. Jason is the most non-judgmental, sweet, sexy horn dog I’ve read recently, making me wish all people were just. Like. Him! As for Casey, God the imagery of that man is so damn sexy and hot, he could show Hell the meaning of true fire. He was not so much drag as he was just plain beautiful both as a guy and impersonating a woman. I adored him.

The story itself verged from extremely erotic to awfully sweet and that was a damn feat to accomplish.

So there you have it, if you like me, like this type of stories, and this short is just the thing to get you hot and bothered in no time.

Review:  SHORT, SEXY AND STEAMY!! *fans self while whipping the steam off my kindle*

Kevin is having very erotic dreams. Dreams that he wakes from feeling a familiarity to, but not grasping, at the same time. As the story unfolds, the reader gets bits and pieces of Kevin’s dreams as well as his reality. Once his past comes into play, his dreams take on a whole new meaning within the context of the story.

Kevin was happy and committed to his boyfriend Hank. The two were not shy in their relationship, and putting on a show was not out of the norm for them. I can’t elaborate more on this aspect of the story, as it is a short story indeed, and I might just give every dirty detail away. I will say this was a very erotic, explicit, and sexy dreamscape. Kevin has built a new life in a new city, but the ghost of his pasts haunts him. And soon the lines between reality, fantasy, and dreams begin to blur.

Oh hell yes I recommend this one! It’s my three favorite colors and it’s downright dirty dirty. The only reason this book is getting 4 stars instead of 5 from me is the use of the term “piss slit.” Okay, yes I am a straight female. But still! It turns my blood that is running on boiling ice-cold when that term is used, there is absolutely nothing sexy about it. Please, for the love of god, let’s ban together, and stop the use of this term henceforth. Aside from that, it was sexy as hell and fantastic!!

Review: This was a nice little story about Aaron, a fire captain, and Zak, an artist. The men are already in a partnership that was described in a very appealing way. I liked the fact that these guys were so playful with each other even as they were together for a long time.

Their everyday life was quite normal, but the occasional charity event made for some fun and teasing. One such even was the car wash the fire department pulled for homeless kids. Now, the visual effect of said scene was hot. I sat there reading and re-reading this particular scene daydreaming and well, letting my imagination roam wild.

I, however, was not the only one affected, as the characters took advantage of the heat accumulating and next thing I’m aware of is this really hot bedroom scene were all the teasing of the day is let loose in a very erotic scene.

But, despite the short length, this read was not all fun and games. A fireman’s job has its bad days and a graphically detailed accident scene brought us back to reality and how ugly it can sometimes be. If only we all had a solid relationship like Aaron and Zak.

I liked this story a lot. As said above, it was fun, it was erotic, and it had a dose of reality in it that appeals to me. This ends up being a very enjoyable comfort read. Recommended!

Review: This book is part of a series and must be read in order. Stefan wasn’t mentally perfect when he was alive but now with his spirit free of human restrictions he has grown in leaps and bounds, and with everyone around him, both living and spirit, finding love he begins to long for love himself. Jordan and Gideon lose their lives in a war zone, still stuck on Earth the friends go to Jordan’s hometown puzzled and confused as to why they haven’t moved on. In McKinton they discover more than they bargained for in the form of sweet and sexy Stefan but first they have to prove their worth to Conner, Stefan’s protector.

Ah sweet Stefan’s story, this is one book that I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. We first met Stefan in Aftermath and discovered what had happened to him. If you haven’t read Aftermath, then there is a brief summation from Stefan so you wouldn’t feel like you are missing something. Now, Stefan has friends and for the most part loves his new circumstances. But, he now longs for love like all his friends have. Gideon and Jordan head to McKinton when they find themselves spirits, they have been friends for years and have shared men but have never confessed to each other the longing they both have for the other. Meeting Stefan has both men longing for the sexy mischievous spirit but they get off to a bad start and Stefan has them both confronting their feelings for each other.

This is a great little book with some mischievous high-jinx from Stefan, a spirit brawl, sexy men admitting how they feel and a very protective spirit making sure his friend is treated right. Gideon and Jordan have always fancied each other but decided their friendship was too important to chance more, but now they decide to explore their attraction but they both have their eye on sexy Stefan. Once Stefan overcomes the first disastrous encounter with Jordan and Gideon, he begins to think that he could find love, but when both Gideon and Jordan find it hard to confess how they feel for each other Stefan thinks he has lost his chance.

I really enjoyed this story and was so glad to see Stefan getting his dream and he is as wonderful as ever. Jordan and Gideon make a great addition to the spirits of McKinton and Stefan sure knows how to handle them. The way the story played out was great with the three of them sorting their problems out under the watchful eye of Conner, although I was surprised that Stefan managed to end up in so much trouble.

I will recommend this to those who love spirits finding love, some great action, some mischief and fun, hot sexy men having steamy sex and a sweet ending.

Review: Adrian is a Concert Flutist and pretty full of himself.  He is also very gifted in music and follows his heart and the music. Sometimes that gets him in trouble.  He loses his job in the orchestra after one of these mishaps and the conductor/ composer threatens to ruin him for changing his music. Sebastian, Adrian’s best friend, tells him he can get him a spring job at the upcoming Ren faire as a Satyr selling flutes, it would be fun and also give him plenty of time to reinvent himself and work on his own music.

I love the renaissance and the modern takes on the Ren faires .There is just something magical about this topic. This story is quite magical even though it is not a paranormal or historical but a modern-day take on the popular festivals. This way you get a bit of both worlds.

I love a good character driven story and this one is exceptional in that department. All the characters are interesting, easy to relate to even though Adrian is not your run of the mill person. He is selfish, conceited but does have a good heart. As the story, moves on I found myself liking him more and more. Also in here you have animals and this one particularly elephants.  The elephants were fabulous and really added a wonderful dimension to the tale. And then there are children.  Yes, Ed is gay but has a son that is five and a handful.  Eddy adds a sweetness and charm to the already great story.

I highly recommend this if you like Renaissance festival, elephants, musicians, artistic people, good fathers, children, and a very good romance.

Maybe even more so when they end up on a coffee date. Patrick’s disabilities, caused by the accident that took him out of the Army, combined with Jasper’s lingering resentment over the secrecy that eventually broke them up, make for a rocky first date. Review: Well… damn! Talk about a quick read to rip your heart out and you shall get it. Jeez, I’m still a bit sad over this read, even as it ended well the happiness came hand in hand with the sadness and leaving a weird blend of emotions in its wake.

So the blurb says more than enough. I only want to add that for such a short read both characters had a great appeal for me. I was drawn to them, Patrick because he makes you want to hold and love him, and Jasper because he’s so freaking cool, and toward the end there he was also so freaking erotic that makes you wanna jump his bones.

Lovely writing, well set flashbacks, and a great story. Yeah, if you’re looking for a read with a full range of emotions this is it. Recommended!

Once things start to unravel, they do so with alarming speed, and he finds himself riding shotgun in a rented convertible with his new sworn enemy faster than he can say, “I want my old life back.”

Review: I debated back and forth between a four and five on this. I have to say it started about a bit slow and bounced around so much I wasn’t sure if I was in his now or past. After a few chapters, it finally clears up and it’s the present and s…t starts hitting the fan. Be prepared because things really go haywire and then you won’t want to put the book down.

Fox has the perfect life or so he thinks. He has been with the love of his life and husband for twenty years and the relationship is perfect. He has his dream job though there are rumours the airline will go out of business he doubts it since there have been hiring a lot of new people to make the luxurious trips  even better for the clients.  He has money in the bank, a beautiful condo in Seattle and a high limit credit card. What more could he want.  He sees a chance to take a flight that will mesh with his husband Jeremy’s and decides to surprise him.  In Miami, the stuff all starts hitting the fan and Fox is forced into one heck of a reality check.

Ok I couldn’t help but love Fox. This story really had the twists and turns. At times, you wanted to cry with Fox and at times, you wanted to laugh. You really should read this for a good chuckle even though it at someone’s misfortune. You learn a lot about conceit, confidence, deceit and true love.

I highly recommend this if you like a heartfelt romance, twists and turns, fate and some fairly hot mansex.

Blurb: Cadet Lieutenant Mike Ruggiero loves Future Service members of America summer camp: fresh air, exercise, tactical training, wilderness survival…, and cute guys. But he’s trying not to think about that. Here, he’s just a normal soldier. But when a rumor gets out that someone in Ruggiero’s squad is gay, it looks like all the coming out drama from back home is about to come crashing back.

Review: Part of the Charity Sip Blitz package.

I just loved this short story, again wishing for more because there really, really should be more about Mike and Dante.

After some troubled years in high school where coming out was not all love and sunshine, Cadet Lieutenant Mike Ruggiero is finally finding a family in FSA camp, bonding with his squad members and actually forgetting all about gay, straight etc. All it matters is his training and he feels great about it, until rumors of a gay guy existing in camp started spreading.

“Here we go again,” he thinks and fear of the same dark times he lived in high school covered him, only to vanish in thin air when his entire squad seemed supportive. And just as he was starting to feel elated that his friends were so cool with him, some negativity comes from one of his squad members. Dante is not appreciating Mike “claiming” to be gay that much…

I just loved it. It was interesting, it was griping, it made want more and more, and Dante, oh man, this character had me screaming inwardly at the author saying: “forget about the MC and focus a bit more on Dante for crying out loud.”

So no, this was not the hot, steamy, stimulating erotica, it was a rather sweet and slightly emotional read, but that was more than ok with me. Strongly recommended!

Review:  Danny is blind but extremely independent. He lost his sight in a car accident that claimed the life of his boyfriend John. Over the past two years, he’s learned the definition of resilience, becoming self-sufficient. The downside to his independence is the loneliness that comes with it. His world is a constant dark, aside from the ghosts he has been able to see since the accident.

Logan is a ghostwriter. He pens controversial biographies for famous people under the guise that they are writing the book. His latest client is Danny. Logan is confident that he can discover the truth about Danny’s “ability” to see ghosts and unmask him to the world for the con man he truly is. The instant and overwhelming attraction to Danny comes as quite a shock to him, but it quickly becomes evident that the attraction is mutual.

Throughout the book Logan, struggles with his attraction to Danny coupled with his doubts about Danny’s gift. Danny is so tired of going it alone, he longs for someone to share his life with. Slowly the author unravels each man’s past and you learn more about why Danny value’s his independence, and why Logan has issues trusting anyone. At the same time Raines builds a bond, creates a thread that ties their futures together irrevocably. But there is a ghost that haunts them, that one spirit that won’t let go of the very thin line that keeps them in our world. While Logan begins to believe Danny’s claims to see the dead, he’s beginning to fear for Danny’s safety.

Sight Unseen is paranormal romance with an edge, not a twist, an edge! Raines has done the research and easily had me seeing through the eyes of a blind man. There are a couple of twists at the end that had me holding my breath, anxious to hear the outcome. Speaking of hearing, the audio version was a great narration. It helps when a narrator can nail the personality and nuances of each character. My only complaint about the narration would be he read straight through, so at times, the scene would change and it would take a little time for me to realize, since he didn’t pause between appropriately. But for the most part, I was enthralled with the performance of the story.

This is a must read for those hopeless romantics that still believe in love at first sight. And the guy on guy action is sensual, passionate, and overwhelming. Sweaty man sex, ghosts, a pissed off poltergeist and a HEA! What’s not to love?!

Review: Aiden is a straight man who loves extreme sports. He finds himself about to die, when Matt rescues him. While Matt is trying to save him Matt knows, he needs to keep Aiden awake so he does it by heavy flirting. The suggestive things Matt says does more than piss Aiden off.

This is a good story of adventure and love. It shows that you can find your Mr Right anywhere and at the most inopportune times. As with any short story, you get small glimpses of each character and not a lot of backstory. The story is well done, interesting concise and easy to follow.

I recommend this to anyone that likes, mountain climbing, extreme sports, risk takers, coming out, and falling in love, (sorry couldn’t resist the pun).

Review:  Short, Sexy and Steamy! Are there any other colors?

Aaron Buckley is a closeted pro hockey player with an attitude. One wrong decision lands him in hot water, and drops him down to the minors. He ends up back in his hometown surrounded by rookies and his ex, Zach.

Zach is a sports writer and, unlike Aaron, he’s completely open about his sexuality. In fact, it was Aaron’s closet that ultimately came between them some fifteen years ago. Zach has never forgotten his first love, so when he and Aaron come face to face again after many years, sparks fly. Literally.

I absolutely loved the concept of the story. The closeted pro hockey player who is strong fierce and independent on the outside, but so uncomfortable with his sexuality that he suffers from that constant inner turmoil. And then there is Zach who is comfortable with who he is inside and out. The two of them balance each other.

The story was written in present tense which can be hard to follow sometimes, and I think that the condensing this story for a novella hindered the character development a bit. Aside from that, it was a fun, short and sexy read. I really enjoyed the scene in the hallways of the arena, one word redefined, quickie! But I was a teensy bit disappointed that I didn’t get to see what exactly these two big boys could do in the confines of the car. Hot, sexy, sweaty men and Hockey, I’m In!!

Review: This story is very cute and sweet. Although the main character is a homicide policeman, it lacks the angst that usually follows them. This focuses more on the sweet beginning of a relationship.

Kyle is a very nice character and quite hot as well, but the fact that his job is demanding, always butts in when least expected, and on top it’s quite dangerous has left Kyle with a series of failed dates and relationships that died before they even started. Until he met Roman.

Now Roman is a most eclectic character. He’s French and he has that charm following him. He’s the dream Kyle never dared having; calm, sweet, understanding, and incredibly hot.

What I mostly liked in this story though was their first date. It was as awkward as a real life first date goes. Loved it, loved the fact that not everything was immaculate and that a great dose of reality was included.

As I said a very sweet read that makes you go all “awww” in the end. Recommended!

Review:  Wyatt Gauden’s had a wonderful job, but too much energy. So, on the side he was a burglar. Wyatt’s best friend, Reyna, hates her boss and somehow gets him to agree that she needed a little revenge. Breaking into Jack Azurri’s home got him more than he bargained for. Love, little bit of anger, and some pain was just part of what he received. Helping Jack find the answers to his sister’s death got them just a little closer to the truth.

At first, it was hard to get into the story, because it seemed that there was more description then needed, instead of the story line itself. It turned out to be a very good story though. I laughed through most of it and parts of it were a little disturbing. When Jack interrupts Wyatt’s attempt, his language isn’t something I would think would come out of a wealthy business owner.

Review: Part of the Charity Sip Blitz package.

This story while it enticed me terribly with the psychic characters set in the WWII era also left me unsatisfied with its end.

Honestly I loved it all, Sam and Charlie, the Circle, the idea of blending WWII with paranormal activity. It was all so enticing, had me wrapped in its web instantly. But the fact that it was too short for this sort of plot, the fact that there was a great need for space and more development for the story to have a full impact on you, and the end that was so abrupt that left a hole in my feeling of this book, made me rate it so low.

I would have loved this idea to have been told in a full novel, or at least a novella. As it was it simply left me hollow, an emotion I don’t really appreciate after a read.
