Blurb: Donny had finally come out to his father, hoping for acceptance. His father, the mayor, had cared more about re-election. Donny suddenly finds himself homeless, and on the street with a few dollars to his name. Face first in a gutter, after drowning his sorrows in cheap booze and cheaper sex, Donny is saved by Officer Peter Parker, a straight-laced, by the book man who is everything that Donny wasn’t.

At first, Donny tries to use him, just as he had used everyone else in his life, but he soon discovers that he has feelings for Peter. To win Peter’s love, Donny believes that he can change, that he can learn to be the man who Peter deserves. There are obstacles to his goal, though, life itself trying to trip him up and make him revert back to the selfish man that he used to be and a father who will stop at nothing to remove a son who is still too much of an embarrassment.

Review: Donny Kirkpatrick is the handsome son a rich man who cuts him off financially after coming out to his father. He starts a downhill spiral due to his father’s reaction, by drinking and having sex with strangers. Meeting sexy Officer Peter Parker changes his life. He struggles with himself determined to turn his life around for the better with the help of Peter’s brother, Dan.

Officer Peter Parker is the sexy cop who takes Donny home instead of arresting him and offers him a place to stay for the time being. Peter is a good man who tries his best to help those in need. Peter starts to have feelings for Donny.

Very emotional story. I liked how Donny, even though he thought so little about himself, was determined to change the way he was. Peter and Dan were always there for him when he needed them till he could stand on his own two feet. The intimate scenes between Peter and Donny were hot.

Blurb: Mackey’s fragile recovery from his bout with self-destruction is complicated even further by his feelings for Trav—and Trav’s feelings back. Trav and Mackey struggle to find a balance between Mackey’s recovery and their growing attraction. Trav decides to make a rare leap of faith—but can Mackey find enough faith in himself to make it through life in the spotlight and a visit to the past that almost destroyed him?

Review: I believe this installment in this serial is what one would call, the calm before the storm.

Mackey has made it out of rehab and is finally back home with his family, and Trav. Though Trav is wary of entering into a relationship with the younger and volatile musician, the attraction they have to each other will not be denied. Trav concedes that he will try to be more than friends and manager for Mackey, but they are going to take it slow. Trav courts Mackey and shows him that there is more to life than sex, drugs and rock & roll. There is love, tenderness, passion and control.

Sad news from home almost sends Mackey into a tailspin, but Trav is there by his side, steadfast and strong, helping Mackey come to terms with it in his own way. But there is something inside of Mackey that is slightly broken, a piece of his soul that can only be tamed with touch of another man. He can see the truth in what Trav is saying that they need to date and be boyfriends for a while before they throw sex into the mix, especially with Mackey still being raw from rehab.

But there is a thirst deep down inside Mackey that can only be quenched with Trav taking every part of him and making him his, completely.

Compared to the other parts of this saga to date, this was a very timid installment. It was nice for a change though, to see Mackey being loved and cherished by Trav. The inner workings of their relationship are quite different and I always wonder how it will play out on paper. Trav is obviously Mackey’s strength, and it was a joy to see him lose that control he keeps such a tight hold on for a change. I fear though, that there are going to be surmountable roadblocks ahead for these two, which is just how Lane rolls.

I’m also loving the ‘bonus scenes’ that come with each part of the serial. With each one we get a deeper look into the mindset of certain secondary characters, this time around it was from Blake’s POV. Oh boy, now that could be a juicy storyline indeed! Can’t say more, you’ll have to grab a copy and read for yourself. I have to say that I love this hard-core story, and I look forward to the next part each week. If you haven’t read any yet, definitely get caught up, but start with part 1.

The question now is how to get the unicorns back to Eden, as well as solve the mystery of who has stolen them to begin with. Review: Sexy Samuel is sent to rescue the kidnapped unicorns. While there, he meets his other half, handsome Jordan. He finds the one responsible for kidnapping the unicorns and brings him to the Queen of Eden. With help of Jordan, he frees the unicorns of the cursed halters and opens a gateway to send them home after he closes the gate that Don opened to begin with without his knowledge.

Wonderfully written adventurous and magical read from start to finish. Samuel and Jordan worked well together to help the unicorns. The intimate scene between Jordan and Samuel was hot.

Great read.

Blurb: A twenty-something paramedic suffering from PTSD and a failing relationship with his high school sweetheart becomes embroiled in the tragic life of a young, gay man brutally beaten, raped, and left for dead.

Kane Abel can’t help falling for his caregiver, the handsome paramedic who saves his life, but he’s resistant. The one time Kane threw caution to the wind, he was left with a wired jaw and a tracheotomy. He can’t take much more hurt. But with his attacker’s promise to return, Kane lives in a constant state of fear, and with the ever-present paramedic, arousal.

Garrett Young struggles with the question of his sexuality, unable to get Kane out of his mind even as he fights against the demise of his long-time engagement with his girlfriend Amanda. Every day is complicated by his ongoing battle with PTSD and alcoholism, compounded by his fear for Kane’s life.

Purchase Link: http://www.loose-id.com/saving-kane.html

Review: Kane Abel is violently attacked and left on the steps of his apartment building to die. Thankfully, a neighbour finds him and calls the police, and then an angel saves him.

Kane has always used his super model good looks to his advantage, but after the attack leaves him severely scared mentally, physically and emotionally, he’s out of sorts. He can’t go home alone. His attacker promised him he would be back for him. He can’t work with a tube in his throat and a gash across his face. When his saving angel volunteers to care for him for a while so he can heal, Kane is hesitant. Garrett is tall, dark and handsome and does things to Kane’s libido that shouldn’t be possible considering what he just went through. None the less, Garrett penetrates his defenses with his trustworthy smile and flirtatious attitude.

Garrett Young is just as damaged and screwed up inside as Kane is. His mother died in a fire when Garrett was just a child, trying to get to him, so he’s blamed himself every day of his life since. He became a fire fighter to try to quiet the demons that fire left inside him, but an accident on the job left him scared physically as well. He is drawn to the broken down kindred spirit he sees in Kane.

The fact that Kane is the most beautiful thing Garrett has ever laid eyes on, beaten and scared or not, certainly adds to the attraction. But Garrett is straight, and engaged. To spite the mountain of reasons these two should not be together, attraction wins in the end. There is still that pesky serial killer out there to contend with, and the man doesn’t seem to want to let Kane live, much less let him go.

I’m of mixed emotions about this book. It was a very, very dark storyline, graphic and indecent at times. I was disturbed when Garrett had sex with Kane just days after he was so brutally raped, attacked and left for dead. Another glitch for me was the complete 180 that Donovan did there at the end, as well as Garrett’s dad. There were aspects of this story that were so unnerving. I think that I need therapy after reading it.

That being said, the mystery and suspense were spectacular. This book is worthy of an episode of Criminal Minds. Rakes brilliantly wove the characters together in this game of cat and mouse, and left me truly wondering until almost the last page if they would catch the sick bastard or not. And even if they did, would Kane survive? I enjoyed the odd romance that grew between Kane and Garrett and how they wound up saving each other in a way in the end.

I have to put it out there, if you have triggers, be sure to read the synopsis and reviews for this story before diving in. There are scenes of rape, murder and brutality. I’m not even kidding about this being a script for Criminal Minds! If you like the murder mystery, mind fuck type of stories that are deeply rooted in reality, then you’ll like the intensity of this story.

Review: Short. Why yes, yes we are missing two colors there, aren’t we.

Brendan has a crush on Alan, I think, and he doesn’t want his best friend Alex to know. Alex doesn’t like Alan very much, but he wants to support his friend. Then somehow, they all end up in a tunnel or the subway, and then you learn all the friends have a secret that could be deadly. Okay now someone is having sex against the wall in the dark tunnel, and it’s a little bit sexy BUT, I still couldn’t really tell you who was having sex.

I read this book, twice, and I’m still confused. The names of characters ran together and even after two runs, I couldn’t completely tell them apart. The author went from using first names to last names and there were entirely too many characters for 17 pages.

This seems to be more of a draft for a book than an actual book. I’m sorry guys but this one did not work for me.

Hank is a study in contrast: he lives for the rush of climbing and cutting trees almost as much as he loves the peace he finds exploring the mountains he calls home. Scott’s attraction to Hank is immediate and mind-blowing, and it’s what Scott has always wanted: to know what it’s like to love someone he can’t live without. Scott needs to know if Hank’s true feelings will be a roar of passion or simply a quiet friendship, one that doesn’t match Scott’s devotion.

But it may be too late… Scott simply can’t help himself from falling hard for Hank.

Review: Scott Alan is a gay singer, songwriter that left home as soon as he was able. He wasn’t running from his past or his sexuality, he just didn’t want to be in the place where his parents had died any longer. He and his brother Brian are very close. He basically raised Scott after their mother died. Then when their father died in a logging accident, Brian took over the family business. Scott rushes back home when he gets the news that his brother has been in an accident.

Hank Ballam is a wild card. He works hard and plays harder. He loves his job working for Brian Alan as a logger, but he loves to party and drink as well. After an accident leaves Brian hospitalized, Hank blames himself, as do some of their co-workers. When Scott arrives and witness’s the way Hank is being treated, he quickly comes to his defense. There is just something about Hank that makes Scott want to protect him.

Scott decides to stay on indefinitely to take care of his brother, and spend more time getting to know Hank. A swim in the lake during a camping trip starts a whirlwind love affair for these two. What started out as nothing serious soon ends with both men falling, hard. When Hank is injured on the job Scott will realize just how deep his love for the big burly logger goes.

This is not your typical straight guy just miraculously turns gay story. Hank confesses to Scott that he’s messed around with a couple of guys over the years. He’s had an active sex life with woman, he just never quite felt comfortable with them though. Let me tell you that these two cannot keep their hands off each other! They are passionate, sexy, and loving. Seriously, when they kiss it could melt the walls it’s so hot.

Narrated by Charlie David, and I do love Charlie. His little noises, grunts and pants while he’s conveying the story are just spot on, as they should be. Well written as a book and well versed in audio, I highly recommend this story. Sweet, sexy and endearing. Falling is a perfect little love story.

Review: I have been a fan of Tara Lain for quite a while. When Outing the Quarterback showed up I was extremely excited. Getting a new story from Ms. Lain is always a nice surprise. Also, football was involved and that only added to the appeal for me. I am familiar with the writing style of this author. She has a big precedence for happy endings, and her overall knack for nailing a story is spot on. This one did not disappoint and IMO, she scored a touchdown bringing me much enjoyment from start to finish.

As the blurb accurately describes the story, we are introduced quickly to Will, who is a star football player. He lives his days trying to please his father. Always has the girl on his arm and is studying business like his Dad wants. But, what he wants is to be a painter. He is really good at it, which pulls him that much more into finding any way possible to make it his reality.

He is gay, has known he is gay for several years. Even though he dates and keeps a steady girlfriend, the girls cannot give him what he needs so desperately. He has been paying a prostitute to meet him in a bathroom, near the park, so he can get some much needed release. He knows this will more than likely blow up in his face but he needs this. Also, on the down low he is taking painting classes on the side. He is hoping he may win a scholarship, which would cover his tuition, therefore, allowing him to break away from his father.

On the complete opposite side of the track is Noah. He has also applied for the same scholarship as Will. He has no family to fall back on. He was in the foster care program for years leaving no one to help him except himself. He works more than one job to be able to pay his rent and his tuition. He has been spending some time with the professor of the class but has reservations about it. The professor makes it quite clear he wants to pursue Noah and take him to bed.

Noah, on the other hand, is afraid what may happen in regards to the scholarship if someone found out. Or, more importantly, if things didn’t work between them. Continually refusing his advances is only getting harder for Noah, and it’s not making the professor very happy either.

When Will and Noah come face to face in class, there is an immediate connection. He thinks Noah is the most beautiful person he has ever seen, and he may have said that loud enough for everyone to hear, including Noah. Will tries hard to get to know his infatuation, but Noah is not so free with his time or his patience. He recognizes immediately that Will is from the upper side of town and that he is a jock. His nickname for Will is Jockoid, which is pretty funny. He is, however, interested in having a little fun with Will, in the bedroom.

No way could anything ever work between them as they have too many differences. Plagued by another problem he still has no solution for and that is the Professor. Noah has worked long and hard to pay for school and get his education. He will not let anyone come between his goals. He has learned Will has also applied for the scholarship and that worries him. He’s worried because Will is actually someone who could take away his chances at winning because he is that good.

As Noah juggles his school, work, and suitors, he may realize too late that the professor is not happy about Will. What that means for either one of them, he doesn’t know. It’s not looking good, and that just won’t work.

This story is so funny and had me laughing aloud in a few places. The storyline is one that always pulls my attention and the author definitely had it with this one. The two MC’s exhibit some wonderful qualities and they both seem to mature as the storyline unfolds. The author gave each one a voice and together or apart, I connected with both of them. The issues they faced are issues that so many people face today. So, not only could this be real, but also she puts a lot of emphasis on the dialogue setting you in the scene. You find yourself cheering both boys on.

The story moved along at a fast pace keeping me glued to the pages from start to finish. Smiling from ear to ear on many occasions helped to keep me grounded never losing interest within the story. When Will and Noah take off to the bedroom, they have incredible chemistry. Their sexual encounters are not only passionate, hot, and sexy, but there is humour, which, for me, is a big plus.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone because it’s fun, it’s fast paced, the sex is very hot, and the storyline flows effortlessly. This is not my first book from Ms. Lane and this story only cements her works even further into my psyche that says to me, Get this, must read.

Blurb: Know when to show your hand…and when to hedge your bets.

Randy Jensen can’t stand to just sit by and watch as a mysterious man throws money away on the roulette wheel, especially since Randy’s got his own bet going as to the reason this guy is making every play like it’s his last day on earth. The man’s dark desperation hits Randy right in the gut. Half of him warns that getting involved is a sucker’s bet, and the other half scrambles for a reason—any reason—to save the man’s soul.

Ethan Ellison has no idea what he’s going to do with himself once his last dollar is gone—until Randy whirls into his life with a heart-stealing smile and a poker player’s gaze that sees too much.
Randy draws Ethan into a series of wagers that leads to a scorching kiss by midnight, but he isn’t the only one with an interest in Ethan’s vulnerability. Soon they’re both taking risks that not only play fast and loose with the law, but with the biggest prize of all: their hearts.

This book has been previously published and has been revised from its original release.

Warning: This story contains high-stakes poker, gangsters with a weakness for kittens, foursomes, and kinky consensual sex.

Review: This is a perfect second installment in the Special Delivery Series! I absolutely fell for Randy in Special Delivery and knew that spitfire of a man needed his HEA, I just wasn’t sure how, or who would pull that amazing feat off. Double Blind lets us get to know Randy in a different way, and for a while apart from Sam and Mitch. But don’t worry. This just wouldn’t work without the lovely newly married couple and a fun foursome!

Randy shows his submissive, yet assertive side, his hostess skills, and his heart in this sexy story. He takes a risk on a defeated heart, by laying out all his cards for Ethan Ellison. Ethan is the perfect angry, wounded man, in need of a wake-me-up experience and Randy surely gives it to him in the form of risky business and hi-octane sex.

As Randy teaches Ethan the skills he employs in his night job, that of card shark, he begins to see the strength in him come shining through. Problem is Ethan doesn’t trust, not the people he works for, not the stability of the job, and not that he would have a future with Randy. Thanks to some of Randy’s close and critically important friends, Sam and Mitch, Ethan begins to loosen up, see what a home could be, and trust.

While Ethan is regaining his confidence, Randy begins to worry he’s gotten too big for his britches and may get into deep trouble with the casino and the retired gangster he initially sought out for help. But when all seems to be tumbling down around them both, Sam, Mitch and the rest of the gang come together to lay it all down and gamble on a new future. Will it work, or will all be lost? You’ll just have to read and find out.

This book is fun, fast paced, hot and kinky, yet soft and sweet as a baby kitten. Hearts are broken and mended, and lives are saved and rebuilt! This whole series is a winner in my book!

Review: This is book three of the Willow Creek Ranch books. These do stand-alone fine, though you will want to go back and meet all the other characters.

I love this series. Taking Chance is the story of Chance Carter. We met him briefly in book 2. He is a friend of Holden’s. He finds himself in a bit of trouble on his job after giving Holden a bit of information. He is forced on leave so he decides to go visit Holden at willow Creek Ranch to wind down and try to decide what he wants to do with his future, since he isn’t happy with his job or life.

Bryan is new to the book and series. He was a hospital corpsman in the navy, but was caught with the admiral’s son. He was dismissed from service, took an OTH discharge to avoid court-martial and spare his lover. He finds himself with little money, no job and a broken down car, stranded in Arizona on his way to Vegas.

He stops in the VA office where he is introduced to Ty from Willow Springs Creek Ranch. Ty also being from the navy offers him a job, a place to stay and meals included in the pay. When he gets there, he finds his cabin is shared with Chance.

I really liked this book. I was hoping for Chances story and wasn’t disappointed. I really like Bryan too. This is a story of two men facing difficult changes in their lives and also a new unexpected relationship that also throws monkey wrenches in each other’s plans. I love the story lines in these books and how they do connect. I was happy to get a bit more Ty. There is a bit of mystery and suspense that introduces a new threat that I hope to see more of in the next few books. I do have to say the story didn’t go like I thought it was and I was surprised.

I can’t wait to see Chads story.

If you like, a great series, hot cowboys, secret agents, SEALS, mystery, intrigue, romance and some pretty hot man-sex this is for you.

Warning: you will look at s’mores in a new light. YUUUUMMM!

Review: If you are familiar with Anna Martin then you know what an outstanding author she is. I’ve read several of her previous titles and have loved them all. Summer Son is a little different from what I have read in the past, from her, which is a good thing. I like to read different stories by the same author when they have more than one style to choose from. This, in my opinion, certainly fit within that guideline. The story takes off rather fast and it’s not long into it before a love connection is in the works.

Ellis is raising his son, Harrison, by himself and quite honestly is a little overwhelmed. Raising a child single-handed was not something he had anticipated. He and his husband, of three years, decided together to start a family. They even went as far as not knowing which one was the biological father because what would that information provide? They would both love their child unconditionally.

Well, that was how it was supposed to work. Ellis, now a divorced single dad, works from home in order to provide the best care to his son that he can. This, of course, leaves no time for socializing or having a fun night of his own. Leave it to his friends to take matters into their own hands. A night has been arranged, babysitter lined up, and Ellis finds himself mingling and having a good time. When a new fella joins the party, Ellis is very intrigued.

Zane is a fun-loving very charismatic young man. He loves hanging out with his friends, he loves his job, and he would love to get to know the guy across from him called Ellis. He’s not there long before introductions are made and right away he is interested. They both are interested in each other and spend their time, equally, together. The more Ellis learns about Zane the more he is captivated by his strong appeal. In Ellis’s mind Zane has his act together plus he works with kids and that pretty much seals the deal for Ellis. The guys move along pretty quickly in forming their connection.

I would probably consider this insta-love if that is important to others. For me, I like characters that know what they want and aren’t afraid to go for it. I get bored quickly in a story when trouble brews through the biggest part of the story before the first kiss has ever happened. Luckily, that is not the case here. They are attracted to each other so why not act on it.

The guys have great chemistry and they move their relationship to the next level. They both realize they are moving fast but it feels right. Zane moves in with Ellis and things are running smoothly. That IS until the ex wants back into Ellis’s life. Unfortunately, Zane has a bit of trouble following him from his old life and it appears it may be following him now, in his new life. Ellis’s ex-husband is very vindictive when things don’t work his way so he causes trouble for the new lovebirds. Will they find their happy after anyway? Or does the ex stir the pot too much and create trouble they can’t escape from? It is worth your time to read Summer Son and find out. This is a fast paced novel that will keep you glued to the pages.

Anna Martin has successfully produced another winner for me. It’s not as hard-core as others I have read and dearly loved from her but it wasn’t warranted here in this story. This is a feel good story with chemistry that ignites from the pages and the dialog is quick and intriguing. This author certainly knows how to pull the reader in and keep you invested from start to finish. Anna Martin is one that I will always read without putting too much thought behind what the story is. I know if her name is attached then it is going to be a great read.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves mm and romance and what we all want, a happy ever after.

His friends want to help him enjoy life again, but Kade isn’t convinced a list of outlandish leisure pursuits will help much with that. To keep the peace he goes along with the plan and in the process, he meets Blake. Blake’s Australian accent and surfer-boy looks are the stuff of sexual fantasies and Kade surprises everyone – including himself – when he wastes no time making a move.

Kade goes with Blake into the Scottish highlands, but just as he is beginning to get used to life with his very own Mr. Australia, reality comes knocking. Kade’s newfound happiness falls apart when his abusive ex demands they meet. Blake senses something is wrong and he wants to help, but Kade knows he can’t confide in Blake.

He knows Blake won’t hang around, let alone help, when he finds out the truth.

Or will he?

Review: Douglas Black was a brand new author for me. Picking up The Bucket List was a good move on my part. Not being familiar with the author, or his writing style, I was only too eager to get started. It wasn’t long into the story that I knew I had a winner. I thoroughly enjoyed the story from start to finish. It was refreshing with lots of humour and a plot that pulled you in for the duration.

Kade has just recently become single again after being with the same partner for 8 years. To say he was shocked when it ended, abruptly, would be putting it mildly. He hadn’t realized how much his life was every day routine with no variation. His friends take matters into their own hands and write Kade a bucket list. They are trying to get him exposed to new surroundings. Lighten up his mood and maybe have a good time while doing it. The bad thing for Kade, his friends pick things he wouldn’t do in a million years. Being alone, nothing better to do, he decides to visit an Asian supermarket. It’s on the list, sort of, close enough for him. What could it hurt to go in and check it out?

The supermarket is nothing like Kade assumed it would be. As he strolls through the aisles making his selections, he notices a tall, blond, gorgeous man. Maybe it was not such a bad idea going there after all. He gets bold, for him, and winks at the guy as he goes around to the next aisle. That wink is all Blake needs to pursue his conquest.

And pursue he does. Dinner arrangements are made, a spark and connection is formed and the guys can’t seem to get enough of each other. Kade doesn’t have the guts to admit to Blake how boring his life really is. So when Blake suggests doing some of the things on his list, Kade lies about his previous adventures. Their chemistry will have you smiling from ear to ear. Blake is an easygoing guy who really likes Kade. He wants to do things for him, cook for him, and he finds himself falling fast. Of course, just when things seem to be going smoothly, the ex drops the bomb that he has been having second thoughts.

Completely taken back by Kade’s reaction pushes the ex into showing his true colors. It doesn’t take much for Blake to see what a jerk this guy is. He may need to have a little one on one. Kade is not too keen on that idea, but Blake gets it done, regardless. It’s time that Kade comes clean with Blake. Will Blake drop him at the nearest intersection or stick with him for the long-term?

Douglas Black is an incredible author that I am so happy I came across. This story has an interesting plot that keeps you invested. It’s not an overly long story. However, there is a lot of detail and information inside. The author does an amazing job of getting the story off the ground and keeping you there. I really enjoyed the banter between the guys, the friends, and laughed aloud on more than one occasion. The sex is hot, passionate, and emotion is definitely felt.

The character growth was evident and there was always an undercurrent of feelings playing out on the pages. This is a feel good story with two hot, sexy, and intriguing characters. I will definitely be looking at the other titles in this author’s backlist and would not hesitate to read his next book.

Review: Last Chance Tattoo by Karenna Colcroft is an uplifting, encouraging, story that follows along with real life situations. This is a new author for me but that did not hinder my decision to give this book a try. I’m so glad I did because it is a beautiful story centered on a beautiful soul. This is a story that does not rush to feel the pages with sex scenes. They do have sex and it is quite good when they do, however, it happened when the story called for it.

This, also, is a story about commitment and trust. One character may be committing to a partner no longer living but he feels compelled to keep their trust. Another may be committing to a grandmother who, when everyone else fails him, she stands tall by his side.

Rad left home five years ago when his family turned against him after discovering his sexuality. His grandmother was the only family member to provide unconditional love to Rad, but thank goodness, she did. He’s very disappointed in himself because even with his grandmother’s help, he wasn’t able to make it in the big city on his own. So, he does the only thing he can, he comes home. Even though grandma supports him and loves him dearly, she too, is not too keen in causing an uprising between family members. However, with her help and dedication to Rad, a family meeting is about to come together. They will accept him, love him, respect him, or grandma will be laying down some new rules.

Trying to stay out from under the feet of dear grandmother, Rad spends a lot of time exploring, walking, and taking in the scene that he hasn’t been a part of for the last few years. He stumbles on a new tattoo shop so while hiding from his brother across the road, Rad goes in.

Dorsey lost his true love 3 years ago and has not had a partner since. He came to this new town for a change of scenery and a new life. When a young man comes stumbling into his shop one day he’s not sure what to think. He finds him attractive immediately but wages war within himself that he may be cheating even though his partner is deceased. Rad and Dorsey hit it off quickly and form a friendship. They neither one have any friends so they could really benefit from their new bond.

Rad is a virgin in almost every way. He is shy and clumsy when trying to put on the moves and worries that Dorsey may not feel the same. Both the guys have a solid connection and it’s not long until their chemistry is firing on all cylinders. They share a kiss in the shop but oh, how Rad wants to take it further. Meanwhile, he doesn’t have a clue that Dorsey, also, would like to take it further if he could quit obsessing over a man who is no longer living.

While Rad is working on forming a stronger connection with Dorsey, grandmother is home rallying the troops for a family meet and greet dinner. Rad is very worried because he knows what they are like. His parents and siblings haven’t spoken to him since he left years back, he is not real hopeful that their feelings have changed. He even considers leaving again because he doesn’t want to put his grandma in this position. But leaving again would also mean leaving Dorsey. Does he really want to do that, now, that he just found him? If that is what happens, will Dorsey fight for him to stay? Or, will he let the best thing that has happened to him in over 3 years drive away without a fight?

Karenna Colcroft has written an enjoyable, engaging story about a problem, that too many face right now in their everyday lives. Every day, it seems, there is a news report about a young gay teen being evicted from their own homes. Their family members kicking them out on the streets with only the clothes on their backs. It is heart breaking and an emotional roller coaster to see this happen time and time again.

Ms. Colcroft has not cut any corners in telling Rad’s story. He has faced abuse and resentment from every person he grew up with. No concern for his well-being or the emotional toll and turmoil he was up against. All except for his grandmother, love her heart. The author, quite beautifully, tells Rad and Dorsey’s story and allows it to unfold at its own pace. When the guys want to take their attraction to the next level, they do so, but only when they are ready.

No one including we, the readers, are being rushed into scenes that only move the story forward. The character growth is inspiring to witness as both fellas find more than they ever thought possible, within the arms of each other. While there are some areas hard to read, there are many others that will keep a smile on your face.

This is a true feel good story that I would recommend to anyone to read.

Blurb: For Chad Ollom, landing on the Willow Springs Ranch after his teaching career crashed and burned last year was a lesson in irony, considering he’d sworn off all things related to horses and cowboys after a near fatal fall as a child. Now with a new mission in life, Chad plans to bring critically ill children to the ranch for a special celebration.

Aging rodeo cowboy Jesse Duran lives life eight seconds at a time and whether its broncos or men, it’s always been get on and get off before anyone gets hurt. When he’s required to take a break from the circuit and ends up on the WSR, the enticing ass of a standoffish teacher turned contractor might just be enough challenge to keep him entertained for a week or two.

As attraction flares, personal boundaries start to crumble, and the lines between seducer and seduced begin to blur. When the series of on-going attacks against the WSR moves from sabotage to arson, Jesse steps up to help, but when Chad is forced to return to his past to face charges, the men of the WSR want to know if Jesse will stick or leave Chad hanging.

Review: This is Book 4 of the Willow Springs Creek series. They do stand alone pretty well. Though you will understand the other characters better if you have rad their stories.

Chad is working at willow springs ranch helping with construction of the new bunkers for the new children events and camps they will be hosting. Chad was a schoolteacher but when it was discovered he was gay he was accused of molesting a child. He left on his own and the case had come back that with no proof, he was guilty but he went to the ranch to clear his head and decide what to do next. He has a secret that keeps him from interacting with the ranch operation and he stays as far from the cowboys as possible.

Jesse Durant is a rough stock rider in the rodeo circuit. He is 37 and getting a bit too old to compete. He has done it all his life and the travelling from place to place and excitement of the rodeo is in his blood. A friend of his (Roy) asks him to go the Willow Springs as a favour to him and help Cass for a few weeks while his latest, very bad injury heals. He meets Chad in a Bar in a nearby town but Chad avoids his advances even though part of him is interested, he has his own no cowboy rule. Is it fate that the two are both working on the same ranch?

As much as I love this series, this one wasn’t my favourite. I was really looking forward to Chad’s story, but for some reason this one fell a little flat for me. Don’t get me wrong the story is very good, both men are so hot and sexy, the ongoing story gets tenser and tenser, but for me there were issues I can’t explain without a spoiler. I still really liked the book a lot and encourage you to read this book and this series. I am looking forward to more to the new character introduced Park.

If you like, older men/younger men, rodeo stars, teachers, ongoing series, great romance, cowboys, horses, some suspense and some pretty steamy man-sex this is for you. Oh and if you like, Twinkies….oh man, how hot is that?

Emrys Marlowe had only ever fallen in love once, and that was with Kiyoshi Gwynne. He’d been young and Kiyoshi had been a man in which he could care for… and he’d loved caring for him. Now, six years later, he finds himself nervous as for the first time, he’s meeting his best friend Lindsay’s brother Ísarr. Ísarr Trevelyan, bookshop owner and unpublished screenwriter, has been quite content in living with his sister above the shop while she attended college. When she befriended two actors one afternoon, he’d thought nothing of it, and since their busy schedules kept them away from L.A. for the most part, it wasn’t until today, six years after her meeting Emrys, that he finally got to meet the man. Neither man expected to feel anything for the other, but the light and the completion they feel lends wings that can surely weather any storm… can’t it?

Blurb: Young painter Alex Tatton has always loved music. When a tragic accident takes away his parents, he turns to a darker style of music and discovers the rock band, Death Rose. Feeling isolated from his own life, Alex develops a crush on guitarist Danny Death who, despite the name, is vivacious, full of life, and has a reputation for being ‘the nicest guy in rock n’ roll’.

After a gig, Alex finds Danny to give him a signed painting. Danny is everything a star should be: charming, sexy, a beacon of light in Alex’s otherwise dark life, and after meeting him Alex is determined to see him again—and this time he wants more than just an autograph.

Review: Alex Tatton is loner. Young and awkward, he has kept to himself since his parent’s death, living in London with his aunt and uncle. The only joy in his life is his painting. Sometimes his aunt has to remind him to eat, his constant caregiver. His appearance however, is far from an artwork. He keeps his hair long, something to hide behind, which cause slight acne. When he starts school, all he wants to do is hide behind his hair and fly under the radar. When he makes new friends they introduce him to the band Death Rose, and from the start, Alex is entranced with their music and the artwork they used for their CD cover.

Venturing out to see and listen to the band in person, Alex is quite taken with their guitarist, Danny Death. Over time, Alex attends several shows and makes friends with a few people that are close knit with the band members, and his crush on Danny continues to grow. After some of the shows, Alex has special gifts for Danny. A comic book rendition with Danny as the star, a unique piece of artwork, he even goes so far as to paint his leather jacket with a semblance from the band. Over time, Alex begins to make some changes to his appearance as well. Buying nicer clothes that make him stand out more, cutting his hair and cleaning up his acne. And it doesn’t go unnoticed by Danny.

The two begin meeting at shows, go out on a couple dates, and share a few stolen moments and kisses. When Death Rose tours Germany, Danny flies Alex out to attend the show. From that night on, the relationship is solidified. Alex makes love and falls in love for the first time. There are a few bumps in the road though. It’s not a rock steady courtship from the start. Alex tends to over analyze things and it takes Danny some time to prove his intentions are true. When the time comes to tour America and they will be forced to spend months apart, will their newfound love be strong enough to withstand the separation?

The book was a little slow to start, setting things up and giving Alex’s back-story, not really picking up the pace until they were in Germany. But it was a steady slow, if that makes sense. We had to learn about Alex’s art and why he loves it, how it moves him and makes him the person he is. He’s not really that comfortable with the crowds or with recognition, but then there is Danny. Danny is a force of nature, blowing into Alex’s life and kind of turning it upside down. Enamoured or Attracted are two strong words to describe how Alex feels about Danny, but they really aren’t strong enough, it goes way beyond that.

It was nice to see that these two young characters were written that way as well. They were awkward, insecure and inexperienced. They feed off each other in a way, emotionally and physically. Danny is hyperactive, a wild child, while Alex is more subdued and laid back. Together they balance each other out somewhat. They faced their share of problems and issues while they learned more about each other and how to be a couple.

If you like, Rock & Roll stories with an edge and just the right dose of angst and some pretty passionate trysts, then you’ll love Phoenix. I’m excited for the next book. I hope I don’t have to wait too long!

Review: Charles Montgomery finally gives his mate, Sam, a tiger shifter, an ultimatum after a year of being kept a secret. Either claim Charles and finally let everyone know or don’t bother coming back. Sam finally claims him after loosing control of tiger that he’s kept under control for a long time.

Interesting story about a tiger shifter who was beaten and kicked out of his home for being gay, ends up with Gideon’s pack, and finds his mate in a vampire. Hot and intense sex scenes.

Good read.

Reviewer: GiGi

Review: I was skeptical about reading a book that flowed around the issue of eating disorder/weight management, but this book really surprised me and hit a much deeper note. The issues John tangles with are mistrust and hiding from himself, which his ex manages to find a perfectly good solution for…Sky Cook.

Sky is happy to avoid hard truths, and his own past. The issues of his eating are much deeper than we expect and the author does an excellent job at examining the psychological and physical reasons behind over eating or binge eating in Sky’s case.

The BDSM elements seem to be a perfect fit in this situation, because Sky needs discipline and safe controls, and John needs to be able to control something if not his own love life.
So many interesting twists and turns in this plot. There’s the mystery of John’s mother, and Sky’s past, the D/s scenes, and the obvious attraction the two have for each other.

I don’t want to give away big reveals because this book grabbed my attention and held it through as each secret was unveiled. Well written, this book moves along at a steady clip with a unique plot and very intense scenes. The Skinny On Love really evoked may reactions in me; I bit my nails, I wanted to grab a snack, I wanted to cry, I wanted to go run a few miles, I wanted to throttle both MCs at different points, and I certainly enjoyed the steamy scenes.

Very hot, very surprising, this book really impressed me!
