Blurb: Crowe has been raised in captivity all his life. The day arrives when he is free, and he and the small group of enslaved shifters who stayed by his side venture out to find somewhere they can live in peace.

Although Crowe is quiet and turns into himself to ward off the pain he has suffered, he still manages to lead the others. They wind up in Huntingdon Downs and stop a war between two factions of bear shifters bent on vengeance. Crowe has a connection to Noll and to Harrison, and both alphas want answers before they decide to kill him.

One gentle shifter, Talal, finds himself attracted to Crowe. Talal feels Crowe’s pain and doesn’t believe he is the simple-minded man everyone assumes. He wants to protect Crowe, but Talal isn’t anywhere near an alpha’s status. His power is nothing compared to the others, but he will risk his life to save the man who has only known cruelty.

If Crowe will allow him, Talal will teach Crowe about love and about having a male partner–two things Crowe has never heard of.

Review: This is the third book in this series and even though they focus on a new romantic couple, the story starts with book one.

This story is about a broken hero with a painful past and emotional problems. I was not much into book one and could not stand book two, however this book made up for those ones. Now it is not perfect and has some problems that are a bit confusing. It has more of a romantic tune to it than the others. It doesn’t come off as dark either.

Harrison is an Alpha and was once mated to Greg. Greg is Crowe’s father and Crowe’s mother was also Noll’s. Greg was an evil ass who was killed by Noll. The war between Harrison and Noll was well known but things are slowing down to a short peace. Crowe’s father treated him different from the others but worse also.

He was forced to mate, and forced to live in a cave. His learning had stopped at the age of six and he was not used to being out of the cave. Then the others talked him into leaving. He is terrified of the others and shows it, even though he is a strong alpha. He had never learned that part of himself. Never having shifted into his bear, he didn’t know what to do. Then he ends up in the middle of Noll’s and Harrison’s war. There is one bear who is nice to him, but still frightens him.

Talal is a gentle man and shifter. He wants to help Crowe and is attracted to him also. He knows he must take it slow with the skittish man, but damn is he turned the hell on. He wants to teach him about the world he is in now, but he also wants to teach him about love.

This was a better story than I thought it would be. It still feels like you are left hanging at the end but it was a better ending then I thought. I was happier with this story. You still have the danger but it has more tenderness in it. I wouldn’t go so far as to say I was having a blast with it, but liked it a little better.

I would recommend reading it.

Blurb: Does everyone have a certain “type” they end up with… whether they want to or not? If Ray Carlucci’s ex is anything to go by, Ray likes his men gorgeous, rebellious, and chock-full of issues. But now that Ray is single again, he has a shot at a fresh start—a very fresh start, since his tattoo shop was gutted by repo men and he can fit all his belongings in the trunk of a taxi.

Ray’s shiny new chauffeur’s license lands him a job as a driver for an elderly couple on Red Wing Island. It’s a cold fall, and since the Michigan island is the summer home to snowbirds who fly south for the winter, it’s practically deserted—save for Ray’s new household and a sculptor named Anton Kopec, who works day and night twisting brambles and twine into the distorted shapes of macabre creatures. Compelling, bizarre, and somewhat disturbing…not just the sculptures, but the artist, too. Ray has a feeling Anton is just his “type”.

Despite their scorching chemistry, when a dead body is unearthed by some workers and a freak ice storm traps them all on the island, Ray can’t say for certain that his new flame isn’t capable of murder.

Review: A weird, fascinating mystery that tries desperately to point you in the direction of the suspect, from the title of the story to the descriptions of Anton’s artwork. I, however, always route for the artiste. It takes one to know one sometimes, and I know artist find beauty in the oddities of life, sometimes the gruesome aspects of life, and let’s face the numbers…77% of artists/musicians/writers suffer from bipolar or manic depression.

So just because Anton has a voracious sexual appetite, when he has company, runs out into the woods in the night to perform odd rituals, likes to play with dead things and decorate graves, and is sometimes off his rocker, doesn’t mean he’s the bad guy…..right?

I like this question, because given Ray’s past, and his taste in men, he has to seriously reflect on it. Is he drawn to the rotten apples? Or is Anton being painted with a broad and blackened brush?

From the beginning my list of possible baddies is as long as my arm. I wanted to believe anyone was suspect, except for Anton….I still held out hope for him. Was my hope in vain? You’ll have to read and thoroughly enjoy, as I did, this delectable tale of oddball artists, new beginnings, and running from the past.

And yes, there is some fast and furious, hot and heavy lovin’ but it only added to the pace and mood of the story.

Blurb: The truth is out there. Way, way, way out there!

Drew Lawson is racing against the clock. He’s got a twenty-four-hour window to authenticate the mummy of Princess Merneith. If he’s not at his boyfriend’s garden party when that window closes, it’ll be the final nail in their relationship coffin.
The last thing he needs traipsing on the final shred of his patience is brash, handsome reality show host Fraser Fortune, who’s scheduled to film a documentary about the mummy’s Halloween curse.

The opportunity to film a bona-fide professor examining the mummy is exactly the aura of authenticity Fraser needs. Except the grumpy PhD is a pompous ass on leave from his ivory tower. Yet something about Drew has Fraser using a word he doesn’t normally have to draw upon: please.

With no time to waste-and a spark of attraction he can’t deny – Drew reluctantly agrees to let Fraser follow his every move as he unwraps the mummy’s secrets. Soon they’re both making moves behind the scenes that even the dead can’t ignore…

Warning: Whoso shall ever open this tomb, er, book shall suffer the curse of the Pharaohs. Okay, maybe not. But set aside a chunk of time for marauding mummies, too many cosmopolitans, illicit sex in hotel rooms, and other non-academic shenanigans.

Review: Drew Lawson is a professor hoping to make tenure by publishing a paper on his authentication of the mummy Princess Merneith’s tomb. He’s travelled all the way Wyoming and pissed his long-term boyfriend off in the process to examine this mummy’s tomb. Unfortunately the doctor in charge of the museum has double booked the princess and left town over the Halloween weekend. Drew is forced to work with an extravagant reality show host, Fraser Fortune, who takes charge of the museum to film an upcoming episode.

The authentication of the mummy is just the tip of the iceberg for Drew and Fraser who wind up spending their down time in the quiet Wyoming town together chasing mummies, bar hopping and trying to figure out exactly who is in charge of the museum.

There was a sort of Boris Karloff feel to this story. If you are a fun of the movie, then you’ll figure little things about this short story out pretty early on. But it was a lot of hysterical, creepy fun hearing Drew and Fraser skirting around town in beat up converse, chasing the peeping tom mummy, getting wasted in a hick bar, then making out to the wee hours of the morning.

I do have to disagree with the part of the description that states ‘illicit sex in hotel rooms’… the sex in the story was simply hinted at, no descriptives and if you blink, you’ll miss it.

Narrated by Sean Crisden, need I say more? Sean C is one of the best narrators out there right now. I loved the voice he gave Fraser Fortune. At first you might think Fraser is an aging, pompous ass by the tone Sean C uses for him, but he’s not. He’s really an attractive guy that hosts a reality show and wears converse. I could almost picture the look on Fraser’s face a couple times when he was placating a slightly tippy Drew.

Overall I quite liked this story, well worth a listen if you are a fan of fun mysteries.

Blurb: A murder in a small Colorado town closely resembles unsolved crimes committed by a serial killer almost thirty years ago. Private investigator Teague Donovan learns of the recent murder and is instantly drawn to the case, because one of the victims in the past was his best friend, and he is determined to bring the killer to justice.

Hoyt Newman, the detective in charge of the most recent case, is none too happy with Teague’s interfering. At least not until a second homeless boy is tortured and killed. As the two men work together, they begin to develop an interest in each other — one that seems fated not to come to fruition since Teague is city, through and through, and Hoyt is definitely country to the core.

Review: Once more Edward has written a book that is off the charts and perfect. If there was a way for me to give it more than five stars I would do it. You get sexy men, men with guns, deranged killers, hot sex, action, dangerous situations and pure heat. Although I wasn’t so sure that I was not going to kill Teague myself. Sometimes the older you get the weirder you get.

Teague had been best friends with Chris and had the start of a relationship that is until Chris’s aunt found out. The bitch kicked Chris out and he ended up staying with Teague till graduation. Then he decided to leave. No one had heard from him, until two years ago when his body was finally identified. He had been murdered. Teague wanted to get the killer but until recently there had not been one that matched it. A few murders and then twenty years with zip, now the murders are starting again. He knew he had to get the detective in charge to recognize that it is a copycat serial killer. What he had not expected was the attraction to Hoyt.

Hoyt was a top country cop with an attitude. He didn’t much care to have someone stepping on his toes but damn Teague was out of this world sexy. He seemed to know what he wanted how to get it. Teague was a top-notch private investigator that owned his own company in the city. Now all they had to do is to catch the killer of young gay homeless men. Then the heat gets hotter for them both and they have to figure out how to make a relationship work with thirteen hours between them either way.

Now this is one story that I hope has a sequel or a book two because damn it was good. I also got a kick out of the kid that works for Teague. Keir is one young man who was a bratty matchmaker as well as an undercover agent. I loved him even though he was in and out of the story. You can tell within the first paragraph how well the story is going to go and if the author put their heart into it, and this would be one of those stories.

I had a blast with this story and would recommend it. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. I think of all the romances and mysteries this one is my favorite. I do love a good book but when you have a story that has so meat to it is sold. Then you add in two men who carry guns and I am there. It was amazing and I cannot wait to read the next story Edward puts out.

Review: This is the fifth book in the Children of Night series and it is mostly about Georgia. I didn’t care for her in the book at all. Though I did understand some things better now than when she was first introduced as her more of story began to come out. I still don’t care for her though.

There is more in this book about both Julie and Conrad as the story progresses. Each character has their own situations they are dealing with throughout the books. Each is explained to a degree as well. I really wish I had known there were females in this series before I started it as I’m an m/m reader and don’t like m/f scenes or hints of them in the books I read.

I had to continuously start and stop as I read this book as I lost all focus on the story through the female parts in it. I am sure it’s a good book but just wasn’t for me at all.

It was O.K.

(Alien Slave Masters 01)
by

Samantha Cayto

When a distant planet’s ownership is in dispute, conquering aliens turn defiant human males into pampered sex slaves.

In a not-too-distant future, a lopsided war has led to aliens invading and occupying an Earth settlement. Wid is a young colonist who has been caught harassing the aliens. He and his friends are rounded up and sent to an alien warship patrolling the disputed space. His fate is to serve as a sex slave for the ship’s imposing captain. Wid, at first, fights against his enslavement, but soon learns that not only does he stand no chance against the much larger and stronger captain, he isn’t sure he even wants to.

Like all Travian males, Kell is bound by duty to defend his people. Having risen to the rank of captain, he nevertheless chafes against the boring and endless patrol of the space invaded by the humans. His misses his family and constantly guards against his scheming first officer. He sees his reward of a human sex slave as more of a nuisance. Yet the pretty, fair-haired human’s exotic allure is hard to resist. He finds far more pleasure in the use of his pet than he would like.

Kept naked and leashed, Wid’s days are filled with boredom, while his nights wrapped in Kell’s arms turn from fear into pleasure. Even as the humans plot their escape, Wid and Kell form a bond and their growing affection cannot be ignored. When tensions boil over among the aliens, Wid and his friends may be Kell and his crew’s only chance for survival.

Reader Advisory: This book contains sex scenes of both non-consensual and dubious consent, as well as scenes of violence, abuse and torture.

Review: Each book in the Wolves of Stone Ridge collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. (But, it’s not necessary…PdM)

There is nothing better than a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way Charlie can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by one of my favorite authors.

Borscht is the leader of his coven and he is depressed. He has seen two of his younger siblings find their true loves and he wants his. He is kind of strange for a vampire. Although for a vampire it is probably normal. He loves quiet donors, his life in order and the rules followed. The only part of his family that I think needs to be beaten is his homophobic brother Aleksei. So when they see intruders on their lands, they end up finding a little bat shifter. Borscht has found his mate.

Sekani is the cutest little bat shifter you have ever seen. He is so innocent and sweet. He has spent so much time stuck in a cage that he doesn’t even know how old he is. He had been experimented on and he was scared. He doesn’t understand the language that Borscht and the others speak but he is not really sure what language he speaks either. All he knows is that this sexy man smells delicious. The scientists are out there looking for him, so it is up to Borscht to stop them from getting his love.

Now out of all of Charlie’s books I think this is my top favorite. Sekani comes off perfect and he is absolutely my favorite out of all of her wonderful characters. I love the right amount of feelings that come through when you are reading it.

There is something about the way that Charlie tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off at parts of it. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives. I had a blast reading this story.

This story is perfect for when you are trying to take a break or when you just need the sun to shine for you. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.

I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was the perfect story for me and I loved it.

I can’t wait to read the next story. When Charlie puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

hanging with questions. They just give you this taste and doesn’t fulfill you at all.

Now I must admit that this does the same but it actually comes off pretty damn good. I wasn’t so sure what to think at first. The title had me guessing at first. This is the first book by this author that I have read and it was pretty good. Although to be truthful I hated it. To meet up and then to know you will not have a lot of time with someone kind of does it for me.

Kithric has been capturing dragons for as long as he remembered. He didn’t kill them but took samples for magic. He was a mage that was growing old and losing his abilities. So when he captured a dragon that shifted into a human he figured death was coming. What he had not expected was for Ylfrin to tease him.

This was a pretty good story and I would recommend reading it. It gives you a taste of the paranormal worlds, dragons, danger, excitement and just a hint of sex.

For being such a short story I was impressed with it.

Review: This is the third book in the Children of Night series. While recovering from his ordeal Conrad and Damian attempt to reconcile their differences. Still tension remains between these two strong men. I still don’t understand why these two have drawn things out in these books. They should just talk and get everything out in the open and be done with it.

Marc moves out and decides to help the help the rogues while searching for the one who hurt him horribly. I really liked Marc’s determination throughout this book. As with the previous books there are flashbacks throughout, so be warned.

We see Julie having second thoughts about her human boyfriend as well as being introduced to characters that seemed to have vanished only to return in this book. There was a lot going on in this book as it continues in the same fashion as the previous ones.

There is suspense, a long lost love that is finally found and whole lot of family drama regarding the vampires.

All in all it was an O.K. read.

Review: This is the first book I’ve read by Isabelle Rowan and I have to say I was completely sold. The plot was uncomplicated but dense in detail and the writing style made it so easy to read, understand and enjoy the characters.

As an Australian, I love reading books that take advantage of all Aussie’s little eccentricities in a book. Even Australian authors are guilty of almost Americanizing our own culture and removing our slang in stories. I know, it’s often to make it simpler to read, but sometimes in the back of my head it’s almost like I start thinking “that’s not a knife” (Crocodile Dundee reference).

Enough about that, though. There’s football (AFL), bushfire, snow, horses, farming… it’s about as Aussie as you can get.

The story is about Caleb and Paul, who Caleb affectionately dubs “Snowman”. The setting is the quintessential Australian bush – somewhere in Victoria, not far from Melbourne. We follow the characters from their first meeting in winter, near a ski resort in a terrible storm (I know, snow isn’t the first thing you think about for Australia since half the country hardly ever gets the stuff).

The unlikely friendship that emerges between Paul and Caleb is totally adorable and is always constantly teetering on the brink of being a romantic relationship.

It isn’t all roses, though. Caleb has his past demons which is the driving force of this book. I absolutely loved this about the plot, though I think I have some concerns for Caleb’s psychological and mental state. Paul is a complete sweetheart and I wanted to hug him while he went through the pain as he put in all the work to maintain some sort of communication with Caleb.

Rather than seeing so many different obstacles we have a man emotionally crippled with grief and two men who seem to be brought together by injury and freak weather conditions.

I adored this book. The Aussie in me loved reading of something so close to home. However, much more than that, the characters may have had their fair share of flaws, but they were super relatable and… I just needed to know how their story ended!

Review: Devin, a human, meets Bastian, a Degan, while working at a space station. The sparks immediately between the two and after spending some hot, passionate time together Bastian disappears.

This book grabs your attention and keeps it from to finish. The details about Bastian’s race were intriguing as well as the visual details of his awesome home world.

There is a conspiracy in this book that Devin is dragged into. I did not like what the unsanctioned lab did to him after they kidnapped him. Horrifying tests and abuse until he was finally rescued. The main suspect actually surprised me. But the others involved with him did not.

Space chases, suspense, mystery, action and a powerful romance that remains even in the face of danger and uncertainty. Highly addictive and action packed, this book was a fantastic read.

Absolutely loved this book.

Highly recommended.

So he played it out…to the bitter end.

At one of Louis’ doctor’s appointments, Gunner met a man. A man who had the body of a Greek god, golden hair, and the bluest eyes Gunner had ever seen.

Lief Constantine was a personal trainer, and his life was fitness. He ran marathons, was an Ironman athlete, and trained the Hollywood elite when they needed to bulk up or trim down. Lief was gaining popularity in the fitness business in LA because he did not use steroids, and got fast results with his grueling regiment of working out and a strict diet.

Lief knew after the next event, the triathlon, if he placed in the top ten, endorsements would follow, and Lief could begin selling his own line of workout clothing and healthy food supplements.
That was, until the doctor found a lump on Lief’s testicle during a routine physical exam.

When Gunner met Lief he never imagined falling for a guy who may end up just as sick as Louis had been. But Gunner wasn’t the type of individual to cut and run, so when Lief gets some depressing news about his health, Gunner is at a loss.

And if Gunner thinks he’s lost, Lief is in permanent denial.
Each man acting out the part of feeling normal in what may be a tragic play.

Review: This was an emotional book to read. Reading how Gunner stuck with his partner Louis, as he battled testicular cancer, was awe-inspiring yet heartbreaking at the same time. Gunner seemed like a man who was determined to stick by his partner’s side no matter what. I admired that about him.

When he meets Leif, a personal trainer and finds out he may be facing the same thing Louis did my heart literally cried for him. I can’t imagine how watching someone you love fades away, let alone possibly going through it twice. This book has a roller coaster of emotions as each man deals with the situation in their own ways.

I was cheering for Leif to make it through his ordeal alright. The intensity throughout takes your breath away. Wonderfully written story.

Great read.

Review: Once again Xavier has given me a story that topped the charts. If there was a way to give it more than five hearts I definitely would. I absolutely love Ethan and Gabe. Two hot and sexy cops that carry guns. What is not to love? This story is about their bachelor party. Hot strippers, alcohol and crazy times to be seen.

As with all of the books in this series, you will hear about another couple finding love. That is what I love about Xavier’s books. You don’t just get one couples story but two.

Ethan and Gabe were coming to terms with the fact that Liam was planning a bachelor party for them. It was a bit frustrating seeing as they were not sure how to do it since they were both straight to begin with and most of the guest are also straight. Ethan is afraid that it will look strange if they had female strippers and male strippers concerning his friends. Of course they had not a dang thing to worry about because our favorite guys are going to take really good care of them.

Now with Oliver he is straight but wants to take a bartending job in a gay club. He has also been going to school to be a doctor. All he had to do is to flirt and be sweet to the customers. That is all good until James starts coming in. Now he is trying to come to terms with the fact that he is attracted to another man. Things are looking up I would say.

James is married and a politician. His wife is a sour bitch who just wants to catch her husband in a relationship with a man. There is definitely no love between these two. So James has been going to the club, starts talking to the bar tender and knows he cannot go through with what his wife has planned. All he wants is out and his feelings for Oliver are starting to show. So now he has to keep the man he has fallen in love with safe.

Ethan and Gabe are called in to find a missing bartender, which for cops is a normal thing to do. However what they find is two men who have come to terms that they love each other. Sort of like them. All hot and sexy with love all mixed in.

What I have figured out with Xavier’s stories is while you are seeing Ethan and Gabe go forward with their lives. The other couple is a bit of the same kind of people. One is straight and the other is gay. There is a bit of friction with them, but they stand up to others for what they are finding is right. Even though it is perfect, there is always the knowledge that couples all have it in common.

I had a blast reading this and look forward to the wedding. These guys that are being written about are all hot, sexy and perfect for each other. I loved this book almost as much as the other ones. It is with a serious tone to it but there is quite a bit of humor mixed in.

I would definitely recommend reading this story. If gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading it and kept it all the way to the end.

I can’t wait for the next book to come out.

Formerly a scientist in the Union Navy, Aron was dishonorably discharged following a court-martial for failing to obey orders. Stepping foot on the Cassini brings up old feelings he would rather forget. Shunned by the crew of the Cassini, Aron finds comfort in the arms—and bed—of Marine corporal Kane Robertson.
Upon reaching the colony, it becomes apparent that not everything is as it seems.

Review: Dr. Aron Adler, the one who was consulted and alerted the Degan’s about Devin’s kidnapping in the first book, is tasked with a dangerous mission along with Marine corporal Kane Robertson, a bio engineered soldier. From the start these two are attracted to one another.

Even though Kane has been pre-programmed he has his own feelings. Nothing is as it seems when they arrive at the research facility. They run into dangerous situations throughout and some of the men with them end up injured.

This book is action packed and intense from the start. I could not stop reading it until the very end. Edge of your seat situations and detailed battles along with the blossoming romance between Kane and Aron made for a fantastic and intriguing read.

I love this author’s books. He writes awesome stories that stick with you long after you’re done reading them.

This series is one of my favorites as it gives the reader a little of everything, romance, adventure, action, intense situations and places that intrigue the reader.

Highly recommended.

Review: This is a completely charming and sweet book that I just want more of. It is the story Mic, who is mute, and a man who happens to help Mic one day, Henry, who works as a legal secretary.

This quick and charming story feels like just the start of a romance and to me this story is more like a scene or chapter of what could be a wonderfully heart warming romance.

Nonetheless, if you want to read something uplifting, this is it.
