Blurb: The world of genetic experimentation is highly regulated. Mikkel’s beautiful creations are as illegal as they are magnificent, and none so miraculous as Icarus, his perfect lover and companion. But love and good intent may not be enough to protect their little enclave. A new child may just tip the scales…and place Icarus and his Master at risk.
Review: Intriguing story about Mikkel and his creations. I found myself immediately immersed in this somewhat strange yet fascinating story.
The thing I found that made a big impact with me was the Icarus, one of Mikkel’s creations, wanted to protect Mikkel.
Icarus struggled with the unfamiliar feelings for Mikkel as the story continued.
As well as Mikkel pushing the boundaries the more he created no matter the cost.
Good read.

Title: Shrinking Illusions Series: Hounds of Hell, #12 Author: Flynn Eire Genre: Paranormal Length: Novella (129 Pages) Publisher: Supernatural Script Inc. (May 26th 2015) Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 ½ Hearts Blurb: Some decisions change more than history, and for one archangel, Chamuel, he lives with the heartache of that choice. Sent to Earth to find out information, he encounters a gorgeous man who distracts him from his task and ends up being his normal grouchy, egotistical self.
Anastasius Yale fought to stay at the estate where his brother was rescued to. Not related by blood, their bond is just as strong, especially after losing their parents. So when a narcissistic archangel shows up demanding answers and throwing salt in old wounds, he has no problem telling the guy off and hopes never to see him again.
Then again even a psychologist needs a guardian angel to heal a wounded heart.
Actions have consequences though, and when rules aren’t explained first, a night of passion ends with an unknowing pledge and tough choices ahead. Can Anastasius look past the archangel and simply see a man he might be able to give his heart to or will he let his old resentments banish Chamuel to a life without him?
Review: Each book in the Hounds of Hell collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.
I love the way Flynn can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by one of my favorite authors.
I came across Flynn’s books about a year ago and I was fascinated with the world she brought out and the characters. It didn’t take long before she became one of my top five favorite authors and I automatically buy her books.
The only problem I had with this series and this book is the dialog comes at you and part of the time you are just trying to keep up. Through most of this book I had trouble figuring out who was talking. It does get a bit confusing at times, but for me it doesn’t take away from the story itself just keeps me on my toes.
Anastasius is a doctor of the mind, and has worked hard at it. When his brother was taken by hellhounds to be protected, he fought to be able to stay with him. He has a lot of strength in him, but he comes off a bit strange to me. He has some issues and makes Chamuel hurt because of it.
Chamuel is an angel who decides where the evil souls are to go in the end. He hates his job but he loves his father. However he has not had many chances to be around humans that were not being judged. When he met Ana he wasn’t so sure what to think but sure did come off as an ass to the man. Then he found out that Ana was his mate, and he about blew a gasket. It would seem his mate thought the same. However when it came down to it, his mate had to make a tough decision that could end their mating.
There is something about the way that Flynn tells a story that will not only draw you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off at parts of it. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their loved ones with their entire lives
. I love the paranormal tone and the little bit of twists that come with it. I had never really thought about a story that not only has angels in it but hellhounds also. When one thinks hellhound, they think evil and death. Now granted they were originally from hell and they can kill who they think need to die, these guys are different.
Now even though there is a bit of angst with each character, which at times can drive a reader nuts, there is very little danger. I want danger to be put into my stories. These are love stories and shows their steps. However there is the reason they are together missing though. I want the danger coming for them so that the mates can be protected. Other than that I had a blast reading this story. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book.
I can honestly tell you that this is going to be one of those types of series. One that I will have to read over and over. I love the way all the feelings they felt was involved in this story. It was almost the perfect story for me and I loved it. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Flynn puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. Trust me it will keep you laughing, crying, loving and having fun.

Title: Summertime Stories Series: N/A Author: Kiernan Kelly Genre: Contemporary Length: Single author anthology (51 pages) Publisher: Torquere Press Publishers (July 15th 2014) Heat Level: Moderate
Heart Rating: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts Blurb: Here are two stories of summertime romance, Sparks Fly, and Hurricane Season, both of which take place in sunny Florida.
In Sparks Fly, when Riley and Rocket butt heads, the fireworks aren’t confined to the nighttime sky.
During Hurricane Season, Aiden and David meet as strangers searching for safety as the wind howls and the rain and waves pound the shore, but in addition to a warm, dry bed, find something neither one thought they were looking for.
Both stories were originally published individually by Torquere Press.
Reviewer: Leigh Review: Since these are two separate stories I have going to rate them as such.
Sparks Fly ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts:
This was a cute little tale. I am a sucker for friends to lovers’ stories. Considering it was only about 25 pages it did well giving a background story and tying in the current happenings. But it was not really long enough to give a good flushing out of the characters and their personalities.
Everything happened a bit too fast for me to truly get into the story. I was left with a general feeling of satisfaction. I think if it was longer it would have rated higher and given me more time to appreciate the characters and their relationship.
Hurricane Season ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts:
This was also a cute little story. It also seemed to be a little more flushed out, out least in the case of Aiden. David was more of a mystery as not much is explained about him,
Two men thrown together by a hurricane and finding something special, I can buy that. But as it was so short the ending left me needing to look past the impossibility of there being a happily ever after right away. These men did not know each other until a chance encounter on the beach right before the storm hit. So the whole idea felt a little off to me.
Overall both stories are well written and fast paced. But I feel if they were longer they would have been much more enjoyable reads.

Review: This is book four in the Quads of Alpha S series. As with the other books the beginning is a look into Adrian background and retelling of the crash that involves him. I found it somewhat funny that a heterosexual man is stranded on a planet where there are no women.
E’an, Kee’gn, Dray, and Ganon come to the village for help and instantly attracted to Adrianne. Though he fights how he feels eventually he gives in to the four aliens. I liked that as the story progressed Adrianne learned to quit placing labels on anyone and just go with what he feels is right.
Intriguing read that keeps your interest from start to finish. I hope there will be more in this series.
Loved it.

Blurb: There’s never been any question in Sean Tucker’s mind that he’d do whatever it took to make it to the major leagues and be one of the best pitchers of his time. The day he acknowledged to himself that he was gay was also the day he vowed to stay in the closet in order to chase his dreams. The problem is, he never counted on Mason Atley.
Sean showed rookie short stop Mason Atley the ropes, both on the field and off. The two forged a friendship which continued as both of them moved through the ranks of the farm system and into the majors. Unfortunately, there’s always been one secret Mason never felt he could share with Sean. Until now.
For seven years, Sean lived with the fact that he loved a man who would never reciprocate. When Mason admits that he’s always known he’s bisexual but has never allowed himself to pursue a relationship with a man, will Sean be able to put aside his reservations about starting a relationship with the friend he’d always assumed was straight?
And more importantly, will they be able to find a way to stay together when their careers keep them apart more than they can be together?
Review: I don’t know how I have managed to not read any books from this author, but now that I know how incredible her writing is, I’ll be rectifying that, immediately.
Wild Pitch, by Sloan Johnson, is an incredible story of friendship, love, overcoming fears, and perseverance.
I was moved several times over the course of reading this book. Ms. Johnson has taken current affairs about gay players in sports and showed that homophobia is still a major concern. However, the times are changing. And, they are changing for the better. I’m sure this is not true everywhere, we know it’s not true, but I do believe it is better than it used to be, and Wild Pitch shows us that there are good people out there. Accepting people who could care less about what you do in the privacy of your own home.
Sean has always known he was gay, but it was something that he had already made peace with keeping this information to himself. Being a pitcher for the major leagues is his life’s dream, and the one person that he wanted was also the one person he couldn’t have. Or, so he thought. His straight best friend…straight, married, best friend.
When we meet Mason, he has a marriage that has crumbled, his stats on the field are not the best, and he wants his best friend more than anything. Never admitting to anyone that he is, at least, bi holds him back from telling Sean the truth. He’s had plenty opportunities over the years to confess his own secret, but he held back thinking he wanted the wife, kids, and the white picket fence.
Even though Mason and Sean are on opposite teams they have always been friends first and foremost. Mason gets a call one night from Sean’s teammate to come and pick up his inebriated ass. When he gets him back to the house, one thing leads to another, and secrets spill. Sean can’t believe what he is hearing, but deciding to not pass up this opportunity, he gives in to Mason’s desires and wow, it was amazing.
I loved this story for many reasons. The author’s writing is something that I connected to right away. She allowed the characters to work through their problems, for the most part, together. Oh, there was a couple of times a tantrum ensued sending them off to separate corners, but they didn’t stay away too long.
Their relationship was not what I would consider insta-love, although, they did love each other very much. They started out as friends so their bond was very strong. Once they moved into a relationship status Sean was afraid to push too fast, too soon, in case Mason changed his mind.
With the help of Sean’s sister, and Mason’s parents, they gave unlimited support and advice only wanting the best for both of them. Regardless to the obstacles they faced, whether it is an ex-wife or injuries, they stood by each other with a formidable wall.
This is a really touching and moving story that will have you biting your nails one minute, and the next. You will be smiling from ear to ear. The story did not revolve only around the MC’s. Ms. Johnson has included several secondary characters that were vital in bringing this story to its full potential. Each one had a purpose adding so much value to this story. Sean’s sister, who lives with
Sean most of the time, is struggling through her own problems and Sean and Mason, both, were there for her in any capacity. It was really beautiful how both of them watched out for her and tried to protect her. There are a couple of guys on the team that were instrumental, as well, and I hope they eventually get their own story.
This story is not cliché or predictable. One of the reasons that I stayed glued to the pages was because I wasn’t sure how everything would turn out. To say that the author threw in a couple of surprises and bonuses would be an understatement. Without spoiling it for anyone, I will just say that the ending was soooooo good. I wasn’t sure whether to smile or cry and honestly, I think I did a little of both.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves friends to lovers, sex scenes that are super-hot and passionate, and happy ever after’s. You definitely get all of that and a lot more, and for me, I have just found another author with a catalogue I can’t wait to delve into.

Title: Kissed By Death, 2nd edition Series: Kissed By an Immortal, # 1 Author: Andi Anderson Genre: Paranormal Length: Novella (112 pages) Publisher: eXtasy Books Inc. The Angel of Death has come back to claim Gregory’s life. After a seven-year reprieve from the Grim Reaper, Gregory knows it’s time to move onto his eternal afterlife, and stop the suffering he has had to physically endure all these years. Even though Gregory knows it’s time to move onto the next phase of his existence, his secret desire to be with the handsome, mysterious being has almost consumed his every thought. Instinctively, he knows they belong together, forever.
But how does one have a relationship with Death’s Angel, and how can Gregory convince him they are meant to be?
Review: I didn’t know what to think about this story as I started to read it as this is the first time I’ve ever read a book where the Grim Reaper has a love interest. It was strange yet really good. Gregory makes two deals with Thanatos, the Grim Reaper. It’s the second during the second deal that they fall in love. I loved Gregory’s happy, positive personality even though he’s been in a lot of pain since he was granted 7 more years of life.
Thanatos wasn’t as scary as I thought he’d be and tried to fulfill every wish Gregory had in the two days they had together. It was a beautiful time with amazing details of the beach and of course hot, passionate sex between the two. At the end of the second day Gregory takes Nemesis words to heart and gets his final wish to be with Thanatos for eternity.
Really sweet and great read.

Review: Each book in the Granite County collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. I love the way Bellann can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in. I had a blast reading this and look forward to reading more by one of my favorite authors.
I came across Bellann’s books about a year ago and I was fascinated with the world she brought out and the characters. It didn’t take long before she became one of my top five favorite authors and I automatically buy her books. This story was no different and the bunny made it even better.
Kris had been kidnapped and tortured by an evil sadistic asshat. As he was in the hospital healing, Corey came home. Kris had been hurt when Corey had left him, never understanding why he needed to. Now he was back and Kris was terrified.
Corey had always needed something that Kris alone could not give him. He however knew that he loved Kris. So when he found out what had happened to Kris, he came running back. The problem was, Kris was pissed at him. Things were not going to get better that is for sure. Doing a delivery for Kris, ends up with Corey in danger and Storm saving his ass.
Storm had at one time been in the military, and then became a mercenary with his friends. He was damn good at it, but they all had known it was time to retire. Now he had come to Granite to watch a friend get married. He might have found a town which would be perfect for him. When he saved Corey from dying in a fire and meeting Kris he knew he was staying for good.
However he had not expected the stubborn little brats to fight all the time. It was time for a strong Dominate to put a hand to their ass that is for sure. To top it off someone seemed to want him and Corey to die. He had to keep his men safe and also to show them that they were loved.
I had a blast reading this story. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. It also gave me everything I could want in a book. I mean what is better than two gorgeous men. Well in this book you get three sexy ones with hot sex, tender loving and some feisty arguments.
I can’t wait to read the next story.

Title: Crash Landing Series: Quads of Alpha S, #1 Author: Kelex Genre: Sci-fi / BDSM / Aliens Length: Novella (85 pages) Publisher: Twisted Erotica Publishing (August 5th 2013) Heat Level: Erotic Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥ 4 Hearts Blurb: Captain Kaden “Crash” Saunders is charged with leading a dangerous rescue mission to Alpha S, a dangerous planet on the other side of an intergalactic wormhole. Once they arrive, the electromagnetic field surrounding the planet causes his ship to crash.
Alpha S has been off-limits to the Federated Navy and its ships for years—all because of an eerie evil nemesis, the Xinthpats, who are overly fond of human blood. The Xinthpats have killed every human to step foot on Alpha S, but Crash is determined his men won’t be among that number.
Crash’s best friend is snatched by the enemy and Crash will stop at nothing to find him. A trio of sexy, purple vampiric aliens steps up to help, if Kaden will submit to them and allow them to claim his body completely.
Crash is shocked by his reaction to their touches—and their bloodlust—which makes him lusty and yearn for more. But he has to see through his desire long enough to save his best friend and the rest of his crew.
Review: Book one in the Quads of Alpha S. In this series so far from what I can gather there will be a foursome with 3 aliens and a human. The aliens will be the masters and the human their slave.
Crash was a strong leader and he made an even stronger slave to the leader of the shadows and his two men. This book has intense scenes and some edge of seat action as well as Crash struggling with himself as he tries to fight between his feelings of leaving the aliens and staying.
I was heartbroken when Tripp and two other crew members of Crash were taken by the Xinthpats, who seem to only care about satiating their need for human blood no matter the cost. I was also sad for the Quinto and Shadows, as some were taken by these cruel creatures and turned into half breeds who were exiled from their homes once they were found out. I couldn’t understand why a family would do that to one of its own, especially if that person was taken against their will and made into something else.
It was intense yet hot between Drago, Arrapo and Ragon, Shadows, who all live in the shadowlands with Drago as the leader. The details of the aliens were stunning. Hot sex all throughout.
Loved it.

Blurb: Being in the closet is safe for an ex-military man like Josh – lonely, but safe, especially since he has five-year old Seth to bring up by himself. His life is orderly, and his decisions firm, and based solely on keeping it that way. When Josh meets Brett, an out-and-proud divorcee with a daughter the same age as Seth, Josh never expects his heart to begin making all the decisions.
From first meeting and through the years that follow, one thing becomes certain for the two men and their children – while their lives may be problematic from time to time, they’ll never be lonely again.
Previously published as individual short stories by Torquere Press.
Review: This book is the combination of four short stories that were originally part of a series called A Forever Family published in 2008 and 2009 from what I could find out. Although I am not going to review it that way. Because honestly they flowed very well as one book.
I liked the story of Josh and Brett. They are both parents of two adorable little children. They meet when dropping their children off for the first day of school. From there they develop a friendship over coffee and children play dates. Until finally they both admit how they feel for each other and take it to the next level.
There was a nice pace to their relationship. Nothing was rushed. They Fall in love with each other as they deal with the everyday stuff, as well as homophobia, and family troubles. Together they form a tight-knit family unit.
Good enjoyable read.

Blurb: Brett DeMarco is a First Lieutenant in Aelland’s Security Forces and hopes to become the head of intelligence someday. After the death of his fiancé, Brett threw himself into his work, dodging his father’s attempts to get him to marry the right woman, never doubting the career path he’d chosen.
Orion Hellman is the base commander’s personal assistant, has never spoken a word to anyone, and follows orders exactly, helping to ensure the base runs smoothly by any means the general deems necessary. Classified as a manual laborer with marriage out of the question, Orion has no intention of getting involved with anyone.
A chance meeting ignites Brett’s long dead desire, changes everything he knew and gives Orion everything he never thought he wanted.
Review: This is the fourteenth book in the reality series. I have to say since this is the first book I’ve read in this series I was a little lost. A government controlled world, a soldier, Brett, who is out to gather information thinking he’s doing the right thing and a freedom fighter leader, Orion, who is undercover playing a mute lackey for the commander.
After being set up Brett is rescued and taken to safety by Orion. These two slowly grow closer and things heat up between them.
Though I was confused at points I still enjoyed the feel of the story and the plot.

Blurb: Charlie has one passion in life: dancing. It’s his salvation when it feels like the world is swallowing him whole. When his mom secretly secures him a spot in the summer intensive at the Free Rein Dance Company in New York, he is thrilled. He knows that once the summer ends, he’ll have to return to Beacon to get a job and help support his family, but for those two months, he can spread his wings. In New York he meets Max, a junior instructor who is everything Charlie wishes he could be. Bold and self-assured, Max radiates pride in who he is. As they spend time together, Max shows Charlie what life can be like past the walls of his closed-minded home town. But Charlie doesn’t know if he’s ready to show the world who he truly is when standing in the spotlight is the last thing he wants.
Review: Another lovely book from Cate Ashwood; I’m a happy girl! This is a beautiful, low in angst young adult story, one I enjoyed reading this from the beginning to the end. I’m not a frequent reader of YA books, but Cate Ashwood is one of those authors who successfully writes this genre, so I know I’m in good hands with her.
This is the story of Charlie and Max, two dancers who touched my heart in different ways. Charlie escapes to New York the summer after his high school graduation for an intensive dance program at a renounced school. The bullying he endures at his small town high school makes his life a living hell, and Charlie found a very unhealthy outlet for all the emotional pain he feels.
Max is a junior dance instructor at the school Charlie goes to for the summer, and the chemistry between them is instant and obvious. When they start training together for a duo and have to spend hours together getting very close and personal, sparks start flying, and Charlie has to come to terms with his sexuality.
I loved their friends to lovers story, and while there are not very explicit sex scenes between them, what we get is extremely sensual and romantic. You know the type of teenage love that’s all-consuming, greater than everything, passionate, a love that knows no bounds? That’s what we get from them, and I loved it! There’s plenty of kissing and snuggling, and the boys like to experiment a lot sexually, so have no worries, this book isn’t steam-less. I guess we get a more innocent type of sex, which was fitting since the boys are on the young side.
There are two things that would have made this book perfect. 1. We needed Max’s POV. He is such a patient, amazing, supportive, sexy, attentive man! He’s a perfect boyfriend without leaving us feeling like his character was overdone. Unfortunately, we don’t get to know much more about him than that, because this story is told exclusively from Charlie’s POV.
2. Charlie’s reluctance to discuss his feelings and expectations with his mother…it didn’t need to be here; it just didn’t make any sense to me why he was so set on going back home after the summer was over. I understood and admired his determination to help his mother financially, but that could be done without him giving up on the happiness he found in New York alongside Max. Charlie’s mother was such an amazing woman; loving, caring, understanding and accepting; I love it when we get amazing characters like her.
Beautiful HEA, adorable, lovable MCs, amazing secondary characters, and beautiful sensual dancing. What more do you want? Recommended!

Blurb: Bonded by their parents before they were conceived, Abel Nasa and Zakai “Kai” Berura adored each other since they were children. As teens, the two future Alphas took the next step in their bonding process and vowed to remain true to one another until Kai came of age. But when tragedy struck, Abel felt betrayed and ran from Kai instead of completing the mating bond.
Years pass with no contact between the two, but Abel never stops yearning for the man who was supposed to lead by his side. When Kai returns, broken and on death’s door, Abel must look past what he saw and trust his heart so they can fulfill their destiny and merge their packs.
Review:This is the 2nd edition and there are no changes from the 1st. Abel and Kai were bonded from birth by their parents so they would combine their packs and lead together, they adored each other growing up and vowed to be true to one another until Kai was old enough to bond. But with the death of Kai’s father their time together was limited, then Kai’s mother died and all contact was cut off until the day Kai turned eighteen and Abel was left devastated by what he discovered. Ten years later Abel still yearns for the man who should have been his mate and a plea for help has Kai back in his life, but Kai is broken, a shell of the wolf he once was, and Abel must trust his heart if he is going to save the man he still loves.
Holy Hell, this is a fantastic hurt/comfort story that hits you hard and has you wanting to bang two shifters heads together for their stubbornness. Abel looked forward to bonding fully with Kai but what he discovered on Kai’s coming of age day drove him away, Kai was stuck with no way out and his sacrifice nearly destroyed him.
This is a superbly written story that has a lot of hurt/comfort being dished out. With Kai most of the hurt was physical but it was also emotional as he thought he had lost the one he loved, with Abel the hurt was all emotional as he thought he had been betrayed by the man he loved, but there is more hurt that he faces as he realizes that he abandoned his mate and his mate suffered because of it. Then there’s the comfort which is wonderfully done, both Kai and Abel comfort each other but Abel also manages to comfort Kai’s scared sister giving her the safety she hasn’t had in so long.
I loved this story and absolutely adore Kai and Abel, both men have been through a lot and yes even though you don’t want to you do think ‘If only Abel had confronted what he saw instead of running away’, and Kai, poor poor Kai, stuck in a position that was impossible especially when he was so young but you do wish he had reached out himself. This really is a brilliant story that pulls on the heart strings and has you cheering when Kai gets his revenge, I loved how easily they put the past behind them, they refuse to let the past drag them down… that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t leave it’s scars on Kai because it does but with the security of his mate he can deal.
I recommend this to those who love shifters, abuse being overcome, exacting revenge the way only a shifter can, hot sex and a very happy wonderful ending.

David is used to getting what he wants, and what he wants is gorgeous young Jenner, who begins to realize every fantasy and wild desire could be his for the taking, if only he dares to ask and obediently serve. (M/M/M)
Review:Learning from the Master by Lynn Kelling is the prequel to Bound by Lies. I love reading these short stories because I feel like I’m being told a secret about the character that I didn’t know prior.
Jenner is used to being in control of his life but the minute he walks through the doors at Manse, a gay nightclub, he knows immediately he is out of his element. When David, the owner of the club, sits down beside Jenner scoping him out, he instantly has a case of butterflies.
Jenner goes to the club mainly looking for sex. What he finds is so much more than he ever expected. David takes control of Jenner immediately and focuses all his attention on giving Jenner every type of pleasure he can imagine.
Manse is a BDSM club so it’s not long until David is mastering Jenner. He wants to show him what being a master and sub are about and train him so that he can one day have his own sub.
Shea is David’s sub and he arranges for the two to meet and form a connection. His goal is to show Jenner how special and precious having a sub is and how to appreciate them to the fullest.
This is a short story so everything happens pretty quickly. Lynn does a great job of putting a lot of detail and information into the story so that you get the full experience of what is happening.
Even though it is short the author doesn’t cut corners on the importance of safety and rules within the BDSM world. David is always very conscientious of what is going on and making sure Jenner is okay with the training.
This is a great introduction into how Jenner gets his start of being a Master. Lynn is a great storyteller and one of the best when it comes to BDSM. Every story I’ve read by her always has my full attention and I quickly become enthralled in the storyline.
Whether it’s a novella or a full novel Lynn tells the story brilliantly. You definitely want to read this if you have read Bound by Lies and if you haven’t I would encourage you to read both.
If you like BDSM in your stories, Lynn Kelling is the author to read.

Title: Deathtrap Series: The Wyverns, # 2 Author: L.M. Somerton Genre: Contemporary Length: Novella (66 pages) Publisher: Totally Bound Publishing (July 14th 2015) Early Download Available June 16th 2015 Heat Level: Explicit Heart Rating: ♥♥♥♥♥ 4 ½ Hearts Blurb: A man without scars never had to fight for something he believed in.
A new relationship takes time and effort. A new relationship with Orlando de la Pena takes a whole lot more. As a Dom, Rogue knows what he wants, but Orlando refuses to fit neatly into the box labeled ‘submissive’. He’s feisty, demanding and far too pretty for his own good.
Orlando loves Rogue and he’s learning to love The Wyverns, but he hates being stuck out in the desert. Finding a niche in the world of bikes and fierce warriors is difficult, and Orlando’s impatience gets the better of him. He walks out into the desert and runs into an antisocial diamondback.
Rogue has more than one problem to deal with. The Longhorns MC issues a challenge for territory. The Bellazi cartel is out for Wyvern blood.
The Wyverns are under siege, and Rogue has to work out how to save not just Orlando, but all of them.
Reader Advisory: This book contains scenes of mild BDSM.
Review: This the second book in the Wyvern’s series.
Orlando is a feisty, smart man who is in love with Rogue, but feels like all he is a servant. When he decides to go out for a walk despite the danger he realizes he may have been a little too impulsive. Rogue is a dominating man who cares for Orlando deeply but has never told him. When Orlando’s live is in danger he realizes just how deep his feelings run.
I loved Orlando’s attitude in the face of large tough bikers. He seemed fearless and was not afraid to speak his mind. Rogue seemed to pay more attention to the club’s problems rather than Orlando’s needs until it was almost too late. So glad he came to his senses. These two seemed made for each other.
The fight between Wayne and Rogue was intense. I thought it was funny how Rogue took care of the Bellazi problem without having to lift a finger. Great read.

Quinn and Valerian have come through the trials of facing an undead lich queen and the perils of falling in love. Now they work to restore AURA to its previous strength and efficiency while navigating their new life with each other. Fortunately, they’re not in this alone.
Kai Hiltas has taken over as the head of the research department at AURA and has become everyone’s favorite workaholic, everyone except his lover Tenzin, who has had enough of his late nights and broken promises. As Kai tries to salvage his relationship, he finds a teacher for Quinn, who also happens to be one of Valerian’s new officers, Flax Wolfheart, a sexy elf with trouble written all over him.
Flax has motives beyond simply teaching Quinn to control his magic. He’s trying to recover from his own losses and failures, but he has a plan. The two newest elvish crossovers, Ash and Sage, are sizzling hot and might even like him. With them as backup as he tracks a deadly stone mage and figures out how to teach Quinn, Flax sees his chance to impress Val and snag a place by his captain’s side.
On the hunt for both danger and redemption, Flax’s pursuit leads him ultimately down trails he never expected.
Review:This book is part of a series and should be read in order.
This book picks up a little after the last. Since then Valerian has taken on the Captaincy spot that was left open after the prior events. Quinn has started working on a freelance basis for the AURA research department. Valerian and Quinn are now living full-time together as the bonded pair they are. The fire between them has not cooled down and they are still sex as hell together.
But this story is not only about Valerian and Quinn. There is also the Kai and his Tenzin having issues with their bonding. As an extra bonus there is the story of Flax, an elf hunter for AURA who finds his matches in two elf newcomers to Earth. Throughout all the relationships is the ongoing issue of someone with the power to turn people into stone. To say the least, a hell of a lot goes on.
There are the interconnecting relationships, not just the romantic but also the friendships that have developed. Even as they hunt for the person turning people into stone, the emotional bonds of the three romantic relationships are highlighted and explored.
Kai and Tenzin experience bumps in their bonding.
As Kai works himself to the bone, he has put a strain on his relationship. Instead of putting Tenzin first, he has focused on work. And Tenzin takes drastic measures. Now Kai has to learn a different way of balancing his work and personal life.
Meanwhile, Flax has issues of his own. When he first landed in the human world he did not handle it well. Alone he turned to drugs and nearly lost himself. Now working as an officer for AURA he hunts those bent on causing problems. When he is blackmailed into training Quinn, he does with the wrong ideas that nearly backfire on him.
It isn’t until Ash and Sage come through an event that he learns there may be something else out there for him. And let me tell you these three are smoking hot together.
The descriptions and dialogue are rich and lushly descriptive. Even with so much going on with the different relationship that are already established and the new one taking place I did not find myself getting lost. Everything was easy to follow.
I loved the first book and I loved this one too. The concept is different, interesting, and it’s not one-dimensional. Because of that I have been drawn into this world the authors have created. I enjoy the different characters and their unique traits.
This series is turning out to be an awesome urban fantasy and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
