Before Sam can say ‘I only want human cases’ he’s knee deep in werewolves, dragons, vampires and witches.

The Case of The Cupid Curse

Sam Enderson is a human detective who inherits a building from where his Uncle used to run a detective agency. He finds himself working for paranormal creatures despite his resolve to stick with humans only. To supplement his income as a new PI Sam rents out rooms in the large house.

Bob is a vampire and turns up on Sam’s doorstep to rent a room. Sparks fly and Sam is attracted to the vampire despite himself.

Sam is cursed by a witch, and has two cases landing on his desk. Werewolves, annoying ghosts and a grumpy gargoyle are enough to drive Sam mad. But somehow in amongst all of this he has to find a missing fae and a missing shifter child.

The Case of the Wicked Wolf

Naiads, humans, sirens and a challenge for Alpha make up the intricate story in the race to rescue the missing children.

Sam and Bob have more than just the case of one lost child to handle. Not only is Shelby Hartman missing, but other paranormal children have disappeared. The race to rescue the children is hampered by naiads, humans, sirens and a challenge for Alpha.

Hartman Hunter is desperate to find his daughter. He turns to the demon Danjal Naamah for help. The problem is that Danjal is the only person Hartman has ever loved—the man he let go for the sake of the pack…

Review: A familiar light hearted drama with some corrupted cop suspense in the mix. Kade and Joe area familiar characters to any fan of Mary Calmes, and if you enjoy the Marshalls or Matter of Time series you’ll enjoy this read too. Joe is your typical fix it man, and Kade is the big dominant bad boy and together their strengths and weaknesses complement each other and make them a great couple. This biggest question in the plot is will they make it past those weaknesses to see that what they really need is right in front of their eyes.

This friends to lovers romance starts off with a bang, lots of corruption, a bit of violence, protecting witnesses and multiple investigations and then takes a detour when Joe and Kade need to get out of town fast. This detour forces Joe to confront what he has been running from, his family and what he has been longing to run into, Kade’s arms. Lots of familiar scenarios if you’re a Mary fan, and I am. This is a fun, fast paced, feel good read. I always like insta-mommies anyhow!

Michael Tell does a wonderful job reading the story smoothly, adding unique characterizations, and timing pauses and dramatic scenes perfectly.

Blurb: Long nights lead to intrigue… and infatuation.

Chronically ill with a mysterious condition, Yusuf “Joey” Franke escapes his smothering family and doctors by moving halfway across the country to enroll in Cody College. Not long after arriving on campus, some of his symptoms disappear, only to be replaced by debilitating insomnia. Joey spends his nights wandering the halls of his dormitory and hanging out with gregarious and affable Owen, who works the night shift.

When he suddenly shifts from a sick college kid to a massive Asiatic lion, Joey discovers another side to Cody College—it’s a haven for shifters like himself… and like Owen, a part-time great horned owl. And being a shifter is hereditary, which means his parents have some explaining to do.
When Joey and Owen investigate, they discover more than they bargained for—a family deception, a dangerous enemy with international connections, and a love that might be too new to survive the backlash.

Review: After listening to the audio book of the first installment of j, leigh bailey’s Shifter U series, I decided to get onto the next 2 books quick smart, ‘cos that just how I roll. Anyway, I was really looking forward this because the world of the first book and have subsequently enjoyed the second book in the series. Although this is a series, after reading all three books, I believe that these books can work either as a standalone or reading in order. I just prefer to read things in order.

The Night Owl and the Insomniac has a lot of wonderful elements put together to make a story that is about self-discovery, romance, danger and intrigue. I will admit that I had worked out exactly what was happening (for the most part anyway if not all the finer details) early in the book.

However, that did not take away from how much I enjoyed this story.

Yusuf “Joey” Franke has been suffering from what he was told was a chronic autoimmune disease all his life, though his specialist had never been able to diagnose him. He has been coddled and protected from the world by his well-meaning parents, who you find out are quite worldly in the end, though they still seem to come across as naïve when it comes to their son’s lifelong “illness”.

Leaving Chicago and moving far away to Cody College his symptoms disappear but only to be replaced by insomnia. During these sleepless nights in the dorm he meets Owen, who works night shift at the desk.

Owen is the son of the local shifter doctor and attends college at the suitably nicknamed Shifter U. He is an owl shifter, so understands not everything is as it appears. But he gets quite a shock one day when he comes across his new acquaintance at the dorms, Yusuf, shifting for the first time in his life. Yusuf’s beast is quite different to any big cat Owen has seen and so Owen, Owen’s father and the local grizzly bear Buddy pull together to help Yusuf discover himself. Owen does a lot of the help and support as they dig into Yusuf’s past and he faces the possibility that his parents aren’t his biological parents because he has no idea about shape shifters until he shifts himself.

The best thing that I like about this book is that it combines themes/plot devices I’ve seen in books before but not put together in a wonderfully written story, at least not that I’ve read anyway. The mystery is intriguing, while not too much of a heavy read. It’s a lot of fun and I love the chemistry between the guys. Additionally, like the previous books, I found myself able to relate to the emotions and baggage of both MCs, although both are very different and quite often at cross purposes. I highly recommend reading this book and series to anyone who loves a good shifter tale.

As they dive into the case with the help of their friends at the FBI and LAPD, Felix and Pope realize the Dark Web site is selling more than documents. It’s selling death.

When a man connected with the website turns up murdered, it’s all hands on deck and with so many letter agencies involved in this case, coordinating all parties is bound to be a challenge. When yet another agency unexpectedly gets involved, their bosses would find it laughable if it wasn’t so damned dangerous.

When a bomb almost kills them, they have no choice but to shorten that learning curve. From the mean streets of Hollywood to unfamiliar places on the Dark Net, our heroes put themselves in danger every moment, trying their best to protect innocents while keeping each other alive.

Order and Anarchy contains an exciting excerpt from Crime and Chaos Book 3!.

Review: Felix and Pope are back in this exciting sequel as they with the help of other agencies and friends try and track down the owner of Brokendoor dot com, an online buy site where you can buy anything. The most prominent is counterfeit documents that look real and pass inspections of us customs and law enforcement.

I really liked how well the different agencies worked together. It was nice seeing characters from different series all working together toward a common goal. This series keeps getting better and better with each new book.

Amazing details and investigative work lend a realistic feel to an amazing story. I loved Felix and Pope’s characters. All in all it a breathtaking book with plenty of suspense, action and some funny moments as well hot action between the sheets.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Review: Each book in the Federal Paranormal Agency collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Jeremy is a FPA agent and a shifter, he remembers when he found Roman and the shape he was in. Roman had been raped, beaten, and starved. The moment his friend brought him out, Jeremy knew that he had found his mate. He was just afraid to claim the man due to what had happened. He didn’t want to scare or hurt his little mate. However his lizard knew that the man was his mate, and wasn’t letting him out of his sight.

Roman remembered the time of his capture, but that did not mean he was going to let it define him. He wanted his mate to claim him, and if becoming an agent would help to prove he was strong then so be it.

The story is well rounded and fully developed. The characters are charming, fierce and damn sexy. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end. I got a big kick out of Jeremy’s animal side, what a cutie, for a very big lizard. This is probably one of my favorite types of series, full of action and excitement, some hot sex and add in the danger and damn if I am not eating it up.

I had a blast reading this and can not wait to get my hands on the next book. I would definitely recommend this.

Review: After breaking up with Rick, Berkley moves on with his live and takes a job with Peter as a high end escort. His first Client is Sebastian. Sebastian has invented a way to travel, teleportation, without the the need for loss of hours in a car or plane. I found it intriguing. The connection between these two men was hot.

Frederick is the next client Berkley meets and finds out he is working for an organization that want to stop Sebastian. I figured it was no coincidence Frederick meets Berkley when he’s asked to steal the plans for the teleportation. Frederick and Berkley have a stronger connection.

I liked this addition to the series. It felt more like a spy story at times which I enjoyed.

Great read.

Review: Each book in the Rescue for Hire West collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. In this case I would start reading Rescue for Hire, the original start to the both series. It will introduce you to the men who are sent to save others.

Morgan has had a hard life, one that was filled with disappointment and abandonment. He had always thought that he was meant to be alone, that no one would want to keep him. He was the computer expert for the Rescue for Hire West. When one of the savings brought in a small child, he decided he wanted to adopt the child. Then even that fell through, his heart was broken in more ways then one. Then in comes Tatum.

Tatum was the one that rescued Reese when he was hurt badly in a car accident. He was also the one that recognized him and called for help. He was however getting burned out and needed a change. Rescue for Hire West might just save him also. When he meets Morgan, he knew that he has found the man for him. Now all he has to do is to prove to the man he was wanted.

Each one of these stories is a fascinating tale that have a twist to them. They are action packed and danger filled. The men are sexy as hell and have a story to tell. The worlds this author creates is entertaining and exciting and down right hot. What is the best part of this particular story is the fact that the author lets us know that there is going to be a new series coming out soon.

I enjoyed reading this and can not wait to get my hands on the next book. This is one of those types of stories that will be read many times over.

Review: Seth and Jack were cute together. Seth’s plan to meet him doesn’t go as expected but it turns out all right for the to of them. I liked Max’s sense of humor, but the pack dynamic doesn’t feel quite right. I assume that’s because people are still getting used to things.

I’m looking forward to the next book.

Great read with lots of sexy times.

Review: I love reading VL Locey’s books. In fact, I actually got my hands on a couple of these novellas when they first came out, but since I’d never read the first one I never got the full background. In the last couple years I’ve been devouring Locey’s ice hockey based books, so this was a nice change of pace, although I absolutely adore many of her other books.

This collection, An Erie Collection, brings together the first three novellas of the Lake Erie Shifters series, in addition to a new story: An Erie Halloween, An Erie Operetta, An Erie Garden Party and An Erie Uprising.

In An Erie Halloween, cute little skunk shifter Templeton Reed meets wolf shifter Mikel Lupei and the couple fall in love and mate. In An Erie Operetta, Mikel wants his pack to be classy and proposes a night out at the opera. This means suit fittings and all sorts of hijinks. In An Erie Garden Party, spring may have come and melted the snow away, but a new comer to the pack means that everyone is in danger. However, the question is, why is the new comer a danger. That answer leads us to the new novella in the series, An Erie Uprising. The pack manor is now providing shelter to other LGBTQ paranormal creatures. However, not all is good in the paranormal world because their way of life is fast coming undone. Templeton and Mikel have to fight to keep their new pack together as well as somehow battle the outside forces threatening their peace and harmony.

Templeton is the heart of this series, he is sweet and funny. When it comes to having to deal with members of his and his mate’s pack it’s usually pretty damn funny. Because let’s face it, the skunk is feisty and the wolves are grumpy! At the heart of it, these are some cute stories that are a mix of sweetness and some harsh realities which are faced by the shifters of Lake Erie. Mainly, these guys have to deal with homophobia and the fact that to many shifters, same sex relationships are outlawed. When I say cute, I mean it in the fact that these novellas are full of hope and there is a happy ending for the two MCs.

Blurb: Moonmates exist, but getting together is going to be a beast….

When Adrian Rothschild skipped his “werewolf puberty”, he assumed he was, somehow, human.

But he was wrong, and he’s about to go through his Turn with a country between him and his Pack – scared, alone, and eight years late.

Dr. Tate Lewis’ werewolf supremacist father made his Turn miserable, and now Tate works for Camp H.O.W.L. to ease the transition for young werewolves. He isn’t expecting to offer guidance to a grown man – or find his moonmate in Adrian. Tate doesn’t even believe in the legendary bond; after all, his polygamist father claimed five. But it’s clear Adrian needs him, and if Tate can let his guard down, he might discover he needs Adrian, too.

A moonmate is a wolf’s missing piece, and Tate is missing a lot of pieces. But is Adrian up to the challenge?

Review: Camp H.O.W.L is the first book in a series by Bru Baker going by the same name. I didn’t know what to expect. I wasn’t 100% sold by the blurb – I was concerned that this was going to be a fluffy story with not a lot of substance. The one thing that I did look forward to was Dorian Bane’s narration. I really love Bane’s narration and I believe that his husky, deep voice is perfect for alpha shifters. He also has a gift of adding the appropriate level of emotion through the tone of his voice and in this book it really helped me to relate to both MCs.

However, all my worries regarding the book were for nothing. I was immediately pulled into an interesting world of werewolves who struggle with their second puberty where they finally shift into their wolf counterpart on the full moon near their 19th birthday.

Adrian Rothschild is 27, his mother is one of the most powerful wolf alphas in the US and for reasons that were not found out for by shifter doctors he never experienced the Turn at 19. He has since resigned himself to be a human among a pack of wolves. A pack that, despite his family’s position, he doesn’t feel like he belongs to fully. Therefore, he’s happy to be away from his family to work. The problem is, when he takes a holiday far away from his pack and home, Adrian suddenly starts to get the symptoms of the change. Thinking it’s just the flu, Adrian pushes himself until he’s in trouble.

Adrian meets Dr Tate Lewis, a man he feels an inexplicable pull towards. Tate works for Camp H.O.W.L, a sort of hidden camp/school where wolf families send their teens about to make the turn to go through their first change. He’s one of the camp councilors because he doesn’t want other wolflings to go through what he had gone through as the son of an alpha with some perverse beliefs.

When Adrian and Tate meet, it’s assumed that the connection they have is one called a Turn Mate. Turns out that wasn’t quite right, though, because they are moonmates, which is basically a term for soul mate or mate as seen in other paranormal stories. Tate has a lot of baggage from his formative years and therefore is not ready to accept the bond with Adrian.

I will admit, I got a little annoyed at Tate and that was because his angst and brooding was hurting Adrian. I absolutely adored Adrian. I reckon that’s a pretty good indicator of a book. Any fans of shape shifter stories will like this one. Just because this is set in a camp doesn’t mean that there is anything childish about the book. There is not outrageous alpha behavior, a lot of sweetness, a broody psychologist (I think that’s what Tate is?), some excellent chemistry and just a lot of fun.

Heat For Sale

(Heat for Sale 01)
by

Blake Moreno

Heat can be sold but love is earned.

In a world where omegas sell their heats for profit, Adrien is a university student in need of funding. With no family to fall back on, he reluctantly allows the university’s matcher to offer his virgin heat for auction online. Anxious, but aware this is the reality of life for all omegas, Adrien hopes whoever wins his heat will be kind.

Heath—a wealthy, older alpha—is rocked by the young man’s resemblance to his dead lover, Nathan. When Heath discovers Adrien is Nathan’s lost son from his first heat years before they met, he becomes obsessed with the idea of reclaiming a piece of Nathan.

Heath buys Adrien’s heat with only one motivation: to impregnate Adrien, claim the child, and move on. But their undeniable passion shocks him. Adrien doesn’t know what to make of the handsome, mysterious stranger he’s pledged his body to, but he’s soon swept away in the heat of the moment and surrenders to Heath entirely.

Once Adrien is pregnant, Heath secrets him away to his immense and secluded home. As the birth draws near, Heath grows to love Adrien for the man he is, not just for his connection to Nathan. Unaware of Heath’s past with his omega parent and coming to depend on him heart and soul, Adrien begins to fall as well.

But as their love blossoms, Nathan’s shadow looms. Can Heath keep his new love and the child they’ve made together once Adrien discovers his secrets?

Heat for Sale is a stand-alone m/m erotic romance by Leta Blake, writing as Blake Moreno. Infused with a du Maurier Rebecca-style secret, it features a well-realized omegaverse, an age-gap, dominance and submission, heats, knotting, and scorching hot scenes.

Review: You will be in awe of the Klune’s ability to capture and communicate the human condition.

This is not your traditional romance, and if you’re looking for erotica, look elsewhere. There are sexual scenes described of a highly intimate and loving nature, but that is not what this book is about. This book is about the struggles and devastation that a loving relationship comes crashing up against. Olive Juice is about pain, loss, and love. You will be moved, you will maybe cry, you will be in awe and you will stand and applaud. Don’t read spoilers, don’t ask for a bigger explanation, just dive right in. I wish I could write more but I want each reader to walk into this masterpiece blind.

The narration is perfect and powerful, Derrick McClain impresses me so much I find myself browsing his project list and grabbing books just because he’s narrated them.

Blurb: Brian

You’ll make it out of here, Brian. I swear.

I had everything—school quarterback, popular with girls, and my dad was proud of me. I told myself it didn’t matter no one knew the real me. And then I nearly died. Landon saved my life. He’s the bravest guy I know. He came out a few years ago, proud and fierce, and he ran into gunfire to help others. Me, I’m a mess. Can’t even stand to be in a room with the curtains open. But here’s the thing about losing it all: You get a chance to start over and be someone new. Only how can I move on when the two shooters who attacked our school were never caught? And why do I feel like I’m still in the crosshairs?

Landon

Will you kiss me?

When I came across Brian Marshall, the hottest guy in school, dying on the cafeteria floor, I did what anyone would do. I tried to save him. His request surprised me, but I figured he needed comfort, so I kissed him on the forehead. When he survived and came back to school, he was broken in body and mind. He still needed me, and soon we were unlikely besties. But what I saw at school that day woke me up. I want to demand action on gun control, lead protests, raise my fist. I’ll tear the world down if I have to. And if I can get the man of my dreams and save the world at the same time? I’ll take it. Only I didn’t understand that the horror at Jefferson Waller High wasn’t over.

Review: Boy Shattered by Eli Easton is nothing short of amazing. To be honest from reading the blurb I didn’t know what to expect, but Easton is one of my favorite authors and I was therefore more than willing to give it a go.

When I started this young adult tale of a teenager who survives a mass shooting at his high school, I thought to read only half of it and finish the rest the next night. Instead, I stayed up all night and cried from start to finish, Seriously, get those tissues ready, it’s impossible not to feel the depths or horror and despair and hope in this book.

The story is written from the POV of two teenage boys, one is a high school senior and the other is a couple years off of finishing. Landon, the senior, is out and proud to the rest of the school and not at all popular. Meanwhile Brian is a jock. He’s the quarterback on the football team, he’s friends with other jocks and to hide his sexuality he has even dated cheerleaders. Two of his friends seem to show some homophobic tendencies, while his best friend is more down to earth. Landon and Brian have both noticed each other but due to the social circles they occupy, nothing ever happens between them, or even any sort of acknowledgement of each other’s existence.

Everything changes for the boys when two gunmen open fire at the school, changing their worlds forever. Caught in the hallway, Landon does his best to find his brother and finds Brian bleeding out in the cafeteria. Brian hadn’t meant to be in the cafeteria, but when the bullets started he tried his best to hide and take cover. Brian wasn’t so lucky and as he bleeds out, Landon did his best to put pressure on the wound and keep Brian conscious.

Landon saved Brian’s life that day, but Brian has a long road to recovery. He and Landon grow close, although it is easy to see that what may have started as a dependency caused by Brian’s PTSD has turned into something more meaningful. Brian’s brush with death leaves him with a lot of fears but it also makes him want to step out of the shadows and be who he is, albeit very slowly. Landon also changes, he was already a smart and sensible guy, but he takes his passion for wanting to help others, especially since he sees the varying effects of a shooting first hand at himself and everyone at school. Landon has a great head and mind. He is one of the most inspiring characters I’ve come across, not only in young adult fiction, but any fiction.

This is a wonderful young adult novel, yet I think that it would be valuable and enjoyable for many adults as well. It is so easy to relate to the kid’s thoughts and feelings because despite the horrible circumstances it is easy to place yourself back in the mind of being a teenager once more.

The subject matter is confronting. The romance in the book is merely incidental to the actual guts of the book. However, it was the perfect mix of emotion. As many Australians, it’s difficult to understand the lack of urgency for gun reform in the US and this book highlights it all the more.

And that is the only personal view on a current affair I will put into the book review, understand that reading the book is very thought provoking and had me thinking about this. It also had me thinking, how many kids fear going to school because they know people from their school, or from other schools, who have been touched by this horror.

Review: Each book in the Eternal Flame collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This series is also connected to Eternal Flame Maddox and Kaliss collections.

Benji is a normal demon who has his best friends, his favorite hellhound who loves him and the best pet in the world. Then it all went to hell when fate decided he was to be the chosen one. Now every single demon except for his best friends wanted to mate him. His friends helped him get to safety. He knew the chosen one got three mates but he hadn’t expected to find them all at once.

Robert is the doctor for the whole town and never seems to get a minute to breathe. He hated humans and especially dragons. To him the dragons took his wife and two babies so he had good reason for hating the dragons, and now he had to obey one. One more call telling him to get his ass to the diner and damn he has found his mates. And hell one of them is a dragon.

Asbuth is gargoyle shifter and pretty much an easy guy to be around. So can you imagine his expression when he walks into the diner. Casius and his brother had lost their parents to the old war and had been pretty much raised in a gypsy tribe. Now they were in a town full of the paranormal with their two best friends, who were human. Then the surprises keep coming.

When I received this book I will admit that I went back to the very first book and started reading them all over again. I am not a fan of stories that have more then three lovers in them so it was not a big hit with me as it should have been. That aside it was pretty entertaining and I laughed my ass off at Benji and Timmy’s animals. The worlds these authors created are exciting and down right hot. I loved the characters and the way they are with each other. I will admit that Timmy will always be my favorite though. Benji comes real close though. With this story you get some hot sexy times, danger, adventure, excitement, entertainment and some sweet loving. It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more.

I had a blast reading this and can guarantee that it will be read more than once. I would definitely recommend this and I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book.

Review: This story was so good. Priest is his usual self when two new new people enter the ship. Arbor is a dwarf with some issues about his height and past as Priest soon learns upon first meeting the man. He is hired as part of the tech crew to help Mac.

Casto is on the run after having escaped the persecution of para-humans on earth. You don’t know completely about Casto’s past right away but it heartbreaking. He’s on a mission to save his brother but is a powerful man with an addiction to calm. Calm is a drug to suppress his abilities.

I loved this exciting yet powerful story about three men who each have issues, two need help with their issues, one needs help completing his mission to set his brother free. I don’t want to give away too much but it’s edge of your seat worthy with hot scenes and action that had me in awe.

The story flowed smoothly and I am looking forward to meeting more of the crew and seeing what happens with Poll. Fantastic addition to the series.

Review: Each book in the Wolves of Stone Ridge collection features a different romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order. This series is branched of to Kontra’s Menagerie, A Paranormal’s Love and so forth.

Ranger is a jackal shifter whose boss is basically evil. To keep his brother and his brother’s mate safe, he must kill and then set up the Wolves of Stone Ridge pack. To be precise, it is their alpha that is to be blamed for killing the council man. To bad he fails or should one say it is good news. It would seem he has found his mate.

Ashton is one of the bird shifters that the pack rescued from Russia. He is the alpha of his little group, but they still answer to Alpha Declan. He goes to give information and ends up finding his mate. A mate that is in trouble.

There is nothing better then a good paranormal romance with two gorgeous men involved. I love the way this author can put together a book that not only fascinates you but draws you in and keep your attention the whole time, but it will more than likely have you laughing your ass off. The characters are beautifully written with big hearts, however if you cross them, they have no problem putting you down. They will protect their mates with their entire lives.

I absolutely love this book almost as much as I have loved the other’s in this series. I can’t wait to read the next story. When Charlie Richards puts out a book I am usually there to eat them up. They do have a bit of a serious tone to them but there is a bit of humor in them that I love. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Review: I didn’t really care for this story. The first problem is the genre as I don’t like plain contemporaries. The second thing was the sheriff, Rawley. He didn’t want anyone to know he’s gay yet he answers Case’ phone and talks to his aunt about how serious he was in his intentions for Case.

Seriously He Literally just slept with the guy for the first time after meeting him a week before.

The whole story felt forced and rushed to me. The relationship was unbelievable to me considering how fast it was. Sorry but I just did not like this story.

This story was not for me.
