Blurb: Salvation follows gladiator-pit-ruler Malek and sky-ruler Soran. Their two states face destruction unless the men can form a bond they both can trust.

Sexy and violent, with great battles in a beautiful cloud city, Hawke’s work has been described as dark, bloody, and thought-provoking. Salvation should appeal to readers of gay fiction and stories involving men loving men.

Famed gladiator Malek the Destroyer has spent years secretly plotting a revolution against the oppressive Senate that rules his planet. Popular victors who have retired, left the city of Dis, or even apparently died in the arena have secretly trained as Malek’s revolutionary army.

But Malek’s revolution won’t stand a chance if only one city fights it. He reaches out to Soran, leader of the one autonomous city left on the planet, Aerix. Soran leads a caste of Skyknights, starfighter pilots famed for elaborate body modifications that make them nimble fighters and grueling training as soldiers and fighter pilots. Malek invites Soran to Dis to secure an alliance—and to tempt him with promises of power.

Review: Malek and Soren were not what I would call a loving couple. These two men would do anything for their people. They were strong minded and determined to stop the senate. Though the path is by no means easy and the loss will be devastating if they lose they still come together to stop the senate.

I loved this story. The battle scenes were epic, bloody and edge of your seat worthy. Malek unites many cities people who have been oppressed since the senates rise to power. These people are willing to do what it takes to succeed. Malek is a warrior through and through.

Soren’s people are delicate in that the alterations they have done to their bodies to make them fast also makes their bones brittle. Hence the reason why they rule the skies as they are amazing sky fighters. This is such an amazing story of epic proportions.

I am looking forward to reading the next installment to see what happens next in this epic battle.

Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, a run in with his commanding officer, Jonan Thomas, strips him — and everyone else onboard — of their gaming privileges.

Thomas has had it in for Lee from day one, when they got off on the wrong foot. Now, banned from using the game server in the rec room, Lee sneaks online in his quarters after hours, looking to play.

That’s where he meets a fellow gamer onboard who’s interested in a different kind of game. As much as Lee wants to hook up, though, he can’t afford to get into any more trouble.

Blurb: Before King Roland ruled over Earth, four dragon kingdoms fought over the plentiful planet: Ice Dragons, Sun Dragons, Earth Dragons, and Bone Dragons. One day a young dragon named Prince Grian slipped aboard the Sun Dragon ship and traveled to Earth, while on that same day, an Earth Dragon named Caden snuck away from his village. The two met and fell in love, but both were killed in battle.

The Artists, creators of the universe, were furious about the death of these true loves. As punishment, they erased the Sun Dragon race, banished the Bone Dragons to Draman, and put the Ice Dragons in the North Pole, where they could not harm the Earth Dragons. The Artists declared that the dragons would remain cursed until the true love between Grian and Caden was born again and they reunited all dragons in peace and harmony.

Years later Prince Grian is reborn, and it is up to him and his godparent, Skelly, to find his soulmate on Earth. But with the head of the Earth Dragon Protection Society, or EDPS, trying to kill him, reuniting with the love of his life seems impossible. Will Grian be able to find his match before the EDPS finds him? And if he finds Caden, will it be the true love of the prophecy?

Review: I did not read the previous books in this series due to some having f/f in them. With that said while I enjoyed Grian’s adventure in finding his so called soulmate, making plans to defeat Shull, an evil dragon wanting to do away with all dragons so he can rule the universe and change the artist’s creations the actual romance aspect was seriously lacking.

First we are introduced to Blair, a female bone dragon, who Grian thinks is his soulmate. They kiss. Ewww. I am an m/m reader only so I was unhappy with this development and as such I withdrew from the story.

Next is the introduction of Caden, Blair’s brother, this back and forth of love interest irritated me. I was glad it only happened once but it ruined the entire book for me as I felt the main character did not know what he actually wanted even though he says he is gay.

So overall we have a character on a journey to stop an evil dragon from destroying his people and taking over the world.

It was an o.k. read for me.

Review: Each book in the Demonic Tales collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

This is one family that is full of traitors but the guys are going to kick ass. Evan went through a whole lot to get the information he had stolen from the Senate to the rightful people. He knew what it would cost him but he knew in his heart it was the right thing to do.

Dea and Uri have known each other since training and they have been known to hate each other with a passion, but these two take it to the extreme sometimes. Although they are both hiding the fact that they want each other. When Dea found Evan hiding on his ship, he knew that he had to trust the young man. When danger came, it was Uri who ended up saving their butts. Lets just say things are going to heat up.

Uri has always wanted Dea but he feels that Dea is just not there yet or maybe he will never be. However when Dea is in trouble, Uri knows he will do all to save the man he loves.

This story has more action then any other book I have came across in a long time. I loved the guys although Ari is still one of my favorites. Although when Evan starts hanging with them, who knows just how much trouble those three are going to get into. It has danger, excitement, hot sexy times, action, and so much more in this book. I can tell you that this is one series that will be read more than once.

It gave me everything I could want in a story and so much more. I had a blast reading it and can’t wait to see what other stories this amazing author has coming.

Review: Each book in the Demonic Tales collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Bo was pretty much raised by the ruling father when his family had been killed in an explosion. He had done all that he could and needed to do to make colbot warrior status. Now he was their commander and wore that with pride. When his group saved his Prince’s mate and another young man from being sold off, he knew that his heart has been given to the young man. However demons don’t date, they screw. However Bo knew that he was going to have to go slow and learn to date.

Ari is a sweet young man who has been belittled his entire life by his family and others. He was unique in the fact that he could have children but it made him easy to sell to others. When he was rescued by the demon’s he was frightened but strangly he felt protected by their commander. He just needed to remember that when his mother shows up and starts her crap, as usual.

Bo and Ari were a big hit with me, and the best part was Bo’s reaction to Ari’s surprising news. Just wait for it, because it will have you laughing. Ari was the biggest hit and boy is that young man going to be a handful.

This story was fascinating and made me want to read book one again as well as read this one a second time. I can tell with the first paragraph that it will be one of my favorite series and will be read many times over. It has excitement, hot sexy time, danger and some crazy attitudes in it, and so much more than what I could have asked for. It caught my attention from the moment I started reading and kept it all the way to the end, so much so that I stayed up way past my bed time to read it.

I cannot wait to start reading the next book and would definitely recommend it.

Review: Each book in the Avanti Chronicles collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characers, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Wow, I don’t even know where to really start with this review. This has been probably the best story I have came across in a long time. It is an emotional rollercoaster for many. Hunter and Tir have finally got their happy ending, but not without a load of pain before hand.

This starts off with Chance getting caught in a trap and damn if that boy is not as strong as his family. It leads us on a very dangerous trip for our favorite guys. While Hunter and the guys are out looking for more traps and who laid them, Hunter is taken.

This forces Tir to realize his feelings for Hunter and to show him what he means to him. That is after he finds him. Which once more leads us to betrayal in the clan, severe injuries, close death encounters, Chance’s coming into a special girt and so much more. The way the author protrayed them in all their true feelings was pretty amazing. I would definitely love to have a Refrinti for myself, they are so dedicated and loyal, not to mention strong of heart. The conspiracy that shows a bit more to what they are looking at is very complex and sometimes a bit confusing.

There is a mystery just dying to be solved, pieces coming together but still a big one out of sight. The connection that the characters have with each other is truly amazing. The connection they have with the Refrinti is mind blowing, and not to mention the connection the Refrinti have with each other. This is a truly complex and I just can’t even think of the word type of story. The love these two men have for each other is hot and damn set the sheets on fire please.

I will admit that it wasn’t until I started reading this book that I wanted to go back and read the previous ones. They don’t stand out like they should, but this one brings them all back to me. I guess it just has been a long time since I had read them, that makes me wish I kept them a bit closer. I will also admit that the added chronicle part doesn’t really do it justice. However that will all definitely change, because this story made me want to go read them all right now, and then read this one over.

I had a lot of fun reading this, and will admit a bit of tears, but lots of fun. I would definitely recommend this book.

Blurb: At first, Damien feels lucky to land a job at an influential art studio, but it soon becomes obvious that something’s not right. His gorgeous boss, John, is interested, and he’d be the perfect man for Damien—if Damien wasn’t already in a relationship. It isn’t long before Damien is at the center of a love triangle, forced to choose between hot, punk John and his secret affair with his professor, Levi. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg, because something impossible is happening to Damien—and it’s having a drastic effect on his health as well as his perception of reality.

Each time Damien goes to work, things grow more bizarre, starting with Sam—an artist who has been dead for years and now somehow… isn’t. Damien’s unusual circumstances also free him from the restrictions of monogamy—or so he thinks. Levi, who cannot believe Damien’s claims, fears for his sanity. John also has strong doubts when Damien reveals knowledge of a catastrophic event looming in John’s future. Whether the men he loves believe his wild claims or not, neither can deny Damien is languishing, and if they cannot save him, he’ll be lost. More importantly, they must convince Damien to save himself.

Review: While I enjoyed this story with it’s twists and turns and trying to figure certain things out I felt the relationship aspect a little out there for me. Damian is a young man in a relationship with his former professor. Now, I do not have a problem with older and younger in a relationship. What I had the problem with was Damian acted like he could not speak up about things bothering him. Um why Not? He’s twenty. I’m sorry but I did not get it. At twenty I certainly let my feelings known when I felt something was not right.

I liked John’s character as well as Levi’s. As they both seemed a lot more stable than Damian’s. I was confused by the fact that Damian never seemed to grow up in his character. I thought he would have learned a bit more about relationships as well as himself by the end but it did not feel that way to me.

So overall I liked the plot but not the relationship in it. That was a huge disappointment to me.
It was an o.k. read.

Held captive by strange bug-like creatures who’d just as soon eat him as look at him. How can a simple mission go so awry? To make matters worse, Noland’s not alone. His fellow prisoner, a certain high-ranking, elite Stella officer holds him responsible for their failed plan. Yeah, it was supposed to be a quick in and quick out sort of mission. But no… Officer Gavnson just can’t let it go.

It’s not so easy trying to plan an escape when Noland keeps getting distracted by how his mission partner so very nicely fills out his uniform. And he suspects Gavnson is hiding something, too. As tensions run high, secrets are revealed that will change the both of them. There’s nothing like gunfights and running for your life to make that special bond.

Review: Mark was raised by mercenaries and became one. He is now, however an ex-mercenary. It would seem he does have a soul. To bad he is in a prison cell on a hostile planet. And guess what, his cell mate is none other than an high-ranking and very elite officer who he has the hots for. An officer who is blaming it all on him.

Short and very hot is what I would say this was. No sex, just kissing but hey you take what you can get. These two argue just like they are married so who knows. This author was new to me, so I wasn’t to sure what I was getting. However it was a fun little jolt to the system.

Although I do hope they manage to get some skin action in book two.

Blurb: In an 1867 that never was, the American colonies are finally gearing up to revolt against oppressive British rule enforced by advanced technology. British airship captain Hamilton Arkwright is captured by the rebels when his vessel is commandeered. The insurgents are also aided—reluctantly—by young Jonny Callahan, a thief and ne’er-do-well who would rather carouse on the streets of New Orleans than fight for independence. When the two seemingly opposite men are thrown together on a harrowing journey across the war-torn colonies, they must grudgingly rely on each other for survival. Despite their efforts to resist, the attraction between them threatens to throw a wrench in their plans to remain enemies.

They battle their way through American guerillas and a demolition-derby-type highway to reach the decimated streets of Chicago, where British forces are preparing to commit a war crime of enormous magnitude. Though affection has grown between them during their mission, they are still on conflicting sides, and they may have to choose between loyalty to their causes and their love.

Review: An interesting turn for the time period. Hamilton and Johnny are engaging characters with a love interest. But things are from easy for the two. There is a mystery of sorts, a plan to capture Captain Hamilton that has Johnny in it’s midst.

Though I did like the story I found some things difficult to understand. Aside from that the plot was different yet intriguing for this time period. I loved reading about the colonies revolt, how they went about things in this alternate view.

Amazing details about the history and each character throughout. The science fiction element was a nice touch that added to the story rather than detract from it. All in all it was a good read with a great cast of characters that added depth to the story.

Good read.

Review: Dr. Wells travels to planets across the galaxy to investigate lost civilizations. He excels at lost languages and has cracked thirteen so far. The lost planets have hardly any signs they ever existed but for a few writings here and there. The problem is there are others in search of the same thing and will stop at nothing to find the answers first.

I liked this story. It was adventurous and entertaining to globe trot along with Wells and Chas. I was never quite sure whether they were in a romance or not as the story progressed. The book seems to start slow and lag at other times. There is a lot of information on the technology used throughout, which I appreciated.

I am eagerly awaiting the second book to see what else happens in the series. I hope that it will not be drawn out like this one though. Hopefully there will answers to questions that I feel were left unanswered in this one.

Great read.

Review: We join this epic journey as the SEED awakens; the SEED is all that’s left after a deadly plague wiped out their powerful Galactic Empire, asleep for thousands of years it now needs a host so it can begin to rebuild a civilization that prospered and was peaceful.

Earth is no more it was destroyed by the Treech and humanity fled, the last of humanity now reside on two planets with New Hope reigning over Promise. The Terran Confederation has a stranglehold on its people, their rules are absolute and the people in power are greedy and determined to grab as much power as possible.

From the Terran Exploration Vessel Dragon Eye, Ranger team Jar’ek Constandor and Kallehn Frix and their X’Ah-Panths partners, S’Fah and J’Uhr (genetically enhanced Panther’s that they can mind-touch with), are sent down to Jaden-325-4 to discover any abandoned alien technology that could aid the Terran Confederation. But disaster strikes and Jar’ek has to take a risk if he is to rescue Kallehn from certain death.

This is an amazing story; the imagination that went into creating the world building and characters is just mind blowing. The characters are fully fleshed out and interesting, the secondary characters are just as fully developed and we get to see some interesting changes as they begin to face the reality of their situation.

While it took a little while to get used to the writing style the storyline gripped me from the beginning, I found myself sucked into an out of this world experience and became fully invested in Jar’ek and Kallehn and the adventure they had begun. We get taken to far flung corners of the Galaxy (and beyond) as we follow a host of characters (including AI probes), we face danger and mystery, intrigue and betrayal… ah it was just a perfect mix.

Jar’ek and Kallehn are a well suited couple, they are best friends and Ranger partners but have always kept their true feelings for each other hidden as it’s against the Terran Confederation’s rules (just so you know ANY intimate relations are frowned upon for any Terren). Their life and death situation and the drastic actions of Jar’ek change all that and they finally speak the truth to each other.

We also have other relationships develop as other characters situations change; just maybe Jar’ek’s actions could free the last of humanity from their chains. But! That’s not all, Jar’ek has a new mission to undertake, rebuilding the Harmonic Empire, gather any of the Empire that was lost and bring peace and harmony to all worlds. It will be a trial as Jar’ek and Kallehn take up their new responsibilities.

Now I mentioned that the writing style took a bit of getting used to, well I was thrown at first because of how it was arranged but it also made it very easy to know just who was speaking.

 SEED:  {“If you are judged worthy, you will have the power to heal your friend.  If you are judged unworthy, we can do nothing for him or you.  That is the way of things.  We cannot vary from the protocol.”}

Jar’ek:  “So, I must surrender myself and give up everything that I am or could ever be so that I can save my friend?”

At first I thought it was written the way it was because it was a consciousness speaking to an AI, then because the people speaking were on a space ship, but as it continued to happen I began to care less about why it was happening and was just glad that it was so clear as to who was speaking, especially when you have the Terren’s, the X’Ah-Panths, the SEED and the AI’s conversing at different times throughout the story so you never have to try to figure out just who said what.

Now the characters are great, they have a lot thrown at them in just a small timeframe especially Jar’ek so we do have some meltdowns as they get used to their new lives, but saying that I did want to give Jar’ek a smack with the risks he took *shakes head* seriously man, the weight of an Empire rests on your shoulders and you’re not invincible!

I will hold my hands up and admit that putting the story down was hard, it became ‘just one more chapter’ and then the end of the book appeared and it was 3.30am!!!! And oh my god what an ending… they’d just discovered an important message and bam! There’s the ending and me wishing the next book was published so I could continue reading *pout*

So this is a thoroughly entertaining story with plenty of action, danger, a couple of romances and a hefty challenge. If you love science fiction and space opera then you must give this book a shot, it is just fantastic.

Review: Fascinating story about a world trying to reestablish itself after almost being wiped out by AI’s. Jaime has the unique ability to be able to communicate with computers. However there are those that hunt his kind down for elimination. Hiding and keeping away from all who would use and do him harm lands him in Ronan’s hands as his prisoner.

Ronan was a soldier for the commonwealth who is on a secret mission aboard a smugglers ship. He is cold and indifferent until meeting Jaime. The mission takes a dangerous turn when events unforeseen lead the crew into perilous situations where all is not as it seems.

I liked the whole story. The crew were lively and likeable and added to the story as it progressed. The different groups were out for their own purposes and the commonwealth were shady in my opinion. I felt for Jaime and all that he had been through. Ronan seemed to be trying to impress the wrong people at first.

Great read with adventure, action, mystery and suspense with two hot men and a great cast of characters.

Review: While I enjoyed this tale about Erron and Gamin I was disappointed that there was no action scenes in it. After all it is a sci-fi story. Nevertheless Erron captivated me from the start as he lost everything and was hired on the Santa Claus as a cook.

The man who was like a father to him and disappeared, Gamin, is also on board. What starts out as a get to know each other better turns into a tension filled story with Erron on the receiving end of cold shoulders after a question leaves Gamin in depression.

He takes Barrus and Jamie up on the offer of comfort much to the dismay of Gamin. I had already figured out Gamin’s feelings for Erron and was happy with the outcome. Though Erron was stricken in the book and had to adjust his life due to circumstances beyond his control it all worked out in the end.

Great read.

Review: Loved this story of Hadrian and Liam. Captain Danverse and Liam have been friends and lovers for a while but the physical aspect is a coping mechanism for Liam to deal with their last mission. He suffers from nightmares and guilt at what he had done. Hadrian is genetically modified person. He’s strong, fast and has other abilities. He is labled as a slave to the one who owns him.
Escaping with help and getting aboard the Santa Claus was the only thing Hadrian focused on but meeting Liam he felt a connection that he couldn’t ignore. But when danger comes knocking it tests all of them.

I loved this story. The first half of the book is drama based where we get background on some characters and are introduced to Mac, the tech guy who is secretly in love with captain and vice versa. So there are plenty relationships throughout the story.

My favorite part was learning about Hadrian and all that entails. I was saddened by what he had gone through and how that came to be. I was incensed at the person who owned him. Hadrian never should have gone through what he had at the whim of someone in power.

An amazing detailed suspense and romance filled story with action scenes that leave you awed. I loved everything about this story and am looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Highly recommended.

Review: Sasha has Bliase get in contact with Harry, a reclusive creature highly intelligent, to get a leg up on the war. What he discovers upon meeting the man is an intriguing and highly attractive being. The two hit it off and create astounding chemistry together.

I have to say all in all I was disappointed with this series. If you’re looking for hot sex and romance this is the series for you. If you’re looking for a combo of romance, suspense and action this series was lacking in the action and suspense. There was a serious lack of details in each book. It seemed as though those were glanced over in favor of the physical and romance aspects of the book.

O.k. read for me.

Hot cargo by Nicki Bennett & Ariel Tachna

Title: Hot Cargo

Series: Hot Cargo 02

Author: Nicki Bennett & Ariel Tachna

Genre: BDSM, Science Fiction

Length: Novel (294pgs)

Publisher: Dreamspinner Press (February 2, 2009)

Heat Level: Moderate

Heart Rating: ♥♥♥ 3 Hearts

Blurb: Captured and accused of piracy, privateer Blaise Risner, captain of the Golden Stallion, finds himself in a clinch – literally – with Confederation Admiral Peter Keller, who promises to see justice done by way of hard labor. But when the chemistry between them rivals the heat of the twin Talixin suns, the dominant admiral decides he wants to handle the rehabilitation of the provocative pirate himself. After their first close encounter, Blaise figures that serving Keller in such a personal capacity won’t be such a terrible sentence.

Keller dispenses his own forms of painful justice and sensual discipline, which usually involve a not-so-resistant Blaise on his knees bound and determined to give as good as he gets. The privateer can’t deny that suffering the handsome admiral’s punishments makes him burn like the fires of the Horsehead Nebula. Serving in the roles of prisoner and captor defines their ‘relationship’, but no power can stop a shooting star … the star of startling passion that flares every time they touch.

Just when Blaise thinks he can navigate the treacherous asteroid field of emotion to find common ground with Keller, an interstellar war tears them apart. Through it all, Blaise’s desire for his captor stands as tall and strong as the monoliths of Maraven, and he’ll go to the very edge of the galaxy and back if that’s what it takes to crack the ice around the admiral’s heart.

Review: Peter uses his position to use Blaise as he see’s fit which did not sit well with me. Blaise is accused of piracy. Seeing no way out of it he makes a deal with Peter to serve out punishment as he see’s fit.

Peter seemed a bit too aggressive to me. I did not really care for his attitude toward Blaise then all of a sudden he changes his tune.

This story fell flat for me. I wanted to like it but could not due to Peter as I did not care for him as a character at all.

O.k. read.

Blurb: A Hot Cargo Story

When the Starfire is struck by a mysterious and deadly plague, the captain and crew have no choice but to throw themselves on the mercy of the healers of a nearby, uncharted planet. First Officer Ryan Nelson accompanies the sickest patients to the planet’s surface, where he is put under the supervision of Juo-ta-ri, an apprentice to one of the healers who is helping the crew. The two have barely begun to explore the chemistry between them when Ryan’s body betrays him and he falls ill as well. Now it’s a race against time to see if Juo can bring the fever down before Ryan’s hallucinations kill him.

Review: The ship Ryan is on is struck by a deadly plague. They contact an unknown planet and ask for help. The angel beings on the planet agree to help and collect the sick to care for. Juo is a healer and takes Ryan in when he comes along with the sick. The two grow closer together but Ryan comes down with the plague.

While I liked the overall story I was honestly expecting more explanations about the disease and where it comes from plus the actual treatment of the crew but the story focused on Juo and Ryan. It felt more like a regular contemporary story to me.

It was an o.k. read.
