(Christmas Angel 03)
by

Jordan L Hawk

Vaudeville stage magician Christopher Fiend lives for the spotlight. His chance at big time stardom awaits him in Chicago, the next stop on the circuit after the little town of Twelfth Junction.

Edward Smith wants nothing to do with his family’s theater. Until Christopher catches his eye on opening night, then treats him to a very special performance during intermission.

When a dead body turns up in the middle of Christopher’s act, suspicion immediately falls on him. If Christopher and Edward can’t work together to clear his name, Christopher won’t make it to Chicago in time. Edward knows he shouldn’t get attached to a man who will be gone in two days, but his heart—and a very special angel—have other ideas.

The Christmas Angel series of holiday romances follow the travels of an angel ornament through the decades as she inspires (and sometimes nudges) lonely men to find their Happily Ever After. The Magician’s Angel is the third in series, which can be read in any order.

Review: Undercover detective Mitch has an in with a nasty motorcycle club that they want shut down. His ex was mixed up with the club and is best friends with the club president’s little brother. He just hadn’t expected the brother to be who he was.

Finn loved his father and the brother that died, but Rocky was another subject. The man was a cruel asshat that needed taken out. He was his older brother but he was also as evil as one gets. When Rocky gives Finn a driver, he had not expected Mitch. He also hadn’t expected to be attracted to Mitch. An attraction that could get them killed.

I was at odds end with this story. The characters and plot were well developed and had the perfect amount of depth to it. It was much to slow paced for me to get really into and I admit it was a bit dull also. The romance was more secondary to the actual story which to me was not a good sign. It was stationed in Australia, but it didn’t come off that way at all. There seemed to be one or two words that were reflected there, but the rest of the story didn’t give that vibe. I felt like the blurb gave away the story because before I even started reading I knew who was what and what was going to happen, which didn’t go well.

I did like the murder mystery going on, but there was no real mystery at all. You know who is behind it and why, so no mystery. Then there was the way in to the club which was way easier than any club I heard of. I hate to admit this but the story felt off to me.

I think the idea of a ex-boyfriend who is a druggie keeping his mouth shut about his ex who happens to be a detective, is a bit far fetched. There are not many druggies who would keep their mouths shut. So there were some holes in the story. It did catch my attention but didn’t really keep it like it should have.

It is an enjoyable read but I am afraid that it did nothing for me. However I will hold out till book two on whether I will finish the series or drop it.

Review: Enzo and Tony have been attracted t each since they met through Hector. I loved Enzo’s hard working determination to make sure his sister is provided for. Tony’s daughter Ina gives Tony the excuse he needs to see Enzo by wanting to eat at the restaurant that Enzo works in.

The chemistry between these two men is hot. When they get together the sparks fly off the pages. Sweet yet sexy this was a great addition to the series.

Fantastic read.

Kayleigh Sky

Vampires live.

And they hunger…

Otto Jones, a cop assigned to the seemingly random murder of a vampire, would rather hide out in the nearest bar than waste his time on a dead vamp. He hates the bloodthirsty demons. But when the king of the vampires commands him to work with one of the lesser princes and find the killer, he has no choice.

Prince Jessamine Senera is ready to sacrifice his happiness in a loveless marriage for his family’s benefit… but not yet. He dreams of adventure, excitement, and true love. He lives on romance novels and detective stories and wishes he could drink synthetic blood like every other vampire. But he can’t. He needs human blood to survive and is hated by vampires and humans alike.

As Otto and Jessa draw closer to an entity that doesn’t want to be discovered, Otto finds the heart he thought long dead opening to the romance-loving Jessa. No good can possibly come from falling in love with a vampire, but when a shadowy assailant attacks Jessa, Otto will descend into the darkest pit of the earth to rescue him.

If you like vampires, mythical and urban settings, intense suspense, and happy ever after, then you’ll love this first book in the dark and mysterious Ellowyn Found trilogy!

Blurb: Homeland Security investigators Felix Jbarra and Pope Dades are about to work their first big case as partners. Someone is creating counterfeit government documents and selling them through a site similar to the old Silk Road which was shut down years ago. As they dive into the case with the help of their friends at the FBI and LAPD, Felix and Pope realize the Dark Web site is selling more than documents. It’s selling death.

When a man connected with the website turns up murdered, it’s all hands on deck and with so many letter agencies involved in this case, coordinating all parties is bound to be a challenge. When yet another agency unexpectedly gets involved, their bosses would find it laughable if it wasn’t so damned dangerous.

Felix and Pope are getting used to being partners but they are well-trained professionals who must learn to trust each other at work as well as at home. When a bomb almost kills them, they have no choice but to shorten that learning curve. From the mean streets of Hollywood to unfamiliar places on the Dark Net, our heroes put themselves in danger every moment, trying their best to protect innocents while keeping each other alive.

Order and Anarchy contains an exciting excerpt from Crime and Chaos Book 3!.

Review: Felix and Pope are back in this exciting sequel as they with the help of other agencies and friends try and track down the owner of Brokendoor dot com, an online buy site where you can buy anything. The most prominent is counterfeit documents that look real and pass inspections of us customs and law enforcement.

I really liked how well the different agencies worked together. It was nice seeing characters from different series all working together toward a common goal. This series keeps getting better and better with each new book.

Amazing details and investigative work lend a realistic feel to an amazing story. I loved Felix and Pope’s characters. All in all it a breathtaking book with plenty of suspense, action and some funny moments as well hot action between the sheets.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Reviewer: Lisa

Review: Each book in the Stonewall Investigations collection features a new romantic couple. To enjoy the overall story arc and crossover characters, I would recommend reading the series in sequential order.

Liam and Mark have been friends since they were small children. They did everything together and there was a heat there that was unexplored. Then Liam and his family moved away. Many years have passed and they always remembered each other. Liam has been doing pretty good at his job with movies but someone was trying to destroy what he has made. He goes to find help but didn’t expect the one man he never forgot.

Mark was working at the Stonewall Investigations and doing pretty good. Although his personal life is not going so good. His latest boyfriend dumped him and he wasn’t to sure what the hell was going on. Imagine his face when Liam walks in searching for help. It seems that the universe has something in plan for these two. Things are going to heat up real fast.

This story has lots of twists and turns to it. They are trying to find out who is behind the email and thinking that the man behind it has done more than just that. All the while his partner is searching for the killer of young gay men. Now this story not only kept my attention from the moment I started reading but had me on the edge of my seat. There was only one part of this story that I hated, but you will soon figure it out. I loved how the characters were just in step with each other the moment they came back together. Once true friends and now so much more.

The story has an amazing plot that intermingles with the one from the first book. I loved the guys and how they are with each other. This is one story that I would definitely not only read again but would recommend.

Review: A sweet story about overcoming others prejudices about cross breeding with plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader interested in the outcome. Shahin is a bird shifter. Like most shifters he’s been taught he will know his mate when he meets them.

Cai is a human and gets set up on a blind date with Shahin. The two hit it off and make plans to get together again but Shahin’s mother is against the two together as she wants grandchildren.

I really enjoyed the support that Cai had and how both he and Shahin wanted to be together despite protests from others.

The story was written beautifully to capture the intensity of the situation and the tender moments between the MC’s. Great read.

Review: This was a strange yet interesting read. John is suddenly thrust into a weird sense of time as he takes a job that will take a month to complete. All the while there are certain elements that come into play that leave reader wondering what is going on, what is real, what is in the past.

Samuel I could never figure out exactly what he was. The description given did not help much either. So I was at a loss as to what he was. But, I still adored the two of them. It seemed that every time the two came together something or someone was trying to tear them apart.

Loved the details, mystery and characters in this story. So far I have only read two books in this series and neither are connected.

Great read.

They manage to keep their romance under the radar until they are reassigned to a classified mission to retrieve the probes—aboard a ship where they’re clearly not welcome. Reviewer: Lisa

Review: When I saw who the authors were of this story I knew that I had to read it. They write stories that give you a world that has a bit of humor to it even though they have more of a serious tone to them. They also give you sexy men with a lot of depth and detail to them; it feels like you know them. After seeing the cover of the book, I can tell you my eyes went wide and my jaw dropped. What I wouldn’t give to have a man like that.

This is a bit of an oddball story to me, but it was a lot of fun. You get gorgeous men in uniform who are working in outerspace. David and Blake saw each other and knew what they wanted. David is a corporal and Blake was a private, but it didn’t seem to mind with these guys. They are very hot together.

Then while in space one saves the other, and it gets real close for a while there. They came close to death and were going to be in deep trouble with the military. Then more danger surfaced and it was up to them and their friends to keep everyone safe. I must admit that this story is a bit harder to get into and difficult to follow in some parts. The marines have a saying about not leaving any many behind, and these two are definitely backing that saying. I love how protective they are of each other, but that they are still marines.

The story itself is an amazing story but the last few pages seemed a bit forced to me, like they were trying to rush the ending a bit. Other than that, it was a great read. I had fun with it and couldn’t stop reading once I started. I love the author’s gift that they have.

I would definitely recommend this book.

Review: Great story about the differences between populations, mystery and romance. I loved both Daveth and Jory. They both fascinated for different reasons. Daveth’s determination to do better for himself inspired me. Jory’s a mystery that had me from the start. I enjoyed reading about him immensely.

While they are getting to know one another they are both caught up in a mystery that they desperately try to understand. While some of the story had me scratching my head it fit with the overall setting. Nothing is as it seems and trust is something both men need if they are to survive.

Twists and turns are around every corner in this fascinating tale. I truly loved the dynamics as Jory and Daveth fought to keep ahead of the surprises that awaited them. Great cast of characters that added to an already good story.

Review: Felix and Tse were great characters. I loved these two men together. Their strengths and weaknesses added a delightful spin on the story as it progressed. Felix’s past comes back to haunt him and Tse is there to help along the way.

The mystery aspect of the story was well written and intriguing to read as it unfolded. I have enjoyed this series about hunky guys in calendar shoot where things do not go as planned and sometimes dangerous situations arise. It was interesting as how each man handled said situations.

Review: Let me start off by saying usually I am not a fan of using the same MC’s from another book in a separate book because well honestly you learn most all you need to know about them in the first book so the second seems lacking. Not so in this tale as it’s about Lucas and the gang, wedding plans and a visit to Snow and Lucas’ hometown.

There were times I wanted to get to the good stuff, action, and there were others were I wanted to know more about what was going on. But all in all it was a decent read with a fair amount of drama, action and love for all to keep reading.

Facing their pasts was hard for both Snow and Lucas who left many years before and found a new family for themselves. I loved the struggles portrayed as well as realizing the past can not hurt you unless you let it. Andreas jealousy was a thing of beauty for Lucas. There was quite a bit of characters who added to the story as it progressed.

All in all it was great read and addition to the series.

Review:  I have read two complete series by this author and have loved each one of them, so it wasn’t a far stretch that this would be any different.  It is not part of a series but a standalone story.  At first it is a bit misleading; what with finding out some of the information half way though the story so I was a bit miffed with that.  However the mystery soon moves into something a bit darker then I normally read.

At first I must admit that I was thinking paranormal type story, but it definitely was not.  Which was a plus for me.  Although I do love paranormals, mermaids were never one of my favorites.  They always gave me the creeps.

So what you get here is a complete mystery with a lot of twists and turns to keep you guessing.  I felt bad for the young man in the end, but damn it was good.  It is not as action packed as I had expected though.  I was also not really into the supporting characters as I should have been I suppose.  The girl comes off as a waste but she soon picks up in the story.  And here I thought Ricky really went there for the job, the blurb definitely doesn’t let you know.  I felt a bit let down on that part and the fact that you don’t find it out till the book is halfway done.

Ricky was trying his hardest to save money to go to college.  He had decided to go away from home to do so, but there is a hidden reason behind it all.  Zack had gone there during the summer to work and within a short time there ended up in a world that was dark and nasty.  He turned up missing and Ricky wanted to find out why and how.  That is if it doesn’t get him killed as well.

Now I am not a fan of having the readers think this is a romance, because it is not.  It is just a dark mystery surrounding another, who just happens to be the main guy’s boyfriend.  It starts off with a description of the place and let’s just say that I would never visit there, not even if someone paid me to do so.  It is a very fascinating story that will have you on the edge of your seat throughout it all.

Now the story is very good and the writing was perfect, however it was just a bit too dark for my taste.  I figure it is definitely not a story to read before going to bed, that is if you dream of what you read.

I am afraid that even though I connected with the story and Ricky, the story was just not for me.  However I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Review: Years after a vicious beating by his ex partner on the force Detective Dade Pope is doing all he can to take down the bad guys. With hardly any support from the LAPD that is easier said than done. One night he meets sexy Homeland Security Investigator Felix Jbarra who is undercover at the time during an arrest. After said arrest Dades world is turned upside down when he’s threatened with arrest among other things. Felix on the other hand knows he’s innocent.

I loved this story. Two law enforcement officers one veteran, one new, one faces bigotry everyday on the job by his ex partner, the other has a partner who seems for all intense and purposes to be there for him. These two couldn’t be any different than night and day yet they worked well together in the field.

Hot sexy scenes, a lot of loving and suspense keep you on the rollercoaster of mystery while they try to solve a child trafficking case. Great cast of characters old and new show up in this awesome story.

I am looking forward to reading more about these two as well as the others and to see if Preston Redding ever gets whats coming to him.

Fantastic read and highly recommended.

Review:  I never thought that I would be a fan of this type of book but then again in this story they really are not what one would expected.  They are infected and changed, even those who are born infected such as our sexy private detective.  He is different from all the others.

I was impressed with the fact that it was one of those stories that you just couldn’t put down till you finished the story. Although I have to say that the first part dragged on for way to long.  I think if it didn’t have all the added stuff to it; it would have gone way above what it ended up being for me.

I love the fact that it doesn’t follow the normal stereotype of paranormal.  In this story it means that a shifter can turn into their big cat just like a werewolf does, during the cycle of the moon.  It can be spread just like sexual diseases, through blood and semen so it is easy to become infected.  Just like many infections you could change or you could die.  It really just depends on how strong you are, and if you are younger then you have more of a chance to survive.  I love the world this author created for her readers and damn the guys are hot.

Roan is an ex-cop now private detective who tries to solve the crimes involving other infected.  He was born an infected and changed into a big ass lion. Roan is so different from the others; in the fact that he is not ill nor is he disfigured like so many others.  He is a bit snarky and can be a pain in the ass, where as the man he has fallen in love with is the opposite of him.

Paris is a tiger shifter and he is a people person.  It is what got him infected in the first place.  He is gorgeous and a bit stuck into himself or should I say vain.  Now while we have the two love birds, we also get several different mysteries going on.  From missing people to find to a very crazy group of religious nuts jobs, a cat that is on the loose and needs to be put down in my mind, to a group that hates those infected and lots of trouble in between.

Now like I said this story starts off very slow and almost cause me to put the book down with disinterest, it slowly built into a pretty awesome story.  I wasn’t too sure about the fact that the author put so much into this story but it turned out that it worked.  The complexity of the characters and what was going on kept my attention longer than I thought it would.  I loved the little twists that I found in it also.

I loved the romance our two sexy guys have going on and can’t wait to hear more about them in the future. I didn’t much care for the clichés that were in this story, nor the gay remarks that were throughout it but what can I say there is always something that you will find in all stories that you won’t much like.  It doesn’t take away from the book at all though, so it was all good.  I enjoyed reading it, but can admit that it won’t be one of those series that I read back to back.  I also can’t see myself reading it more than once, but it is very interesting.  It is just way too long for me to want to even read it twice, once is good enough for me.

Other than my little issues, this is one story that I would definitely recommend.

But a call from dispatch about a fight at a doctor’s office brings a very interesting, opinionated man into Ilias’ life. He isn’t sure if Doctor Torres is flirting or not, but Ilias wants to find out—if he can get past his own fears and escape someone who wants Ilias for themselves.

Review: Illias and his boyfriend Terry are part of the calendar shoot when Illias discovers Terry is only with him for his connections. Needless to say Illias and terry part ways. During a call to a doctor’s office Illias meets Dr. Torres and the sparks fly. But Illias is unsure due to the relationship he just got out of.

I loved that Torres was patient and caring with Illias considering his fears. The two seemed made for each other in all ways. Another great addition to the calendar men series.

Fantastic read.
