Review: This is a good collection of short sips. I really liked this collection and the title is fitting. The stories are written in a befitting style for the subject. Rough stock rodeo riders. Each story is very short. Very concise and pretty erotic.

I liked that the characters were not pretty boy cowboys. I loved Sam’s description of Beau. He has short legs, a barrel chest, crooked teeth and a hot butt (he didn’t say but in the book.) As a matter of fact the language is pretty rough too, but fitting for the characters. I liked that Beau is Cajun as were some of the other characters and his slang was used a lot. The nicknames Sam and Beau used made me chuckle… I also liked that some of the stories were about rodeo clowns and not just the riders.

I would have liked a bit more information though as to who all these men were and how they were connected. In the first story, several names were mentioned then the other stories featured some of these men.

I think this is a good book if you’re looking for something short to read. Each story can be read in a few minutes. I like having stories like this around for times I need something quick for the treadmill, filling time between appointments etc.

If you are looking for a book with short stories, hot cowboys, sexy Cajuns, rodeo clowns, bull riders, and you like rough language, and hot mansex this is for you!

But when things fall apart and Quinn discovers Luc’s secret, will he be able to convince Quinn that nothing is more important to him than loving his cowboy?

Review: Luc Walker has lived his life trying to convince everyone he is not this entitled rich kid that everyone thinks he is, as soon as they hear his last name. He works for his father, yes, but he works hard at his father’s insistence. So when he meets the sexy cowboy that has come to his dad’s office to do some business, he’s immediately taken with the big man and sets out to see if the attraction could be mutual.

The two share a very passionate night and Luc is ready to walk away and chalk it up to a one nighter, but Quinn convinces him they should get to know each other and give each other a chance. But, as the threat of Quinn finding out who Luc really is looms closer, Luc breaks off all contact for fear that it’s inevitable anyways. Luc finds himself desperate to do anything to convince Quinn to give him another chance when his worst fear is realized.

These two guys are about to learn that an intense, immediate attraction and smoking hot sex aren’t the only elements of a relationship they need to master in order to be together. Definitely short and steamy, and I’m not sure that a lack of communication is the issue because Luc just flat out doesn’t tell Quinn who is. First Quinn has to get past that, which builds a trust issue from the start. The story itself is really well written though. Buffett lengthens the time frame of the story by mentioning the passing of time here and there, so the reader knows that these two have actually known each other a while, not just the 30 something pages we are reading. There were a few hiccups in the story and it didn’t flow quite as well as I like, but overall, it was a pretty sexy read that will eat up your lunch hour and allow you to skip all those extra calories while reading!

Blurb: This is book five in the Mossy Glenn Ranch series. See the full series listing here https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=mossy+glenn+series

Jody Bates just wanted to fit in and forget his past, but you can’t escape everything.
Jody Bates had a hard life as a kid, but he’s moved past that and is making a home for himself at the Mossy Glenn. Sometimes he smarts off, but he’s young, and he’s learning.

What he hasn’t learned yet is that you can never completely escape your past.

Jody has a few blank spots, things he can’t quite remember. Like many kids, he did some stupid things and figures he’s lucky to have come out relatively unscathed. Sure, there’s a scar here and there, but on the whole, he’s doing just fine.

But something that happened brings about an enormous change in his life. Jody finds himself with a kid he didn’t know he’d fathered, and memories trying to surface about the drug-filled night the child had to have been conceived. Jody, at twenty, is overwhelmed and more scared than he’s ever been in his life.

Noel Cuthbert needed a change. He was tired of the bar scene, tired of being dumped. He seemed to have a six-month expiration date per relationship. The last guy almost broke him in many ways, and moving across the country had sounded like a brilliant idea when he’d first thought of it.

Now he’s in Ashville, Montana, and his Aunt Gertie is doing everything she can to talk him into staying. She needs his help, and Noel needs to be needed.

And he’s never seen anyone who needs him more than the young man who walks into Gertie’s day care with a screaming baby on his hip.

Reader Advisory: This book contains reference to rape.

Review: This is book five in this series. I think it stands alone pretty well though you may be curious as to some of the other characters.

This book is about Jody. Jody has been working at the Mossy Glenn for a little while. He had recently come out and he and Frankie had been fooling around when Jody’s sister had dropped of an almost three-year-old child telling him it was his and that he was still dead to his family. Of course, the bosses of the ranch Carlos, Troy and Will were very acceptable and helpful. Jody meets Noel at the day care he chooses for Prissy and they become friends quickly.

For those of you not familiar with this series it centers on the Mossy Glenn ranch, a very gay friendly ranch. Each book features a different character and has several of the previous ones and ongoing ones interact in each book. You may wonder how a series has different takes on gay cowboys, keeps it pretty sweet, very hot and sexy yet, fresh and interesting each time, but Bailey Bradford is a master at it. Each book is very different though keeping to her style.

I really liked Noel. He isn’t the cowboy but a love interest and also a vegetarian. I absolutely adored Prissy and the baby talk added even more charm to an already charming series. I do have one complaint. The action or conflict that was Noels was resolved in a wham, bam, thank you ma’am style. It built up slow then all of a sudden, it was resolved. I’d have liked a bit more intrigue or it not felt so easy. Just my personal opinion, it didn’t ruin the story for me. I was left with several unanswered questions (sorry I can’t say what without spoilers) I am hoping they will be answered in the next book.

If you like sweet, sexy stories, featuring hot gay cowboys, cute babies, a bit of drama, lots of charm and some hot mansex this is definitely for you!

Review: These One Night Stand books are fast fun and sexy reads. They center on people (mostly wealthy ones who can afford this service) that contact Madame Eve for a one-night stand.

Dustin is a rodeo star getting close to retiring and trying to decide what to do with his life afterwards. He had a stint on a reality show where he had met a handsome Frenchman and had a short affair with him that deep down he wishes he had more time with the man. He has no time in his schedule for relationships and has an itch that needed scratched so he called up the Madame for one of her infamous One Night Stands.

Tony is a rich Polo player/ model, he found that he couldn’t get the rugged cowboy he had the affair with out of his mind. He knew what he wanted but it had slipped through his fingers so he called up Madame Eve for a One Night Stand.

Sounds intriguing huh? It is. I liked both men. The story is a bit easy to predict but sometimes those are just what you need. A fast, exciting, sexy read. This definitely feels that need. I would have liked more about their past affair but this is a very short story and I did get enough backstory to understand the story. I will say id love this in a full book.

If you like, underwear models, rich men, rodeo stars, hot mansex, short, fast paced stories and a satisfying ending this is for you. Did I mention the hot cowboy?

Blurb: Sequel to The Trouble with Angel

Hot-tempered Angel and sexy, easy-going Brandon are pretty happy. Brandon’s baseball career is over, Angel’s no longer missing LA, and the guys are living in a vintage house in southern Oregon. Well, Angel thinks the house is just damned old.

Marisa and Trey have adjusted to the men as substitute parents, and Angel and Brandon have figured out how to have regular sex even with kids in the house. Angel even loves his marketing job at the winery.

But when Brandon gets an offer of a new job back in California, is their new life going to fall apart? Tough and scrappy Angel is afraid that their hot sex life and the family they’ve built won’t be enough to keep Brandon in the confoundedly cold Pacific Northwest. And being afraid pisses him off.

Brandon’s really keen on the job, and not at all keen on the cold. Will hot and sunny California call Brandon home again?

Review: This is a sequel to The Trouble with Angel. I have not read the first book and this book was easy to follow and interesting. There is enough backstory dropped skilfully throughout the story to make it work on its own. I will admit I am intrigued with Angel and Brandon and definitely will be reading the first book to see how they met and acquired the children.

This story takes place 2 or 3 years after the first book. They are living in Oregon in an old remodeled farmhouse. I have to say from the way Angel and Brandon both feel about the house or the cold, why they chose this place (another good reason I want to read book one.) Brandon has been offered a job back in California as a sports announcer having his own show. It’s a once in a lifetime job. Brandon is stalling on telling Angel and the kids. When Angel finds out Brandon is holding secrets back and what the secret is, he jumps to wrong conclusions and takes the news hard. Will the job come between Angel and Brandon? What about the kids? Is Angel or Brandon finding fatherhood too stressful to continue? I highly suggest you buy the books to see.

I love the contrast between Angel and Brandon. Brandon is an ex-ball player, cool and collected, and laid back. Angel is hot-headed, smart, likes his new job at the winery, fun-loving, and high maintenance. They are definitely each other’s Yin to the others Yang. I liked that the story was filled with conflict, yet still sweet and loving. It’s a very good story with great characters.

I highly recommend this if you like sweet romantic stories, sexy ball players, architects, foster children, wineries, conflict of interest, a touch of humor, and of course hot, sexy mansex that isn’t over explicit.

Review: Garret is nearing retirement age for a bull rider and trying to win as many circuits as he can so he can retire, but the draw of the adrenaline and cheer from the crowds is hard to want to let go. He longs to find a man to love and settle down but doesn’t see finding one in the rodeo circuit. He meets Cole and has to have him, but will one night be enough? Then all hell breaks loose. What hell?

I love a good story of cowboys, and I really like different characters such as multicultural or different races. I loved that Garret was a black cowboy and that he faced a lot being a rodeo rider being both black and gay.

The story has a lot of mystery and it starts out quickly. I found the mystery interesting but when all is said and done, I was left with so many unanswered questions, even though the story had a fairly good ending. I will look for the next book to see what happens.

If you like rodeos, cowboys, mystery, and some hot ManSex this is for you.

Review: Graham and Jackson have been friends since childhood, though for Graham it has been much more than just friendship. They both ride the rodeo circuit and have been rodeo partners for years. One night at regionals both men were drinking heavily, they were drunk, lonely and horny and both acted on a mutual attraction. Ever since that night a year ago their relationship has been strained.

Graham is sure he is gay but every-time the action gets past kissing he panics and runs. Until one night he has a run in with one of the animal rights protestors. Kaz is young, sexy and outspoken. Kaz and Graham have a personal run in and Graham finds himself intrigued by young Kaz.

I have to say after reading the excerpt at the beginning of the book I was definitely Roped.*giggles at the pun* I can’t really say much more than I have above without spoilers. The story is character driven and I have to say I loved both Kaz and Graham.

The story is a good case of opposites attract. Two men couldn’t be much different than these two. I am a big fan of both L.A Witt and Marie Sexton. I loved how they showed the attraction immediately upon meeting with short sentences that just seem to pop. As they were describing Kaz from Graham’s view in a confrontation at a Rodeo where Kaz is protesting, after the short effective description; Graham thought…And cute. Those two words were powerful. They seemed to set the stage. It was a cue that for more to come. And boy was there more to come!

As I said, the excerpt in the beginning of the book roped me in, the powerful writing kept me tied to the story.  I wasn’t able to stop once I started and the ending left me wanting more! For those of you who like to know ahead of time, I will say it was a happy for now ending. It’s not a cliff hanger; the story was beautifully resolved in a way that for me hinted that there could be much more to come. Yes, I am seriously hoping this is the beginning of a series, because I want more on Kaz and Graham and Jackson too.

For those of you wondering about the mild BDSM, it is mild, but let me tell you it’s hot and sexy. If you like a story with some hot sex, a little rope play but no real D’s or spanking, a sweet story that is also hot but not overly descriptive, A story with some twists and turns, Vegans, Animal rights Activists, and of course Cowboys, this is for you.

I highly recommend this for those of you that have been wanting to try a Male/Male romance, or like a sweet MM romance and wanted to sample a bit of the BDSM genre. This story is a good starter!

Review: Short, Sexy and Steamy… very Steamy. I’m going to contact Crayola and see if they can make me a box of SSS crayons, they are my favourite colors!

Everett Davis has been hired on by the XYZ ranch as a farrier. At forty years old he is starting a new phase in his life after catching his wife of over twenty years in bed with his best friend. The relationship was never the kind it should have been, given Everett’s thoughts about other men, but he never expected this type of betrayal. His daughters are away at college so he submits to the divorce, packs up and moves to the ranch.

Kyle Quinten is smitten with Everett the moment he lays eyes on him. But Zander has already warned him that Everett is straight. There is something that flashes in Everett’s eyes though that Kyle catches, want and need. He takes a chance one day on a ride and kisses Everett. But Everett is concerned not only about acting on his hidden desires, but about the age difference between himself and the young Ranch hand. Kyle will not be deterred though, he sets to seduce Everett and boy does he ever. Right out in the open on Everett’s bunk house porch!

The relationship is not without its speed bumps and road blocks though. Everett is still worried about the age difference and how his daughters will react when they learn that their father is gay. Kyle is unwavering throughout, standing by his side, allowing him those moments he needs to think and teaching him the joys of gay sex along the way.

This is my favourite instalment in the XYZ stories thus far. There is a lot of meat in this story with the past and family issues Everett brings to the table. And Hennessee visited all those issues. I as well loved the descriptive and the scene she set at the camp out for Everett’s first time as a bottom. It was honest and magical.

This is a must read series for anyone that loves a man who doesn’t mind wearing Wranglers, but would rather they be on the floor on the side of the bed while he mounts his wrangler!

Blurb: Aspiring orchestra conductor Marshall is exhausted after months of auditions without a single job offer. Marshall’s friend, Terry, recommends a change of scenery and points Marshall in the direction of a dude ranch run by former bull rider Indigo Santana. Marshall is understandably skeptical, but his friend is convincing, and Marshall needs a break, so he agrees to go.

Indigo captures Marshall’s attention but leaves him confused. Indigo’s confidence is shot after an injury ended his rodeo career, and he walks with a slight limp. He hasn’t been anywhere near a bull since he was hurt, and he’s not the most accommodating host. After all, the only reason he keeps guests is because his family ranch is all but bankrupt.

Marshall’s attraction doesn’t go unanswered, which leaves him with a huge dilemma. He’s torn between the possibility of love, something he’s searched for all his life, and the career he’s worked toward for as long as he can remember, which is miles away. From his side of the fence, Indigo doesn’t see how the ranch could ever be enough.

Review: Marshall is just going through the motions in his life, not truly committed to anything, although he wants to be. He is a trained Orchestra Conductor, but audition after audition yields the same results, thank you but no. A recently ended long-term relationship left him in a bad way, as well. He is seriously just burn out and at the verge. His best friend Terry finally convinces him that he needs a vacation and sends him off to a Ranch he’s recently heard good things about.
Indigo is a former bull rider that had to give up his dreams after an injury. He now runs a pretty successful Dude Ranch that is adjacent to Dante and Ryan’s place. {Fans of the series will remember Dante and Ryan from ‘A Wild Ride’, book one in this series.} While Indigo runs his ranch, renting out rooms and offering trail rides and such, Dante helps him out if needed by offering up his mechanical bull for Indigo’s guests. When Marshall shows up on the ranch exhausted but enamoured with his surroundings, Indigo can’t help but take notice of the beautiful man.
The two men are polar opposites, but they still manage to fall fast and hard for each other. Marshall sees something so lyrical in everything about Indigo. Whether it is his movements, his voice, a sexy moan or a deliberate groan. And Indigo sees the independence and exuberance that simmers beneath the surface anytime he’s with Marshall. Love at first sight doesn’t even begin to describe these two. But is a passionate love for each other enough to give up something that either of them has worked toward for as long as they can remember?
I really liked the musicality in this story. Marshall’s life is music, he’s a Conductor, and so he translates the most mundane of movements and words into a song. And Indigo is his grand masterpiece. The rough and rugged cowboy that is most comfortable riding horseback under the stars, coupled with the gentle conductor that takes his violin on vacation was the perfect blend of delicate and passionate heat. Ah but then there is a scratch in the vinyl. Marshall’s ex no longer wants to be an ex, and one of those tryouts finally calls back. When given a choice between his dreams and the possibility of a life and love on the ranch with Indigo, what will he choose?
What I adore about Andrew Grey and look forward to with every new read is his ability to show vulnerability in his characters. The writing is always steady and the storylines flow like water. Of course, sometimes there is the rise and fall, like a wave.
Do I recommend this book? Two words… one click! And while this is the third book in a series, and I always recommend reading series in order, this book does have legs to stand on its own.

Rules are made to be broken. Cowboy rules are made to be shattered.

Although ex-con, Cash Wiley, loves working at the Rocking W, being around Shane Ackerman and Dub Walker is the favorite part of his job. He’d had the chance to be with the two men a few months earlier, but he’d blown it before it could happen. He’d ruined everything because he’d refused to have sex without strings attached.

Stupid didn’t begin to define how he’d felt the following day or every day afterward. Shane took his breath away and Dub was the kind of man Cash had always dreamed of having at his side. It was the rule that stood in his way.

How could he promise to not fall in love when he already had?

Review: I love anything cowboys and Carol Lynne is a master at hot, sexy cowboys. This story picks up after Cash had turned down the offer to join Shane and Dub in a threesome. He didn’t like Dub’s rule that it was no strings attached.  He wanted more, especially from Shane. Shane Loves Dub and always has, but he can’t help how much he wants Cash.  Dub loves Shane and is happy with him, but he has always needed more than one man and he is aware that Shane needs more than just him; however, e has a fear that if he isn’t careful Shane will leave him for another man. So anyone that plays in their bed has to stick to the rule.

I liked this story but it is a pretty basic ménage story. This one did focus a lot on the lure of the three and wasn’t rushed into the ménage, I did like that.  The actual sex was fairly hot.  The emotional part was nice and deep and we did get all three men’s feelings. I did like that also.

If you like cowboys, ménage, horses, Barbecues, and hot man-sex this is for you!

Warren Reynolds has never been one for commitment, and the idea of settling with one partner isn’t something he’s ever wanted. When Zander Wesley steps into his world and offers him a lucrative deal, everything in his life begins to go haywire.

Jesse Martin, a shy cowboy with a crush on Warren makes a bold move at the bar, capturing Warren’s attention. The two share a night they will never forget. Old habits are hard to break, and before Warren realizes the implications of sneaking out during the night, his feet continue forward even though his heart directs him to do the opposite. His mistake haunts him daily, as well as the image of the man he seemed to connect with.

When Warren decides to visit the XYZ Ranch, he runs into Jesse. All he wants is one more chance, but Jesse isn’t sure. He is still hurting. Can Warren prove himself and win Jesse’s affection?

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/warrens-story

Review: Warren Reynolds is not the type to settle down. He is a love ‘em and leave ‘em kind of guy. He makes no secret about his sexuality blowing through every available gay man he can find on the rodeo circuit. Until he meets Jesse Martin. The two share a wildly sexy night together full of passion and intimacy. But Warren does what he does best and sneaks off while Jesse sleeps.

Jesse Martin has lusted after Warren from afar for years. So when his bosses Zander, John and Dean head to the latest rodeo in hopes of snagging Warren for the XYZ ranch they bring Jesse along as their secret weapon. They couldn’t have known how devastating it would be for both men. Jesse is hurt and heartbroken after waking up alone. Warren is living in a fog and a haze, unable to forget about that night or that man. The one man who got under his skin, the one man he doesn’t think he’ll be able to walk away from.

When Warren shows up at the ranch, he is shocked to find Jesse works there. He decides he has been given a second chance and will stop at nothing to claim Jesse for his own. But Jesse is still hurt and rebuffs all Warren’s advances. Can Jesse get over the hurt that is still fresh from Jesse running off in the middle of the night? And if he can, will Warren stick around or just duck and run as usual.

I am loving this world Andrews is building at the XYZ ranch and the gay rodeo. The way the characters play off each other with strengths and weakness’ that compliment their partner is an intriguing aspect. Again though there was a moment or scene of unrealistic proportions that had me scratching my head toward the end. Overall Andrews is building this world at the ranch with a series of novellas that is both cohesive and realistic, and sexy as hell.

Cowboy love, get you some!

Blurb: Zander Wesley feels cursed by his sexuality. While he wouldn’t change it, he is having difficulty coping and finding his place in the world. His family exiled him from their lives years ago, but the pain of rejection still haunts him as well as the memory of the beating he suffered at his father’s hand.

At thirty-two, Zander wants more than a life on the road and working for someone else during the winter. He has saved for a ranch, and all he needs to do is find it.

When Zander runs into Dean Buchanan and John Acker, desire he has held for the two heightens to a new level. He believed the men were straight, but a rendezvous with Dean in his horse trailer proves him wrong. Dean admits his feelings and expresses his want for more than just a fling. The only problem is John. Can he overcome his jealousy and succumb to his desire for Zander?

Note: This book contains double anal penetration.

Purchase Link: http://www.bookstrand.com/zanders-story

Review: Short, Sexy and Steamy…. My three favourite colors!

Zander Wesley longs for something more than the life he leads on the rodeo circuit. He saves his winnings in hopes of some day buying a ranch, and is on the search for someone to share that life with. He’s long thought of his homosexuality as a negative after a serious beating at the hands of his father when he caught Zander and his high school boyfriend making out. He meets Dean and John one night at a bar and definitely likes what he sees, but he ignores the feelings of desire he has for both men thinking they are straight. Little does he know that not only are they very much gay, but the attraction goes both ways, or three ways in this case.

Dean Buchanan and John Acker have been together for several years, but there is something missing. Something 6’4 with dark hair, smoldering eyes and a domineering attitude. Dean is a natural submissive. Zander an obvious dominate, so where does that leave John? Somewhere in the middle if Zander and Dean have their way. The three share a smoking hot night, but where do they go from there? Zander finds the perfect ranch to start his dream, but that dream has morphed into something more as of late. Something he wants to include John and Dean is. Now he just has to convince them that they can make it work if they can work together as a team and partners, in every sense of the word.

The way these three balance each other out is sort of… perfect. Someone has to be in charge, only one can lead, even when taking his partners into consideration. But in order for Zander to take the lead, John has to relinquish some control. And Dean is just sitting back and enjoying the ride, literally! I love the way the characters play off each other in these books, the author works well with each individual’s strengths and weakness’. The sex is off the friggin charts fantastic! But I have to take points off for that ridiculous display of emotion in the kitchen toward the end. It was like a road bump in the story, I was able to push through though, and I’m glad I did.

This is a must read series for anyone that likes sexy cowboys, ménage and strong-willed characters that can learn how to be flexible.

Blurb: Macon Sumner loves two things in the world. One is taboo, his best friend Wade Sutherland. His second love is the rodeo, where their problems begin. When a nosy reporter clicks a picture at the rodeo, capturing Wade and Macon kissing, life is never the same and neither are their relationships with their family and peers. As outcasts in their small, narrow-minded town, Wade and Macon feel the effects daily. Wade becomes secretive with their relationship, foolishly believing that hiding is the answer. What he doesn’t realize is how much harm he is inflicting on Macon by doing so. Sneaking away for intimate moments with Wade are as hurtful as the glares Macon receives from people who are supposed to be neighbors, friends. Even roping buddies have stopped inviting them to functions. He can’t stand how he feels or how Wade is treating him. When he receives a call from Zander Wesley, he sees a new life and opportunity for him and Wade. Note: This book is written in one point of view.

Note: This book was previously available as a free read on Goodreads under the title Rough in the Saddle. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

NOTE: this book is free at time of posting.

Review: Macon Sumner and Wade Sutherland have been best friends since they were children, and lovers since they were teenagers. Outed by an overzealous reporter, they are no longer in hiding per say, but Wade still has his hand stuck in the closet door. Wade’s father does not understand nor does he approve, and he is very vocal about it.

There are only two things that Macon wants to do, Wade and Rodeo, and in that order. As much as he loves Wade, he’s tired of hiding who they are and what they mean to each other. The opportunity presents itself to them to join a Gay rodeo team so they go spend a couple of weeks practicing and roping together again. They get to spend every day and night together and are allowed the freedom to be open with their relationship. But Wade has spent so much time and effort hiding who he is, and he continues to shy away from being openly affectionate with Macon. When Zander offers them a place at the Ranch and with his rodeo team, will Wade embrace it or run away and continue to hide.

Wranglers, Ropers, Rodeos and Cowboys! A short, fast read about two lifelong friends that become lovers, and their struggle with coming out to their friends and families. I loved the best friends turned lover’s aspect of the story, but the title confused me. It’s supposed to be Macon’s story, but it’s told from Wade’s POV. And Wade aggravated the piss out of me with his I love you, as long as no one is looking.

Overall, I thought this was just a fun, tender love story and while there were a few bumps in the road, I would read more from this author.

Review:  Flynn Tomlinson is a young free spirit that makes a living working odd jobs that he finds wherever his feet take him. He has no home to speak of as his family turned their back on him when they learned he was gay. The only true lover he’s ever had died, leaving him alone again. When he answers a help wanted ad that takes him to the ranch of Gable Sutton, he has no idea this one job will turn his life upside down.

Gable Sutton is an aged and crippled ranch owner. He’s standoffish, a loner and quite bitter. His former ranch hand slash lover left him after a fight, and Gabe’s reaction to this left him permanently injured. There really is a beautiful soul hiding underneath all that bravado, the question is… is there someone out there that can love him enough to see beneath it.

Flynn accepts the job on Gabe’s ranch, knowing full well he won’t be paid until they can sell some horses. The attraction is mutual and almost immediately, these two are putting the barn to good use! But there is something missing. Gabe is very attractive and he definitely gets Flynn’s blood boiling, but the sex is almost clinical, and Flynn wants more. When an accident leaves Gabe in intensive care, he will learn the true meaning of love. Gabe stands by him through it all from start to finish, including his horrendous mood swings in the aftermath of another accident. Can they save their rocky romance AND Gable’s ranch?

There is a lot of push and pull in this book. It’s an emotionally intense read. Flynn’s love for Gable is blinding and unwavering, to a fault. From the get go his attraction to Gable will leave you unsettled. Because you, the reader, can see just how bitter and jaded Gable is so you don’t think it can possibly end well for Flynn. And when Gable goes kind of bat shit crazy after his second accident, it seems as if the writing is on the wall. But like I said, blinding and unwavering, he will love his brooding older man into submission if it’s the last thing he does!

Narrated by Paul Morey! We all know I just LOVE Paul Morey!! He captured the innocence of Flynn as well as the bitter undertones for Gable, perfectly. The written work was a solid 3.5 for me, but Morey knocked it up a notch. Owens has created such an adverse group of friends and lovers with this new series. I can’t wait to read more. I have high hopes for Hunter and Grant!! Must read for all those cowboys and cowgirls out there, and it really is a beautiful love story that isn’t full of fluff. These guys have to work for it, and it’s SO worth it in the end!

Sam adores the sexy young cowboy with the dreamy blue eyes. He fantasizes about him at night, but that’s as far as it can go or he risks losing everything. Can Ryan win his first NFR buckle and Sam’s heart? Will Sam sacrifice his reputation for love? One thing is for sure, whatever the outcome, it isn’t going to be an easy ride for either of them.

Review: Ryan is on his way to stardom in the rodeo circuit. He is gay and doesn’t like hiding it but his agent Frank makes sure he does. Being gay in the big-time rodeo won’t get him the sponsors he needs. He is close to winning the big purse so he is doing what he is told.  He has a chance to meet his biggest idol, Sam, and will be competing against him in the nationals, that is if he makes it.  Ryan would like to do more than compete against Sam, but Sam has been married and is straight. Or does Sam have some of the same secrets Ryan has?

This was a good story. It was rather predictable though. It is a good build-up of a series.  A basic guy has crush meets guy, conflict, happy ending.  I liked the characters a lot. Ryan is a cocky young man with big dreams. Sam is settled in his life and tired of hiding, wanting to have his ranch, and a lover.  Both men have big dreams and the guts to go for them.  The storyline is interesting and I will definitely be reading anymore in the series.

If you like, rodeos, cowboys, dreamers, and a happy ending this is for you.

“The Bar Next Door, Book 2”
Five years ago, Eli held the hand of his dying lover and made a promise he never intended to keep. Find someone new to love? Be happy? Fat chance. Eli s happiness died that day. He s doing well to put one foot in front of the other, much less risk his heart again.

The only thorn in his side is Asa, part-time waiter at The Bar Next Door, who can’t seem to take a hint.

After years of carrying more responsibility on his broad, cowboy shoulders than most people twice his age, Asa knows what he wants when he sees it. Eli. Shadows haunt the gorgeous older bartender, who also happens to be one of Asa’s bosses, but Asa doesn’t t care about potential complications. He only wants to banish Eli s ghosts and bring Eli back to life.

Persistence, a little impatience, and Asa’s very wicked mouth goes to work on Eli’s grumpy, prickly defenses. But Asa may have to block the door to love with his foot or his heart before Eli slams it in his face.

Warning: Beware of stubborn cowboys, sticky bar floors and hot sexy showers, eavesdropping cooks and well-meaning friends, Irish whiskey, and a young man who doesn’t t understand the word no.

Review: This is book two of the Bar Next Door series. I did feel this one stands alone pretty well.

Eli is still pining over the death of his lover and does not intend to keep the promise he made on Thad’s deathbed, to find someone else to love. He can’t imagine loving anyone else, until the cute new waiter Asa showed up.

I really liked this story much better than the first, though  I would have liked more on the first lover and the death but we did get enough here in tidbits to get the feel of the situation.  This story has a lot of sadness and I will say I nearly cried a couple of times.  I love stories that make me cry! I absolutely loved Eli and Asa. We also get a little more on Abe the cook and we did get some more of Danny and Mal and even their fathers. This was a sweet, sad, but very good story.

If you like, cowboys, college students, Bartenders, sad stories, happy endings, sweet loving ManSex and sticky floors this one is for you!

Review: I’m going to admit I read the first chapter after finishing the first book My Cowboy Heart.  I was hooked from the get go. I was also in shock when I saw who the book was about. Very pleasantly shocked since I had  thought I caught  hints  from Eddie and I will say  when Eddie took Jimmy to detox him, I thought to myself  how much I’d like to see what went on there. As if the author read my mind, here it was. Jimmy and Eddie’s story.  I was ecstatic. You do not have to read the first book to enjoy this one. I do suggest you do since it was awesome too and once you read the excerpt in the back I’m sure you will rush to get it.

A quick rundown: Jimmy has been having some issues and Eddie has taken it upon himself to dry Jimmy out.  Jimmy had always been a heavy drinker, but lately as things changed around the Jbar he had gotten worse and the timing was terrible.

The story started out with a bang. Literally. The first line had me.  And dam was it hot… and made me have a few questions about Jimmy. I love the first person view and that it’s from Jimmy as he goes through his forced detox.  The story is very well written with lots of heart, emotion and a touch of humour. When Eddie’s friend is introduced, I have to say my heart plummeted. I was like oh no, not another one of those ménages.  Well it wasn’t.  This was like no rollercoaster ride.  Not a lot of ups and downs, just curve after curve. I promise you it’s not predictable.  At least for me it wasn’t. Sure, there were a few things I saw coming but I wanted them to come and at times, it was snapped out of my grasp.  Did I get the ending I wanted?  I’m not gonna tell you. You will have to get the book and see for yourself!

I highly recommend this book if you like cowboys, older characters, men with problems, alcoholics, threesomes, hot mansex and a very good heartfelt story with lots of action, emotion and humour. Did I mention the hot mansex and cowboys?

Review: I absolutely loved this story. It was funny as hell, kept my laughing throughout it. I really wished it were longer though. I wanted to hear more about Wilder and Locke. To hear if they reconnect in New York.

Wilder and Locke met in a little bar and hit it off. One security expert and a country boy rocked the sheets for one hot night full of sex. They have the strengths and weaknesses that balance together and it makes you want them more each time you read it.

It is a really cute story. The only problem I had with it was that it left me hanging. It did keep my attention from start to end. If you want a really cute story that is a fast read, this would be the one to pick…

Blurb:A cowboy’s heart has room for anything…

J-Bar ranch foreman Malloy pretty much keeps to himself—slinking around the edges of everybody else like an old coyote, doing his job and staying private. That is until Crispin Carrasco shows up.

Lean, muscular, and with a motor mouth that won’t quit, Crispin sparks something in Malloy—something the foreman didn’t know was there. But how does a lone coyote approach the warmth of a fire? And more important, what would happen if that fire burned?

Purchase Link: http://www.amazon.com/My-Cowboy-Heart-Intermix-ebook/dp/B00AMOODZM/ref=pd_ybh_1

Review: Malloy has been Foreman of the J-bar for a long time, but more than that, he was raised since he was fourteen by Crandall Jenkins and his wife Emma.  J bar was more than a job it was home.   Mr Jenkins has a way of helping out people and he left Malloy in charge of the ranch as usual when he and Emma go off to Florida, to spend the winter and holidays with the girls. This year however he had another request. To watch out for Emma’s friends nephew Crispin Malloy, whom Crandall had given a job for the winter.

Crispin was unlike any other man Malloy had ever met. Not only was Crispin out and proud, but also compassionate and having a way with animals as well as people.  Malloy had no idea just how much Crispin would change his life and turn things at the ranch upside down doing so.

His book was amazing! Awesome isn’t even close to describing how good.  I love a good character driven story but this had both characters and an intriguing storyline.  All the characters even the sub characters had so much personality. I won’t call the men broken since though each one has had a bad past that left them broken. The Jenkins had taken them in, giving them jobs, home and love, mending them a little.  Let’s start with Malloy.  He is the typical, quiet cowboy, with his cowboy charm and drawl a loner and man of few words.  He likes his privacy and to stay on the outside looking in.  Crispin… he is a character all right; talkative, creative, caring, compassionate and empathetic. There is nothing he wouldn’t do for man or beast. And he is gay and proud of it.

This story is written with such wit and charm that you can’t put it down. There were places I laughed until I thought I’d die and a place or two I nearly cried.  The names alone are enough to put a smile on your face.

If you like, cowboys, ranch hands, three-legged dogs, lots of laughs and some tears, family drama and some smoking hot mansex this is for you
